2. The Party For Freedom And The Socialist Party
By definition, Nationalism is an ideology in which a group s recognition and espouse of their identity,
as a nation, is expressed based on a common origin, in addition to the desire to spread their global
influence. Through analysis of the Netherlands Party for Freedom (PVV) and the Netherlands
Socialist Party (Socialistische Partij) alongside the World Values Survey, I will assess the values of
each party and compare their supporters through various variables in order to further examine
Nationalism. In comparison of the Party for Freedom and the Socialist Party, I will focus on the
country s answer toward the question: Which party would you vote for if there were a national
election tomorrow, as well as analyze the various demographics involved. The Netherlands is run
based upon a parliamentary representative democracy with both parties analyzed containing the same
number of seats within the parliament. Thus, both parties, despite having different worldviews, carry
similarities throughout the nationalistic views of the Dutch people. In order to inaugurate the analysis,
we must begin by determining the nationalistic views within the Netherlands and understand the basis
behind each party. The Party for freedom is a right wing nationalist party, while the Socialist Party is a
left wing social democratic party. Within the current politics of the Netherlands, both parties control
an equal number of seats with 15 being in the House of Representatives and 9 being within the

4. Rams Research Paper
Super Bowl XXXVI was a matchup between the New England Patriots and the St. Louis Rams. It was
suppose to be a day where the Rams prolific offence add their second Lombardi Trophy. New England
was a 14 point underdog. The third highest spread in super bowl history. (McGinn 278) The Rams
racked up 427 of offense to the Patriots 214 of offence. Patriots planted 8 times out of their first to
drivers, and had been inside the Rams 25 yard line only once. However it was still a game. With 1:21
left to go in the fame Tom Brady with no time outs lead his team to the Rams 38 yard line to set up the
winning 48 yard field goal from Adam Vinatieri. (YouTube) The Patriots Adam Vinatieri crushed a 48
yard field goal to win the game to start what would become a dynasty. It was a hard fought game by
both teams who deserved to fight for the Lombardi Trophy. (McGinn 278) ... Show more content on

The margin between the two teams was very narrow. The Cardinals offense was powerful and the
Steelers difference was mean. (McGinn 346) The Steelers won the game 27 23. Thing got very
interesting in the last quarter with 2 lead changes in the last two and a half minutes. (McGinn) For the
most part of the first 3 quarters, it was all Pittsburgh with a 20 7 lead over Arizona. To end the first
half James Harrison had a 100 yard pick six. Arizona stormed back in the 4 quarter to take the lead
after Fitzgerald s 64 yard touchdown sprint. 2:30 was left in the game and Big Ben lead his team to
win the game with an unreal throw and catch. (McGinn 347)
This was a battle between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI. Both
teams had a plethora of offense. The Falcons had speed, and the Patriots used precisions. Both
defenses were respectful. This game was bound to be a good one. (Associated Press

5. Essay about Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire
Life in the early 1900 s wasn t easy. Competition for jobs was at an all time high, especially in New
York City. Immigrants were flooding in and needed to find work fast, even if that meant in the hot,
overcrowded conditions of garment factories. Conditions were horrid and disaster was inevitable, and
disaster did strike in March, 1911. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in New York set on fire, killing 146
workers. This is an important event in US history because it helped accomplish the tasks unions and
strikes had tried to accomplish years earlier, It improved working conditions in factories nationwide
and set new safety laws and regulations so that nothing as catastrophic would happen again. The
workplace struggles became public after ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wages were very low for the amount of work people were expected to do. People would only make
anywhere from $1.25 $1.50 for the entire 10 12 hour workday. Not only were these wages extremely
low, but employees often lived in expensive company housing which left barely any money for the
other necessities of life. Nobody was satisfied with the wages during this time period but another
struggle was the long hours. People worked 60 80 hour work weeks in the hot overcrowded factories,
only doing one monotonous job. Lastly, the boss was very distant from the work crowd and there was
little to no contact between the two groups. Also, the workers were very controlled by the foreman.
The doors were locked on all floors to prevent theft during the day and bathroom breaks would be
monitored by a floor manager. Overall, during the late 1800 s everyone was overworked and
underpaid and this led to many troubles as years went on. Everyone was frustrated with work
conditions and this led to the formations of unions around the country. The Knights of Labor was a
very popular union that led the first major strike in the United States. The year was 1885 and Jay
Gould s Missouri Pacific Railroad was the target. The owner, Jay Gould, had recently cut wages
drastically and fired union members. The Knights led the strike and eventually succeeded to improve
wages for the railroad workers. With this great accomplishment the Knights gained

