Toddlers And Tiaras Analysis
In her first Toddlers and Tiaras episode, beauty pageant contestant Alana Thompson proclaimed,
A dollar makes me holler, honey boo boo! The interviewers and camera crew laughed in
response. This and other statements rocketed Honey Boo Boo Child Alana Thompson s
popularity as the clips were turned into memes and GIFs and shared all over the internet. As a
result, a Toddlers and Tiaras spinoff was created with Alana and her family as the focus Here
Comes Honey Boo Boo. The show and family promoted the brand of the authentic life of a white,
Southern family. However, they fell victim to the producers who edited the way the family was
portrayed and the audiences who interpreted their performance of authenticity. Therefore, they were
stereotyped as a Southern, white trash family, despite their proud claims of being themselves. The...

For the object to be understood, producers must encode messages that reflect reality. Hall says that
television is...constituted by the combination of two types of discourse, visual and aural...[and]
it possesses some of the properties of the thing represented. Language exists outside of reality,
but images and sounds exist within reality: the linguistic sign, cow possesses none of the properties
of the thing represented, whereas the visual sign appears to possess some of those properties.
When one says Cow, it does not necessarily mean it is a cow. The word cow does not possess any
of the properties of a real cow. However, the image of cow must possess some of the properties of a
real cow to be the image of a cow. If one were to present an image of a dog, it would not be a cow.
If one heard audio of a dog barking, this also would not be a cow; however, if they heard audio of
a cow mooing, then this would be a cow. Therefore, the images and sounds that constitute television
reflect reality. The producerthen encodes messages into these images and sounds, which are then

Elsie De Wolfe s The House In Good Taste
Amongst my many interests when it comes to design, interior is one of my favourites, I am
forever changing my room dГ©cor and colours scheme it fit my mood or the season. Whilst
skimming through piles of text I came across Elsie De Wolfe s book The House in Good Taste .
Elsie De Wolfe was one of the first female interior designers of her time and I really like her take
on the aspects of interior design, rejecting the Victorian style that she grew up with and chasing
after a more vibrant and comfortable scheme. Though I have great respect for the grandeur of the
Victorian era with its gothic beauty I couldn t agree more with Elsie, when it comes to my own
interior exploits functionality and comfort are an important. Her designs being quite

An Analysis Of Equality s So Long A Road
Individuality and the strive to achieve happiness through science shown by Equality is
represented by So long a road lies before us and what care we if we must travel it alone. . A
metaphor for the life ahead of Equality is showcased by So long a road lies before us... .
Equality displays his determination to learn when he states ...what care we if we must travel it
alone. . He recognized his newfound love to research, he is more than willing to take on life
alone if he was doing something he enjoyed. Equality s mindset of ...what care we... is a
individualist approach very different from his brothers way of thinking. The citizens of his
society believe your actions should benefit The will of our brothers... . They believe you should
follow the Counsels orders, only going into depth at their request. My visual representation relates
to the quote because the road is drawn to show the literal meaning So long a road... . The grass

How Did Orpheus Feel Like After Eurydice
I feel like the written myth was better than the movie adaption of it. The movie made some sense
more dramatic than they needed to be and other sense that I thought were pretty important in the
myth was not in the movie at all. None the less I did not think the movie was all that bad when are
you are comparing it to the written myth. Reading the myth before watching the movie might be the
best thing, it helps explain some information that helps explain some things in the movie. One
aspect of the written myth that I really enjoyed is how they explained Orpheus and how his mother
gave him the gift of music, in the movie it is easy to tell that Orpheus really enjoyed music. It was
enjoyable to read the background information that explained... Show more content on

After reading the myth I feel like the director added the Death to show that Eurydice and
Orpheus relationship was failed from the beginning. They never had a chance to be together
they were doomed from the start. Apart from Death they also had to deal with Orpheus crazy
fiancГ© (Or ex fiancГ© but Orpheus never ended things with her) who did not want them
together. Mira was the total opposite of Eurydice. Eurydice had a feeling of innocence with her
where Mira just seemed to flaunt everything she had. I feel like Mira also could represent the
Viper that killed Eurydice in the myth. After she found out that Eurydice pretended to be her
cousin to be by Orpheus during the carnival she went crazy and chased after Eurydice. I feel like
the main image that showed Mira as the Viper is when she grabbed the giant staple like thing
they could represent fangs of a viper. I do not think the director put this scene in the movie for
no reason. One aspect of the movie that I liked would be the two little boys. They helped the
movie flow and the story seemed to be mostly told from their points of view. I did really like
how the end of the movie they seemed to end on more of a happy note compared to the myth. I
like how they represented a new Orpheus as one of the little boys since when he played Orpheus
guitar and sun started the rise. They ended the movie but still left

