The Central Diesel Locomotive Workshop in Rawalpindi overhauls diesel electric locomotives for Pakistan Railways. It was established in 1965 with an initial cost of Rs. 35 million and is spread over 25 acres. The workshop aims to overhaul 8 locomotives per month and has a budget of Rs. 1487.92 million for 2014-15. It has various shops that recondition parts like engines, trucks, wheels, traction motors and more.
