the blood through lecture method, group discussion, and evaluation by questioning in group work and 
group discussion. 
CONTENT ANALYSIS 
NEW TERMS: Blood, immunity, body temperature, RBC, WBC, platelets 
FACTS: 
 Blood is a fluid connective tissue 
 In most animals blood is red in colour 
 Haemoglobin gives red colour to the blood 
 Blood flows continuously through the body 
 Blood helps to regulates the boby temperature 
 Blood has defence mechanism 
 The major constituents of the blood are RBC, WBC and platelets

 Blood is a fluid connective tissue with complex structure 
 Blood has defence mechanism.

 Blood is a major factor which carries out many vital functions in 
our body

INTRODUCTION 
Teacher makes a rapport with the students and begins the 
class by asking some questions. 
 Which is the major factor in our body? 
 Do you know the different constituents of blood? 
Yes. Very good. Today we are going to study about 
the different constituents of the blood 
PRESENTATION 
ACTIVITY 1 
Teacher shows the video depicting the 
different constituents of blood. 
Teacher asks questions about it 
 What do you seen in the video? 
 What are the different constituents of 
blood? 
 Which gives red colour to blood? 
ACTIVITY 2 
Teacher shows the CD depicting the 
structure and functions of blood cells 
Teacher asks 
 What do you seen in the CD? 
 What is the function of blood? 
ACTIVITY 3 
Teacher divides the students in to different 
groups and gives activity cards containing 
the pictures of different blood cells and ask 
them to identify it and write the names 
Blood 
RBC, WBC, platelets 
Pupil listens carefully

Haemoglobin 
Blood cells with their functions

Pupil writes

INTRODUCTION Teacher makes a rapport with the students and begins the class by asking some questions.  Which is the major factor in our body?  Do you know the different constituents of blood? Yes. Very good. Today we are going to study about the different constituents of the blood PRESENTATION ACTIVITY 1 Teacher shows the video depicting the different constituents of blood. Teacher asks questions about it  What do you seen in the video?  What are the different constituents of blood?  Which gives red colour to blood? ACTIVITY 2 Teacher shows the CD depicting the structure and functions of blood cells Teacher asks  What do you seen in the CD?  What is the function of blood? ACTIVITY 3 Teacher divides the students in to different groups and gives activity cards containing the pictures of different blood cells and ask them to identify it and write the names Blood RBC, WBC, platelets Pupil listens carefully Blood cells RBC, WBC, platelets Haemoglobin Blood cells with their functions defence Pupil writes RBC
