Jeans During The Gold Rush
Jeans are something that we think it is a fashion statement but they aren t. The real reasons jeans
were made for is for miners during the gold rush. The person who made them was a guy named
Levi Strauss, but he didn t intend on making them he wanted to make tents and wagon covers. He
made pants that were made for working into a style forever. Man, that is a lot right who knows.
Levi Sounds familiar right I mean it should. Levi was original from new york and traveled to
California to get rich. He wanted to make wagon covers and tents for the miners but no one was in
the market for them. Then he made a type of pants that could withstand the mines. Then when the
miners came home word spread that it could stand the Ruf conditions of the workplace.

Neolithic Revolution Or Agricultural Revolution

Neolithic Government
Around 12,000 years ago the Neolithic or Agricultural Revolution began. This period started after
the end of the last ice age. The Neolithic Revolution brought the first organized government. The
Neolithic Revolution made government essential because there was a need to organize the more
expansive population, large construction projects, and trade with other Neolithic Villages.
During the Neolithic Revolution not only did the amount of surplus food grow, but so did the
population creating a need for organization from a leader or some sort of government. According
to scholars, the world s population 10,000 years ago was a microscopic 6 million people. By
comparison there are 6 billion people estimated on Earth today. The population then grew to
about 50 million people by 5,000 years ago. What took place during those 5,000 years? The
agricultural revolution began just about 12,000 years ago or 10,000 B.C.E. During that time the
last ice age ended, creating a more stable environment for growing crops and domesticating
animals. The domestication of plants and animals created a surplus of food compared to the
amount of food in gathering and hunting societies. An abundance of food allowed more people to
live in each village. An example of population growth in a Neolithic Village is the early
agricultural settlement of Jericho located in present day Israel. Jericho was uncovered by

I Believe Webb Was A Transformational Leader Essay
Throughout history, there have been various amounts of leaders and leadership styles. There have
also been instances in American history where capable and influential leaders have been crucial to
the formation of our nation. A very inspiring and motivating leader in American history is
Alexander S. Webb. I believe that Webb was a transformational leader. Born on February 15th,
1853, in NYC, New York, Webb was raised in a house with military leaders. Attending the United
States Military Academy in 1855, he continued his service until the yeah 1870 with many different
accomplishments and goals met. He received recognition from men who have shaped the country
today and made differences in the way men were led during combat. Throughout his military career,
I believe Webb established a transformational leadershipstyle. I also would like to obtain the sane
leadership qualities he possessed and be able to apply them to my own career. Alexander S Webb,
Brevet Major General Webb in the Army, is a leader worth looking up to and following.
To begin with, Webb ranked 13 out of 34 when he graduated from the United States Military
Academy. He had an excellent militarily lineage to look up to as well. Both his father and
grandfather were active members in the Army. At the outbreak of the Civil War, Webb began to
show all his leadership styles in front of many high ranks on different occasions. Through time, he
gained the trust of higher ranks with his qualities and was promoted quickly.

What Role Did Women Play In The American Industrial...
As the American Industrial Revolution began in the first half of the 19th century, girls as young
as five left their farm homes to find work, personal independence and adventure. There were
good jobs in New England mills. The mill girls of Lowell, MA, became an integral part of the
social and economic changes underway. They helped shape mill rules, protested actively for fair
wages, improved working conditions and secured shorter hours. They helped establish women s
employment possibilities. Their actions during this time established a strong legacy and serve as a
guide for today s labor disputes. By creating a strong legacy that included securing equitable rights
and opportunities for women workers, the Lowell mill girls were an important... Show more content

Work hours were long (generally 70 or more hours each week). The workplace was hot and dirty
( Lowell Mill Girls ). Work was hard, tedious and sometimes dangerous. There were reports of
falls, metal object projectiles striking workers, parts of hands damaged or lost in machinery and
bales of cotton falling on workers ( The Mill Girls; Alexaraeburk; McCabe 70). Living
conditions were generally considered tolerable (Wright 11) and offered a certain degree of
normalcy, a sense of community and gender solidarity (Alexaraeburk). Wages for women were
considered very good for this time in U.S. history. Unfortunately, their $1.75 to $3 each week
was about half of the rate men in the mill received (McCabe 36). Despite these circumstances,
visiting dignitaries admired the paternalism mill owners showed to the mill girls and also the
quality of the Mill Girls work and diligence trying to improve their position and prospects in life.
British visitors were surprised to see the majority of the workers were women and their personal
appearance and demeanor were so much better than the girls working in English factories.
Interestingly, the visitors generally observed the Lowell mill girls were so infinitely superior as to
make a stranger immediately perceive that some very large cause must have created the difference.
The visitors admired the environment and attitude of both workers and owners who, in their
judgment, were pursuing higher goals

The Discovery Of The Indian Caribbean Museum Of Trinidad...
Introduction On Saturday 14th January 2017, I visited the Indian Caribbean Museum. The museum
is situated at #10 Swami Avenue, Don Miguel, San Juan, Trinidad and Tobago. It is located nearby
the temple in the sea at Waterloo. It is also stationed directly opposite the Waterloo Hindu Temple.
The museum is a small flat building which consists of ancient artifacts. The museum s large
collection has been acquired through field trips by managers of the institution. The collection of
artifacts comprises of old items such as musical instruments, agricultural objects, cooking utensils,
pieces of clothing, ancient photographs and historical books. These different artifacts are separated
by glass cases and are properly labeled. Some artifacts... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

chairman Dr. Kumar Mahabir, the curator, Saisbhan Jokhan, the vice curator, Ann Marie Ramhit,
and twelve other committee members are the managers of the museum. The last Saturday of each
month the committee members get together for a meeting. At this meeting the curator would report
to the committee. The committee makes decisions and decides on how to improve and develop the
museum in the best way possible. Also on the first Wednesday of each month the curator reports to
the executive of the Maha Sabha. The museums superior collections comprises of unique resources
and artifacts of immigrants who settled in Trinidad and Tobago. It includes cooking utensils,
historical and religious books, ancient photographs, musical instruments, agricultural objects,
jewelry, clothing and forms of transportation (bicycle).
Discussion of Selected Artifacts Three types of artifacts that interested me the most at the museum
are the agricultural objects, the cooking utensils and clothing. The agriculture objects such as:
cutlass, pick axe, axe grinding stone and grass knife (hassawa). The grinding stone also known as