7. Napoleon Crossing the Alps (Second Versailles Version)
Napoleon Crossing the Alps (Second Versailles version) Napoleon Crossing the Alps is a painting
constructed by Jacques Louis David in the early 1800s. This painting features Napoleon Bonaparte on
a horse during his journey through the Alps that he and his army completed in May of 1800. While the
painting is based off of an extremely important historical event, Jacques Louis David also used
photographic and artistic elements to further depict Napoleon as he crossed the Alps. The artistic
elements that Jacques Louis David uses in this piece add extreme detail to the simple painting. The
complex shadowing shown in the painting play a critical part in the viewer s perspective of Napoleon.
The shadows cast darkness in multiple places, darkening the background, making the back of
Napoleon and his horse even darker. This detail causes Napoleon and his horse to stand out against the
dark, grey backdrop. Additionally, the horse s light colored mane and Napoleon s red cape create a
contrast against the sky, drawing the viewer s eye to them. The depth of field in the photo is another
photographic element used in this painting. Although there is a wide depth of field since nothing is
very blurred, Napoleon and the horse are sharper than the other elements of the background, for
example the cliff, the mountains, and the troop. The depth of field shows that Napoleon and his horse
are the main subjects of the painting since they are both closer to viewer, and they are clearer than

8. Possibility Of The American Dream
The American Dream is a goal that many, if not all, Americans hope to achieve. The definition differs
among those that dream of it, but the general idea is the same: to find some sort of success in life. The
American Dream does not come easy to everyone; some believe that over time, the American Dream
has become unachievable. The American Dream is still accessible; it just takes a lot of effort,
confidence, and sacrifice to achieve.
The American Dream is not an easy thing to achieve. There could be multiple things stopping you
from achieving it. For some people, self reliance and sacrifice are what make it the American Dream
possible. In the article, Is the American Dream Still Possible? by David Wallechinsky, the author
believes that self reliance and sacrifice are needed to achieve the American Dream. Wallechinsky
writes about a woman named Shelly Comer who has worked her whole life to give her kids a good
life. She has an annual income of $70,377. Shelly says, But I have nothing saved for me... I m putting
it all into the kids, so that they can succeed in school, (Wallechinsky, 11). Shelly is giving the money
she would use for herself to her kids in order for her kids to have good lives. Another example is from
the movie adaption of Raisin in the Sun, written by Lorraine Hansberry. Raisin in the Sun is a movie
about an African American family living in the south side of Chicago during the 1950s. The Younger
family gets a check for $10,000 (which is around $82,000 in

9. Early Colonial Independence
In early colonial history, from 1765 to 1774, there an increase of resentment from the colonist to the
mother land of Great Britain. This was due in part to the economic policies and the tax policies from
Parliament and how the colonial leaders were pressured into declaring independence from Great
Britain to protect their interests. Yet, on closer inspection there must be certain groups and movements
that indirectly influenced the way the revolution occurred. Meaning that many of the Founding Fathers
had a different idea than independence from Great Britain. We have known in American history that
there was a general outcry of, Taxation without Representation. That statement implies a more
economic variable in the American Revolution and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1770, as it had done in 1765, Parliament retreated from violent confrontation, repealing all of the
obnoxious duties except that on tea... The various taxes enacted by the British Parliament had the
effect of slowly disgruntling the colonial populace by infringing on their right to buy whatever luxury
goods were on the market. Added to that effect, the way the various colonies were not able to
represent themselves or send out any type of grievance to Parliament. With that in mind it is important
to note the colonial American consumer need for imported goods provided an overwhelming desire for
readily made goods and that consumer element made a transition to the political and public sphere.
That resentment and being ignored by the royal government steadily escalated the colonists into action
and against Great Britain. This was no more apparent than in newspapers, many colonists used aliases
when responding to public discourse in newspapers and see their writings everywhere in the colonies.
Therefore, those colonists that could read can also make their own thoughts about what to do in the
colonies with their relationship to Great Britain. In time, that resentment boiled over into conflict over
ideas of liberty and independence, economic

