The Seven Habits Profile Of My Life
After doing the seven habits profile, I see that I am scatter all over the place. For instants my
emotions, and life are, very good and outstanding. I look at that as saying that I have a great
perception on how my life plays out, but may run into some problems down the road, because my
emotions can get in the way. The reason my emotions will play a big factor into my is, I don t put
myself in other people shoes, always wanting others to understand me but not wanting to understand
were they might be coming from. On the other hand I do have empathy for other just not
understanding, that can come off as very selfish. With that in mind a lot of my relationships could
suffer because of this. After the seven habits scoring I see that everyone ... Show more content on

learning, when the employee is on their own and contributing to the team and they have made an error,
I would simply just ask them to come to my desk and look at the case with me, and ask them why did
they do the ticket that way and allow them to explain to me. Then I would let them know they did a

How Was Pancho Villa s Assassination Justified

Assassination Paper
Pancho Villa, The Bandit
Pancho Villa was smart but tricky. Villa made a deal that in exchange for a quiet, humble life he
wouldn t join anything dealing with politics. Three years later, former president Venustiano Carranza
was assassinated by Obregon s agents. Obregon was a general in the Mexican Revolution, a colleague
of Carranza, and an enemy of Villa. With this assassination, Carranza appointed Obregon to be
President, but Villa ran as well. Obregon knew he had no chance against Villa, so Obregon slayed him.
Although Villa fought and got Mexico a better government, people were against his efforts to be
president and hated the fact that he wiped out a whole family, robbed killed, fought and tortured
people which makes Villa s assassination justified.

Many people wished they were the killer, the killers did a lot just to kill him which shows how much
people hated. Villa fought in the to overrule the dictator, Porfirio Diaz. Diaz violated the Mexican
Constitution of 1857. Some people were with it, many were against it. With Villa being one of the
leaders of the Revolution, that automatically put an aim on his back. This is the situation that forced
Villa to stay out of politics and such. This was his turning point.
In conclusion, Villa fought to get Mexico a better government, people were against his efforts to be
president and hated the fact that he wiped out a whole family, robbed, killed, fought, and tortured
people which makes Villa s assassination justified. Villa was shot at 40 times which makes me think,
who would should at someone forty times if they were nice. He even managed to kill a whole family

How Did Islamic Influence Spain

Muslims in Spain
In present day, Muslims in America, are seen as our worst enemy. Like in any culture, ``there are
moderate people and radicals. Radicals are the people who take their beliefs too far. For example,
most terrorist attacks were done by radical Muslims; in the name of their religion. However, the world
needs to see past the evil done by the radicals and come to discover the accomplishments and good
influences in the world. One prime example of Arabic influence is Spain. Not many people actually
know that the Spanish language, architecture, literature are all influenced by Arabic.
It all started in the year 477 A.D. the Muslim army arrived at the Spanish shores; marking the ... Show

At this early stage of Hispano Islamic art, the plant and floral decorations were still relatively
naturalistic: later they become more stylised, more geometrical and more repetitive, adopting the
mathematically conceived patterns known as arabesques. By the time Granada s Alhambra is built in
the 14th Century, vegetal and geometric decorative forms had become almost indistinguishable. (IA)
Decorations like these enriched the Spanish culture. The columns, cupolas and the spacious buildings
are all of Arabic influence. Alcazar is a palace in Seville; which shows these characteristics although it
is later modified when the Reconqusita ends. In Conclusion, although many people, might think ill
minded towards the Arabic culture due to some crazy radicals. Without the Arabic influence, some of
the objects most cherish in Spanish culture would not exist today. These people made achievements
and influenced a country who later would become a world power. The influence on music, language,
and art is not only still present in Spain but also reflect in Latin

Political Theater And Consumer Culture Essay
The most essential skill in political theater and a consumer culture is artifice. Basically means that
skill they used is artifice. Its an image based culture communicates through narratives, pictures and
pseudo drama. It s interesting because it explains how the political leaders and consumer of culture
have both in common of artifice. You need to master the art of entertainment and if not who fail to
create a narrative or do not have one fashioned for them by their handlers are ignored. To begin, with
leaders internally talk about their last to get the crowd to know them a bit more, so they can see how
they would act upon anything important from their personal point of view. Political theater is going to

Chief Doublespeak Officer
The essay I decided to do a journal entry was Life under the Chief Doublespeak Officer . The purpose
of this essay was to show how corporations use language to distract from the real effect of their
decisions. Major corporations use this dialect to maintain an image that they want to portray of their
company. This always appears to benefit the company more than the employs, shareholders, or
whoever they want to deceive. It is honestly just a way to fluff a positive outlook through a negative
situation. (Lutz, n.d.) In today s day and age this doublespeak is used more often than ever. It seems to
be a more politically correct way to put negative situations to avoid scrutiny. A descriptive writing
pattern used in this essay I think is specific

Logarithms During The Scientific Revolution Of The 17th...
Though the Scientific Revolution of the 17th century produced many inspiring inventions and
discoveries, one of the greatest contributions of the period, at least in the field of mathematics, was the
introduction of logarithms. Mathematically, a logarithm is denoted as follows logb(x)=y, where y is
the power to which b must be raised in order to produce the answer x. However, simply explained, a
logarithm is a quantity representing the power to which a fixed number, the base, must be raised to
produce a specific number. Therefore, to give just one computational example, log2(32) = 5 because
25 =32.
The term logarithm was derived from the Greek words for ratio and number. Conceptually speaking,
logarithms are the inverse operation of exponents. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The combined efforts of Napier, Burgi, and Briggs contributed to the invention of a mathematical
calculation that is used daily in our modern life. By referring back to the logarithm tables, large and
tedious calculations can be avoided and simplified by simply performing two steps by using the
logarithm laws. This discovery arose in the time period when there were several mathematical and
scientific discoveries being made, and resulted in a highly convenient and faster method for

Egyptian Art Vs Byzantine Art
Throughout history, man has used several mediums to record the world they live in, whether it is
through writing or art. These mediums have also served not only as a way to represent the events in
history but also provide as a way to convey certain messages with hopes to teach, influence or
convince the viewers. Three periods in history, the Egyptian, the Roman, and the Byzantine, are
examples of cultures that used art as a mean to relate the earthly world with their religious beliefs.
With their art, the Egyptian aimed to paint the rulers as god kings, the Roman cultures represented
their gods and goddesses with human like actions, and lastly, the Byzantine period presented a
heavenly realm on earth.

