Dr. Gill Ranks
Headline: Dr Gill Ranks as One of the Top Plastic Surgeons in Naples, Florida Sub headline: The
Mommy Makeover Surgeon of Naples Dr. Kiranjeet Gill is the leading surgeon in Naples, Florida for
women. As a woman, she understands the difficulties of balancing, work, family and personal needs.
Women often neglect themselves to tend to others, and they have unique needs. From breast
augmentation to cosmetic procedures, Dr. Gill helps women get the customized care they need.
Extensive Experience As an undergraduate, Dr. Gill received her degree from Georgetown University.
She pursued her medical studies in Chicago, Illinois. At the time, she started a four year course on
general surgery at the Rush University Medical Center. After years ... Show more content on

Gill can easily relate to her patients. Juggling family and work is never easy for mothers. It can often
be difficult to find time for surgeries and self care when there are children to feed and a never ending
list of housework to be completed. With this in mind, Dr. Gill helps mothers to juggle their
appointments and find time for their self care. Whether women want a breast augmentation or need
corrective surgery, Dr. Gill can help them become the healthiest, best person that they can be. Getting
a Mommy Makeover While motherhood is a joyous time, a pregnancy can leave lasting changes on
the mother s body. After a pregnancy, many women experience physical signs like loose skin, stretch
marks, loose muscles and drooping breasts. While diet and exercise can help with weight loss, they
will not reverse many of these pregnancy changes. Due to this, Dr. Gill offers a customized mommy
makeover option. Mothers who are tired of dealing with bodily changes from a pregnancy can get
tighter abdominal muscles, higher breasts and less fat through a mommy makeover. Stretch marks can
be reduced, and breasts can be made fuller. Dr. Gill works with women throughout Florida, and she
knows exactly how pregnancy changes a woman s body. With this in depth knowledge, she is able to
help her patients through surgical planning and consultations. Each woman has different goals from
their surgery, and Dr. Gill is ideally suited to help women meet these

Vanadyl Sulfate Lab Report
The experimental started out with the synthesis of VIVO(acac)2. The vanadyl sulfate was dissolve in
distilled water and mixed with acetylacetone, which gave a dark blue solution. From the reaction,
sulfate anion was present in the solution, which could react with water in the solution to make the
acid, hydrogen sulfate. Therefore, the acid had to be neutralized with sodium bicarbonate. Upon
adding sodium bicarbonate, the reaction bubbled releasing CO2 gas and the solution slightly increased
to a lighter blue color. Upon completion of the reaction, the greenish blue precipitate was vacuum
filtered and weighed. A mass of 0.4194g of VIVO(acac)2 with a percent yield of 24.8%. The percent
yield was low, but that was most likely due to not allowing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

A third sample of zinc acetate dihydrate was used for benchtop magnetic susceptibility. By using the
data from Table 1, the experimental magnet moment (Âľeff) was calculation using the equations in
Appendix A. In the order of zinc acetate dihydrate, VIVO(acac)2 and FeIII(acac)3, the respective
magnet moments were determined to be 2.96, 1.20 and 4.73. The data agrees with what would be
expected looking at the electronic states of the metal atoms. Vanadium is in the D5 group of the period
table so it is had five unpaired electrons in the D orbital. Since experimentally V(IV) is produced, that
means vanadium has a positive four oxidation state reducing its unpaired electrons in the D orbital to
one. For iron, it is in the D8 group and has a positive three oxidation state so it has a total of five
unpaired electrons in its D orbital. Zinc is in the D10 group and is in the ground state, where all its
electrons are paired. Since the magnetic susceptibility is measuring the number of unpaired electrons
reacting with a magnetic field, the results demonstrate that by an increase in magnetic moments with
the increase in the number of unpaired electrons. The only discrepancy with the data is that the two
water molecules in the zinc acetate dihydrate wasn t accounted for in determining magnetic
susceptibility. The magnetic moment of zinc acetate dihydrate was higher than

successful. The environmental scan and swot analysis does a comprehensive assessment of each
factor. This tool gives the company better knowledge on how to conduct their business in the market.
Virtual child care bodyguard security has five external factors to deliberate before and during the
company enters the market, legal and regulatory, economics, innovation, and Technological. The
external factors are events that affect the company from the outside, both positive and negative, hence

San Bernardino Terrorist Attacks Case
Apple vs the Government agency (FBI) in the San Bernardino Terrorist attacks case. Ethics and
Morality are defined as the distinction of right and wrong. On the other hand morals are also largely
based on the social values of good and bad. However, people tend to define them as the standards and
customs that guide the way of life towards good. In most cases of ethics and morality they are
referring to acts of both good and bad deeds. Nonetheless, in a recent case with the FBI vs. the
Government against Apple Inc. Company arose one of the key moral issues in the business world.
Apple refused to offer a backdoor to one of the iPhones considered to be of the terrorists. The ethical
issue involved two genuine values; privacy and security. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Apple mentioned also in their letter to their customers that they were against terrorism. They
continued to state that as a company they did everything in their power to help the FBI in investigating
this case and catch these criminals. However, Apple did not want to risk its customer s privacy
because it was found that most apple product users store data such as private conversations, photos,
music, notes, calendars and contacts, financial information and health data in their devices. Since
Apple operates their company based on certain values one of them being safeguarding their customer s
data, this prompted decision to deny the FBI the software or backdoor that would ve risked the privacy
of millions of iPhone users. The FBI however is willing to do just about anything to solve a case, one
that especially involves serious criminals investigates. Keeping this in mind you can see why the FBI
refused to think morally in favor of Apple and how this backdoor software would ve tarnished the
reputation and decreased business for this company. However it is concluded both of these parties did
what was ethically right for their independent situations, but as you can see what is ethically right for
one situation is not necessarily right for another

Essay on James Joyce s Dubliners
Dubliners
James Joyce wrote the book Dubliners; Joyce expresses many different types of emotions throughout
the book. The emotions portray individuals in society, and light and dark. The emotions of individuals
are examined throughout the stories by other members in society. The stories that express the ideas
are: The Encounter, Eveline , and The Dead. The symbolism of individuals in society expresses many
different situations that are happening in the characters lives. The symbolism of light goes along with
the idea of feeling happy and enjoying life. The theme of dark shows the individuals fighting, and
having a negative outlook on life.
The story of the Encounter expresses different images of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story of Eveline shows the images of the girl s past being the image of dark, and her future the
image of light. The promise made between her and her mother holds her back from moving on with
her life. She feels that she is confused with leaving or staying. She remembered the last night of her
mother s illness; she was again in the close dark room at the other side of the hall and outside she
heard a melancholy air of Italy (33). The feeling of being portrayed of being lost between her past and
her future. She wants more, but doesn t want to go against her mothers wish. The story of Eveline
gives different perspectives of the society. The society plays a major factor in the roles of the
characters with the decisions they make. She feels parted from her family and the society puts a toll on
her feelings. In her home anyway she had shelter and food; she had those who she had known all her
life about her (30). The life she used to have is different than the life she wants to take with Frank.
Frank feels pressured to make the right decisions to make him look good in the society. Eveline
expresses how much the society has an impact on the individuals and how they interact with each
other.
The confusion of the Dead shows many different images of the themes of light and dark. The images
show the characters feelings at harsh,