10. Participation Backwards Argumentative Essay
Every year people complain that kids get awards they didn t earn simply for participating in an event.
This is damaging to their future perspective on rewards, which are earned through effort rather than
just showing up and giving minimal effort. Giving kids rewards for the effort they exhibit while
participating in events can be beneficial, but if you constantly reward children they ll receive the
wrong message. That no matter the amount of effort or what the outcome is you ll be given a reward.
As parents you are not doing the best you can for your kids if you allow this to happen. You are not
setting them up for success if you always give them a trophy, especially when they give minimal effort
or lose.
Participation trophies are always under scrutiny by many different groups of people. Even with this
huge stigma following them, the issue isn t usually covered by the media or debated on a large scale.
That silence was broken when the Pittsburg Steelers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most common argument for participation trophies is that by giving the kids trophies for showing
up and doing anything, it will keep kids interested in playing the game or coming to practice. Until
everyone got a trophy for just showing up, they truly meant something. The definition of a trophy is as
follows, something gained or given in victory or conquest especially when preserved or mounted as a
memorial (Merriam Webster). When did trophies designed to be given as rewards for great victories
become the means to get kids show up? Instead we should be giving them ice cream, cookies, or pizza
as a reward for showing up. These would get them to participate but are small enough rewards that
won t damage their understanding of the effort really needed to obtain the top

Narrative History of Texas Annexation, Secession, and Readmission to the Union
Texans voted in favor of annexation to the United States in the first election following independence
in 1836. However, throughout the Republic period (1836 1845) no treaty of annexation negotiated
between the Republic and the United States was ratified by both nations.
When all attempts to arrive at a formal annexation treaty failed, the United States Congress passed
after much debate and only a simple majority a Joint Resolution for Annexing Texas to the United
States. Under these terms, Texas would keep both its public lands and its public debt, it would have

Ordinance of Secession on February 1 and a Declaration of Causes on February 2. This proposal was
approved by the voters, but even before Texas could become independent as provided for in the text of
the Ordinance, it was accepted by the Provisional Government of the Confederate States of America
as a state on March 1, 1861.
The Secession Convention, reconvened on March 2, approved an ordinance accepting Confederate
statehood on March 5. Texas delegates to the Provisional Confederate Government had already been
elected, and they were among those who approved the proposed Confederate Constitution. Their
action was confirmed by the Secession Convention on March 23.
Throughout the Civil War period, Texas existed as a state in the Confederate States of America, its
status confirmed by the elected representatives of the Texas citizens. (Sam Houston, although
accepting the decision of the electorate to secede, protested the Convention s decision to join the
Confederacy since the matter was not submitted to popular vote. His opposition was insufficient to

Convention.) John H. Reagan, a Texan, was the Postmaster General of the C.S.A., and other Texans

12. Characteristics Of Natives In Joseph Conrad s Heart Of...
Belgium While in Belgium, Kurtz starts off thinking that going to Africa to work for the Company is a
great idea. However, after he hears about the story of the previous commissioned captain, Fresleven,
being killed by the Natives there, he feels a bit uneasy.
The Congo The Congo, which fascinated Marlow as a kid, serves as a very dangerous location in
Heart of Darkness. This is the location in which the Natives attacked and where, so much fog existed
that it would be too dangerous to move the steamer. As a result, the Marlow and the pilgrims acted
uneasy in this setting.
On the steamer While on the steamer, Marlow acts braver and does not show much emotion. When the
Helmsmen died, he saw him as foolish rather than showing remorse. Additionally, he easily scared off
the attack by blowing a whistle. This is logical because Marlow emphasizes how much he loves the
sea and traveling to places. He ignores other problems and focuses on main goals while on the
steamer. As for the pilgrims, they became very interested in Kurtz and wanted to see him when he died

