What I Would Use As The Icebreaker Slide
Slide 1 This is what I would use as the icebreaker slide. I would use this slide to open the discussion
on what the group thinks the differences between developmental and environmental factors were, as
well as a brief discussion on what the group thinks each topic is about. This is meant to be a group
discussion to get the group comfortable with the training class and get the brain flowing. The rest of
the slides will go into detail on the topics. Slide 2 Twin Studies ENVIRONMENT: Environment can
be shared or non shared in twin studies. When looking at the study, the environment is an important
factor in the results. A shared environment is when the twins are raised in the same home by their
biological parents. They attend the same school ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
FAMILY CRIMINAL HISTORY: Information collected through twin studies show evidence that
heredity is definitely a factor in criminal behavior. However, environment is an important as well. A
study called Twins Early Development Study (TEDS) is a longitudinal twin study that is being closely
watched. The study group consists of twins born between 1994 1996 in Wales and England. This study
is researching problems in language development, cognition, and academics in early childhood and
through adolescence. There have been over 13,000 sets of twins that remain in this study. This study
has shown that environment has a considerable amount of influence over behavior problems and/or
disorders (autism spectrum disorder, ADHD). However, antisocial disorder shows more hereditability
traits. The callous unemotional personality is very strongly inherited. Twin Study of Child and
Adolescent Development (TCHAD), is another longitudinal twin study. This study used the Swedish
Twin Registry to collect a study group of 1,226 twins. The study used a behavioral scale to measure
the aggression in 8 9 year olds, reported by their parents. The 8 years later they asked the children to
report on their aggression. This study found that genetics play a large role in the early onset of
aggression in children, yet seems to play a smaller role in the development of delinquent behavior in
male adolescents. Adoption Studies: There

The Importance Of Immigration To American Culture
The values and beliefs of the Luxembourgers contribute to cross cultural understanding, causing
acceptance by the American society, because of their religions and values of language. In
Luxembourg, the main religion is Roman Catholic. According to Culturegram, in Luxembourg, 87.6%
of the population is Roman Catholic. From the immigrants coming to the U.S.A., 70.4% were Roman
Catholic, according to Human Religions. In America you are able to choose your religion or if you
even have a religion. Human Religions noted on their website that most of the immigrants coming to
the US are from Europe. The website also acknowledged that 25% of European immigrants are
Roman Catholic. With one fourth of the European immigrants being Roman Catholic and

Interview And The Field Experience
The interview and the field experience occurred on the same day of October 28th, 2016 at 6 pm. We
started with the interview and the meditation followed. During the interview process I sat in a dark
room with Michelle and another licensed witch and her avowed costumer David. We started the
process with explaining childhood religion based experiences. When I asked both Michelle and David
what religion they grew up in they both stated they grew up Southern Baptist and converted at an early
age. Michelle recalled a story where she believes she was in Sunday school and immediately felt as
though she was reincarnated and did not belong in the southern baptist religion. However, David grew
up feeling that everything that Southern Baptist believed was wrong or false according to his own set
of beliefs. It should also be noted that David is a Homosexual male, he described growing up in a
strict Southern Baptist household as complete hell and escaping felt like freedom.
We went on to discuss the media and the open mindedness of my generation. I came into Sojourner
thinking I was going to experience crystal balls and a old woman with long white hair, telling me my
future, I was totally wrong. Ironically, Michelle stated that misinterpretations and stereotypes rarely
happen anymore. Being surrounded by college students people are more open minded, stereotypes
come from older people and they reference the media. We continued to sit and discuss different
movies and shows that

On March 21, 2017, Pierce County Emergency Management released funds allocated to Pierce County
Sheriff Department for an advanced search platform.
On April 24, 2017, a purchase request of the Seattle Police Forensic and Digital Imaging Section
advanced workstation was submitted. The procurement of the workstation has not occurred because a
contract doesn t exist between Dynamic Imaging and the City of Seattle. Efforts to reopen the
contract, which was left to expire in 2016, are contingent on the approval of SeaIT. On March 14,
2017, SeaIT partially approved but required a security assessment by SeaIT Security, Risk, and
Compliance Division. On June 15, 2017, the assessment was completed and recommendations were
provided to the project team. The development and negotiation of a service level agreement is
anticipated to take several months to complete. If a vendor contract is not in place before October,
then the purchase of the Seattle Police Forensic and Digital Imaging Section advanced workstation
will not be completed.

Registered Nurse Anesthetists
Service personnel experience a tremendous number of traumatic experiences while in service. These
traumatic experiences include situations such as different forms of explosion, gun battles, vehicle
crashes, helicopter crashes, intense fear, seeing fellow service members dying as well as a feeling of
helplessness (CITE). These are situations that an average American can simply not fathom. Certified
Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) who work with service personnel typically do understand
these traumatic experiences. In this article, Wilson and Pokorny conducted a study to understand the
experiences CRNAs have with service personnel who have traumatic brain injury (TBI) and
posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and are emerging from general anesthesia with emergence
delirium (ED) (CITE). There are no studies in literature that contain information on patients with these
specific problems, which makes this study important. Wilson and Pokorny hope other researchers will
get involved to help learn more about this subject and get the service personnel and CRNAs the
advanced medical help they need.