Saudi Arabia Exporting Crude Oil
Saudi Arabia exporting Crude Oil to India:
Introduction:
Saudi Arabia is the 5th largest export economy in the world. India and Saudi Arabia relations refer
to the bilateral relationship between the Republic of India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Relations between the two nations is strong and close. India is now the world s third largest
importer of crude oil after the United States and China.
Payment for International Contract:
For importing crude oil from Saudi Arabia to India, the most convenient way of making payment is
the Letter of Credit. It is the most secure in reducing risk of nonpayment because trading in an

The credit operation by the Aramco is very straightforward and easy to do. When the exporter has

If the advising bank has accepted the documents from Aramco (Exporter), it refrain from

For example, grabbing five minutes immediately before the reported time and 5 minutes

Bedouins In The Arabian Peninsula
Between 200 to 800 CE, the Arabian Peninsula went through drastic changes over time in a time
period of 6 centuries. People from the Arabian Peninsula started to convert to Islam from Animist

women increasing then suddenly deteriorating following Prophet Muhammads death in 632.
In 200 CE, The majority of the Arabian Peninsula was Animist Polytheist, people who believed in

Their structure is based upon a kinship and the leader of family is part of a bigger social
structure consisting of councils and elders. Women also had a high status in comparison to the
other empires, as their advice was also considered valuable. Many of the Bedouins who lived in
Arabian Peninsula carved and worshipped idols whom they believed to be intermediary to the
almighty Gods. Arab polytheism, the dominant form in pre Islamic Arabia was based on

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to give an overview of the budget process. It analyzes flexible budgets,
discusses the relationship between fixed and variable cost, explores the differences between static
and flexible budgets, and how budgets assist in the cost volume profitability analysis.
The Purpose of Flexible Budgets A budget is a tool used by businesses to plan for upcoming
revenues and expenses. Businesses understand the difficulty of planning for the future.

These budgets differ from static budgets in that they show projected expenses and revenue at a
variety of levels (Edmonds, 2007). Like all budgets, the flexible budget establishes line items for
expenses and revenue for a given period with a value assigned to each line. This budgeting
approach allows for quick changes to line items in the event of unforeseen complications. A rigid,
static budget that is based on a single set of projections, and doesn t [Contractions are inappropriate

How a flexible budget lends itself to a cost volume profit analysis Flexible budgets are a very
useful management tool. These types of tools can provide information needed for planning and
performance evaluation. Flexible budgets are based on actual volume of activity [Add comma

organizations with achieving desirable profit levels. Managers may assess whether the company s
cash position is adequate by assuming different levels of volume. They may judge if the number of

of different potential levels of volume, (Edmonds, 2007, p. 5). A flexible budget often compliments

Human Papillomavirus ( Hpv ) Essay
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we know that Human
papillomavirus (HPV) is a kind of severe sexually transmitted infection (STI) and it is so
common that the majority of sexually active people may infect HPV during their lives. The
majority of HPV infections cause no severe symptoms and can be resolved spontaneously in two
years. But some of them preserve and lead to premalignant condition or warts. The premalignant
condition will increase the danger of several kinds of cancers, such as the cervix cancer, vulva
cancer, vagina cancer, mouth cancer and throat cancer. According to the information from the
CDC and WHO, HPV16 and HPV18 are two kinds of high risk HPVs, which may cause cervical
cancer among women; HPV6 and HPV11 are considered to be the common causes of genital warts
and respiratory papillomatosis.[2]
Introduction of HPV

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a kind of DNA virus from the papillomavirus family. There are
more than 150 types of HPV discovered till now. Over 40 types of them are transmitted by sex and
infect the anus and genitals.[5] Early age of first sexual intercourse, poor immune function,

Effect Of Postimpressionists On The Next Generation Essay
Postimpressionism
Postimpressionism was a movement in late 19th century French painting that emphasized the artist
s personal response to a subject. Postimpressionism takes its name from an art movement that
immediately preceded it: Impressionism. But whereas impressionist painters concentrated on the
depiction of a subject s immediate appearance, postimpressionists focused on emotional or spiritual
meanings that the subject might convey. Although impressionist artists interpreted what they saw,
their approach nevertheless remained rooted in observation of the natural world. Postimpressionists
conveyed their personal responses to the world around them through the use of strong, unnatural

The unnaturally blocky forms of the bathers bodies conform to the angularity of the trees that frame
them. To unify different parts of the composition, he used shades of green, brown, and blue
interchangeably in the depiction of sky, earth, flesh, and foliage. The unfinished quality of
CГ©zanne s paintings and his choppy, unblended brushstrokes convey the immediacy of his
personal experience. His technique appealed strongly to other postimpressionists seeking ways to
evoke emotional responses in viewers.
Seurat and van Gogh also drew their subjects from the world around them; Seurat concentrated
primarily on the urban life of Paris, while van Gogh focused on rural scenes. The symbolist
movement, a literary movement that stressed the expression of the artist s inner vision as the
purpose of art, influenced both artists, along with Van Gogh s friend Paul Gauguin.
While in Paris in 1886, Vincent van Gogh experimented briefly with neoimpressionism, but found
its techniques too restrictive. Instead, he used broader brush strokes and incorporated large zones
of single colors into his compositions. A former preacher, van Gogh gave his paintings a spiritual
charge through technique, subject matter, and color. The thick, energetic brushstrokes in Crows in
the Wheatfields (1890), which he painted just two and a half weeks before his suicide, suggest
turbulence. Dark birds hover in a brilliant blue sky

One of the literary highlights of my life has been reading The Hitchhiker s Guide to the Galaxy

However, despite being by far the funniest book I ve ever read, it discusses some fascinating
subjects, both philosophically and scientifically. Because Hitchhiker s Guide is such a fantastic
book, I propose a course based around discussing the topics covered in the book and learning
about the science and philosophy behind the book. The course would allow for in depth

