Influences of Society Essay
What Influences Society?
Society seems to influence all ages by poisoning our minds with lies and aggression. People all
over try to act like different souls because of what we see on television, hear on the radio, and view
in the movie theaters. Everyone try's to dress different, act different, and change their whole life
style just to be known like a certain movie star, or singer.
In our society today, it is extremely important to pay attention to what influences children. One of the
biggest influences America's youth may have is the television. It is possible for children to be pulled
into the television's realistic world of violence with sometimes devastating results. The...show more

When kids hear a certain music group or a performer like Eminem and Britney Spears, they get
visions in their heads that they can be them. Britney spears dresses like a slut, acts like a slut, and
then gets mad when people call her a slut. Girls growing up see that and try to be that, in which
they get raped or assaulted by the way they dress. Eminem raps about drugs, beating women, and
other explicit content. In their eyes it's just music, but in society's eyes, it's a matter of life or
death. If we could abolish these in society, we wouldn't have kids being murdered, or kids
committing suicidal acts because of what they hear. I'm not trying to bring anyone down for what
they believe in, but that is the way it's got to be.
Hollywood in today's life evolves around lies, sex, and death. When the movie Natural Born
Killers was released, kids were going around killing others just because of what they saw in the
movie. Genocidal acts were being committed, meaning certain races were being killed for a certain
persons ism, or belief. Movies influence all the bad things that can and will eventually happen.
Superman made kids put on capes and jump out of windows, just because they thought they could
fly. Were not helping society in any way by creating such movies as the ones I mentioned. All we
are doing is agging it on for things like that to happen.
In the end, our husbands, wives,

Influences of a Teacher Essay
" A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived
in, or the kind of car I drove but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a
child."–Unknown
What does a teacher do? Well, besides giving out tons of papers, numerous tests, and stories that the
students aren't interested in reading (or just too lazy to read), teachers are responsible for creating
the future leaders of tomorrow. In today's society one may find advancement difficult without a
formal education. Education is one of society's institutions that helps to infuse in our younger
generation the norms, values and morals of the world we live in. Teachers lead their students on the
trip to success. Have you...show more content...
Jeff's style was to interfere as little as possible with class discussions. His theory was that one could
not comment on circumstances that one doesn't know about. Therefore, he often refrained from
commenting leaving the class unclear of what he wanted. Jeff's goal of having equal student–teacher
relations failed by not establishing a sense of authority and discipline (Zawodniak 127).
In conversing with Arnie Schwartz, a woodshop and Cadet Corps teacher from Robert Fulton
Middle school, he said, " In the 26 years of my employment with LAUSD, I have tried to use
myself as a role model to motivate students to apply themselves in all their scholastic classes. To
do this properly you can be strict but still find some fun in the relationship with yourself and the
students. You need to let the students know that you are friendly and nice but you also have to let
them know that they need to follow the rules. My number one rule in my class is: 'my classroom
is like my home, you come into it as a guest and you don't litter or tag the furniture in my
classroom.' Prior to leaving my class I inspect the furniture for evidence of debris and tagging. The
purpose of my inspection is to make sure my classroom stays clean and provides a clean
environment in which my students can learn."
Arnie insists that his students follow his rules in maintaining order and

Essay on Music and It's Influence
Music and it's influence
It is no doubt that music has played a vital role in our society. Everything from loud, head–banging
concerts to religious ceremonies have utilized the medium of music because of its awe–inspiring
qualities. Music is basically the control of sound. We can control this sound by varying the pitch,
tempo, octaves, dynamics and so on. There are thousands of ways that we can use music and to
shape it to how we want to hear it. But how much has music influenced the way we think today?
Why is it so popular?
Music dates right back to the prehistoric eras where primitive instruments were constructed using
items like bone and wood. These primitive musicians would not have known many of the modern
terms such as octaves...show more content...
If we see a film about a jungle, normally the soundtrack is composed of instruments like bongos or
shakers. This is because we instantly associate this sort of music with jungles and indigenous tribes.
So whilst some parts of the world stayed traditionalist, other parts were taking music to the next step.
Western cultures have used music for almost every aspect of life. Music was used for entertainment,
religion, war cries and important ceremonies. Some countries have unfortunately lost their culture
and heritage thanks to more developed countries trying to expand their empires. A good example of
this is when the indigenous Mexican people were murdered in their homeland by the invading
Spanish – and replaced the traditional drums and flutes with more vibrant shakers and trumpets. It is
no doubt that the way upper countries have acted has greatly affected the distribution of music
worldwide.
I'm sure you'll all agree when I say that music is changing very fast. It's either that or we keep
changing our tastes in music every five minutes – which is far more probable. Today if someone put
on a record from just 10–20 years ago we'd probably think of that music as being incredibly old or
very simple. I don't know about you, but I can't stand to watch some (if not most) of the early Top
of the Pops because the music is so old. We think of this as being old, but in

