Ielts Essay Question
Writing an essay on the given IELTS essay question can be a challenging task that demands a
combination of critical thinking, language proficiency, and effective communication skills. The
difficulty lies not only in addressing the specific prompts but also in crafting a coherent and
well-structured piece that adheres to the academic conventions expected in IELTS essays.
Firstly, understanding the intricacies of the topic is crucial. The IELTS essay questions often
cover a wide range of subjects, requiring the writer to be well-versed in diverse fields.
Researching and gathering relevant information to support your arguments can be time-
consuming, especially if the topic is unfamiliar or complex.
Moreover, achieving the appropriate level of formality and academic tone is essential. Striking
the right balance between clarity and sophistication while adhering to the prescribed word limit
can be a daunting task. Organizing ideas logically, developing a strong thesis statement, and
providing evidence to support your claims are all integral components that add to the complexity
of the writing process.
Additionally, language proficiency plays a pivotal role. A successful essay not only conveys
ideas effectively but also showcases a rich vocabulary, varied sentence structures, and accurate
grammar usage. Non-native English speakers may find it particularly challenging to express
complex thoughts fluently and coherently.
Furthermore, time management is crucial during the IELTS exam. The pressure of completing the
essay within a specified timeframe can add an extra layer of difficulty. It requires not only quick
thinking but also the ability to synthesize information rapidly and express ideas clearly.
In conclusion, writing an essay on an IELTS essay question is a multifaceted challenge that
demands a combination of skills, including topic understanding, research, language proficiency,
time management, and adherence to academic conventions. Aspiring candidates may find it
beneficial to practice regularly and seek guidance to enhance their essay writing skills.

Chemistry Lab On And Electric Vehicle
I ve learned so much from working and competing in Science Olympiad. There were
four competitions that were scheduled for me to compete in: Forensics, Chemistry
Lab, Game On and Electric Vehicle. There was a lot of preparation and commitment
that had to be put in. A slight mishap happened in Forensics we found out that only
two teams could compete, so my team had to drop out , ChemistryLab was mainly
basic kinetics and gas laws during GameOn we had to learn Scratch and then use that
knowledgeto create a game, The last event was Keltic Vehicle, in this event we had to
pre design a vehicle. It would be scored by how accurate it was. I am glad I was able
to pick the events to see if would really enjoy that class or occupation.... Show more

It helped working together because we could share ideas to each other. The Scratch
program was simple and easy to master. We did really well at studying and mastering
the program.
There were some issues with designing the background and characters. The limited
time made it hard to make a complicated and interesting game. The game wasn t as
accurate as we had hoped but it was one of my favorites. We also actually knew
what we were doing. With the knowledge in Scratch I know that I ll do better next
year. Doing gome on made me realise how much I enjoyed programming, and I
know that skill will come in handy later in life.
For Electric Vehicle I learned that time is very important with designing and
programming but working on the vehicle was different we remodeled it about
three times to make it work correctly and stop swerving to the left. The rules were
simple: make the vehicle come to a complete stop when it hits the set distance. Our
way of building the vehicle was to base it on a click system; in the system we had
buttons that had a certain amount of time it would make the motors go for. The
rules stated that the vehicle had to be between nine to twelve meters , (in distance
of which it could travel), but at the competition it was eleven meters. When
preparing for the distance runs we had to figure out how many clicks it took to go
one meter. Unfortunately, it was a little more complex; it accelerated so it didn t go
at a linear rate,
Similarities Between Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Griffin
The aim of this essay is to focus on the description and analysis of the two literary
roles, the oppressor and the tolerant, which are clearly identified on Treasure Island,
both related to two of the main characters of the novel: the pirate Long John Silver
and Doctor Livesey. Moreover, this essay makes a comparison between these two
characters with the main characters of the novelDoctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, since
Stevenson describes a similar image of the characters where it is easy to identify the
same two roles.
It is essential to identify the two clearest roles that Stevenson describes in his novel,
as I have mentioned before, the oppressor and the tolerant, which, in turn, can be
identified with the idea of the good and loyal character ... Show more content on

In this novel, we can classify in an apparent way the good, which appears
personified in the characters of Jim and of the Doctor Livesey, and the evil, which
appears personified in the two figures of the pirates Pew and Long John Silver.
The point of view that the writer offers us about the division between the good and
the evil is a constant idea that is repeated in all of the fantastic and adventure books
that were written by Stevenson. After reading more than one of his novels, the reader
can identify these two literary roles in the main characters that he describes and,
therefore, it is inevitable to create a comparative idea among the characters of his
novels, until to get the conclusion that the author creates a similar connection
between all of them by introducing them and describing them in a similar way.
In one of the most well known books of the author as it is Doctor Jekyll and Mr.
Hyde, we can see how these two literary roles are repeated in their main characters.
After analyzing and comparing them, it is easy to find a great resemblance in their
physical and psychological descriptions with the characters of Long John Silver and
Dr. Livesey in Treasure Island. Actually, in both cases the personality of the
characters is clearly opposite each
Gm and Avtovaz of Russia
GM and AvtoVAZ of Russia Introduction In June of 2001 General Motors and
AvtoVAZ were sitting down to finally negotiate a deal that they had originally
made in 1999. The joint venture was to see the two companies jointly build and
sell Chevrolets in the Russian market. The Russian market was expected to boom
and account for a significant share of global growth over the next decade. This was
also a step forward to help revive the economy in postcommunist Russia. GM
founded in 1908, was the largest automaker in the world. GM had managed
operations in over 50 countries and sold over $160 billion in sales with $4.4 in
profits alone in the year 2000. GM did have problems of its as their market share had
diminished to a mere 13.6%... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Doing business with AvtoVAZ would allow GM to produce a high volume of
automobiles for a much cheaper cost. 2. What institutional or industrial factors
continue to make the Russian automobile market so difficult to compete in? Legal
issues and the government were the two factors that made it hard for and company
to invest interest into the Russian auto industry market. In July of 200 the Russian
Tax Police accused AvtoVAZ of tax fraud. The accusations did not look god for the
largest automobile manufacturer in Russia. They were accused of falsifying and
under reporting vehicle identification numbers. The legal troubles and the way the
government tried to intervene did not promote a positive image for AvtoVAZ. 3.
What strengths does AutoVAZ bring to the joint venture and what does GM bring?
Are they a good fit? Why or why not? AvtoVAZ had to main strengths. The first
strength being the Niva SUV and the other strength being that they were already
the largest automobile manufacturer in Russia. General Motor s strengths were that
of the companies success and willingness to enter a Russia market that could either
be a big success or complete failure. They seemed to be a good fit as AvtoVAZ was
going to be able to produce more cars with the help of General Motors and would be
able to finally establish as an international manufacturer. 4. As a potential partner,
what challenges does AutoVAZ present to General Motors and how has GM managed

The Origin Of The Lolita Subcultures
Finding out what to wear in the morning is a part of everyone s morning routine,
but when it comes to fashion trends what you wear appears to become more
important. Reading magazines and watching celebrates on the red carpet are a
few ways in which people find out what is popular to dress in something that is
will make them fit in and be up to date with the fashion of the time. In the other
hand there are people who do exactly the opposite, more specifically those within
the Lolita subculture. The Lolita subculture is a Japanese fashion subculture
known for its Victorian period clothing style corsets, petticoats, and lace. What
makes this fashion style unique is its similarities with 19th century girl and doll
dresses (AdГЁle Hardy Bernal, 2011, p. 20), but Lolitas were not dressing up in
Victorian clothes without a reason. The origins of the Lolita subculture can be
traced back to as far as the late 1980 s. Similar to the start of the British Punk
subculture, in the 1980 s Japan went through a drastic economic change referred to
as the Bubble Burst or the burst of the Bubble Economy. During the time of the
Bubble Burst several people were laid off from their jobs, women became stay at
home mothers, and overall the youth lost hope for a successful future in Japan. The
state of the economy caused anger, disappointment. The youth in Japan began to care
less about the traditional Japanese values such as dedication to your job, and the
respect of elders. People all over
First Time Filing Taxes
First Time Filing Taxes After A Divorce? What You Need To Know About
Deductions Taxes may be your last concern when it comes to a divorce, but it is a
reality that you will eventually need to face. One question you may have is about
who can deduct your children by counting them as a dependent. Don t make the
wrong assumption that the parent with legal custody gets this deductions, since
the deduction could be split. Here is what you need to know. Consider How Long
The Child Lives At Your Place You should be keeping track of the amount of days
that a child spends at your place and your former spouse s place. If your child is
spending at least 183 days at your home, or more than half the year, then you will

How Old Your Child is The IRS will let you claim your child as a dependent if they
are 18 years old or younger. If they are going to college, the age limit gets bumped up

they deserve the tax credit. Consider Your Child s
Slender Man Monologue
Inspired by Haunted by Evanescence. Watch out for the Slender Man! I heard a
voice on the playground say. I looked to the left where I heard the voice call out. It
was some of my classmates, Jason and Zachary. Zach, everyone knows that Slender
Man is obviously a urban legend. No one is scared of Slender Man anymore
anyways. Jason commented. Zachary just laughed. Yeah. But just wait. He might
find you someday! Zachary burst into a fit of laughter. Jason just scoffed. I didn t
know who exactly this Slender Man guy was... I always heard my classmates talk
about him a lot for some reason. I never really thought about him...much. The only
thing I did know, was he can come to life if you think about him too much and also

Single Gender vs Coed Classrooms
Single Gender vs Coed Classrooms
Do you believe that single gender elementary classrooms are better for children s
education rather than traditional coeducational classrooms, or vice versa? There are
many differences in boy brains and girl brains and according to these differences; it
may be potential to have different learning techniques and environments. Some
schools are adopting the newer curriculum of single gender classrooms to help
children achieve a better educational learning environment that suits both boys and
girls separately. Although it is not fully understood if it is a better educationchoice, a
lot of studies show that single gender classrooms can be useful to help improve
achievement. However, other experts may think otherwise because they do not
believe that there is any significant evidence that prove it is necessary to separate
genders since every single person is different or that it may even deny equal
opportunities. A comparison of the single gender classrooms versus traditional
classrooms both shows the belief for higher education, but I believe single gender
classrooms offer a positive alternative to the traditional mixed classrooms.
Over the years, research experts discovered new ways on how each gender develops
and processes information by using reliable technology such as MRI and PET which
are technology that allows you to see soft tissue and the anatomy structure. What they
have found is that girls have more active frontal lobes, which provide
Environmental Impacts Of The West Nile Virus
Lower return crops such as corn, wheat, cotton and rice will bear the brunt of this
whereas the higher return crops such as nuts, citrus and vine crops will be least
affected (Kowalski, 2015).
As a historically semi arid environment, California has also suffered heavily from
several environmental impacts as a result of the current drought conditions. The first
of these is on its forests. The US Forest Service estimates that 12 million trees have
died in the past year due to drought; this combined with the drying of forest floor
material greatly increases the flammability of the landscape. The result of this is the
numerous devastating wildfires that have swept through the state throughout 2015,
costing not only wildlife and habitat but also human property (CBS News, 2015)
(Lustgarten, et al., 2015) (Google, 2015). Aside from wildfires, the drought and
associated loss of habitat is said to be having a negative effect on both flora and
fauna due to their contribution to the spread of West Nile Virus, whilst also
threatening populations of geese, ducks, salmon and Joshua trees (Lustgarten, et al.,
2015) (Beaudry, 2015). Finally, with groundwater contributing up to 50% of stream
flow in drought, there is a worry that over usage near the coast could result in
irreversible salinization through the drawing in of salt water (USGS, 2016) (Kasler
Reese, 2015).
Economic effects other than those resulting from agricultural losses are also
important when considering the current

Penny Was A Girl And Her Parents Pride And Joy
Penny was a lovely girl and her parents pride and joy. She was loved by everyone in
her small town because not only was she beautiful to look at, but Penny was also very
talented and extremely intelligent. So everyone was puzzled when she, showed no
interest in love or romantic relationships. And though there were many suitors she
rejected them all.
It wasn t just because she was picky, although she was. But Penny had a plan. For
as long as she could remember, she d wanted to leave her small town to live in the
big city and knew that she had to make sure not to let herself become distracted or
allow a boyfriend to interfere with those plans.
After years of hard work and dedication, Penny achieved her goal, she was accepted
to a university and graduated with honors, after that she started working at a firm and
was working her way through the ranks. But she still avoided love and rejected all
who showed a romantic interest in her. At this point her motherstarted to become
concerned with her daughters love life. Though she was proud of Penny for her
achievements and her ambition, Penny s mom did not want her daughter to be
lonely or alone and she wanted to get some grandkids while she was still able to
enjoy them. No matter how she tried to explain things, Penny could not get her
mother to understand that she was happy with her life and her decision to be
focused on her career and she did not feel like she was lacking anything in her life