Analysis Of My Dream
Dream
In my dream, I saw my stepmom talking to a group of men. This group of men looked like they
were part of a bike gang, and they all had either a knife or a gun on them. The group of men had
scary tattoos all over them, leather vests, and distressed jeans on with boots. The men took off and
were headed to an apartment complex in search of someone. They didn t knock on any doors or try
to break into a specific apartment; they were just walking around looking for someone outside the
apartment buildings. When they found who they were looking for, they started running and
shooting towards that person. It was my father.
At this point in my dream, I started screaming and crying, but I wasn t actually in my dream. It felt

I then asked her to describe their tattoos, but again I got no answer. At that point, I knew that the
only two characters that I had to focus on were on her dad and her stepmother. When I ask the
dreamer to tell me about her stepmom, she replied by saying that she was an awful person and
that they never got along. She also added that when she was living with her, she felt like her
stepmom did not love her and that from the very beginning she was trying to separate her from
her dad. Then, when I ask her to tell me about her dad, she went on to tell me that her dad and
her, have always had a close bond, and that she feels until this day that she has to protect her dad
from her stepmom, as she has done some pretty bad stuff to her dad during and after their
marriage. I then ask the dreamer to explain what her stepmom has done to her dad in the past
and now that they are divorce? She discloses that when her dad was marry, her stepmom was not
a very responsible caregiver because she used to leaved her dad to take care of all the children and
all of the responsibilities of the house, and when her stepmom returned home there always seem
to be a lot of conflicts between her and her dad as he was starting to suspect that she was probably
cheating on him, but he was never sure if that was true or not. She also told me

Pro Gay Equality
To deny people their human rights, is to challenge their very humanity (Nelson Mandela). As a
result, the start of gay equality was seen when same sex marriage became legal on June 26 2015.
Peaceful protests were popular during 2015 to allow equality for homosexuals. However
homosexuals still face opposition in America as these groups are becoming unemployed due to
sexual discrimination; as well as denied basic accommodations and inadequate health care. Yet other
American s feel that oppression is necessary because people feel uncomfortable and believe
homosexualityis unnatural. However, we as Americans should move on from this form of thinking
because it makes us think backwards instead of forwards. While homosexuals endorse the fight for

Persuasive Essay On The Pension Crisis
Pension Crisis
When looking at for a governor that will contribute to a state s long term success, one must look
for the candidate that is not promising quick, instant relief, as citizens will have to pay for it
eventually. In the gubernatorial debate, while both candidates are unable to fully answer the
pension crisis question, Kim Guadagno seems to have the best ideas for addressing the issue.
Phil Murphy s take on the issue is that he desires to fully fund pension obligations as fast as
possible, as this will gain the trust of New Jersey citizens back. This sounds great in theory, but
it is important to look at how he is going to do this; in the debate he is unable to explain his plan.
Guadagno addresses the issue by stating that in order to fix the problem, fifteen billion dollars of
New Jersey s thirty four billion dollar budget will be required. This would mean budget cuts in
almost all other areas of spending such as education and transportation. While Phil Murphy s plan
seems great, Guadagno quickly makes it clear that it is nearly impossible to achieve. If Murphy
were to achieve his goal, New Jersey citizens would pay the price, and they would continue to pay
the price for a long time. Guadagno, while not clearly stating her plan, believes that it is best to
address the issue with a thoughtful, affordable approach. In conclusion, Murphy s plan might
benefit certain citizens for a brief period of time, but will hurt citizens in the long run, therefore,