Anne Francis Robbins was born in New York City on July 6th, 1921. Anne s early life seemed like it
would not lead to be anything nearly as successful as it did. Early on in her life Anne would acquire
the name Nancy. When Nancy was born her father left her and her mother. Nancy s mother Edith, who
was a young actress, sent Nancy to go live with her aunt and uncle in Maryland. Here she attended a
community school titled Sidwell Friends School. Nancy would regularly travel with her aunt to see
her mother in New York City.
Nancy s mother would go on to marry a very prominent neurosurgeon from Chicago. Nancy would

their family. They then had another kid, counting Ronald s two other kids, made four in total.
In 1967, Ronald was elected as the governor of California. Nancy immediately took the role as her
beloved state. She was quickly criticized after speaking out about governor s mansion calling it a fire
trap before moving her family to a Sacramento suburb. The press and Ronald s political opponents
recognized her as snobbish, though she had only moved for the safety of her family. Her reputation
soon healed itself after becoming involved in the foster grandparents program. She was than known as
a model first lady.
In 1980 Ronald was elected president of the United States, after a failed campaign in 1976. In 1982
she championed a drug abuse awareness and education program. She spread the awareness by
traveling throughout the U.S. and other foreign countries. In 1985 the Just Say No campaign took off,
but was criticized by some as simplistic. Though the criticism was still in affect, the National Crusade
for a Drug Free America act was finalized by President Reagan in 1986.
The president s personal protector was said to be Nancy s most important role as the first lady. When

14. Why Do Jewish Women Join Partisan Groups
Jewish women fighting within the partisan groups faced an uphill battle in their attempt to gain respect
and find their place within the group. Being both Jewish and women, just gaining access into the
group was difficult but then once they were in, they faced being bound by traditional feminine role
and the threat of sexual abuse. Many partisan women though, did not let racism, and sexism define
them and proved themselves valuable through their work ethics, skills, and strength. Through several
stories we have learned about, we can see the heroism that these women showed and how they broke
away from the traditional roles that women were expected to play, shattering the stereotypes that were
put on them. These women survived not only being a partisan but also the evil twins of anti Semitic
and sexual violence (JPEF1). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many Jewish women did not join the partisans out of fear, and felt that their role was to remain loyal
to their family, even if that meant death, and many men agreed with this. We see this with Meyer
Orbuch who refused to take his sister into his partisan group saying, no girls can go with us. Only
boys can go (JPEF2). So the women that did join partisans were already breaking free of the
traditional roles that many people felt they should be playing as women. Women that joined the
partisans wanted to live, and to avenge the humiliation that had been thrown upon them and their
families. This concept of women wanting to fight and use a gun broke conventional roles and shows

Politics (past/present)
In 1961 Janio da Silva Quadros became President. He believed that Brazil had to trade with all nations

which was a complete misunderstanding. Alegra was simply sticking up for herself after being bullied
by the same student for the past year (9 News). As a result of the incident, the parents decided to hire
an attorney named Igor Raykin and may file a lawsuit against the school for the traumatization of their
daughter. Soon after the Douglas County School District General Counsel provided a statement to the
community mentioning that the safety and well being of the students are a top priority. They also
discussed how the detention room allows freedom for students to work on their homework and leave
the room when needed. However, this freedom was not demonstrated when Ramstad arrived at the
school to see her daughter in one of the rooms. The incident sparks controversy of the school s
treatment of children and brings up the question of how many other children were put into this cell
and if these children s parents were aware of this occurrence. If so, a lawsuit should be filed against
the school against those parents as well. It is sad to see the actions this elementary school decided to
take in order to fix these children s behavioral issues or in this case a misunderstood situation.

The Kingdom of Sienna was beautiful place. The bustling streets were filled with shops, eateries, and

19. Charge Of The Light Brigade Diction
In the poem Charge of the Light Brigade Alfred Lord Tennyson tells the story of a light brigade
consisting of 600 soldiers charging on horseback into the valley of death during the Battle of
Balaclava during the Crimean War in 1953 56 where they fought against Russian and Cossack forces.
The poem tells of the journey that soldiers take through battle. Tennyson uses repetition,
personification, and diction to make this poem flow.
Throughout the poem the reader will notice that Tennyson uses repetition. At the end of the first three
paragraphs Tennyson writes Rode the six hundred. (Lines 8, 17, 26). The writer is saying that as they
charged into the valley of death that they have maintained their ranks even though they realized ...

