may seem contradictory, but there is evidence that music is and has been a part of many deaf people s
lives. Music is and has been a part of the Deaf culture, including, but not limited to, Deaf musicians,
utilising music to teach speech. The primary purpose of this thesis was to explore the relation between
Deaf culture and music and examine the role of music in the deaf culture and to relate the findings to
current practices in music education programs for hearing impaired students historically and presently.

likely to turn to crime as a means of survival which increases their chances of building a criminal

Sharon Olds author of the Language of the Brag, suggests through her experience in the poem that our
society and culture altogether is male dominated towards achievement and focused more for men s
success and heroism. Men are typically known for their strength and courage, especially heroic acts in
society. When things are expected to get done, it s naturally expected for the guy to do it. And through

A person has to really pay attention to the details to see the name. It is pretty hard to drive by and
notice that there is a church on that street. In the Catholic Church that I attend, the name is pretty
obvious. A person can tell that there is a church from quite a distance. In my opinion, the church did
not lend itself to worship.
Worship
The nature of the worship facility consisted of communion and prayers of forgiveness and faith.
As mass originate, the reverend, who was named Jimmy Orate, and his wife discussed many life
stories with the people. This stage of the worship service lasted a good fifteen to twenty minutes. The
reverend s wife spoke about an abortion that she went through before she found Christ. That abortion
led to her guilt for many years. She had no kind of peace, and credits that to her past non belief in
God. She felt ashamed to speak about the abortion with people, but with the faith in God and Christ,
she was finally able to confront her fear until finally speaking about the issue. She managed to ask for
forgiveness and was finally able to deal with herself. The message associated with this anecdote was

Effective nurse leaders within a CAS demonstrate the ability to be flexible, adaptable, and creative

(Weberg). The article, Addressing Leadership Gap in Healthcare , also identifies 16 qualities of
effective leaders. These qualities range from building relationships by knowing how to build and
maintain working relationship with co workers and external parties, leading employees , change

Learned helplessness refers to an organism learning to accept and endure an aversive stimulus that it
cannot escape even when it is avoidable. This theory shows that having some control over our lives is
preferable to no control at all. Based on the original theory of learned helplessness, one of the key
factors in Seligman s theory were uncontrollability and repeated cruelty or neglect. Based on many
experiments done by Seligman, controllability determines if one is suffering from learned