A Study On Low Back Pain Patients With Associated Leg Pain...
Abstract
Background: Low back pain patients with associated leg pain symptoms generally have a poorer
prognostic outcome compared to those with localised low back pain. Therefore, this study will
investigate the difference in clinical outcomes associated with low back pain patients with and
without self reported leg pain symptoms. This study will also address if additional co factors such
as age, sex, and occupation have an effect on the severity of these clinical outcomes. The clinical
outcomes which will be considered are pain rating, interference with active daily living (ADL)
rating, anxiety rating, depression rating and control of pain rating.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study compares adult low back pain patients with localised pain
(n = 58) to low back pain patients with self reported leg pain symptoms (n = 54) who presented for
chiropractic treatment. Patients completed the WIOC patient outcomes questionnaire as baseline
which consisted of the Bournemouth Questionnaire, recording responses from an 11 point
numerical scale (NRS). Demographic information was also collected. Differences between the two
groups using the data collected from this questionnaire were calculated using the Mann Whitney U
test. Differences between age and sex were also calculated using the test used.

How Tina Fey Changed Our Lives
All these places have their moments. With lovers and friends I still can recall. Some are dead
and some are living. In my life, I ve loved them all (The Beatles, In My Life). Us humans spend
our time in the world as voyagers on an endless journey. Our curiosity propels us into new,
exhilarating situations that result in more mistakes, more mishaps, and more memories as a result
of it. Without these mementos that are tucked away in our minds, who would we be? What would
become of us? It is these moments in life, whether pleasurable or painful, that mold us into the
individuals we are.
In her book, Bossypants, Tina Fey speaks about her journey through the entertainment industry,
and says, I know that on that first writing night, I completely froze up. I sat at my computer from
one p.m. Tuesday afternoon until nine a.m. Wednesday morning and nothing came out. . . I d
been improvising with five other people every night for two years (Fey, 133). Tina Fey began
working with Saturday Night Live in 1997. Since then, she has produced unforgettable skits such
as, Mom Jeans, and Women s News. However, during these first writing days, she struggled to

on year would grow steadily at 4% and that power costs would grow at 12% per year up to 1989.
We also assumed that the benefits of laminate technology will only be felt starting in 1981. With

Camouflage Brandy Analysis
Throughout history, Musicians have used songs to tell stories, raise questions, and express
their feelings. In Camouflage by Brandy Norwood, she conveys her realization that love comes
naturally, and no one should have to change who they are in order to be love by giving an
ultimatum through the use of metaphors, imagery, and word choices. This song is also
empowering and uplifting through its use of words. In Camouflage Brandy uses metaphor and
imagery to reveal and embrace her personality. I m a work in progress, I m a seed grown into a
flower (Norwood 1 and 2). She compares herself to a work in progress, which infers that she is
unstable, disorganized, and is not complete as a person. Brandy also states that she is a seed
grown into a flower, a seed by itself is not seen as beautiful, but as time passes it grows and the
flower blooms. The flower that blossom has a pretty color smells nice, and seen as beautiful and
appreciated by people. Even with all of her flaws, she realizes that I aint t perfect, Tell me who in

What Is The Role Of Women In The Tang Dynasty And Women
Women in Ancient China during the Han Dynasty and Tang Dynasty lived in oppressed lives.
Society perceived them as inferior to their husbands and parents in law. Their role in the family
were to be housewives taking care of their family and maintaining the household chores. They were
always under the instructions of their husbands and parents in law in they were treated like
servants. They also had no control in their personal decisions because they were not allowed to
decide who they were going to marry and what they wanted to do in their careers. Parents of
daughters would also force their daughters to foot binding because it would attract potential wealthy
husbands. This paper argues that although the Han Dynastyand Tang Dynastywere known as the
golden periods for China, nevertheless, it was overlooked by historians that women during the time
were victims of gender inequality because they lived with no control over their personal lives and
were expected to be submissive to their husbands.
Women were considered inferior to their husbands and were expected to be obedient to them.
According to Mencius, one of Confucius most important follower who spread the teachings of
Confucianism, When a daughter marries, her mother instructs her. Sending her off at the gate, she
cautions her, saying, When you go to your family, you must be respectful, and you must be
cautious. Do not disobey your husband. To regard obedience as proper is the Way of a wife or
concubine.

