  What’s ICT?               Information & Communication Technology (ies)

          “A diverse set of technological devices and resources used for communication
          purposes as well as for disseminating, storing and manipulating information”

                                                                        What’s e-Learning?
A type of formal & informal type of learning that makes use of a suitable information network in
order to deliver courses, interact, evaluate and facilitate the learning process.


  What’s blended learning?
 A learning system that makes use of both traditional methods and e-learning platforms. The
 main premise in this is: “not all learning processes are best achieved in an electronically-
 mediated environment. Instead, blended learning takes the best approaches of both methods
 in order to efficiently arrive at the learning objectives satisfying most of the students’ treats.

Open & distance learning
      A system to provide learning opportunities featuring the separation of instructor
      and learner in both place and time. It exploits the use of diverse media types in
      order to facilitate interaction.


                                              Learner-centered platforms
  Environments that take advantage of previous knowledge, skills, attitudes, beliefs and
  limitations that any learner carries to a “classroom” setting.

  Learning comes from experience through which a learner can build up mental models
  of schemas. Knowledge is manipulated via an active process that allows the learner to
  transform information, elaborate hypotheses, make decisions more efficiently.

  The learning process must be active, contextualized and socially interacted with an
  instructor as a facilitator or a guide to experience.

ICT & access to Education
        It provided a wider spectrum of people (especially those excluded for cultural or
        social reasons) with access to critical information without formal enrolling to

ICT & preparation for the working place
 Technological literacy is nowadays a premise for most education institutions especially
 within a more globalized world. 21st Century Skills have been devised as a tool for
 raising educational quality and standards which promotes and motivates a more
 learner-centered environment.
