Current State Of US Economy
Current state of US economy and effect of business in Ohio. The American economy has suffered the
deepest and most protracted recession since the Great Depression. The financial crisis that began in
the fall of 2008 had enduring effects on economic performance. In the first quarter of 2009, real gross
domestic product (real GDP) fell by 6.4 percent. Real GDP fell for four straight quarters, from third
quarter 2008 through second quarter 2009. The good news is that we have enjoyed more than three
years of uninterrupted economic growth (Real GDP) and falling unemployment since the recession
ended in June 2009. Economic growth (real GDP) has averaged less than 2.1% since the recovery

Jim Carrey Analysis
The purpose of art is to bring people into presence Jim Carrey .The particular artist that I chose is an
artist in many different realms though he is an accomplished actor he also is a painter and has painted
for most of his life it was not until recently that his art work has been showcased. That artist that I am
talking about is Jim Carrey. I feel that his artwork shows emotional depth has an interesting color
schemes and really lets us go into his mind through the use of his art.
The artwork that I have seen of Carrey s is emotional I understand that art is all about how one
perceives their art and it can mean many things to many different people. For instance, when I look at
his work I can see the emotion that he was trying to convey in the type of brush work that his painting
has. I also understand that I could have chosen another artist that is more skillful or has been in the art
world longer but with that being said that is why art is amazing it does not judge. Art has its own
universal language. When I look at his paintings I can see and almost feel the work and feeling that
goes into his work. When I look at it I feel the emotional depth. For example, he has this painting of
Jesus Christ and it makes you wonder about everything our whole existence is based off of but like I
said that is just my viewpoint.
Another thing I have noticed about his artwork is that he uses a lot of interesting colors that pop out at
you that demand attention. In a lot of his paintings

Draft Lottery Case Study
In an attempt to combat teams in manipulating the draft lottery, National Basketball Association
(NBA) league commissioner, Adam Silver, along with the NBA board of governors approved the
lottery reform proposal which seeks to lessen the top 3 worst teams chances of winning the number
one overall pick in the draft and lessen chance for other teams as well. The proposal was approved on
September 28, 2017, but will be implemented for the 2019 draft lottery. Tank you for nothing With the
many issues surfacing the league, Silver tried to tackle one thing. With the current draft lottery
process, the team with the lowest standing has a 25% chance to land the number one pick while

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Filipinos
Nowadays, lots of Filipino people choose to work abroad. Some are in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Qatar,
and other foreign countries. But the question is, why they choose to work abroad than staying in their
own country? There are 11 main reasons why several Filipinos choose to work abroad, these 11
reasons was made by Fritz Natividad on November 19, 2012. Other sources like books, magazines,
newspapers and lots of sites in the internet have different numbers of reason. Due to lots of reasons,
only 4 reasons are common. This are Salary, Pressure from family and peer influence, Self interest and
lastly only opportunity to travel and experience abroad. In addition, working abroad has its advantages
and disadvantages. Thesis statement Filipino workers endure being away from their families most of
the time because they need to work abroad than to work locally and see their families struggling to a

Proto Pump Inhibitors Essay
Description/Synopsis: Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are used for the treatment of gastroesophageal
reflux disease (GERD) and Laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) due to their potential to inhibit gastric
acid production. Unfortunately, high doses of PPIs are associated with adverse health outcomes. The
use of PPIs has been shown to affect the absorption of minerals and vitamin like calcium, iron and
vitamin B12. Not only the risk of other severe conditions like hyperparathyroidism, diarrhea and
pneumonia increases upon the long term use of PPIs but the negative effects also extend to coronary
heart disease and atherosclerotic diseases. PPIs reduce the efficacy of the drug clopidogrel which
inhibits platelet activation thereby contributing to coronary heart disease and myocardial ... Show

It is further reported to induce atrophic gastritis which can ultimately lead to gastric carcinoma.
Results of study: PPIs are generally considered safe, but initial studies reported that the short term use
of this drug (8 months) was associated with adverse effects like vomiting/nausea, dizziness, headache,
and hypersensitivity reaction. On the basis of these observations, thereafter, several studies unraveled
potential long term effects of PPI therapy. The studies reveal that upon intake of PPIs calcium
absorption efficiency decreases by 41% in elderly women. It is shown that odds ratio for hip fracture
increase with the intake of PPIs over subsequent years from 1.22 at one year, 1.41 at two years, 1.54 at
three years to 1.59 at four years. A significant difference in the value was seen between men and
women and the odds ratio was analyzed to be 1.78 vs 1.36, respectively. A study further showed the
increment in the odds ratio to 1.62 and 1.92 respectively upon the use of PPIs for 5 and 7 years,
respectively. The OR for Vitamin B12 deficiency associated with the use of PPIs for above a year was

