Lowe s Argumentative Essay
Thank you for taking the time to listen to my complaints and for performing a walk through at the
project site. As I mentioned during our phone conversation, on August 2014, Carmen Alfonso entered
into a contract with Lowe s to renovate two bathrooms at 14817 SW 175th Street, Miami, Florida
33187 Unfortunately, I m disappointed with how long it has taken Lowe s to complete the renovation
and furthermore all the setbacks encountered. The renovation commenced 2 years 6 months ago, four
different contract companies and there are still outstanding issues, including but not limited to a water
leak located in the small bathroom. On February 2015, shortly after the tiles were installed, brown
stains randomly began appearing on the floor grout. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, the brown stain resurfaced two more times and remediated two more times. Obviously,
this issue was not the result of a chemical reaction as initially concluded by GC # 1 and 2, but
something more profound. When the fourth GC (Jerson) was onboarded to remediate the outstanding
issues, the brown stain issue was one of the items on the punch list. During the initial walk though,
Jerson removed the grout that had the brown stain and found evidence of water on the cement
underneath the tile. On January 3, 2017 the contractors removed the toilet and ripped out several floor
tiles with the intent of identifying water leak. Once the area was exposed the leak was not apparent
and therefore required a more in depth research according to the GC perhaps breaking the floor to
again access to the pipes thus, requiring Lowe s approval before proceeding. The GC informed me that
he would meet with Lowe s to propose his recommendations and that I should hear back from them in
the next couple of day. On January 9th, as I waited to hear back from Lowe s regarding the next steps
the contactors arrived at the house unannounced to install the

Create Places Research Paper
Seth Johnson Nathan Clough Geo 1304 Reading Response 5 For decades, many researches have
attempted to explain the traits of groups and furthermore describe how humans create places through
their culture. They have made an effort to look at patterns of people on how they give meaning to the
land and environment around them. Researches explore different places viewing the way humans use
nature within their everyday life and what defines them. More specifically, they investigate how
common people can use the same land but in different ways and behaviors. To go further in depth,

Critical Review On Mental Illness
A Critical Review of Young, T., Fuller, J., Riley B. (2008), One scene Mental Health Training
Provided through Police Departments, Journal of Mental Health Counseling Volume 30/Number

Literature Review
As a significant increase in police contact with people with mental illness has a raised, proper training
and inpatient services have decreased in the growing needs of individuals suffering mental health
emergencies. Shown in the disproportionate arrest and incarceration of people with mental illness,
which is a huge concern for policymakers, communities and law enforcement agencies. With police

Most importantly, a training model must provide a detailed program for officers to follow, which the
CIT model is one such strategy. One of the key aspects of the crisis intervention model is the fostering
a relationship between law enforcement and mental health professionals (Tucker, Van Hasselt, Russell,
2008). Hinging on the fact that law enforcement administrators and officers must be willing to
perform the groundwork to meet the needs of the mental health community and vice versa.
Jail diversion initiatives hinge on the availability of mental health services and practitioners. The
further away these services are geographically, the more logistical challenges exist to implement a
successful program. These issues are less common in metropolitan areas than in largely rural areas
(Sirotich, 2009).

Accommodation Packet
What happens to the IEP? How do I get an Accommodation Packet?
Once students are accepted they should contact their post secondary settings Disability Services Office
(ideally this is done prior to the start of the semester to ensure necessary supports are implemented at
the beginning of the year). Students will not receive services if they do not advocate for their
educational needs. They must submit adequate documentation of their disability (IEPs, educational
testing, etc.). The Disability Office then reviews the documentation to determine eligibility. Students
meet with Disability Service staff to create an Accommodation Package, which takes the place of an
IEP. During this time, students can advocate for their needs by discussing supports that they benefitted
from in the past. Oftentimes, Disability Services will assist students in course selection and can advise
them on specific accommodations for varying subjects or courses.

What Happens When Relationship Building Strategies Do Not...
Relationship Building
When in a leadership position, building relationships is an important aspect. These relationships create
a network that can be used in times of need, creating change, and increase overall confidence between
yourself and your peers, clients, leaders, and subordinates. Throughout this week s reading we learned
about the many relationship building strategies. This journal will outline my relationship building
strategies, both within and outside work situations, and what happens when my strategies do not work.
Relationship Building
Relationship building is something that a political navigator has no trouble doing. They know which

As a new leader these strategies are ones that I will have to work on before I fully employ them. Two
of these strategies that would work best with me are developing mutual interests with clients and
becoming a collaborator (Gilley, 2006). Developing interests with clients allows me to ask open ended
questions that help to search for common interests. These interests help build rapport, which can help
me develop new ideas or improvements for the organization. Becoming a collaborator includes
tailoring interactions to the audience (Gilley, 2006). I am constantly doing this because not everyone is
going to react the same way, want the same information, or care about the subject. When common
interests are found the relationship and interaction between myself and others will become more
productive or meaningful.
Outside Situations
All of these strategies can be used outside of work as well. This, I believe, is because humans need
interactions and relationships to be happy. One does not have to be cut and dry at all times. It is
finding a balance between professionalism and normalcy. Understanding the common interest between
yourself and those around you, will help to increase the quality of time being spent with others. While
one does not need to be politically savvy around their non work friends, it can improve their thoughts
toward you and your family. Observing your

Application Verification Calibration Circuit For Workstations
Our capstone project, DDR4 INTERFACE DESIGN VERIFICATON FOR SERVERS aims at the
design verification calibration circuit for high speed interfaces for memory subsystems. These
interfaces allow for data transfer to and from the memory to facilitate interoperability. During the
initial phase, we thoroughly studied the unique features and requirements of DDR4, the latest and
fastest version of Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) and the implications of those factors
for controller and physical layer design. In this project, my initial focus was on the physical layer that
connects the DDR4 memory to its controller. After an extensive literature review, I narrowed my focus
to the design and verification of calibration circuit, which is going to be used to calibrate resistance
and slew rate of drivers at IO buffers to provide better communication with external devices. 2.1.
Overview The DDR4 memory works at twice the data rate of its predecessors. This is facilitated by
the physical layer, which needs to be capable of reliably handling twice the data rate than it did with
the previous version of DRAM, DDR3. At the integrated circuits level, several changes have been
made to allow for this. Owing to these changes in specifications, the DDR4 subsystem is capable of
achieving the doubled data rates at a lower power consumption allowing for prolonged battery life in
devices employing this