Arguments Against Same Sex Adoption
What if this was you or your child in the situation, how would you feel? Many people believe in same
sex adoption and believe it should be legal everywhere. But many others think same sex adoption is
wrong and should not be permitted. Many studies have been done for both sides and it all depends on
what you truly believe in. Many people debate whether same sex adoption is right or wrong. But it
shouldn t be about what s right or what s wrong, it should be about the kids in the foster care system
needing a loving family. If a same sex couple will do that, then that s a fight, they are gonna have to
fight. There has been a lot of evidence for both sides, and they both are putting up a good argument.
First of all, homosexuals should be allowed to adopt. The goal of our adoption and foster care systems
is to provide all children with permanent, stable homes with loving and supportive parents, but
discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity and marital status hinders that. State
governments bear discrimination, economic costs, same sex couples are denied the ability to build a
family, and, most importantly, children in need of loving and permanent homes are left in unstable
caregiving situations. Over the years child foster care has increased by a big number. With all these
restrictions on homosexuals trying to adopt children doesn t help the number go down at all. People
are trying to start a family and they can t because people don t believe it s right

The Pros And Cons Of Blue Crabs
This perspective often distorts the view of large crabbing businesses on their harvesting methods
which, although are seemingly humane, are actually very detrimental to the crab population. For
instance, when Hal Herzog, a Professor of Psychology at Western California University, ventured to
Florida s Gulf coast, the crabbers there explained to him the two varieties of crabs which they
harvested; the lucky stone crabs and the unlucky blue crabs (Herzog). The blue crabs were considered
unlucky because they were killed on the spot; however, the stone crabs were considered lucky because
of their ability to regenerate their claws, and so crabbers would simply rip their claws off and then
throw them back into the sea (Herzog). However,

Summary Of Under The Influence Scott Sanders
Reading Response Under the Influence
Under the Influence by Scott Russell Sanders was a gripping story about a family and child that had to
keep a dark secret that their father was an alcoholic. Sanders opens his story by saying, My father
drank as a gasp for breath, as a starving dog gobbles food compulsively, secretly, in pain and
trembling . Pg. 60 When I read those words my stomach turned. It made me think about my ex
husband, he drank the same exact way. I felt the same way Sanders felt, that I had to keep this dark
secret from my family and friends. Sanders went into detail how they would never know what person
would come home from work. Would it be there loving father who was attentive, who was smart, who

The day that they were moving, the movers cracked opened beers and afford one to his father. His
father just could not say no, why should he, after all he hadn t had drink in fifteen years. One drink is
all it took; Sanders father became a drunk again. Sanders mother just could not tell her son that his
father started drinking again. Sanders decided to visit his parents with his family. When they pulled up
he noticed his father was sleeping in the hammock in the middle of the day. He knew right then and
there that his father was drinking again because he would only sleep during the day if he was drunk.
He did not need his mother to tell him that he was drunk, he could smell it, see it in his eyes, he could
hear it in his speech. His wife and daughter asked him what was wrong and that moment he had to
admit to his wife for the first time, that his father is an alcoholic. His father passed away from

the education Mandela received in history class about the peaceful days would later inspire him to

Western Influences on Folk-Custom in Shanghai
Western Influences on Folk custom in Shanghai
The change of Folk custom is an important part of the change of society. As a metropolis in China,
Shanghai combines her own features with many other country s history and culture. As a result, the
Folk customs in Shanghai have changed a lot due to the impact of western culture.
The influences on proprieties
As a traditional city in China, Shanghai paid much attention to the etiquette and custom when people
met together in the old days. At that time, people must make a bow with hands folded in front,
worship on bended knees or pay respects to the others according to their social status. Worship on
bended knees is a posture to show compliment to others, in order to symbolize the rating of ... Show

Gown was the typical old Chinese clothing, while the women wore cheongsams. The abuse of such
clothing was not corresponds to the requirement of equality and did not match the increasing cadence
of life.
So, people in Shanghai began to accept the western clothing. Chemise, overcoat, trousers, shoe
leather, socks were gradually popularized in Shanghais. The western elements in clothing are
increasing day by day.
The influences on diet
There is an ancient Chinese remark still going around like this. Food is the paramount necessity of
people. China is a country with a splendid catering culture. For a very long time, the habit of diet in
Shanghai didn t changed a lot. But as the infiltration of the western culture, the western diet is
introduced to Shanghai, and some western food is becoming more and more popular in Shanghai.
Champagne, tea with milk, carbonated drink, ice cream, bread and cake are widely accepted by people
of Shanghai. This shows that western diet culture has brought about great changes in diet structure in
Shanghai.
All the aspects of folk customs as mentioned upwards can reflect the great impact which is given to
Shanghai by the western culture. The communication between Chinese culture and western culture has
been enhanced and the two kinds of cultures have reached to an amalgamation. Shanghai has absorbed
the elite of western culture, and the society of Shanghai

