The Importance Of Diversity In America
Diversity is known as having people who are different races or who have different cultures working in
a group or organization. A diverse organization is one that values the difference in people. It is one
that recognizes that people with different backgrounds, expertise, attitudes and experiences bring fresh
ideas and perceptions to the organization. Teach for America is one that prioritize diversity throughout
their organization, in fact, diversity is one of their core values. While I started out knowing that
diversity would be important, over time I ve seen firsthand that achieving greater levels of diversity,
particularly with respect to race and economic background, is in fact vital to our long term success

Moblie Phone Technology and The Social Impact Thereof Essay
INTRODUCTION Mobile phone technology is a technology that a vast majority of us would be
familiar with, allowing one to call from almost anywhere, anytime as long as they connected a
network. Mobile phones revolutionised the world of personal communication, because of this it is
important that the impacts that the technology has had on the community. This essay will trace, in
brief, the history of mobile phone technology along with an examination of the social impacts that this
technology has had. HISTORY OF MOBILE PHONES While mobile phones are easy to obtain today,
it was decades after the technology was discovered, that they became available on the public market.

Literral (n.d.) asserts that in addition to being smaller 2G mobiles introduced new digital circuit
switched transmissions, quick telephone to network signals and SMS (para. 5 6) The third generation
of mobile or 3G, the current mobile generation, was first introduced commercially October of 2001 in
Japan. 3G offers a wider range of services, such as Broadband internet and high tech video calls
(Literral, n.d. para. 7 8). SOCIAL IMPACTS While the telecommunications industry has been
revolutionised by the mobile phone, several social issues have arisen from its usage. Areas of concern
include social impacts on young people, problems with road safety, social etiquette issues and impacts
in educational settings. The introduction of the mobile phone has begun to cause changes in the
behaviour of young people as the technology becomes more and more central to their everyday life.
Mobile phone technology allows for the quick arranging or rearranging of social functions (Geser,
2004, as cited in Campbell, 2005, p. 4). This can then allow a more fluid culture of information social
interaction (Geser, 2004, as quoted in Campbell, 2005, p. 4). Also, mobile phones allow closer contact
to peers; although, this is not necessarily a good thing. As this can lead to parents having no
knowledge of whom their children are contacting regularly (Davie, Panting, Charlton, 2004, as cited
in Campbell, 2005, p. 6).

Bill Gates Theories
Within this essay it will include a theorist that is relevant to the chosen entrepreneur and their
entrepreneurial motivations and their characteristics. Being an entrepreneur requires specific
characteristics and skills that are often achieved through education, hard work and planning. An
entrepreneur is an individual who accepts some sort of risk usually financial in the pursuit of new
ventures. The word can apply to any person organising a new project or opportunity, though it is most
often used in a business context. A person in this role is often characterised as innovative,
independents optimistic, creative, and hard working.
William Gates III was born in Seattle on October 28, 1955. His father, William Henry Gates was a
lawyer whereas his mother, Mary Gates, was a teacher. Bill Gates was born into a rich family
business, political and community service background. David Bulter stated His high profile
achievements as global entrepreneurs are held up as charismatic example, almost a role model of what
is best in entrepreneurship. (D.Bulter, P9) this is showing that Bill Gates is by far one of the most
successful people on the planet. He has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to charities and
created the largest software company in the world. Bill Gates influence in the entrepreneurship world
is unlike any other entrepreneur out there. Bill Gates has become one of the most important minds and
personalities of our era, Bill Gates bold actions and his curious

Aint Mountain High Enough Analysis
The song that I have chosen to do an analysis on is Aint Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye
Tammi Terrell. This song was originally debuted in 1966 and it was very popular at the time. The song
has a very upbeat rhythm. It is in the soul, rhythm and blues and pop genre. The song is very soulful.
The producer of the song was Tamla Motown label and this song was considered to be one of the
labels best singles. The song was written by Nickolas Ashford Valerie Simpson. It did very well in in
United States. The song became a hit again when it was recorder by Diana Ross in 1970.There has
since been many artists who have done a cover for this song as it is a very popular song. The song