Tom Robinson Character Analysis Essay
Life is pack full of choices that test an individual s nobility. To be unique and true to oneself, an
individual must rise above the influence. In Harper Lee s To Kill A Mockingbird, There are many
choices to make regarding the character s virtues or their reputation. Dolphus Raymond enjoys
spending time with his family in privacy rather than being bothered. Atticus Finch and Tom Robinson
both believe in benevolence instead of acting in a violent way and conform to stereotypes. When an
individual is faced with societal pressures or being themselves, then they must stand their ground
because if they do not, they will be going against their morals. Tom Robinson is full of integrity and
honesty and will not let any negative stereotypes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He spends his time with coloured folks in town and at home because as Jem Finch explains, He likes
em better n he likes us. Raymond Dolphus did not care about the colour of a person s skin at a time
when segregation and racism were prominent. If being an outcast is the only way to be with the people
he loves, he will accept. When Mr. Raymond comes to town, he is often seen accompanied by a bottle
in a brown paper bag. The bottle is speculated to be whisky but Jem, Scout, and Dill learn that Mr.
Raymond is only drinking Coca Cola. The children ask why he lies to the public about being a
drunkard and he tells them, It ain t honest but it sure helps[...] Dolphus Raymond is ahead of the time
he lives in and does not want to be bothered for it. He chooses to be viewed as a man who cannot stay
sober enough to realize the situation he is in. If the town of Maycomb knew Mr. Dolphus is not in fact
constantly intoxicated, there would be outrage around his lifestyle, consequently Raymond would not
receive the peace and quiet he yearns for. His philosophy around this is that if people are going to
judge and think bad of him anyway, he might as well do something to ease their minds when they ask
themselves how a white man can live the way he does. The Finch children and Dill make a point that
Mr. Raymond comes from a wealthy family and surely has the means to live somewhere nicer than the
outskirts of town with the coloured people. Still curious, they ask why he

Pre bid meetings can be held after the RFP s are issued and prior to the bid due date. Pre bid meetings
may be referred to with other titles in RFP s such as a pre proposal conference in government RFP s. If
an owner intends to have a pre bid meeting, the Instructions provide the location, date, and time of the
meeting. The Instructions may also describe the purpose of the meeting and how answers to questions
from bidders will be handled. The answers to the questions from bidders are normally handled in a
formal manner since they are a supplement to the information provided in the RFP.
1.6. Owner Contact for Questions
It is important that an owner designate one individual to act as the contact person for questions from
bidders during the bid period. This organizational approach assures that questions are handled in a
consistent manner and that all bidders receive the same answers to questions. The answers to
individual questions from bidders during the bid period that are not responded to at a pre bid meeting
are also important supplemental information to the original RFP. The procurement group
representative assigned to a contract is often the designated contact person for an owner. The

The movie follows Jack Torrance, a struggling writer and his family as Jack becomes the winter care

The United States And The Euro Area
The United States and the euro area are the top two largest economies in the world. This paper is a
brief comparison of the central banking systems of the two economies. The paper starts by introducing
historical background for the two central banking systems to be established. It then continues to
analysis similarities and differences between two central bank system s organizational structures.
Moreover, the paper will also compare monetary policy frameworks of the two systems in terms of
monetary policy making organization, objective, transparency, accountability, and strategies.
History
The Federal Reserve System In 1791, U.S. Congress established the First Bank of the United States,
headquartered in Philadelphia in response to the rapidly inflated paper money continentals . However,
Congress refused to renew the bank s charter in 1811 because many Americans then were
uncomfortable with the idea of a large and powerful bank. By 1816, the idea of a central bank was
once again aroused; by a narrow margin, Congress agreed to charter the Second Bank of the United
States. But the Second Bank s charter expired in 1836 without a renewal neither. During the Free Bank
Era (1836 1865), risks of financial crisis accumulated. In 1893, a banking panic triggered the worst
depression the United States had ever seen, and in 1907, a bout of speculation on Wall Street ended in
failure, triggering a particularly severe banking panic. On December 23, 1913, President Woodrow

alcohol offenses than their community matched pairs (Chen et. al, 2013). They also proposed that
adolescents who are male, minority, and neglect victims are at the greatest risk of being arrested for
juvenile drug and alcohol offenses. This is concurrent with my position that neglected children are at
an increased risk for juvenile delinquency. The study utilized data and findings from the Childhood

youth who had been abused or neglected as children were more likely to be arrested as juveniles (27

versus 14 percent) than a comparable control group of young people with no comparable history of
abuse or neglect. In the early study by Widom, the researcher followed children who had been abused
and/or neglected approximately 25 years earlier through an examination of official criminal records,
then compared them with a matched control group of children of the same age, sex, race, and

A Documentary On Tattoos And How They Affect Human...
I conducted a survey and three interviews to create a documentary on tattoos and how they affect
human relationships and interactions. This paper is an analysis of what it takes to make a
documentary. Documentary originates from the word document which means a film or article that
records factual information. Documentary means to present facts objectively without editing and
adding fictional information (Stott 6). Some of the first documents are from Benjamin Glassberg in
1938 and Saunders Redding 1951 before the word documentary was even created (Stott 6). At first, a
documentary was known as a human document because it had emotional ties to the information
though it was factual information (Stott 7). Emotion itself is completely subjective because not every
person in the world will have the same emotion to the same event. Thus giving birth to two different
kinds of documentaries official and human. In 1938, photography was introduced into the world of
documentaries by providing photographic proof of factual information. This brought about a bigger
war between objective and subjective documentaries because along with photos came more emotion
(Stott 11). How could an author of an official documentary choose photos without any bias? All this
information made me want to challenge myself and make an objective documentary on tattoos. I
personally have tattoos and plan on obtaining more so the challenge here is to take information
attained and record it without any of my own