Should Kids Get Paid For Chores Research Paper
Chores aren t usually easy but do you really think we should get paid? I have lots of chores and I only
get paid for one and it s the hardest. I have to watch my siblings and get them on the bus. I have a very
large home and a lot of animals. It takes a lot of work but I don t need paid for any of it to be honest.
My parents need help with those chores. I still believe children shouldn t be paid for chores. Kids don
t need to be paid for chores. If their parents wanted to pay somebody for chores they would get a
maid. Kids should do what their parents tell them. No one wants to live in a dirty home. It s difficult to
have 3 kids and be the only one cleaning the house. Kids should pick up after themselves. However
kids these days are very lazy.
Parents are under a whole lot of stress. They shouldn t have to all the chores especially when only one
person is doing them and five people are living in the house. When you have children they are part of
the mess of the house if you don t make them clean then the house will most likely look bad. Chores
are a necessity to a good organized life. It s nice when kids get paid for chores but they shouldn t
expect that from their parents. Their parents give them everything. A nice house, clean nice ... Show

concessions or whatever. But the kids sometimes are forced to earn the money themselves if their
parents don t think it s worth that much money for something like beats, an ipod, segway, etc... But
they don t need paid for chores they could just pick up odd jobs like for example: mowing,

Cultural Values Of Bangladesh
Introduction
This report will discuss the cultural values of Bangladesh. The main purpose is putting the Geert
Hofstede s dimensions of culture into practice. The researcher chose Bangladesh due to the following
reason. Recently, I have worked with the Red Cross refugee program. We have a volunteer who used
to be a refugee from Bangladesh. After a difficult time setting up her life, Habiba, now, enjoys her life
in NZ and would like to help other refugees. Her story inspired me to do the study about Bangladesh
culture.
Discussion and Analysis
The five cultural dimensions of Bangladesh will be discussed in this report. Each dimension includes
three questions. The researcher recorded the answers of the volunteer and analysed them in order to
evaluate the cultural values of Bangladesh. These results are compared with Hofstede s theory to have
a true and fair view about this culture.
1. Individualism vs Collectivism
This dimension determines the culture in the term of I or we . Individualism prefers to the society in
which individuals only take care of themselves and their immediate family. In contrast, collectivism
prefers to the the society in which people integrate and share good relationships in groups, and expect
the unquestioning loyalty. (Hofstede, 1991). The three questions related to this dimension are:
Question 1: In your culture, do people have many generations (grandparents, parents and children)
living under one roof?
Answer: Yes, we have many families with

Module Leader/Lecturer: Marc Rose ABSTRACT:
The purpose of this essay is to examine, the notion of music being a part of a deaf individual s life
may seem contradictory, but there is evidence that music is and has been a part of many deaf people s
lives. Music is and has been a part of the Deaf culture, including, but not limited to, Deaf musicians,
utilising music to teach speech. The primary purpose of this thesis was to explore the relation between
Deaf culture and music and examine the role of music in the deaf culture and to relate the findings to
current practices in music education programs for hearing impaired students historically and presently.
We also look at the introduction of sign language interpreters in live vocal music performances as well
pre recorded shows and music videos and also how it is being adopted in the music industry.
Secondary purposes of the study were to accumulate data of ways in which the music industry has
provided for the Deaf Communities by organising concerts and raves for them.

Data: The information provided for this research project came from the General Social Survey, (GSS).
Using IBM s SPSS predictive analytics software I analyzed the data to determine the significance of
these factors. The alcohol variable I used accounted for the number of alcoholic beverages in a given
year (GSS variable DRINKYR ). The other variable tested for significance was marital status (GSS
variable MARITAL ). This method of sampling is considered random probabilistic sampling, as we
should be able to draw a conclusion with our results about the general population using entirely
quantitative data. In examining the data I will be searching for causality to determine the significance
of these factors and whether or not they correlate with over overall quality of mental health. Focal
Relationship: I believe that income will have the highest significance between the three of these
factors, that s why I ve chosen income and mental health as the focal relationship. Two variables are
needed to determine whether or not causality exists between mental health and income. The dependent
variable will be identified as an individual s amount of poor mental health days in the last 30 days
(GSS variable mntlhlth ). This data will be considered interval/ratio due to the close ended survey
question. Answers to the survey were provided in ranked numerical intervals representing the
frequency of respondent s poor mental health days in the past

In Defense Of Apathy
In Defense of Apathy The nice way to put it is blithe or blasé . The blunt way to put it is apathetic . By
and large, apathy is considered the antithesis of human advancement and achievement; Einstein
himself said that the world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but
because of the people who don t do anything about it. And while it is true that absolute apathy
complete lack of concern for anything or anyone is not something that is desired (or even humanly
possible), there is some measure of this attitude that is desperately needed in today s world. All too
often, Einstein s words are taken in the wrong direction. Not all things are worth caring about, not all