The South China Sea Dispute
The South China Sea Dispute
There is a stark contrast between the schisms of the twentieth century and the ones of the twenty first.
The wars of the twentieth were primarily fought on dry land, in Europe, however, in the twenty first
century, the military, economic, and demographic focus of the globe has become increasingly
maritime. Maritime including the sea, air, and outer space, because ever since the aircraft carriers and
satellites were put into use, the air and outer space have become interconnected with naval warfare
and military activities. East Asia is a large and vast area, stretching from the Arctic to the Antarctic,
known for its broken array of shorelines and archipelagos from the Kim Islands all the way to New

Chinese experts estimate that the South China Sea can ultimately yield 130 billion barrels of oil,
making it contain more oil than anywhere else in the world with the exception of Saudi Arabia. For
this reason, Chinese observers have called the South China Sea the second Persian Gulf . China s state
owned China National Offshore Oil Corporation has invested $20 billion the energy generating
resources in the South China Sea and has already taken steps to extract these natural resources. In
2014, China placed the Haiyang Shiyou 981 oil rig in contested waters, near Vietnam. The Chinese oil
rig is the first domestically built mobile drilling platform by China, and it covers the area of a football
field and stands 449 feet tall. After clashes with Vietnamese vessels, China briefly removed the oil rig,
but it was placed back near the Gulf of Tonkin on January 16, 2016. The Vietnamese government
strongly protested against the presence of a Chinese oil rig in contested waters that both China and
Vietnam claim. The rig is currently in an overlapping area between the Hainan Island (China)
continental shelf and Vietnam s continental shelf. The presence of this oil rig caused worry and has
lead to many conflicts. China is also desperate for new sources of energy, as China consumes 10
percent of all oil produced while only producing 1.1 percent. The resources in the South China Sea
could relieve China s dependence on oil coming from the Middle East through

RagnarĂśk Research Paper
The Rath of Loki and his Children During RagnarĂśk In Norse Mythology, Loki is a mischievous,
trickster who has the ability to change his sex and shape. He also has three children with a giantess
named AngrboĂ°a.The event, RagnarĂśk also known as Doomsday, translates from Old Norse to Doom
of all Gods which is fitting in the way that it s the end of all god and men. Loki and RagnarĂśk are
connected in the way that Loki s children all wreak havoc during RagnarĂśk. Loki fathers the most
monstrous enemies of the gods: the Midgard serpent named JĂśrmungand, the wolf Fenrir and the
death goddess, Hel. When the mighty god Odin found out about these children, he ordered that they
were to be brought to him, so he could decide their fate. For his many ... Show more content on

The connection between Hel and RagnarĂśk is through Odin s son Baldur. Baldur was one of the most
beloved of all the gods. Baldur was a generous, joyful, and courageous character who gladdened the
hearts of all who spent time with him. When, therefore, he began to have ominous dreams of some
grave misfortune befalling him, the fearful gods appointed Odin to discover their meaning. Odin
mounted his eight legged steed, Sleipnir, and rode him to the underworld. When he reached the cold
and misty underworld, he found the halls arrayed in splendor, as if some magnificent feast were about
to occur. He soon found out that guest of honor for this festivity was to be none other than Baldur.
Odin returned in sorrow to Asgard, the gods celestial stronghold, and told his fellow gods what he had
been told. Frigg, wanting for any chance of saving her treasured son, went to every thing in the
cosmos and obtained oaths to not harm Baldur. After these oaths were secured, the gods made a sport
out of the situation. They threw sticks, rocks, and anything else on hand at Baldur, and everyone
laughed as these things bounced off and left the shining god unharmed. Loki saw an opportunity to
cause mischief and took it. In disguise, he went to Frigg and asked her, Did all things swear oaths to
spare Baldur from harm? Oh, yes, the goddess replied, everything except the mistletoe. But the
mistletoe is so small and innocent a thing that I felt it superfluous to ask it for an oath. What harm
could it do to my son? Immediately after hearing this, Loki located the mistletoe, and brought it to
where the gods were playing their new favorite game. He approached the blind god Hod and said, You
must feel quite left out, having to sit back here away from the merriment, not being given a chance to
show Baldur the honor of proving his invincibility. The blind god

What Is The Third Stage Of Erikson s Psychosocial Development
The third stage in Erikson s psychosocial development is genital locomotor, where the crisis is
initiative versus guilt. During this stage, children begin to interact with other kids at their school,
allowing them the chance to explore their skills through initiating in activities. Correspondingly, a
child may demonstrate initiative if they feel sure of themselves in making decisions and leading
others, with an appropriate amount of enthusiasm and encouragement from their caretakers. On the
contrary, a child may demonstrate guilt if their attempts to initiate in an activity is controlled or
criticized; the child may feel as if they are a bother to society and thus, will lack initiative and become
a follower instead of a leader. If this stage

was proposed by the newly elected Scottish national party (SNP) in an effort to form a new state, and

party in favor of independence said the following, More than ever Scotland needs a party which will

Over time, computers have evolved tremendously due to inventors working with different devices.
Even before history was recoded, people used handheld counting and computing aids. Today, with our

today s society and better serve people. My paper will explore the creation and usage of each device,

Mechanical calculators came on the scene shortly after the slide rule was developed. Instead of
needing the operator to apply algorithms to perform calculations as was the case with manual
calculators, a mechanical calculator implemented algorithms autonomously. The operator entered the
numbers for the calculations and pulled a lever/turned a wheel and the calculation would be carried
out. Mechanical calculators were developed in 1623, one of them was called Shickard s calculator,
which contained a series of interlocking gears. It had ten spokes and each spoke on a gear represented
a digit. Each time that the gear made one complete revolution, it moved on to the next gear which was
one notch to the left in order to carry the one . Moving on to 1642, Blaise Pascal developed what was
known as the pascaline. A pascaline was a mechanical device that was used for both addition and
subtraction as well as division and multiplication. Gottfried Whilhelm von Leibniz created a similar
calculator in 1673. In 1820, however, Thomas de Colmar s Arithmometer was the first mass produced
mechanical calculator. Soon, calculators wouldn t need human power in order to operate. In 1822,
Charles Babbage created plans for a device that would be called the Difference Engine that would run
only on steam power. It was made to rapidly and accurately calculate large tables of numbers that were
used for engineering and astronomical applications. The blueprints for the Difference Engine

Between practice, games and travel time, there is not much free time for family time, play time or
study time. They need time to play with friends and develop social skills outside of organized sports.
Do not turn them into a workhorse. Realize that you cannot live your dreams through your child, and
that they have dreams of their own. A parent should help a child set performance goals and develop a
winning perspective and strive to instill a healthy level of competition. If kids don t try other sports,
how do they know whether or not they might like those sports more or be better at them? For many
athletes their bodies are not completely developed. By playing at the speed of the higher conditioned
and developed players in the professional league, young underdeveloped athletes run the risk of
suffering an early career ending injury. These opportunities, though, come at a cost. While young
athletes are participating in intensive sporting education, their academic education may be neglected.