Controversy Between William Shakespeare s Plays And Plays
William Shakespeare has been marred by controversy of whether or not he actually wrote his plays
and poems. William was born on April 23, 1564, in Stratford Upon Avon, United Kingdom. Although
he is a famous author and playwright, his early history is actually a cloudy mystery. William
Shakespeare didn t write his plays and poems because his entire family had a lack of education, there
isn t any other documents, such as letters or journals, and he never left Avon or London and all of his
plays were staged in Italy.
The majority of the residents in Avon couldn t read or write. All of William s family, and most likely
him, weren t an exception. He had minimal education, going to grammar school, only because it was
free. The grammar school ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other top tier writers would have journals or letters. Especially if he was in London, he more than
likely would ve written to write letters back to his wife and children. He didn t have any other written
documents or signatures besides birth records. If he wrote the plays, then he would ve had more
signatures and documents that he wrote. Many may suggest that Shakespeare actually did write his
poems and plays. But, all of the plays were staged in Italy. He never left Avon besides to go to
London. The setting of Italy was very accurate. He would ve had to go there, which he didn t. And you
couldn t go to Google and look up pictures of Italy, or just text someone and have them send you
pictures and videos. It is a major controversy about if William actually wrote his plays or not. Some
believe Francis Bacon could ve done it. Most historians believe Avon was too poor to produce a writer
of such a high caliber. It is also a possibility that Sir Walter Raleigh wrote them and said that
Shakespeare wrote them. William didn t or couldn t write his plays because, his entire family had a
lack of education, there isn t any other documents, such as letters or journals, and he never left Avon
or London and all of his plays were staged in

General Introduction

Author: Alexander Hamilton
To the People of the State of New York:
AFTER an unequivocal experience of the inefficiency of the subsisting federal government, you are
called upon to deliberate on a new Constitution for the United States of America. The subject speaks
its own importance; comprehending in its consequences nothing less than the existence of the UNION,
the safety and welfare of the parts of which it is composed, the fate of an empire in many respects the
most interesting in the world. It has been frequently remarked that it seems to have been reserved to
the people of this country, by their conduct and example, to decide the important question, whether

It is not, however, my design to dwell upon observations of this nature. I am well aware that it would
be disingenuous to resolve indiscriminately the opposition of any set of men (merely because their
situations might subject them to suspicion) into interested or ambitious views. Candor will oblige us to
admit that even such men may be actuated by upright intentions; and it cannot be doubted that much
of the opposition which has made its appearance, or may hereafter make its appearance, will spring
from sources, blameless at least, if not respectable the honest errors of minds led astray by
preconceived jealousies and fears. So numerous indeed and so powerful are the causes which serve to
give a false bias to the judgment, that we, upon many occasions, see wise and good men on the wrong
as well as on the right side of questions of the first magnitude to society. This circumstance, if duly
attended to, would furnish a lesson of moderation to those who are ever so much persuaded of their

Essay Thomas Jefferson and Monticello
A person s house can show you a lot about that person. In my own room you would probably find that
I have a big appreciation for books, but don t you wonder what the inventor and third president s
house showed you what he was like? Thomas Jefferson was a very important man; however, there are
many more sides to him than you think. Initially, the Northeast Portico displays Thomas Jefferson s
deep appreciation for Architecture. Jefferson himself got the idea for this wall from James Gibb s
Book of Architecture. He used the book and designed a wall based on one of his designs. The original
blueprint was supposed to be used for an octagonal structure, and Jefferson used it for just one wall.
This shows that Jefferson cares for architecture ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next, his Mandan Buffalo Robe also shows his understanding of history and the arts. Most painted
robes were used as traditional clothing and articles of trade for Native Americans. Some of these robes
are painted with a scene usually a scene that the person receiving the robe fought in. Meriwether
Lewis and William Clark sent a package to Thomas Jefferson filled with seven buffalo robes one that
had a painted scene. Putting a piece from a famous expedition shows that he is aware that he must
preserve a piece of history so that s other can look back at this piece of history. Thomas Jefferson
understands the History and Arts very much, so his Entry Hall reflects this part of him.
Jefferson s love of people and games are evident in the parlor room. The Parlor Room was filled with
many paintings of important figures and friends of Jefferson s. Benjamin Franklin, George
Washington, and Thomas Jefferson Randolph are just some of the many paintings included in the
parlor. He had used this room as a place to invite friends and colleagues to come over and play games
and have fun. Jefferson included many chairs, in this room to have lots of people over and allow them
to sit down whenever they would like too. The parlor room was often a place for family weddings,
dances, and christenings. A wedding is a cheerful ceremony between two families joining together.
Weddings have families that bring cheer and happiness. An anti social person would

