Unit: The Human Body Class:8thF (Évora, Portugal) / Level: Lower Secondary Subjects: Art and English Teachers: Maria João Machado and Susana Parente Number of lessons: 1 Title – Storytelling and drawing-creating human figures Competences: - identifying parts of the body; - listening comprehension of two physical descriptions; - using drawing techniques to illustrate two human figures according to a given description. Content Language/Terminology (words and phrases) Main target knowledge - Vocabulary related to the human body - Colours - physical features - clothes “ He / she is tall and slim” “ He/ she has got big almond shaped blue eyes.” “He/she is wearing a white shirt and light blue jeans.” Parts of the Human Body; physical description; Graphic representation using drawing material. Process Activities / Tasks Types of interaction Listening to a story of a robbery at the museum. There were two eye witnesses and we need to find them. In this context, students listen to the physical description of a boy and a girl. Sticking the physical features of both boy and girl on the wall. Whole class Teacher / students Student / student
