This document summarizes a research paper on trust management for delay tolerant networks. It discusses how delay tolerant networks have high latency, disconnections, and unreliable wireless connections. Further, a routing protocol has been designed to ensure the secure and reliable end-to-end delivery of packets by only considering trustworthy nodes in the path. Simulation results show that our proposed trust model outperforms similar existing trust models.

A mobile Ad-hoc network (MANET) is an impulsive network that can be recognized with no predetermined infrastructure. To achieve safe path selection cryptographic key exchange was implemented mostly in turn of huge computational cost. Confidence based coordination in MANET focuses on routing challenges created by selfish nodes, as energy utilization & time factor are key issues in this aspect. The present protocol is focused on fuzzy optimization-based node confidence estimation and path selection with minimum energy utilization. The node with maximum confidence value will give high priority to include in the path for transmission. In the implemented protocol to build a novel confidence-based model multidimensional factors like confidence value, link cost, degree of node and node energy are included as decision-making factors. The proposed protocol CLBNSRM estimates confidence level in four steps to decide a trustworthiness of neighboring node. To estimate the efficiency of the present confidence model various protocols are compared by using attributes like the number of nodes, node speed, malicious node variation, etc. Moreover, different parameters like Packet delivery ratio, Throughput, Residual energy, and Packet dropped are considered with these attribute variations. Experimental results indicate that PDR and Throughput increase although in presence of malicious nodes, along with the utilization of minimal energy. Statistical analysis is carried out for mathematical modeling. This analysis shows that a linear model of an implemented protocol is better than compared protocol with all the aspects.

article we have proposed a Trust and Q-learning based Security (TQS) model to detect the misbehaving
nodes over Ad Hoc On Demand Distance-Vector (AODV) routing protocol. Here we avoid the misbehaving
nodes by calculating an aggregated reward, based on the Q-learning mechanism by using their historical
forwarding and responding behaviour by the way misbehaving nodes can be isolated.

Different strategies are designed to evaluate routes based on the trust values of their constituent nodes. formation and cluster head election. However, in WCA security features are not included. The proposed
TWCA is a cluster based trust evaluation, in which the mobile nodes are grouped into clusters with one
cluster head. It establishes trust relationship for the cluster based on the previous transaction result. The
simulation result confirms the efficiency of our scheme than the WCA and SEMC.

In Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs), an end-to-end path from source to destination may not exist. Nodes may connect and exchange their information in an opportunistic way. This book represents a broad overview of DTNs, particularly focusing on Vehicular Ad-hoc DTNs, their main characteristics, challenges and our research on this field. In the near future, cars are expected to be equipped with devices that will allow them to communicate wirelessly i.e. Wi-Fi. However, there will be strict restrictions to the duration of their connections with other vehicles, whereas the conditions of their links will greatly vary; DTNs as well as Ad-hoc DTNs present an attractive solution. Therefore, Vehicular Ad-hoc DTNs constitute an attractive research field. For practical implementation, we have used two Android devices for a little range of Wi-Fi. So, by this we are trying to give us better accuracy to go further. A mobile agent offers discrete advantage both in facilitating better transmission as well as controlling the traffic load in Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET). Hence, such forms of network offers maximized dependencies on mobile agents in terms of its trust worthiness. At present, there are various work being carried out towards resisting security breach in MANET; however approaches using mobile agent based mechanism is few to found. Therefore, the proposed system introduces a novel mathematical model where an extensive decision making system has been constructed for identifying the malicious intention of mobile agents in case they go rogues. By adopting multi-tier communication policy and fairness concept, the proposed system offers the capability to resist any form of malicious activity of mobile agent without even presence of any apriori information of adversary. The outcome shows proposed system outshines existing security scheme in MANET.
A MALICIOUS USERS DETECTING MODEL BASED ON FEEDBACK CORRELATIONSIJCNC
The trust and reputation models were introduced to restrain the impacts caused by rational but selfish
peers in P2P streaming systems. However, these models face with two major challenges from dishonest
feedback and strategic altering behaviors. To answer these challenges, we present a global trust model
based on network community, evaluation correlations, and punishment mechanism. We also propose a
two-layered overlay to provide the function of peers’ behaviors collection and malicious detection.
Furthermore, we analysis several security threats in P2P streaming systems, and discuss how to defend
with them by our trust mechanism. The simulation results show that our trust framework can successfully
filter out dishonest feedbacks by using correlation coefficients. It can effectively defend against the
security threats with good load balance as well.