Teenage Brain Vs Teen Brain
The brain of the average teen is quite different to that of an adult, which results in many struggles in
action and behavior that is special to teens. Most of the reasons teens act the way they do versus how
adults act can be determined by the brain and its development. These large and important differences
between the brains of adults in teens is why teens act so different from adults. The teen brain is
different from the adult brain because the teenage brain is not yet done maturing. This has been proved
in the article ( Teen Brain... ) where it says that the brain is still growing and maturing in these year
and the amygdala is what develops sooner than the prefrontal cortex ( Teen Brain.., ). So what this
means is that teens actions are guided more by the emotional, amygdala and less by the thoughtful,
and logical prefrontal cortex ( Teen Brain... ).This shows the difference between adult brain and teen
brains because one typically thinks of most adults as logical and rational people and often people think
of teens as kind of crazy or off the rails and irrational. While some of that is simple, the teens
personality, a large part is simply biology. Our bodies are meant to survive so it make sense that we
develop the reaction and fear first but unfortunately now, in modern times, we do not need those
developments first since humans are not trying to survive in a harsh, survival of the fittest centered,
environment any longer, which results in the typical teen with an

DISPARITIES IN PRISON POPULATIONS Although we would like to believe the world is not as

Minorities in these urban areas have a hard time finding employment that could support their family
efficiently. Most end up dropping out of school and join or are forced to join gangs. They are more
likely to turn to crime as a means of survival which increases their chances of building a criminal
history. This type of criminal activity also ties back into the Three Strikes Law (Nicosia, MacDonald,
Arkes. 2013) which states that the offender will be incarcerated on their third offense, no matter how
minor the charge. The lack of rehabilitative resources in the criminal justice system leads to repeat
offenders also. Although it should not be the responsibility of those in society who are doing the right
thing to pay for services for those who are incarcerated, we are doing ourselves an injustice if we don

Accident investigators found that a replacement windscreen had been installed 27 hours before the
flight, and that the procedure had been approved by the Shift Maintenance Manager. 84 of the 90
windscreen retention bolts were 0.026 inches too small in diameter, while the remaining six were 0.1
inches too short ( British airways flight 5390, ). The investigation revealed that the previous
windscreen had been fitted with incorrect bolts, which had been replaced on a like for like basis by the
Shift Maintenance Manager without reference to the maintenance documentation. The air pressure
difference between the cabin and the outside during the flight proved to be too much, leading to the
failure of the windscreen. The incident also brought to attention a design flaw in the aircraft of the
windscreen being secured from the outside of the aircraft, putting a greater stress on the bolts than if
they were secured from the inside. Investigators blamed the British Airways Birmingham Airport Shift
Maintenance Manager for installing the incorrect bolts during the windscreen replacement and for
failing to follow official British Airways policies. They also found fault with British Airways policies,
which should have required testing or verification by another person for this critical task. Finally,
investigators blamed the local Birmingham Airport management for not directly monitoring the

There are several business organizations operating around the world, competition is at its peak,
products and services offered are so closely similar that identifying the difference between them is
difficult, but there is only one way differentiation is made in today s market, in the larger prospective,
and that differentiation is the difference in quality offered. Ali et al., (2010) points, out that the
properties of a service or product that the buyer or user purchases and the value given to it by them is
the quality of that product or service. Koch (2003) suggests that quality is a process of developing a
product or service, building relationship through assessment, anticipation and the fulfillment of the
stakeholders implied needs. It is here where the real market is, real competition, customers, profits,
market share and success lies. Organizations that deliver quality are always desired by their customers.

In teaching or instruction, information and communication technology has both traditional and
authentic uses (Singh and Means, 1994). A traditional use of information and communication
technology is skills reinforcement; for example, students/pupils who need additional practice in
reading might work individually on computers equipped with reading comprehension software
(Osumah, 2003). An authentic use of information and communication technology on the other hand, is
using it as a tool to accomplish a complex task; for example, students who are creating a written report
might use the internet for research, word processing software to write and format the text and
hypermedia software to add images. According to Martin and Ofori Attah (2005), technology is an
area of the curriculum, as well as a tool for teaching and learning, in which teachers must demonstrate
their own awareness and capacity for learning. In other words, for effective and meaningful teaching
in the present information age, the demonstration of teachers awareness and competencies for
instructional use of information and communication technology (ICT) cannot be underscored. If
teachers are aware of the use of ICT in teaching, students/pupils are likely to benefit from their
knowledge. The

How Climate Change Affected Canada
Climate change happens when long term weather patterns are refined. It can be identified in the
changes of temperature, winds, precipitation, and other forms of natural processes. This can occur
through many different factors, one being through human activity. Global warming is one of the main
scales used to measure climate change. For life to be able to continue on Earth, the sun is required.
Solar radiation is reflected back into space, however, small amounts of radiation get trapped in the
Earth s atmosphere, causing a rise of temperature. The atmosphere is composed of delicate gases, the
most important gas being Carbon Dioxide. A main component on Earth is Carbon, which is released

The Battle Of The Second Triumvirate
The Battle of Philippi was the last fought battle of the wars of the second Triumvirate. These wars
were a fight between the forces of Marc Antony and Octavian of the Second Triumvirate, and the
forces of Marcus Junius Brutus and Gaius Cassius Longinus. Brutus and Cassius were the
assassinators of Julius Caesar, Marc Antony and Octavian were very close allies with Julius Caesar
and Octavian would become the heir to his throne after the assassination. Because of this, Marc
Antony and Octavian would wage a war against Brutus and Cassius to avenge their ally Julius Caesar.