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Epilepsy
Business Understanding
According to World Health Organisation (2017), around 50 million people worldwide have epilepsy.
Unfortunately, epilepsy cannot be cured, but could be controlled by pharmacological or electrical
treatment based on seizure prediction (Moghim Corne, 2014). Since EEG has advantages such as
speed, high time resolution and non invasive natures, it maintains one of the most frequently used
tools in predicting epilepsy (Hasan et al. 2017).
Electroencephalography (EEG) has a broad use in both medical practices and medical research for
diagnosing and identifying epileptic seizures, syncope (fainting), cognitive psychologies, and
psychophysiological research (Niedermever, 2004). Commonly used in identifying epilepsy, the EEG
helps the doctors to distinguish types of seizures, the reasons to trigger the seizures and also the
treatment needed. Types of EEG are different according to test aims, facilities, medical and patients
situations, and are generally separated into 4 types: Routine EEG, Sleep EEG, Ambulatory EEG and
Video EEG. All of the types would record electrical activities of the brain, investigate their potential
fluctuations and brain waves, and perform analysis to convert the data into useful information in
identifying the seizures. Usually, the EEG test will last for 20 to 40 minutes, and will be conducted by
attaching scalp with the electrodes which are connected to an EEG recording machine (NHS, 2017).
There are three main cases to be solved in this project. First is to identify whether an EEG showing
seizure or not. Second is to identify the 5 categories of EEG. Third is to identify the classification of
EEG, whether it is indicating healthy brain activity, potential epileptic seizure or actual epileptic
seizure.
Data Understanding
The given data set contains fields such as ID, X1 to X178 which represents the 1 second EEG result
and y which represents the EEG type. This data set will be used for model generation. The data set
contains no missing values and distributed nicely with sufficient number of rows for creating models.
In addition, all the field in the data set is essential for the model generation, this implies that all fields
will be used. However, there will be

Airline Industry And Competitive Environment
Introduction:
A major restructuring has been taken by the Qantas in 2013. On 31st March 2013 it was seen that two
Airbus 380 flights flew over Sydney Harbour in order to mark the alliance between the Emirates and
Qantas. It is known that Qantas is an Australian icon and it has been present in the country since
1920s. Qantas is the flag carrier airline which nicknamed as The Flying kangaroo . The airline is based
in Sydney and it has a market share of 65% in the domestic market of Australia. It carries nearly
18.7% of all the passengers travelling inward and outwards from Australia (Australian Business
Traveller, 2012). Qantas play a big role in tourism market and economic growth in populations
seeking to travel.

Rivalry cause Qantas to lose millions of dollars in many different forms, for instant cost of advertising
campaigns, invention of new product, cutting of discount and services perfection (Porter (2007, p. 8)
Internal environment strategy
In recent years Qantas is going through a significant transformation plan. It is known that in present
scenario the global market is changing significantly and thus it has been critical for various business
units to understand the need of change in present organisational structure (Centreforaviation.com,
2014). There are various strategies that need to be implemented by a business unit in order to be
competent in the industry. It was evident that the global forces had imposed various challenges for
Qantas and as the prices of oil increased significantly, it also affected the Australian dollars. A
profound impact of globalisation was seen on Qantas competitive situation and thus they had to
implement various strategies in order to restore the competitive position of the organisation (Freed,
2014).
Thus Qantas took the initiative to turn a loss making company into one of the global aviation company
of the world with a tremendous competitive advantage by doing a strategic alliance with the Emirates
(Gazzar, 2014). Qantas has taken various strategies to make sure that they remain cost effective in the
market in long run and in 2011 they announced a five year transformation

First, the traditional college experience versus an online college experience. Next, the quality of the

How Does Darcy Present Elizabeth Bennet s Marriage
First, The most significant marriage of the novel depicts the ideal vision of the bride Elizabeth Bennet.
Her ideal vision of what a marriage should be was one where the bride and groom had true love for
each other, as well as a mutual respect, and a intellectual connection that far surpassed a physical one.
Elizabeth had no social status or assets. This was an obstacle that Darcy had to overcome throughout
the book. He was constantly influenced by his family and those around him of equal or similar social
status that he should marry someone with some sort of power. However Elizabeth had to overcome her
prejudice towards the upper class, and understand Darcy for who he really was herself. Instead of
listening to and believing others opinions and gossip. This marriage clearly fits the description of its
bride s ideal marriage.
Next, George and Lydia s marriage was used to save Lydia and the Bennet family reputation. When
Lydia and George run away out of wedlock this potentially ruins the other Bennet sisters chance at
marrying into the upper class. Mrs. Bennet then manipulates the marriage although George is in severe

A Stupid Story
Today, I am going to tell you a very stupid story, a story as stupid as it is similar to the fairy tale The
Emperor s New Clothes . It starts on a gray, windy, and sad October morning where the sky still looks
full of grumbling, unhappy, gray clouds even though it s been raining for a week. At this palace called
Amalienborg palace where there are four buildings in an octagon shape in the capital of Denmark,
Copenhagen, where nothing exciting ever happens. As if the day didn t already look sad enough, my
favourite chocolate sauce just had to run out today without the knowledge of the head chef until it was
too late. At which point I threw a tantrum at him for 20 minutes. And then another one after breakfast
when the house I tried to build out of waffles fell down, which happens every morning. After feeling
satisfied by letting out some anger, I then slowly dragged myself away from the humongous dining
room now littered with messy plates, waffles without their golden brown crusts, an empty vanilla ice
cream container, and other half eaten food. It was time to go to my office to put my signature on pages
of paper filled with words that the prime minister told me I have to agree to in order for them to pass .
The building that contained my office was in another building across the square from the one I was in.
While I was walking on the cobblestone I almost tripped on the same stone as I did yesterday.
Blwaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh I screamed but caught my balance