A vital technology in the next-generation cellular network is device-to-device (D2D) communication. Cellular user enabled with D2D communication provides high spectral efficiency and further increases the coverage area of the cell, especially for the end-cell users and blind spot areas. However, the implementation of D2D communication increases interference among the cellular and D2D users. In this paper, we proposed a radio resource allocation (RRA) algorithm to manage the interference using fractional frequency reuse (FFR) scheme and Hungarian algorithm. The proposed algorithm is divided into three parts. First, the FFR scheme allocates different frequency bands among the cell (inner and outer region) for both the cellular and the D2D users to reduce the interference. Second, the Hungarian weighted bipartite matching algorithm is used to allocate the resources to D2D users with the minimum total system interference, while maintaining the total system sum rate. The cellular users share the resources with more than one D2D pair. Lastly, the local search technique of swapping is used for further allocation to minimize the interference. We implemented two types of assignments, fair multiple assignment, and restricted multiple assignment. We compared our results with existing algorithms which verified that our proposed algorithm provides outstanding results in aspects like interference reduction and system sum rate. For restricted multiple assignment, 60-70% of the D2D users are allocated in average cases.
Design and Implementation of TARF: A Trust-Aware Routing Framework for WSNsijsrd.com
The multi-hop routing in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) offers little protection against identity deception through replaying routing information. An adversary can exploit this defect to launch various harmful or even devastating attacks against the routing protocols, including sinkhole attacks, wormhole attacks and Sybil attacks. The situation is further aggravated by mobile and harsh network conditions. Traditional cryptographic techniques or efforts at developing trust-aware routing protocols do not effectively address this severe problem. To secure the WSNs against adversaries misdirecting the multi-hop routing, we have designed and implemented TARF, a robust trust-aware routing framework for dynamic WSNs. Without tight time synchronization or known geographic information, TARF provides trustworthy and energy-efficient route. Most importantly, TARF proves effective against those harmful attacks developed out of identity deception; the resilience of TARF is verified through extensive evaluation with both simulation and empirical experiments on large-scale WSNs under various scenarios including mobile and RF-shielding network conditions. Further, we have implemented a low-overhead TARF module in Tiny OS; as demonstrated, this implementation can be incorporated into existing routing protocols with the least effort. Based on TARF, we also demonstrated a proof-of-concept mobile target detection application that functions well against an anti-detection mechanism.

The node passes through several isolation processes before it
is permanently removed. Another version of AODV protocol
is used here which allows the simulation of selfish nodes in

Intelligent networks are becoming more enveloping and dwelling a new generation of applications are
deployed over the peer-to-peer networks. Intelligent networks are very attractive because of their role in
improving the scalability and enhancing performance by enabling direct and real-time communication
among the participating network stations. A suitable solution for resource management in distributed wireless systems is required which should support fault-tolerant operations, requested resources (at shortest path), minimize overhead generation during network management, balancing the load distribution between the participating stations and high probability of lookup success and many more. This article
presents a Movement Assisted Component Based Scalable Framework (MAC-SF) for the distributed
network which manages the distributed wireless resources and applications; monitors the behavior of the
distributed wireless applications transparently and attains accurate resource projections, manages the
connections between the participating network stations and distributes the active objects in response to the
user requests and changing processing and network conditions. This system is also compared with some
exiting systems. Results shows that MAC-SF is a better system and can be used in any wireless network.
Cluster Based Misbehaviour Detection and Authentication Using Threshold Crypt...CSCJournals
In mobile ad hoc networks, the misbehaving nodes can cause dysfunction in the network resulting in damage of other nodes. In order to establish secure communication with the group members of a network, use of a shared group key for confidentiality and authentication is required. Distributing the shares of secret group key to the group members securely is another challenging task in MANET. In this paper, we propose a Cluster Based Misbehavior Detection and Authentication scheme using threshold cryptography in MANET. For secure data transmission, when any node requests a certificate from a cluster head (CH), it utilizes a threshold cryptographic technique to issue the certificate to the requested node for authentication. The certificate of a node is renewed or rejected by CH, based on its trust counter value. An acknowledgement scheme is also included to detect and isolate the misbehaving nodes. By simulation results, we show that the proposed approach reduces the overhead.

challenging. The mobile nodes are vulnerable to security attacks. To protect the ad hoc network it is
essential to evaluate the trust worthiness. The proposed TWCA is similar to WCA in terms of cluster
formation and cluster head election. However, in WCA security features are not included. The proposed
TWCA is a cluster based trust evaluation, in which the mobile nodes are grouped into clusters with one
cluster head. It establishes trust relationship for the cluster based on the previous transaction result. The
simulation result confirms the efficiency of our scheme than the WCA and SEMC.