Subculture Of Knitting
When some of us hear about knitting, we might automatically picture our grey haired
grandmother sitting on the couch casting on stitches to her knitting needles, but since
recently, this perception has started to shift. In this essay, I will look at the many
ways in which the subculture of knitting helps reduce depression. First, I will be
discussing how knittingcreates communities that help reduce depression. I will then
be describing how taking time to knit reduces depression. Furthermore, I will express
how the colors and texture of knitting yarnhas the capability of reducing depression.
Next, it will be mentioned how knitting allows freedom of expression which in turn
reduces depression. Lastly, I will discuss how knitting helps to build... Show more

She explains that it is a surprise to those who pass by, it is eye catching, and it
causes happiness because it is something that is out of place in this urban location
that is usually familiar to people and since it can be easily removed it carries no
negative intentions. She also puts forth that yarn bombing allows people to
express themselves while being able to connect to people and the space that
surrounds us. I recall walking out of the metro one day to find many trees yarn
bombed . It was interesting to see all the different colors that were blended together
so beautifully. It was as though it was meant to be there all along. The many
textures and techniques that were used were pleasing to the eye and it was
difficult to look away. Even though it stood out because most of the colors were
incredibly bright, it brought people close together because instead of walking by
as most of us usually do in the busy city, we took the time to stop and admire what
we saw in front of us. People would exchange words with each other about their
impressions about the color usage and about how unusual it was to see knitted
projects placed in and around the trees. These people would usually walk by each
other without so much as a glance, but it was the knitting that brought them together.
The very idea that individuals have the freedom to express themselves with knitting
to make other people feel a sense of happiness when looking at it is worth all of the
effort and time that it may
Supply Side Economic Policies
Why are economic policy so important? To evaluate it, people have to look at the
policies inside it. The supply side, demand side and monetary are all within economic
policies.
What is supply side economics to you? Well, Supply side economics are policies
designed to stimulate output and lower unemployment by increasing production
rather than demand. This policy gained support in the late 70 s. This policy used the
Laffer Curve which was a hypothetical relationship between federal tax rates and tax
revenues. The supply side does not focus on the money supply in things. What do you
know about demand side policies?
Demand side policies are federal policies designed to increase or decrease total
demand in the economy.
James Frey s Rehabilitation Journey
The beginning of James Frey s rehabilitation journey began when he was twenty
three. His family brought him to one of the best treatment facilities in the world
(Frey, 2003). This was only after he was put on a plan with no recollection of how
he came to be the bloody mess that he was and how he got to the plan. He knows
that if he does not except help now that there might be a real chance that he may
not live much longer. This is because he can no longer control his abusive
tendencies (Frey, 2003). James Frey overall seemed to be a very stubborn
individual and did not want to follow the rules. The rehabilitation facility had very
few strict rules. One at which being, to not talk to others of the opposite sex. James
defied this his very first night in the facility. This only became worse when he
began a relationship with same girl. James wanted to move forward and get better,
but he continually reminded himself that he would not be able to do it. It was only
over time that James did change and truly wanted to get sober (Frey, 2003). It is
possible that James Frey lacked the ability to cope with reality, this could be the
reason why he had turned to the use of drugs in the first place. He would use just
about anything, if it were present. While in treatment, James had to relearn how to
live his live without the use of drugs. He had suffered from Learned Helplessness,
which was clearly seen when we first were introduced to James. Frey also had no self
efficacy, he

Barry Allen In DC Comics
According to DC Comics the fastest character man alive is supposed to be Barry
Allen, but there is proof otherwise. In DC Comics there have been tests, races, and
fights to prove that Godspeed is the fastest character of all. Let s take a look at the
evidence.
To start we need to look at the original speedster Jay Garrick. Jay was the first Flash
and the only one to not wear a mask. In his original comic appearance he was the
only Flash in existence but when DC Comics came out with Barry Allen he was
sadly forgotten for a short time. After Barry started to gain popularity they had to
find someway to work Jay back into the main story. It was eventually shown that he
lived on an alternative world and that speedsters could cross back and forth to help
each other ( Flash ). He is usually recognized by his signature metal winged helmet
that has been around since the golden age of comics. Since it has been shown in the
comics that he is slower than Barry Allen he is automatically out of the race.
Barry Allen is arguably the most widely known Flash. He is the first Flash to don the
full red body suit and first to wear a mask. Before Barry became The Flash he was a
forensic scientist who was always late. After a particle accelerator exploded and
caused lightning to strike his lab Barry was sent into a coma ... Show more content on

The only evidence of a link to the speed force is his accelerated muscle growth, which
gives him super strength instead of speed. As for his twin sister Iris West II, well
she has more potential than anyone else to be the fastest in the family. Thanks to
her relation to Wally she is given a unique connection to the speed force. Since
wally is directly connected to the speed force it makes Iris II a living embodiment
of it. She has only recently taken up the role of Impulse but in the future she will
most likely be seen as the fastest in the family and maybe the first woman to take the
mantle of The Flash

The Threat of Global Warming May Lead to Global Cooling

Over the last few years almost everyone has heard that the earth is warming. Also,
almost everyone has heard the pleas to go green and reduce carbon emissions, led
by former Vice President Al Gore. Even though there is not a truly accurate
definition of global warming it can be roughly defined as a rise in average global
temperature according to Laurence Pringle s book Global WarmingAssessing the
Greenhouse Threat (19). Global Warming Assessing the Greenhouse Threat also

Picture this, some years from now winters will be exceptionally harsh in the

southern Canada, and the northern countries in Europe are unable to grow any
more. Also, glaciers that had been receding in the warm period of the late 1990s

during the warm period. If one thinks this is fiction, it has happened before. The
last time that a little ice age occurred it began around 1350 and lasted until the late
19th century. Also, this little ice age was preceded by a warm period with similar
temperature patterns as today s warming trends. Most of this data has been gathered
from sediment samples from Bermuda and ice core samples from Greenland ( Earth s

During the Medieval time from the years 700 to 1300 there was very warm time in
the history of the world. This time is referred to as the Medieval Warm Period or
the Medieval Climatic Optimum ( Earth s Climate History ). This period is believed
to have peaked around the year 1100. The climate was considerably warmer and
milder than it was before this time period. With this climate change food was able to
be grown in many areas where they were previously not grown. Some examples of
this are grapes being grown in southern England, and cereal crops successfully being
cultivated in Iceland ( Earth s Climate History ). Also, much of the

I felt I had a certain advantage. I believe Catherine did not want to come off as
being easy to get. It was the action of Catherine slapping Henry that made him feel
as though she wanted him even more now. This moment plays to Henry s
stereotypical idea of male power over Catherine in their relationship. After Henry s
desertion from the war, he begins to focus more on Catherine and her pregnancy. In
chapter thirty eight, Catherine asks Henry if she can cut her hair short, but Henry
replies, I wouldn t let you. Catherine eventually convinces Henry to not care if she
cuts her hair and this moment conveys the time when Henry has ultimately lost his
traditional idea of masculinity. He has now entered a more open mind set through his
desertion of the war and new domesticated life with
Essay about Greek History
Greek History In this book, the result of my inquiries into history, I hope to...preserve
the memory of the past by putting on record the astonishing achievements both of our
own and of the Asiatic peoples.... With this mission statement Herodotus introduces
his Histories, the first recorded history text in the western world. Using fragments of
the past he reconstructs a picture of the whole; the objects of his researches included
first hand accounts and tales passed down through generations, physical remains and
artifacts, and his own intelligence and creativity. Using sources such as these (though
he cites nothing), Herodotus describes the foundation of the Theran colony of
Cyrene, ca. 630 B.C.E.. In compiling... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The detail given in the Histories surpasses in amount that given in the degree
inscription but does not contain any overtly absurd or patently false accounts.
Herodotus description remains true to what is known about early Greek colonization:
the oracular role, economic and agricultural pressures spurring colonization, and the
mysterious and dangerous nature of unexplored territories. One aspect, given in both
Herodotus and the inscription, matches evidence of the period. The Theran decree
tells of Battos, Archagetes [founder] and king leading one hundred Therans to Africa;
Herodotus writes that with Battos as their leader and king...they sent two
pentekonters to [Africa], with each pentekonter containing fifty rowers each.
Herodotus says the colonists were chosen with brother drawing lots with brother; the
Theran decree relates that [o]n equal and fair terms shall they sail according to family.
The main differences between the two accounts lie not in conflicts, but in new
material. The inscription gives the rules to govern the actions of the colonists: their
rights of citizenship, the results of hardships to the colony. It also details how men
could be forced to join the colonization party, and that the consequence for disobeying
the order of the mother city was death. Herodotus remains silent on
The Cause Of The French Revolution
The Cause of the French Revolution
Throughout history, what remains true is that the people are the ones who start a
revolution. And when around 98% of a population is suffering to make a living,
there is little hope for those in power. Taxes levied only on the common folk,
crippling wars that left France with huge debts, and the careless spending of the
upper classes ultimately lead to the start of the revolution. The main political cause
was that the King had too much power but weak foreign policy leads to economic
downturn. The main social cause was that French society was too imbalanced but it
was truly economic exploitation of the lower class. The French Revolution had many
probable causes, all linked together, but none as important and defining as the
economic aspect.
There were social and political causes to the French Revolution but both derived
from economic cause. The imbalance of social classes was in part the root of the
lower classes hatred towards the upper class. But it was because the lower class
had no mobility in French Society that people started looking for change. Moving
up in rank or position was nearly impossible and those with power, always had the
power. This proved to be troublesome as one s hard work would not reap any benefits
and would still have to pay heavy taxes to provide lavish lives for those in the upper
class. As Dr. Gail Bossenga states in his book, Origins of the French Revolution,
perhaps the search for the social origins of the
The Types Of Tectonic Plate Interactions
1.Using the diagram above, explain any 3 of the 6 types of tectonic plate
interactions. Note: a larger version of this diagram is located in the CONTENT
section of this lesson. 1. Convergent Boundary of two Oceanic Plates: When two
oceanic plates collide, one of the plates is subducted under the other during the
collision. At the subduction zone, a deep trench is formed in the ocean floor.
Oceanic and oceanic plate convergence result in the formation of volcano chains.
Over millions of years, the lava and debris from the volcanic eruptions pile up on the
ocean floor until the volcano rises above sea level to form a volcanic island. These
types of islands are usually formed as chains called island arcs (which run parallel to
the trench). 2. Convergent Boundary of an Oceanic and Continental Plate: When an
oceanic plate collides with a continental plate, the crust forming the oceanic plate gets
bent and pulled under the continental crust (which is because the rocks that the
oceanic crust is comprised of are thicker than the rocks that form the continental
crust). The process where the oceanic crust is pulled under the continental crust is
called subduction and the zone at which this occurs at the plate boundaries is called
the subduction zone. It is at the subduction zone where the oceanic crust sinks
beneath the continental crust, forming a deep oceanic trench. As well, oceanic and
continental plate collisions can result in earthquakes, volcanoes and folded mountain
A Leader s Framework For Decision Making
In the article titled, A leader s framework for decision making , the authors David
Snowden and Mary E. Boone discuss the poor policy decisions at the governmental
level and the challenges facing uncompetitive local firms. The article explains how
managers rely on common leadership approaches that work well in one set of
circumstances but fall short of others. In the complex environment of the current
business world, leaders often will be called upon to act against their instincts. They
will need to know when to share power and when to wield it alone, when to look to
the wisdom of the group and when to take their own counsel. A deep understanding
of context, the ability to embrace complexityand paradox, and a willingness to
flexibly change leadershipstyle will be required for leaders who want to make things
happen in a time of increasing uncertainty (Snowden Boone, 2007).