A Case Study For Week Three Centers On A Liability And...
The case study selected for week three centers on a liability and assumption of risk case study. In
this case study, Brent Thomas and George Banks are facing liability charges after Ricky Watts
sustained a serious injury during hockey practice (Essex, 2016). In this situation, Thomas is the
school principal, and Banks is the hockey coach as well as the gym teacher (Essex, 2016). Ricky
obtained injuries after improperly blocking the puck (Essex, 2016). This case studywas selected
because it highlights a situation that will likely be faced by all future school leaders. Sports are
popular among students, and there is inherent riskin each sporting event. A school is open to
liability if they do not ensure that proper protocols are met. Responding to Case Study Questions
Question 1: What factors would determine whether the principal may be liable (Essex, 2016)?
In order to prove Thomas liable in this situation, there would have to be evidence of proximate
cause (Essex, 2016). The student, or student s family, would need to be able to prove that there is a
relationship between the principal s breach of duty, and the injury the student suffered (Essex,
2016). I have dedicated the remainder of this paragraph to describing the ways in which Thomas
may be in breach of his duty. Thomas has the responsibility as the school principal to ensure that

seek through negotiation to resolve certain issues and also to push their foreign policyobjectives.
Research states that the act of conducting negotiations between two people or two nations at a large
scope is essential to the upkeep of international affairs. Without diplomacy, some scholars state that
much of the world s affairs would be abolished. Institutions like international organizations would
not be possible, and above all the world would be at a constant state of war. Scholars of
international relationsstate that it is due to diplomacy that the majority of states exist in harmony.
Diplomacy is split into two types of diplomacy, which are referred to as Traditional Diplomacy
and New Diplomacy. Traditional Diplomacy refers to the diplomatic process only being conducted
by Monarchs (kings and queens) and was seen as a process of pushing their own individual gains
and was normally conducted in secret. New Diplomacy called for the diplomatic process to be more
open, it involved government and non government actors, unlike in traditional diplomacy which
only involved government actors such as

Stakeholders Influences On Tesco PLC
isions that businesses make are called stakeholders. Most decisions affect a number of stakeholders.
Stakeholders have increased influence on company business activities in the early 21st century as
community citizenship and social responsibility have been consistently integrated into business
management. Customers, employees, communities and businesspartners are among key stakeholder
groups that carry weight in company decisions and activities. Understanding the impact of these

Stereotypes Of Women In Math Essay
In the mathematical field there is an obvious differentiation between the amount of males and
females in the field. This might raise the question of why that is or if there even is a specific reason,
well there is, women are heavily pushed away from mathematical careers due to multiple factors.
Although there are not many females in the math field, the ones that are bring different ways of
thinking into light which helps the math careers grow and improve. Even though women do have

women due to the heavy impact of stereotypes on women. In the article Knowing is Half the Battle:
Teaching Stereotypes Threats as a Means of Improving Women s Math Performance it states that
there are many affects that stereotypes have on women that effect their performance including
anxiety and other affective and cognitive responses. (John) When stereotypes are put into play, they
cause problems and the people cannot perform properly because they start to believe the lies of the
stereotypes. One thing from New Trends in Gender and Mathematics Performance: A Meta
Analysis writes that women perform better in a setting where there are no stereotypes versus a
setting that has stereotypes. (Lindberg) This shows that college student women do not perform
well when they are pressured by the stereotypes people say to them, but when put in a place where
there are no stereotypes pressuring them they do better in their mathematical performance.
Stereotypes are one of the main reasons that females have trouble with competing against males,
because they feel that they are not good enough. Stereotypes are a huge problem when deciding
what to do for a career, but when there is a way to deplete stereotypes it might change the

Why Is William Kidd Alive
William Kidd
England in the 18th century, pirates were alive, and the british empire was expanding. There were
many new techniques that were brought in from immigrants that increased the productivity. Many
pirates sailed the waters in search for treasures.
Scotland 1654, William Kidd was born. Little did his parents know how big his future would be.
William grew up to be a pirate, Kidd and his crew set sail around England in the 1700 s. Kidd and
his crew attacked the Quedagh Merchant, a large American ship located on the Indian Ocean,
he found out he was on the wrong side of the british government. He was later hanged in London,
1707. Before Kidd died he kept a journal about his life. I do not care so much for the death of my

In the book, the main character was a cabin boy while in real life Kidd was the captain. Kidd was
very famous and many people favored him. He was nice to everyone who was nice to him. The
book and Kidds life are kind of similar because they both sailed on ships. They both had a big

July 1, 1863, the bloodiest battle on American soil was just beginning, this battle would be known
as The Battle of Gettysburg. This three day battle commenced with Confederate attack led by
General Robert E. Lee, on the north of the small town of Gettysburg. Union President, Abraham
Lincoln had appointed George Meade as Union commander to counter coming attacks in
Gettysburg. This battle would involve other Confederate attacks, ending with a final Union blow

In the beginning of the Civil War the Confederates clearly had the advantage, all the Confederates
had to do was defend their land. This made the Confederates look most likely to win the Civil War,
however, after the Battle of Gettysburg, the Union had the advantage. The four main reasons:
geography of the major battle campaigns, estimated casualties at the Battle of Gettysburg, and the
battle s aftermath showed this. The geography showed how this battle was the last battle shown in
the North. The estimated casualties showed that there were significant losses on both sides but the
South suffered a lot more. Union President Lincoln also told how the Union was affected because
of this battle.

The Legacy Of The Baltimore Bullet Essay

Known as the Baltimore Bullet or Flying Fish (Olympics), Michael Phelps is also known as an
Olympian, writer, philanthropist, and one who has had legal problems; identities that come
together in an athlete that has left a legacy that may never be surpassed. Showing dominance
extending from the beginning of his career to the very end, he is the greatest athlete that the
swimming world, and perhaps even the entire world of sports has ever seen. Phelps s
unprecedented level of achievement not even rivaled by Leonidas of Rhodes in the Olympics
and records in the sport of swimming have created history, his passion for the sport has
contributed back to the community, while his struggles have shown society that problems can be
overcome in order to allow greatness to be achieved. Phelps s struggles began in his childhood.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Phelps did not begin his swimming career until the age of 7
(Bargeron Tidd). Initially scared of the pool, Phelps refused to put his head into the water. Along
with that he was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, at 9 years old (Olympics),
around the time that his parents got divorced. With the mental challenges of the disorder, Phelps
needed an outlet for his physical restlessness. Now a vent to his seemingly limitless energy, the
change led Phelps to make drastic improvements in his swimming. To complete the transformation,