Generally, traditional networks presume the presence of some path between endpoints. Today, however, new applications, environments and types of devices are challenging these assumptions. In Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs), an end-to-end path from source to destination may not exist. Nodes may connect and exchange their information in an opportunistic way. This book represents a broad overview of DTNs, particularly focusing on Vehicular Ad-hoc DTNs, their main characteristics, challenges and our research on this field. In the near future, cars are expected to be equipped with devices that will allow them to communicate wirelessly i.e. Wi-Fi. However, there will be strict restrictions to the duration of their connections with other vehicles, whereas the conditions of their links will greatly vary; DTNs as well as Ad-hoc DTNs present an attractive solution. Therefore, Vehicular Ad-hoc DTNs constitute an attractive research field. For practical implementation, we have used two Android devices for a little range of Wi-Fi. So, by this we are trying to give us better accuracy to go further. A mobile agent offers discrete advantage both in facilitating better transmission as well as controlling the traffic load in Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET). Hence, such forms of network offers maximized dependencies on mobile agents in terms of its trust worthiness. At present, there are various work being carried out towards resisting security breach in MANET; however approaches using mobile agent based mechanism is few to found. Therefore, the proposed system introduces a novel mathematical model where an extensive decision making system has been constructed for identifying the malicious intention of mobile agents in case they go rogues. By adopting multi-tier communication policy and fairness concept, the proposed system offers the capability to resist any form of malicious activity of mobile agent without even presence of any apriori information of adversary. The outcome shows proposed system outshines existing security scheme in MANET.
A MALICIOUS USERS DETECTING MODEL BASED ON FEEDBACK CORRELATIONSIJCNC
The trust and reputation models were introduced to restrain the impacts caused by rational but selfish
peers in P2P streaming systems. However, these models face with two major challenges from dishonest
feedback and strategic altering behaviors. To answer these challenges, we present a global trust model
based on network community, evaluation correlations, and punishment mechanism. We also propose a
two-layered overlay to provide the function of peers’ behaviors collection and malicious detection.
Furthermore, we analysis several security threats in P2P streaming systems, and discuss how to defend
with them by our trust mechanism. The simulation results show that our trust framework can successfully
filter out dishonest feedbacks by using correlation coefficients. It can effectively defend against the
security threats with good load balance as well.

A vital technology in the next-generation cellular network is device-to-device (D2D) communication. Cellular user enabled with D2D communication provides high spectral efficiency and further increases the coverage area of the cell, especially for the end-cell users and blind spot areas. However, the implementation of D2D communication increases interference among the cellular and D2D users. In this paper, we proposed a radio resource allocation (RRA) algorithm to manage the interference using fractional frequency reuse (FFR) scheme and Hungarian algorithm. The proposed algorithm is divided into three parts. First, the FFR scheme allocates different frequency bands among the cell (inner and outer region) for both the cellular and the D2D users to reduce the interference. Second, the Hungarian weighted bipartite matching algorithm is used to allocate the resources to D2D users with the minimum total system interference, while maintaining the total system sum rate. The cellular users share the resources with more than one D2D pair. Lastly, the local search technique of swapping is used for further allocation to minimize the interference. We implemented two types of assignments, fair multiple assignment, and restricted multiple assignment. We compared our results with existing algorithms which verified that our proposed algorithm provides outstanding results in aspects like interference reduction and system sum rate. For restricted multiple assignment, 60-70% of the D2D users are allocated in average cases.
Design and Implementation of TARF: A Trust-Aware Routing Framework for WSNsijsrd.com
The multi-hop routing in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) offers little protection against identity deception through replaying routing information. An adversary can exploit this defect to launch various harmful or even devastating attacks against the routing protocols, including sinkhole attacks, wormhole attacks and Sybil attacks. The situation is further aggravated by mobile and harsh network conditions. Traditional cryptographic techniques or efforts at developing trust-aware routing protocols do not effectively address this severe problem. To secure the WSNs against adversaries misdirecting the multi-hop routing, we have designed and implemented TARF, a robust trust-aware routing framework for dynamic WSNs. Without tight time synchronization or known geographic information, TARF provides trustworthy and energy-efficient route. Most importantly, TARF proves effective against those harmful attacks developed out of identity deception; the resilience of TARF is verified through extensive evaluation with both simulation and empirical experiments on large-scale WSNs under various scenarios including mobile and RF-shielding network conditions. Further, we have implemented a low-overhead TARF module in Tiny OS; as demonstrated, this implementation can be incorporated into existing routing protocols with the least effort. Based on TARF, we also demonstrated a proof-of-concept mobile target detection application that functions well against an anti-detection mechanism.