Abortion Papers On Abortion
Abortion. Who decides?
ABORTION. A controversial issue. Whether you are pro life or pro choice. The
most life changing event of my life was just that. An abortion. A choice that many
WOMEN contemplate, every day, I had to face and deal with at the age of sixteen.
How I went from living a carefree life to being pregnant at sixteen. What brought me
to my decision and what life was like before, during and after the abortion. And how
it forever changed my life.
In 2001, I was sixteen years old. A junior at Gardena High School, in Los Angeles,
California. I was walking home and an older, much older, guy was standing
outside of the gate at high school and simply asked for my phone number. At the
time, I knew he was older, but my assumption was eighteen, nineteen. Only later to
find out, after I was already pregnant, that he was more like twenty three years of
age. With two kids, already. It was short lived. Not even long enough to consider it
a relationship . We hung out and messed around for a few months before I became
pregnant. Once I became pregnant, he wanted nothing to do with me. My parents
found out and I wasn t really given an option to keep the child. Even though I wasn
t told I had to have an abortion, I was told I couldn t stay with either of my
divorced parents if I decided to keep the child. So, my choice was made for me.
But to be honest, I didn t know if I would have wanted to keep the child or not. Had
I not been given those ultimatums, I m not sure if I

BIOGRAPHY REPORT ISAAC NEWTON Among all the scientists I have had a
chance to learn about, one of the famous is known as Isaac Newton, born in 1642
and deceased in 1742. Generally recognized as a physicist, he is proudly known
for his work in a lot of domain such as mathematics, optics and motion which are all
parts of physics. Born prematurely on Christmas day, he was fatherless and barely
three years old when his mom left him as his maternal grandmother s to get
remarried and build a second family: challenging childhood but full of promises.
Ten years later his mother Hanna, came back in Woolsthorpe, his natal town after
the dead of her second husband. Despite her long absence, Newton was still denied
of his mom s attention, thus a great contribution to his complex character. Newton s
childhood was anything but happy, and throughout his life he verged on emotional
collapse, occasionally falling into violent and vindictive attacks against friend and
foe alike. After his mother returned to the town, he was forced to quit school and
become a farmer, duty that he fortunately failed to fulfill. This failure led him back
to King s school at Grantham where he prepared his entrance to Trinity College at
Cambridge. The bigger challenge was to overcome the farmer live in profit of a
fructuous student life. His life therefore changed when he left Woolsthorpe for
Cambridge University. Little is known of Newton

Marketing is a business process that is central to the business performance as it
addresses the largest aspect of the company s competitive advantage in the market
place. Business needs to anticipate consumer behaviour through market research and
meetings the needs and wants of the consumer. The success of marketing depends on
the 7P s of marketing: Product, Price, Place, People, Process and Physical evidence.
The marketing strategies
Marketing involves getting the right product to the right place at the right time and
right price in the best suitable promotional activity.
The marketing strategy that the Coca Cola Company could have used is the universal
strategy which are based on three principles:
Acceptability through effective marketing, thus ensuring coke brands are part of
consumers daily life making it a everyday preferred drink internationally.
Affordability Coke must offer the right price so consumers may consider coke as an
everyday drink and that it is an affordable price.
Availability making sure that the product is available anywhere in the market place

Packaging is a process to eliminate the direct contact between product and

the product for protecting from environment and for better life of the product. In
19th century, industries were using candles for sealing. In last few years, many
sealing machines were developed. These machines are highly automated, which
have very high cost. So, these machines are not affordable by small scale industries.
In small industries, they are using impulse heat sealer machine. But, there are losses

Direction Control Valve (DCV) allows the air flow to flow in different paths from

BACKGROUND:
The Church receives contact information including telephone numbers, email
addresses, physical addresses, etc. that is provided by constituents through our online
website, direct mail, volunteer applications, offering envelopes and other means.
The marketing department wants to contact these individuals by telephone (live or
automated calls), email and text.
They are seeking direction to determine what they need to do to secure permission
to do this.
QUESTION:
What does marketing need to do in order to secure that they have permission to
contact such individuals in the manner as described above?
APPLICABLE LAW:
Telephone and Cellular Phone Calls:
Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 and FCC Policy Guidance from 2015
The rules for obtaining cell phone consent have not changed for nonprofit
organizations.
Expressed consent is still acceptable, meaning, the consumer could list his phone
number on a document or a website as contact information and this would be
considered consent . Consumers must have the right to revoke consent in any
reasonable way at any time.
The rule change that became effective on October 16, 2013, was directed towards
commercial sales calls and express written consent is now required.
The consumer must provide a signature, authorizing an organization to place calls to
the cell phone and the language below would comply with this.
If a phone number has been reassigned the FCC now requires a company to stop

The Contributions Of John Stuart Mill
John Stuart Mill was a British philosopher who was born on May 20, 1806 in
London, England, to Harriet Burrow and James Mill, a noted economist, philosopher
and historian. James Mill was an educated man who was heavily involved in an early
19th century movement called philosophic radicalism, a school of thought also
known as Utilitarianism, which highlighted the demand for a scientific foundation for
philosophy, as well as a humanist approach to economics politics. It was this
foundation from which James Millurged and advanced his eldest son s education from
a very early age. John Stuart studied Greek at age three and Latin at eight, and he was
asked to recite everything he had learned to his father every day. John Stuart also
studied mathematics and science for his personal enjoyment and would engage in
long discussions with his father about histories and biographies that he had read. It is
interesting to note that John Stuart was also empowered with the responsible for
educating his eight younger siblings. His childhood comprised of a strict
environment of learning, teachings and tutoring, however, John Stuart felt that he
was emotionally compromised by his father s educational plan. Although John Stuart
never actually attended university, by the age of twenty, he essentially had a
postgraduate self education in logic, political economy and law. As an adult, John
Stuart once stated that, out of all of his studies, teachings and education, the element

files include text and multimedia. Data Big data describes extreme volume of data
sets with sizes. Big data is defined with three v dimensions namely volume, velocity

Fracking Industry Research Paper
One of the greatest concerns today is the damage that industries cause to the
environment. As the gas industries have grown in America, the concern that the
extraction of natural gas from the undergrown increase. With this mention, it is
normal than environmentalist tries to blame contamination to the fracking
industries. First, the shells protect the water for touching chemicals that are on the
field or the engineers use. Next, chemicals that are used in the drill are of daily use
to our life, as an example, sand, detergents, pool cleaners, and more. Lastly, the drill
does not cause any earthquake. Fracking has been going for several years, and there
has not been a single proof that this procedure cause any damage to the environment.
However,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each industry has their own mixture of chemicals that are added to the water for
the drill procedure. Nevertheless, all the mixtures are created by chemical
engineers, who are more than capable to create a mixture that will not damage the
environment. A new measurement has been introduced by U.S. Sens. Joe Manchin
and Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia and Barbara Boxer. The measurement stated
that all fracking chemical industries should inform of all location where they store
the chemicals every five years, in addition, they should inform of the location every
three years if there is any water facility closed by ( Toxic Chemical Regulations ).
This create a regulation of all the chemical industries to have a control of their use.
One of the most common mistakes people has are the amount and types of chemicals
that are used in the projects. Weeks let the readers know that, the data is available to
EPA staff with clearances (qtd in U.S Oil Dependance). All the chemicals are
presented to the EPA, with this purpose, EPA will have control of what industries
uses. Although, the public has not access to the chemicals it is safe to assume that
the EPA will not approve a mixture that does not pass regulations. The misunderstood

continue in their country. Weeks explicitly stated that, In 2009 the agency published
The Traditions And Ethics Of The Bible Word For Word
Essay
When looking at the traditions of Catholic Social Teachings, people think that they
must use the teachings of the ancient world and look at the bible word for word.
Massaro talks about how all over the world, people have shared their traditions and
ethics to tell others how they live and what worked for them to live a better
planned life. All throughout history, people have been trying to find better ways to
live, how to live together and to love one another. This is how we as a species have
created traditions and ethics through many generations. The focus will be on how
these traditions from the Catholic Social Teachings and the ethics of many people
affects this constantly shifting world. Massaro begins with how ethics have a
very important role in the decisions we make, how we have developed laws, and
other principles that we live our life s from. Over the past generations, people have
developed different ethics that they write down for future generations to learn
from and develop even further. If a group discovers a beneficial pattern of behavior
or a set of useful reflections about appropriate human activity, members of the may
record it in written form or find other ways to share with future generations
(Massaro, 2012). The chapter then begins to go all the way back to when mankind
first walked the earth, at the dawn of human history, codes of virtuous behavior were
passed down orally; some of the earliest surviving written documents were codes of
laws inscribed on
Peer Pressure Essay
Have you ever been in a situation where everyone is doing the same thing except
you? Now imagine it being bad. Then your friends make you feel like you re a
loser for being the only one not doing what they re doing and you know deep down
inside you aren t that type of person to follow behind. Now let s speak on how this
peer pressuring even starts. What is it, where does it start, what age group is the
most effected. Firstly, what is peer pressure? It is summed up to be the influence
within your peers. Peer pressureoften involves pressure to engage in certain
activities or conform to certain standards set by the group. It could include
dressing a certain way, only associating with certain people, or using drugs. There
are a lot of things that causes peer pressure. Starting with the individuals feeling
like they need to be accepted or recognized by the popular people or people they
admire. Some teens tend to be into peer pressure when others aren t the same as
them. Their peers usually bully, harass, and tease them just because they are
different. Some other teens get into peer pressure because their peers around them
are doing things they aren t doing and they are tempted to try to do what they are
doing. For example, why do underage teens drink alcohol even though they know
that they are not allowed to do it? Teens drink alcohol mostly because of peer
pressure and who they hang around are influencing it. They think that drinking at a
young age is a cool thing to do
King Kong Comparison Essay
The original 1933 King Kong was created as a movie: to convey a story and
entertain and audience. Peter Jackson s 2005 remake took the foundation for King
Kong and expanded upon it in almost every way in order to make again the
amazement of the original for a modern audience. Audiences received the original
King Kongvery well. The stop motionsequences of Kong were amazing for their
time and the movie grossed $90,000 in its opening weekend. In order to bank upon
its success again sequels were made and then in 1976 a remake was made to
improve upon the original. Paramount updated the movie to color, changed the story,
and cast Jeff Bridges, a well known actorof the time, as the lead. Although the movie
received mixed reviews, it did... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Jackson s remake is true to the original for the most part, there are some
small changes made in order to make the movie more appealing. In the original
King Kong it is the lead actor in the movie that saves the damsel in distress but in
the 2005 remake it is the scriptwriter that saves the female actress. This change is
likely due to the recent trend of heroes coming from unlikely places. Studios know
that if a movie does well the first time, it is likely to do well the second time and
even the third time. King Kong is no exception. Producers can presume that the
glory of the original will pass on to the remake since audiences hope for that
feeling again. Whether the movie is better or not doesn t matter. Audiences will go
to see King Kong over the years because the remakes are associated with the
original. Every King Kong remake is based on the same principles: wanting to
create a movie that will capture audiences and instill in them a sense of wonderment
and awe. The original did this and the remakes try to do it again. Directors,
producers, and studios may change the story, update the actors and technology but
they are essentially just trying to cash in on the success of the original. Take a good
idea, update it, and reap the benefits again and
Different Training Methods Are Affective
Some of the different training methods are affective in there own way, but can they
be used for continuing employees? One of the great perks of having the business
simulation is that it can be used for all employees, new and seasoned, to be able to
develop further knowledge. With simulations they do not all have to be complex, like
having all the business processes of the organization. The simulation could simply
have specific skills related to them. These concepts could include communication,
feedback, leadership and team skills, problem solving, decision making, managing
resources, budgeting, and the list continues. Essentially every department can have its
own business simulation game to learn the processes necessary. This allows the
company to move individuals internally and allow for growth within the company.
Say they have an individual who has been doing accounting for the company and
want to promote them to finance manger, they can use a business simulation game to
have them better understand the tasks they will be performing as a finance manager
before having them go into it blind. Another example could be that the company has
noticed there is some lack of communication going on between the manager and his
employees. The simulator could enhance the mangers understanding of how to
communicate stronger, which can improve the satisfaction of employees. Being able
to take the simulation and adjust it to the necessary processes that the company is
looking to use for
The Great Awakening During The British Colonies
The First Great Awakening in the British Colonies found its way across the Atlantic
Ocean from Europe around 1730 1740s, and it had a profound impact on the course
of the colonies, especially during the latter half of the Eighteenth Century, as they
became independent from King George III s tyranny. The Great Awakening was a
movement rooted in spiritual growth in which it brought a new national identity that
swept through the Puritans in Colonial America. Certain Puritans at time began to
disassociate themselves with the established approach to worship which led to a
general decline of church goers in the British Colonies, and during the Great
Awakening many ministers adopted instead a New Light approach in which was

the late 1730s and early 1740s, a position in his mind motivated by an earnest desire
to conserve the Puritan way from the New Lights dangerous engagement of excessive

