The Cause, Effect and Possible Solution to Traffic Congestion on Nigeria Road...inventionjournals
Due to increase in population and the attraction of human activities into urban region which in
turn leads to the growth of vehicle ownership and use, there is demand for road space which has led to increase
in the number of public transport operation. Consequently, the demand for road space is greater than the
supply because the rate of provision of transport facilities is less than the rate of growth of vehicle ownership
and use which result into traffic congestion. Traffic congestion is the impedance of vehicles imposed on each
other due to speed-flow relationship in conditions where the use of transport system approaches capacity.
Traffic congestion in Nigeria, taking Basorun-Akobo Road in Ibadan Oyo State as a case study has been
analysed using experimental and theoretical approaches. These involve traffic counting and delay survey. In
order to carry out effective research work on the case study road, the method adopted were traffic counting and
traffic delay survey. The effect of traffic congestion on the study area are Waste of time, Delay movement,
Accident, Inability to forecast travel time, Fuel consumption, Road rage and environmental pollution. Possible
solutions to traffic congestion on the case study area is to: Dualize the Road, Provide Adequate Parking Space,
Construct proper Drainage and Install Traffic Control Devices.
The Study on Method to Determine the Priority in Sidewalk Installation on Rur...inventionjournals
A sidewalk as part of the road facilities to secure the pedestrian safety in Korea shall be provided when the pedestrian and vehicle traffic reach to a certain level but applying this regulation to the rural road where there are less pedestrian traffic but vehicle traffic at high speed and thus the driver's attention to the pedestrians is relatively low is not rational. Thus the installation of the sidewalk shall be determined, taking into account of the pedestrian traffic accident record and the characteristics from the viewpoint of traffic environment to the pedestrian. Installation of sidewalk is greatly dependent on economic efficiency, particularly to the rural road. For rational investment within the given budget, it's necessary to determine the priority with regard to sidewalk installation, considering the pedestrian safety, regional society's need and installation effect comprehensively. Thus this study is intended to propose the evaluation items and quantitative method with regard to the installation priority in consideration of the function of the road to be installed, regional social and cultural characteristics and overall road and traffic conditions such as pedestrian traffic pattern and school.
Relationship between ethics and politics: an issue of a short vision on road ...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: The public works sector undoubtedly contributes to the economic development of the country.
This sector is unfortunately damaged and destroyed by local populations for various reasons. This study was
conducted in two regions which are the region of Diana and that of Sofia with the objective of identifying the
sources of degradation of road infrastructure. The methods consist of: (i) developing questionnaires on
politicians concerned by these two regions and the neighboring populations of these infrastructures and (ii)
carrying out statistical analyzes of the data using the analysis of variances. The majorities of the people
surveyed are the district heads and the regional directors, who represent 35% each. The causes of the
degradation of road infrastructure are significantly higher for non-compliance with load, lack of awareness and
nozzle theft. The Measures taken into account for the fight against the degradation of road infrastructure are
significantly higher for law enforcement, program exit, public awareness, rain barriers and adequate sanitation.
These infrastructures constitute sources of income for certain populations and also for the Malagasy State, from
which they deserve to be maintained and protected.

A Presentation By Ebele Mogo, DrPH. By 2050, two-thirds of the global population will live in cities. Already, over half of the world’s population lives in urban centers. In line with Goal 11 of the Sustainable Development Goals (S.D.G.s), these urban centers need to be made sustainable. Healthy and resilient urban development prioritizes the physical and social environment of urban residents and safeguards their health in the face of future stresses. This mixed methods study sought to understand the extent to which health and resilience were integrated into the development of the Lagos metropolis. This study serves as a case study for other metropolises on how to integrate and considerations for integrating urban health and resilience into city planning processes.

The prostate is an exocrine gland of the male mammalian reproductive system
It is a walnut-sized gland that forms part of the male reproductive system and is located in front of the rectum and just below the urinary bladder
Function is to store and secrete a clear, slightly alkaline fluid that constitutes 10-30% of the volume of the seminal fluid that along with the spermatozoa, constitutes semen
A healthy human prostate measures (4cm-vertical, by 3cm-horizontal, 2cm ant-post ).
It surrounds the urethra just below the urinary bladder. It has anterior, median, posterior and two lateral lobes
It’s work is regulated by androgens which are responsible for male sex characteristics
Generalised disease of the prostate due to hormonal derangement which leads to non malignant enlargement of the gland (increase in the number of epithelial cells and stromal tissue)to cause compression of the urethra leading to symptoms (LUTS

RESULTS: Overall life span (LS) was 2252.1±1742.5 days and cumulative 5-year survival (5YS) reached 73.2%, 10 years – 64.8%, 20 years – 42.5%. 513 LCP lived more than 5 years (LS=3124.6±1525.6 days), 148 LCP – more than 10 years (LS=5054.4±1504.1 days).199 LCP died because of LC (LS=562.7±374.5 days). 5YS of LCP after bi/lobectomies was significantly superior in comparison with LCP after pneumonectomies (78.1% vs.63.7%, P=0.00001 by log-rank test). AT significantly improved 5YS (66.3% vs. 34.8%) (P=0.00000 by log-rank test) only for LCP with N1-2. Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: phase transition (PT) early-invasive LC in terms of synergetics, PT N0—N12, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells- CC and blood cells subpopulations), G1-3, histology, glucose, AT, blood cell circuit, prothrombin index, heparin tolerance, recalcification time (P=0.000-0.038). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and PT early-invasive LC (rank=1), PT N0—N12 (rank=2), thrombocytes/CC (3), erythrocytes/CC (4), eosinophils/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), segmented neutrophils/CC (8), stick neutrophils/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10); leucocytes/CC (11). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (area under ROC curve=1.0; error=0.0).
CONCLUSIONS: 5YS of LCP after radical procedures significantly depended on: 1) PT early-invasive cancer; 2) PT N0--N12; 3) cell ratio factors; 4) blood cell circuit; 5) biochemical factors; 6) hemostasis system; 7) AT; 8) LC characteristics; 9) LC cell dynamics; 10) surgery type: lobectomy/pneumonectomy; 11) anthropometric data. Optimal diagnosis and treatment strategies for LC are: 1) screening and early detection of LC; 2) availability of experienced thoracic surgeons because of complexity of radical procedures; 3) aggressive en block surgery and adequate lymph node dissection for completeness; 4) precise prediction; 5) adjuvant chemoimmunoradiotherapy for LCP with unfavorable prognosis.

OUTCOMES IN AFRICAN
MEGACITIES.
CASE STUDY- THE LAGOS MEGACITY REGION.
2. WHY LMCR/ AFRICAN MEGACITIES?
Africa- fastest urbanizing region of the world
Urbanization occurs in advance of an industrial basis for
growth
Implications on health especially due to poverty
LMCR- Located in Lagos state- smallest state in Nigeria
Houses 1/3 of the urban residents of Nigeria
Houses 90% of the population of Lagos state-
considered a city-state
Largest conglomeration of the black race
Projected to be 3rd largest megacity next to Tokyo and
Bombay by 2015
Case study for rapid urbanization especially in the
context of development
3. Analytical evaluation of progress on social determinants
of health in the Lagos megacity region
- Health equity
- Transportation
- Governance
- Food security
- Water and sanitation
- Safety
- Health care
- Environment
4. TRANSPORTATION IN THE CITY
Transportation policies
Infrastructure
- mass transit options