to detect such selfish nodes. In this paper we follow an approach
of collaborative watchdog which reduces the detection
time for selfish nodes and also involves the removal of such
selfish nodes based on some progressively assessed thresholds.
The threshold gives the nodes a chance to stop misbehaving
before it is permanently deleted from the network.
The node passes through several isolation processes before it
is permanently removed. Another version of AODV protocol
is used here which allows the simulation of selfish nodes in
NS2 by adding or modifying log files in the protocol.

Optical network is an emerging technology for data communication
inworldwide. The information is transmitted from the source to destination
through the fiber optics. All optical network (AON) provides good
transmission transparency, good expandability, large bandwidth, lower bit
error rate (BER), and high processing speed. Link failure and node failure
haveconsistently occurred in the traditional methods. In order to overcome
the above mentioned issues, this paper proposes a robust software defined
switching enabled fault localization framework (SDSFLF) to monitor the
node and link failure in an AON. In this work, a novel faulty node
localization (FNL) algorithm is exploited to locate the faulty node. Then, the
software defined faulty link detection (SDFLD) algorithm that addresses the
problem of link failure. The failures are localized in multi traffic stream
(MTS) and multi agent system (MAS). Thus, the throughput is improved in
SDSFLF compared than other existing methods like traditional routing and
wavelength assignment (RWA), simulated annealing (SA) algorithm, attackaware RWA (A-RWA) convex, longest path first (LPF) ordering, and
biggest source-destination node degree (BND) ordering. The performance of
the proposed algorithm is evaluated in terms of network load, wavelength
utilization, packet loss rate, and burst loss rate. Hence, proposed SDSFLF
assures that high performance is achieved than other traditional techniques.

A Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is self-organizing,
decentralized and infrastructure-less wireless network. The
successful transmission of the data packet depends on the
complete cooperation of each node in the network. These types of
network don’t have permanent base station, so each node in the
network acts as a router. Due to openness, decentralized, selforganizing
nature of MANET, it is vulnerable to various attacks.
So security is the main concern in MANET.
In this project, we have considered 2 attacks; Vampire
attack and DDoS attacks. Vampire attack drains the energy of
the nodes. DDoS attack exhausts the resources available to a
network, such that the node cannot provide any services. Here,
we discuss methods 2 methods as a solution to our problem; one
is to prevent the attack from happening and other to detect and
recover from the attacks.
Mobile adhoc networks eliminate the need for pre-existing infrastructure by relying on the
nodes to carry all network activities.
The mobile ad hoc networks are more prone to suffer from malicious behaviors than the
traditional wired networks. Therefore, there is a need to pay more attention to the security issues in
the mobile ad hoc networks. Clustered Manets is a very promising area of research due to its
infrastructure less capability. They have many advantages such as improved bandwidth, power
consumption and QoS of the network but one disadvantage is security. This paper has been prepared
keeping in mind that it needs to prove itself to be a valuable resource dealing with both the important
core and the specialized security issues in this area.
Minimum Process Coordinated Checkpointing Scheme For Ad Hoc Networks pijans
The wireless mobile ad hoc network (MANET) architecture is one consisting of a set of mobile hosts
capable of communicating with each other without the assistance of base stations. This has made possible
creating a mobile distributed computing environment and has also brought several new challenges in
distributed protocol design. In this paper, we study a very fundamental problem, the fault tolerance
problem, in a MANET environment and propose a minimum process coordinated checkpointing scheme.
Since potential problems of this new environment are insufficient power and limited storage capacity, the
proposed scheme tries to reduce the amount of information saved for recovery. The MANET structure used
in our algorithm is hierarchical based. The scheme is based for Cluster Based Routing Protocol (CBRP)
which belongs to a class of Hierarchical Reactive routing protocols. The protocol proposed by us is nonblocking coordinated checkpointing algorithm suitable for ad hoc environments. It produces a consistent
set of checkpoints; the algorithm makes sure that only minimum number of nodes in the cluster are
required to take checkpoints; it uses very few control messages. Performance analysis shows that our
algorithm outperforms the existing related works and is a novel idea in the field. Firstly, we describe an

This document summarizes a research paper on reducing packet loss in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). The paper discusses how MANETs are vulnerable to various security threats like black hole attacks that can cause packet dropping. It evaluates existing authentication schemes like ACK-based schemes that have overhead issues. The paper then proposes a modified ACK-based scheme using finite state automata to overcome decision ambiguity and minimize packet dropping while authenticating nodes in the MANET. Simulation results show that the proposed approach improves packet delivery ratio, throughput and reduces routing load compared to not using secure authentication.