Chin The World s Largest Producer Of Coke
Coke Industry China is the world s largest producer of coke, and there is evidence that China has for
the last decade manipulated production and prices. According to the OECD, China s use of export
quotas became more commonplace starting in 2004 and continued for several years. Coke export
allocations of 12 million tons in 2008 were cut to 11.9 million tons in 2009, to 9 million tons in 2010
and to 8.4 million tons in 2011. As China rolled out the export quota over these years, it concurrently
started to introduce export taxes on coke in 2006. The graph below shows China s ad valorem export
tax rates compared to Russia and the rest of the world in 2012. As depicted, China s export tax was
approximately 40%, while Russia s was significantly lower at 5% and the rest of the world almost non
existent.
This export tax essentially raised the price that importers abroad, including the United States, had to
pay at the end, making U.S. buyers of coke less competitive in the global supply chain. The added ad
valorem tax would suppress demand, thereby reducing the price that sellers would receive on the
market. When considering the aftermath of China s loss in the 2013 WTO case, it was forced to
eliminate the export restraint measures on the 9 raw materials, including coke. As a result, a tax free
situation meant that Chinese coke became cheaper again, which would have led to an increased supply
of coke exports to the United States.

Power Of Words In The Book Thief By Markus Zusak
In the Book Thief by: Markus Zusak, the quote: power of words or languages to heal destroy is very
important because of the part that words played in how the characters in the book felt when they were
spoken. Some words were to dehumanize a people, to take away all hope of a the a freedom that they
once knew, and also words were used to give hope in a time that seemed hopeless. The leaders and
soldiers used their words to excite fear in the hearts of those that they were terrorizing. Liesel used her
words to give comfort in otherwise stressful environment filled with fear and death. This is an
accurate depiction of how words can heal and destroy depending on the context in which they are
used. Words are very important in this book because

Physical Abuse Of Child Abuse
According to the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) physical child abuse occurs
when a parent or caregiver commits an intentional act that results in physical injury to a child or
adolescent, such as red marks, cuts, welts, bruises, muscle sprains, or broken bones. Physical abuse
can occur when physical punishment goes too far or a parent acts out in anger. Even corporal
punishment that do not result in physical injury are considered physical abuse and are outlawed in
some states. Children of all ages, races, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds are at risk for
physical abuse. Children ages 4 7 and 12 15 are at the greatest risk of being physically abused. Very
young children are most susceptible to receiving serious injuries because they are more vulnerable and
depend on others to care for them (NCTSN, 2009). An estimated 1 in 4 children living in the United
States experience some form of maltreatment. In 2014, more than 6.6 million children and their
families were reported to Child Protective Services for allegations of child maltreatment (Ho, Gross,
Bettencourt, 2017). In most states, the harm must have been inflicted by non accidental means. This
includes intentional acts, actions that were careless (such as, allowing a known sexual offender or
known abuser to be with a child alone), and acts of negligence (such as, leaving a child under a certain
age at home alone). Some of the examples listed as child abuse may not be viewed as abuse to certain

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Natural Rubber
Natural rubber also known as india rubber. It is made by the juice of a tree, which is coagulated using
acetic acid, smoked and dried. Natural rubber consist of polymers of the organic compound isoprene
with some organic compound and water. Natural rubber are used in many applications and products.
This is because natural rubber contain large stretch ratio and high resilience and it is waterproof.
Rubber have unique physical properties and chemical properties. Rubber s stress strain is modelled as

Due to the particle size of carbon black it contain some risk. This can caused lung disease because of
the combustion of carbon black at the workplace. It will release some dust may produce discomfort to
the upper respiratory tract. On the other hand, carbon black is not easily biodegradable. Carbon black
is expensive compared to other material.
There are reasons why natural rubber was chosen to make part of tyres. The first reason is natural
rubber has high tensile strength. Because of this high tensile strength natural rubber can hold shape
and is more flexible. Second, natural rubber is more environmental friendly compared to synthetic
rubber. This is because it is originally derived from latex which produced from tree. Besides, natural
rubber is a biodegradable material. It can be degrade rapidly especially under some extreme conditions
such as soil. Soil contain some microorganism, bacteria or fungi it help to degrade rubber.
The reason for choosing carbon black as addition material in fillers is it has decreased rolling
resistance. Other than that, carbon black is also help to extend the life of the tyres by conducting heat
away from the tread and the belt area. These can directly contributed to reductions in greenhouse gas
emissions. Carbon black also acts as a pigment, while made the rubber become black so the tyres is