Metallica Research Paper
Metallica is considered one of the first metal bands of the early eighties. They are a part of the
big four, the other three include Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer. The metal genre is proven to
have the biggest fan base over any other genre. In this article I will only be talking about their
early years and going up to their first four albums. Most diehard Metallicafans will argue that their
first four albums are true Metallica and after that they went mainstream to try and branch out to
other audiences.

Children In The Foster Care System
Many children are raised within the foster care system. Children within the foster care system and
vulnerable children are exposed to many different psychosocial hardships that include a wide range
of health problems. Both foster children and vulnerable children are at a higher risk for developing
psychosocial and developmental problems along with educational and behavioral stumbling blocks.
Most children within foster caresystems are there due to family risk factors within the home that
include domestic violence, parental mental health disorders, parental substance abuse, and lack
of parental care. The health care pathways for children in foster care are extremely scarce.
Children in the foster care system and other vulnerable children that are in parental care showed
many risk factors associated with their development. Some of these factors were incomplete
immunizations, speech delays, and developmental delays. The methods used within this journal
article was based on a study of children between the ages of birth to eighteen years of age who
attended a clinic because their parents had a substance abuse problem, a mental illness or an
intellectual disability. This method also includes children who were referred by child protection
services due to concerns. The study was done within a 12 month period from December 2007

Chicken pox (Varicella) is a virus that is highly contagious by contact from person to person.
Varicella can occurs at any age in life, especially to those that are immune compromised, where
they lose the ability to fight the virus. Though Chicken Pox is not a deadly disease, it causes
uncomfortable symptoms, such as itch, rash, red spots all over the body. As for those that already
have suffered from chicken pox, the virus doesn t completely get eradicated from the body, but it
stays dormant in the coccyx bone. As it is an opportunistic virus, that waits for the body to have

When chicken pox outbreak is suspected within the community; for example, an elementary school,
the first step the nurse should do is to isolate the case from their surround to prevent further

Cost Center Definition
Unlike a profit center, a cost center is not operated with the intention of earning revenue or making
a profit directly. Instead, it is a part of a business that generates costs without making money. A
cost center only enables profit centers to generate revenue. For example, in a small retail business,
each store, or each class of products, may operate as a profit center, while the customer service and
human resources divisions operate as cost centers.
A cost centre is a department within a company that does not produce direct profit and adds to
the cost of running a company. However, all cost centres perform an important job. It improves
the satisfaction of customers and indirectly increases sales.[1] The manager and employees of
cost centre are not accountable for its profit and investment decision but they are responsible for
its cost.[2] They are liable for keeping their cost in line or below budget because cost centre does
not produce directly from its activities.[3] The performance of the managers is assessed by
comparing the actual expenses incurred with the budgeted expenses for the cost centre. Basically
cost is the control data in the cost centre. [
Furthermore, the main objective of a cost centre is to minimize cost whereas

Trade was an integral part of survival and income during the common era. Between 600 C.E. and
1450 C.E, the Indian Ocean trade network and the Trans Saharan trade network had Arab traders
travel and change the way sea trade developed and became extraordinarily successful. Trade created
communication and familiarity between people of different background and where they reside
from. Communication of people lead to diversification of culture, creating unions of people starting
enormous perceptions of culture. The Trans Saharan trade and the Indian Ocean trade were very

What is Cataract? Cataract is known as a build up of protein clouding the eye lens which distorts
or blocks the light entering the eye. When new lens cells form on the outside of the lens, all
older cells are compacted into the center of the lens which therefore causes Cataract. Cataract can
be partial or complete, stationary or progressive, hard or soft. There are 3 types of cataract known
as Nuclear Sclerosis, Cortical Cataracts, Posterior Subcapsular cataracts. But the most common
type of cataract is Nuclear sclerosis. Which involves in the central part of the lens. Sclerotic is due

Abdominal Wounds Research Paper
Chest and abdominal wounds were nearly always fatal. Treatment of abdominal wounds often
involved pushing in protruding organs and suturing the wound. Food was withheld because fecal
material leaking from the intestines caused contamination. Opium was often administered to halt
the action of the digestive system. Chest wounds were cleaned and the woundwas sutured.
Abdominal wounds were fatal in almost 90 percent of the cases reported by Union surgeons.
An example of this is the case of Henry A. Barnum. Major General Henry A. Barnum was injured
at Malvern Hill, Virginia on July 1st, 1862, by a musket ball that passed through his left lower
abdomen. The ball penetrated his intestines and hip bone. The wound was determined to be fatal
and he was left in a field hospital. A few days later, he was captured by the enemy and taken 18