Node movement is implemented by movement models. These are either synthetic models or existing movement traces. Connectivity between the nodes is based on their location, communication range and the bit-rate. The routing function is implemented by routing modules that decide which messages to forward over existing contacts. Finally, the messages themselves are generated either through event generators that generate random traffic between the nodes, or through applications that generate traffic based on application interactions. The main functions of the simulator are the modelling of node movement, inter-node contacts using various interfaces, routing, message handling and application interactions. Result collection and analysis are done through visualization, reports and post-processing tools.
There are number of cluster based routing algorithms in mobile ad hoc networks. Since ad hoc networks are not accompanied by fixed access points, efficient routing is a must for such networks. Clustering approach is applied in mobile ad hoc network because clusters are more easily manageable and are more viable. It consists of segregating the given network into several reasonable clusters by using a clustering algorithm. By performing clustering we elect a worthy node from the cluster as the cluster head in such a way that we strive to reduce the management overheads and thus increasing the efficiency of routing. As for the fact that nodes in mobile ad hoc network have frequent host change and frequent topology change routing plays an important role for maintenance and backup mechanism to stabilize network performance. This paper aims to review the previous research papers and provide a survey on the various cluster based routing protocols in mobile ad hoc network. White layer thickness (WLT) formed and surface roughness in wire electric discharge turning (WEDT) of tungsten carbide composite has been made to model through response surface methodology (RSM). A Taguchi’s standard Design of experiments involving five input variables with three levels has been employed to establish a mathematical model between input parameters and responses. Percentage of cobalt content, spindle speed, Pulse on-time, wire feed and pulse off-time were changed during the experimental tests based on the Taguchi’s orthogonal array L27 (3^13). Analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed that the mathematical models obtained can adequately describe performance within the parameters of the factors considered. There was a good agreement between the experimental and predicted values in this study.

Data were collected through a structured questionnaire containing a five point Likert Scale. The study examined the data of 30 transgender entrepreneurs in Salem Municipal Corporation of Tamil Nadu State, India. Simple Random sampling technique was used. Garrett Ranking Technique (Percentile Position, Mean Scores) was used as the analysis for the present study to identify the top 13 stimulus factors for establishment of trans entrepreneurial venture. Economic advancement of a nation is governed upon the upshot of a resolute entrepreneurial doings. Presently transgenders have smashed their stereotypes and are making recent headlines of achievements in various fields of our Indian society. The prototype of a voice-based ATM for visually impaired using Arduino is to help people who are blind. This uses RFID cards which contain users fingerprint encrypted on it and interacts with the users through voice commands. ATM operates when sensor detects the presence of one person in the cabin. After scanning the RFID card, it will ask to select the mode like –normal or blind. User can select the respective mode through voice input, if blind mode is selected the balance check or cash withdraw can be done through voice input. Using the exploratory research design and 255 participants the result of this original study indicates strong positive correlation between emotional intelligence and effective human resource management. For this study, Thirty-six non-clinical employees were selected from twelve randomly selected Health Care organizations at Thanjavur. Thirty-two fully completed questionnaires were received.

The goal of this study was to see how talent management affected employee retention in the selected IT organizations in Chennai. The fundamental issue was the difficulty to attract, hire, and retain talented personnel who perform well and the gap between supply and demand of talent acquisition and retaining them within the firms. The study's main goals were to determine the impact of talent management on employee retention in IT companies in Chennai, investigate talent management strategies that IT companies could use to improve talent acquisition, performance management, career planning and formulate retention strategies that the IT firms could use. The respondents were given a structured close-ended questionnaire with the 5 Point Likert Scale as part of the study's quantitative research design. The target population consisted of 289 IT professionals. The questionnaires were distributed and collected by the researcher directly. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to collect and analyse the questionnaire responses. Hypotheses that were formulated for the various areas of the study were tested using a variety of statistical tests. The key findings of the study suggested that talent management had an impact on employee retention. The studies also found that there is a clear link between the implementation of talent management and retention measures. Management should provide enough training and development for employees, clarify job responsibilities, provide adequate remuneration packages, and recognise employees for exceptional performance.