Nlrb On Behalf Of Mrs. Dawn Vs. American Medical Response...
Case Title : NLRB on behalf of Mrs. Dawn vs. American Medical Response of Connecticut Company
Case number: 34 CA 012576 Date Opened: 01/19/2010 Status: closed Presentation of the Case The
case filed by NLRB was between the American Medical Response of Connecticut in New Haven and
one of their employees called Mrs. Dawn. Upon verbal disagreement with her supervisor, Mrs. Dawn
posted a negative remark on her private facebook wall about the supervisor. The remark attracted
comments from her staff mates. On reporting to work the following day, she was suspended and later
fired. The company argued that her act was a violation of their internet policy by criticizing her
overseer online. The Hartford NLRB office filed a complaint of unlawful dismissal of Mrs. Dawn
stating that the party was involved in protected concerted activity on Facebook at the time when she
criticized her senior. In addition, NLRB identified several unlawful provisions within the company s
manual of conduct. However, before hearing, the company opted for an out of court settlement with
Mrs. Dawn besides revising their unlawful provisions in their handbook. Rationale of the NLRB
Decision I agree with NLRB s decision since Dawn activity can be classified as a concerted activity.
Reflectively, a concerted activity is that which involves an employee expressing views t other
employees with the intention of either criticizing or suggesting an alternative response to mistreatment

Essay on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea Some time ago, I decided to read Twenty Thousand Leagues
under the Sea, by Jules Verne. I figured that because it was so well known it must be an extremely
interesting book. In addition, it was science fiction, the one area that I was always interested. My
assumption was only partially correct, for I only was to a degree interested in the piece of writing.
When Jules Verne was writing this book, he must have been reading some incredibly dull science
book the day before, for that was what the book was written as. The style of writing was utterly
against my tastes, and though the plot was moderately interesting, the style of writing really ruined it.

Captain Nemo was attempting to access the South Pole. That meant passing the Great Ice Barrier, and

The Uniform Resource Locator ( Url ) Essay
These days if we see any business whether it is a small or a big but all of them should have online
existence. And these data online can be stored through a web site or a web page. The user wishing to
access this information will then search for it, but there are billions of web sites and web pages. How
will one be able to search for the specific web page or website? So there should be a specific name,
number or name tag through which we can differentiate all websites and web pages. The URL plays
the same role as the name or identity of a web page or website. Basically a URL is one type of
uniform resource identifier (URI); the generic term for all types of names and address that refers to
objects on the World Wide Web. There is a specific format of URL. We can also say URL as a web
address. The uniform resource locator (URL) was developed by Tim Berners Lee in 1994 and the
Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) URI working group. The URL format is specified in RFC
1738 Uniform Resource Locator (URL). Every domain name has a suffix that indicates which top
level domain (TLD) it belongs to. There are only a limited number of such domains. For example:

safeguarding of society and information in the public eye; the Memorabilia gathered in the library at
the religious community of the Request of Leibowitz speak to the aggregate learning of humanity. The

Of God and Nature
Gloria Omole
1. There are two books that give me my divine stance: the one God wrote himself (scripture) and the
alternative for those who don t seek the bible (nature). Those who have not seen his teachings
firsthand know of him through his scripture. 2. The sun caused the ones that know him through
scripture to appreciate him; it was a miracle that was to be taken note of above all his other miracles 3.
The pagans knew how to read the word better than Christians themselves, although they read less into
it then those with faith do. 4. I do not forget to give God credit for nature, which is not the foundation
of motion and rest, but the normal pace of mankind. 5. Every new day is marked by the revolution of

This simile puts the position of God into perspective, as a master Creator. | ...For God is like a skillful
geometrician, who, when more easily and with one stroke of his compass he might describe or divide
a right line, has yet rather do this in a circle or longer way, according to the constituted and fore laid
principles of his art | Imagery | The author develops an image of a elder, meticulously constructing a
plan to create something beautiful. I | I cannot tell by what logic we call a toad, a bear, or an elephant
ugly; they being created in those outward shapes and figures which beat express the actions of their of
inward forms, and having passed that general visitation of God... | Tone | The concept in which things
that are seemingly deformed or aesthetically challenging is ugly should be considered absurd, since
everything made on the planet, and everything God created is beautiful. The tone is one of
admonition, since the author believes it is illogical to call something ugly if it was created by God |
Thus there are two books from whence I collect divinity; besides that one written by God, another of
his servant nature, that universal and public manuscript that lies expansed unto the eyes of all... |

Guernica, By Pablo Picasso
Guernica by Pablo Picasso was a black and white, mural oil painting created in June of 1937 on a 349
cm × 776 cm (137.4 in × 305.5 in) canvas. The piece represents the chaos that flooded the Spanish
town of Guernica after a vicious bombing by the German and Italian forces during the Spanish Civil
War. What followed was a senseless slaughter and bloodshed with the primary focus being the
demoralization of the Basque people. The painting depicts suffering people, animals, and buildings
wrenched by violence and chaos. On the far left, there is a bull standing over what appears to be a
woman grieving over a dead child, held in her arms. On the far right we see a figure entrapped by
flames. The shape of his hand suggests that of an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Picasso plays with shadows and contrast to not only give the painting depth, but also as a form of
symbolism between the darkness and gloom of the massacre and the light peaking through cracks
which represents hope that is unattainable. The contrast also adds emphasis on areas of focus such as
with the bull at the far left and the floating head. Lines are also used for this purpose, as they direct the
viewers eye primarily to the horse near the center of the painting. There are many subtle hidden
messages within this piece that leave a haunting impression on the viewer. The bull and horse are both
essential parts of Spanish culture and play important roles in the meaning of this painting. They
illustrate both the brutalization and dehumanization of humanity during wartime, as well as the
animalistic response that all living things experience when coming into close proximity with fear and
death. Furthermore, the bull represents Spain itself, which still stands, triumphant and peaceful after
such a brutal and horrendous act of violence. The overall attitude of the painting however is less
optimistic, with brutality and chaos being the general tone. The dove inscribed in the wall represents
lost hope, as well as the glimmers of light coming in between the crack of the walls. The broken sword
and flower growing from the dismembered hand represents the birth and death of life at the hands of
humanity. The main