For instance, in the Hagia Sophia Church created by Justinian during his reign, multiple windows
surround the base of the central dome, making the illusion that it is as if it was floating. The windows
appear as a golden chain from Heaven . With this innovative yet smoothly executed iconography in
the architecture of the church, worshipers were presented with a spiritual setting in which they could
bask in. Byzantine art established the churches as the second heaven.
However, the Byzantine not only created the image of heaven in their architectural structures, but also
in their mosaic paintings. The painting of Justinian, Bishop Maximianus, and attendants, is a good
example of how the Byzantine period set the scene against a golden background, a style that has
started in Late Antiquity to show that an event occurs in a heavenly place or a paradise not bound by
time or location. This gives the effect that the emperor is regarded as having the ability to dwell not
only on earth as a ruler but also participate in spiritual rites as favored by

and the achievement of developmental objectives by supporting aggregate fiscal discipline, strategic
allocation of resources and efficient service delivery. An open and orderly PFM system is one of the
enabling elements for those three levels of budgetary outcomes:
Effective controls of the budget totals and management of fiscal risks contribute to maintain aggregate

Key elements of the quality of OAGP s actual external audit is envisaged to comprise the scope/
coverage of the audit, adherence to appropriate auditing standards including independence of the
external audit institution, focus on significant and systemic PFM issues in its reports, and performance
of the full range of financial audit such as reliability of financial statements, regularity of transactions
and functioning of internal control and procurement systems. Inclusion of some aspects of
performance audit (such as e.g. value for money in major infrastructure contracts) would also be
expected of a high quality audit function.
With the Auditor General adopting International Auditing Standards the envisaged wider role of the
Auditor General in auditing circumstances changed. The timing of audits has changed and now has to
be done during the busy periods due to reporting deadlines imposed by the PEFA. This implies that
Auditor General will need to staff up in order to be in a position to meet the reporting deadlines.
Moreover Devolution has changed the way government money is spent in Pakistan. Responsibility for
well over billions of rupees a year now lies with the devolved administrations. These changes in
accountability for public money have also meant changes in the audit arrangements.

Personal Narrative Essay On Softball
Some people just think softball is as simple as someone swinging a stick, hitting a ball, and trying to
get back to where they started. They don t see what softball really means to someone like me.
Someone who has dedicated their life just to be able to play on that field at a certain level. Someone
who wants to go to college and play the sport that they love. Well, I play softball because of the love I
have for the sport. Everytime I step on that softball field the feeling overwhelms me. When I step onto
that softball field I receive the drive to make myself better. Not just as a softball player, but also as a
person. All of the emotion, thoughts and feelings I get make me want to work hard towards my goals.

RC. I could taste the amazing hit that was coming. I just knew I was about to stroke it out of the park.
She started her wind up and threw the ball. The first two pitches she threw were balls. I got the sign

The Extinction Of Sharks
Sharks are one of the oldest living species on planet earth. Their earliest discovered fossils have been
dated back to over 420 million years old. Being one of the oldest species alive today, they have
undergone significant changes over time. The purpose of my research on these magnificent creatures
was to discover exactly why they ve been able to survive for so long, in contrary to other species that
have become extinct. Existing research shows that sharks have been able to survive because of their
ability to adapt to different environments. In 2013, a paleontological dig site in southern France
yielded fossilized teeth of a tiny shark relative, indicating that the fish escaped catastrophic events by
swimming to deeper oceans. This is an example of such adaptations that sharks have ... Show more

belong to sharks that prey on fish.

Growth Disorder Analysis
Growth disorder affects thousands of people across the world. Some are diagnosed with excessive
tallness while others are diagnosed with familial short stature (Peak 6). In one case a boy was
diagnosed at eleven years old, and he had to inject himself with a biosynthetic growth hormone
everyday (Torres 25). He grew up and became the highest goalscorer in Barcelona s history, Leo
Messi (Caioli 34).
There are many details on growth disorder. For instance, people with growth disorder face many
physical challenges. One example is, it interferes with normal activities. It would be very hard for a
person with growth disorder to go grocery shopping, drive a car, or turn on lights. Another example is,
society is designed for average height (Peak 61). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

has made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for the most goals scored in one year (41).When
Leo was first signed to Barcelona, his contract was on a napkin (Torres 29).
Leo has many influences and inspirations. For instance Diego Maradona, a former great Argentinian
soccer player, is a big inspiration to Leo (Logothetis 7). Another inspiration is Leo s grandmother
Celia. She put Leo in his first youth soccer club when he was only five years old (Morreale 9). Every
time Leo scores a goal, he puts two fingers to the sky in honor of his grandmother (37).