Antibiotics Combat Infectious Bacteria
Introduction:
Antibiotics have the ability to kill or hinder the growth of bacteria. Antibiotics contain compounds that
are naturally produced by organisms to combat diseases caused by microbes. Discovery of penicillin
by Sir Alexander Fleming became the first stepping stone of many new antibiotics of today s modern
medicine. Antibiotics typically invade the very components that make up bacteria, such as cell walls
and metabolic pathways (Sato et al., 2014). However, frequent mutations of bacteria cause today s
strains to become more resistant. One of many ways which bacteria undergo mutation is through
horizontal transfer of genes (Lindsay J.A., 2013). The war against disease is a battle that humanity has
fought for centuries, and only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Polymyxin B is known to only be effective against Gram negative bacteria, which was consistent with
the collected data. Gram positive effective antibiotics and protein synthesis inhibitors such as
azithromycin and tetracycline were expected to be ineffective to Gram negative bacteria, along with
DNA dependent RNA polymerase inhibitor such as rifampin. However, contrasting results were
depicted after 48 hours of incubation at 37⁰C. The bacteria appeared to be susceptible to azithromycin
when the bacteria were anticipated to be resistant. This discrepancy could be explained through the
molecular mechanism of azithromycin. Azithromycin induces adenine methylation in the rRNA in the
50S ribosomal subunit, and past experiments have indicated that it has a higher affinity for the
erythromycin binding site for the ribosome to cause azithromycin to be more susceptible in Gram
negative bacteria (Retsema et al., 1987). In addition, a polypeptide inhibitor such as penicillin was
anticipated to be susceptible to the Gram negative bacteria, but it was displayed to be resistant.
Penicillin is known to be a β lactam antibiotic consisting of β lactam ring that inhibits the cell wall

These articles discuss the construction of a dam s project in Mapuche territories and its impact on the
social, political and economic life of the indigenous community. The Mapuche people of Southern
Chile have a long history and they were able to defend their independence despite many raids by
giving many sacrifices. But a final defeat their on the hands of Chilean army forced them to be at the

The Mapuche community has knocked the door of many authorities to let their grievances be
addressed, and justice be provided. They have made many protests but all fell on the deaf ears of
concerned authorities. Their appeal and protest is based on retaining ancestral lands, concerns over
environmental and social impacts, and the secrecy of all process. Despite all protests of local
communities, ENDESA and IFC were initially reluctant to consider the demands of the Mapuche
people. Even the audit reports of DR Downing, an anthropologist hired by IFC, about the social and
environmental impacts and weakness of the project were not fully publicized as it found substantial
evidence that the Pehuen foundation has failed to compensate all affected people adequately.
Lately, because of the international pressure and fear of losing credibility IFC server notice to
ENDESA that failure to meet the environmental conditions of loan would result in declaration of a

Setting Up The Drums
Everyone has a moment in life where they feel they have lost their honour and certainty in these
moments of failures and uncertainty an individual s life changes and that individual is given the
chance to redeem themselves and get back on track to a more balanced life. Honour is all about
respectability and worthiness to one s self and those around them, as for certainty this is knowing one
will live day to day with the reliability that not much will change in regards to chaos. Beginning with
Setting Up The Drums, a poem written by Don McKay the poem is based around making that best out

Piano Critique
The piece opens very quickly, with a quickening of the cello but it is suddenly interrupted with the
piano in a deep key. The opening part of the piece has a significant amount of dissonance, bringing a
sense of anxiety and desire for the piece to end. As it rises, the listener is both anxious for an ending
and a resolution. The piano is this ending. The piece then picks up in a minor key, entering a more
mystical and quiet place. The piano takes precedence with the cello sitting in the background yet when
the listener thinks the pieces will be piano heavy, the cello takes over the piano withdraws to the
background. The deep vibratos of the cello are contrasted with the light single key of the piano. This
leads the listener to associate the cello with a lament and the piano for hope. The piano always closes
the movement with a deep, somber key, suggesting that though hope is out there, there is still an air of
sadness, of melancholy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the cello stops, the listener is thrown into a state of tranquility. There is less stimuli and the

consonance with the piano, creating a unified piece. The piece, I believe remains in minor the entire
time, which adds to the feeling of despair. Another feature which adds to this despair (dissonance and
minor key) is the presence of commas. Not only does the listen hope for something, that is the

Essay The Importance of Prenatal Care
The Importance of Prenatal Care Prenatal care is widely accepted as an important element in
improving pregnancy outcome. (Gorrie, McKinney, Murray, 1998). Prenatal care is defined as care of
a pregnant woman during the time in the maternity cycle that begins with conception and ends with
the onset of labor. A medical, surgical, gynecologic, obstretic, social and family history is taken

The health industry is in the process of adopting evidence based interventions. This has lead to the

This will include the determination of the kind of diet a patient takes and the degree of exercising
together with the knowledge of how various activities affect the heart. The next consideration would
be the determination of the body s fluid levels. This would be followed by the examination of the body
and patient s regulatory systems which affects the body s fluid level. The next step will then be the
evaluation of the disease status of the patient. Other diseases may have a negative effect to the ability
of the heart to pump blood to the various parts of the body and this step will enable the nurse to
discover which disease is causing a negative effect to the heart. The evaluation of the family status
will reveal any conflicts that may be causing the heart failure while at the same time provide an
understanding of the degree of effectiveness of therapeutic regimen management. Through this data,
the nurse will be in a position to determine the patient s current status and aid in determining the level
of outcomes that is required to manage the disease effectively.
Nursing Outcome Classification
At this stage, the nurse should establish the levels to be reached for each of the causes determined in
the diagnosis process. First, the nurse should set the required compliance behavior to the strategies to