The Book Of Job Controversy
The text The Book of Job, interpreted and translated by Stephen Mitchell, raises great controversy in
the world of righteousness. It is a well known, universal text, and with each new interpreter who
translates, there is a new version of the story brought to the surface. William Blake partakes in this
conflict of ideas through his artwork rather than his writing. His art reflects his own personal view of
the text and has both similar and differentiating opinions than Mitchell s own on the key events in the
book. Narrowing it down to Blake s ideas behind the scene depicted in Figure A alongside Mitchell s
in the text, it is a perfect demonstration of the two interpretations clashing and blending their ideas.
Starting with Mitchell s written ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By directing the attention onto not only the main illustration, but also the art located on the border, one
is able to further deduce Blake s interpretation. Shown in Figure A, directly under the main illustration
there appears to be two birds, a crow and an owl, in some sort of quarrel. Based on the context of the
dispute happening in the main illustration, it is safe to assume that these birds represent the opposing
sides of the argument. The crow, appearing more aggravated, shows more correlation to the three
friend s side, and the owl, while alarmed but not nearly as aggressive looking, leans more towards Job
s. The crow is a common symbol of evil, bad luck, and even death. If Blake drew the connection from
the crow to the three friends, then it can be inferred that Blake has a rather negative outlook on them
and their side of this fight. Rather than looking into the logic behind it, Blake seems to base his
interpretation of these characters on their words and actions from the text, which paint them as truly
terrible acquaintances. In order to further depict this, Blake illustrates the three friends in the most
judgemental fashion: lined up together, all with their pointer fingers outstretched in accusation
towards Job. Their expressions do not fall short of condemning or angry. Job on the other hand,
connected to the owl, is seen as a wise man in Blake s eyes. At the very least, Blake agrees with Job s
reasoning and sticks to the wise side of the is Job a wise man debate. Job himself also gives way to
Blake s thoughts through his body language in the illustration. Eyes cast to the heavens, palms faced
out in a questionly manner, his look of grief and questioning directly portrays Blake s vision of Job s
immense suffering. This theme of suffering once again connects to the border of the print. The
desperate looking humanoid figures bound by chains lead to the conclusion that Blake overemphasizes

Strategic Management Of Tesco
Established in 1919 by Jack Cohen from a market stall in London s East End, Tesco has grown and
became the leading multinational retailer in the UK with a wide range of products. Tesco s operations
in the UK are the largest within Tesco PLC (Tesco, 2014). The success of Tesco lies in its strategic
management. This analysis will look into Tesco s business in the UK by following a structure of four
main parts: Tesco s value chain management; Tesco s important stakeholders and its managing them;
Tesco s attempt in competing with other rivals and finally, potential international opportunities for
Tesco to get more profit.
The value chain identifies where the value is added in an organization and links the process with the

When shopping at Tesco, customers can compare prices of Tesco products with ones of Asda,
Sainsbury and Morrisons. If the products are cheaper there, customers will be given a coupon. Tesco
gets the prices for customers to compare from taking daily prices from Asda.com grocery website,
Sainsburys.co.uk website and using an independent agency to visit Morrison s store twice a week.
(Tesco, 2014). Besides, Tesco takes advantage of technology to attract more customers by introducing
their own tablet called Hudl and mobile apps that can be used for online shopping, viewing movies
and other Tesco branded services. Hudl cost about £119 a competitive price for such a multifunctional
equipment. (Forbes, 2013) By taking technology as a platform to develop business, Tesco created a
marketing strategy without too much cost. According to Tesco (2014), Tesco wholly owns

A Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
In the world of sex, drugs, and baby cloning you are going to be in many situations where you feel
like the world we live in should be different. In the story Brave New World, they had sex with
multiple partners along with a very bad use of drugs.
It is weird that Aldous Huxley wrote this book in 1931 about the world he was living in during that
time and how it is similar to the world we live in today. Nowadays, drugs are still being used and
people are still engaging in sexual encounters with multiple partners. Things are no different than they
use to be. People still to this day are using drugs and committing adultery as if there aren t any
diseases out there. In the story they introduced a drug named Soma. This particular drug was the
narcotic they used to escape the world they lived in.
Aldous Huxley did not like being in London because he felt the people there were basically all the
same. Aldous Huxley was characterized by people as being very weird to people because he didn t like
to do the things they did. He became so weird to people that the press and news reporters became
interested in talking to him in order to find out more about him. I have a connection with this
particular story because the world I m living in today is based on the same things he described.
Sex is the main thing teenagers care about nowadays. In my generation kids look at you funny or think
you are weird if you do not have sex or have sex as often as they do. It seems as if people

Activity 1.1.2 Investigating Basic Circuits (DLB)
Introduction
What is an electrical circuit? How can you manipulate components and design a circuit that will do
what you want it to? This guided activity will introduce you to some components, tools, and concepts
that are fundamental in electronics. It will allow you to investigate and discover:
What are voltage, current, and resistance? How are they related to one another?
What are some of the basic components that make up simple circuits and what do they do?
What are the important characteristics of a circuit and how do I measure different parts of a circuit?
How do I measure voltage in a circuit?
How does the arrangement of components affect the characteristics of the circuit?
How do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the DMM can handle this amount of current, you must learn how to use the ammeter portion of
the DMM properly to protect it from blowing a fuse. Shorting voltage sources is dangerous and can
damage the DMM.
Part B: Series and Parallel Circuits 9. These two identical 330Ω resistors are in series with each other.
There is only one path through the circuit from the power source to the ground. In this diagram, the
power source is a 9V battery. One end of the battery has 9V of potential to do work (positive terminal
top). The other end of the battery has zero potential to do work (negative terminal/ground bottom).
(a) Based on your observations, what would you expect the voltage read if you touched the DMM
across both R1 and R2?
(b) Due to the fact that R1 and R2 are identical, what would you guess is the voltage across each
resistor is individually? Why?
(c) We can actually replace these two resistors with one resistor that would have the same impact on
the circuit. (This theoretical resistor is called an equivalent resistor). What would the value of this
equivalent resistor have to be in Ohms (Ω)?
10. Create this series circuit on your breadboard. With both LEDs illuminated, remove one of the
LEDs from the circuit path. What happened and why?
11. You can try 3 LEDs in series but none will light up. Why do you think that is?
12. Components in a circuit can also be arranged in parallel.