Fear From The Town In A Rose For Emily
Alive, Miss Emily had been a tradition, a duty, and a care; a sort of hereditary obligation upon the
town, dating from that day in 1894 when Colonel Sartoris (Faulkner I). Emily abandoned with no

There are a few reasons why Emily gets the negative attention from the town. First, Emily s snobbish
persona intimidates and scare away any town folks because she lacks affection from love ones and
human interaction. The town is afraid of disturbing Emily because from a pungent smell that lingered
her home, Dammit, sir, Judge Stevens said, will you accuse a lady to her face of smelling bad?

This passage foreshadows the future of Emily s lover Homer dead. Second, Emily ask the druggist to

s going to use it for. When an individual is feared they tend to get what they want. Therefore, the town
folks exclaimed, We all said, She will kill herself ; and we said it would be the best thing (Faulkner

him to stay by poisoning him and his body detailed as, The body had apparently once lain in the
attitude of an embrace, but now the long sleep that outlasts love, that conquers even the grimace of
love, had cuckolded him (Faulkner V). The passage shows symptoms of being emotionally unstable

Perceptual Disorders That Can Disrupt Visual Perception
In the following essay an attempt will be made to look at the different perceptual disorders that can
disrupt visual perception. Efforts will be made to compare (which by definition is the pointing out of
differences and similarities) and it will also attempt to contrast (by pointing out the differences) in a
logical and factual way. To do this, it is important to first define what is (a) meant by Visual perception
and what it is thought to (B)encompass, and the (c) different perceptual disorders that may
consequently lead to a disruption in this visual perception. The following account will culminate in a
factual recording of the effect these disorders may have on the individual and the resulting disruptions
that may occur within visual perception.
(A) Explained as simplistically as possible, Visual perception itself is the ability to interpret one s
surrounding environment by, processing information through the eye to the brain. The eye is a sense
organ which is part of the sensory system which in turn transmits information about one s
environment to the brain.
(B) The eye sees its environment by using light, at first the image of one s environment is perceived as
upside down but their eye changes this image to the correct way around; this process is called
Reception. The image is then transformed from electromagnetic energy to electrochemical energy; this
process is called Transduction. At this point the energy is transmitted along the individual s optic

The Use Of Characters In Dubliners By James Joyce
A Motif is a recurring structure, contrast, or literary device. An epiphany is a sudden realization of the
meaning of something. The characters in the short stories of Dubliners , by James Joyce, undergo
great and small epiphanies. These epiphanies aren t the sudden realization of new experiences and
possibilities for reform, but instead they give the characters a better understanding of their
circumstances. In Araby and The Dead the endings conclude with epiphanies that the characters fully
comprehend, yet these epiphanies are touched with frustration, sadness, and regret. In the short story
Araby the narrator is an unnamed boy who has an infatuation with a girl known as Mangan s sister.
The narrator makes a promise to buy her a present from the bazaar. However at the end of the story, as
the narrator is in the bazaar, he approaches the stall and is put off by the salesman s response and tone,
The tone of her voice was not encouraging; she seemed to have spoken to me out of a sense of duty.
Disappointed, he ends up not buying anything at all and leaves. He comes to the conclusion that the
bazaar, that he thought would be so amazing and exciting, is actually just a degraded place to buy
things. He sees that the conversation with Mangan s sister, where he promised to buy her something,
was only small talk and that she is only a girl who wouldn t care whether or not he buys her
something. He leaves upset and discomforted. The epiphany he had changed him from

Satrapi s Dichotomy
Orientalism, is a school of thought based entirely the exploitation of cultural differences between
western and eastern peoples, Satrapi illustrates this strict dichotomy and the distress these differences

complex than political or economic imperialism, Said articulates the peculiar relationship between
Orient and Occident as such, ...the Orient has helped to define Europe (or the West) as its contrasting

though she must pick between modernity and European culture, or tradition and Iranian culture (6

Mccarthy s 4 The Principles Of Persuasion
Relevant Topics: Below are the topics relevant to the project: Branding Marketing: Marketing is the
process of creating, communicating and delivering benefits that have value for customers (Johnston,

Basic Components Of The Us Healthcare Delivery System Essay
Healthcare delivery system main objectives. The main objective of a healthcare delivery system is to
ensure that anyone who needs healthcare receives the best care, at a price they can afford (Barton,
2010, p. 8). The functional components of the US healthcare delivery system. The U.S healthcare
system is large and varied. However, the basic functional components include running the system, the
different branches of the system, how services are rendered, how the services are funded, and
manufacturing of new products (Barton, 2010, p. 6 8). The component of running the system allows
for quality control, making new polices, enforcing said polices, and monitoring the different aspects of
the healthcare delivery system (Barton, 2010, p. 7). The different branches of the healthcare system
allow for people from every level of the finance scale to seek medical care (Barton, 2010, p. 7). The
private market and volunteer organizations are two examples of different branches of the healthcare
system (Barton, 2010, p. 6). Serves are rendered through specialized branches like primary care and
secondary care (Barton, 2010, p. 6). Meaning you go to the specific doctor needed, for example if you
are pregnant seeking prenatal care you see an OBGYN. The system is funded by many different
sources, including the government and private insurance (Barton, 2010, p. 6). The manufacturing of