dynamic.
The first skill of idealized influence is the "ability of the leader to build loyalty and commitment
within others by building a sense of mission, without consideration of their own self–needs" (Ghadi
& Fernando, 2013, p.535). To build loyalty among followers, "the leader will have to strengthen
mutual confidence, respect and trust" (Doody & Doody, 2012, p.2). As a leader, I will first have to
show confidence in my decision–making as well as my vision that I am exuding. Idealized influence
is the ability of the leader to build commitment within their followers, which is influenced by
self–confidence, respect and trust. Involving followers and asking for their advice will help to instil
a sense of mutual respect and trust. For the leader to be effective in influencing their followers, they
must also have charisma, defined by Doody & Doody...show more content...
Encouraging and empowering staff to look outside the box and challenge practices to find better
quality decisions starts by offering formal but also informal education and learning.
Transformational leaders are able to "encourage the proposal of new ideas by empowering staff to
approach problems in new ways using evidence–based practice" (Gheith, 2010, p). To develop this
skill, I must further step outside the box and look to gain knowledge. Researching, attending
educational workshops and questioning certain practices will allow myself to feel confident in
my ability to look outside the lines and question the effectiveness of current practices. The ability
of a transformational leader to empower followers to question their beliefs and look outside the
box stems from their own skill to do the same. To enhance my skills of innovation, I will further
research and educate myself to be able to increase the effectiveness of my ability as a leader to
empower my followers to do the

Media Influence
Media is a huge part of people's lives in today's society. Through different forms of media people
can now obtain vast amounts of information at the slightest touch of a finger. While it is convenient
and comforting to have access to so much data, the question arises. How much of this information
we receive shapes our lives? Mass media as an agent of socialization can prime and/or skew people's
belief system through mere exposure without the slightest clue of it affects. Mass media as an agent
of socialization can structure people's perception on society as a whole by simply using influence,
control, and trust.
Literature Review
Influence
Media influence is the force by which ideas are injected into people's lives shaping the very culture
of society. This influence is masqueraded through hidden media message, resulting in a change in its
audience which can be positive or negative, abrupt or gradual, short term or long term. Although
mass media's influential effect can reach a wide ranged audience as an agent of socialization the
responsibility to contain what it releases has not been of importance. "The media's socially
significant obligations are formally ignored." (A.S. Zapesotskii, 2011, p 9). Media messages can be
exerted through many different outlets such as TV shows, music, movies, commercials, news,
magazines, games which are all gravitated to entertain audiences ultimately offering personal
gratification that can sometimes blur the lines between reality and

Influence of Music
Music and radio has roots in American culture and the way society is today. The different types of
music genres have shaped American culture and social behavior of Americans. Audio media has had
a major affect and influence on the attitudes of Americans and especially today's youth and young
adults.
Music and radio has given American culture its values, the way that jazz, blues, and R&B
created rock & roll, music created American culture. Music appeals to young adults, and youth
as an escape to the hard times of real life. Drawn by the explicit lyrics and beats, the youth always
searches out for music to dance to and music to connect with. American...show more content...
A way of bringing what was different cultures together and making one culture, The American
Culture. Rock and Roll is a genre of music that has forever changed the social behavior of
Americans. Rock and roll has influenced American culture in the daily life, fashion and attitudes
of most Americans. Rock and Roll broke the race barricade, forming in a time of a civil rights
movement. Rock and roll was a new form of music that encouraged desegregation. Evolving black
artists and white artists playing black music, rock and roll changed the way American culture
accepts what was once taboo. Rock and roll put a perception of sex, drugs, and alcohol to be
accepted and what is considered "cool". Artists singing about doing drugs, or hooking up with
random woman made it something to be idolized. Rock and roll influenced young adults to
engage in risky behavior. Now is American culture, these things are almost considered normal.
Rock and roll shaped fashion and is continuously changing fashion. Fans copy styles of their
favorite artists as a way to express one's self. From ripped up, tight, or baggy pants, long hair,
colored hair, or shaved heads, the fashion is always changing. Some fashions coming back and
making another appearance in American culture, a lot of fashion comes from Rock and roll.
Piercings and tattoos once forbidden, is becoming more and more acceptable in American culture.

Influences Of Social Media Essay
There is no secret that a modern day teenager's life is built around the usage of technology. As a
result of society's heavy reliance on technology, social media has become popular amongst people
who are "technologically advanced." Though there is a wide variety of social sites that can be
accessed through modern day technology, a few have become very popular. Social sites which have
become widely popular among teens include Instagram, Tumblr, and Snapchat. These social
networking sites provide instant social connection and emotional support while letting teens post and
send pictures of their everyday life. Many teens look towards social media for emotional support
and social acceptance. The continual usage of these sites are negatively...show more content...

Instagram is for people who've obtained a high reputation in the social scene. These "Instagram
Famous" individuals force people to want to attain more followers and 'likes' on their photos. The
majority of teens use social media in order to measure their popularity against others. A popular
trend called 'selfies' are now arising amongst teens. According to Victoria Woollaston, a science
and tech reporter at Daily Mail, "The new craze, which involves posing by yourself before taking a
picture, has risen in popularity, with over one million selfies taken every day". Teens measure their
self–worth by posting their 'selfies' on Instagram. There becomes a constant battle as to who can get
more 'likes' and comments on a picture. Victoria Woollaston also states that, "The majority of teens
post the photos in search of assurance and compliments, but they are making themselves vulnerable
to negative comments and abuse". In search for attention teens do not realize that they are bringing
down their self– esteem. Most teens are likely to delete a photo if it doesn't get as many 'likes' as
they would want or if they were to receive a negative comment on a photo. Today's teens are now
making it easier to get bullied through social apps. In many cases teens often bully themselves. There