To Kill A Mockingbird Book Vs Movie Analysis
Just because a movie is based on a book doesn t mean they will be exactly the same. Characters and
settings can change, scenes might be added or deleted. To Kill A Mockingbird is no different. While
there are many similarities, there are plenty of differences. Goals were set by producers and directors,
specific actors were chosen to bring characters to life. This creates several differences that can be seen
between the book and the movie. After it was published, the book, To Kill A Mockingbird, was in
instant success. The book showed what is was like between whites and blacks back in a time before
equality and the truth about how wrongly people of color were treated. When it s a white man s word
against a black man s, the white man always wins. They re ugly, but those are the facts of life (Lee,
295). Lee did an excellent job getting that point across. Although the film To Kill A Mockingbird is
based on the novel, there are still many differences. The film producers made some changes to the
order of events and how some things happened. They wanted to make the story flow more easily. So,
they switched it up. The movie producers also chose to leave out some characters that didn t have

but the film brought the book to life for me. Maybe it is because I cannot fathom a time when people
were so divided simply because of the color of their skin. Actually seeing it happen on the screen, had
a more intense impact on me than when I read it. You actually hear the words, and see the hate, the

The ideas are termed to be necessary but not sufficient which can be used to develop a frame of
reference which an individual can use to define accidents and occur.
Theories of accidents
W. H. Heinrich developed the Domino theory in 1931. He stated that 88% of the overall accidents
were as a result of unsafe acts of people while 10% dangerous actions. 2% of the accidents were
purely the acts of God. He also proposed a five factor accident sequence which includes ancestry and
social environment, work fault, unsafe act together with mechanical and physical hazards, accidents,
and damage (Ork Ridge National Laboratory, 2016).
Multiple causation theory, on the other hand, accounts that, for an accident to occur, there are various
factors involved and working at the same time. Contributing factors include behavioral and
environmental.
Pure chance theory, on the other hand, educates that everyone working at a particular workstation is
exposed to the possibility of being involved in an accident. Biassed theory states that once a worker
takes part in an accident, there is a bigger chance that he will or will not be involved in another
accident. Accident Proneness theory states that within the workers in an organization, there is a set of
employees who are prone to accidents.
Types of accidents
Many work related accidents are usually minor in nature. For instance, they might be

Homework in Moderation is Good Essays

has been a major debate across America ever since the beginning of the twentieth century. At first,
homework was seen as a muscle that could be trained by learning and people enjoyed that learning

In order for students to solidify their core understanding of certain topics, homework must be used
because it allows students to recall what they have learned outside of school and learning skills can be
improved. For example, Harris Cooper summarizes many of the positive outcomes that homework has
on a student s life. Cooper categorizes these outcomes into four different sections: immediate
achievement and learning, long term academic benefits, nonacademic benefits, and greater parental
appreciation of and involvement in school. Under the first section, Cooper explains that one s learning
can progress rapidly because there will be an increased understanding, better critical thinking, greater
concept formation, information processing, curriculum enrichment, and better retention of factual
knowledge for a student in the learning process. In terms of long term academic benefits, homework
allows students to learn anything they want in their leisure time, an improved attitude toward school
can be observed, and new study habits can be formed to finish homework can classwork in more
efficient timing. However, Cooper s third category is considered one of the more important ones
because it shows how homework is not only limited in the life of an academic enthusiast, but also for
others, who do not focus on studying academic related subjects. For instance, according to Cooper s
studies, he has found that self direction,

Reflection Of Education In High School
It s 1994 in Long Beach, California. Erin Gruwell is just starting her first teaching job, as freshman

who will be lucky to graduate or even be literate. Despite choosing the school on purpose because of
its integration program, Erin is unprepared for the nature of her classroom, whose students live by

Cloud Computing Is A Web Based Utility Model
Cloud computing is a web based utility model. Cybercrime effecting web based systems are equally
applicable in the cloud computing. Considering the affectability and the harm that can be created by
cybercrimes, this is an effort to examine the different digital dangers and routines used to mitigate
them. Firstly, the paper will highlight cloud utilization according to different service models (IaaS,
PaaS, and SaaS) and the potential dangers that are pertinent to these service models. Next, it highlights
the commercial industries that are generally attacked. Lastly, we propose a complete five stage model
to relieve cybercrime. It begins with disinfecting the client s PC, usage of security amid transmission
and closures with the information present in the cloud. Sticking to the proposed model, cybercrime
may be controlled up to 90%. Instead of the five stage model, some companies frequently rely upon
replicating the information.

Pros And Cons Of The Renaissance
One of the three main discoveries that will be discussed is early applications of linear perspective and
this will be shown through representing the body, representing space and the body in space.
During the Renaissance period the world saw a great blend between art and science and because of
this the era was coined the term Scientific Renaissance period. The great advances that happened was
discovered in the fields of geography, astronomy, physics, mathematics, manufacturing, engineering,
anatomy and astronomy. In this period ancient scientific text were rediscovered and during 1453 and
after the Fall of Constantinople which was the capture of the capital of the Byzantine Empire by an
invading army of the Ottoman Empire. The invention of printing would enable people to democratize
learning and allow a faster propagation of new ideas. Some people see the renaissance as one that
caused scientific backwardness. One of these people were George Sarton who argued that scientific
progress was slowed for a period of time. Some of the positive influences of the Renaissance was the
rediscovery of lost texts and the increased emphasis on the study of language.

Amanda Knox Summary
AMANDA KNOX: AN EXAMINATION OF JUSTICE COMPARING
U.S. VS. THE ITALIAN STRUCTURE OF THE COURTS SYSTEMS, AND THE USE OF
EVIDENCE FOR CONVICTION
November 2, 2007, was a very sad day due to the murder of Meredith Kercher. This is the day
Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito lives were forever changed. This murder took place in Italy and
through this case the Criminal and Justice Systems were found to be very different from country to
country. This case specifically brought light how the United States and Italy are different when it
comes to finding justice for committing a murder. These differences consist of an examination of
justice, structure of the court systems and the use of evidence for conviction.
The Italian Justice System is an inquisitorial system (Huziker, 2016). In an inquisitorial system, the
court is involved in the investigation (Huziker, 2016). The judge and the prosecutor work together in
investigating the case (Huziker, 2016). This is interesting because, the judge also decides whether the
accused is innocent or guilty (Huziker, 2016). Before the trial starts and due to the inquisitorial system
used, the judge has a preconceived notion as to which way they want to favor (Huziker, 2016). The
Italian court is set up with three judges and six lay assessors of facts (Krings, 2015). There is no oath
taken for the defendant when they take the stand (Huziker, 2016). When it comes to the Amanda Knox
case, the main topic was on innocents or guilty (Linth, 2013).