(Line 5 6). As the poems goes on it says Was there a man dismayed?/ Not though the soldier knew/
Someone had blundered. (Lines 10 12). The author means to say that the soldiers realized that as they
were charging forward their commander had made a mistake. Then they rode back, but not/ Not the

they had suffered many casualties so they were Not the six hundred (Line 38). As they rode back they
were hit with cannon fire from the back and on both sides. When the brigade retreated Back from the

world stood in awe at the courage of he soldiers. All of the 600 men that fought in that battle still
remain worthy of honor and tribute today. In the poem Charge of the Light Brigade Alfred Lord
Tennyson utilizes repetition, personification, and diction to present how it is to be in battle and how it
can impact people. In this poem Tennyson explains how the Battle of Balaclava

21. Mainstreaming Special Needs Children
The Positive Advantages to Mainstreaming Special Needs Children
In an ideal world all children would be born without disabilities. This idea is not possible though and
sometimes children are born with special needs. The child could have only one disability or several. A
disability can be mild and treated with medication or the disability can be severe and the child will
need constant supervision. Once the child becomes of age to attend school, the issue of whether or not
to place the child in a regular classroom or special needs classroom arises. This is when
mainstreaming comes into place. Mainstreaming special needs children into the regular classroom has
been a worldwide controversy; however, there are many advantages to placing these ... Show more

Students who are mainstreamed have to learn to live by the same rules as the other students and this
can help them socially. Researchers have also shown that when the children are included in peer
groups, everyone learns to respect each other s differences, and the results clearly disprove the
concern that disabled students would be outcasts in a regular classroom. By mainstreaming the
children, it should lead to a more tolerant and accepting society overall. Other positive reasons why
special needs children should be in a regular student classroom is because, if they are not isolated they
can achieve better socially and academically. Regular classrooms can help them cope better with the
real world. Being in a regular classroom would also help their self esteem, and it teaches both disabled
and regular students compassion, acceptance, and patience. In 2001 the National Center on
Educational Outcomes surveyed state directors of special education. The directors reported increased
participation rates from the students with disabilities in state assessments. The positive outcomes from
the assessments were increased access to the general curriculum, increased inclusion in accountability
system, more rigorous education, increased participation in state assessments, increased academic
expectations, improved performance on some state assessments, and increased general and special
education networking (Giuliano 34). Some examples of how

Organization culture is one of the most essential factor that decide the success or failure of a company.
Currently customers demands, and taste are continuously changing thus, a strong organizational

parts which are:
Attention to Detail EMPER perfumes can be considered a company that focuses a lot on details. That
is because of their non stop research to find new perfume designs and produce them at the highest

levels of the organization due to them believing that teamwork is the best way to innovate. On the
other hand EMPER perfumes can also be a process oriented company, because low level staff have to

In a highly respected profession such as nursing, professionalism is an important element to staying
employed and setting one s self apart from the rest of the applicants when competing for a potential
job. By definition professionalism are the qualities and traits that describe a professional. While
knowledge is crucial in any profession, according to an article published by the University of Kansas
(2012), all medical professionals must strive to retain those humanistic qualities integrity, respect, and
compassion that constitute the essence of professionalism. Whether you work in a hospital or

Even if no one found out about this mistake, eventually it could happen again if you don t take the
necessary steps to correct your mistake, and this time it could be deadly for your patient.
Being respectful and considerate to your patient is necessary for providing excellent patient care. It is
also important to be respectful and considerate to your colleagues; arriving on time, being a team
player, doing above the minimum as often as you can are all excellent ways to show this. It is essential
to ensure that the workplace is an environment in which all colleagues enjoy equal respect and where
they can advance to their full potential. (Professionalism initiative, 2012) If everyone treated their
colleagues with respect, it would make the workplace very hospitable and help provide better patient
care, which is the main purpose of nursing. An environment without respect can become hostile and
impair the growth of your colleagues and yourself which can lead to giving substandard care to your
patients and their families.
Compassion is a crucial aspect of nursing; it involves seeing the patients as more than just a medical