Analysis Of Love Actually By Richard Curtis
The movie Love Actually (2003) by Richard Curtis demonstrates how the connections between people
are limitless and that love is a concept that has the ability to lift people up and tear people down. The
movie follows the lives of nine different relationships and the audience is able to see every aspect of
love, romantic, platonic, familial and more. In an article by Ben Dreyfuss, he points out that most
critics of the film point like to say that Love Actually is a saccharine soulless picture that relies on an
emotionally manipulative soundtrack and has nothing to say but somehow takes 136 minutes to say it
(Dreyfuss). However, that is not the case. This movie has had a lot of controversy since the release in
2003. In this paper I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This film does a great job of showing that not all loves are happy and pleasant all the time. In an
article written by Seija Rankin, she points out that people do refer to their desired relationships in the
context of popular films . (Rankin) This is a reason why this film is so important, especially in today s
culture of romanticizing everything. People need to see real world examples of what love looks like.
They need to be aware that love does not always go right, and everything is not always flowers and
daisies. While the Prime minister and Natalie s story worked out, not everyone in the films did.
Love Actually is just that, portraying love as in actually is. Not just the pleasant happily ever side but
also what happens after happily ever after. For example, the story of Juliet, Peter, and Mark. Joliet and
Peter get married at the beginning of the film and Mark is the best man. Juliet has always had the
impression that Mark did not like her as he never really made any attempts to get closer to her or get
to know her in any way. Through a series of event Juliet finds out that Mark has actually been in love
with her the entire time. Once she finds this out at the end of the film Mark shows up and tells her yes,
he is in love with her, but he knows that they can not be together. This highlights the unhappy sides to
love. When one s love cannot be returned by the one they desire. It shows the audience that just

The Culture Of The Peoples From The Highlands Of Guatemala
Internally displaced peoples from the highlands of Guatemala, as in much of Latin America, often
seek refuge in the outskirts of their nations capitals. In Guatemala City and in other populous
Guatemalan cities throughout the country, families have made their lives anew after years of violence
and tragedy. The history of mass migration towards city centers and their outskirts can be traced to the
overthrow of the democratically elected president Jacobo Arbenz, in the year 1954, which was the
catalyst for a 36 year long civil war in the Central American nation. Many of the countries indigenous
Mayan population faced and still face high levels of discrimination, genocidal violence, inadequate
housing, coupled with high infant mortality rates, and low levels of literacy and education attainment,
their plight is one that is well documented. The indigenous populations have remained in a more or
less stagnate position, until recent upturns in the 21st century. In addition, in the year 1992, Rigoberta
Menchu, an indigenous Mayan woman was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her activism and
account of the extent of the Guatemalan genocide. The Guatemalan republic one with high levels of
biodiversity, and extremely abundant in natural resources such a woods, jades, and minerals, I argue,
has lead it s poor and its disenfranchised on a road towards high ecological and environmental
disaster, through misuse of their military, inadequate policy, and planning when it comes to the
dangers

Character education defines how a child should act morally and is one of the most important lessons to
learn in a classroom. Parents have to teach right from wrong, but teachers spend large amounts of time
with their students and need to enforce what parents have taught to their children. The power of
technology highlights the expanding use of devices rather than usage of textbooks and pencils. I

Gonadotropins Research Paper
Injectable Fertility drugs (gonadotropins)
What are gonadotropins?
Gonadotropins are injectable fertility medications, containing follicle stimulating hormone (FSH)
alone or combined with luteinizing hormone (LH). During a natural menstrual cycle, both FSH and
LH are produced by the pituitary gland in the brain to naturally stimulate the ovaries to produce a
single egg each month. When FSH (with or without LH) is given as an injection, it works directly on
the ovaries to make multiple follicles (cysts containing eggs).
Gonadotropins are used during fertility treatments such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro
fertilization (IVF). Injections of gonadotropins are started early in the menstrual cycle to cause
multiple eggs to grow to a mature size. Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), another injectable
medication, is then used to trigger the release of the eggs when they are mature. Close monitoring of
patients with ultrasound who are using these medications is advised in order to minimize the side
effects and risks. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When FSH is given in larger amounts than would occur in a natural menstrual cycle it results in more
than one egg being ripened and matured.
1. Sometimes if you are not ovulating, Gonadotrophins are given in the amount roughly equal to that
of a natural menstrual cycle and this is called ovulation induction.
2. Gonadotrophins are commonly used in IVF cycles. The intention here is to produce ideally 10 to 15
eggs with the aim of fertilizing them outside the body. The reason why so many eggs are necessary is
that the process of IVF is relatively inefficient and the more eggs that are available for fertilization, the
more likely pregnancy is to