EUROZONE CRISIS
The Eurozone in 2012
EUROZONE CRISIS: Eurozone fracture in 2012
This paper outlines a plausible scenario in which the Eurozone fractures in 2012. Events are unlikely
to follow the path precisely as described, given the complexity of the problem and the number of
variables which are continually changing. That said, we feel 2012 is unlikely to end with all the
current members still being part of the Eurozone. Mapping a break up scenario should help readers
understand how fragmentation could occur and therefore assist businesses contingency planning. To
this end the paper highlights some key events and when they are due to take place. It also identifies
some key indicators to monitor which are likely to dictate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the second quarter, Italy suspends its debt repayments following the collapse of the Monti
administration and differences with the IMF and other
Eurozone leaders.
The ECB is likely to increase liquidity provision and work with Eurozone governments to protect their
banking sectors. However, Eurozone leaders remain unable to agree crucial policies in time to stem
the contagion from Greek and Italian sovereign non payments. Portugal and Spain, unable to access
emergency bailout funding and with no recourse to private investors, suspend their debt repayments
and also announce their intention to leave the Eurozone.
From early 2013 onwards, politics in Europe becomes more polarised and nationalistic. Those nations
withdrawing from the Eurozone impose protectionist measures, in part to limit the loss of their foreign
reserves. Amidst much acrimony, the EU begins the process of scaling back to a free trade agreement.

Literary Elements In Literature
Throughout history, authors incorporate literary elements to enhance their writing. Literary elements
are used to construct an author s writing to portray one s unique style and to convey the message that
they want to bring to their readers. Literary elements add to a piece of writing in many ways. For
example, an author may voice his or her perspective as expressed through the narrator in a story. The
setting of a story helps the reader visualize the place and time in which the story occurs. At times, an
author may use the literary technique of personification which gives nonhuman objects human
abilities and characterizations. Authors such as Flannery O Connor, James Joyce, and Katherine
Mansfield use several literary techniques to develop their stories and portray their message. These
three authors use irony which contradicts what was inferred by a specific character in the beginning of
the story. At the start of the story the reader and the other characters in the story expect one thing to
occur but as one reaches the end of the story the situation is flipped to be exactly the opposite of what
was expected.
In the story A Good Man is Hard to Find , Flannery O Connor uses the literary device of irony to help
get across what he is trying to convey. In the story the grandmother plans a whole vacation for the
family and ends up sending everyone to be doomed for the worse. The vacation went all wrong. The
grandmother s intention was to plan a family vacation where everyone

How Does George Orwell Use Propaganda In Animal Farm
Animal Farm, by George Orwell, is an allegoric novel based on the history of the Soviet Union and
the Russian Revolution (1917 to 1944) disguised as an animal fable. Orwell draws his audience into a
utopian, metaphorical history novel through his animal characters. Squealer represents intelligence
and education; Napoleon represents propaganda and duplicity; The dogs to represent violence and
terror as a means of control; and finally Boxer represents apathy and acceptance. Throughout each of
the characters stories, there are themes of the Soviet Union intertwined. The pigs represents
intelligence and education, particularly Squealer as he is able to manipulate others and control

The imprudent control used by all the boys in the novel shows how there is inherently evil in all of
man, just shown by how the boys treat one another. William Golding believes that evil comes from
within you and is apart of you, but is suppressed by society. When the Beast or the Lord of the Flies
gets into Simon s head, it says, I am part of you (142). The evil from the beast is speaking to Simon s
heart and mind. Simon s conscience is speaking to and the evil is trying to turn him into a sadistic
aggressive boy just like Jack. It was not society who tried to turn Simon evil, it was the beast who
tried to get into Simon s mind to make him become a savage. Evil is inside everyone yet it is through
society, that evil is shown. Evil can also come from an uncontrolled civilization, just like what the
boys had on the island. The beast was harmless and horrible; and the news must reach the others as
soon as possible (147) here Simon is able to see what the others could not see in the dark. He saw the
truth of the Lord of the Flies, but he wants to share all this information with the boys that the evil is
inside of them. The other boys on the other hand can not see through the dark, which causes Simon s
tragic death. Henery, even being a very young kid compared to the others seems to enjoy and excites
him as well by controlling and playing with living creatures and He poked about with a bit of stick . . .

