2. Front cover
• Iggy Azalea’s genre is typically rap/pop.
• To show this we used very bright colors ,
which connotes that she is still feminine but
this contrasts with the dark tones on the left
side of her face
• The right side of her body shows glamour
whereas the left is fierce which could
emphasize the difference between the rap
and pop genre
• This is also shown in the difference in fonts
that we chose to use. Her name is written in
a very groovy and funky font which
emblems the pop/rap genre.
• The font for ‘The New Classic’ is very girly
and emphasizes her femininity.
• The red and darkness of the background
almost suggests the rebellious side of her
character that is reflected in her music.
Which is shown in the later song titles in the
back cover.
• Her tattoo contrasts with her overall
appearance as her clothes, hair and
makeup is very well groomed and really
highlights her femininity which juxtaposes
with the tattoo that suggests a rebellious
side.
• The different variety of bright colors that are
included in the background, text and her
costume suggests the loudness and fast
pace of the pop music.
3. RED LIPSTICK
- sexual, seductive
and very bold
suggesting her music
being loud, fast-paced
as pop genre.
Hiding behind
sunglasses not
revealing her eyes
,suggesting that she
has a hidden side to
her (rap)
Her posture is very
inviting and open…
Suggests a male
gaze to interest the
viewer – persuade
them to buy the
album
Very girly font in pink
– femininity.
Background is plain
and pure – suggests
that she is iconic and
makes her the main
focus of the image.
CD
4. Eyes closed – day
dreaming element.
Clothes are very bright and funky suggests
that she is very bold and different. She is
known for her quirkiness.
Well groomed – conforms to
female stereotypes however, the
rap genre contradicts this
Rap lyrics highlights
this point…
Looks innocent
because she is
closing her eyes and
smiling , but her lyrics
contradict this
however the fading of
her figure ,connotes
that this loss of
innocence is
portrayed in her lyrics
Lyric booklet
5. Most of her songs
are based and
created around
women
“Lady Patra”
was a female
dancehall dj,
conveys that
Iggy likes to
challenge the
female
stereotype
She is the
main focus
which
attracts the
buyer
Women can do
whatever men can ,
which maybe
suggests that she is
a feminist
Against love because
it is associated with
relationships , which
can be brought down
by men