Liberia is unlikely most Sub Saharan countries, because Liberia has always been what is called a free

Liberia quickly became a republic by 1847 with the helping hand of American Politics. While Liberia
was not colonized in the traditional sense. Liberia still displayed some problems that traditionally
colonized countries suffered from. Liberia suffered the mirroring image problem, the two publics
problem, and corruption.
Liberia, like many French and British colonies, wanted to mirror the white republic and be the black

is the civic public which is based off of colonial rule. Liberians keep their personal belief system, but
will often engage in immoral actions for the people.
Finally, Liberia has suffered the cost of African Bourgeois and the two publics with corruption.
Liberia has not always been on the up and up as it seems to be doing at this point. Liberia was once
very corrupt with Charles Taylor running the country, it is no wonder the country suffered.
Regardless to the colonial legacies that lay on the door of Liberia, the country has started to heal from

Harrison Bergeron Character Analysis
Harrison Bergeron. by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. is about Harrison s struggle to fight against a system set in
place by John Klaxon and his secret society. The message of Harrison Bergeron. is, that equality doesn
t necessarily create the perfect world. Because nobody can express who they are as an individual. The
characters in Harrison Bergeron. Such as John Klaxon and Harrison himself, had conflicting
ideologies that lead to strife and conflict between them.
John Klaxon spent his life creating a world in which the general public was totally equal to one
another, but him and his secret society don t have handicaps or any sort. They manage what the public
sees and hears with mind numbing television programs, but they themselves can watch movies and
programs with any meaning and listen to beautiful music. In this social structure John Klaxon has
created, himself and his secret society are the only ones in this society that can truly express their
ideas and feelings. During the movie after the police bust on Head house. Harrison is offered two
choices die or join Klaxons society, there he is told to take his handicaps off. This is unfair to the
public because it exposes the corruption of this system and the government that controls their daily
lives. John Klaxon believed that too, end envy would bring an end to war and conflict. But this led to
no one being able to show individuality or express themselves.During the movie after John showed

Comparing Stereotypes In Elle Magazine And TH Bold
The two ads I chose were Live Irrésistible, a perfume by Givenchy from Elle magazine and TH Bold,

ads men act and women appear and these two ads represents just that. Elle is a magazine for women
between the ages 16 30, who have an interest in fashion and the latest trends. While, Men s Health
magazine targets men between the ages 18 30, who have an interest in their health and sex lives.
Furthermore, I believe both ads have stories to tell. In the first ad for a perfume by Givenchy, we see a
beautiful blonde woman who s enjoying a beautiful day out on a rooftop balcony just relaxing. In the
second ad for a cologne by Tommy Hilfiger, we see a well fit men enjoying a beautiful day doing a

Gender Roles In Antigone
In Sophocles Antigone, gender roles is a major theme throughout the play. The play was written
during the ancient Greece era, around 442 B.C. As stated in Roles of Men and Women in Ancient
Greece , during these days, men were dominant and held all the power, so women were automatically
treated as less. Antigone and Creon portray the conflicting sides between male and female, and Ismene
and Haemon foils into Antigone and Creon s actions. Antigone, Ismene, Creon, and Haemon each
show differences in behavior due to their sex versus the actions each character chooses to take.
Antigone tells Ismene about her plans to bury their brother, Polynices, which is going against Creon s
orders. Antigone and Ismene have contrasting perspectives on the idea of morality vs. law. Ismene
argues that they shouldn t interfere with man s law. This did not stop Antigone and after she made her
decision, she was compared to a man for standing up for her beliefs and was ordered to death so that
Creon could prove his masculinity. Haemon takes up for Antigone by saying that rather than being
punished, she should be honored for taking the actions that she took. The problem with him taking up
for Antigone comes into play because he is first going against his father, Creon, as well as taking the
side of a woman over the side of a man. Sophocles accurately shows how much power women and
men hold by using these characters to symbolize the differences within their gender roles and how
power impacts the

The scene was set with fog with blue and purple tones with her weary high pitched voice coming from

like a corpse in rags. Another thing I noticed in the banquet scene a female performer comes in to
entertain Macbeth and does a dance with a mask. Throughout the dance she is holding two other
masks and alternately covers her face with them as she swirls, bends and crosses the stage. The masks
change with such fluidity you would hardly notice, even the type of masks and the character they
express; happy, fearful and angry. For me she was almost telling Macbeths prophecy. All of the
elements of this production made it a continuous seamless, ever growing, rhythmic sweep , especially
the final scene when Au Shu is up on his perch telling his soldiers they cannot lose as the prophet told
him so, unless the forest moves. It was then that his own soldiers fire arrows at him creating a slow
death with Au Shu doing a back flip from a raised level to stage level in full view. It was incredible
and symbolized his fall from grace. His own soldiers took Macbeths head and brought it to the rebel
army to save themselves as they could see Macbeth had gone mad. It was certainly a tragedy, from
start to finish the psychological and emotional values were apparent. Even though the play was in
Taiwanese and the subtitles were simple English the two different styles blended together so nicely

The Battle Of The Trenches During World War II
Progressive Warfare Terror, disease, long days, and cold nights are some of the best words to describe
life in the trenches during the first World War. Offensive advancements were quickly met with
standoffs, leaving soldiers living in dirt holes in the ground for months at a time. To overcome the
stalemates brought on by trench warfare in WWI, technological advances were made, such as poison
gas, tanks, and machine guns, that have changed warfare even to this day. Trench warfare defined the
first world war. Prior to the start of the War to end all wars, generals believed offensive attacks would