The Great Gatsby. Nick described his first encounter with the Great Gatsby and portrayed him to be

one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or

Violent Video Games And Its Potential Effects
Violent contents within video games have become rampant especially amongst adolescents. At the
same time, with the growing number of users being exposed to these games, it becomes crucial to
research the potential threats which emerge from playing these games. What many may not realize is
that research does assert how the violent contents within video games may lead to aggression, possibly
from arousal and being desensitized to real violence. Whilst other researchers argue that the
relationship between violent video games and desensitization to real violence is not causal and how
other factors such as family violence, one s development and genetic tendencies and one s perception
of violence may lead to one committing aggression or violence. This paper discusses such claims and
analyzes both sides of the spectrum to see if this relationship is causal or external factors may be
involved.

the video game industry is continuing to grow, over the last thirty years, more and more kids are

The Importance Of The Right To Bear Arms On College Arms
On December 15, 1791, the United States Congress ratified ten constitutional amendments that were
intended to limit and protect citizens from each other and the federal government. Among those ten
amendments, the second amendment grants states the right to establish a well regulated militia as
necessary to ensure the security of its citizens. By doing so, the federal government and state
governments shall not infringe the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Paradoxically, legislators
managed to infringe, redefine, and pose restrictions on the initial amendment. Specifically, there are
restrictions that limit the ability to carry concealed weapons on college campuses. Recent events, such
as the mass murders of college students by gunmen, have occurred due to the neglectful actions of
legislators. For instance, On April 16, 2007, a senior student at Virginia Polytechnic University went
on a shooting rampage on campus and killed thirty two people before committing suicide. It is obvious
that these open carry restrictions create an easy target for gunmen, as thousands of college students are
vulnerable to attacks. Louisiana is among those states that have concealed carry laws established to
make the concealment of firearms on college campuses illegal. Louisiana State University ranks first
in size and student population in Louisiana. In comparison to Virginia Polytechnic University, the
students at LSU are potentially in danger of gunmen. There is a common belief that

China s Scientific Revolution in the Tang and Song Dynasties
The scientific revolution was most notable in the Tang and Song Dynasties which covered a span of
three hundred years. Chinese scientist, doctors and mathematicians made great strides and important
advances in math, science, medicine and astronomy. Some of the inventions that were made during
this era are still represented in Chinese culture today. Among some of the earliest scientific invention
in these eras was the abacus, or what the Chinese called the shadow clock. This was the world s first
known calculator, and has remained one of China s greatest inventions. In his article The Song

world of the time. The world shaking China s three greatest inventions the gun powder, compass,
movable type printing were invented at that time, which altered the whole world s civilized rate of
progress. The abacus began to be used and had become the main calculating tool since then. (Zin, pg

cost many lives. During the Song Dynasty, China trade a lot with the west. This got gun powder in
circulation around the world. At the time, no one had ever seen anything like it. Some even feared it.
Eventually, Europeans began to develop their own gun powder based off of the Chinese designs. With

A strong woman is a woman determined to do something others are determined not be done (Piercy).
The women in A Tale of Two Cities show this rare type of strength just being who they are. The
author, Charles Dickens, creates them as individuals who break barriers with their masculine behavior.
Each, in effect of their special qualities, are determined in all they do. Madame Defarge, is a sinister
middle aged woman who strikes fear in all from her keen brute. But due to this uncivilized aggression,

H. Pylori Research Paper
Over half of human stomachs in the world are colonized by H. pylori. This bacterium is the culprit for
almost 80% of all gastric adenocarcinoma cases and upwards of 90% of all duodenal peptic ulcer
cases making it the second most common bacterial infection worldwide (6). Those colonized with H.
pylori have a two to six times increased risk of forming gastric cancer or ulcers. Because of this, H.
pylori has since been classified as a class I carcinogen. There are currently two completely sequenced
genomes of H. pylori (strain 26695 and strain J99) which have been revolutionary in the research and
understanding of its genetic diversity and pathogenic mechanisms. H. pylori are gram negative, spiral

pylori s expression of a Type IV secretion system suggests it utilizes horizontal gene transfer to uptake
DNA to and from host cells or other bacterial cells in its environment. H. pylori uses its T4SS to inject
the highly pathogenic cagA protein into the gastric epithelial cells of the human host which then
phosphorylates and interferes with human host signaling cascades related to cell differentiation,
proliferation, motility and cytoskeletal rearrangement causing H. pylori induced proinflammatory
responses via IL 8 activation and NF κB stimulation. This sequence of events results in the elongation
of infected host epithelial cells, characteristic of H. pylori illness, termed the hummingbird phenotype
(2). It has been shown that almost 100% of all Eastern Asian strains express the cagA protein while
only about 60 70% of the Western strains express a functional cagA protein. It is clear to see that
geographical regions have dramatic differences in virulence and pathogenicity of H. pylori strains
further proving the vast diversity in the genetics of the bacteria. The H. pylori T4SS can be assessed in
three different clusters of genes. The first is the protein type IV secretion system (pT4SS) whose
primary function is to translocate the cagA protein. The cag pathogenicity island uses 18 out of its 27
genes to translocate cagA into the host cells and 14 genes are used in

