Research into a director and their previous work
Martin Scorsese was born in 1942 in New York City to Italian-American parents and was raised in Little Italy, which inspired several of his films. He earned a B.S. and M.A. in film communications in the 1960s, making several short films and his first feature film. Scorsese is known for often beginning films with non-linear storytelling, using slow motion techniques, and has received several awards for his work over his career as a filmmaker, actor, and producer.
Portfolios of evidence
A portfolio of evidence is like curating an exhibition to showcase a learner's work and achievements. The summary outlines the key components of an effective portfolio, including a name and description, introductory summary, guide/index, annotations explaining each artifact, inclusion of different media types, grouping artifacts by theme, and directing readers to additional information online. The goal is to give the reviewer a comprehensive yet concise view of the learner's work through a well-curated selection of high quality artifacts.
Year 12 printmaking
Students are to complete a double page on an etching artist and ideally a lino print artist. They should also do at least a double page on their visit to the Curwen print centre, including photos, explanations, and prints. Students must mount at least 2 prints from Curwen as final outcomes, and they can optionally produce extra prints or manipulate scanned images from their work. The deadline is November 13th.

Smithsonian
. Each member of your three-person team will need to bring a certain skill set (not Liam Neeson's) to the table to complete it. This will require both individual and group work. Each group member will be given a task he or she must complete on their own, but must add to the finished product.
The bulk of your project grade will be determined on the quality of your own contribution. The remainder will consist of an evaluation of your entire group project, your ability to meet deadlines and maintain communication through your group discussion boards, and assessments completed by your group members regarding your input.
Museum Project – Group Member positions
Position #1: The Archeologist
This person must find images or videos of the artifacts, primary source documents, etc. that you want to present as a part of the exhibition. This person will also need to supply some basic facts about the object (who, what, when, and where). He or she will need to run it by the other team members for approval before deciding whether or not to add it to the exhibit. He or she may also need to build replicas of some artifacts for display (i.e. an exhibit on the Industrial Revolution might have a telegraph or electromagnet demonstration), and may call on Team Members 2 and 4 for some assistance
.Finally, this person will assist in developing the exhibit introduction which Team Member 2 will be drafting.
Position #2: The Researcher/Exhibitionist
This person will need to write a short blurb about each agreed-upon object/image that uses the basic facts provided by Team Member 1, and then explains the significance of it to explaining the exhibition's topic, using outside scholarly sources to write the blurbs. This person may be recruited to help in any replica constructions for the exhibit.This person will largely be responsible for also writing an introduction to the exhibit, which explains it as a whole (will receive input from Team Members 1 and 3).
Position #3: The Marketing Analyst
This person will be in charge of design, layout, and marketing for the exhibition. This person will need to craft the images and content found by Team Members 1 and 2 onto an aesthetically pleasing website that will both inform and draw visitors. Visit some museums and/or museum websites to get a feel for what works well. Do some research into museum marketing/administration.Additionally, this person will create a map that helps visitors navigate the exhibit. He or she will also need to craft a short press release describing the exhibition to be published in the local paper.Finally, this person will assist in developing the exhibit introduction which Team Member 2 will be drafting.

How to Write an Art Review
Ever thought about writing an art review for your blog or local paper?
Writing art reviews is a great way to meet people and build your credentials. It also provides good practice for honing your eye. You can’t help learning when you look
closely and critically at lots of art.
For a number of years I wrote art reviews for various local publications and even a couple of national publications. I’m a little rusty, but here are some tips on writing about
art exhibits in galleries, art centers, and museums.
1. Make sure there’s something you will like at the exhibit. It’s hard to write about art that doesn’t spark something in you. The artist’s story may come into play, but
your focus for a review is on the art, not the artist.
2. Visit the exhibit at a good time. You don’t want to go when there are tours or sketching sessions in the galleries. You want the space mostly to yourself. You want
quiet. Call the venue and ask them to suggest the best time to come. If the person answering the phone doesn’t seem to know much, ask to speak to the education office,
curator, or public relations officer.
Plan on spending at least an hour in the galleries.
3. Bring a pen, notepad, and voice recorder–depending on how you work best. I used to travel up to an hour to review an exhibit. It was nice to have the recorder to help
me process my ideas on the ride home.
Check with the venue ahead of time and see if it’s okay to take photos.

4. Scan the galleries and get a feel for the installation (how the work is hung or installed). Are the works in chronological order? Grouped by subject matter or by artist?
How has the curator made sense of the large grouping? Use this information to give your reader a sense of being there.
5. Select three or four artworks or artists to highlight in your article. These are pieces you will describe and talk about by title. Spend most of your time with these
works. Sit in front of each one for long periods of time. Write down every detail so you can describe it for your reader.
Note the correct attributions for the art: artist’s name, title, media, date, size (if available). Pick up a list of works on view or copy the text from the labels. Double check your
spelling.
6. Select one thing to criticize. If you like everything, your readers will get suspicious. But you don’t have to be as critical as you might think.
I have been known to harp about lighting, display cases, installation, traffic flow, label text, and label styling. I’ve also knocked the way a show was organized (e.g. the juror
was anonymous). You might find fault with an artist’s technique, matting (boy, don’t get me started on poor matting!), framing, artistic choices and clichés, or craftsmanship.

- 3. Part I Sightseeing the exhibition ROLE N°1: You are a museum visitor We will give one Visitor Identification Card per group. Each ID card contains one character. Before the visit You have to describe the character by filling in the ID card. During the visit You try to see the museum through the eyes of your group character. Beside sightseeing museum/exhibition, the visit will focus on one object. You describe the object from the perspective of Your visitor by filling the Object Question Card.

- 5. Part I Sightseeing the exhibition ROLE N°2: You are a museum consultant You have just been hired as a consultant by the museum. You visit their collections for the first time with the museum staff and you are trying to find out what the museum really needs. You can use questions from Consultant Question Card.
- 7. Part II Creating the project ROLE N°3: You are a Museum Project Manager Your task is to prepare creative brief of the project. The brief should describe your idea to attract the audience with the given object via IT tools. Fill the Briefing Board.
- 9. Part II Creating the project ROLE N°4: You are a Designer Team You are a designer studio who wish to answer the creative brief of the museum with a good project. Our WAM speakers are now your mentors, they are available to answer your questions. During the brainstorming fill the Project Board.

You can present your project using i.e.: Lego filming, drama playing, comics, stop- motion... The presentation should focus on user experience.