Triple Alliance And Triple Entente During World War I
In the beginning of the 20th century, many changes where to take place that would
ultimately determine the alliances commonly known as the Triple Alliance and
Triple Entente during World War I. In 1904, the Russo Japanese War began. This
war ended with a defeat for Russia, which was humiliating, but did encourage the
Russian Empire to focus on the Balkans, an area that would play more dominate
roles in World War I
( 10 Events that Led to War One 1). Their newfound interest in
this area forced them to reassert themselves later, during the Bosnia Annexation
Crisis (Trueman 1). Over the years, Germany began to grow as an empire and an
extremely militaristic power (Tonge 1). The German s power created a naval rivalry
between themselves and Britain. Britain, fearing war, signed the Entente... Show more

Analysis Of Shakespeare s King Lear
The opportunity to view both productions of King Lear has appeared twice for me
in the past two years. The first time I viewed Trevor Nunn s 2009 production of
King Lear my review would have been based solely on my ability to understand the
dialogue and my appreciation of the acting of Ian McKellen. Two years later I have
a better understanding of the actual play and while I still enjoy the 2009 production
the 1982 production directed by Jonathan Miller presents the words of William
Shakespearein a more accurate and period specific manor.
From the opening scenes of Trevor Nunn s 2009 production of King Lear, the
audience is made aware of a dark, ominous cloud that is about to envelope them.
The use of low lights and spotlights allows for a slow augmentation of the yet to
come tragic aspects of the play. The minimal use of props and background sets
allows his audience to focus on the characters and their dialogue. Besides the set
design, background music for any movie can also make or break a production. The
1982 production directed by Jonathan Miller declined to have any music from the
opening scene and went directly into dialogue whereas Nunn s version has an
opening musical score that is reminiscent of a scene from the Phantom of the
Opera. The music is a lead in to an over dramatic scene where the people bow down
to King Lear and subsequently the dialogue of the play begins. The 1982 production
withdraws from any musical score and begins the opening scene with the

so he still has room to grow to become one the greatest of all time. You had people
like Kobe Bryant that played during the time of Jordan and LeBron. The thought
that LeBron could eventually become greater than Jordan scares people, because
so many people look up to jordan or watch him growing up. Michael Jordan led the

sports. LeBron can play almost every position, he has also been to way more

denied he is the greatest of this era of basketball. LeBron has dealt with a lot more
problems than jordan during his time. LeBron had to deal with bad coaches and
terrible teams, while Michael Jordan had Scottie Pippen with the rest of the Bulls.
LeBron had to work hard and make things happen. When Michael Jordan retired, he

Analysis Of Honour Killing By Imtiaz Dharker
Poetry: Honour Killing Textual Commentary
Honour killing is a poem written by Imtiaz Dharker which depicts the struggles of
women within countries in the middle east that oppress women whether it be
verbally or physically, and Dharker being a Pakistani woman expressed her views
through this piece of work. An honour killing is the act of taking someone s life
who has disrespected themselves and their family, an example of this is a Pakistani
woman who was shot by her family because she wanted to divorce the man she was
with. The true difference between a western culture and a middle eastern culture can
be shown in the fact that the Pakistani senate refused to condemn what happened to
this woman and deemed it an honour killing. The poem is an outcry for freedom for
woman who are being oppressed and kept down by cultural ideas within the countries
which commit these acts.
The main objective of this poem is to illustrate how woman within middle eastern
countries (possibly more of the world) are kept down by certain aspects of society
such as cultural aspects or religious aspects, Dharker wanted to bring this issue into
the light through means of poetry. A concept which most people around the world
want to have is patriotism as it shows loyalty to a country and also represents a
home, however a rather large perception throughout the poem is a sense of wanting
to strip away the patriotism. The first time Dharker represents the notion of
wanting to be rid of a society s expectations is in the line I m taking off this veil,
this black veil of a faith The woman who is speaking here is describing taking off
her veil which in some middle eastern countries can be an offence to religious
beliefs; the poem shows that women within these countries feel like they are being
forced into situations which aren t fair to them, for example honour killings. The
way Dharker writes is to inform the audience of serious issues which are more than
relevant in modern society, she wants to make the reader see how women are treated
differently and how they need to strip away at their own beliefs just to feel like they
can fit in when they should be able to fit in no matter where they are living.
Individuality also plays a role in what
The Nerve Of Nerve Conduction
Nerve conduction studies are often utilized by clinician to diagnose patients suffering
neuromuscular diseases that cannot be determined by neurological examination
alone. Nerve conduction velocity (NCV) measures the speed of conduction of an
electrical impulse that travels through a nerve. It is an expression of the
physiological state of the nerve itself. In order to determine the NCV of the Ulnar
nerve, a stimulator is initially used to depolarize the nerve. A small electrical stimulus
is applied to the nerve. Before the electrical stimulation, the membrane is said to be at
resting potential of 70mv. If the electrical impulses is greater then the threshold
potential ( 55mv), then the electrical stimulus will causes the opening of the Na+
channel, permitting the influx of Na+ into the cell membrane, thus causing further
depolarization of the cell membrane. The K+ channels open thereafter and leads to
efflux of K+ and restoration of the resting potential of the membrane. The rapid
change in the charge of the nerve is called an action potential(AP). In the Ulnar nerve,
the depolarization associated with the AP travels rapidly, with little attenuation from
one node of Ranvier to the next. This known as Saltatory conduction. As the AP
travels down the nerve cell, it causes the release of Acetyl coenzyme A (acetyl CoA)
into the synapse. As acetyl CoA binds to the nicotinic acetylcholine, it causes an AP
in the muscle cell. AP propagates down the T tubules to the sarcoplasmic
Born In The Big Rains Book Report
Born in the Big Rains, written as an autobiography by Fadumo Korn, tells about a
life after being cut. Human Rights Watch, (2010) Although you may never have
experienced female genital mutilation/cutting, or possibly even heard of it, this
terrible undertaking will affect more than three million girls this year in Africa
alone. Fadumo was one of those girls many years ago, screaming as the blade
sliced her lower region and as she grew up, she stepped in in her community to
help stop this procedure harming many young girls. Now, it s time for all of us to
take action and move against female genital mutilation. Female genital mutilation
(FMG) is the practice of partially or totally removing the external genitalia of girls
and young women for nonmedical reasons. UNFPA, (2015) The different ways of
saying FGM may confuse some, but they all mean the same thing. Starting off being
called female circumcision didn t last long. People were often very confused because
male and female have very different health implications. One major different between
the two is that male circumcision is used for health benefits, whereas females suffer
for no reason. It is rarely called circumcision anymore for that reason. After being
changed to female genital mutilation, many thought it was implying people were
performing the procedure maliciously. Whatever you decide to call it shouldn t
matter, because it needs to be stopped no matter what.... Show more content on

Type one is referred to as clitoridectomy and involves the removal of the clitoris. Type
two, otherwise called excision deals with the removal of the clitoris and the labia
minora. According to Human Rights Watch (2016), these two types of FGM account
for more than 85% of all procedures. Type three, infibulation, is the narrowing of the
vaginal opening. The last type, type four, covers all other harmful actions to the
genitalia including piercing or
Pursuing A Career In Secondary Education
The goals, future career plans and aspirations for college and beyond that I have
are several. My most important goal I wish to accomplish is to pursue a career in
secondary education. As the years go by and while being in college, I desire to gain
the most experience and intelligence to become an inspirational high schooleducator
and coach. I plan to acquire a well rounded educationand maintain a high GPA
throughout my collegeeducation. I enjoy serving as a role model for young adults as
I have served as a volunteer coach and respect retreat leader in my high school. It is
these very experiences that have helped me know that I would love to work with
young adults. Being able to help someone is what I enjoy and love. There are
several reasons that have led me to choose this path. My parents have been my
teachers, coaches, role models, and leaders inspiring me to achieve my entire life
path. Helping others when in need is one of the most rewarding and self satisfying
things one can feel and an excellent opportunity to give back to the community. I
enjoy being able to lend a hand to anyone in need, regardless of their ethnicity,
culture or disabilities. We are all human beings and always need someone s help
and compassion in certain situations that come across our lives. The greatest and
most important reason I plan to pursue a career in secondary education is because it
is a rewarding career to help others. This career choice will allow me to be in a
position to give something back to my community after finishing my college career.
Computer Security and Data Encryption
DRM is a technology that protects digital content via encryption and the access
control mechanisms that allow a user to view the digital content. In general, to
control what we can and can t do with the media and hardware we ve purchased.
1.Historical perspective of DRM The practices of copyright protection and DRM
have been around since decades ago. In fact, when the Altair BASIC was first
introduced in 1975, the Homebrew Computer Club (a computer hobbyists club)
member made unauthorized copies of Altair basic software and distributed them
at the club meeting. At that time, MITS Company licensed the software from
Micro soft (now Microsoft). Although MITS has been selling thousand computers
a month, Micro Soft wasn t getting much royalty fees since basic copies have been
distributed illegally. This led to the famous open letter open letter to hobbyists by
Bill Gates which he expressed his frustrations towards the hobbyists. In the letter,
he said As the majority of hobbyists must be aware, most of you steal your
software. Hardware must be paid for, but software is something to share. Who
cares if the people who worked on it get paid? Is this fair? But the first
implementation of DRM only came about in 1983 by Japanese Engineer Ryoichi
Mori and it was implemented in Software Service System (SSS) which is later
redefined as Superdistribution. The main focus of SSS was to protect the
unauthorized copying by encryption. The SSS would include a
Histology Chapter 5 Summary
Chapter 5 deals with histology, the study of tissues. Types of tissue include epithelial
tissue, connective tissue, nervous and muscular tissue. Cell junctions, glands and
tissue growth, development, repair and degeneration are discussed.
Histology is also called microscopic anatomy because a microscope is needed to
view the structures of tissues.
Tissues are prepared for study thinly slicing the tissue, preserving them with a
fixative and staining them to produce greater detail. Tissue samples can be sliced
longitudinally, by cross sections or by oblique sections. Liquid tissues, like blood
are smeared on a slide for microscopic study. Epithelial tissue covers the body and
internal organs. It protects the body from injury and ... Show more content on