With the arrival of Republican admiral Gnaeus Domitus Ahenobarbus, communications back to Italy
were made very difficult because of the large fleet of ships that he brought with him which blockaded
the triumvirate. These fleets of the Liberators did not wish to engage in a physical battle with the
Triumvirate, but only to block their communications with their supply base back in Italy. With this
swarming fleet they were able to outflank the Triumvirate and set up their own defensive positions
forcing Norbanus and Saxa to retreat from their positions moving west giving the Liberators the upper
hand at this spot. Brutus and Cassius were able to gain position on the Via Egnatia on each side with
this fleet. To the north and south were impassable marshes and mountains. Brutus and Cassius then
split their forces each manning a North and South defensive position of the Via Egnatia. After arriving
to the scene, Marc Antony put his troops to the south while Octavian put his troops to the north,
preparing for battle with the Liberators. Marcus Junius Brutus was always known in history as being
too soft of a general. Although he had little successful battle victories in Thrace and Lycia, he had
always been judged as being lacking in authority when it came to the generalship of his troops.
Because of this, Brutus was commonly referred to as a statesman than a military commander. The

Factors And Impacts Of Urbanization
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1. Research Background
In both developed and developing countries of the world, urban centers have been an alternative
center for human settlement and hence, the rate of urbanization is increasing at the turn of this century.
Recent studies indicate that at the beginning of the twentieth century, only 10% of the world s
population lived in urban areas. However, currently, half of the world s population has become urban
dwellers (UNCHS, 2002). This shows that urbanization all over the world is expanding from time to
time and the change has vast implication on the living conditions of the urban society. Due to rapid
urbanization, the concentration of people especially, in cities and towns of developing countries
increasingly aggravated the problem of housing.
A large proportion of residents in cities and towns developed as well as developing countries are
tenants (UN HABITAT, 2003).Urbanization has been the dominant demographic trend in the entire
world during the last half century (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/289971629 accessed 30
November 2017). Demographic variables such as population size, growth rates, and growth levels
have major impacts on the demand for urban social and economic infrastructure (Girma, 2004).
The level of urbanization in the world as a whole was about 46.6 percent in 2000, 50.6 percent in 2010
and it is supposed to reach 57.2 percent in 2025. The corresponding figures for African countries are

Redefining Heroism Throughout The Language Of The Brag

Redefining Heroism in the Language of the Brag
Sharon Olds author of the Language of the Brag, suggests through her experience in the poem that our
society and culture altogether is male dominated towards achievement and focused more for men s
success and heroism. Men are typically known for their strength and courage, especially heroic acts in
society. When things are expected to get done, it s naturally expected for the guy to do it. And through
her use of repetition and tone in the Language of the Brag the author describes certain attributes that
she once lacked to later achieving in the poem. Significantly, Olds uses repetition to make a statement
from I have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is also poetic action depicted in the poem, in which the writer establishes her longing to perform
an act of heroism or extraordinary achievement. I think my biggest surprise was her casual use of
sexual language, using a vibrating cock as a metaphor, and later using the knife reference again saying
she was stabbed in her inner sex. Sharon Olds speaks so fiercely about the woman s body, that you
feel she s almost competing against the constant objectivity against the woman s body. You can tell
she speaks from experience, she s watched the boys play and all she wants is to show them that she
has suffered as a woman and is better for it. She s stronger, prouder, and for that reason has a right to
brag and redefine heroism.
The middle of the poem is crucial because Sharon Olds is able to link heroism to the act of birth. It is
also where the speaker changes her statement from I have wanted to I have. Sharon Olds does this by
using graphic images to emphasize her point in the act of birth. She states, my inner sex/ stabbed again
and again with terrible pain like a knife./ I have lain down./ I have lain down and sweated and shaken/
and passed blood and feces and water and/ slowly alone in the center of a circle I have/ passed the new
person out (lines 19 25). This transition I have wanted to I have is important not only because its
shows the author s new found strength through the process of the act, Olds herself is finally the center