The Jilting Of Granny Weatherall Rhetorical Analysis
This article discusses both the deeper meanings of the story as well as the stylistic methods Porter uses
to tell the story. The great insights offered by The Jilting of Granny Weatherall , are the sanctity of the
human heart and the existential loneliness of the human condition (Blake 3). The story shows how,
though Granny had a quite wholesome life having married well, bore children and successfully
operated a farm for years after her husband s death her being jilted by George left her with a lasting
wound that she was forced to hide from all of her loved ones. This shows humans fragility and how
people, once harmed, are never quite the same. Also, discussed by the essay s author is how Porter

and to experience the pain of her rejection (3). Analysis that is also of interest is Blake s point of view
on the use of floating images that are replaced by images of falling towards the end of the story.
Granny goes from float[ing] around in her skin to being curled down within herself (Porter).
Furthermore, his insight into this aspect of Porter s writing and its effect on the conveyance of the
story s message are illuminating and well supported. Overall, this article is well written and insightful
in reference to stylistic analysis, showing understanding of the text, but lacks perspicacity into the the
theme as it relates to the end of the

The Los Angeles Riots of 1992 Essay
April 26th, 1992, there was a riot on the streets, tell me where were you!? You were sittin home
watchin your TV, while I was paticipatin in some anarchy, these are the lyrics Sublime uses in their
song April 26, 1992 to describe what happened during the Los Angeles Riots of 1992. First spot we hit
it was my liquor store. I finally got all that alcohol I can t afford. With red lights flashin time to retire,
And then we turned that liquor store into a structure fire, people ,running through the streets, had no
pity when demolishing small businesses and taking what ever they may want from them. The streets,
neighborhoods, businesses were destroyed by angry protesters. Their reasons were clear, all they
wanted was some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That was not enough for some officers they believed King was resisting arrest. Due to their belief
some cops shot Rodney with a taser gun. Shortly several officers started to fiercely beat King with
their batons. We won that game didn t we, says officer Laurence Powell to his mates. George Holliday,
a men standing near the scene, video tapped the action. Rapidly this video was broadcasted not only
across America but around the world. It would not be ignored by its viewers. Everyone who tuned in
and watched was shocked. Justice was expected to be made towards the heartless cops who savagely
bet Rodney King.
When the judge, Bernard Kamins, who was Caucasian declared three of the four (also white) officers
not guilty the public saw his decision very racist. The riots began in the evening after the judgment,
and grew over the next two days, but they would continue for several days. Angry Los Angels
residents went out to the streets to show their fury. These people are angry and they have every right to
be! said a man to the news cameras during the destruction. Authorities failed miserably to control the
people. As time went by the madness did not decrease but enlarged.
The second day (Thursday, April 30, 1992) of rioting, the storekeepers did not stay put, but fought
back to protect their shops. News channels televised store owners fighting back with arms and other
weapons to protect what was theirs. Their attempts were

The Problem Of A Dichotomy Of Civil And Ethnic Nationalism
Not only economic, but also political realities of global process of democratization of the 1990s of the
20th century had impact on development of the political analysis of nationalism, having stabilized a
problem of the analysis of a ratio of civil and ethnic nationalism not so much in general theoretical,
but in a regional direction.
The problem of a dichotomy of civil nationalism (as inherent mainly in countries of Western Europe
and North America) and ethnic nationalism (widespread, according to the standard version, in the
countries of the Central and Eastern Europe) became a subject of scientific discussion.
Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the USA were distinguished as a political
type. Ideas of nation and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the second half of the 1990s, the problem of conceptualization of national identity is characterized
by the shift of emphasis on definition like national identification in the countries of democratic post
socialist transit. The considerable group of the researchers specializing in the field of the political
analysis of nationalism in post socialist New Europe remained on former positions and referred to the
features of national identity of the countries of this region to ethnic type. It is possible to determine
such prominent experts in nationalism problems in countries of Eastern Europe as Rogers Brubaker
and George Schopflin.
Brubaker puts forward the provision on prevalence in type of national identity of transit democracies
of Eastern Europe and Eurasia of ethno cultural aspect and lack of necessary conditions for an
interiorization of patterns of civil national identity. R. Brubaker comes to a conclusion that in these
countries, the creation of statehood was preceded by the nationalist movements, and the state was
created in interests of concrete ethno political group. In this regard, the researcher believes, in the new
democratic countries of Eurasia chances of distribution of patterns of civil identity are very small. In
new democracies, there was an institutionalization of the ethno cultural concept of national identity
which is distanced from the idea of civic consciousness and is focused on transfer of social
responsibility to structures of the power.

What Are Sports Players More Than Soldiers
Sports players on professional teams make more than soldiers. This may seem like a problem but it s
not. Sports players make more because they sell out stadiums and are paid from the money made
based on how many people watch them play for entertainment. The argument i have prepared should
help you view it from my perspective. While it is very true that soldiers provide for our country with
the protection, sports players do good for the people in our country as well. Make a wish foundation is
an organization where dying or extremely ill kids get to do one thing in their life they want to do most
and some choose to meet their favorite athlete / role model. The NHL and the Columbus Blue Jackets

Igbo Fear
Achebe uses the Ibo fear of white society to prove how fear can tear apart a society, by causing
individual submission and destruction. The Ibo had heard myths about the white men which lead to
their initial fear. The quote But I am greatly afraid. We have heard stories about white men who made
the powerful guns and strong drinks and took slaves across the seas, but no one thought the stories
were true. was Okonkwo s friend Obierika discussing the fear that he now had of the white men, after
learning stories about their practices. This illustrates how fear can lead to the crumbling of society
because when the Ibo fear the white men and the uncertain myths they have heard about them, it leads
to submission through fear of a superior power.

“Cinema Paradiso”
Cinema Paradiso
The film starts by showing a middle aged man, Salvatore, surrounded by society s symbols of success:
bright city lights, a Mercedes Benz, a luxurious mansion, and a beautiful woman in the background.
These symbols gave the impression that life was good.
Cinema Paradiso is a reminiscence film about a famous film director, Salvatore Di Vita (Marco
Leonardi), who returns home to a Sicilian village for the first time after almost 30 years. He
reminisces about his childhood at the Cinema Paradiso where Alfredo (Philippe Noiret), the
projectionist, helped little Salvatore a.k.a Toto discover the entertaining world of films. He is also
reminded of his lost teenage love, Elena (Agnese Nano). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the end of the film I really appreciated the relationship that Alfredo and Salvatore had with each
other. Alfredo saw this young troubled boy with such curiosity, and it was Alfredo who decided to
teach him, and be the father he never had. Being such an important figure in Salvatore s life, he had
the right to worry about him not turning out to be alone and unsuccessful like Alfredo. In his return to
his life in Rome, he was left with a gift from Alfredo who gave him a film reel containing all the
censored parts of the movies they had shown before in Cinema Paradiso. He then realized that even
though he failed in his relationships for the past years, he had one true friend who had always wanted
success and happiness for him above anything.
The movie theater was a huge part of the lives of the people who lived in Giancaldo. Not only was the
theater a great source of entertainment, but it was a place of togetherness. Even though it was a small
community, I feel that the cinema was responsible for the town to be so close to each other. At the end
of the film I felt that the closing of the theater really changed things in the town for the worse. There
was no longer that sense of togetherness. Earlier on in the film, when the theater was open, one was
able to see how close the community was. At the end, the whole community was changed, the same
people were there, but it was clear that something was