Japanese American Detainment Camps
Although World War Two began in 1939, the United States did not enter the conflict until 1941. The
country s entrance into the war was caused by the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. After the
attack the government had suspicion that the Japanese Americans were spies. So, congress passed the
Executive order 9066, stating all Japanese Americans would be relocated to detainment camps. They
remained in these camps for two years. Japanese Americans faced many difficulties in the detainment
camps. After the bombing America saw the west Coast as the most vulnerable for more attacks
because they had such a high population of citizens with Japanese descent. Due to the high population,
rumors and fear spread like wildfire that the Japanese Americans

Emory Women s Swim Team
Currently, the group that I most often interact with is the Emory women s and men s swim team.
Around campus, the swim team is known for its cult like habits. We are such a large group that we
tend to solely interact with one another and when we are all together, our energy can be
overwhelming. As a large group, there are many different influences that separate, but also, bring us
together. A group is considered two or more people that meet a collection of requirements.
Membership refers to having some way to determine who is in and who is out of the group, in our case
that means being a part of the Emory men s and women s swim team. Next, the members must have
common goals, formal or informal. Our formal goal is very clear: to win meets, ... Show more content

Structural power dynamics prove significantly less important for relational outcomes than perceptions
of shared responsibility (Collett Avelis 2011: 249). We have a clear structure, but we decide as a group
what our specific goals will be each season, we agree on specific norms as a team, and we collectively
enforce these norms. While everyone has a say in these processes, they are still lead by the captains. In
everything we do, everyone takes some of the responsibility, but there is also always a clear status
structure. This is an interesting characteristic of our team. It s a bit contradictory to say that we are all
equal yet there is a strong social structure, but it s true. One thing we like to say is that the group
makes the whole better. This is a great summarization of our team dynamics. We work together, and
become one so that we can individually excel, and when we individually excel, the group as a whole
excels. Overall, the swim team is an excellent example of how a group can have a rigorous status
structure while also demonstrating group

The Search for Enlightenment Essay
The Search for Enlightenment
Nature, I think we can deduce, refers not only to animals, plants, and mountains, but rather to the
universe as a whole the entirety of the physical universe ranging from human nature to quantum
nature while also including, plants, animals, and mountains as part of this greater whole. It has been
the search for knowledge and truths of the wonders and mysteries of nature, or rather the universe (in
other words science) that has, over the past few years been the underlying motivation in my life. Not
only do I find the search for knowledge exciting and intellectually stimulating, but I have found that
this motivation gives meaning or rather a direction to my life. I don t wish to imply that science and ...

This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the purpose of science and one that I disagree with. Instead
my drive for competency has made science seem attractive, not because it tries to replace God and
metaphysical ideology, but rather that it explains the universe without having to rely on untestable
assumptions (which we can t know to be true) about how the universe should or would make sense to
be. As I believe that there is no God or transcendental explanation for life or the cosmos, I aspire to
understand human behavior, not in terms of metaphysical and transcendental explanations, but rather
in an empirical approach based on logic, reason, and the consiliecnce (Wilson 1998, p.8) of the
sciences and knowledge.
Yet, my innate desire for competence leads to another important motivation that affects my being, that
is the quest for authenticism. To be authentic, I refer to being original, honest about my thoughts to
myself and others; aware and skeptical of the motivation and assumptions of culture and society;
attempting to recognize and dissect assumptions of my creation and that of culture and societies; being
able to relate to others; and finally, being hyper conscious of myself. By hyper conscious, I refer to the
state of consciousness deeper than that of awareness of one s existence, that being the awareness of
one s motivations the constant introspection, thought, and questioning of one s actions and

The Atomic Bomb Of Hiroshima And Nagasaki
The Atomic Bomb
After World War I, no one, not even the Head of Chemical Warfare, suspected such a weapon would
be dropped on civilians in the near future. Prior to the development of the atomic bomb in World War
II, gas bombing and incendiary bombing were prevalent (Rotter 5). The race to create nuclear
weapons and the excitement of succeeding technologically is thought to have distorted the morality of
those who decided to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki. These atomic bombings are plausibly the first
and last of their kind, as increasing nuclear programs in countries worldwide promise mutually
assured destruction to countries associated in such an ordeal. In the future, all countries involved in a
war will need to tread carefully, as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ironically, approximately twenty years later, the United States of America was blamed for doing just
that. Arguably, the entire Atomic Bomb situation began on August 2, 1939, when President Franklin
D. Roosevelt received a letter revealing by purifying uranium 235 one had the potential to create a
bomb. It also revealed the efforts in Nazi Germany to create a bomb (Bellis 1). In response to this
letter, a secret government project called the Manhattan Project , began (Bellis 1).
The Manhattan Project was top secret at the time, and served the purpose of creating and testing an
atomic bomb(Bellis 1). Between 1939 and 1945 over two billion dollars were given to the Manhattan
Project (Bellis 1). The scientists burdened with inventing such a bomb mostly originated from the
University of Chicago (Bellis 1). To create an atomic bomb, a specific amount of enriched uranium
must be used, to create a chain reaction (Bellis 1). The group of scientists, headed by Enrico Fermi
and J. Robert Oppenheimer, created a pile of forty five metric tons of natural uranium embedded in
solid graphite (Bellis 1). Although the reaction was slowed because the uranium 235 was not
extracted, it was considered successful (Bellis 1). The next step was to extract the uranium 235, and
create a real bomb (Bellis 1). The way to go about this creation was difficult. The ratio of uranium to
uranium ore is five hundred to one. The one part in that ratio is ninety nine

Historical Significance Of The City Of Jerusalem
The city of Jerusalem is vitally important to many of the historical records found in both Old and New
Testaments of the Bible. From Genesis (14:18) to Revelation (21:10), the Bible is filled with allusions
and events related to this city. One simply cannot read the Bible without reading about Jerusalem! For
this reason, it is of great benefit to further study this wonderfully significant place. Before looking at
the historical significance of Jerusalem, which means foundation of peace (Laney 1988), it is fitting to
look at the geography of this city. At an elevation of 2,490 ft. above sea level (Wikipedia 2015a) and
situated thirty three miles west of the north end of the Mediterranean Seas and fifteen miles west of
the north end of the Dead Sea (Laney 1988), Jerusalem is located in the Judaean Mountains in modern
day Palestine. Nestled amongst three valleys (the Kidron Valley, Hinnom Valley, and Tyropoeon
Valley), the city was well protected from enemy invaders from all directions but the north. This,
among other reasons, was likely why its location was so desirable in antiquity. The climate of
Jerusalem is pleasant , with average high temperatures around 74° F and average low temperatures
around 48° F (Laney 1988). With its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea, the city is often
characterized by a slight sea breeze and sunshine. Jerusalem receives an average of twenty two inches
of precipitation annually, with snow being quite rare (Wikipedia 2015a). Another reason