Being A Slave Worthy Of Manhood
Being a Slave Worthy of Manhood In the narrative The Life of Frederick Douglass, it is clear that
Douglas had a very strong option about the differences between men. He did not seem to have the
common out look in the differences between free men and slave, but rather something deeper. He
believed that a slave with out hope or drive for a better life was not a true man, but that a true man was
someone who was able to respect himself and become someone worthy of respect from others.
Throughout, the story of Fredrick Douglass there seems to be many turning points in his journey to
becoming what be defined as a man. Douglass seems to believe that even those men that enslaved him
are not true men, but that man who was enslaved could become true men by gaining respect and
working to better their lot everyday whether enslaved or free. In the beginning of Frederick Douglass s
life he was sent to the city to work for a master there. Here Frederick Douglass shows many attributes
of a strong growing intelligent man. He shows great respect for himself and even makes strives to
better himself as a strong man. He starts by learning his letters from any place in which he is able and
even teaches himself how to read. He seems to respect not only himself, but also the boys around him
that help him to learn and be the man he was. These are the first examples of true positive men in his
life. He never gives a name to these boys but it is clear the respect he holds for them and the gratitude

A person has to really pay attention to the details to see the name. It is pretty hard to drive by and

not lend itself to worship.
Worship
The nature of the worship facility consisted of communion and prayers of forgiveness and faith.
As mass originate, the reverend, who was named Jimmy Orate, and his wife discussed many life
stories with the people. This stage of the worship service lasted a good fifteen to twenty minutes. The
reverend s wife spoke about an abortion that she went through before she found Christ. That abortion
led to her guilt for many years. She had no kind of peace, and credits that to her past non belief in
God. She felt ashamed to speak about the abortion with people, but with the faith in God and Christ,
she was finally able to confront her fear until finally speaking about the issue. She managed to ask for
forgiveness and was finally able to deal with herself. The message associated with this anecdote was
of repentance. In order to have peace and tranquility, a person has to repent from all of past and
current sins.
The reverend also contributed adding the story from Psalm 3 of the Bible in which David fled from his
own son Absalom . Psalm 3 reads like this:

Birth Order And Personality Essay
Researchers in science and psychology alike have pondered whether birth order has an impact on
personality traits. There has been evidence discovered in favor and against this theory. Francis Galton
and Alton Adler were two key men who spearheaded promotion of this theory. Through time, the idea
resonated within the science realm, and it was viewed as factual. Modern researchers however, wanted
more proof to substantiate these claims. What specific factors determine how birth order and
personality mix? With no solid answer readily available, the question remained, is there a link between
birth order and personality? And if so, what is that link? The truth is, there is no link between these

The availability of a system can be expressed through this calculation:
(Actual uptime)/(Expected uptime) ×100%
The result of this calculation is expressed in terms of the number of 9s (see Table A1). This calculation
shows the availability percentage, which is often expressed in number 9 s, and what it means for an
organization in terms of possible uptime or downtime. Because of the nature of the business that
CASH supports, it is imperative for them to have system availability of close to 99.999% (Tuttle,
2012).
In a volatile and technology dependent business climate, downtime, whether it is planned or
unplanned would cost a fortune to the company (Quintero, Finnes, Herrera, Shankar, Sigel, 2010, p.
1). Due to the firm s global presence and business operations being held 24 hours and six days per
week, the downtime during peak hours could mean the loss of revenue for the firm in terms of
millions of dollars per minute. In order to prevent any type of data or connection loss for their clients,
a set of High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR) must be in place for a firm like CASH

4. Name two types of negotiated contracts and describe the method of payment and incentive concept.
Cost + percent of cost is the method of payment which is related to the cost of the job, the larger the
cost of the job the higher the amount of fee that is to be paid by the owner. There is a little incentive to
be efficient and economical in the construction but is subjected to abuse. Cost + fixed fee is paid
regardless of the variation of the reimbursable cost factor. This method gives contractors an incentive
to get the job done as quickly as possible in order to recover his fee over the shortest time frame. 5.
What is meant by unbalancing bid? What type of contract is implied? Give an example of how a bid is
unbalanced. A bid is unbalanced when some contractors use this method to profit greatly on a project.
Contractors do this by changing unit prices of various bid items to the point where the price does not
reflect the true cost of those items. The unit price contract is implied to an unbalancing bid. An
example of how a bid could be unbalanced occurs when a contractor uses the method of unstable
bidding by overbidding in the beginning of the contract in order to reduce his finances and then will
underbid at the end of the project. 6. Why is cost plus a percentage of cost type of contract not used to
a great extent? A cost plus, is a fixed price contract where the contractor paid for all the allowed

The Impact Of Globalization On The Human Culture,...
Globalization is defined by Merriam Webster s dictionary as the development of an increasingly
integrated global economy marked especially by free trade, free flow of capital, and the tapping of
cheaper foreign labor markets. How is can this be applied to communication. Communication is a
fundamental contribution to globalization. Global culture is the infusion of ideas permeate globally
using popular human culture, electronic devices, and commerce. When global culture is partnered with
commerce and technology, communication is at the forefront of globalization.
Globalization is important to establish a free trade market around the world. Free trade is an important
catalyst in globalization. Members within a global trade market have the secure knowledge that,
within responsible and legal trading practices, special taxes will not be placed on imports. The

tasks failed in attempting to escape the loud noise. Other research has also been able to induce learned
helplessness in human participants with different types of