Summary Of Long Term Memory In Mrs. Dalloway
Humans possess the feature of long term memory, which enables their past experiences to
continuously affect their contemporary lives. Though long term memory is a significant component in
the development of an individual s identity, many times this factor prevents one from discovering
opportunities to modify one s present and future lives. One s long term memory can cause a person to
revisit and enhance false emotions about one s past to ultimately lose sense of reality. In Mrs.
Dalloway, Peter Walsh and Clarissa Dalloway reflect upon their younger selves; however, they both
result in different outlets to combat these thoughts. Peter keeps a pocket knife with him in case his
past with Clarissa confronts him though he chooses to see Clarissa. As Peter physically comes back
into Clarissa s life, she is determined to change her feelings that her long term memory provokes in
her especially concerning Peter. However, Rezia and Septimus take a different approach to dealing
with their long term memories, as Rezia wants to rekindle her pre war relationship with Septimus,
which is unsuccessful. Virginia Woolf uses the motifs of cutting and sewing simultaneously to
illustrate that to find contentment in one s current life, one must cut off one s past to be able to
progress forward into a new life.
Peter plays with his pocket knife whenever he is with Clarissa to symbolize the unexplainable
emotions Peter experiences with Clarissa and his desire to remove these tensions by

Stakeholders Theory
The stakeholder theory is a theory of organizational management and business ethics that addresses
morals and values in managing an organization.[1] It was originally detailed by R. Edward Freeman in
the book Strategic Management: A Stakeholder Approach, and identifies and models the groups which
are stakeholders of a corporation, and both describes and recommends methods by which management
can give due regard to the interests of those groups. In short, it attempts to address the Principle of
Who or What Really Counts. [2]
In the traditional view of the firm, the shareholder view (the only one recognized in business law in
most countries), the shareholders or stockholders are the owners of the company, and the firm has a

In contrast, Stakeholder theory argues that every legimate person or group participating in the
activities of a firm do so to obtain benefits and that the priority of the interests of all legitimate
stakeholders is not self evident.
Donaldson and Preston offer four central theses related to stakeholder theory.
1) Stakeholder Theory is descriptive in that it offers a model of the corporation.
2) Stakeholder Theory is instrumental in offering a framework for investigating the links between
conventional firm performance and the practice of stakeholder management.
3) Although Stakeholder Theory is descriptive and instrumental, it is more fundamentally normative.
Stakeholders are identified by their interests and all stakeholder interests are considered to be
intrinsically valuable.
4) Stakeholder Theory is managerial in that it recommends attitudes, structures, and practices and
requires that simultaneous attention be given to the interests of all legitimate stakeholders. |

Advantages Of Niche Marketing
An Article on
GROOVING BY NICHE MARKETING
Jaideep Singh
Assistant Professor
(P.I.M.T) P.M.N. College,

Abstract:
Niche marketing refers to the submarket where specific products are marketed. More specifically
niche marketing refers to narrow market segment where products with special offering survives. Niche
marketing basically works with a concept of `Big fish in small pond. ` By targeting a niche market, the
marketer can serve in more specialized manner and can create a situation of monopoly. The market
notices the difference in the value of services provided by a niche marketer and generates loyalty.
Now the companies are realizing the power of niche marketing and ... Show more content on

Small or medium size businessman often functions as niche marketers focusing on specific customers.
Niche marketers are generally small or medium sized firms due to their focus on narrow market
segment. Larger firms due to lack of flexibility scope are generally reluctant to enter niche marketing.
However there are exceptions to this belief. For example Johnson Johnson, Procter Gamble, Rolex
watches, Nike, Roll Royce are some of the renowned firms which opt niche marketing.
Limitations in Niche Marketing:
One of the limitations of niche marketing is that this market strategy is not suitable for long term
business because of the fact that niche does not offer sufficient business. In case if one`s business has
to rely on selling large quantity or large number of products then niche marketing is not a place to
business.
If the niche market is invaded by large firms then it will be very difficult for small or medium sized
firms to compete question of survival may come.
If any firm is solely dependent on niche marketing then its survival chances get reduced as the niche
market is not that adequate significant that one can totally rely on

