OCB-283
 A digital switching system which supports a variety of communication.
 ALCATEL of France has developed this system.
 First ocb-283 exchange came to India in 1993.
 All new technology is based on stored program control (SPC) concept.
CDMA
 a channel access method used by various radio communication
technologies.
 Refers to any several protocols used in 2G and 3G wireless communication.
 Uses multiplexing
 Ultra high frequency (UHE): 800Mhz and 1.9Ghz.
 uses spread spectrum technology.
GSM
 2nd Generation cellular standard developed to cater voice and data
services.
 Provide services like mobile phones, emergency calling, SMS, voicemail
electronic mail etc.
 GSM network is made up of three subsystem:
1. mobile station(MS)
2.Base station subsystem (BSS): BSC & BTS
3. Network and switching subsystem
ISDN
 Designed to mitigate outdated landlines technology to digital
 Provides better data speed and higher quality.
 Mostly used for telephone communication.
 Internet service is an advantage.
 Circuit switched telephone network.
 Two types of ISDN: BRI & PRI
Transmission line
 The transmission line is a medium for transmitting electrical energy from
one place to another.
 used between transmitter and receiver with the help of “Antenna” .
 TYPES :
1.Parallel wire transmission line
2.Coaxial type line
3.Wave guide type cable
 Example: optical fiber.
Broadband
 refers to a signalling method that includes or handles a relatively wide
range of frequencies.
 wider the bandwidth, the greater the information-carrying capacity.
 High speed Internet Access.
 MPLS VPN is a technology.
 Bandwidth on Demand.
 Video and Audio Conferencing:
Conclusion
 We came across various technologies like CDMA,GSM,ISDN which is used in
BSNL.
 OCB-283 switching exchange system describes how actually we make
calls.
 This helped to make the practical knowledge of the theories which I had
studied in our academics.
 The discussion was basically done on telecommunication network and how
it works.