24. Setting Analysis Of To Build A Fire By Jack London
Setting Analysis of To Build A Fire Today, children are always told to live for the moment. Not to
worry about the little things and to live as if there will be no tomorrow. Almost as if what is done
today will not affect tomorrow. In reality, every little thing people do will impact them in some type of
way. For every choice or decision someone makes, there is a consequence that comes with it. This
consequence can be major, minor, good, or bad. In Jack London s short story To Build A Fire , readers
are taken along on a journey with a naive man and his dog as they battle the extreme winter conditions
of the Yukon. One of the driving forces to the story s plot is the harsh setting in which this journey
takes place. The setting enforces the ominous mood of the story as well as reveals information about
the man. While doing so, the setting also conveys the idea that with every decision or action there is a
consequence that must be faced. The setting of To Build A Fire is not one that is warm and inviting.
Instead, it is one that is frigid and frightening. Many layers of snow on the surface make it seem as if
there is an intangible pall over the face of things (London 569). For miles all that can be seen is a
sheet of white and the dreariness of the vacant land. The temperature is well in the negatives and the
winds are strong. The sun has not been out in days. With every step the man takes, nature throws
another obstacle into his path. This is an environment that is

guards rushed inside and told us all to get outside immediately. We went outside the nazis made us
start walking to the train station. Once we arrived at the station the nazis made all the jews cramp into
small cattle carts. This process took about two hours. Once in awhile you would hear gun shots. That
was usually the officers shooting at a Jew who was trying to escape. After all the Jews got on the train
my family and I prayed that we would all stay together. After what it seemed like forever we arrived in
a town called Rzeszow. There My family and the rest of the Jews were forced to live in a ghetto. The
ghetto was small but at least I was able to stay with my family.
We had to share a house with four other Jewish families. It was usually really crowded inside so I
spent most of the day outside. There were a lot of kids there but none that I would want to talk to. I
usually tried talking to adults. They knew a lot more about what was going on. I was very religious so
every chance I had I would pray with others. Usually I would pray with these two brothers. They
always had something really interesting to talk about. Their names were Future and Drake. They were

I began reading a book on the yamas and niyamas. The yamas and niyamas are the foundation to all

This takes courage: Courage to step outside of societal norms. Courage to accept not only ourselves,
but to accept others, just as they are. Courage to learn the difference between belonging and fitting in.
Courage to discern between real fear that keeps you alive, and fear that keeps you from living.
Here are five ways to begin practicing ahimsa.
1. Go Outside Your Comfort Zone.
Begin by doing one thing daily that you normally wouldn t do. If you re feeling brave, make that one
thing that scares you.
2. Listen to Your Body.
Create balance by finding guidance from messages of your body. Practice yoga or find movement
through a connection to your breath and listen.
3. Check In With Yourself.
Notice what you might be avoiding in your own life because you are so interested in others lives. Are
you a worrier? A fixer? Discern the difference between help and support.
4. Pretend You Are Complete.
There is no need to expect anything from yourself, or to criticize, judge, or change anything about
you. Cultivate gratitude.

29. Sociological Analysis Of Private Troubles In The Military
1. Sociological Concept: The book defines private troubles as, problems we face in our immediate
relationships with particular individuals in our personal lives (Witt, 2016, p. 3). Example: The
example I found for private troubles are flyers posted on every bulletin board in every work center at
Eielson Air Force Base. The flyers are made by the base chaplain and mental health clinic. The flyers
are there to provide the phone numbers of people to contact who can help with private troubles.
Sociological Analysis: The reason I picked these flyers to use for private troubles is that mental health
and resiliency are stressed so much not only in the Air Force but in the military as a whole. Members
of the military face private troubles on a daily basis, mainly with their family life or their coworkers.
As a member of the military, we cannot do our job to the best of our ability if we are always thinking
about the private troubles of a marriage failing or not getting along with co works. So, to have support
from the office of the chaplain and the mental health clinic is crucial to the well being of the military.
In some cases, it is very obvious that a person is going through private troubles and others can do a
very good job of hiding it. To have resources so readily available and willing to help with our private
troubles is very important. 2. Sociological Concept: The book defines in group as, a category of
people who share a common identity and sense of belonging (Witt,