Essay on Benedict Arnold
Benedict Arnold
The name Benedict Arnold has become a synonym for a traitor to one s country. In the first years of
the American Revolution, however, Arnold was a brilliant and dashing general, highly respected for
his service to the patriot cause (see Revolution, American).
Benedict Arnold was born on Jan. 14, 1741, in Norwich, Conn. His father,
Benedict, was a well to do landowner. His mother was Hannah King Waterman Arnold.
While a boy, young Arnold twice ran away to join the colonial troops fighting in the French and Indian
War. When he was 21 he settled in New Haven. In time he became a prosperous merchant and a
captain in the Connecticut militia. He married Margaret Mansfield in 1767. They had three sons.

He was given a command and about 6,300. He served with the British for the rest of the war, leading
troops on raids in Virginia and Connecticut. After the war he lived with his family in England. He
failed to obtain a regular commission in the British army and failed also in several business ventures,
including land speculation in Canada. He died in London on June 14, 1801.
In the first years of the American Revolution, Arnold was a brilliant and courageous general, highly
respected for his service to the patriot cause.
Benedict Arnold was born on Jan. 14, 1741, in Norwich, Conn. He was a very daring boy. He once ran
on a millwheel with another kid. He was also known to love fireworks and once was caught lighting a
jug of gunpowder that would have resulted in a big explosion. When he was a little older (about 17),
Arnold twice ran away to join the colonial troops fighting in the French and Indian War.
When he was 21 he moved to New Haven. In time he became a prosperous merchant and a captain in
the Connecticut militia. He married Margaret Mansfield in 1767.
They had three sons.
Arnold played a gallant part in the American Revolution and became a major general in 1777. His
wife had died in 1775 and early in 1779 he married Margaret
Shippen, by whom he had four sons and one daughter. Arnold was not careful with his money and
soon found himself hard up for cash. It was because of this that he began his treasonable activities.

Semiotics In Tv Show
Semiotics, also known as semiology, is the study of signs, symbols, and signification. Signs and
symbols are hidden throughout television shows and movies, especially in crime dramas like NCIS.
Shows like this are notorious for having discreet connections between different points of the story. In
one particular episode entitled Missing, a Marine, Bill Atlas, disappears from a bar where, just
moments before, he was having a paranoid conversation with a reporter. Before leaving, Atlas finishes
a drink brought to him by the bartender, who says it s from a secret admirer. He goes outside to smoke
a cigarette and before he could even light it he losses consciousness. Atlas soon wakes up chained to
pole next to a decomposing body, and immediately knows why this is all happening, but not who is
doing it. ( Missing ). Throughout the entire episode, Atlas is trapped in a cell located in the sewers
experiencing several different forms of torture, that the audience later learns are intentional signs.
Starvation and leaving the dead body inside the cell are the more standard methods Atlas captor uses,
but the audience is shocked when the next method is imposed. The mysterious captor releases a swarm
of honey bees into his cell without saying a word. Once the shock of the bees wears of both the
audience and Atlas, the captor returns but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, later in the episode the audience finds out that the other missing Marines, including
Atlas, tried to smuggle Japanese women into America on cargo ships. The girls end up getting left
behind on the ship, having to endure the same torture being administered to Atlas. However, the silver
cross necklace serves as a sign to each of the Marines being kept in the cells. One of the girls on the
ship was wearing the same necklace. It was thrown into the cell as a way to let the victim know
exactly why this was happening to

Traditional Family Values
Where do family values stand in today s world? There is the traditional family that make ends meet no
matter what and more common today is the modern family that take divorce like it is no big deal.
Kingslover and White give great examples of what a traditional family is like and how the modern
family is taking over. The world makes it easy to deplete family values in this day and age but really
divorce has been considered for centuries. Divorce has become a regular occurrence and highly
prevalent in today s society, which is focused upon and exemplified throughout the essay Stone Soup,
whereas, traditional family values and permanent marital status is shown in Once More to the Lake.

