3. The use of all three my products, the music video,
digipak and magazine advert were created to
support one another.
*Synergy enabled me to connect all three of my
products by using similar images of my artist
which manages to promote my artist and my
other products. When creating my music video,
I took time from shooting footage to take still
photos at the location of where were filming
which was London Piccadilly and also within
other areas of Central London e.g Regent St.
and Carnaby St.
When creating the print products I experimented
with using screenshots from the actual music
video but the picture quality wasn’t as great as
the actual photographs I took. If I had used the
screenshots from the actual video the print
products and the video would have been
connected completely as they all have identical
images within them.
It was vital that I connected my products to create
synergy because this helps me promote my
work as each product manages to promote
each other at the same time.
4. The way these products manage to develop
each other is without the main product
which is the Music Video, the other
ancillary texts wouldn’t exist because
there would be no need for them.
All the development for the ancillary texts,
began when I was shooting the footage
for the music video because I had to
plan what type of imagery would be
suitable to put onto a digipak and what
would work on a magazine advert.
The way that the ancillary texts develop
each other is that I was able to use
multiple images from different
locations and keep them connected by
keeping my artist involved within both
products especially in my magazine
advert as I was able to display the front
cover of my digipak which shows some
advertisement.
5. My target audience, which were young
adults/teenagers who enjoyed the pop genre.
Their response towards my media products
were positive, they all claimed to have said that
it would appeal to them as it seems to have the
look of a product from the pop genre.
My audiences attention were caught by the group
dancing scenes which generally showed the
video to be like a party, they felt that this was
truly like any other pop music video.
The synergy between all three of my media
products work pretty well, because from what
feedback I have got from my target audience is
that there is a clear connection between my
main product which was my music video and
my other two ancillary texts which were my
Digipak and Magazine Advert.
This was due to the images which are used to
create my ancillary texts were the images which
were shot from the locations during filming
footage, such as the iconic streets of Central
London with my artist singing in front of the
Piccadilly Advertisement Boards
6. My feelings towards my final products, are that I’m
proud to present this as my work, because
although it was a long process to plan on how I
would be able to put something of this standard
together was beyond me, creating my main
product, the music video was the most
enjoyable to create. The reason for this is
because when you work with a group of young
people to create a music video which is about
positive vibes and having fun, it just made it
easier to make because it no longer felt like a
task because it was so enjoyable to to do.
When creating my ancillary texts I felt as if it was
more challenging because I had to work alone
on this and I didn’t have the positive and fun
atmosphere around me but although it was
harder to create it was still a joy to present it.
Overall I feel that my products were successfully
created and that I am proud of how they turned
out