As I mentioned during our phone conversation, on August 2014, Carmen Alfonso entered into a contract with Lowe s to renovate two bathrooms at 14817 SW 175th Street, Miami, Florida 33187 Unfortunately, I m disappointed with how long it has taken Lowe s to complete the renovation and furthermore all the setbacks encountered. The renovation commenced 2 years 6 months ago, four different contract companies and there are still outstanding issues, including but not limited to a water leak located in the small bathroom. Obviously, this issue was not the result of a chemical reaction as initially concluded by GC # 1 and 2, but something more profound. When the fourth GC (Jerson) was onboarded to remediate the outstanding issues, the brown stain issue was one of the items on the punch list. During the initial walk though, Jerson removed the grout that had the brown stain and found evidence of water on the cement underneath the tile. On January 3, 2017 the contractors removed the toilet and ripped out several floor tiles with the intent of identifying water leak. Once the area was exposed the leak was not apparent and therefore required a more in depth research according to the GC perhaps breaking the floor to again access to the pipes thus, requiring Lowe s approval before proceeding. The GC informed me that he would meet with Lowe s to propose his recommendations and that I should hear back from them in the next couple of day. Once students are accepted they should contact their post secondary settings Disability Services Office (ideally this is done prior to the start of the semester to ensure necessary supports are implemented at the beginning of the year). Students will not receive services if they do not advocate for their educational needs. They must submit adequate documentation of their disability (IEPs, educational testing, etc.). The Disability Office then reviews the documentation to determine eligibility. Students meet with Disability Service staff to create an Accommodation Package, which takes the place of an IEP. Throughout this week s reading we learned about the many relationship building strategies. This journal will outline my relationship building strategies, both within and outside work situations, and what happens when my strategies do not work. As a new leader these strategies are ones that I will have to work on before I fully employ them. Two of these strategies that would work best with me are developing mutual interests with clients and becoming a collaborator (Gilley, 2006). Developing interests with clients allows me to ask open ended questions that help to search for common interests. These interests help build rapport, which can help me develop new ideas or improvements for the organization. Becoming a collaborator includes tailoring interactions to the audience (Gilley, 2006). I am constantly doing this because not everyone is going to react the same way, want the same information, or care about the subject. When common interests are found the relationship and interaction between myself and others will become more productive or meaningful. Outside Situations All of these strategies can be used outside of work as well. This, I believe, is because humans need interactions and relationships to be happy. One does not have to be cut and dry at all times. It is finding a balance between professionalism and normalcy. • 8. Application Verification Calibration Circuit For Workstations Our capstone project, DDR4 INTERFACE DESIGN VERIFICATON FOR SERVERS aims at the design verification calibration circuit for high speed interfaces for memory subsystems. These interfaces allow for data transfer to and from the memory to facilitate interoperability. During the initial phase, we thoroughly studied the unique features and requirements of DDR4, the latest and fastest version of Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) and the implications of those factors for controller and physical layer design. In this project, my initial focus was on the physical layer that connects the DDR4 memory to its controller. After an extensive literature review, I narrowed my focus to the design and verification of calibration circuit, which is going to be used to calibrate resistance and slew rate of drivers at IO buffers to provide better communication with external devices. 2.1. Overview The DDR4 memory works at twice the data rate of its predecessors. This is facilitated by the physical layer, which needs to be capable of reliably handling twice the data rate than it did with the previous version of DRAM, DDR3. At the integrated circuits level, several changes have been made to allow for this. Owing to these changes in specifications, the DDR4 subsystem is capable of achieving the doubled data rates at a lower power consumption allowing for prolonged battery life in devices employing this ... This paper is a brief comparison of the central banking systems of the two economies. The paper starts by introducing historical background for the two central banking systems to be established. It then continues to analysis similarities and differences between two central bank system s organizational structures. Moreover, the paper will also compare monetary policy frameworks of the two systems in terms of monetary policy making organization, objective, transparency, accountability, and strategies. History The Federal Reserve System In 1791, U.S. Congress established the First Bank of the United States, headquartered in Philadelphia in response to the rapidly inflated paper money continentals . However, Congress refused to renew the bank s charter in 1811 because many Americans then were uncomfortable with the idea of a large and powerful bank. By 1816, the idea of a central bank was once again aroused; by a narrow margin, Congress agreed to charter the Second Bank of the United States. But the Second Bank s charter expired in 1836 without a renewal neither. During the Free Bank Era (1836 1865), risks of financial crisis accumulated. In 1893, a banking panic triggered the worst depression the United States had ever seen, and in 1907, a bout of speculation on Wall Street ended in failure, triggering a particularly severe banking panic. • 18. A Documentary On Tattoos And How They Affect Human... I conducted a survey and three interviews to create a documentary on tattoos and how they affect human relationships and interactions. This paper is an analysis of what it takes to make a documentary. Documentary originates from the word document which means a film or article that records factual information. Documentary means to present facts objectively without editing and adding fictional information (Stott 6). Some of the first documents are from Benjamin Glassberg in 1938 and Saunders Redding 1951 before the word documentary was even created (Stott 6). At first, a documentary was known as a human document because it had emotional ties to the information though it was factual information (Stott 7). Emotion itself is completely subjective because not every person in the world will have the same emotion to the same event. Thus giving birth to two different kinds of documentaries official and human. In 1938, photography was introduced into the world of documentaries by providing photographic proof of factual information. This brought about a bigger war between objective and subjective documentaries because along with photos came more emotion (Stott 11). How could an author of an official documentary choose photos without any bias? All this information made me want to challenge myself and make an objective documentary on tattoos. I personally have tattoos and plan on obtaining more so the challenge here is to take information attained and record it without any of my own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Case Title : NLRB on behalf of Mrs. Dawn vs. American Medical Response of Connecticut Company Case number: 34 CA 012576 Date Opened: 01/19/2010 Status: closed Presentation of the Case The case filed by NLRB was between the American Medical Response of Connecticut in