Tap as a service: What you need to know nowFawad Khaliq
Tap-as-a-Service is a relatively new OpenStack project that was designed to provide tenants and service providers a means of monitoring the traffic flowing in their Neutron provisioned virtual networks. A lot of work has been carried out in the last two cycles, with multiple developers from around the world now contributing to the cause.
This presentation offers a review of all the progress made to date. We will discuss the primary motivations for monitoring network activity, explore the major challenges one can expect to encounter when attempting to monitor network traffic in a cloud environment and describe the need for a platform oriented solution. Next, an overview of the TaaS architecture and API will be presented, along with an update on current development activities and some of the planned enhancements for the future. We will also demonstrate traffic visibility solutions for a representative set of use cases covering network trouble-shooting, security and analytics.
This was a tutorial which Mark McClain and I led at ONUG, Spring 2015. It was well received and serves as a walk through of OpenStack Neutron and it's features and usage.
This presentation covers the basics about OpenvSwitch and its components. OpenvSwitch is a Open Source implementation of OpenFlow by the Nicira team.
It also also talks about OpenvSwitch and its role in OpenStack Networking

the staff2 of Toyota Motor Corp. (OMCD - Operations Management Consulting Division.
By 1970, Toyota had a fairly stable production system internally and they made a decision to
assist suppliers by sharing their knowledge and skills. To do this, Toyota created a special

Management Consulting Division – OMCD)
his 1973 manual was also used as course materials by Ohno and his team – the Japanese
Management Association compiled their workshop materials and released it as a book in the
1978. Productivity Press translated it and released it as Kanban: Just-in-time at Toyota in

TPS Manual, it is not presented in the same order.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

11. The future - trailblazer standards (TS)
• TS will replace existing apprenticeship frameworks (by 2020?)
• TS and Assessment Plans are written by employers and approved by BIS
• TS are usually 2 pages long and include
– Knowledge and understanding
– Skills
– Behaviours
12. Trailblazer standards (TS)
• All TS include an independent end point assessment (EPA)
– EPA must be conducted by an approved assessment
organisation
• Apprentices will be graded, where possible
• Maths and English (Functional Skills or GCSE) a requirement
• Minimum 12 months duration and a minimum 20% off-the-job

standards-ready-for-delivery
• Qualifications are generally not included in the new apprenticeships
16. Trailblazer delivery
• EPA must be conducted by an approved assessment organisation
• Providers can contract with employers to deliver training
• Providers cannot deliver training and EAP to the same employer
• Employers can be providers or an assessment organisation
(Providers will also provide assessment and support to apprentices on
an ongoing basis)