The two types of osseous tissue are spongy bone and compact bone. Blood is the
liquid connective tissue. It is made of a ground substance called plasma and other
formed elements. The formed elements are erythrocytes (red blood cells), leukocytes
(white blood cells), and platelets that aid in clotting.
Nervous tissue is made of neurons, and neuroglia (glial cells). The neurons have a
pronounced cell body called the neurosoma. Dendrites are extensions that branch
from the neurosoma to receive messages and communicate those messages to the
neurosoma. Neurosoma also have an axon (nerve fiber) that extends from the cell
body that sends out signals to other cells. Glial cells transmit messages only short
distances. They provide protection and support to the nervous system.
Muscular tissue is built to contract and relax for movement, circulation and digestion.
Skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle are the 3 types of muscular tissue. Skeletal
muscle is usually attached to bone, but there are exception like the tongue and some
muscles of the face. Skeletal muscle is voluntary and striated. Cardiac muscle is only
found in the heart. It is involuntary muscle tissue but is also striated. Smooth muscle
is neither striated nor voluntary. It can be found in the digestive tract, respiratory tract
and urinary
Psychodynamic Approach To Psychology
When comparing the behaviouristic and psychodynamic approaches to psychology,
it is important to remember that they are both branches of psychology and both have
many similarities and differences. By definition behaviourism is the theory that
human and animal behaviour can be explained in terms of conditioning, without
appeal to thoughts or feelings, and that psychological disorders are best treated by
altering behaviour patterns . (Oxford English Dictionary, (2006)). It was first
considered by John B. Watson (1978 1958). Watson believed that he could change
the views of people and in 1921 he started a career in advertising using applied
psychologymethods. It was Sigmund Freudwho founded the psychodynamic approach
to psychology in the late... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are two of methods associated with the behaviouristic approach 1.Classical
conditioning and 2.Opperant conditioning. Classical conditioning is shown when a
neutral stimulus needs certain properties of the unconditioned stimulus, through
matching the unconditioned stimulus with a neutral stimulus. Behaviour is
controlled by association. Operant conditioning is demonstrated when the reinforcing
consequences immediately following the response increases its future likelihood
(Lisa Bustamante, et al. 1996.). For example Skinner (1904 1990) who was
considered the best behavioural psychologist of all time, undertook many
experiments looking at learning processes and how stimuli effect a performance.
Psychodynamic methods of investigation are clinically derived rather than
scientifically experimented in the behaviouristic approach. Most psychodynamic
experiments are done by observations taking into consideration the views of the
person being observed. Sigmund Freud a renowned psychodynamic psychologist
and physician believed that by using his patients for analysis in the area of
psychodynamics he would be able to get a basis to his work. This involved treating
patients that had intense fears and phobias, however Freud couldn t understand why
the fear was there in the first place because there was no physical trait that could
explain it. Freud believed that there were different levels of consciousness and that
when unconscious forces are too strong they can result in clinical conditions such as
anxiety (Lee. L, 2015). Which led to the conclusion that fears must be developed in
the sub conscious
Analytical Essay On The Movie Rudy
In the movie Rudy, the character Rudy faced many different challenges. Rudy
overcomes his his friend s death because he was proactive. He was also diligent
because he worked hard to get into Notre Dame. Rudy was also optimistic because
he knew that he could accomplish his goal, despite others who thought Rudy s
goal was unrealistic and impractical. In the beginning of the movie, Rudy s friend
Pete died in an accident at the factory. Prior to his death, Pete was the only person
who supported Rudy. However, when Pete died, Rudy chose to be proactive and
continued trying to accomplish his goal without any support. Rudy talked to Father
Cavanaugh and was offered to attend the Holy Cross junior college. He was then
told that if he improved his grades, he could potentially transfer to Notre Dame.
Instead of being upset about his friend s death, Rudy became one step closer to
achieving his goal. Throughout the movie, Rudy attends a junior college and tries to
improve his grades in order to be accepted into Notre Dame. Rudy discovers that he
has dyslexia; a disorder that involves difficulty with reading. This put... Show more

Rudy does accomplish his main goal and proves to everyone that he was able
The Importance Of Green Fluorescent Protein
In the 1960 s, Green Fluorescent Protein was discovered to be responsible for
Aequorea victoria s fluorescence under UV light (Niwa et al., 1996). Today, GFP is
often used in protein tagging and has made it possible for scientists to study
expression and track proteins in vivo. With the rising importance of GFP fusion
proteins and other recombinant vectors, the metal affinity of Histidine helps to make
the proteinpurification process easier (Lilius et al., 1991). His tags are commonly
used to purify proteins through immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC)
(Lilius et al., 1991). This rapid and efficient method separates the recombinant protein
from unwanted products such as RNA. The His tag DNAsequence is inserted into the

It is of strong interest to molecular biologists because of the strong light emission
of 508 nm under UV light. UV wavelengths excite the fluorophore, contained in the
Ser Tyr Gly sequence near GFP s N terminus, and a bright green fluorescence is
given off as a result (Niwa et al., 1996). GFP can be successfully tagged to many
proteins without disturbing their function (Feilmeier et al., 2000). This allows
scientists to exploit the protein for its usefulness in marking proteins in vivo. GFP
tagging has many applications. It can be used to study gene expression by inserting
gfp after a promotor in the plasmid, so that if expressed, the colony expressing the
gene of interest can be identified by a green fluorescence of GFP under UV light
(Feilmeier et al., 2000). Specific cellular organelles can be tagged, such as the
endoplasmic reticulum, to visualize protein localization and networking inside the
living cell. GFP can also be used to monitor cofactor levels within a cell in real time.
For example, when GFP was tagged to proteins that contain a receptor sensitive to
Ca2+, they interacted in a way so that the fluorescence of the fusion protein was
proportional to the calcium ion concentration with less than a 1 second lag in the cell
(Romoser et al., 1997). Throughout the decades, GFP mutants have been created to
give brighter emission and different wavelengths. Researchers can track separate cell
pathways at the same time, since different proteins can
Traffic Lights In Victorian England
An aristocratic family of four await in their horse drawn carriage for the local
pedestrians to cross the busy streets of Victorian England. The chilly winds of late
December froze the family amidst the loud but muffled conversations from all of the
other Victorians who were struggling to reach home for Christmas. Suddenly,
intricately detailed, delicate pieces of white dust began to sprinkle from the
darkening, evening sky. A deafening sound echoed from the muffled noises, causing
chaos within the close packed rows of carriages and pedestrians on broad streets of
the capital. An impatient man leaped out of the luxurious coach and charged towards
the shivering walkers, who were struggling to determine whether or not they should
cross the crowded... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite the frustration that arises every time one realizes that he or she would
arrive at a location later, this device serves a crucial role in modern society. To
begin, the brief pause in one s journey caused by this object can contribute more to
society than merely regulate the flow of traffic. According to research done in
Australia, traffic lights aid people to conserve this planet s air quality (DumГ©).
Since traffic lights control the movement of traffic and tell drivers when it is
appropriate to move their vehicles, one would be able to maintain the motion of this
automobile more smoothly. This action would allow the transportation system from
releasing excessive car emissions, which are discharged when a vehicle
unexpectedly and necessarily brakes, stops, or accelerates. Moreover, the traffic
light serves an essential purpose in society, which is public safety (Why Are Traffic
Lights So Important?). The most frequent accidents are caused by the lack of
infrastructure (World Health Organization). Therefore, to retain order and more
safety, there must be more fundamental rules, like traffic lights, which could
physically be seen by a driver so he or she would restrain from moving the position of
his or her vehicle at a certain point. Finally, although traffic lights were invented to
ensure that the
Analysis Of Paul Cezanne s The Large Bathers
The Large Bathers, 1898 1905 is the largest of Paul Cezanne s pictures and has
been cited as an example of his ideal of composition and his restoration of classic
monumentality after its lapse during the nineteenth century. CГ©zanne s great
achievement forced the young Picasso, Matisse, and many other artists to contend
with the implications of CГ©zanne s art. This essay will discuss how both Matisse s
Bonheur de Vivre (Joy of Life) and Picasso s Les Demoiselles d Avignon are
considered as inspired by and breaking free of The Large Bathers.
Paul Cezanne s painting The Large Bathers was his last and arguably his greatest
work. Cezanne labored on this painting for seven years. The subject is a group of
women bathing by a river. The canvas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Matisse was influenced by CГ©zanne s method of analyzing and pulling apart his
subject matter. Like Paul CГ©zanne, Matisse believed that everything could be
broken down into simple shapes and painted that way (Matisse, Bonheur de Vivre,
n.d.). In Bonheur de Vivre the broken down figures accurately represent the human
form and living scenery. The figures in The Large Bathers emit a feeling of calm
while the scene depicted in Bonheur de Vivre is a place full of life and love and
freedom. Unlike the paintings by CГ©zanne, Matisse s work does not depict forms
that recede in the background and diminish in scale. In Bonheur de Vivre, the scale
of the figures in the foreground and the middle ground is badly skewed (Matisse,
Bonheur de Vivre, n.d). Matisse brought exploration of vision through space by
incorporating shifting perspectives. As a result, the viewer relates differently to the
painting and is required to enter the scene. Matisse s painting is perhaps the first
canvas to actually further the elder master s ideas.
As well as Matisse s Bonheur de Vivre, Pablo Picasso s Les Demoiselles d Avignon
was inspired by and deviated from Cezanne s great achievement. Cezanne s
landscape is a broad open field with the abstract females surround a pond as they bath
with abstract surroundings, very much different from Picasso s
A Presentation Of The Special Operation
This is a presentation of the Special Operation (SO) Imperatives displayed in
character situations within The Ugly American. I have also compared and
contrasted my personal experiences with these situations. Throughout this process, I
analyzed and assessed not only the similarities and differences between the
character situations and the SO Imperatives, but I evaluated and chose experiences
that meant something to my development as a man and Green Beret. As a man
who believes in being authentic, I reflected on my deployment experiences in Iraq,
Afghanistan, and Qatar to analyze my choices. I call this presentation my growth
through experience because I will never develop into the man I want to be unless I
develop into the man I need to be. My main topics will center around three
situations in the book. The first topic will center on Ruth Jyoti as she speaks to
Joseph Rivers about U.S. foreign policy in Setkya. The second topic will center on
Ambassador Macwhites discussion with the Honorable Li Pang. The third topic will
center on the Martin family when U Maung Swe spoke about improving the prestige
of America in Southeast Asia. I will use my experiences of my times in Iraq,
Afghanistan, and Qatar as examples. Although every instance of this book can derive
from understanding or not understanding the operational environment, my points will
explore how my team and I applied them in modern operations. Ruth Jyoti had the
uncanny ability to understand the application of
Immanuel Kant And Good Will
Immanuel Kant begins his piece of work by outlining that humans have desires and
appetites (Sommers 1985, p.86). According to Kant, morals are classed very highly
due to the fact that humans have the capacity to function reasoning. The main
question however, does the moral reason have absolute value? A key argument
within the text is Good will. Good will enables an individual to perform an effect.
Kant argues that it is important that all acts must be done through the use of good
will. This is because by acting through your good will, you are making sure the
action can also be good. This then can lead to good consequences. Although,
personally, this has made me think of bad actions leading to good consequences, that
sometimes it is good
Elements Of Suspense In The Fall Of The House Of Usher
Goth, a fascination of all that is dark and curious, is often devoted by intelligent,
romantic and artistic realists that can be found all around the globe and come from
many different backgrounds and ethnicities. Throughout The Fall of the House of
Usher suspense, symbolism, and gothic element can be portrayed in aspects of Goth,
creating eerie mystery and anticipation.
An uneasy tension of suspense can be created from something unpredicted and
mysterious. The narrator uses the tactic of nervous tension to keep the reader on edge
when it is informed, The disease which had thus entombed the lady in the maturity of
youth, had left, as usual in all maladies of strictly cataleptical character, (Poe, 305)
discussing the death of Madeline. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the gloom sets in and becomes known, the atmosphere is intensely described,
There was an iciness, a sinking, sickening of the heart an unredeemed dreariness of
thought which no goading of the imagination could torture into aught of the
sublime. (Poe, 294) This illustrates an unsettling vibe to the reader as, Minute fungi
overspread the whole exterior, hanging in a fine tangled web work from the eaves.
(297) The impression of the surroundings can be reported as harsh and wearisome,
which then creates a foreshadow of the uncanny events to come. A weariness in
atmosphere can also be depicted in, During the whole of a dull and soundless day
in the autumn of the year when the clouds hung oppressively low in the heavens,
(293) as an ominous presence in setting is again being emphasized to show the
conditions in which the Ushers have been living in. Nature is being used to set the
chilling ambiance making it gothic and eerie. It is also noted that, Perhaps the eye
of a scrutinizing observer might have discovered a barely perceptible fissure, which,
extending from the roof of the building in front, made its way down the wall in a
zigzag direction, (297) showing how the old house has a history much as the Ushers
do. The setting in the story contributes greatly to the element of goth.
Aspects of Goth can be portrayed throughout The Fall of the House of Usher creating
anticipation and eerie mystery through the use of suspense, symbolism, and gothic
element. While others may consider Goth culture evil and abnormal, there is real
beauty of deeper meaning discovered in the darkness of the unnatural that one must
be open minded and spiritual to
Censorship In It Happened Last Night
The famous movie, It Happened One Night was filmed in an interesting period in
American movie making movie due to the implementation of the Production Code.
This code sought to censor movies of explicit material and possibly immoral
themes. This severely restricted the content of movies and forced directors and
writers to creatively imply certain sex, crime and other nefarious acts while still
providing a level of innocence. One of the most obvious points of this censorship in
It Happened Last Night occurred during the night Ellie and Peter spent together. By
far the most glaring was the Wall of Jericho Peter created to separate the two of
them. The Wall of Jericho is actually an allusion to the biblical city of Jericho, which
had impenetrable