The Roaring Twenties By F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Roaring Twenties were a time of leisure and parties. The media and events surrounding this
time period greatly impacted the carefree, extravagant lifestyle. This era was one of the most
dramatic and energetic times in American history. To many, the symbols of the roaring Twenties
were F. Scott Fitzgerald and his wife, due to their tales of the young and the wealthy (Hanson 96).
The Roaring Twentiesinfluenced many literary works, throughout the 1920s such as F. Scott
Fitzgeralds The Great Gatsbyand This Side of Paradise.
At the start of the 1920s, prohibition had just begun, banning the purchase, sale, and
manufacture of alcohol. This actually had adverse effects as people began to make their own
alcohol and sell it illegally (Hanson 96). World War I had also recently ended, and soldiers were
coming home to a recession in the U.S. The end of the war meant a drop in government
spending and exports. Business bankruptcies tripled between 1919 and 1920. Many businesses
were forced to cut wages and lay off workers (McDonnell 296). As the 1920 recession came to an
end, Americans had more leisure time and money to spare (353). By 1922 the economy had fully
rebounded and there was even a shortage of workers (319). World War I fueled the fire of
American s suspicions of foreigners (McDonnell 296). The Red Scare had Americans paralyzed by
the fear of a possible communist infiltration (301). Along with foreign intolerance, racial intolerance
broke out due to wartime migration

Quality Control Of Car Emission Efficiency
QUALITY CONTROL OF CAR EMISSION EFFICIENCY
1. Introduction
Energy efficiency of vehicles have become one of the most fundamental issue for modern trade,
business life and environment. Even though the zero emission systems hast still progress, it is
plausible to enlarge the fuel efficient vehicles with application of quality assurance practices. The
idea behind this is particularly true for the companies which is related to transportation, where even
small difference can save considerable amount of money.
Moreover, in the fuel economy website, it is mentioned that the fuel economy predicts the fuel
economy tags and to calculate a producer s corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) is received
from car when the testing is done at EPA s National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory in Ann
Arbor which is in Michigan, and by whole car producers who sent their own data to EPA. Every
year, EPA supplies car efficiency data to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Department of
Transportation (DOT) and the Department of Energy (DOE) with this way they can manage their
car efficiency which is associated with programs. (http://www.fueleconomy.gov). Many companies
have many instructions in order to inform the costumers about fuel efficiency. However, on the
other hand, none of these companies are certain on a particular car. That causes less motivation on
drivers because they encounter with something mindboggling. Therefore, we will use the quality
assurance and quality tools which

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Plate Fin Heat Exchanger
b) Counter Flow
In a counter flow heat exchanger the two fluids flow parallel to each other but in opposite
directions. The counter flow heat exchanger provides the most thermally effective arrangement for
recovery of heat or cold from process streams. A counter flow arrangement is thermodynamically
superior to any other flow arrangement. It is the most efficient flow arrangement, producing the
highest temperature change in each fluid compared to any other two fluid arrangement for a given
overall thermal conductance (UA), fluid flow rates and fluid inlet temperatures. Cryogenic
refrigeration and liquefaction equipment use this geometry almost exclusively. But this type of heat

Similarities Between Chris Mccandless And Martin Luther
Rebels and outcasts are commonly compared due to them usually having several similarities. In
doing this you can find that two seemingly different people have quite a lot in common. This is
most certainly the case with Chris McCandless and Martin Luther. Although these two
nonconformists are different in numerous ways, they undoubtedly have their similarities. Even
though they were born hundreds of years apart Chris McCandless and Martin
Luther share several characteristics. Both McCandless and Luther left their families to pursue their

Both took huge risks to do what they thought necessary.
Chris McCandless and Martin Luther have clear similarities, but unsurprisingly they have even
more differences. One of the bigger differences is that McCandless rebelled against society as a
whole, while Luther rebelled against certain teachings in the Catholic Church.
McCandless s rebellion was mostly for himselfНѕ he did not intend to start a movement. Luther had
bigger things in mind when he nailed a copy of The 95 Theses to the door of the Wittenberg
Castle church (History.com, Martin Luther and the 95 Theses ). Having started one of the most

world around him. They also had contrasting views of possessions. McCandless placed little value
on material goods. This was clearly shown by his simplistic lifestyle. Luther, however, did feel that
there was value in possessions. This is shown in his anger for the Catholic Church wanting money

Why Do We Need Crime Statistics
Across the country there are cities that range from millions of residents to thousands. There are
also some towns that have a couple hundred barely enough to be called a town. When you look at
crime you think of these places and wonder where there could possibly be more crime. In a city a
lot of crime is normal do to the population but in a small town with smaller population you won t
see that. The amount of crimereported and processed in a place are the crime statistics and it can
vary depending on the situation. Crime statistics can be taken in two ways (boundless.com). One
way it can be taken is crime reports and surveys. Surveys are super important because it can show
that people who had a crime happen to them didn t call in or report the crime. A crime that is not
reported to the policeis a dark figure of crime (Schmalleger, Frank). These are super important and
are sometimes found out about in only surveys. Imagine how many more crime statistics there
would be if the dark figures of crime were reported and how many more criminals we could stop.
Crime control helps keep order in cities. The crime statistics are taken in two major ways.

it just another way to keep things under more control. Again, this is my opinion and the scales of
justice can tell you something different. According to the scales of justice both processes are

that do not care; therefore, kids that act like this do not deserve to have a participation trophy.
They do not care about the team and some of them are very impertinent. There are even some
people that are there because their parents force them to play. There parents may have been really

why should they get a trophy for that?
Finally, kids that are given participation trophies are given the wrong idea. Fifty seven percent of

The Impact of Universal Studios
The Universal Impact Universal Pictures, or Universal Studios, has been around for a little over
a century and it is currently regarded amongst the top six movie studios in America. It grosses
billions of dollars in revenue annually and produces major hits and movie stars. Universal is also
owned by a giant media conglomerate known as NBC Universal, which is quite different from its
humble beginnings. This paper will provide a brief insight into the relationship between Universal
Pictures and its impact on the movie industry along with how Universal became a big name in
Hollywood. The man who started it all was Carl Laemmle. Born in WГјrttemberg Germany,