Only 303 respondents were collected out of 350 participants to whom questionnaires were distributed. From the employees of IT organizations located in Bangalore (India), the data were congregated. A simple random sampling methodology was employed to congregate data as of the respondents. Generating the hypothesis along with testing is eventuated. The effect of EI and TM along with regression analysis between TM and EI was analyzed. NPA do not generate any income, whereas, the bank is required to make provisions for such as assets that why is a double edge weapon. This paper outlines the concept of quality of bank loans of different types like Housing, Agriculture and MSME loans in state Haryana of selected public and private sector banks. This study is highlighting problems associated with the role of commercial bank in financing Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SME). The overall objective of the research was to assess the effect of the financing provisions existing for the setting up and operations of MSMEs in the country and to generate recommendations for more robust financing mechanisms for successful operation of the MSMEs, in turn understanding the impact of MSME loans on financial institutions due to NPA. There are many research conducted on the topic of Non- Performing Assets (NPA) Management, concerning particular bank, comparative study of public and private banks etc. In this paper the researcher is considering the aggregate data of selected public sector and private sector banks and attempts to compare the NPA of Housing, Agriculture and MSME loans in state Haryana of public and private sector banks. The tools used in the study are average and Anova test and variance. The findings reveal that NPA is common problem for both public and private sector banks and is associated with all types of loans either that is housing loans, agriculture loans and loans to SMES. NPAs of both public and private sector banks show the increasing trend. In 2010-11 GNPA of public and private sector were at same level it was 2% but after 2010-11 it increased in many fold and at present there is GNPA in some more than 15%. It shows the dark area of Indian banking sector.

An experiment conducted in this study found that BaSO4 changed Nylon 6's mechanical properties. By changing the weight ratios, BaSO4 was used to make Nylon 6. This Researcher looked into how hard Nylon-6/BaSO4 composites are and how well they wear. Experiments were done based on Taguchi design L9. Nylon-6/BaSO4 composites can be tested for their hardness number using a Rockwell hardness testing apparatus. On Nylon/BaSO4, the wear behavior was measured by a wear monitor, pinon-disc friction by varying reinforcement, sliding speed, and sliding distance, and the microstructure of the crack surfaces was observed by SEM. This study provides significant contributions to ultimate strength by increasing BaSO4 content up to 16% in the composites, and sliding speed contributes 72.45% to the wear rate

The need to develop social entrepreneurship in agriculture is dictated by a large number of social problems. Such problems include low living standards, unemployment, and social tension. The reasons that led to the emergence of the practice of social entrepreneurship are the above factors. The research problem lays upon disclosing the importance of role of social entrepreneurship in rural development of India. The paper the tendencies of social entrepreneurship in India, to present successful examples of such business for providing recommendations how to improve situation in rural areas in terms of social entrepreneurship development. OPTIMAL RECONFIGURATION OF POWER DISTRIBUTION RADIAL NETWORK USING HYBRID MET...IAEME Publication
Distribution system is a critical link between the electric power distributor and the consumers. Most of the distribution networks commonly used by the electric utility is the radial distribution network. However in this type of network, it has technical issues such as enormous power losses which affect the quality of the supply. Nowadays, the introduction of Distributed Generation (DG) units in the system help improve and support the voltage profile of the network as well as the performance of the system components through power loss mitigation. In this study network reconfiguration was done using two meta-heuristic algorithms Particle Swarm Optimization and Gravitational Search Algorithm (PSO-GSA) to enhance power quality and voltage profile in the system when simultaneously applied with the DG units. Backward/Forward Sweep Method was used in the load flow analysis and simulated using the MATLAB program. Five cases were considered in the Reconfiguration based on the contribution of DG units. The proposed method was tested using IEEE 33 bus system. Based on the results, there was a voltage profile improvement in the system from 0.9038 p.u. to 0.9594 p.u.. The integration of DG in the network also reduced power losses from 210.98 kW to 69.3963 kW. Simulated results are drawn to show the performance of each case.