The difficulty lies not only in addressing the specific prompts but also in crafting a coherent and well-structured piece that adheres to the academic conventions expected in IELTS essays. Firstly, understanding the intricacies of the topic is crucial. The IELTS essay questions often cover a wide range of subjects, requiring the writer to be well-versed in diverse fields. Researching and gathering relevant information to support your arguments can be time- consuming, especially if the topic is unfamiliar or complex. Moreover, achieving the appropriate level of formality and academic tone is essential. Striking the right balance between clarity and sophistication while adhering to the prescribed word limit can be a daunting task. Organizing ideas logically, developing a strong thesis statement, and providing evidence to support your claims are all integral components that add to the complexity of the writing process. • 2. Chemistry Lab On And Electric Vehicle I ve learned so much from working and competing in Science Olympiad. There were four competitions that were scheduled for me to compete in: Forensics, Chemistry Lab, Game On and Electric Vehicle. There was a lot of preparation and commitment that had to be put in. A slight mishap happened in Forensics we found out that only two teams could compete, so my team had to drop out , ChemistryLab was mainly basic kinetics and gas laws during GameOn we had to learn Scratch and then use that knowledgeto create a game, The last event was Keltic Vehicle, in this event we had to pre design a vehicle. It would be scored by how accurate it was. I am glad I was able to pick the events to see if would really enjoy that class or occupation.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It helped working together because we could share ideas to each other. The Scratch program was simple and easy to master. We did really well at studying and mastering the program. There were some issues with designing the background and characters. The limited time made it hard to make a complicated and interesting game. The game wasn t as accurate as we had hoped but it was one of my favorites. We also actually knew what we were doing. With the knowledge in Scratch I know that I ll do better next year. Doing gome on made me realise how much I enjoyed programming, and I know that skill will come in handy later in life. For Electric Vehicle I learned that time is very important with designing and programming but working on the vehicle was different we remodeled it about three times to make it work correctly and stop swerving to the left. The rules were simple: make the vehicle come to a complete stop when it hits the set distance. Our way of building the vehicle was to base it on a click system; in the system we had buttons that had a certain amount of time it would make the motors go for. The rules stated that the vehicle had to be between nine to twelve meters , (in distance of which it could travel), but at the competition it was eleven meters. When preparing for the distance runs we had to figure out how many clicks it took to go one meter. Unfortunately, it was a little more complex; it accelerated so it didn t go at a linear rate,
  • 3. Similarities Between Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Griffin The aim of this essay is to focus on the description and analysis of the two literary roles, the oppressor and the tolerant, which are clearly identified on Treasure Island, both related to two of the main characters of the novel: the pirate Long John Silver and Doctor Livesey. Moreover, this essay makes a comparison between these two characters with the main characters of the novelDoctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, since Stevenson describes a similar image of the characters where it is easy to identify the same two roles. It is essential to identify the two clearest roles that Stevenson describes in his novel, as I have mentioned before, the oppressor and the tolerant, which, in turn, can be identified with the idea of the good and loyal character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this novel, we can classify in an apparent way the good, which appears personified in the characters of Jim and of the Doctor Livesey, and the evil, which appears personified in the two figures of the pirates Pew and Long John Silver. The point of view that the writer offers us about the division between the good and the evil is a constant idea that is repeated in all of the fantastic and adventure books that were written by Stevenson. After reading more than one of his novels, the reader can identify these two literary roles in the main characters that he describes and, therefore, it is inevitable to create a comparative idea among the characters of his novels, until to get the conclusion that the author creates a similar connection between all of them by introducing them and describing them in a similar way. In one of the most well known books of the author as it is Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, we can see how these two literary roles are repeated in their main characters. After analyzing and comparing them, it is easy to find a great resemblance in their physical and psychological descriptions with the characters of Long John Silver and Dr. Livesey in Treasure Island. Actually, in both cases the personality of the characters is clearly opposite each
  • 4. Gm and Avtovaz of Russia GM and AvtoVAZ of Russia Introduction In June of 2001 General Motors and AvtoVAZ were sitting down to finally negotiate a deal that they had originally made in 1999. The joint venture was to see the two companies jointly build and sell Chevrolets in the Russian market. The Russian market was expected to boom and account for a significant share of global growth over the next decade. This was also a step forward to help revive the economy in postcommunist Russia. GM founded in 1908, was the largest automaker in the world. GM had managed operations in over 50 countries and sold over $160 billion in sales with $4.4 in profits alone in the year 2000. GM did have problems of its as their market share had diminished to a mere 13.6%... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Doing business with AvtoVAZ would allow GM to produce a high volume of automobiles for a much cheaper cost. 2. What institutional or industrial factors continue to make the Russian automobile market so difficult to compete in? Legal issues and the government were the two factors that made it hard for and company to invest interest into the Russian auto industry market. In July of 200 the Russian Tax Police accused AvtoVAZ of tax fraud. The accusations did not look god for the largest automobile manufacturer in Russia. They were accused of falsifying and under reporting vehicle identification numbers. The legal troubles and the way the government tried to intervene did not promote a positive image for AvtoVAZ. 3. What strengths does AutoVAZ bring to the joint venture and what does GM bring? Are they a good fit? Why or why not? AvtoVAZ had to main strengths. The first strength being the Niva SUV and the other strength being that they were already the largest automobile manufacturer in Russia. General Motor s strengths were that of the companies success and willingness to enter a Russia market that could either be a big success or complete failure. They seemed to be a good fit as AvtoVAZ was going to be able to produce more cars with the help of General Motors and would be able to finally establish as an international manufacturer. 4. As a potential partner, what challenges does AutoVAZ present to General Motors and how has GM managed to
  • 5. The Origin Of The Lolita Subcultures Finding out what to wear in the morning is a part of everyone s morning routine, but when it comes to fashion trends what you wear appears to become more important. Reading magazines and watching celebrates on the red carpet are a few ways in which people find out what is popular to dress in something that is will make them fit in and be up to date with the fashion of the time. In the other hand there are people who do exactly the opposite, more specifically those within the Lolita subculture. The Lolita subculture is a Japanese fashion subculture known for its Victorian period clothing style corsets, petticoats, and lace. What makes this fashion style unique is its similarities with 19th century girl and doll dresses (AdГЁle Hardy Bernal, 2011, p. 20), but Lolitas were not dressing up in Victorian clothes without a reason. The origins of the Lolita subculture can be traced back to as far as the late 1980 s. Similar to the start of the British Punk subculture, in the 1980 s Japan went through a drastic economic change referred to as the Bubble Burst or the burst of the Bubble Economy. During the time of the Bubble Burst several people were laid off from their jobs, women became stay at home mothers, and overall the youth lost hope for a successful future in Japan. The state of the economy caused anger, disappointment. The youth in Japan began to care less about the traditional Japanese values such as dedication to your job, and the respect of elders. People all over
  • 6. First Time Filing Taxes First Time Filing Taxes After A Divorce? What You Need To Know About Deductions Taxes may be your last concern when it comes to a divorce, but it is a reality that you will eventually need to face. One question you may have is about who can deduct your children by counting them as a dependent. Don t make the wrong assumption that the parent with legal custody gets this deductions, since the deduction could be split. Here is what you need to know. Consider How Long The Child Lives At Your Place You should be keeping track of the amount of days that a child spends at your place and your former spouse s place. If your child is spending at least 183 days at your home, or more than half the year, then you will most likely have the right to claim them as your tax deduction.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What you need to keep in mind if the non custodial parent pays much more than the parent who the child primarily lives with. It s possible to fill out a form that will give the other parent the right to claim their child as a dependent. If they are paying more out of their own pocket, they ll most likely need the tax break. Consider How Old Your Child is The IRS will let you claim your child as a dependent if they are 18 years old or younger. If they are going to college, the age limit gets bumped up to 24 and under. Of course, you should only claim a child as a dependent if they truly depend on you for care as a college student. If they are doing it all on their own, they deserve the tax credit. Consider Your Child s
  • 7. Slender Man Monologue Inspired by Haunted by Evanescence. Watch out for the Slender Man! I heard a voice on the playground say. I looked to the left where I heard the voice call out. It was some of my classmates, Jason and Zachary. Zach, everyone knows that Slender Man is obviously a urban legend. No one is scared of Slender Man anymore anyways. Jason commented. Zachary just laughed. Yeah. But just wait. He might find you someday! Zachary burst into a fit of laughter. Jason just scoffed. I didn t know who exactly this Slender Man guy was... I always heard my classmates talk about him a lot for some reason. I never really thought about him...much. The only thing I did know, was he can come to life if you think about him too much and also he was very
  • 8. Single Gender vs Coed Classrooms Single Gender vs Coed Classrooms Do you believe that single gender elementary classrooms are better for children s education rather than traditional coeducational classrooms, or vice versa? There are many differences in boy brains and girl brains and according to these differences; it may be potential to have different learning techniques and environments. Some schools are adopting the newer curriculum of single gender classrooms to help children achieve a better educational learning environment that suits both boys and girls separately. Although it is not fully understood if it is a better educationchoice, a lot of studies show that single gender classrooms can be useful to help improve achievement. However, other experts may think otherwise because they do not believe that there is any significant evidence that prove it is necessary to separate genders since every single person is different or that it may even deny equal opportunities. A comparison of the single gender classrooms versus traditional classrooms both shows the belief for higher education, but I believe single gender classrooms offer a positive alternative to the traditional mixed classrooms. Over the years, research experts discovered new ways on how each gender develops and processes information by using reliable technology such as MRI and PET which are technology that allows you to see soft tissue and the anatomy structure. What they have found is that girls have more active frontal lobes, which provide
  • 9. Environmental Impacts Of The West Nile Virus Lower return crops such as corn, wheat, cotton and rice will bear the brunt of this whereas the higher return crops such as nuts, citrus and vine crops will be least affected (Kowalski, 2015). As a historically semi arid environment, California has also suffered heavily from several environmental impacts as a result of the current drought conditions. The first of these is on its forests. The US Forest Service estimates that 12 million trees have died in the past year due to drought; this combined with the drying of forest floor material greatly increases the flammability of the landscape. The result of this is the numerous devastating wildfires that have swept through the state throughout 2015, costing not only wildlife and habitat but also human property (CBS News, 2015) (Lustgarten, et al., 2015) (Google, 2015). Aside from wildfires, the drought and associated loss of habitat is said to be having a negative effect on both flora and fauna due to their contribution to the spread of West Nile Virus, whilst also threatening populations of geese, ducks, salmon and Joshua trees (Lustgarten, et al., 2015) (Beaudry, 2015). Finally, with groundwater contributing up to 50% of stream flow in drought, there is a worry that over usage near the coast could result in irreversible salinization through the drawing in of salt water (USGS, 2016) (Kasler Reese, 2015). Economic effects other than those resulting from agricultural losses are also important when considering the current

I will then be describing how taking time to knit reduces depression. Furthermore, I will express how the colors and texture of knitting yarnhas the capability of reducing depression. I recall walking out of the metro one day to find many trees yarn bombed . It was interesting to see all the different colors that were blended together so beautifully. It was as though it was meant to be there all along. The many textures and techniques that were used were pleasing to the eye and it was difficult to look away. Even though it stood out because most of the colors were incredibly bright, it brought people close together because instead of walking by as most of us usually do in the busy city, we took the time to stop and admire what we saw in front of us. • 13. Supply Side Economic Policies Why are economic policy so important? To evaluate it, people have to look at the policies inside it. The supply side, demand side and monetary are all within economic policies. What is supply side economics to you? Well, Supply side economics are policies designed to stimulate output and lower unemployment by increasing production rather than demand. This policy gained support in the late 70 s. This policy used the Laffer Curve which was a hypothetical relationship between federal tax rates and tax revenues. The supply side does not focus on the money supply in things. What do you know about demand side policies? Demand side policies are federal policies designed to increase or decrease total demand in the economy.

