Hyperosmia
Definition
• Hyperosmia is an increased olfactory
acuity (heightened sense of smell), usually
caused by a lower threshold for odor. This
perceptual disorder arises when there is
an abnormally increased signal at any
point between the olfactory receptors and
 the olfactory cortex
Symptoms
• cluster headaches, migraines, and
 Addison's Disease (adrenal cortical
insufficiency). It can also occur in
 pregnant women. However, there are
people who naturally have an extremely
 heightened sense of smell.
Risk Factors
• Hyperosmia may also have a psychological
 or neurological origin. Psychedelic drugs,
including psilocin, 2C-B, and LSD have
reportedly been shown to increase the
 sense of smell.
Treatment
• Unfortunately, there aren't really any
 known, effective treatments for
people with Hyperosmia, and they are
usually forced to deal with their
 condition on their own.
Statistics
• 100% of experience teens experience
hyperosmia but what you don’t know
is that pregnate women happen to
 suffer from hyperosmia more.