Lice were a large issue because they were the cause of Trench Fever. Trench Fever was a painful
disease that was widespread through trenches, both Allied and Central Powers. It was at one time
computed to form 40 percent of evacuations, and 60 per cent of all cases of sickness in certain
formations (577). Although only 8% of Trench Fever cases were fatal, it affected over 800,000 allied
soldiers alone, leaving them unfit for duty for up to three months at a time. Symptoms were harsh, but
not always fatal. After an incubation period of fifteen to thirty days, during which prodromata are not
frequent, the disease is ushered in with sudden onset headache, dizziness, pains in the back and legs,
lateral nystagmus, injected conjunctivae (pink eye), enlarged spleen, an erythematous or papular rash
on the trunk, and sharp fever. (578). Life in the trenches was far from comfortable. To save their
soldiers and progress the war, military officers knew something had to change. One of the many
advancements made during the duration of World War I was that of poisonous gasses. These gasses
were considered uncivilized before the beginning of the first World War. However, they were deemed
necessary to overcome the standoff between the Allied forces and the Central Powers. The French
army was the first to use such a weapon in 1914, but the Germans were the first to use poisonous

Editing And The Writing Process
Literature Review In examining recent literature on the topic of editing in the writing process, three
areas appear to be of some concern in dealing with this issue: 1) The true definition of editing and the

editing strategies that will increase student learning. In order to truly implement editing strategies that
will impact the learner, the first two areas must be addressed.
In the review of the literature, I found that many students and teachers alike had some misconceptions

The second area that needs to be addressed is the role the teacher and students play in the editing
stage. Teachers, English teachers in particular, are experts in editing. This is suggested through their
daily activities of correcting papers (Littauer, 1996; Parsons 2001). Joel Littauer (1996) also suggests
that students have no editing skills because the teacher does all the editing. It is of no wonder that
students do not have the skills of editing. Parsons (2001) states that unless students are taught and
forced to implement correct language, they will continue to make the same mistakes. He also makes
the point of putting the responsibility of editing back to the person who does the writing. In the case of
a classroom, the teacher must teach the students to edit their work, and the students must take the
responsibility to do so. In accomplishing this task, the students will have taken one more step in
becoming successful writers. In order to accomplish this task however, teachers must find and
implement editing strategies that will work for them and their students. In conducting my literature
review, I found three strategies that were dominant in much of my research. The first strategy was one
that was technology driven. In this strategy, the computer word processor is used as a tool for the
stages of writing. Jarvis (1997), Diehm (1998), as well as Parsons (2001), all give good reasons to use
this tool as a strategy for editing. In

Analysis Of The Poem Mont Blanc
Percy Shelley opens his poem, Mont Blanc by noting how imperative the human mind is in regard to
nature. The first few lines establish a relation that is essential to all life. With these lines alone, Shelley
is pulling from many of the inclinations made by William Wordsworth in his poem, Tintern Abbey .
There is however an expansion made on Wordsworth s affections toward nature and its aweing power;
while Shelley agrees that there is only a small amount of those who can truly grasp the full intention
of what the natural world teaches, he largely finds nature in defiance with man s own predilections and
perceptions regarding its behavior and influence. Mont Blanc seeks out nature s sublime instead of its
lovely and simplistic benevolence. In some ways, Mont Blanc is a deeper examination and
deconstruction of what Tintern Abbey constructs as a beautiful but surface level and thus shallow
perception of what nature is capable of at its most powerful, and then asks how that influences the
creative human mind.
Both poems assert in their own ways that we are indelibly at the mercy of learning from nature and
bending to its influence. Our five senses allow us to experience it, but more than that we also receive
emotional stimulation as well. Tintern Abbey achieves an essence of the sublime by memory sustained
and perfected through the combined power of the human mind (especially one of poetic fancy) and
nature s beautiful force something of meditation. Wordsworth

Thus Spoke Zaratustra by Frederich Nietzche
The use of language is woven into such a dynamic doctrine in Thus Spoke Zarathustra that it speaks
mountains of Nietzsche s genius. The aspect of two voices speaking as one shows a grasp for the
written word that few have accomplished. With metaphors abound and a deep understanding of
literary masterpieces, Nietzsche portrays the world that we live in with such grace. The literal
translation of the book takes a highly spiritual stance, but in between the lines there is such depth of
knowledge and understanding. While Nietzsche writes many chapters to express his understanding
through Zarathustra, the theme s and messages are all very similar. Every chapter is like a piece of a
grand puzzle that makes an intricate understanding of the world. Explaining the reality of what we
think is reality would be too simple an explanation to fully grasp many of the concepts in Thus Spoke
Zarathustra. That using words to describe such an amazing world would thus cheapen it to human
standards. Of course, I cannot be one to speak such harsh words, as I am intent on cheapening the
glorious concepts with my own meager words.
2
As I would like to discuss the book as a whole, I would like to use a chapter that is a good summary of
Zarathustra s adventure of mind. The Three Metamorphoses has many elements of Nietzsche s overall
message, and is suitable to somewhat accomplish the task of interpreting the book by using the literal
translation and underlying meanings portrayed therein.

The Conflict Between Science And Faith
In today s living, people struggle with the controversy between mind and spirit. Most times this is a
struggle between more than one person, and or a struggle between oneself. There is always a logical
side to a person and a passionate, expressive side, with the ones who decide to march under either
flag. The two sides often divide our generation, leaving some with only having put their trust in one
belief. These two sides, or beliefs bring up people such as mathematicians and artists, more relatively
science minded individuals and individuals of faith. More recently through the generations over
countless decades have these two sides become opposing forces. They have become two completely
different views of living. Francis Collins wrote this book to discuss the issue between these two
opposing forces. Francis Collins wrote and divided this book into three sections: Section one: The
Chasm Between Science and Faith, Part Two: The Great Questions of Human Existence, and Part
Three: Faith in Science, Faith in God. Section one of the book is about the story of Francis Collins
endeavor towards his new found faith and philosophical debates towards it; It being the faith. Collins
was raised with an indifference towards faith, describing his upbringing as that of being a freethinker.
Both his parents were both artistic folk, not the religious type. The only glimpse of church that Francis
Collins got was when he and his brothers had to sing at an Episcopalian church simply for

