 Blood is a fluid connective tissue.
 Haemoglobin gives red color to the blood.

 RBC are round, biconcave disc.
 The main function of RBC is transport of
respiratory gases.
 WBC have no definite shape.
 WBC help the defence of the body.
 Platelets are broken pieces of some large
cells found in the bone marrow.
 Platelets helps clotting of blood.

  • 3. 3 FACTS  Blood is a fluid connective tissue.  In most animals blood is red in color.  Haemoglobin gives red color to the blood.  Blood flows continuously through the body.  Blood helps to regulate the body temperature.  Blood has defence mechanism.  The major constituent of the blood are RBC,WBC, and platelet CONCEPTS MINOR CONCEPTS  Blood is a fluid connection tissue with complex structure.  Blood has defence mechanism. MAJOR CONCEPTS  Blood is a major factor which carries out many vital functions in our body.

  • 6. 6 CLASSROOM INTERACTION PROCEDURE PUPIL RESPONSES INTRODUCTION Teacher makes a rapport with the students and begins the class by asking question. Which is the major factor in our body ? Do you know, What are the different constituents of blood? The teacher says today we are going to study about the different constituents of the blood. PRESENTATION ACTIVITY-I The teacher shows the video depicting the different constituents of blood and asks the students to observe the constituents of blood Blood RBC, WBC and Platelets Pupil listens carefully

ACTIVITY-II The teacher shows the CD depicting the function of blood cells. Blood cells RBC, WBC and Platelets Haemoglobin CONSOLIDATION Blood is a fluid connective tissue. The haemoglobin gives red color to the body. The major constituents of the blood are RBC, WBC and platelets.
  • 8. 8 BLOOD  Blood is a fluid connective tissue.  Haemoglobin gives red color to the blood.  The major constituents of the blood are RBC, WBC and platelets.  RBC are round, biconcave disc.  The main function of RBC is transport of respiratory gases.  WBC have no definite shape.  WBC help the defence of the body.  Platelets are broken pieces of some large cells found in the bone marrow.  Platelets helps clotting of blood.