31. Hudsucker Proxy, No Country For Old Men And The Coen Brothers
The movie The Hudsucker Proxy, No Country for Old Men, Blood Simple and Raising Arizona were
all directed by the Coen Brothers a duo of filmmakers. Every film that the Coens have made, the story
usually starts out with an average Joe who gets involved in a complex scheme that appears to be
simple at first, but, in all reality, is totally beyond them. Violence, death, and murder are usually
common within their films as well. In No Country For Old Men, the middleman kills almost every
single person that stands in his way. In the movie The Hudsucker proxy a business man committed
suicide by jumping out of a window within the first ten minutes of the movie. The Coen Brothers have
proven to fit the Auteur Theory because of the similarities of their films that they have directed and
written as well as their consistency. The movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a motion picture
fantasy drama that falls under the Genre action/adventure. The film gained so much popularity in Asia,
managed to make its way to the United States and win four Academy Awards. One could compare it to
the movies Kill Bill Vol 1, Kill Bill Volume 2, and The Gladiator . In all three movies, swords of
different styles are used in multiple ways. Each individual film includes scenes of vengeance,
assassins, battles, murder and triumph. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is an example of Classical in

It is not what a person says that is important, but instead how they say it. By changing the tone or
audience of a work, the purpose can be completely altered. Two articles can have identical
information, yet when a different tone is formed between the two, their purposes drastically change.
The article What Colleges Will Teach in 2025 by Jon Meacham and The Failure of American Higher
Education by Robert Atkinson both contain a topic that is similar on many levels. That being said,
each article has an entirely different tone and audience, effectively skewing the similarity between
their purposes. While Atkinson created a sound argument, his choice of tone and use of audience were
far less effective than Meacham s. To better understand the writing of an author, it is important to see
where they are coming from. Both Meacham and Atkinson are professionals who have a lot of
knowledge on their topic. Atkinson is the founder of a well known think tank, along with having an
extensive background in economics. Being an employer, Atkinson has personal experience with the
hiring process. On the other side of the spectrum, Meacham has a prodigious knowledge of American
history. He is both a best selling author and a fellow of the Society of American Historians. This,
along with being a former trustee of the University of the South give Meacham an air of expertise on
the topic of his article. Meacham s audience is specific, aiming to pinpoint the problem and resolve it.

organization behavior. To accomplish its goals, GC must not only keep the end state in mind, but also
address the method by which goals are achieved. Communication between stakeholders is essential to

Although GC s declining performance is in a completely different industry, the same principle applies
to both companies â a clear statement of what will happen followed by actions that back it up are
necessary to make significant cultural changes. For GC to argue that decrease of operating costs is
prompting the outsourcing, then teams across the company must be subject to budget reductions. This
strategy can be coupled with workflow analysis (see below). A second area for GC to examine in
defining its corporate strategy is where the company s core competencies lie â is GC noted for their
technical team or aggressive marketing strategies. At first glance, a call center does not have much in
common with the telecom industry. But at McKesson, the loss of several FTE positions stimulated
employees to develop a cohesive plan to train coworkers and streamline workflow to allow for the
consolidation of three groups (Levin, 2006). This was accomplished by fully informing affected staff
of upcoming changes and taking their input into consideration to develop/implement a solution. GC
has a similar opportunity in front of them â by including union and staff on the constraints of the
current situation as well as available resources, employees themselves may be able to identify
additional areas of savings while working to retain the employee pool in a redistributed basis. As with
McKesson, GC may find that many strategies that emerge are ones that have been