He knows that if he does not except help now that there might be a real chance that he may not live much longer. This is because he can no longer control his abusive tendencies (Frey, 2003). James Frey overall seemed to be a very stubborn individual and did not want to follow the rules. The rehabilitation facility had very few strict rules. It was only over time that James did change and truly wanted to get sober (Frey, 2003). In DC Comics there have been tests, races, and fights to prove that Godspeed is the fastest character of all. Let s take a look at the evidence. To start we need to look at the original speedster Jay Garrick. Jay was the first Flash and the only one to not wear a mask. In his original comic appearance he was the only Flash in existence but when DC Comics came out with Barry Allen he was sadly forgotten for a short time. After Barry started to gain popularity they had to find someway to work Jay back into the main story. It was eventually shown that he lived on an alternative world and that speedsters could cross back and forth to help each other ( Flash ). He is usually recognized by his signature metal winged helmet that has been around since the golden age of comics. Since it has been shown in the comics that he is slower than Barry Allen he is automatically out of the race. Barry Allen is arguably the most widely known Flash. One aspect, given in both Herodotus and the inscription, matches evidence of the period. The Theran decree tells of Battos, Archagetes [founder] and king leading one hundred Therans to Africa; Herodotus writes that with Battos as their leader and king...they sent two pentekonters to [Africa], with each pentekonter containing fifty rowers each. Herodotus says the colonists were chosen with brother drawing lots with brother; the Theran decree relates that [o]n equal and fair terms shall they sail according to family. The inscription gives the rules to govern the actions of the colonists: their rights of citizenship, the results of hardships to the colony. It also details how men could be forced to join the colonization party, and that the consequence for disobeying the order of the mother city was death. Herodotus remains silent on

And when around 98% of a population is suffering to make a living, there is little hope for those in power. Taxes levied only on the common folk, crippling wars that left France with huge debts, and the careless spending of the upper classes ultimately lead to the start of the revolution. The main political cause was that the King had too much power but weak foreign policy leads to economic downturn. The main social cause was that French society was too imbalanced but it was truly economic exploitation of the lower class. The French Revolution had many probable causes, all linked together, but none as important and defining as the economic aspect. There were social and political causes to the French Revolution but both derived from economic cause. The imbalance of social classes was in part the root of the lower classes hatred towards the upper class. But it was because the lower class had no mobility in French Society that people started looking for change. Moving up in rank or position was nearly impossible and those with power, always had the power. This proved to be troublesome as one s hard work would not reap any benefits and would still have to pay heavy taxes to provide lavish lives for those in the upper class. As Dr. Gail Bossenga states in his book, Origins of the French Revolution, perhaps the search for the social origins of the

Note: a larger version of this diagram is located in the CONTENT section of this lesson. 1. Convergent Boundary of two Oceanic Plates: When two oceanic plates collide, one of the plates is subducted under the other during the collision. At the subduction zone, a deep trench is formed in the ocean floor. Oceanic and oceanic plate convergence result in the formation of volcano chains. Over millions of years, the lava and debris from the volcanic eruptions pile up on the ocean floor until the volcano rises above sea level to form a volcanic island. These types of islands are usually formed as chains called island arcs (which run parallel to the trench). 2. Convergent Boundary of an Oceanic and Continental Plate: When an oceanic plate collides with a continental plate, the crust forming the oceanic plate gets bent and pulled under the continental crust (which is because the rocks that the oceanic crust is comprised of are thicker than the rocks that form the continental crust). The process where the oceanic crust is pulled under the continental crust is called subduction and the zone at which this occurs at the plate boundaries is called the subduction zone. It is at the subduction zone where the oceanic crust sinks beneath the continental crust, forming a deep oceanic trench. As well, oceanic and continental plate collisions can result in earthquakes, volcanoes and folded mountain

The article explains how managers rely on common leadership approaches that work well in one set of circumstances but fall short of others. In the complex environment of the current business world, leaders often will be called upon to act against their instincts. They will need to know when to share power and when to wield it alone, when to look to the wisdom of the group and when to take their own counsel. Born prematurely on Christmas day, he was fatherless and barely three years old when his mom left him as his maternal grandmother s to get remarried and build a second family: challenging childhood but full of promises. Ten years later his mother Hanna, came back in Woolsthorpe, his natal town after the dead of her second husband. Despite her long absence, Newton was still denied of his mom s attention, thus a great contribution to his complex character. Newton s childhood was anything but happy, and throughout his life he verged on emotional collapse, occasionally falling into violent and vindictive attacks against friend and foe alike. After his mother returned to the town, he was forced to quit school and become a farmer, duty that he fortunately failed to fulfill. This failure led him back to King s school at Grantham where he prepared his entrance to Trinity College at Cambridge. The bigger challenge was to overcome the farmer live in profit of a fructuous student life. His life therefore changed when he left Woolsthorpe for Cambridge University. Little is known of Newton

John Stuart studied Greek at age three and Latin at eight, and he was asked to recite everything he had learned to his father every day. John Stuart also studied mathematics and science for his personal enjoyment and would engage in long discussions with his father about histories and biographies that he had read. It is interesting to note that John Stuart was also empowered with the responsible for educating his eight younger siblings. His childhood comprised of a strict environment of learning, teachings and tutoring, however, John Stuart felt that he was emotionally compromised by his father s educational plan. Although John Stuart never actually attended university, by the age of twenty, he essentially had a postgraduate self education in logic, political economy and law. As an adult, John Stuart once stated that, out of all of his studies, teachings and education, the element that he

As the gas industries have grown in America, the concern that the extraction of natural gas from the undergrown increase. With this mention, it is normal than environmentalist tries to blame contamination to the fracking industries. First, the shells protect the water for touching chemicals that are on the field or the engineers use. Next, chemicals that are used in the drill are of daily use to our life, as an example, sand, detergents, pool cleaners, and more. Lastly, the drill does not cause any earthquake. Each industry has their own mixture of chemicals that are added to the water for the drill procedure. Nevertheless, all the mixtures are created by chemical engineers, who are more than capable to create a mixture that will not damage the environment. A new measurement has been introduced by U.S. Sens. Joe Manchin and Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia and Barbara Boxer. The measurement stated that all fracking chemical industries should inform of all location where they store the chemicals every five years, in addition, they should inform of the location every three years if there is any water facility closed by ( Toxic Chemical Regulations ). The Traditions And Ethics Of The Bible Word For Word Essay When looking at the traditions of Catholic Social Teachings, people think that they must use the teachings of the ancient world and look at the bible word for word. Massaro talks about how all over the world, people have shared their traditions and ethics to tell others how they live and what worked for them to live a better planned life. All throughout history, people have been trying to find better ways to live, how to live together and to love one another. This is how we as a species have created traditions and ethics through many generations. The focus will be on how these traditions from the Catholic Social Teachings and the ethics of many people affects this constantly shifting world. Massaro begins with how ethics have a very important role in the decisions we make, how we have developed laws, and other principles that we live our life s from. Over the past generations, people have developed different ethics that they write down for future generations to learn from and develop even further. If a group discovers a beneficial pattern of behavior or a set of useful reflections about appropriate human activity, members of the may record it in written form or find other ways to share with future generations (Massaro, 2012). The chapter then begins to go all the way back to when mankind first walked the earth, at the dawn of human history, codes of virtuous behavior were passed down orally; some of the earliest surviving written documents were codes of laws inscribed on

Then your friends make you feel like you re a loser for being the only one not doing what they re doing and you know deep down inside you aren t that type of person to follow behind. Now let s speak on how this peer pressuring even starts. What is it, where does it start, what age group is the most effected. Firstly, what is peer pressure? It is summed up to be the influence within your peers. Peer pressureoften involves pressure to engage in certain activities or conform to certain standards set by the group. It could include dressing a certain way, only associating with certain people, or using drugs. There are a lot of things that causes peer pressure. Starting with the individuals feeling like they need to be accepted or recognized by the popular people or people they admire. Some teens tend to be into peer pressure when others aren t the same as them. Their peers usually bully, harass, and tease them just because they are different. Some other teens get into peer pressure because their peers around them are doing things they aren t doing and they are tempted to try to do what they are doing. For example, why do underage teens drink alcohol even though they know that they are not allowed to do it? Teens drink alcohol mostly because of peer pressure and who they hang around are influencing it. They think that drinking at a young age is a cool thing to do

Peter Jackson s 2005 remake took the foundation for King Kong and expanded upon it in almost every way in order to make again the amazement of the original for a modern audience. Audiences received the original King Kongvery well. The stop motionsequences of Kong were amazing for their time and the movie grossed $90,000 in its opening weekend. In order to bank upon its success again sequels were made and then in 1976 a remake was made to improve upon the original. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While Jackson s remake is true to the original for the most part, there are some small changes made in order to make the movie more appealing. In the original King Kong it is the lead actor in the movie that saves the damsel in distress but in the 2005 remake it is the scriptwriter that saves the female actress. This change is likely due to the recent trend of heroes coming from unlikely places. Studios know that if a movie does well the first time, it is likely to do well the second time and even the third time. King Kong is no exception. Producers can presume that the glory of the original will pass on to the remake since audiences hope for that feeling again. Whether the movie is better or not doesn t matter. Audiences will go to see King Kong over the years because the remakes are associated with the original. Every King Kong remake is based on the same principles: wanting to create a movie that will capture audiences and instill in them a sense of wonderment and awe. The original did this and the remakes try to do it again. Directors, producers, and studios may change the story, update the actors and technology but they are essentially just trying to cash in on the success of the original. One of the great perks of having the business simulation is that it can be used for all employees, new and seasoned, to be able to develop further knowledge. With simulations they do not all have to be complex, like having all the business processes of the organization. The simulation could simply have specific skills related to them. These concepts could include communication, feedback, leadership and team skills, problem solving, decision making, managing resources, budgeting, and the list continues. Essentially every department can have its own business simulation game to learn the processes necessary. This allows the company to move individuals internally and allow for growth within the company. Say they have an individual who has been doing accounting for the company and want to promote them to finance manger, they can use a business simulation game to have them better understand the tasks they will be performing as a finance manager before having them go into it blind. Another example could be that the company has noticed there is some lack of communication going on between the manager and his employees. The simulator could enhance the mangers understanding of how to communicate stronger, which can improve the satisfaction of employees. Being able to take the simulation and adjust it to the necessary processes that the company is looking to use for

Two years later I have a better understanding of the actual play and while I still enjoy the 2009 production the 1982 production directed by Jonathan Miller presents the words of William Shakespearein a more accurate and period specific manor. From the opening scenes of Trevor Nunn s 2009 production of King Lear, the audience is made aware of a dark, ominous cloud that is about to envelope them. The use of low lights and spotlights allows for a slow augmentation of the yet to come tragic aspects of the play. The minimal use of props and background sets allows his audience to focus on the characters and their dialogue. Besides the set design, background music for any movie can also make or break a production. The 1982 production directed by Jonathan Miller declined to have any music from the opening scene and went directly into dialogue whereas Nunn s version has an opening musical score that is reminiscent of a scene from the Phantom of the Opera. The music is a lead in to an over dramatic scene where the people bow down to King Lear and subsequently the dialogue of the play begins. • 42. Analysis Of Honour Killing By Imtiaz Dharker Poetry: Honour Killing Textual Commentary Honour killing is a poem written by Imtiaz Dharker which depicts the struggles of women within countries in the middle east that oppress women whether it be verbally or physically, and Dharker being a Pakistani woman expressed her views through this piece of work. An honour killing is the act of taking someone s life who has disrespected themselves and their family, an example of this is a Pakistani woman who was shot by her family because she wanted to divorce the man she was with. The true difference between a western culture and a middle eastern culture can be shown in the fact that the Pakistani senate refused to condemn what happened to this woman and deemed it an honour killing. The poem is an outcry for freedom for woman who are being oppressed and kept down by cultural ideas within the countries which commit these acts. The main objective of this poem is to illustrate how woman within middle eastern countries (possibly more of the world) are kept down by certain aspects of society such as cultural aspects or religious aspects, Dharker wanted to bring this issue into the light through means of poetry. A concept which most people around the world want to have is patriotism as it shows loyalty to a country and also represents a home, however a rather large perception throughout the poem is a sense of wanting to strip away the patriotism. The first time Dharker represents the notion of wanting to be rid of a society s expectations is in the line I m taking off this veil, this black veil of a faith The woman who is speaking here is describing taking off her veil which in some middle eastern countries can be an offence to religious beliefs; the poem shows that women within these countries feel like they are being forced into situations which aren t fair to them, for example honour killings. The way Dharker writes is to inform the audience of serious issues which are more than relevant in modern society, she wants to make the reader see how women are treated differently and how they need to strip away at their own beliefs just to feel like they can fit in when they should be able to fit in no matter where they are living. Individuality also plays a role in what
  • 43. The Nerve Of Nerve Conduction Nerve conduction studies are often utilized by clinician to diagnose patients suffering neuromuscular diseases that cannot be determined by neurological examination alone. Nerve conduction velocity (NCV) measures the speed of conduction of an electrical impulse that travels through a nerve. It is an expression of the physiological state of the nerve itself. In order to determine the NCV of the Ulnar nerve, a stimulator is initially used to depolarize the nerve. A small electrical stimulus is applied to the nerve. Before the electrical stimulation, the membrane is said to be at resting potential of 70mv. If the electrical impulses is greater then the threshold potential ( 55mv), then the electrical stimulus will causes the opening of the Na+ channel, permitting the influx of Na+ into the cell membrane, thus causing further depolarization of the cell membrane. The K+ channels open thereafter and leads to efflux of K+ and restoration of the resting potential of the membrane. The rapid change in the charge of the nerve is called an action potential(AP). In the Ulnar nerve, the depolarization associated with the AP travels rapidly, with little attenuation from one node of Ranvier to the next. This known as Saltatory conduction. As the AP travels down the nerve cell, it causes the release of Acetyl coenzyme A (acetyl CoA) into the synapse. As acetyl CoA binds to the nicotinic acetylcholine, it causes an AP in the muscle cell. AP propagates down the T tubules to the sarcoplasmic