Personal Statement In Water Engineering
The best revenge is massive success. Frank Sinatra
It may seem wired, but the sense of revenge threw me into the field of water engineering. I spent most
of my childhood outdoors on my father s farm close to a small city in the west of the province. As a
hobby, my father gave me a small part of his farm, where I grew up different crops with his help.
During that time, I enjoyed nothing more than to see the farms green. But those days did not last long
and water scarcity impacted the farm s yield, resulted in water conflicts between farmers. The whole
income of the family depleted and left no choice other than selling the farm and migrating to the
capital of the province for other means of income. During high school when my classmates were

The religious leaders and figureheads that try to use the Bible as support for their campaign against

states to treat others as you would yourself. So why are we as a nation segregating the homosexual
community, even though we would hate to be ridiculed in any way, shape, and form? Same sex
marriage imposes itself on society. Even if this is true, religion does this more. Jehovah Witnesses go
door to door trying to convert people, as do many Christian and Catholic organizations. There are
worse things than same sex marriage that are legal. It is legal to smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol.
Cigarettes destroy the cells, preventing them from getting oxygen, leading to shortness of breath.
Alcohol destroys brain cells, and slows motor function. The drugs above both are addictive and

The Importance Of Human Evolution
Through research it has been determined that evolution is a part of nature, and organisms become
more complex over time. As organisms become more complex their characteristics begin to change,
and aspects that are beneficial for their survival become prominent in their offspring. However,
characteristics that are not beneficial to their survival begins to fade as organism evolve. From this
arise Charles Darwin s theory that evolution occurs because of natural selection, expressing that
organisms with the best characters will have a higher survival rates and have the ability to pass these
characteristics to their offsprings. Branching out from the theory of evolution it is believed that all
species have a common ancestor. Depending on how similar and different species are the further back
in time they would share a common ancestor. By discovering fossil remains, using radioactive dating,
and DNA mutation rates scientist were able to develop a phylogenetic tree. As of right now the
phylogenetic tree is extensive, but it is not complete. Human evolution is a prime example of a branch
that is still incomplete. By comparing DNA it has been determined that Chimps and Human DNA are
98.8 percent similar, however we are still different species (1). The question that still needs to be
answered is who is the common ancestor of Human and Chimps. Recently human ancestry has
become clear through the discovery of Ardipithecus ramidus, commonly referred to as Ardi. A group
of scientists