Reflection Evaluating Arguments, Opinions, and Beliefs Project Giving Children Brought Here
Illegally a Path to Citizenship Barbara Corvell October 26, 2016 This essay is a reflection on what I
learned from the group project on whether or not children who were brought to the United States
illegally by their parents should be deported or given a path to citizenship outside the normal
requirements. Majority Perspective, Consequences and Culture On what I learned I m not sure I can
gage what the majority perspective is of society without further research as each side tended to
contradict what the other used as a basis for their opinion, but it would appear that the majority
perspective within the group was that they shouldn t be provided a path to citizenship which is in
opposition to my thoughts. My view for path to citizenship is based more on impacts to the children
and ensuring they are not negative. What surprised me first and foremost was that the research didn t
provide me a clear answer that supported or refuted my view. There is no clear answer, both sides
have valid opinions, and there will be both negative and positive impacts. No matter what course of
action is taken, the most important consequence I learned is that the children are not winners. Whether
that be that their parents are deported without them resulting in what could be an emotional and/or
financial impact to the children or that they themselves are deported, which can also result in

A common method marketers use to attract consumers to their products is based around theories in
psychology and consumer behaviour. This essay will be focusing on a specific area of consumer
behaviour; personality and the self, and how marketers have used an understanding of this to develop
brands that purposely appeal to certain consumer groups. Real company examples will be used to
explore the different ways in which this understanding has been applied and to consequently establish
what this means for organisations and consumers alike.
The self concept is an important consideration for marketers due to the necessity of gaining the
attention and loyalty of consumers. There are a number of ways in which the self concept can be
applied, one of which is to position the brand as aspirational, appealing to peoples ideal self . In this
instance consumers are likely to buy a product or invest in the brand as they feel they inherit aspects
of the product that match how they want to be (their ideal.) A good example of how this is used can be
found in the cosmetic industry, where companies advertise their products to make you look and feel
beautiful, therefore by using them you will achieve this feeling (Malär, 2011, p35.) However there is a
risk to companies that the ideal self being portrayed is far beyond the consumers self image,
consequently creating incongruence between the consumer and the brand. This is not the desired effect
of marketers, as there is extensive research

An objective for a group to free slaves and pay for them to be relocated in Africa, is a one of the most
influential ways to start an end towards slavery. This group is called the American Colonization
Society. If the support from local and state branches, churches, and federal government are
contributing to provide funds to this cause, it is one way to prove that this is something that should
happen. Think about it, African Americans could enjoy all the advantages of society, self government,
eligibility to office, and freedom from the degradation arising from an inferiority of caste.

One reason for someone to oppose is because for the slaves that were born in America are more
inclined to stay in the country they are from. This contribution could make the African Americans feel
forced to move to a country they are not familiar with. All the slaves that have worked hard to build
the land deserve the freedom where they are from. Others could say and believe that its true intent was
to drain off the best of the free black population and preserve the institution of slavery. Finally, when
people see that this plan could work it is going to cost money to buy substantial numbers of people for
their freedom. This means that the price of enslaved people will increase and soon after this situation,
it can create problems on how we are going to fund this contribution and who we are going to decide
that will participate in this or not.
To conclude, I completely agree with the American Anti Slavery contributing funds for colonization
and allowing its name to be used in this effort. Besides the reasons for people who oppose, this is one
influential way to slowly end slavery. This is showing the nation that not everyone is for racism,
everyone is changing and not everything is based on the color of your skin. Slavery has gone on for

Thomas Paine and America a Prophecy William Blake, poet of the Romantic Era, wrote in 1793 the
prophetic story America a Prophecy. The story begins with Orc breaking the chains that held him
down and sexually assaulting a young woman that has been taking care of him. The woman is
revealed to represent America and that she has been waiting for Orc to help her. Soon Orc and other
colonies under British rule attack the Prince of Albion and King George III. Alongside Orc are
historical figures such as; George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Paine who fight for the
liberty of their country. The story ends with Orc liberating America from tyrannical rule and
influencing other countries to rebel.
The mention of Thomas Paine s in the prophetic story is not coincidental, as he and Blake were
involved with one another in real life. I believe that by having Thomas Paine appear in the prophecy
shows the importance of Paine s work to the American Revolution and Blake s own political views
and writing. I will analyze the text of America a Prophecy to have a better understanding of the
prophetic book and then give historical context to Thomas Paine s work and beliefs. By doing this I
will finally analyze the two writers and see where Blake s America a Prophecy, and Paine s own work,
specifically Rights of Man, agree and differ from one another.