In general, to control what we can and can t do with the media and hardware we ve purchased. 1.Historical perspective of DRM The practices of copyright protection and DRM have been around since decades ago. In fact, when the Altair BASIC was first introduced in 1975, the Homebrew Computer Club (a computer hobbyists club) member made unauthorized copies of Altair basic software and distributed them at the club meeting. At that time, MITS Company licensed the software from Micro soft (now Microsoft). Although MITS has been selling thousand computers a month, Micro Soft wasn t getting much royalty fees since basic copies have been distributed illegally. This led to the famous open letter open letter to hobbyists by Bill Gates which he expressed his frustrations towards the hobbyists. In the letter, he said As the majority of hobbyists must be aware, most of you steal your software. Hardware must be paid for, but software is something to share. Who cares if the people who worked on it get paid? Is this fair? But the first implementation of DRM only came about in 1983 by Japanese Engineer Ryoichi Mori and it was implemented in Software Service System (SSS) which is later redefined as Superdistribution. The main focus of SSS was to protect the unauthorized copying by encryption. The SSS would include a

Classical conditioning is shown when a neutral stimulus needs certain properties of the unconditioned stimulus, through matching the unconditioned stimulus with a neutral stimulus. Behaviour is controlled by association. Operant conditioning is demonstrated when the reinforcing consequences immediately following the response increases its future likelihood (Lisa Bustamante, et al. 1996.). For example Skinner (1904 1990) who was considered the best behavioural psychologist of all time, undertook many experiments looking at learning processes and how stimuli effect a performance. Psychodynamic methods of investigation are clinically derived rather than scientifically experimented in the behaviouristic approach. Most psychodynamic experiments are done by observations taking into consideration the views of the person being observed. Sigmund Freud a renowned psychodynamic psychologist and physician believed that by using his patients for analysis in the area of psychodynamics he would be able to get a basis to his work. This involved treating patients that had intense fears and phobias, however Freud couldn t understand why the fear was there in the first place because there was no physical trait that could explain it. Freud believed that there were different levels of consciousness and that when unconscious forces are too strong they can result in clinical conditions such as anxiety (Lee. L, 2015). Which led to the conclusion that fears must be developed in the sub conscious

It is of strong interest to molecular biologists because of the strong light emission of 508 nm under UV light. UV wavelengths excite the fluorophore, contained in the Ser Tyr Gly sequence near GFP s N terminus, and a bright green fluorescence is given off as a result (Niwa et al., 1996). GFP can be successfully tagged to many proteins without disturbing their function (Feilmeier et al., 2000). This allows scientists to exploit the protein for its usefulness in marking proteins in vivo. GFP tagging has many applications. It can be used to study gene expression by inserting gfp after a promotor in the plasmid, so that if expressed, the colony expressing the gene of interest can be identified by a green fluorescence of GFP under UV light (Feilmeier et al., 2000). Specific cellular organelles can be tagged, such as the endoplasmic reticulum, to visualize protein localization and networking inside the living cell. GFP can also be used to monitor cofactor levels within a cell in real time. For example, when GFP was tagged to proteins that contain a receptor sensitive to Ca2+, they interacted in a way so that the fluorescence of the fusion protein was proportional to the calcium ion concentration with less than a 1 second lag in the cell (Romoser et al., 1997). Throughout the decades, GFP mutants have been created to give brighter emission and different wavelengths. Researchers can track separate cell pathways at the same time, since different proteins can
  • 51. Traffic Lights In Victorian England An aristocratic family of four await in their horse drawn carriage for the local pedestrians to cross the busy streets of Victorian England. The chilly winds of late December froze the family amidst the loud but muffled conversations from all of the other Victorians who were struggling to reach home for Christmas. Suddenly, intricately detailed, delicate pieces of white dust began to sprinkle from the darkening, evening sky. A deafening sound echoed from the muffled noises, causing chaos within the close packed rows of carriages and pedestrians on broad streets of the capital. An impatient man leaped out of the luxurious coach and charged towards the shivering walkers, who were struggling to determine whether or not they should cross the crowded... Despite the frustration that arises every time one realizes that he or she would arrive at a location later, this device serves a crucial role in modern society. To begin, the brief pause in one s journey caused by this object can contribute more to society than merely regulate the flow of traffic. According to research done in Australia, traffic lights aid people to conserve this planet s air quality (DumГ©). Since traffic lights control the movement of traffic and tell drivers when it is appropriate to move their vehicles, one would be able to maintain the motion of this automobile more smoothly. This action would allow the transportation system from releasing excessive car emissions, which are discharged when a vehicle unexpectedly and necessarily brakes, stops, or accelerates. Moreover, the traffic light serves an essential purpose in society, which is public safety (Why Are Traffic Lights So Important?). The most frequent accidents are caused by the lack of infrastructure (World Health Organization). Therefore, to retain order and more safety, there must be more fundamental rules, like traffic lights, which could physically be seen by a driver so he or she would restrain from moving the position of his or her vehicle at a certain point. Finally, although traffic lights were invented to ensure that the
  • 52. Analysis Of Paul Cezanne s The Large Bathers The Large Bathers, 1898 1905 is the largest of Paul Cezanne s pictures and has been cited as an example of his ideal of composition and his restoration of classic monumentality after its lapse during the nineteenth century. CГ©zanne s great achievement forced the young Picasso, Matisse, and many other artists to contend with the implications of CГ©zanne s art. This essay will discuss how both Matisse s Bonheur de Vivre (Joy of Life) and Picasso s Les Demoiselles d Avignon are considered as inspired by and breaking free of The Large Bathers. Paul Cezanne s painting The Large Bathers was his last and arguably his greatest work. Cezanne labored on this painting for seven years. The subject is a group of women bathing by a river. The canvas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Matisse was influenced by CГ©zanne s method of analyzing and pulling apart his subject matter. Like Paul CГ©zanne, Matisse believed that everything could be broken down into simple shapes and painted that way (Matisse, Bonheur de Vivre, n.d.). In Bonheur de Vivre the broken down figures accurately represent the human form and living scenery. The figures in The Large Bathers emit a feeling of calm while the scene depicted in Bonheur de Vivre is a place full of life and love and freedom. Unlike the paintings by CГ©zanne, Matisse s work does not depict forms that recede in the background and diminish in scale. In Bonheur de Vivre, the scale of the figures in the foreground and the middle ground is badly skewed (Matisse, Bonheur de Vivre, n.d). Matisse brought exploration of vision through space by incorporating shifting perspectives. As a result, the viewer relates differently to the painting and is required to enter the scene. Matisse s painting is perhaps the first canvas to actually further the elder master s ideas. As well as Matisse s Bonheur de Vivre, Pablo Picasso s Les Demoiselles d Avignon was inspired by and deviated from Cezanne s great achievement. Cezanne s landscape is a broad open field with the abstract females surround a pond as they bath with abstract surroundings, very much different from Picasso s
  • 53. A Presentation Of The Special Operation This is a presentation of the Special Operation (SO) Imperatives displayed in character situations within The Ugly American. I have also compared and contrasted my personal experiences with these situations. Throughout this process, I analyzed and assessed not only the similarities and differences between the character situations and the SO Imperatives, but I evaluated and chose experiences that meant something to my development as a man and Green Beret. As a man who believes in being authentic, I reflected on my deployment experiences in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Qatar to analyze my choices. I call this presentation my growth through experience because I will never develop into the man I want to be unless I develop into the man I need to be. My main topics will center around three situations in the book. The first topic will center on Ruth Jyoti as she speaks to Joseph Rivers about U.S. foreign policy in Setkya. The second topic will center on Ambassador Macwhites discussion with the Honorable Li Pang. The third topic will center on the Martin family when U Maung Swe spoke about improving the prestige of America in Southeast Asia. I will use my experiences of my times in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Qatar as examples. Although every instance of this book can derive from understanding or not understanding the operational environment, my points will explore how my team and I applied them in modern operations. Ruth Jyoti had the uncanny ability to understand the application of
  • 54. Immanuel Kant And Good Will Immanuel Kant begins his piece of work by outlining that humans have desires and appetites (Sommers 1985, p.86). According to Kant, morals are classed very highly due to the fact that humans have the capacity to function reasoning. The main question however, does the moral reason have absolute value? A key argument within the text is Good will. Good will enables an individual to perform an effect. Kant argues that it is important that all acts must be done through the use of good will. This is because by acting through your good will, you are making sure the action can also be good. This then can lead to good consequences. Although, personally, this has made me think of bad actions leading to good consequences, that sometimes it is good
  • 55. Elements Of Suspense In The Fall Of The House Of Usher Goth, a fascination of all that is dark and curious, is often devoted by intelligent, romantic and artistic realists that can be found all around the globe and come from many different backgrounds and ethnicities. Throughout The Fall of the House of Usher suspense, symbolism, and gothic element can be portrayed in aspects of Goth, creating eerie mystery and anticipation. An uneasy tension of suspense can be created from something unpredicted and mysterious. The narrator uses the tactic of nervous tension to keep the reader on edge when it is informed, The disease which had thus entombed the lady in the maturity of youth, had left, as usual in all maladies of strictly cataleptical character, (Poe, 305) discussing the death of Madeline. ... As the gloom sets in and becomes known, the atmosphere is intensely described, There was an iciness, a sinking, sickening of the heart an unredeemed dreariness of thought which no goading of the imagination could torture into aught of the sublime. (Poe, 294) This illustrates an unsettling vibe to the reader as, Minute fungi overspread the whole exterior, hanging in a fine tangled web work from the eaves. (297) The impression of the surroundings can be reported as harsh and wearisome, which then creates a foreshadow of the uncanny events to come. A weariness in atmosphere can also be depicted in, During the whole of a dull and soundless day in the autumn of the year when the clouds hung oppressively low in the heavens, (293) as an ominous presence in setting is again being emphasized to show the conditions in which the Ushers have been living in. Nature is being used to set the chilling ambiance making it gothic and eerie. It is also noted that, Perhaps the eye of a scrutinizing observer might have discovered a barely perceptible fissure, which, extending from the roof of the building in front, made its way down the wall in a zigzag direction, (297) showing how the old house has a history much as the Ushers do. The setting in the story contributes greatly to the element of goth. Aspects of Goth can be portrayed throughout The Fall of the House of Usher creating anticipation and eerie mystery through the use of suspense, symbolism, and gothic element. While others may consider Goth culture evil and abnormal, there is real beauty of deeper meaning discovered in the darkness of the unnatural that one must be open minded and spiritual to
  • 56. Censorship In It Happened Last Night The famous movie, It Happened One Night was filmed in an interesting period in American movie making movie due to the implementation of the Production Code. This code sought to censor movies of explicit material and possibly immoral themes. This severely restricted the content of movies and forced directors and writers to creatively imply certain sex, crime and other nefarious acts while still providing a level of innocence. One of the most obvious points of this censorship in It Happened Last Night occurred during the night Ellie and Peter spent together. By far the most glaring was the Wall of Jericho Peter created to separate the two of them. The Wall of Jericho is actually an allusion to the biblical city of Jericho, which had impenetrable