Jim Carrey Analysis The purpose of art is to bring people into presence Jim Carrey .The particular artist that I chose is an artist in many different realms though he is an accomplished actor he also is a painter and has painted for most of his life it was not until recently that his art work has been showcased. That artist that I am talking about is Jim Carrey. I feel that his artwork shows emotional depth has an interesting color schemes and really lets us go into his mind through the use of his art. The artwork that I have seen of Carrey s is emotional I understand that art is all about how one perceives their art and it can mean many things to many different people. For instance, when I look at his work I can see the emotion that he was trying to convey in the type of brush work that his painting has. I also understand that I could have chosen another artist that is more skillful or has been in the art world longer but with that being said that is why art is amazing it does not judge. Art has its own universal language. When I look at his paintings I can see and almost feel the work and feeling that goes into his work. When I look at it I feel the emotional depth. For example, he has this painting of Jesus Christ and it makes you wonder about everything our whole existence is based off of but like I said that is just my viewpoint. Another thing I have noticed about his artwork is that he uses a lot of interesting colors that pop out at you that demand attention. In a lot of his paintings ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Proto Pump Inhibitors Essay Description/Synopsis: Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and Laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) due to their potential to inhibit gastric acid production. Unfortunately, high doses of PPIs are associated with adverse health outcomes. The use of PPIs has been shown to affect the absorption of minerals and vitamin like calcium, iron and vitamin B12. Not only the risk of other severe conditions like hyperparathyroidism, diarrhea and pneumonia increases upon the long term use of PPIs but the negative effects also extend to coronary heart disease and atherosclerotic diseases. • 9. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Epilepsy Business Understanding According to World Health Organisation (2017), around 50 million people worldwide have epilepsy. Unfortunately, epilepsy cannot be cured, but could be controlled by pharmacological or electrical treatment based on seizure prediction (Moghim Corne, 2014). Since EEG has advantages such as speed, high time resolution and non invasive natures, it maintains one of the most frequently used tools in predicting epilepsy (Hasan et al. 2017). Electroencephalography (EEG) has a broad use in both medical practices and medical research for diagnosing and identifying epileptic seizures, syncope (fainting), cognitive psychologies, and psychophysiological research (Niedermever, 2004). Commonly used in identifying epilepsy, the EEG helps the doctors to distinguish types of seizures, the reasons to trigger the seizures and also the treatment needed. Types of EEG are different according to test aims, facilities, medical and patients situations, and are generally separated into 4 types: Routine EEG, Sleep EEG, Ambulatory EEG and Video EEG. All of the types would record electrical activities of the brain, investigate their potential fluctuations and brain waves, and perform analysis to convert the data into useful information in identifying the seizures. Usually, the EEG test will last for 20 to 40 minutes, and will be conducted by attaching scalp with the electrodes which are connected to an EEG recording machine (NHS, 2017). There are three main cases to be solved in this project. First is to identify whether an EEG showing seizure or not. Second is to identify the 5 categories of EEG. Third is to identify the classification of EEG, whether it is indicating healthy brain activity, potential epileptic seizure or actual epileptic seizure. Data Understanding The given data set contains fields such as ID, X1 to X178 which represents the 1 second EEG result and y which represents the EEG type. This data set will be used for model generation. The data set contains no missing values and distributed nicely with sufficient number of rows for creating models. The challenge for the profession is to offer a balance of services that are sound, that eventually will be profitable, and that satisfy the needs of e commerce and of society at large. • 12. How Does Darcy Present Elizabeth Bennet s Marriage First, The most significant marriage of the novel depicts the ideal vision of the bride Elizabeth Bennet. Her ideal vision of what a marriage should be was one where the bride and groom had true love for each other, as well as a mutual respect, and a intellectual connection that far surpassed a physical one. Elizabeth had no social status or assets. This was an obstacle that Darcy had to overcome throughout the book. He was constantly influenced by his family and those around him of equal or similar social status that he should marry someone with some sort of power. However Elizabeth had to overcome her prejudice towards the upper class, and understand Darcy for who he really was herself. Instead of listening to and believing others opinions and gossip. This marriage clearly fits the description of its bride s ideal marriage. Next, George and Lydia s marriage was used to save Lydia and the Bennet family reputation. When Lydia and George run away out of wedlock this potentially ruins the other Bennet sisters chance at marrying into the upper class. It starts on a gray, windy, and sad October morning where the sky still looks full of grumbling, unhappy, gray clouds even though it s been raining for a week. At this palace called Amalienborg palace where there are four buildings in an octagon shape in the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, where nothing exciting ever happens. As if the day didn t already look sad enough, my favourite chocolate sauce just had to run out today without the knowledge of the head chef until it was too late. At which point I threw a tantrum at him for 20 minutes. And then another one after breakfast when the house I tried to build out of waffles fell down, which happens every morning. After feeling satisfied by letting out some anger, I then slowly dragged myself away from the humongous dining room now littered with messy plates, waffles without their golden brown crusts, an empty vanilla ice cream container, and other half eaten food. It was time to go to my office to put my signature on pages of paper filled with words that the prime minister told me I have to agree to in order for them to pass . The building that contained my office was in another building across the square from the one I was in. While I was walking on the cobblestone I almost tripped on the same stone as I did yesterday. Blwaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh I screamed but caught my balance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The characters in the short stories of Dubliners , by James Joyce, undergo great and small epiphanies. These epiphanies aren t the sudden realization of new experiences and possibilities for reform, but instead they give the characters a better understanding of their circumstances. Literary elements are used to construct an author s writing to portray one s unique style and to convey the message that they want to bring to their readers. Literary elements add to a piece of writing in many ways. For example, an author may voice his or her perspective as expressed through the narrator in a story. The setting of a story helps the reader visualize the place and time in which the story occurs. At times, an author may use the literary technique of personification which gives nonhuman objects human abilities and characterizations. Authors such as Flannery O Connor, James Joyce, and Katherine Mansfield use several literary techniques to develop their stories and portray their message. These three authors use irony which contradicts what was inferred by a specific character in the beginning of the story. At the start of the story the reader and the other characters in the story expect one thing to occur but as one reaches the end of the story the situation is flipped to be exactly the opposite of what was expected. The Importance Of The Right To Bear Arms On College Arms On December 15, 1791, the United States Congress ratified ten constitutional amendments that were intended to limit and protect citizens from each other and the federal government. Among those ten amendments, the second amendment grants states the right to establish a well regulated militia as necessary to ensure the security of