The modern family is a family who associates with each other but they do not spend an efficient
amount of time with each other as a priority and often puts themselves before each other. According to
Kingslover, That it selfishly puts personal happiness ahead of family integrity. Kingslover is talking
about divorce and he puts it into practical words that makes others think about what divorce is. In
today s world, divorce is very common and is sad, because according to the Bible when the decision is
made to get marries, the two people have to work things out. Matthew 5:31 32, It has been said,
Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce. But I tell you that anyone who
divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who
marries a divorced woman commits adultery. This verse is what most people today are doing. They are
having sexual affairs with other people and then get a divorce and that is a sin. They also are looking
to television shows as the fairy tale marriage and expecting marriage to be just like what is shown on
tv. Divorce was something taken seriously but now it is a common way for people who want out.
Sinning is very common today, from lying, stealing, adultery and murder. These are all sins that are
becoming middling each and every day. What kind of world is the world turning into? It is scary to
think about and to think about what the world is going to be like in 25

Evaluation Of A Business Will Greatly Influence The Course...
Week 4 Reflection: Introduction to Segmentation
The strategy or objectives of a business will greatly influence the course of action they will take. The
most effective and efficient way to segment a market can depend greatly on the type of product or
service and, ultimately, their goals for a strategy. I find it interesting to know that companies will
consider factors such as psychographic and behavioural methods in particular because they are not
things I automatically assume are important to a business. Demographic, benefits and geographic
factors appear much more important to me but on further study i realised that businesses will use a
combination of a the methods to be more effective. Companies such as Black Milk, who earn most of
their profits online consider demographic, behavioural and psychographic much more than geographic
methods as the internet offers them a channel for greater customer scope than if they were to target
particular locations.
Companies will also evaluate the attractiveness of a market to determine whether they should pursue
it. The criteria for this evaluation seems appeal to the universal objectives of businesses so in that
sense, it extremely effective. The identifiably of a customer is important so that companies are able to
strategies effectively. The segment must also be substantial enough for business to be conducted
profitably, which can happen in different scales. For example, my two jobs which both involve fast
food services appear to

Auditing And Auditing Essay
Introduction Employees today can see variation as an opportunity rather than a risk. Tim M. and
Timboon F., were the ones who observed that change is truly in the present business environment and
if done properly, it can aide the growth of business. When a person changes their job responsibilities,
they need to be aware of what can be considered a reasonable change in the latitude of their position
and what can constitute termination. Sensible changes are those that do not change the essential
position. Below are examples of the unfair and fair job changes: An administrative staff member who
is inquired to undertake lunch coverage of the reception duties or learn current system could be taken
to fall within the scope of an Office Assistant. Moving the same Office Assistant into a role which
contains basic of food and beverage service could constitute a redundancy situation. Implementing
changes to an employee s job description may have risks, occurring most often when the employee
claims the following: 1) Their position is redundant. 2) They have been efficiently and effectively
dismissed unfairly. They have been unfavorably treated because of a protected characteristic. Types of
Auditors and Audits Auditors are categorized by the kind of engagement. There exist external
auditors, internal auditors, government auditors, forensic auditors, public auditors, and information