Twin Study of Child and Adolescent Development (TCHAD), is another longitudinal twin study. This study used the Swedish Twin Registry to collect a study group of 1,226 twins. • 4. Interview And The Field Experience The interview and the field experience occurred on the same day of October 28th, 2016 at 6 pm. We started with the interview and the meditation followed. During the interview process I sat in a dark room with Michelle and another licensed witch and her avowed costumer David. We started the process with explaining childhood religion based experiences. When I asked both Michelle and David what religion they grew up in they both stated they grew up Southern Baptist and converted at an early age. Michelle recalled a story where she believes she was in Sunday school and immediately felt as though she was reincarnated and did not belong in the southern baptist religion. However, David grew up feeling that everything that Southern Baptist believed was wrong or false according to his own set of beliefs. It should also be noted that David is a Homosexual male, he described growing up in a strict Southern Baptist household as complete hell and escaping felt like freedom. We went on to discuss the media and the open mindedness of my generation. I came into Sojourner thinking I was going to experience crystal balls and a old woman with long white hair, telling me my future, I was totally wrong. Ironically, Michelle stated that misinterpretations and stereotypes rarely happen anymore. Being surrounded by college students people are more open minded, stereotypes come from older people and they reference the media. We continued to sit and discuss different movies and shows that ... • 8. Arguments Against Same Sex Adoption What if this was you or your child in the situation, how would you feel? Many people believe in same sex adoption and believe it should be legal everywhere. But many others think same sex adoption is wrong and should not be permitted. Many studies have been done for both sides and it all depends on what you truly believe in. Many people debate whether same sex adoption is right or wrong. But it shouldn t be about what s right or what s wrong, it should be about the kids in the foster care system needing a loving family. If a same sex couple will do that, then that s a fight, they are gonna have to fight. There has been a lot of evidence for both sides, and they both are putting up a good argument. First of all, homosexuals should be allowed to adopt. The goal of our adoption and foster care systems is to provide all children with permanent, stable homes with loving and supportive parents, but discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity and marital status hinders that. State governments bear discrimination, economic costs, same sex couples are denied the ability to build a family, and, most importantly, children in need of loving and permanent homes are left in unstable caregiving situations. Over the years child foster care has increased by a big number. With all these restrictions on homosexuals trying to adopt children doesn t help the number go down at all. For instance, when Hal Herzog, a Professor of Psychology at Western California University, ventured to Florida s Gulf coast, the crabbers there explained to him the two varieties of crabs which they harvested; the lucky stone crabs and the unlucky blue crabs (Herzog). The blue crabs were considered unlucky because they were killed on the spot; however, the stone crabs were considered lucky because of their ability to regenerate their claws, and so crabbers would simply rip their claws off and then throw them back into the sea (Herzog). The researcher chose Bangladesh due to the following reason. Recently, I have worked with the Red Cross refugee program. We have a volunteer who used to be a refugee from Bangladesh. After a difficult time setting up her life, Habiba, now, enjoys her life in NZ and would like to help other refugees. Her story inspired me to do the study about Bangladesh culture. Discussion and Analysis The five cultural dimensions of Bangladesh will be discussed in this report. Each dimension includes three questions. The researcher recorded the answers of the volunteer and analysed them in order to evaluate the cultural values of Bangladesh. These results are compared with Hofstede s theory to have a true and fair view about this culture. 1. Individualism vs Collectivism This dimension determines the culture in the term of I or we . Individualism prefers to the society in which individuals only take care of themselves and their immediate family. In contrast, collectivism prefers to the the society in which people integrate and share good relationships in groups, and expect the unquestioning loyalty. (Hofstede, 1991). The other variable tested for significance was marital status (GSS variable MARITAL ). This method of sampling is considered random probabilistic sampling, as we should be able to draw a conclusion with our results about the general population using entirely quantitative data. In examining the data I will be searching for causality to determine the significance of these factors and whether or not they correlate with over overall quality of mental health. • 22. Teenage Brain Vs Teen Brain The brain of the average teen is quite different to that of an adult, which results in many struggles in action and behavior that is special to teens. Most of the reasons teens act the way they do versus how adults act can be determined by the brain and its development. These large and important differences between the brains of adults in teens is why teens act so different from adults. The teen brain is different from the adult brain because the teenage brain is not yet done maturing. This has been proved in the article ( Teen Brain... ) where it says that the brain is still growing and maturing in these year and the amygdala is what develops sooner than the prefrontal cortex ( Teen Brain.., ). So what this means is that teens actions are guided more by the emotional, amygdala and less by the thoughtful, and logical prefrontal cortex ( Teen Brain... ).This shows the difference between adult brain and teen brains because one typically thinks of most adults as logical and rational people and often people think of teens as kind of crazy or off the rails and irrational. While some of that is simple, the teens personality, a large part is simply biology. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In teaching or instruction, information and communication technology has both traditional and authentic uses (Singh and Means, 1994). A traditional use of information and communication technology is skills reinforcement; for example, students/pupils who need additional practice in reading might work individually on computers equipped with reading comprehension software (Osumah, 2003). An authentic use of information and communication technology on the other hand, is using it as a tool to accomplish a complex task; for example, students who are creating a written report might use the internet for research, word processing software to write and format the text and hypermedia software to add images. According to Martin and Ofori Attah (2005), technology is an area of the curriculum, as well as a tool for teaching and learning, in which teachers must demonstrate their own awareness and capacity for learning. In other words, for effective and meaningful teaching in the present information age, the demonstration of teachers awareness and competencies for instructional use of information and communication technology (ICT) cannot be underscored. If teachers are aware of the use of ICT in teaching, students/pupils are likely to benefit from their knowledge. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With the arrival of Republican admiral Gnaeus Domitus Ahenobarbus, communications back to Italy were made very difficult because of the large fleet of ships that he brought with him which blockaded the triumvirate. These fleets of the Liberators did not wish to engage in a physical battle with the Triumvirate, but only to block their communications with their supply base back in Italy. With this swarming fleet they were able to outflank the Triumvirate and set up their own defensive positions forcing Norbanus and Saxa to retreat from their positions moving west giving the Liberators the upper hand at this spot. Brutus and Cassius were able to gain position on the Via Egnatia on each side with this fleet. To the north and south were impassable marshes and mountains. Brutus and Cassius then split their forces each manning a North and South defensive position of the Via Egnatia. After arriving to the scene, Marc Antony put his troops to the south while Octavian put his troops to the north, preparing for battle with the Liberators. • 31. Factors And Impacts Of Urbanization CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION 1.1. Research Background In both developed and developing countries of the world, urban centers have been an alternative center for human settlement and hence, the rate of urbanization is increasing at the turn of this century. Recent studies indicate that at the beginning of the twentieth century, only 10% of the world s population lived in urban areas. However, currently, half of the world s population has become urban dwellers (UNCHS, 2002). This shows that urbanization all over the world is expanding from time to time and the change has vast implication on the living conditions of the urban society. Due to rapid urbanization, the concentration of people especially, in cities and towns of developing countries increasingly aggravated the problem of housing. A large proportion of residents in cities and towns developed as well as developing countries are tenants (UN HABITAT, 2003).Urbanization has been the dominant demographic trend in the entire world during the last half century (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/289971629 accessed 30 November 2017). Demographic variables such as population size, growth rates, and growth levels have major impacts on the demand for urban social and economic infrastructure (Girma, 2004). The level of urbanization in the world as a whole was about 46.6 percent in 2000, 50.6 percent in 2010 and it is supposed to reach 57.2 percent in 2025. Men are typically known for their strength and courage, especially heroic acts in society. When things are expected to get done, it s naturally expected for the guy to do it. There is also poetic action depicted in the poem, in which the writer establishes her longing to perform an act of heroism or extraordinary achievement. I think my biggest surprise was her casual use of sexual language, using a vibrating cock as a metaphor, and later using the knife reference again saying she was stabbed in her inner sex. Sharon Olds speaks so fiercely about the woman s body, that you feel she s almost competing against the constant objectivity against the woman s body. You can tell she speaks from experience, she s watched the boys play and all she wants is to show them that she has suffered as a woman and is better for it. She s stronger, prouder, and for that reason has a right to brag and redefine heroism. The middle of the poem is crucial because Sharon Olds is able to link heroism to the act of birth. It is also where the speaker changes her statement from I have wanted to I have. Sharon Olds does this by using graphic images to emphasize her point in the act of birth. She states, my inner sex/ stabbed again and again with terrible pain like a knife./ I have lain down./ I have lain down and sweated and shaken/ and passed blood and feces and water and/ slowly alone in the center of a circle I have/ passed the new person out (lines 19 25). Worship The nature of the worship facility consisted of communion and prayers of forgiveness and faith. As mass originate, the reverend, who was named Jimmy Orate, and his wife discussed many life stories with the people. This stage of the worship service lasted a good fifteen to twenty minutes. The reverend s wife spoke about an abortion that she went through before she found Christ. That abortion led to her guilt for many years. She had no kind of peace, and credits that to her past non belief in God. She felt ashamed to speak about the abortion with people, but with the faith in God and Christ, she was finally able to confront her fear until finally speaking about the issue. She managed to ask for forgiveness and was finally able to deal with herself. The message associated with this anecdote was of repentance. In order to have peace and tranquility, a person has to repent from all of past and current sins. The reverend also contributed adding the story from Psalm 3 of the Bible in which David fled from his own son Absalom . Psalm 3 reads like this:

This theory shows that having some control over our lives is preferable to no control at all. Based on many experiments done by Seligman, controllability determines if one is suffering from learned helplessness. Animals exposed to unavoidable shock showed passivity, in which Seligman felt in line with the typical behaviour of depression. Other similar symptom were lack of appetite and weight loss (Rehm, 1990). However, one part of learned helplessness that did not occur in animals was the process of demonstrating learned helplessness through vicarious learning (Bandura, 1986).
