Hyperosmia is an increased sense of smell caused by a lower threshold for odor detection arising from abnormalities in the olfactory system. Common symptoms include an extremely heightened sense of smell. While some experience it naturally, hyperosmia can also be associated with conditions like migraines, cluster headaches, Addison's disease, or pregnancy. Unfortunately, there are no known effective treatments for hyperosmia.
