Learning Out come : The Leaner is,
1) recognising the importance of the literary items rhyming words and opposites
2) understanding what is a rhyming word what is meant by opposites

4) analysing the situations where rhyming words and opposites are to be used.
5) evaluating the importance of using rhyming words in a poem.

Content analysis : Ideational content – Rhyming words : A rhyme is a repetition of similar sounding words occurring at the end of lines in poems or songs
Opposites : The negative of a given word is called its opposite.
Linguistic content : words like Hate, Good, Rise, Woman, Cry, Bright, Beautiful, Strong, Quick, Fill, Victory, Narrow, Sell, Stop.
Pre - requisites : The leaner might know what is a rhyming word and what is meant by opposites.

2. Classroom Interaction Procedure

Informal Interaction.
The teacher wishes the students and has an informal interaction with them. She creates a good rapport with the students.
Good morning. Are you happy? Have you had your breakfast? Are you feeling good?
Entry Activity.
The teacher asks the students to list out some rhyming words which they know. Then she divides the class into five based on their numbers.
The teacher has in her hand some cards containing a set of fifteen words and above each word one number from 1 to 15 are written, another set of 15 rhyming words and another set of 15 opposites. The teacher then shuffles these cards. To each group she gives nine cards ( three words ,three rhyming words and three opposites )
The teacher has to take care that in the same group, the rhyming word or opposite of the word given in that group should not be given.
The teacher then says to the students:
Today we are going to play a game. I had given you some words. Above some words, I had written some numbers. When I say the number written above any word, one member from that group has to stand and read the word. Then if I clap once, those who got the rhyming word of that word has to stand and read it. If I clap twice, the one who got the opposite of that word has to stand and read the word. For every right answer, 1 mark will be given to the group and for every wrong answer, ½ mark negative will be given. Those who score the highest mark will be the winners.

3. Eg- Teacher says 1 : The word which is numbered 1 is read by the student who got the word with number 1
Teacher claps twice: The opposite is read by the student who got the opposite of that word.
Teacher clap once : The student who got the rhyming word reads it aloud.
Continues until 15 words are completed.
