This document summarizes the implementation of a single-phase active power factor correction (APFC) circuit using the FAN6982 analog controller chip. It describes the basic principle of the single-stage boost APFC circuit and double closed-loop voltage and current control. It proposes a new duty cycle compensation method based on voltage loop dynamic compensation. Simulation results show the input current tracks the voltage waveform well with power factor of 0.99 and total harmonic distortion of 5.42%. Experimental results for a 500W circuit show an efficiency of 96.25%, power factor of 0.99, and total harmonic distortion of 10.74%, demonstrating effective power factor correction.