In this paper, we investigated a queuing model of fuzzy environment-based a multiple channel queuing model (M/M/C) ( /FCFS) and study its performance under realistic conditions. It applies a nonagonal fuzzy number to analyse the relevant performance of a multiple channel queuing model (M/M/C) ( /FCFS). Based on the sub interval average ranking method for nonagonal fuzzy number, we convert fuzzy number to crisp one. Numerical results reveal that the efficiency of this method. Intuitively, the fuzzy environment adapts well to a multiple channel queuing models (M/M/C) ( /FCFS) are very well.

developing low-cost internet services on remote area moreover it can be used for vehicle DTNs for
local advertising, location-based information collection such as traffic reports and parking
information. However, the practical DTNs implementation is questionable because its characteristics
making them vulnerable to serious security threats. In the system every node predicted that
intermediate nodes (or vehicles) are relaying the message properly. However malicious node not
carries the message properly in the network which causes multi-hop communications to fail and
detection of their presence may be hard. DTNs relay carriers sharing which is the essential
requirement, but this cannot be guarantee because selfish nodes can avoid participating for other
messages. On other hand malicious node creates the black hole which carries out attacks by
deliberately dropping messages. Overcome these attacks is a real challenge due to the connectivity and
distributed nature of DTNs. DTN are resource constrained in nature to save its own resources and
nodes may develop selfish behavior. In which its drop the packet of other nodes to maximize its own
credit or benefits. Such nodes increase the message drop probability and reduce the message delivery
rate. In this paper, we propose a dynamic trust based approach to protect network from black hole and
selfish attacks. The rest of the paper is organized as follows: the second section provides a brief
discussion of the most recent relative literatures of DTNs and the system model is defined in third
section. The fourth section explains the proposed algorithm and the simulated results and the fifth
section explain about conclusion and future work on the basis of the simulation results presented in
fourth section.
2. LITERATURE REVIEW
Since the security in the DTN has already an open issue hence this section presents a brief review of
some of the recent and relevant literatures. E. Bulut [2] presented a study on DTNs in presence of
malicious nodes (also known as compromised DTNs). The literature analyzes the effects of malicious
nodes presence on routing in compromised DTNs. They also proposed a two period routing to
achieving the required delivery ratio with limited packet lifetime in presence of malicious nodes. The
variants of social psychology based approach is one of the commonly found and widely applied [3] [4]
[11] [12] because of their similarity with structure of the DTNs. These methods works by checking
social characteristics like locality, community and relations to decide packet forwarding or consider
other characteristics such as selfishness, unwillingness to avoid packet forwarding. Most of the
literature shows that these techniques can effectively improve the routing performance of DTN. A
combined social psychology and game theory is presented in [3] [8] which utilize the game theory to
find the solution and cause of the social misbehaving. A probabilistic technique for nodes misbehavior
detection and efficient trust establishment named iTrust is proposed by Haojin Zhu [8]. The iTrust
utilizes the Trust Authority (TA) to periodically check the nodes behavior by cost. Trust Authority is
small in numbers because it is fixed and little bit costly, so availability of TA probability cannot be
guaranteed if network size is large. Another common approach [11] is trust management which works
by estimating the trust level of the nodes either by locally orglobally. Generally the trust is estimated
by observing the packets in surrounding environment. Since the trust estimated by any node is shows
its own criteria or vision and the major problem with such systems are false negative trust estimation
because of nodes visibility, hence effective approaches are required to reduce the false detection.
Geographic routing protocol is one of the recent approaches but they required special costly hardware
such as GPS, directional antennas etc. Ing-Ray Chen [9] proposed and analyzes the trust management
protocols for encounter based routing. They incorporated in quality-of-service (QoS) trust properties
(connectivity) and social trust based properties (honesty and unselfishness) for trust evaluation in the
routing protocol. In their literature review two different protocols, an equal-weight QoS, social trust
based management protocol and a QoS only trust management protocol are considered. A Credit
Based Incentive System is proposed in [5], which allows the routing protocol to search the most
efficient routes, with incentive considerations, hence protect against behavior of purposely waste
transfer opportunity and unfairly increased rewards of selfish nodes. The algorithm also provides