A Comparison Of Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Is love a special connection or is it something more physical? Throughout many centuries the
perspective of love has always revolved around an association that the two people have in common.
William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, we see how love is diverse; Romeo talked about Rosaline.
He mentioned that he was very depressed and even offered her money to marry him. Today, love is a
crave, something that people do not take much time to think on. To elaborate, love brings a
combination of emotions. This was shown by Shakespeare in Romeo and Juliet, when Romeo is in
love with Rosaline but once he sees Juliet, he falls for her. In the text it states, What a fool he was to
think he had been in love with Rosaline! He must have been blind. He

Vera Wang Advertising Analysis
Vera Wang is one of the most iconic designers in fashion today and this ad takes advantage of her
recognition. This image, most likely from a fashion magazine, promotes Vera Wang s dress line. The
advertisement uses three significant contrasts to draw the buyer in. First, the model in the actual dress
line. Second, the flourishing background the models are put in. It makes you think about what the
photographer was trying to portray. Lastly, the display case made the models are standing in and
around. The model in the front draws in the buyer, but the case is see through, allowing the viewer to
see the model standing on the back side and part of the models arm to the left. The image suggests that
someone who wears Vera Wang can have multiple styles and still feel good in whatever type of style
that is.
The greenery background gives the ad an interesting contrast. This is a nature setting, as implied by
the grass and plants. Most of this background is not very visible, as the models take up most of the
advertisement. The brightness of the plants suggest this photo was taken midday when the sun was at
its peak. It was taken with a shallow depth of field, meaning the background is blurred and the main
focus is on the objects in the front of the photo, The greenery is not very green, but fades into the
background. There are no animals in the trees in the back, maybe suggesting this was taken in a place
without a lot of wildlife, or the fact that there s no resources for these

Exploring How Peter Medak Gains the Viewer’s Sympathy for...
Exploring How Peter Medak Gains the Viewer s Sympathy for Derek Bentley in the Film Let Him
Have It! Peter Medak (Medak) chose to make this film because it had an interesting story line. Medak
might have wanted to prove that the justice system makes mistake and sometimes those mistakes
cannot be fixed, like the mistake or the Derek Bentley (Bentley) and Christopher Craig (Craig) case,
where someone was hanged for a miss interpretation of evidence. Film directors like Medak use bias
as their strong point; it keeps the viewers attention on the movie and begins to get the viewers to
imagine what they would do in the situation. The film is set in the 1950 s Britain. Bentley and Craig,
two teenagers, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Craig was more in the blame for killing the officer and should have got death penalty, as he pulled the
trigger. Bentley s life should have been spared as a lot of evidence given was bias and did not see
Bentley s point of view. Bentley was also epileptic and could never think for himself and always
followed someone. Medak gains our sympathy for Derek by basing the movie around the misfortunes
of his life. The opening scene of the blitz during world war II where Bentley is trapped under rubble,
as soon as they lift the rubble of the see Bentley having an epileptic fit, we already sympathise for
Bentley, during this scene Medak zooms in onto Bentley during the fit and reduces the volume of the
background and concentrates on the sound of Bentley. This opening scene is very effective; at this
point Medak has already gained our sympathy for Bentley as we he is a child who suffers from
epilepsy. In our minds we see a stereotype of a child being innocent. This scene is bias as it features on
Bentley only and not on any other characters so we straightaway feel sorry for him. We see no one
else s troubles apart from Bentley s, he emphasises on Bentley s innocence. This automatically makes
you question why it had to be him and not someone without an illness. During the blitz is not the only
time we feel sorry for Bentley.