Workmen s Auto Insurance Company V. Guy Carpenter, Inc.
Are Insurance Brokers Agents Fiduciaries?
Insurers, insureds, and even their attorneys frequently incorrectly assume that insurance agents and
brokers owe fiduciary duties to their insureds. While the law is not completely clear regarding the
applicability of agency principles and their fiduciary duties in this area, legal precedent can offer some
guidance on the issue. Currently, there is no appellate precedent permitting an insured to sue its agent
or broker under a common law action for breach of fiduciary duty. However, the California courts
have yet to be willing to rule that the cause of action based on common law agency principles is
completely inapplicable to brokers and agents.
Demonstrative of the Court s unwillingness to create a bright line rule is the heavily litigated case of
Workmen s Auto Insurance Company v. Guy Carpenter Co., Inc. In 2011, the Court of Appeal in
Workmen s answered the question regarding fiduciary duties of brokers and agents definitively in the
negative, ruling that an insurance broker cannot be sued for breach of fiduciary duty. The ruling finally
provided the guidance and rule necessary to put the issue to rest. However, the relief was short lived
when in 2012, after a rehearing that affirmed the Court s ruling, the opinion was vacated and
depublished, again leaving the law in this area without ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Chin The World s Largest Producer Of Coke Coke Industry China is the world s largest producer of coke, and there is evidence that China has for the last decade manipulated production and prices. According to the OECD, China s use of export quotas became more commonplace starting in 2004 and continued for several years. Coke export allocations of 12 million tons in 2008 were cut to 11.9 million tons in 2009, to 9 million tons in 2010 and to 8.4 million tons in 2011. As China rolled out the export quota over these years, it concurrently started to introduce export taxes on coke in 2006. The graph below shows China s ad valorem export tax rates compared to Russia and the rest of the world in 2012. As depicted, China s export tax was approximately 40%, while Russia s was significantly lower at 5% and the rest of the world almost non existent. This export tax essentially raised the price that importers abroad, including the United States, had to pay at the end, making U.S. buyers of coke less competitive in the global supply chain. The added ad valorem tax would suppress demand, thereby reducing the price that sellers would receive on the market. When considering the aftermath of China s loss in the 2013 WTO case, it was forced to eliminate the export restraint measures on the 9 raw materials, including coke. As a result, a tax free situation meant that Chinese coke became cheaper again, which would have led to an increased supply of coke exports to the United States. Gonadotropins are injectable fertility medications, containing follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) alone or combined with luteinizing hormone (LH). During a natural menstrual cycle, both FSH and LH are produced by the pituitary gland in the brain to naturally stimulate the ovaries to produce a single egg each month. When FSH (with or without LH) is given as an injection, it works directly on the ovaries to make multiple follicles (cysts containing eggs). Gonadotropins are used during fertility treatments such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF). Injections of gonadotropins are started early in the menstrual cycle to cause multiple eggs to grow to a mature size. In Mrs. Dalloway, Peter Walsh and Clarissa Dalloway reflect upon their younger selves; however, they both result in different outlets to combat these thoughts. Peter keeps a pocket knife with him in case his past with Clarissa confronts him though he chooses to see Clarissa. As Peter physically comes back into Clarissa s life, she is determined to change her feelings that her long term memory provokes in her especially concerning Peter. However, Rezia and Septimus take a different approach to dealing with their long term memories, as Rezia wants to rekindle her pre war relationship with Septimus, which is unsuccessful. Virginia Woolf uses the motifs of cutting and sewing simultaneously to illustrate that to find contentment in one s current life, one must cut off one s past to be able to progress forward into a new life. Peter plays with his pocket knife whenever he is with Clarissa to symbolize the unexplainable emotions Peter experiences with Clarissa and his desire to remove these tensions by ... Stakeholders are identified by their interests and all stakeholder interests are considered to be intrinsically valuable. 4) Stakeholder Theory is managerial in that it recommends attitudes, structures, and practices and requires that simultaneous attention be given to the interests of all legitimate stakeholders. | Diagram/schematic of theory | | Diagram/schematic of theory | | | | | | At a minimum, stakeholders are those groups from whom the organization has voluntarily accepted benefits, and to whom the organization has therefore incurred obligations ... • 29. Evaluation Of A Business Will Greatly Influence The Course... Week 4 Reflection: Introduction to Segmentation The strategy or objectives of a business will greatly influence the course of action they will take. The most effective and efficient way to segment a market can depend greatly on the type of product or service and, ultimately, their goals for a strategy. I find it interesting to know that companies will consider factors such as psychographic and behavioural methods in particular because they are not things I automatically assume are important to a business. Demographic, benefits and geographic factors appear much more important to me but on further study i realised that businesses will use a combination of a the methods to be more effective. Companies such as Black Milk, who earn most of their profits online consider demographic, behavioural and psychographic much more than geographic methods as the internet offers them a channel for greater customer scope than if they were to target particular locations. Companies will also evaluate the attractiveness of a market to determine whether they should pursue it. The criteria for this evaluation seems appeal to the universal objectives of businesses so in that sense, it extremely effective. The identifiably of a customer is important so that companies are able to strategies effectively. The segment must also be substantial enough for business to be conducted profitably, which can happen in different scales. For example, my two jobs which both involve fast food services appear to ... Insurers, insureds, and even their attorneys frequently incorrectly assume that insurance agents and brokers owe fiduciary duties to their insureds. While the law is not completely clear regarding the applicability of agency principles and their fiduciary duties in this area, legal precedent can offer some guidance on the issue. Currently, there is no appellate precedent permitting an insured to sue its agent or broker under a common law action for breach of fiduciary duty. However, the California courts have yet to be willing to rule that the cause of action based on common law agency principles is completely inapplicable to brokers and agents. Demonstrative of the Court s unwillingness to create a bright line rule is the heavily litigated case of Workmen s Auto Insurance Company v. Guy Carpenter Co., Inc. In 2011, the Court of Appeal in Workmen s answered the question regarding fiduciary duties of brokers and agents definitively in the negative, ruling that an insurance broker cannot be sued for breach of fiduciary duty. The ruling finally provided the guidance and rule necessary to put the issue to rest.
