This document summarizes a presentation on the relationship between information management (IM) and knowledge management (KM). It discusses how KM is sometimes viewed as just a rebranding of IM. The presentation notes there is debate around the definitions and differences between KM and IM. It previews an upcoming ISO standard for KM systems that will provide requirements and help define the scope and principles of KM.