Theodore Roosevelt Corollary Analysis
The United States has a very long history of military actions that helped expand its power in both
peacetime and war to a much higher status. After independence, the United States took military
control of the North American continent, acquiring territory from the native peoples, and from other
countries such as Britain, France, Mexico, and more countries. Not only seizing territory but also
offering help to any allies who needed it. The Roosevelt Corollary written by Theodore Roosevelt in
1904, is a great example of how the expansion of American influence has spread throughout North and
Latin America, and also Asia. In the corollary, it basically says that if a nation cannot help keep up
with its standard, as well as having chronic wrongdoing, the intervention of the United States will
have to occur. Mainly this document is speaking to Latin America and the Caribbean /Central
America. In the last few decades of the19th century, it was a period of imperial spreading for the
United States. The American story took a different route from that of its European rivals, however,

Our Paper Today Will Be On Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo Is
Our paper today will be on Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo is an American bank that was created in 1852 by
Henry Wells and James Fargo. It is the second largest bank in the USA in terms of market cap,
operates in over 42 countries around the world, and has over 260,000 employees.
In 2016, federal regulators caught Wells Fargo creating millions of fake bank and credit card accounts;
over 1.5 million bank accounts were created. Furthermore, federal regulators also said that 565,443
credit cards were created, and 1400 of those accounts had been charged over 400,000 dollars in fees.
Wells Fargo employees broke many ethical and legal boundaries and engaged in counterproductive
work behavior.

This practice was so common that Wells Fargo employees had several methods for doing this. The
first method is sand bagging. Sand Bagging involves failing to open accounts by customers at their
requested date, instead accumulating accounts to open in the next sales period to inflate profits.
Another practice was called Pinning which was creating pin numbers without customer s
authorization, and attaching them to credit cards. Then employees would impersonate customers on
Wells Fargo s computers and use these pin numbers to create online banking and bills for customers.
Finally, a practice called bundling was done where Wells Fargo employees would mislead customers
saying that certain banking products were only available in bundles which forced customers to add
more products than they wanted. So, one wonders, how could this have happened? Why did high
expectations of sales lead to unethical, almost criminal behaviour? This is tied to Goal Setting theory.
Goal setting theory, created by Edwin Locke, states that employees are motivated by clear goals, and
appropriate feedback. Individuals that were given clear, specific and difficult goals had greater
performance than individuals given general and easy goals. However, research has shown that setting
unattainable and challenging goals can lead to risky or even unethical behaviour. A study done by

Main Ideas
Main Ideas: After reading this novel, the first idea that was clearly evident throughout the entirety of
the story is that Jewish people are highly unwanted. Leslie Schwartz was just a young boy when he
began to experience these unwelcoming greetings from the Germans, who in particular were the
Nazis. During this time period Jews were looked down upon and were even considered to be dirty .
This term dirty that was used to describe the Jewish was not used in a literal way most times, instead it
is used as a metaphor suggesting that they were somewhat similar to what we know as slaves. An
event that occurred where Leslie and thousands of other Jews experienced this term dirty first hand,
appeared during the time period they left ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second main idea that occurred throughout the novel was the idea of courage. Courage and
bravery is what helped Leslie survive the tragedies he did and was able to help him rebuild his life
after these events were over. One of the main events where Leslie needed to be courageous was when
he had the option to either stay with his mother and sister during the concentration camp separating, or
join his step father whom he fully did not trust yet. Leslie had this decision to make that would
determine life or death. In the end Leslie decides to join his step father and many other men to go to a
concentration camp separated from the women and children. I must say that Leslie made the right
choice by deciding to go with his step father, because hadn t he not gone he might have not been able
to share this story of his with all of us.
Analysis:
There are a variety of different focuses that were present throughout this book, all which have a very
important message and impact. The one focus, or intent as to why the author wrote this novel was to
inform the reader about such a tragic event that has taken place in history and to raise awareness so
that things like this do not end up reoccurring. Something that has inspired many readers already, this
book was also intended to inspire those reading it not to give up on achieving their goals and dreams
in life. Leslie did not give up on trying to

Training Facilities For Rapid City Essay
The small town of Rapid City, South Dakota has a population of nearly 71,000 residents. The main
employer to Rapid City is home to roughly 3,500 military veterans located at Ellsworth Air Force
Base. When the term military comes to mind, an assortment of words come to mind. Deployment.
Family. War. Aircraft. To some though, the word fitness comes to mind first. Everyone knows that in
order to be a member of the United States military, you must be fit. Every member of the Armed
Forces know that they can be called upon at any time to perform an assortment of tasks, and being
physically fit is a priority. Nearly every military base has a gym or fitness facility, but who wants to
visit the base after hours to work out? How often do you catch yourself watching the clock, waiting
for the hour hand to strike four so that you can check out for the day? Because of this, fitness facilities
throughout the city is a hot topic amongst military veterans. Towards the end of 2015, Rapid City was
home to three small scale fitness centers. Because of the lack of choices, of course it made sense to
charge steep prices. In December of 2015, that all changed with the arrival of Planet Fitness. Planet
Fitness, founded in 1992, focused on reducing prices to compete against the other well known brands.
The organization is an American health and wellness franchise that focuses on a casual, yet personal,
gym experience with no judgment or discomfort. Their no judgment attitude

These social impacts affect on the local people of host communities of their direct and indirect

free spending; enjoying the leisure and absorbing the experience of being in a different places whereas
the local people are stationary and employed in the tourist industry, spend a large portion of the time
for needs and desire of visitors. The demonstration effect is also an aspect of the direct social impact
of tourism. Tourist influences the behavior of the host population. The local people tend to observe
and learn the life style of the richer visitors from affluent societies and try to emulate their way of life.

