CONTENT ANALYSIS : IDEATIONAL CONTENT 
The river in all its glory in a dynamic and vital symbol of nature. 
The poem has philosophy understone also. The flow of the river 
shows the journey of life to eternity. The different stages of life are 
brought in through the imagery.

New words like tickling, skylark, praised used in new situation 
PRE-REQUISITES : The learner may have an awareness about the specialities of a river.

Greeting and chatting 
Teacher initiates an informal interaction with the pupil and tries to sustain the interest 
throughout the class 
Entry Activity 
Teacher talks speciality of the words shown on blackboard. Then teacher divides the class into 
five groups and gave appropriate name. 
Link Talk 
Teacher shows a chart which containing rhyming words of different poem. Teacher tells them 
to identify the speciality of the words are written in the chart 
- Do you find these type of words anywhere? 
- What is the speciality of these words? 
Things – clings 
Rings - brings 
Sun - run 
Mead - lead 
Never- ever 
Then teacher shows another chart which contains the definition of rhyming words with the 
help of a chart. 
RHYMING WORDS 
Rhyming words are words that ends with same sound. 
Eg: sun-run, King-ring, near-fear
Then teacher gives a chance to the pupil to take their textbook and read the poem “River” 
and findout rhyming words from the poem.

After that teacher shows a chart which contains the rhyming words written disorderly and 
also give a chance to the pupil to arrange it in correct order.