Unlike MGM or Warner Bros., short subjects had always been a fundamental part of Universal s
production strategy. In an effort to remove itself from its near bottom industry ranking, the
company flirted occasionally with the prestige feature market during the 1930s, usually to its
п¬Ѓnancial detriment. During this decade it did its best п¬Ѓnancially when it concentrated on its
primary business: turning out low budget features at high speed. Universal s short subject releases
maintained this philosophy throughout the 1930s with amazing consistency, considering the
turnover in management (including the ouster of Laemmle and his son, Carl, Jr, in 1936). Early
in the 1930s, the studio s emphasis was shifted to two reel comedies, starting with the likes of
Slim Summerville, Arthur Lake and Benny Rubin as starring comedians. The Universal two
reelers took a decidedly interesting swing when former Hal Roach studio manager Warren Doane
was hired in 1932 to organize a production unit. Doane, in turn, brought in Roach employees James
W. Horne, a young George Stevens and Alf Goulding as directors, as well as a long time member
of Charles Chaplin s staff, Albert Austin. The unit lasted until 1934, with Stevens leaving for RKO
quite a bit earlier. Unfortunately most of these

Analysis Of The Book Dostoevsky
Xiaolu Wu In the beginning of Five Articles, Dostoevsky talks about how Russia remains an
enigma to the western world, and how the European view of Russia is narrow, stereotypical,
superficial and largely imaginary. Dostoevsky claims that for Europeans, Russians seem to be
barbarians and Europeans at the same time and their identities remain ambiguous for the Europeans,
sometimes even for themselves. But generally, the idea of Russians for Europeans is that Russians
are inferior to other Europeans, are unfaltering in battles, but are not intelligent and mostly
uneducated. But this idea comes from a detached way of observation even for those Europeans who
spend time in Russiastudying this country.
According to Dostoevsky, the Germans come to Russia and judge the Russians by the standard of a
perfect German without realizing that Russians have completely distinct characters. Therefore the
Germans assume an arrogant attitude towards the Russians. While the Frenchmen who go to
Russia bring their stereotypical view of Russia along with them and see everything through the
lens of their preformed stereotypes, like how Russian culture is replaced by the invading new
western culture. However, Dostoevsky refutes this Frenchmen s idea by claiming that the Russians
have already taken the fruit of western civilization and have gone beyond it. The products and
ideas coming from western civilization only serve as a new element, a new force in Russia s
process of returning to

Student Achievement Essay
Each year, children are failing in school. As the years progress, the number of children failing
keep rising. In Closing the Achievement Gap , Kati Haycock, the Director of the Education Trust
at the American Association for Higher Education, states Between 1970 and 1988, the
achievement gap between African American and white students was cut in half, and the gap
separating Latinos and whites declined by one third. That progress came to a halt around 1988,
however, and since that time, the gaps have widened (6). As a result, people are doing studies and
have come up with several theories that exist on how to address the achievement gap. These ideas
have been categorized below to establish the issue to show causes... Show more content on

In Race and the Achievement Gap , he uses a study from the Roy Wilkins Center for Human
Relations to show that African Americans were 4.5 times less likely to be found in schools
ranked low in math and reading (Berlak 2). He claims due to those statistics that students of
color are not opted to have the gifted and talented school programs, which affects both the test
score gap and the gap in academic performance (Berlak 2). Amy L. Wax, Professor of Law for
The University of Virginia School of Law, on the other hand, shows a different cause in failure.
She does not share the same views with Steele or Berlak. In her article, The Threat in the Air ,
she states, We resist confronting the social and behavioral causes of short falls in academic
performance. Stark differences between groups in marriage rates, family stability, paternal
involvement, parenting practices and discipline, and other habits and values, are associated with
children s disparate academic success. (Wax 2). Wax also uses the idea that causes for failures are
emotional , rather than undeveloped learning (Wax 2). Even though Steele, Berlak, and Wax have
touched on the causes, there are consequences that always follow. Consequences for Students Why

Chris Hadfield was born in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, on August 29, 1959. He was raised on a
corn farm in southern Ontario. In his childhood, Hadfield always had the vision of becoming an
astronaut. At age 15, he won a glider pilot scholarship and a powered pilot scholarship at age 16.
Hadfield joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1978. From 1984 1985, he trained as a fighter
pilot in Cold Lake, Alberta on CF 5s and CF 18s. In 1992, Chris was chosen to become one of
four new Canadian astronauts out of 5330 applicants. In fact, since 1992, he has been a crucial

Ecological Imperialism In Sea Of Poppies By Amitav Ghosh
Amitav Ghosh in Sea of Poppies published in 2008 looks back at the colonial period to show the
social, cultural, economic and ecological devastation done by European intervention in South Asia.
Ghosh states that the impelling policies of colonial powers alter the landscapes of the annexed
bioregions and economically plunder the communities. The research paper focuses on Ghosh s
concern over the commodification of nature at the hands of British colonialists. Sea of Poppies is
an account of the imposed opium monoculture in Bihar and Calcutta for the Chinese market
responsible for the enormous wealth of Britain. As such it is made clear in the paper that colonizers
have always imported and introduced cash crops in the annexed terrains by exterminating... Show

It throws light on the status quo of agriculture in India and emphasizes the environmental
injustice caused to the land and to the people. Though unwilling, people are forced to adapt this
new crop culture as Britishers would go from home to home, forcing cash advances on the
farmers and their forged thumbprint. The farmers are unwilling but bound to such contracts
because if they refuse, the British soldiers would hide the silver in their houses to prove them
culprits and make them convicts to be transported beyond the seas as indentured servants. In
addition, their refusal to oblige leads to forfeiture of their properties. The novel provides a vivid
picture of the exploited farming class. Deeti maintains that earlier they lived in harmony with
nature. She yearns for useful crops like wheat, dal and vegetables. These gestures of Deeti show
a happy and symbiotic environment of the earlier times. She is aware of the curse posed by
monoculture. According to her, during winters, fields used to be covered with wheat and after
the spring harvest; the straw would be used for different purposes like fixing the hut roofs. She
realizes that it has been seven years since roof of her hut was last hatched. She does not have
money to buy a handful of straw. The Britishers have left the natives handicapped by raising the
price of small accessories like straw. Being

Temperature Of A Frog Lab Report
Effects of Temperature on a Frog
INTRODUCTION:
Amphibians are cold blooded animals that adapt to the surrounding temperatures. Frogs are one
kind of amphibian. Frogs are cold blooded. Cold blooded animals are more active in warmer
temperatures and stagnant when it is cold. A frogs system is always moving, but depending on the
temperature it is exposed to, its breaths aren t always clearly visible or at a constant rate. A frog s
skin is able to take in oxygen in exchange for carbon dioxide, so all of a frog s breathing isn t
done through its lungs. Water is a compound made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen
atom. Molecules in warmer water move around at a faster speed than molecules in colder water.
The problem to be solved is what the effect of different water temperatures have on a frog s
breathing rate.
HYPOTHESIS:
If a frog is put in 30в„ѓ water, then the frog will have a higher breathing rate than the control frog.
MATERIALS:
400 mL Beaker (2)Frog PencilWatch/Clock