New Haven and one of their employees called Mrs. Dawn. Upon verbal disagreement with her supervisor, Mrs. Dawn posted a negative remark on her private facebook wall about the supervisor. The remark attracted comments from her staff mates. On reporting to work the following day, she was suspended and later fired. The company argued that her act was a violation of their internet policy by criticizing her overseer online. The Hartford NLRB office filed a complaint of unlawful dismissal of Mrs. Dawn stating that the party was involved in protected concerted activity on Facebook at the time when she criticized her senior. In addition, NLRB identified several unlawful provisions within the company s manual of conduct. However, before hearing, the company opted for an out of court settlement with Mrs. Dawn besides revising their unlawful provisions in their handbook. Rationale of the NLRB Decision I agree with NLRB s decision since Dawn activity can be classified as a concerted activity. And these data online can be stored through a web site or a web page. The user wishing to access this information will then search for it, but there are billions of web sites and web pages. How will one be able to search for the specific web page or website? So there should be a specific name, number or name tag through which we can differentiate all websites and web pages. The URL plays the same role as the name or identity of a web page or website. Basically a URL is one type of uniform resource identifier (URI); the generic term for all types of names and address that refers to objects on the World Wide Web. There is a specific format of URL. • 23. Of God and Nature Gloria Omole 1. There are two books that give me my divine stance: the one God wrote himself (scripture) and the alternative for those who don t seek the bible (nature). Those who have not seen his teachings firsthand know of him through his scripture. 2. The sun caused the ones that know him through scripture to appreciate him; it was a miracle that was to be taken note of above all his other miracles 3. The pagans knew how to read the word better than Christians themselves, although they read less into it then those with faith do. 4. • 24. Guernica, By Pablo Picasso Guernica by Pablo Picasso was a black and white, mural oil painting created in June of 1937 on a 349 cm × 776 cm (137.4 in × 305.5 in) canvas. The piece represents the chaos that flooded the Spanish town of Guernica after a vicious bombing by the German and Italian forces during the Spanish Civil War. What followed was a senseless slaughter and bloodshed with the primary focus being the demoralization of the Basque people. The painting depicts suffering people, animals, and buildings wrenched by violence and chaos. On the far left, there is a bull standing over what appears to be a woman grieving over a dead child, held in her arms. On the far right we see a figure entrapped by flames. The shape of his hand suggests that of an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Picasso plays with shadows and contrast to not only give the painting depth, but also as a form of symbolism between the darkness and gloom of the massacre and the light peaking through cracks which represents hope that is unattainable. The contrast also adds emphasis on areas of focus such as with the bull at the far left and the floating head. Lines are also used for this purpose, as they direct the viewers eye primarily to the horse near the center of the painting. There are many subtle hidden messages within this piece that leave a haunting impression on the viewer. The bull and horse are both essential parts of Spanish culture and play important roles in the meaning of this painting. They illustrate both the brutalization and dehumanization of humanity during wartime, as well as the animalistic response that all living things experience when coming into close proximity with fear and death. Furthermore, the bull represents Spain itself, which still stands, triumphant and peaceful after such a brutal and horrendous act of violence. The overall attitude of the painting however is less optimistic, with brutality and chaos being the general tone. The dove inscribed in the wall represents lost hope, as well as the glimmers of light coming in between the crack of the walls. The broken sword and flower growing from the dismembered hand represents the birth and death of life at the hands of humanity. The main ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. The Book Of Job Controversy The text The Book of Job, interpreted and translated by Stephen Mitchell, raises great controversy in the world of righteousness. It is a well known, universal text, and with each new interpreter who translates, there is a new version of the story brought to the surface. William Blake partakes in this conflict of ideas through his artwork rather than his writing. His art reflects his own personal view of the text and has both similar and differentiating opinions than Mitchell s own on the key events in the book. Narrowing it down to Blake s ideas behind the scene depicted in Figure A alongside Mitchell s in the text, it is a perfect demonstration of the two interpretations clashing and blending their ideas. Starting with Mitchell s written ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By directing the attention onto not only the main illustration, but also the art located on the border, one is able to further deduce Blake s interpretation. Shown in Figure A, directly under the main illustration there appears to be two birds, a crow and an owl, in some sort of quarrel. Based on the context of the dispute happening in the main illustration, it is safe to assume that these birds represent the opposing sides of the argument. The crow, appearing more aggravated, shows more correlation to the three friend s side, and the owl, while alarmed but not nearly as aggressive looking, leans more towards Job s. The crow is a common symbol of evil, bad luck, and even death. If Blake drew the connection from the crow to the three friends, then it can be inferred that Blake has a rather negative outlook on them and their side of this fight. Rather than looking into the logic behind it, Blake seems to base his interpretation of these characters on their words and actions from the text, which paint them as truly terrible acquaintances. In order to further depict this, Blake illustrates the three friends in the most judgemental fashion: lined up together, all with their pointer fingers outstretched in accusation towards Job. Their expressions do not fall short of condemning or angry. Job on the other hand, connected to the owl, is seen as a wise man in Blake s eyes. At the very least, Blake agrees with Job s reasoning and sticks to the wise side of the is Job a wise man debate. Job himself also gives way to Blake s thoughts through his body language in the illustration. Eyes cast to the heavens, palms faced out in a questionly manner, his look of grief and questioning directly portrays Blake s vision of Job s immense suffering. This theme of suffering once again connects to the border of the print. The desperate looking humanoid figures bound by chains lead to the conclusion that Blake overemphasizes (and ... • 27. A Brave New World by Aldous Huxley In the world of sex, drugs, and baby cloning you are going to be in many situations where you feel like the world we live in should be different. In the story Brave New World, they had sex with multiple partners along with a very bad use of drugs. It is weird that Aldous Huxley wrote this book in 1931 about the world he was living in during that time and how it is similar to the world we live in today. Nowadays, drugs are still being used and people are still engaging in sexual encounters with multiple partners. Things are no different than they use to be. People still to this day are using drugs and committing adultery as if there aren t any diseases out there. In the story they introduced a drug named Soma. This particular drug was the narcotic they used to escape the world