its citizens. By doing so, the federal government and state governments shall not infringe the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Paradoxically, legislators managed to infringe, redefine, and pose restrictions on the initial amendment. Specifically, there are restrictions that limit the ability to carry concealed weapons on college campuses. Recent events, such as the mass murders of college students by gunmen, have occurred due to the neglectful actions of legislators. For instance, On April 16, 2007, a senior student at Virginia Polytechnic University went on a shooting rampage on campus and killed thirty two people before committing suicide. Chinese scientist, doctors and mathematicians made great strides and important advances in math, science, medicine and astronomy. Some of the inventions that were made during this era are still represented in Chinese culture today. Among some of the earliest scientific invention in these eras was the abacus, or what the Chinese called the shadow clock. This was the world s first known calculator, and has remained one of China s greatest inventions. In his article The Song Dynasty, Toni Zin explains, The scientific development in the Song Dynasty ranked forefront in the world of the time. The world shaking China s three greatest inventions the gun powder, compass, movable type printing were invented at that time, which altered the whole world s civilized rate of progress. The abacus began to be used and had become the main calculating tool since then. (Zin, pg 4). Gun powder was the greatest invention that the world has ever known, and it was also one that has cost many lives. During the Song Dynasty, China trade a lot with the west. This got gun powder in circulation around the world. At the time, no one had ever seen anything like it. Some even feared it. Eventually, Europeans began to develop their own gun powder based off of the Chinese designs. With the invention of gun powder came new weapons. China is known for the first missile, which looked ... The women in A Tale of Two Cities show this rare type of strength just being who they are. The author, Charles Dickens, creates them as individuals who break barriers with their masculine behavior. Each, in effect of their special qualities, are determined in all they do. Madame Defarge, is a sinister middle aged woman who strikes fear in all from her keen brute. • 40. H. Pylori Research Paper Over half of human stomachs in the world are colonized by H. pylori. This bacterium is the culprit for almost 80% of all gastric adenocarcinoma cases and upwards of 90% of all duodenal peptic ulcer cases making it the second most common bacterial infection worldwide (6). Those colonized with H. pylori have a two to six times increased risk of forming gastric cancer or ulcers. Because of this, H. pylori has since been classified as a class I carcinogen. There are currently two completely sequenced genomes of H. pylori (strain 26695 and strain J99) which have been revolutionary in the research and understanding of its genetic diversity and pathogenic mechanisms. H. pylori are gram negative, spiral shaped, adorned with three to five polar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... pylori s expression of a Type IV secretion system suggests it utilizes horizontal gene transfer to uptake DNA to and from host cells or other bacterial cells in its environment. H. pylori uses its T4SS to inject the highly pathogenic cagA protein into the gastric epithelial cells of the human host which then phosphorylates and interferes with human host signaling cascades related to cell differentiation, proliferation, motility and cytoskeletal rearrangement causing H. pylori induced proinflammatory responses via IL 8 activation and NF κB stimulation. This sequence of events results in the elongation of infected host epithelial cells, characteristic of H. pylori illness, termed the hummingbird phenotype (2). It has been shown that almost 100% of all Eastern Asian strains express the cagA protein while only about 60 70% of the Western strains express a functional cagA protein. It is clear to see that geographical regions have dramatic differences in virulence and pathogenicity of H. pylori strains further proving the vast diversity in the genetics of the bacteria. The H. pylori T4SS can be assessed in three different clusters of genes. The first is the protein type IV secretion system (pT4SS) whose primary function is to translocate the cagA protein. The cag pathogenicity island uses 18 out of its 27 genes to translocate cagA into the host cells and 14 genes are used in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. Personal Statement In Water Engineering The best revenge is massive success. Frank Sinatra It may seem wired, but the sense of revenge threw me into the field of water engineering. I spent most of my childhood outdoors on my father s farm close to a small city in the west of the province. As a hobby, my father gave me a small part of his farm, where I grew up different crops with his help. During that time, I enjoyed nothing more than to see the farms green. But those days did not last long and water scarcity impacted the farm s yield, resulted in water conflicts between farmers. The whole income of the family depleted and left no choice other than selling the farm and migrating to the capital of the province for other means of income. During high school when my classmates were thinking about the major primary branches of engineering such as chemistry, mechanic and electric for their post secondary education, I was thinking about a different major. • 44. The Ban on Same Sex Marriage Have you ever seen something in society that just angers you and you wish it would change? Well I have, and it is the ban on same sex marriage. Homosexuals should be able to get married. I believe this because the main opposition of this are hypocrites, there are actions that are worse than same sex marriage that are legal, and there is nothing wrong with it. The main opposition of this are hypocrites. The religious leaders and figureheads that try to use the Bible as support for their campaign against same sex marriage are hypocrites. The book of Leviticus states that no man shall lie with another man. The same book also states that eating any sea creature without fins or scales is unholy, so why isn t there a campaign for banning the consumption of shrimp, seaweed, clams, etc.? The book of Mark states to treat others as you would yourself. So why are we as a nation segregating the homosexual community, even though we would hate to be ridiculed in any way, shape, and form? Same sex marriage imposes itself on society. Even if this is true, religion does this more. Jehovah Witnesses go door to door trying to convert people, as do many Christian and Catholic organizations. There are worse things than same sex marriage that are legal. It is legal to smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol. Cigarettes destroy the cells, preventing them from getting oxygen, leading to shortness of breath. Alcohol destroys brain cells, and slows motor function. The drugs above both are addictive and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. The Importance Of Human Evolution Through research it has been determined that evolution is a part of nature, and organisms become more complex over time. As organisms become more complex their characteristics begin to change, and aspects that are beneficial for their survival become prominent in their offspring. However, characteristics that are not beneficial to their survival begins to fade as organism evolve. From this arise Charles Darwin s theory that evolution occurs because of natural selection, expressing that organisms with the best characters will have a higher survival rates and have the ability to pass these characteristics to their offsprings. Branching out from the theory of evolution it is believed that all species have a common ancestor. Depending on how similar and different species are the further back in time they would share a common ancestor. By discovering fossil remains, using radioactive dating, and DNA mutation rates scientist were able to develop a phylogenetic tree. As of right now the phylogenetic tree is extensive, but it is not complete. Human evolution is a prime example of a branch that is still incomplete. By comparing DNA it has been determined that Chimps and Human DNA are 98.8 percent similar, however we are still different species (1). The question that still needs to be answered is who is the common ancestor of Human and Chimps. Recently human ancestry has become clear through the discovery of Ardipithecus ramidus, commonly referred to as Ardi. A group of scientists ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