The data from the chart and graph show a drop in the number of breaths when the temperature
drops. The frog had an average breathing rate of 104 breaths per minute when it was put in the
highest temperature tested (30в„ѓ). Once the frog was placed in 10в„ѓ, it had an average breathing
rate of zero breaths per minute. The frog took more breaths in the warm water. Since the frog is
cold blooded, its body temperature changes depending on the environment. Because molecules
move quickly in warmer water, the frog s respiratory system circulates faster. Molecules moving
slower in colder water do not allow the frog to take in as much oxygen as often. Therefore, a
warmer temperature makes a frog s breathing rate per minute increase while a colder temperature
makes it

Jewish Identity In Ancient World Summary
On March 7, Dr. Lawrence Wills presented a lecture entitled The Origin of the Jewish Identity in
Ancient World . The purpose of this lecture was to identify where the terms Jew and Judaism
came from. In his lecture, Dr. Wills also spoke on how the same term could be used as an insult
or as appreciation. However, in order to understand Dr. Lawrence Wills lecture, one must look at
the historical aspect of it first, especially if they are not familiar with the history. In order to
understand the origin of the Jewish Identity, it is important to look at the history behind the term.
In the fourth century BCE, Alexander the Great conquered Jerusalem. One of the provinces in
Jerusalem was called Yehud, the region was soon referred to as loudaia and the inhabitants were
referred to as loudaioi. Respectively, loudaia and loudaioi translate to Judea and Judeans. The
inhabitants were referred as such because of the tendency to name inhabitants after the area in
which they lived; for example, Egyptians live in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The term became further complicate when Hasmonean kings conquered Samaria, Galilee, and
Idumea and imposed their law on the nations that they conquered. As a consequence, those with
no history of Judean rule became loudaioi. As a result of this new conquest, those that were now
loudaioi were still different from the original loudaios because they were original a part of a
different ethnic group. This also caused conflict when Herod the Great first came to rule; he was
the descendent of Idumeans, so there was much dispute of whether or not he was actually loudaioi.
The second source of confusion happened when people converted. The question of who was
loudaioi and who was not was a tricky topic. This varied between every new case and it depended
on those in question. Conversion was significant because it contributed to the translation of loudaioi

The Name Of The Rose
The book, The Name of The Rose, transpires in a medieval abbey located between Pomposa and
Conques, around 1327, in which strange events befall on the monks which appear to mysteriously
correlate to the Book of Revelation (Loc 111). The author of the book, Umberto Eco, employs
medieval theology to portray philosophical ideas, such as the postmodern concept which theorizes
that all text relates to one another. Through the application of architectural imagery, the illustrative
characteristics of animals, the application of numerology, latin quotation and erroneous
interpretation of scripture, Eco composed a masterpiece that loosely parallels events and language
located within the Book of Revelation. Utilizing the circumstances of the period, the author hints at
the harmful nature of futuristic exegesis of biblical narrative, especially with a focus on the
apocalyptic text of the Book of Revelation. Apocalyptic literature, often ornamented with intricate
visions, symbolism and numerology, is a classification of cataclysmic Jewish writings which
incorporate impressions of heaven along with revelations. Through the depiction of the
conflagration of the abbey, elegant symbolism and extravagant visions within, The Name of the
Rose exhibits idiosyncrasies of the apocalyptic genre. The Book of Revelation, which contains a
profuse amount of homogenous attributes to The Name of the Rose, is also suitable to the
apocalyptic labelling. Due to the vastness of allusions between the two

Disadvantages Of Union City
Union City, Pennsylvania is where I have lived my entire life. It is a great, small, friendly town,
depending on who you ask. Over the span of my lifetime, I have heard comments that vary about
the residents overall satisfaction with Union City. To me, it is about neutral because the several
advantages and disadvantages are nearly equal in my eyes. However, depending on your home life,
social status, and personal liking, Union Citymay or may not be the town for you. Over the years, I
become more thankful for my hometown because of the low crime rate unlike many other cities.
Union City, previously known as Miles Mills ( History of Union City, PA ), was discovered by
David Watts and William Mills in the year 1785 ( History... ). At one time, Union City, was
considered The Chair Center of the World due to all the sawmills and chair factories within the
city ( History... ). But sadly, now the town is only referred to as Incest City or Union Shitty, which
is offensive to the citizens of the town. The sawmills and chair factories in the earlier centuries,
currently are not functioning or have burned down in recent years, including the Ethan Allen
building which burned down during my lifetime in 2010. The history of Union City may not be as
exciting compared to larger cities, but it means so much to the residents or ancestors of people
from here. The town of Union City is a very small, friendly, tight knit community. As a citizen, me
nor my family have never had any

Safe Space
Due to increased diversity on College campuses, colleges are changing and developing new ways
to become more inclusive in order to create environments where a mix of student cultures,
ethnicities, races, socioeconomic statuses and genders can feel comfortable sharing the same
campus space. One way to help create this environment is through using trigger warnings
(warnings before content to help alert students who may have suffered from trauma in an event
like war to avoid content that might bring back recurring panic attacks or flashbacks) and through
creating Safe Spaces . Safe spaces is a term for an area or forum where either a marginalized group

Safe spaces only prolongs the inevitable, which is facing the problem causing students
discomfort. If students do not face their issues and continue to use safe spaces as a means to
retreat then they are more acceptable to anxiety and the cognitive distortions caused by it. The
use of trigger warnings will help to identify uncomfortable material. While Raising awareness
will help with the understanding of the overall issue of free. The internet is a vast world of
information ready to be explored, Forums and social networks make it easy to connect with
people who might be going through the same problems. Students can also use these as a means
to share thoughts and feeling. Lastly counseling would fill in the gap in where there can be
empathy for those who need it. Usually concolors have an office, students and go into their off
with agreement that what is said there will not be shared with anyone. Which I believe already
works a safe space. Overall the use for safe space would become no more and students will have a
great role in being responsible for their emotional health. They would not old know how to feel
confident but they ll also become educated on their

