DEFINITION
• Combination of three words Human , Resource and
Management
• According to Edwin B. Flippo, Human resource management is
the Planning, Organizing, Directing and Controlling of the
procurement, development, compensation, Integration,
Maintenance and Separation of human resources to the end
that individual, Organizational and societal objectives are
accomplished.
Responsibilities of HR
• Job Analysis: detail information about jobs
job Description(designation and location)
job specification(skills and knowledge)
• HR planning: optimum use of current Human resources, people
required, formulate transfer and promotion policies

• RECRUITMENT : process of searching candidate for employment &
stimulating them to apply for jobs in organization.
INTERNAL(promote candidate)External(advertisment), campus
• SELECTION: employment test and interviews, selection or rejection.
• TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT: Teaching basic job skills ,developing
new skills. eg training in multiple languages for company grow in
international market .
• PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL: Performance
appraisal is the rating of an employee‘s excellence
to his present job and his potential for a better job.
Techniques used for evaluating employee
performance. Ranking Method ,Grading Method

• REMUNERATION & BENEFITS: depend on skills of person i-e high
skills , high education high salary
• WELFARE & INDUSTRIAL RELATION: Employee may have personal

prevent accidents, namely, engineering, education and
enforcement of safety rules.

, certification ,salary and promotion of employee.