  • 3. Vanadyl Sulfate Lab Report The experimental started out with the synthesis of VIVO(acac)2. The vanadyl sulfate was dissolve in distilled water and mixed with acetylacetone, which gave a dark blue solution. From the reaction, sulfate anion was present in the solution, which could react with water in the solution to make the acid, hydrogen sulfate. Therefore, the acid had to be neutralized with sodium bicarbonate. Upon adding sodium bicarbonate, the reaction bubbled releasing CO2 gas and the solution slightly increased to a lighter blue color. Upon completion of the reaction, the greenish blue precipitate was vacuum filtered and weighed. A mass of 0.4194g of VIVO(acac)2 with a percent yield of 24.8%. A third sample of zinc acetate dihydrate was used for benchtop magnetic susceptibility. By using the data from Table 1, the experimental magnet moment (Âľeff) was calculation using the equations in Appendix A. In the order of zinc acetate dihydrate, VIVO(acac)2 and FeIII(acac)3, the respective magnet moments were determined to be 2.96, 1.20 and 4.73. The data agrees with what would be expected looking at the electronic states of the metal atoms. Vanadium is in the D5 group of the period table so it is had five unpaired electrons in the D orbital. Since experimentally V(IV) is produced, that means vanadium has a positive four oxidation state reducing its unpaired electrons in the D orbital to one. For iron, it is in the D8 group and has a positive three oxidation state so it has a total of five unpaired electrons in its D orbital. Zinc is in the D10 group and is in the ground state, where all its electrons are paired. Since the magnetic susceptibility is measuring the number of unpaired electrons reacting with a magnetic field, the results demonstrate that by an increase in magnetic moments with the increase in the number of unpaired electrons. The only discrepancy with the data is that the two water molecules in the zinc acetate dihydrate wasn t accounted for in determining magnetic susceptibility. The magnetic moment of zinc acetate dihydrate was higher than ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On the other hand morals are also largely based on the social values of good and bad. However, people tend to define them as the standards and customs that guide the way of life towards good. In most cases of ethics and morality they are referring to acts of both good and bad deeds. Nonetheless, in a recent case with the FBI vs. the Government against Apple Inc. Company arose one of the key moral issues in the business world. Apple refused to offer a backdoor to one of the iPhones considered to be of the terrorists. Apple mentioned also in their letter to their customers that they were against terrorism. They continued to state that as a company they did everything in their power to help the FBI in investigating this case and catch these criminals. Since Apple operates their company based on certain values one of them being safeguarding their customer s data, this prompted decision to deny the FBI the software or backdoor that would ve risked the privacy of millions of iPhone users. The FBI however is willing to do just about anything to solve a case, one that especially involves serious criminals investigates. Keeping this in mind you can see why the FBI refused to think morally in favor of Apple and how this backdoor software would ve tarnished the reputation and decreased business for this company. Baldur was a generous, joyful, and courageous character who gladdened the hearts of all who spent time with him. When, therefore, he began to have ominous dreams of some grave misfortune befalling him, the fearful gods appointed Odin to discover their meaning. Odin mounted his eight legged steed, Sleipnir, and rode him to the underworld. When he reached the cold and misty underworld, he found the halls arrayed in splendor, as if some magnificent feast were about to occur. He soon found out that guest of honor for this festivity was to be none other than Baldur. Odin returned in sorrow to Asgard, the gods celestial stronghold, and told his fellow gods what he had been told. Frigg, wanting for any chance of saving her treasured son, went to every thing in the cosmos and obtained oaths to not harm Baldur. After these oaths were secured, the gods made a sport out of the situation. They threw sticks, rocks, and anything else on hand at Baldur, and everyone laughed as these things bounced off and left the shining god unharmed. Loki saw an opportunity to cause mischief and took it. In disguise, he went to Frigg and asked her, Did all things swear oaths to spare Baldur from harm? Oh, yes, the goddess replied, everything except the mistletoe. But the mistletoe is so small and innocent a thing that I felt it superfluous to ask it for an oath. What harm could it do to my son? Immediately after hearing this, Loki located the mistletoe, and brought it to where the gods were playing their new favorite game. Mechanical calculators came on the scene shortly after the slide rule was developed. Instead of needing the operator to apply algorithms to perform calculations as was the case with manual calculators, a mechanical calculator implemented algorithms autonomously. The operator entered the numbers for the calculations and pulled a lever/turned a wheel and the calculation would be carried out. Mechanical calculators were developed in 1623, one of them was called Shickard s calculator, which contained a series of interlocking gears. It had ten spokes and each spoke on a gear represented a digit. Each time that the gear made one complete revolution, it moved on to the next gear which was one notch to the left in order to carry the one . Moving on to 1642, Blaise Pascal developed what was known as the pascaline. A pascaline was a mechanical device that was used for both addition and subtraction as well as division and multiplication. Gottfried Whilhelm von Leibniz created a similar calculator in 1673. In 1820, however, Thomas de Colmar s Arithmometer was the first mass produced mechanical calculator. Soon, calculators wouldn t need human power in order to operate. In 1822, Charles Babbage created plans for a device that would be called the Difference Engine that would run only on steam power. It was made to rapidly and accurately calculate large tables of numbers that were used for engineering and astronomical applications. The blueprints for the Difference Engine ... The exhibition is dedicated to those who did not return from World War I, it is a moving and important exhibition that commemorates those who did not return and Alabama s part in the war. Before visiting the exhibition, I understood America s role in the Great War, however, I did not know the role that Alabama played in the war. • 20. Antibiotics Combat Infectious Bacteria Introduction: Antibiotics have the ability to kill or hinder the growth of bacteria. Antibiotics contain compounds that are naturally produced by organisms to combat diseases caused by microbes. Discovery of penicillin by Sir Alexander Fleming became the first stepping stone of many new antibiotics of today s modern medicine. Antibiotics typically invade the very components that make up bacteria, such as cell walls and metabolic pathways (Sato et al., 2014). However, frequent mutations of bacteria cause today s strains to become more resistant. One of many ways which bacteria undergo mutation is through horizontal transfer of genes (Lindsay J.A., 2013). Polymyxin B is known to only be effective against Gram negative bacteria, which was consistent with the collected data. Gram positive effective antibiotics and protein synthesis inhibitors such as azithromycin and tetracycline were expected to be ineffective to Gram negative bacteria, along with DNA dependent RNA polymerase inhibitor such as rifampin. However, contrasting results were depicted after 48 hours of incubation at 37⁰C. The bacteria appeared to be susceptible to azithromycin when the bacteria were anticipated to be resistant. This discrepancy could be explained through the molecular mechanism of azithromycin. Azithromycin induces adenine methylation in the rRNA in the 50S ribosomal subunit, and past experiments have indicated that it has a higher affinity for the erythromycin binding site for the ribosome to cause azithromycin to be more susceptible in Gram negative bacteria (Retsema et al., 1987). In addition, a polypeptide inhibitor such as penicillin was anticipated to be susceptible to the Gram negative bacteria, but it was displayed to be resistant. Penicillin is known to be a β lactam antibiotic consisting of β lactam ring that inhibits the cell wall synthesis of Enterobacteriaceae. A prevalent mechanism for resistance to β lactam antibiotic is hyperproduction of β lactamase (Philippon et al., 2002). Moreover, it is proposed that bacteria are resistant to penicillin due to the formation of microbial colony biofilm (Thomson ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The opening part of the piece has a significant amount of dissonance, bringing a sense of anxiety and desire for the piece to end. As it rises, the listener is both anxious for an ending and a resolution. The piano is this ending. The piece then picks up in a minor key, entering a more mystical and quiet place. The piano takes precedence with the cello sitting in the background yet when the listener thinks the pieces will be piano heavy, the cello takes over the piano withdraws to the background. The deep vibratos of the cello are contrasted with the light single key of the piano. This leads the listener to associate the cello with a lament and the piano for hope. THE ITALIAN STRUCTURE OF THE COURTS SYSTEMS, AND THE USE OF EVIDENCE FOR CONVICTION November 2, 2007, was a very sad day due to the murder of Meredith Kercher. This is the day Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito lives were forever changed. This murder took place in Italy and through this case the Criminal and Justice Systems were found to be very different from country to country. This case specifically brought light how the United States and Italy are different when it comes to finding justice for committing a murder. These differences consist of an examination of justice, structure of the court systems and the use of evidence for conviction. The Italian Justice System is an inquisitorial system (Huziker, 2016). In an inquisitorial system, the court is involved in the investigation (Huziker, 2016). The judge and the prosecutor work together in investigating the case (Huziker, 2016). This is interesting because, the judge also decides whether the accused is innocent or guilty (Huziker, 2016). Before the trial starts and due to the inquisitorial system used, the judge has a preconceived notion as to which way they want to favor (Huziker, 2016). The Italian court is set up with three judges and six lay assessors of facts (Krings, 2015). There is no oath taken for the defendant when they take the stand (Huziker, 2016). When it comes to the Amanda Knox case, the main topic was on innocents or guilty (Linth, 2013). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. The Jilting Of Granny Weatherall Rhetorical Analysis This article discusses both the deeper meanings of the story as well as the stylistic methods Porter uses to tell the story. The great insights offered by The Jilting of Granny Weatherall , are the sanctity of the human heart and the existential loneliness of the human condition (Blake 3). The story shows how, though Granny had a quite wholesome life having married well, bore children and successfully operated a farm for years after her husband s death her being jilted by George left her with a lasting wound that she was forced to hide from all of her loved ones. This shows humans fragility and how people, once harmed, are never quite the same. Also, discussed by the essay s author is how Porter contrasted simple diction and the stream of consciousness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The conclusion of this story suggests the ultimate loneliness for a devout Catholic, the absence of God; the impact of this event should have been further scrutinized and explored to convey understanding of its implications. In the section of the text dedicated to stylistic exploration, the author provides a competent analysis of the diction and methods used in the story that show understanding of the text. Blake describes the effect of the stream of conscience technique in this writing by equating the reader s experience to one who is able to enter Granny Weatherall s mind, to share her memories, and to experience the pain of her rejection (3). Analysis that is also of interest is Blake s point of view on the use of floating images that are replaced by images of falling towards the end of the story. Granny goes from float[ing] around in her skin to being curled down within herself (Porter). Furthermore, his insight into this aspect of Porter s writing and its effect on the conveyance of the story s message are illuminating and well supported. Overall, this article is well written and insightful in reference to stylistic analysis, showing understanding of the text, but lacks perspicacity into the the theme as it relates to the end of the ... The problem of a dichotomy of civil nationalism (as inherent mainly in countries of Western Europe and North America) and ethnic nationalism (widespread, according to the standard version, in the countries of the Central and Eastern Europe) became a subject of scientific discussion. The considerable group of the researchers specializing in the field of the political analysis of nationalism in post socialist New Europe remained on former positions and referred to the features of national identity of the countries of this region to ethnic type. It is possible to determine such prominent experts in nationalism problems in countries of Eastern Europe as Rogers Brubaker and George Schopflin. Brubaker puts forward the provision on prevalence in type of national identity of transit democracies of Eastern Europe and Eurasia of ethno cultural aspect and lack of necessary conditions for an interiorization of patterns of civil national identity. R. Brubaker comes to a conclusion that in these countries, the creation of statehood was preceded by the nationalist movements, and the state was created in interests of concrete ethno political group. In this regard, the researcher believes, in the new democratic countries of Eurasia chances of distribution of patterns of civil identity are very small. In new democracies, there was an institutionalization of the ethno cultural concept of national identity which is distanced from the idea of civic consciousness and is focused on transfer of social responsibility to structures of the power. Sports players make more because they sell out stadiums and are paid from the money made based on how many people watch them play for entertainment. While it is very true that soldiers provide for our country with the protection, sports players do good for the people in our country as well. These symbols gave the impression that life was good. Cinema Paradiso is a reminiscence film about a famous film director, Salvatore Di Vita (Marco Leonardi), who returns home to a Sicilian village for the first time after almost 30 years. He reminisces about his childhood at the Cinema Paradiso where Alfredo (Philippe Noiret), the projectionist, helped little Salvatore a.k.a Toto discover the entertaining world of films. At the end of the film I really appreciated the relationship that Alfredo and Salvatore had with each other. Alfredo saw this young troubled boy with such curiosity, and it was Alfredo who decided to teach him, and be the father he never had. Being such an important figure in Salvatore s life, he had the right to worry about him not turning out to be alone and unsuccessful like Alfredo. In his return to his life in Rome, he was left with a gift from Alfredo who gave him a film reel containing all the censored parts of the movies they had shown before in Cinema Paradiso. He then realized that even though he failed in his relationships for the past years, he had one true friend who had always wanted success and happiness for him above anything. At the end of the film I felt that the closing of the theater really changed things in the town for the worse. There was no longer that sense of togetherness. • 46. A Comparison Of Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet Is love a special connection or is it something more physical? Throughout many centuries the perspective of love has always revolved around an association that the two people have in common. William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, we see how love is diverse; Romeo talked about Rosaline. He mentioned that he was very depressed and even offered her money to marry him. Today, love is a crave, something that people do not take much time to think on. To elaborate, love brings a combination of emotions. This was shown by Shakespeare in Romeo and Juliet, when Romeo is in love with Rosaline but once he sees Juliet, he falls for her. • 47. Vera Wang Advertising Analysis Vera Wang is one of the most iconic designers in fashion today and this ad takes advantage of her recognition. This image, most likely from a fashion magazine, promotes Vera Wang s dress line. The advertisement uses three significant contrasts to draw the buyer in. First, the model in the actual dress line. Second, the flourishing background the models are put in. It makes you think about what the photographer was trying to portray. Lastly, the display case made the models are standing in and around. The model in the front draws in the buyer, but the case is see through, allowing the viewer to see the model standing on the back side and part of the models arm to the left. The image suggests that someone who wears Vera Wang can have multiple styles and still feel good in whatever type of style that is. The greenery background gives the ad an interesting contrast. This is a nature setting, as implied by the grass and plants. Most of this background is not very visible, as the models take up most of the advertisement. The brightness of the plants suggest this photo was taken midday when the sun was at its peak. It was taken with a shallow depth of field, meaning the background is blurred and the main focus is on the objects in the front of the photo, The greenery is not very green, but fades into the background. • 48. Exploring How Peter Medak Gains the Viewer’s Sympathy for... Exploring How Peter Medak Gains the Viewer s Sympathy for Derek Bentley in the Film Let Him Have It! Peter Medak (Medak) chose to make this film because it had an interesting story line. Medak might have wanted to prove that the justice system makes mistake and sometimes those mistakes cannot be fixed, like the mistake or the Derek Bentley (Bentley) and Christopher Craig (Craig) case, where someone was hanged for a miss interpretation of evidence. Film directors like Medak use bias as their strong point; it keeps the viewers attention on the movie and begins to get the viewers to imagine what they would do in the situation. The film is set in the 1950 s Britain. Bentley and Craig, two teenagers, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Craig was more in the blame for killing the officer and should have got death penalty, as he pulled the trigger. Bentley s life should have been spared as a lot of evidence given was bias and did not see Bentley s point of view. Bentley was also epileptic and could never think for himself and always followed someone. Medak gains our sympathy for Derek by basing the movie around the misfortunes of his life. The opening scene of the blitz during world war II where Bentley is trapped under rubble, as soon as they lift the rubble of the see Bentley having an epileptic fit, we already sympathise for Bentley, during this scene Medak zooms in onto Bentley during the fit and reduces the volume of the background and concentrates on the sound of Bentley. This opening scene is very effective; at this point Medak has already gained our sympathy for Bentley as we he is a child who suffers from epilepsy. In our minds we see a stereotype of a child being innocent. This scene is bias as it features on Bentley only and not on any other characters so we straightaway feel sorry for him. We see no one else s troubles apart from Bentley s, he emphasises on Bentley s innocence. This automatically makes you question why it had to be him and not someone without an illness. During the blitz is not the only time we feel sorry for Bentley. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