My Life Change Essay
Your life can change so much in such little time. It can change in either a good way or a bad way.
For me personally it changed in a great way. So many aspects of my life have changed in the past
year. One of the aspects that changed was my education. I used to go to Miami Dade college but
was not that passionate about my major, so i would go to classes really late or not even show up at
all. I was kinda lost and i picked a major that i really didnt wanna do. Now ive picked a major that
im really excited. I enrolled into Keiser University and im doing really good in school right now.
Another way my life changed i met the girl of my dreams. I am really in love with her and she
makes my life so much better. Ive never had so much fun with someone but she makes me the
happiest. The last thing that has changed in my life was my job. I used to work at a resteraunt
where i only got paid $8.50 and i did so much work compared to the job now that i make $9.50 and
dont do as much work. I also enjoy it much more. My life is the greatest it has ever been.
Education i think is one of the most important things someone can get. Without education in this
world i feel like it is really hard to get a good paying job. My life before i would barely wanna go to
school because i hated the education and the major i picked. I only went to school because of my
mom. I only worked because i would rather make money. One day it hit me i didnt wanna work at
a restaurent my whole life. So thats when i

Essay on Ibm Eclipse Case Study
1. Why was the creation of an independent IBM software group [SWG] strategically important?
Note: this discussion should include some view of hardware as well. The creation of an
independent IBM software group (SWG) was strategically important for the following reasons: a)
A category of software named middleware was emerging in the mid 90s. At this point SWG
abetted IBM to emerge in the middleware market. b) SWG was also strategically important for
IBM to help focus its software activities and prepare for a new age in distributed networked

Very soon java became popular in the software community, which resulted in more and more
companies building their line of products in Java. Though Java quickly gained momentum, it
raised new business and technical issues. On the business side, java weakened the stronghold of
other application development tools, especially Microsoft s Visual Studio. Also, market was
becoming fragmented with the introduction of many similar java development tools, thus
increasing the development costs for the ISVs trying to develop complements for java products.
There were two issues created by Java on the technical side. First, Java provided Swing, its own
graphic environment to provide consistent look and feel across multiple OSs which resulted in
customers losing familiarity with their native OS. Second, Java s Swing implemented their own
set of graphic libraries adding computing overhead, making Java applications slower than those
applications which directly used native operating system s graphic libraries. 4. Is a single platform
a utopia, a nightmare, or something in between? To develop your answer, think of this from the
various points of view [POVs] of different IBM organizations and managers. Single platform across
all IBM tools would be a utopia, but creating the platform by overcoming all the internal opposition
at IBM and convincing the existing product