they lived in. Aldous Huxley did not like being in London because he felt the people there were basically all the same. Aldous Huxley was characterized by people as being very weird to people because he didn t like to do the things they did. He became so weird to people that the press and news reporters became interested in talking to him in order to find out more about him. I have a connection with this particular story because the world I m living in today is based on the same things he described. Sex is the main thing teenagers care about nowadays. There is only one path through the circuit from the power source to the ground. In this diagram, the power source is a 9V battery. One end of the battery has 9V of potential to do work (positive terminal top). The other end of the battery has zero potential to do work (negative terminal/ground bottom). (b) Due to the fact that R1 and R2 are identical, what would you guess is the voltage across each resistor is individually? Why? (c) We can actually replace these two resistors with one resistor that would have the same impact on the circuit. (This theoretical resistor is called an equivalent resistor). We are such a large group that we tend to solely interact with one another and when we are all together, our energy can be overwhelming. As a large group, there are many different influences that separate, but also, bring us together. A group is considered two or more people that meet a collection of requirements. Membership refers to having some way to determine who is in and who is out of the group, in our case that means being a part of the Emory men s and women s swim team. While everyone has a say in these processes, they are still lead by the captains. In everything we do, everyone takes some of the responsibility, but there is also always a clear status structure. This is an interesting characteristic of our team. It s a bit contradictory to say that we are all equal yet there is a strong social structure, but it s true. One thing we like to say is that the group makes the whole better. This is a great summarization of our team dynamics. We work together, and become one so that we can individually excel, and when we individually excel, the group as a whole excels. The Search for Enlightenment Essay The Search for Enlightenment Nature, I think we can deduce, refers not only to animals, plants, and mountains, but rather to the universe as a whole the entirety of the physical universe ranging from human nature to quantum nature while also including, plants, animals, and mountains as part of this greater whole. It has been the search for knowledge and truths of the wonders and mysteries of nature, or rather the universe (in other words science) that has, over the past few years been the underlying motivation in my life. Not only do I find the search for knowledge exciting and intellectually stimulating, but I have found that this motivation gives meaning or rather a direction to my life. I don t wish to imply that science and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the purpose of science and one that I disagree with. Instead my drive for competency has made science seem attractive, not because it tries to replace God and metaphysical ideology, but rather that it explains the universe without having to rely on untestable assumptions (which we can t know to be true) about how the universe should or would make sense to be. As I believe that there is no God or transcendental explanation for life or the cosmos, I aspire to understand human behavior, not in terms of metaphysical and transcendental explanations, but rather in an empirical approach based on logic, reason, and the consiliecnce (Wilson 1998, p.8) of the sciences and knowledge. Yet, my innate desire for competence leads to another important motivation that affects my being, that is the quest for authenticism. To be authentic, I refer to being original, honest about my thoughts to myself and others; aware and skeptical of the motivation and assumptions of culture and society; attempting to recognize and dissect assumptions of my creation and that of culture and societies; being able to relate to others; and finally, being hyper conscious of myself. By hyper conscious, I refer to the state of consciousness deeper than that of awareness of one s existence, that being the awareness of one s motivations the constant introspection, thought, and questioning of one s actions and ... The Atomic Bomb Of Hiroshima And Nagasaki The Atomic Bomb After World War I, no one, not even the Head of Chemical Warfare, suspected such a weapon would be dropped on civilians in the near future. Prior to the development of the atomic bomb in World War II, gas bombing and incendiary bombing were prevalent (Rotter 5). The race to create nuclear weapons and the excitement of succeeding technologically is thought to have distorted the morality of those who decided to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Ironically, approximately twenty years later, the United States of America was blamed for doing just that. Arguably, the entire Atomic Bomb situation began on August 2, 1939, when President Franklin D. Roosevelt received a letter revealing by purifying uranium 235 one had the potential to create a bomb. It also revealed the efforts in Nazi Germany to create a bomb (Bellis 1). In response to this letter, a secret government project called the Manhattan Project , began (Bellis 1). The Manhattan Project was top secret at the time, and served the purpose of creating and testing an atomic bomb(Bellis 1). Between 1939 and 1945 over two billion dollars were given to the Manhattan Project (Bellis 1). The scientists burdened with inventing such a bomb mostly originated from the University of Chicago (Bellis 1). To create an atomic bomb, a specific amount of enriched uranium must be used, to create a chain reaction (Bellis 1). The group of scientists, headed by Enrico Fermi and J. Robert Oppenheimer, created a pile of forty five metric tons of natural uranium embedded in solid graphite (Bellis 1). Although the reaction was slowed because the uranium 235 was not extracted, it was considered successful (Bellis 1). The next step was to extract the uranium 235, and create a real bomb (Bellis 1). The way to go about this creation was difficult. The ratio of uranium to uranium ore is five hundred to one. The one part in that ratio is ninety nine ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Historical Significance Of The City Of Jerusalem The city of Jerusalem is vitally important to many of the historical records found in both Old and New Testaments of the Bible. From Genesis (14:18) to Revelation (21:10), the Bible is filled with allusions and events related to this city. One simply cannot read the Bible without reading about Jerusalem! For this reason, it is of great benefit to further study this wonderfully significant place. Before looking at the historical significance of Jerusalem, which means foundation of peace (Laney 1988), it is fitting to look at the geography of this city. At an elevation of 2,490 ft. above sea level (Wikipedia 2015a) and situated thirty three miles west of the north end of the Mediterranean Seas and fifteen miles west of the north end of the Dead Sea (Laney 1988), Jerusalem is located in the Judaean Mountains in modern day Palestine. Nestled amongst three valleys (the Kidron Valley, Hinnom Valley, and Tyropoeon Valley), the city was well protected from enemy invaders from all directions but the north. This, among other reasons, was likely why its location was so desirable in antiquity. The climate of Jerusalem is pleasant , with average high temperatures around 74° F and average low temperatures around 48° F (Laney 1988). With its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea, the city is often characterized by a slight sea breeze and sunshine. Jerusalem receives an average of twenty two inches of precipitation annually, with snow being quite rare (Wikipedia 2015a). Another reason ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