different incentive mechanisms to effectively handle different properties. A secure data forwarding
scheme is presented by Mohamed Elsalih Mahmoud [6], they named it SATS. The SATS uses credits
to measure the node’s cooperation in forwarding other node’s messages and to maintain fairness. It
also utilizes a trust system to assign a specific trust value to each node. A node’s trust value indicates
that how actively it forwards other’s messages. The nodes with high trust values are preferable in data
forwarding to avoid the attackers that are not participating in routing process. The SATS forces nodes
for cooperation to only earn trust but also maintain it at higher values. Haojin Zhu [7] proposed a
multilayer credit based incentive technique, to encourage forwarding cooperation among DTN nodes.
The scheme has feature to operate in a fully distributed manner to defend various attacks without
depending upon any specialized hardware. The performance of proposed method is further increased
by different optimization techniques by exploiting the unique characteristics of DTNs.
3. SYSTEM MODEL
In the present work we consider the DTN environment without any centralized trusted authority (TA).
Nodes are able to use multi hops communication. Node exchanges the information on encounters with
another node.
3.1. System Behavior and Model
The system behavior of the node is defined as the unwillingness of node in participation of its
resources on others requirement, this is generally done to maintain its limited resources such as power.
Since DTNs required participation of all nodes in packet relaying this could cause severe degradation
of the performance. They considered selfish nodes acts for its own interests, so to save energy it just
drop the packet but it may decide to forward a message with a certain probability. Two kind of
selfishness: 1. Individual Selfishness: Here node forwards only those packets which are generated by it
and drop packets from other node. 2. Social Selfishness: Here nodes are willing to forward packets for
other nodes with whom they have social connect but not others and such willingness varies with the
strength.Strategies [13] for prevention of selfishness are as follows: 1. Barter Based 2. Credit Based 3.
Reputation Based Barter Based is pair wise Tit-For-Tat strategy. The procedure is that two encounter
nodes exchange the equal value of messages. A message in which the nodes are interested is called
primary message and other are secondary messages, hence it degrades the performance of nodes
drastically.
Credit Based strategy are cooperative to forward the messages, the idea is to gets certain amount of
credit as a reward that it can later explore for its own profit. Credit Based are generally of two types:
Message Purse Model and Message Trade Model. In Message Purse Model source node pay credits to
the intermediate nodes which are involve in forward the messages to the destination. In Message Trade
Model the sender of the message pay credits to receivers in each hop-by-hop transmission until the
message reach the destination, which finally pays credits for the message forwarding. Reputation
Based strategy based upon cooperative experiences and observation of its past activities. If the
reputation value of a node is less, it reflects that the node is selfish according to other nodes, otherwise
Cooperative nature to the nodes. Each intermediate node receives a reputation value after pass a
message to other nodes. The reputation value is a proof about the cooperative nature of the
intermediate node. Reputation Based are generally of two types: Detection Based Model and Without
Detection Based Model. In Detection Based every node detects the behaviour of the receiver which
receives the message from him, in order to monitor the selfishness and encourage them to be
cooperative in nature. In reputation the node is punished if it is not cooperate in nature. Reputation is
also used in Social Selfishness Aware Routing (SSAR), the performance of the node is not affected by
the not well-behaved nodes. First check the willingness of receiving node if it is ready then the
message with higher delivery probability in the network is transferred.When a node behave as a selfish
then forward the messages only to its community while a malicious node aims to break all the

protocols of basic DTN routing functionality. A malicious node drops the packets and also performs
the trust related attacks:
• Self-promoting attacks: To attract other packets in the network its increase own importance by
providing good credits or recommendations for itself.
• Bad-monitoring attacks: It decreases the probability of packet routing through good nodes by providing
bad recommendations and its ruin the reputation of well-behaved nodes.
• Ballot stuffing: It increase the probability of packet transfer through malicious node by proving good
recommendations to the bad nodes, it increase the reputation of not well-behaved nodes. A malicious
node attacker performs random attacks to evade detection. We introduce a new random attack
probability to reflect random attack behavior. When random attack probability is equal to 1, the
malicious attacker is a reckless attacker, when random attack probability is less than 1 it is a random
attacker. The node trust value is directly accessed by the trust evaluation and indirect trust value by
recommendations. Upon the encounter process the one node trust is depend upon other.
Trust protocol is independently run by each node. Most of the detection scheme [14] focuses on
the detection of node. However after detection how their behavior can change and how they can be
motivated to avoid such malicious behavior haven’t been explained anywhere. We have also focused
on the scenario when an honestly behaved node changes it’s behavior then how it’s should be
motivated to do honest behaviour.
4. CONCLUSION
In this paper, we first classified the selfish behavior in DTNs and then existing strategies for
preventing selfish behavior. We subsequently analyzed the mechanisms and explored techniques of
the proposed strategies. Further, we pointed out the problems in previous technique. The previous
strategy cannot work in an environment in which the node saves a high probability of being selfish to
other nodes. But, we conducted an experiment to investigate the performance of the representative
strategies in each category. The results of our experiment illustrate that the performance of proposed
strategies outperforms the previous technique.