The person who made them was a guy named Levi Strauss, but he didn t intend on making them he wanted to make tents and wagon covers. He made pants that were made for working into a style forever. Man, that is a lot right who knows. Levi Sounds familiar right I mean it should. Levi was original from new york and traveled to California to get rich. He wanted to make wagon covers and tents for the miners but no one was in the market for them. Then he made a type of pants that could withstand the mines. • 3. Neolithic Revolution Or Agricultural Revolution Molly FitzPatrick Parolin, 7th hour AP World History September 15, 2017 Neolithic Government Around 12,000 years ago the Neolithic or Agricultural Revolution began. This period started after the end of the last ice age. The Neolithic Revolution brought the first organized government. The Neolithic Revolution made government essential because there was a need to organize the more expansive population, large construction projects, and trade with other Neolithic Villages. During the Neolithic Revolution not only did the amount of surplus food grow, but so did the population creating a need for organization from a leader or some sort of government. According to scholars, the world s population 10,000 years ago was a microscopic 6 million people. By comparison there are 6 billion people estimated on Earth today. The population then grew to about 50 million people by 5,000 years ago. What took place during those 5,000 years? The agricultural revolution began just about 12,000 years ago or 10,000 B.C.E. During that time the last ice age ended, creating a more stable environment for growing crops and domesticating animals. The domestication of plants and animals created a surplus of food compared to the amount of food in gathering and hunting societies. An abundance of food allowed more people to live in each village. An example of population growth in a Neolithic Village is the early agricultural settlement of Jericho located in present day Israel. Jericho was uncovered by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. I Believe Webb Was A Transformational Leader Essay Throughout history, there have been various amounts of leaders and leadership styles. There have also been instances in American history where capable and influential leaders have been crucial to the formation of our nation. A very inspiring and motivating leader in American history is Alexander S. Webb. I believe that Webb was a transformational leader. Born on February 15th, 1853, in NYC, New York, Webb was raised in a house with military leaders. Attending the United States Military Academy in 1855, he continued his service until the yeah 1870 with many different accomplishments and goals met. He received recognition from men who have shaped the country today and made differences in the way men were led during combat. Throughout his military career, I believe Webb established a transformational leadershipstyle. I also would like to obtain the sane leadership qualities he possessed and be able to apply them to my own career. Alexander S Webb, Brevet Major General Webb in the Army, is a leader worth looking up to and following. To begin with, Webb ranked 13 out of 34 when he graduated from the United States Military Academy. He had an excellent militarily lineage to look up to as well. Both his father and grandfather were active members in the Army. At the outbreak of the Civil War, Webb began to show all his leadership styles in front of many high ranks on different occasions. Through time, he gained the trust of higher ranks with his qualities and was promoted quickly. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. What Role Did Women Play In The American Industrial... As the American Industrial Revolution began in the first half of the 19th century, girls as young as five left their farm homes to find work, personal independence and adventure. There were good jobs in New England mills. The mill girls of Lowell, MA, became an integral part of the social and economic changes underway. They helped shape mill rules, protested actively for fair wages, improved working conditions and secured shorter hours. They helped establish women s employment possibilities. Their actions during this time established a strong legacy and serve as a guide for today s labor disputes. By creating a strong legacy that included securing equitable rights and opportunities for women workers, the Lowell mill girls were an important... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Work hours were long (generally 70 or more hours each week). The workplace was hot and dirty ( Lowell Mill Girls ). Work was hard, tedious and sometimes dangerous. There were reports of falls, metal object projectiles striking workers, parts of hands damaged or lost in machinery and bales of cotton falling on workers ( The Mill Girls; Alexaraeburk; McCabe 70). Living conditions were generally considered tolerable (Wright 11) and offered a certain degree of normalcy, a sense of community and gender solidarity (Alexaraeburk). Wages for women were considered very good for this time in U.S. history. Unfortunately, their $1.75 to $3 each week was about half of the rate men in the mill received (McCabe 36). Despite these circumstances, visiting dignitaries admired the paternalism mill owners showed to the mill girls and also the quality of the Mill Girls work and diligence trying to improve their position and prospects in life. British visitors were surprised to see the majority of the workers were women and their personal appearance and demeanor were so much better than the girls working in English factories. Interestingly, the visitors generally observed the Lowell mill girls were so infinitely superior as to make a stranger immediately perceive that some very large cause must have created the difference. The visitors admired the environment and attitude of both workers and owners who, in their judgment, were pursuing higher goals ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For example, for TPI do you maintain that the 5 minutes starts at the start of the procedure? Acupuncture and MFR are generally reliable segments, but TPI is the definitely the trickiest one. Do you think using the recorded time the physician reports as a pivot point would suffice given they only report one time? For example, grabbing five minutes immediately before the reported time and 5 minutes immediately after? 3 When there is a discrepancy between noted time and an abrupt change in RR interval, is the RR interval used at your discretion? Given that physicians may report the time of the treatment, that in reality aligns with the time when the patient is moving during the initial intervention, I try to correct for that by choosing segments that are consistent after the abrupt RR change and report that as the Kubios Time on the excel. Should I keep that as a rule? The Timesheet time and Kubios time may be misaligned however, when I tried to report the timesheet time for some of the encounters the data was messy. ... But whereas impressionist painters concentrated on the depiction of a subject s immediate appearance, postimpressionists focused on emotional or spiritual meanings that the subject might convey. The symbolist movement, a literary movement that stressed the expression of the artist s inner vision as the purpose of art, influenced both artists, along with Van Gogh s friend Paul Gauguin. While in Paris in 1886, Vincent van Gogh experimented briefly with neoimpressionism, but found its techniques too restrictive. Instead, he used broader brush strokes and incorporated large zones of single colors into his compositions. A former preacher, van Gogh gave his paintings a spiritual charge through technique, subject matter, and color. • 33. The Roaring Twenties By F. Scott Fitzgerald The Roaring Twenties were a time of leisure and parties. The media and events surrounding this time period greatly impacted the carefree, extravagant lifestyle. This era was one of the most dramatic and energetic times in American history. To many, the symbols of the roaring Twenties were F. Scott Fitzgerald and his wife, due to their tales of the young and the wealthy (Hanson 96). The Roaring Twentiesinfluenced many literary works, throughout the 1920s such as F. Scott Fitzgeralds The Great Gatsbyand This Side of Paradise. At the start of the 1920s, prohibition had just begun, banning the purchase, sale, and manufacture of alcohol. This actually had adverse effects as people began to make their own alcohol and sell it illegally (Hanson 96). World War I had also recently ended, and soldiers were coming home to a recession in the U.S. The end of the war meant a drop in government spending and exports. Business bankruptcies tripled between 1919 and 1920. Many businesses were forced to cut wages and lay off workers (McDonnell 296). As the 1920 recession came to an end, Americans had more leisure time and money to spare (353). By 1922 the economy had fully rebounded and there was even a shortage of workers (319). World War I fueled the fire of American s suspicions of foreigners (McDonnell 296). The Red Scare had Americans paralyzed by the fear of a possible communist infiltration (301). How Have New Emphases And Interpretative Lenses Is History How have new emphases and interpretative lenses emphasizing history from below affected the more traditional subfields of political, military, diplomatic, and sectional history and how do they affect world history. During the past century these four subfields have evolved within themselves to rise from their traditional methodologies of study to incorporating social and cultural historiography to better analyze their subject matter; while turning from an inner study, as it applies to the United States, towards a more world view. The authors of this week s reading project s a theme or commonality that has affected their subfield from the turn of the century until now. They all mention Frederick Jackson Turner s reading of his famous paper, The Significance of the Frontier in American History, where he argued that frontier settlement, and not institutional and spiritual inheritance from the Old World, accounted for the origins and peculiar development of American democracy. This was the first time interpretations of social and cultural were utilized in the studies of particular subfields that started the Progressive era that lasted until the start of World War II. Introduction Energy efficiency of vehicles have become one of the most fundamental issue for modern trade, business life and environment. Even though the zero emission systems hast still progress, it is plausible to enlarge the fuel efficient vehicles with application of quality assurance practices. The idea behind this is particularly true for the companies which is related to transportation, where even small difference can save considerable amount of money. Moreover, in the fuel economy website, it is mentioned that the fuel economy predicts the fuel economy tags and to calculate a producer s corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) is received from car when the testing is done at EPA s National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory in Ann Arbor which is in Michigan, and by whole car producers who sent their own data to EPA. Every year, EPA supplies car efficiency data to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Department of Energy (DOE) with this way they can manage their car efficiency which is associated with programs. Therefore the Germans assume an arrogant attitude towards the Russians. While the Frenchmen who go to Russia bring their stereotypical view of Russia along with them and see everything through the lens of their preformed stereotypes, like how Russian culture is replaced by the invading new western culture. Frogs are one kind of amphibian. Frogs are cold blooded. Cold blooded animals are more active in warmer temperatures and stagnant when it is cold. A frogs system is always moving, but depending on the temperature it is exposed to, its breaths aren t always clearly visible or at a constant rate. A frog s skin is able to take in oxygen in exchange for carbon dioxide, so all of a frog s breathing isn t done through its lungs. The Name Of The Rose The book, The Name of The Rose, transpires in a medieval abbey located between Pomposa and Conques, around 1327, in which strange events befall on the monks which appear to mysteriously correlate to the Book of Revelation (Loc 111). The author of the book, Umberto Eco, employs medieval theology to portray philosophical ideas, such as the postmodern concept which theorizes that all text relates to one another. Through the application of architectural imagery, the illustrative characteristics of animals, the application of numerology, latin quotation and erroneous interpretation of scripture, Eco composed a masterpiece that loosely parallels events and language located within the Book of Revelation. Utilizing the circumstances of the period, the author hints at the harmful nature of futuristic exegesis of biblical narrative, especially with a focus on the apocalyptic text of the Book of Revelation. Apocalyptic literature, often ornamented with intricate visions, symbolism and numerology, is a classification of cataclysmic Jewish writings which incorporate impressions of heaven along with revelations. Second, Java s Swing implemented their own set of graphic libraries adding computing overhead, making Java applications slower than those applications which directly used native operating system s graphic libraries. 4.