Political Parties And The Democratic Party Essay
Introduction:
Originally political parties were seen as skeptical by our Founding Fathers and therefore opposed.
However, today our government has political parties. Political parties attempt to gain control of the
government and influence its decisions. The two most influential parties in American government are
the Republican and Democratic Party. These two parties have very contrasting beliefs which they
present in their platforms. Democrats believe in the need for intervention by government in the form
of more and bigger programs and agree that there must be fairness in government regulations and
freedom of expression. Republicans however, have more conservative values and cultivate the
importance of family and the efforts made by individuals. They, unlike the Democratic Party, prefer to
keep the power out of the hands of the government. Political parties business and actions affect every
American. Especially when the political party is governing and practicing its beliefs. The structure of
marriage, education, taxes, and defense spending are all topics that influence the daily lives of
American individuals. That is why is it is important to know where each political party stands.
Marriage and Family:
Republicans describe marriage as the union of one man and one woman and their regulations revolve
around these ideals. They state that children s emotional and physical health is stronger when they are
raised in a household with two parents. To Republicans, natural

Community Skate Park
Imagine, having a big problem in your community about whether or not your community should build
a skate park. Some people believe that a skater s spirit should not be denied, but skate parks bring
crime activity, danger to young skaters, and costs a lot of money. I know most of crime activity really
does happen at a skate park because, the skate park in Sioux City has been vandalized, and I know
people that go there for drug deals which is bad for young skaters to get into that kind of material. In
my opinion, a community skate park is a bad idea. In the first place, a skate park my lead to crime
activity. Courier Mail and My Suburban Life investigate that skate parks are a haven for crime. Low
lighting at night and no security at a skate park makes it perfect for gang activity, vandalism, and drug
deals. Why build a skate park if all that will happen is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Let s say a young skater enters the park and there is a lot of skaters. If that young skater gets injured
really badly how will he get to a hospital fast enough? There could even be bullies who shoved that
skater in the way on purpose. On the other hand if there is supervision then there is less possible
things that could happen than there is when it s unsupervised. There has been a lot of accidents at a
local skate park, head injuries leading to death, and they also lead to brain damage.
In the third place, according to Suburban Rails skate parks are really expansive. Researchers say that
the range in cost is from $8,000 to $25,000 per 1000 feet. Most community skate parks are paid by the
taxes of citizens. Dave Rebus wrote an article on why a community skate park is a bad idea he clearly
stated that he already pays enough taxes and that his money is going into something he does not
believe in is ridiculous. If you do not believe that a community skate park is a good idea than why pay

