With the rapid development of the economy, the development of enterprises has already shown a pattern of diversified development. More and more enterprises have gone abroad, and many foreign-funded enterprises have come to China for development. All these have brought a lot of opportunities for economic development at home and abroad. According to the course materials, I notice that the necessity of corporate intercultural adaptation. Intercultural communication is the study and practice of communication across cultural contexts (Bennet). Intercultural communication is a way to deal with relations among individuals from these gatherings that focus on the acknowledgment and regard of social contrasts, looks for the objective of common adjustment prompting biculturalism as opposed to straightforward osmosis, and supports the improvement of intercultural affectability with respect to people and associations to empower empathic understanding and equipped coordination of activity across social contrasts (Bennet). Based on the presentations and case analysis, adapting intercultural is the process of positive change in order to adapt to a new culture. This process can involve changing someone's beliefs and attitudes, knowledge, and skills. In cross-border trade, companies come into contact with people with different cultural backgrounds. These people often use different languages and have different customs and styles. These differences often lead to trouble. The external cultural features include language and eating habits, while the internal cultural features include beliefs, attitudes, and values. Successful acculturation includes adhering to the original values, customs, and beliefs while actively respecting the new culture and treating the two cultures fairly and unbiased.
All in all, what I learned from course, presentation and case analysis is, business leaders should recognize the cultural differences in foreign trade, attach importance to the cultivation of employees' intercultural adaptability and the improvement of their intercultural communication skills. Due to the acceleration of globalization, the cross-cultural adaptability of an enterprise is particularly important for its development, the organizations and companies should identify cultural differences and develop cultural identity.

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

The importance of Intercultural Communication
In the modern world, businesses and many organizations are multinationals, meaning that
executives, individuals and other stakeholders are forced or required to learn how to
communicate with other counterparts from different cultural backgrounds. E.g. To effectively
compete in the global market Namibian must understand how business and cultural
approaches are conducted in other countries.
With the knowledge in intercultural communication one can be entitled as an intercultural
competent and that require that individual to possess the appropriate knowledge and the
dynamic skills to handle cultural differences in the appropriate and effective manors.
Intercultural communication awareness can also develop a creative mindset to highlight issues
from different perspective with ridged prejudgments.
The adaptation to the work place diversity and the involvement in productive problem solving is
one of the important practical reasons to study intercultural communication, due to the fact
that it assist organizations or individuals to respect, understand and to be more generative in
their work place and other counterparts in the modern world. “We learn more from people
who are different from us than those who are similar to us.” (Martin & Nakayama. 2010). I
believe that the quality of ideas from the ethnically diverse group have significantly elevated
outcome than those from an ethnically homogeneous groups due to the synergistic
perspective.
One may also study intercultural communication to improve and assist the global and
intrapersonal peace. According to Sternberg1999 (cited in Toomey & Chang 2005) respect is a
fundamental aspect to peace globally and interpersonally. Respect building is closely bided to
intrapersonal building, meaning if we are at peace within ourselves we will hold more
compassion for others around us. E.g. If Namibians tribes had respect for one another, then
there will be no issues of tribalism and nepotisms or some tribes regarded as the superior tribe
above others.
Another practical reason to study intercultural communication is the improvement and the
adaptation of intercultural relationships. Nowadays there is a fast rise in the intercultural
mingling within the young nations. This is an indication of cultural sensitivity that is believed to
unite people and deepen the self-awareness. E.g. A wambo man who mingles with himbas will
easily understand and learn more about the himba tradition than a wambo man who distance
himself from himbas.
The intercultural communication enable one to have a systematic learning of the ideal themes
and concepts in intercultural communication flexibility and a concentrative heart for one to

accept the close-cultural dissimilar. The practical capability to integrate knowledge and the
responsive attitudes that can be in the form of listening, conflicts managements, constructive
non-verbal sensitivity and classification are also the components or criteria of intercultural
communication flexibility. I.e. one must possess a wide knowledge of cultures and the attitudes
to develop an open-mindset and the skills to handle cultural issues in order to avoid cultural
conflicts. The respective and responsive attitudes serve as a basic to drive us to communicate
adoptively with people from diverse cultural communities. (Mhene.2017).
Intercultural communication is very important in our social life due to the fact that, to
effectively compete in the global market, one must understand how business and cultural
approaches are conducted in other countries, and To become an intercultural expert you need
to possess the appropriate knowledge and the dynamic skills to handle cultural difference in
appropriate and effective manors to avoid intercultural conflicts. Respect is also believed to be
the fundamental aspect to peace globally and interpersonally. I believe that the quality of ideas
from the ethnically diverse group have significantly elevated outcome than those from an
ethnically homogeneous groups due to the synergistic perspective. All the above mentioned
scores are obtained via intercultural communication and they mapped its importance.
