spent thirteen out of my eighteen years of my life cheerleading and it is definitely something that
means a lot to me. Being on the cheer mat whether at practice or at competition has taught me many
life lessons that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Having such caring and dedicated coaches made
my experience so special and unique. My passion for cheerleading shows tremendously as soon as I
step on the mat, and learning many life lessons from cheer has shaped me into the person I am today.
In competitive cheerleading stunting is one of the most important things in a cheer routine. Stunting is
something every team wants to be the best at, but it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be the

Chapter 2: Literature Review
Introduction
Many young adults within the university and college educational system experience stress. The stress
and anxiety they incur can vary due to multiple factors. This chapter examined some of these different
factors and how they have contributed to undergraduate student stress and anxiety and overall college
experience. It also focused on the positive and negative coping mechanisms students utilized in order
to manage their stress and anxiety. Finally, it examined the mental health resources available that have
helped promote adaptive emotional management skills. By examining these factors the reader will
better understand the elements that could contribute to the student s ability to thrive in their
undergraduate experience.
Stress and Undergraduate Students Fear and Stress Contributing to Student Performance. Students
may experience academic difficulty due to a variety of factor. One particular factor students may face
regularly is fear. While growing up, fears are a common experience, however as an individual gets
older they eventually learn how to better manage their experience of fear (Bledsoe Baskin, 2014).
Nevertheless, fear can still occasionally impact peoples cognitive abilities. Cognitive functioning is a
significant part of the undergraduate experience so any impairment of it can be significant.

The Aeneid a beautifully epic poem written by Virgil. This epic tale consists of a Trojan warrior
Aeneas go through trials and tribulations of fate. Though many of his problems consist of women who
have loved and loathed him in his life. These women nonetheless have made his founding of Rome
come true. Every woman in this story has contributed to Aeneas s destiny and character.
Minerva is first shown in the second book of The Aeneid. Aeneas is going back to the war and is
describing what lead them to bring in the horse. He recounts of a Trojan boy named Sinon. Sinon goes
on to say that the hose is a gift for the goddess Minerva. That she has turned her backs on the Greeks
because of Ulysses destruction of a temple. Now this horse will appease Minerva and bring them
victory among the war with Greece. A priestess not believing the man decides to try to puncture it with
a spear. From this action Laocoon and his two sons are soon eaten by two serpents that have come
from the ocean. The serpents then slither to the Minerva shrine. Thus, giving the trojans enough
evidence to bring in the horse. By Bringing Minerva into the lie of the gift, they ultimately started the
destruction of Troy. Minerva influenced these men to accept this gift and ultimately brings Troy s
down fall and brings Aeneas to flee with his family. This woman influenced the beginning of Aeneas s
travels and the eventual discovery of Rome. In the beginning of our story we are introduced to