I look at that as saying that I have a great perception on how my life plays out, but may run into some problems down the road, because my emotions can get in the way. The reason my emotions will play a big factor into my is, I don t put myself in other people shoes, always wanting others to understand me but not wanting to understand were they might be coming from. For example with a new employee there are grace periods for learning, when the employee is on their own and contributing to the team and they have made an error, I would simply just ask them to come to my desk and look at the case with me, and ask them why did they do the ticket that way and allow them to explain to me. Villa made a deal that in exchange for a quiet, humble life he wouldn t join anything dealing with politics. Three years later, former president Venustiano Carranza was assassinated by Obregon s agents. Obregon was a general in the Mexican Revolution, a colleague of Carranza, and an enemy of Villa. With this assassination, Carranza appointed Obregon to be President, but Villa ran as well. Obregon knew he had no chance against Villa, so Obregon slayed him. Although Villa fought and got Mexico a better government, people were against his efforts to be president and hated the fact that he wiped out a whole family, robbed killed, fought and tortured people which makes Villa s assassination justified. This is the situation that forced Villa to stay out of politics and such. This was his turning point. In conclusion, Villa fought to get Mexico a better government, people were against his efforts to be president and hated the fact that he wiped out a whole family, robbed, killed, fought, and tortured people which makes Villa s assassination justified. Like in any culture, ``there are moderate people and radicals. Radicals are the people who take their beliefs too far. For example, most terrorist attacks were done by radical Muslims; in the name of their religion. However, the world needs to see past the evil done by the radicals and come to discover the accomplishments and good influences in the world. One prime example of Arabic influence is Spain. At this early stage of Hispano Islamic art, the plant and floral decorations were still relatively naturalistic: later they become more stylised, more geometrical and more repetitive, adopting the mathematically conceived patterns known as arabesques. By the time Granada s Alhambra is built in the 14th Century, vegetal and geometric decorative forms had become almost indistinguishable. (IA) Decorations like these enriched the Spanish culture. The columns, cupolas and the spacious buildings are all of Arabic influence. Alcazar is a palace in Seville; which shows these characteristics although it is later modified when the Reconqusita ends. In Conclusion, although many people, might think ill minded towards the Arabic culture due to some crazy radicals. The purpose of this essay was to show how corporations use language to distract from the real effect of their decisions. Major corporations use this dialect to maintain an image that they want to portray of their company. This always appears to benefit the company more than the employs, shareholders, or whoever they want to deceive. It is honestly just a way to fluff a positive outlook through a negative situation. (Lutz, n.d.) In today s day and age this doublespeak is used more often than ever. It seems to be a more politically correct way to put negative situations to avoid scrutiny. • 7. Logarithms During The Scientific Revolution Of The 17th... Though the Scientific Revolution of the 17th century produced many inspiring inventions and discoveries, one of the greatest contributions of the period, at least in the field of mathematics, was the introduction of logarithms. Mathematically, a logarithm is denoted as follows logb(x)=y, where y is the power to which b must be raised in order to produce the answer x. However, simply explained, a logarithm is a quantity representing the power to which a fixed number, the base, must be raised to produce a specific number. Therefore, to give just one computational example, log2(32) = 5 because 25 =32. The term logarithm was derived from the Greek words for ratio and number. These mediums have also served not only as a way to represent the events in history but also provide as a way to convey certain messages with hopes to teach, influence or convince the viewers. Three periods in history, the Egyptian, the Roman, and the Byzantine, are examples of cultures that used art as a mean to relate the earthly world with their religious beliefs. The windows appear as a golden chain from Heaven . Byzantine art established the churches as the second heaven. However, the Byzantine not only created the image of heaven in their architectural structures, but also in their mosaic paintings. The painting of Justinian, Bishop Maximianus, and attendants, is a good example of how the Byzantine period set the scene against a golden background, a style that has started in Late Antiquity to show that an event occurs in a heavenly place or a paradise not bound by time or location. The message of Harrison Bergeron. is, that equality doesn t necessarily create the perfect world. Because nobody can express who they are as an individual. The characters in Harrison Bergeron. Such as John Klaxon and Harrison himself, had conflicting ideologies that lead to strife and conflict between them. John Klaxon spent his life creating a world in which the general public was totally equal to one another, but him and his secret society don t have handicaps or any sort. They manage what the public sees and hears with mind numbing television programs, but they themselves can watch movies and programs with any meaning and listen to beautiful music. In this social structure John Klaxon has created, himself and his secret society are the only ones in this society that can truly express their ideas and feelings. During the movie after the police bust on Head house. Harrison is offered two choices die or join Klaxons society, there he is told to take his handicaps off. This is unfair to the public because it exposes the corruption of this system and the government that controls their daily lives. John Klaxon believed that too, end envy would bring an end to war and conflict. But this led to no one being able to show individuality or express themselves.During the movie after John showed Harrison some Mozart s great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Comparing Stereotypes In Elle Magazine And TH Bold The two ads I chose were Live Irrésistible, a perfume by Givenchy from Elle magazine and TH Bold, a cologne by Tommy Hilfiger from Men s Health magazine. According to Susan Bordo, in all most all ads men act and women appear and these two ads represents just that. Elle is a magazine for women between the ages 16 30, who have an interest in fashion and the latest trends. While, Men s Health magazine targets men between the ages 18 30, who have an interest in their health and sex lives. Furthermore, I believe both ads have stories to tell. In the first ad for a perfume by Givenchy, we see a beautiful blonde woman who s enjoying a beautiful day out on a rooftop balcony just relaxing. In the second ad for a cologne by Tommy Hilfiger, we see a well fit men enjoying a beautiful day doing a water activity. • 17. Gender Roles In Antigone In Sophocles Antigone, gender roles is a major theme throughout the play. The play was written during the ancient Greece era, around 442 B.C. As stated in Roles of Men and Women in Ancient Greece , during these days, men were dominant and held all the power, so women were automatically treated as less. Antigone and Creon portray the conflicting sides between male and female, and Ismene and Haemon foils into Antigone and Creon s actions. Antigone, Ismene, Creon, and Haemon each show differences in behavior due to their sex versus the actions each character chooses to take. Antigone tells Ismene about her plans to bury their brother, Polynices, which is going against Creon s orders. Antigone and Ismene have contrasting perspectives on the idea of morality vs. law. Ismene argues that they shouldn t interfere with man s law. This did not stop Antigone and after she made her decision, she was compared to a man for standing up for her beliefs and was ordered to death so that Creon could prove his masculinity. Haemon takes up for Antigone by saying that rather than being punished, she should be honored for taking the actions that she took. The problem with him taking up for Antigone comes into play because he is first going against his father, Creon, as well as taking the side of a woman over the side of a man. Sophocles accurately shows how much power women and men hold by using these characters to symbolize the differences within their gender roles and how power impacts the ... • 18. Banquet Scene In Macbeth It was also a very risky but appropriate play to show Taiwan audiences at the time as it made political comments on Taiwan s recent history as a political leader called Chiang Kai shek s tried to take over Taiwan, the parallels are quite evident. Chiang Kai shek was a military and political leader who joined the Chinese Nationalists Party in 1918, known as KMT. The