Essential learning activities are mandatory and must be
complete by every student to pass the subject
Discretionary learning activities recognise the individual
learner and available for use at the discretion of the user
and created so every student can be challenged
As the year progresses you will be given more and more
discretionary power and ultimately take control of your
learning

This means that anytime you may be required to show your pre-

Not having your book/computer etc is NOT an excuse and it will be
assumed you have not completed the work

  • 4. Pre-lesson work You will be required to: • Read a few pages of the text and or • Watch a short podcast • Write questions or comments on the wiki in comments section for each lesson The pre-lesson work gives you the foundation knowledge to succeed in every lesson
  • 5. Writing questions or comments on the wiki PUT THE COMMENT OR QUESTION ON THE LESSON IT IS RELATED TO ON THE WIKI SO EVERYONE CAN BENEFIT FROM THE ANSWER! Here
  • 6. Pre-lesson Work All sections of the pre-lesson work MUST be completed before the lesson. Only EXTRAORDINARY REASONS will be accepted. If you are having problems with pre-lesson work ASK for HELP.
  • 7. Essential Learning Activities and DiscretionaryLearning Activities Essential learning activities are mandatory and must be complete by every student to pass the subject Discretionary learning activities recognise the individual learner and available for use at the discretion of the user and created so every student can be challenged As the year progresses you will be given more and more discretionary power and ultimately take control of your learning
  • 8. Random Checks This means that anytime you may be required to show your pre- lesson work, essential and Discretionary learning activities ! Because of this is it crucial that you always have your pre-lesson work and learning activities readily available for checking ! Not having your book/computer etc is NOT an excuse and it will be assumed you have not completed the work If you are absent you will be required to present the required work in your own time. DO NOT wait for the teacher to ask.