people of Taiwan were under control of the KMT military forces and Chiang was the cause of hundreds of bloody and violent deaths. In order for Chiang, not unlike Macbeth, he wanted to keep control of his totalitarian regime so there was a massacre, riots and a famine, they ruled for over 40 years. The scene was set with fog with blue and purple tones with her weary high pitched voice coming from the unknown at first, ultimately holds our attention in suspense. It was visually haunting as she looked like a corpse in rags. Another thing I noticed in the banquet scene a female performer comes in to entertain Macbeth and does a dance with a mask. Throughout the dance she is holding two other masks and alternately covers her face with them as she swirls, bends and crosses the stage. The masks change with such fluidity you would hardly notice, even the type of masks and the character they express; happy, fearful and angry. For me she was almost telling Macbeths prophecy. All of the elements of this production made it a continuous seamless, ever growing, rhythmic sweep , especially the final scene when Au Shu is up on his perch telling his soldiers they cannot lose as the prophet told him so, unless the forest moves. It was then that his own soldiers fire arrows at him creating a slow death with Au Shu doing a back flip from a raised level to stage level in full view. It was incredible and symbolized his fall from grace. His own soldiers took Macbeths head and brought it to the rebel army to save themselves as they could see Macbeth had gone mad. It was certainly a tragedy, from start to finish the psychological and emotional values were apparent. Even though the play was in Taiwanese and the subtitles were simple English the two different styles blended together so nicely that the relationship, goals, the guilt and fear then the demise of the Macbeths was created with such an ... The Battle Of The Trenches During World War II Progressive Warfare Terror, disease, long days, and cold nights are some of the best words to describe life in the trenches during the first World War. Offensive advancements were quickly met with standoffs, leaving soldiers living in dirt holes in the ground for months at a time. To overcome the stalemates brought on by trench warfare in WWI, technological advances were made, such as poison gas, tanks, and machine guns, that have changed warfare even to this day. Although only 8% of Trench Fever cases were fatal, it affected over 800,000 allied soldiers alone, leaving them unfit for duty for up to three months at a time. Symptoms were harsh, but not always fatal. After an incubation period of fifteen to thirty days, during which prodromata are not frequent, the disease is ushered in with sudden onset headache, dizziness, pains in the back and legs, lateral nystagmus, injected conjunctivae (pink eye), enlarged spleen, an erythematous or papular rash on the trunk, and sharp fever. • 20. Editing And The Writing Process Literature Review In examining recent literature on the topic of editing in the writing process, three areas appear to be of some concern in dealing with this issue: 1) The true definition of editing and the editing process, 2) The perceived role and responsibilities of the teacher and students, and 3) Effective editing strategies that will increase student learning. In order to truly implement editing strategies that will impact the learner, the first two areas must be addressed. In the review of the literature, I found that many students and teachers alike had some misconceptions about the true definition of editing and the roles that each must play. Often times, the editing process and the revision process were mistakenly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second area that needs to be addressed is the role the teacher and students play in the editing stage. Teachers, English teachers in particular, are experts in editing. This is suggested through their daily activities of correcting papers (Littauer, 1996; Parsons 2001). Joel Littauer (1996) also suggests that students have no editing skills because the teacher does all the editing. It is of no wonder that students do not have the skills of editing. Parsons (2001) states that unless students are taught and forced to implement correct language, they will continue to make the same mistakes. He also makes the point of putting the responsibility of editing back to the person who does the writing. In the case of a classroom, the teacher must teach the students to edit their work, and the students must take the responsibility to do so. In accomplishing this task, the students will have taken one more step in becoming successful writers. In order to accomplish this task however, teachers must find and implement editing strategies that will work for them and their students. In conducting my literature review, I found three strategies that were dominant in much of my research. The first strategy was one that was technology driven. In this strategy, the computer word processor is used as a tool for the stages of writing. Jarvis (1997), Diehm (1998), as well as Parsons (2001), all give good reasons to use this tool as a strategy for editing. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 21. Analysis Of The Poem Mont Blanc Percy Shelley opens his poem, Mont Blanc by noting how imperative the human mind is in regard to nature. The first few lines establish a relation that is essential to all life. With these lines alone, Shelley is pulling from many of the inclinations made by William Wordsworth in his poem, Tintern Abbey . There is however an expansion made on Wordsworth s affections toward nature and its aweing power; while Shelley agrees that there is only a small amount of those who can truly grasp the full intention of what the natural world teaches, he largely finds nature in defiance with man s own predilections and perceptions regarding its behavior and influence. Mont Blanc seeks out nature s sublime instead of its lovely and simplistic benevolence. In some ways, Mont Blanc is a deeper examination and deconstruction of what Tintern Abbey constructs as a beautiful but surface level and thus shallow perception of what nature is capable of at its most powerful, and then asks how that influences the creative human mind. Both poems assert in their own ways that we are indelibly at the mercy of learning from nature and bending to its influence. Our five senses allow us to experience it, but more than that we also receive emotional stimulation as well. Tintern Abbey achieves an essence of the sublime by memory sustained and perfected through the combined power of the human mind (especially one of poetic fancy) and nature s beautiful force something of meditation. • 22. Thus Spoke Zaratustra by Frederich Nietzche The use of language is woven into such a dynamic doctrine in Thus Spoke Zarathustra that it speaks mountains of Nietzsche s genius. The aspect of two voices speaking as one shows a grasp for the written word that few have accomplished. With metaphors abound and a deep understanding of literary masterpieces, Nietzsche portrays the world that we live in with such grace. The literal translation of the book takes a highly spiritual stance, but in between the lines there is such depth of knowledge and understanding. While Nietzsche writes many chapters to express his understanding through Zarathustra, the theme s and messages are all very similar. Every chapter is like a piece of a grand puzzle that makes an intricate understanding of the world. Explaining the reality of what we think is reality would be too simple an explanation to fully grasp many of the concepts in Thus Spoke Zarathustra. That using words to describe such an amazing world would thus cheapen it to human standards. Of course, I cannot be one to speak such harsh words, as I am intent on cheapening the glorious concepts with my own meager words. 2 As I would like to discuss the book as a whole, I would like to use a chapter that is a good summary of Zarathustra s adventure of mind. The Three Metamorphoses has many elements of Nietzsche s overall message, and is suitable to somewhat accomplish the task of interpreting the book by using the literal translation and underlying meanings portrayed therein. Most times this is a struggle between more than one person, and or a struggle between oneself. There is always a logical side to a person and a passionate, expressive side, with the ones who decide to march under either flag. The two sides often divide our generation, leaving some with only having put their trust in one belief. These two sides, or beliefs bring up people such as mathematicians and artists, more relatively science minded individuals and individuals of faith. More recently through the generations over countless decades have these two sides become opposing forces. They have become two completely different views of living. Then employees would impersonate customers on Wells Fargo s computers and use these pin numbers to create online banking and bills for customers. Finally, a practice called bundling was done where Wells Fargo employees would mislead customers saying that certain banking products were only available in bundles which forced customers to add more products than they wanted.