The grisly wounds caused by bullets and shrapnel were often contaminated by clothing and other
debris. Cleaning such a wound was time consuming and often ineffective. However, amputation

Teaching Is An Integral Part Of My Personality
Teaching is an integral part of my personality, it is not just a job that takes a few hours of my
day, nor is it a means to earn a living, rather it is a way of life. Since the early days of my youth, I
used to imagine myself as a teacher, and to discuss with myself what I have learned, directing
questions and trying to extract answers. Such a way proved to be very fruitful, not only in
explaining the targeted topics, but also in raising new ideas in my mind. Afterwards it became
clear to me; I know that I understand something when I can explain it to others. This has become
my way of dealing with any subject. When the topic is difficult, I consider myself in front of a
personal challenge, and do my best to simplify it into its easiest possible level. This has become my
basic contribution in teaching, to dismantle any complex topic to its simplest elements, so that
students do not face any problem in dealing with it; that is in discussing, analysing, and
understanding it. The conversion of complex ideas into simpler equivalents is such an arduous task
that requires time and effort, but I chose this it as my method in teaching, because I believe that it
is the students right to get clear ideas, not a confused set of thoughts. Apart from my personal
inclinations, my teaching experience has provided me with a good opportunity to deal with
students from diverse backgrounds, and to explore different teaching methods with them. As a
lecturer at Cairo University, I have gained

The Amphitheater Named After The Flavian Dynasty
The Flavian amphitheater named after the Flavian dynasty emperors who built it or better known
as The Colosseum was a large arena built in 80 C.E. and used for gladiatorial games, mock sea
battles, theater plays, and public executions until its fall to christianity in 404 C.E. It was called the
Colosseum for the great statue of Nero nearby named Colossus. The Colosseum, also known as the
flavian amphitheater was built of travertine stone from the quarries of Albulae. The massive
stone blocks that made up a good portion of the seating, arena, and the massive stone columns
that supported the magnificent structure were moved to Rome on a road constructed specifically
for that purpose. The seating consisted of 45,000 seats, arranged in an oval surrounding the
arena. It also had 5,000 standing places for the Roman public. It had 80 arched entrances all
around the arena, with 4 of them being non accessible to the public at the minor and major axises.
The entrances at the major axis provided direct access to the arena. The minor axis entrances
provided access to the special seating boxes for the emperor, empress and other very important
people. It measured 527 meters in circumference and its diameters were 189 and 156 meters, with
the height of the structure being 48 meters high. (romancolosseum.org) The seating nearest to the
arena was reserved for very important Romans like the emperor the vestal virgins and priests. The

The Weaknesses Of Marcus Brutus In Shakespeare s Julius...
At the end of William Shakespeare s Julius Ceasar, it was Marcus Antonius that said upon
Marcus Brutus death, This was the noblest Roman of them all... . I would have to agree with that
statement for many reasons. Though, what I ve seen as his strengths, there are some that also
serve as his weaknesses. Brutus lives by a strict moral compass and code of ethics entwined with
a rigid sense of idealism. All of which are great virtues but are also deadly flaws. Brutus acts out
of a desire to limit the self serving aspects of his actions. Ironically, however, in each instance, he
dooms the very cause that he seeks to promote, which does no one any good. Also, his commitment
to principle repeatedly leads him to make mistakes. In the play, where

Reflective Essay On Meditation
Meditation is a state of consciousness without focus on the world around you. The goal of
meditation varies for each individual, but it is typically done to achieve a sense of calm, reduce
anxiety, become self aware, and gain a broader sense of perspective. There are various activities
that are meditative and can deliver the mindclearing sensation, but I chose the traditional form of
seated meditation. When I chose meditation as my personal life change, I had no desired
outcome. I simply chose meditation because of my interest in Buddhism, and maybe even the
opportunity to one of those pretentious people who brag about how spiritually whole they are.
Meditation can be done anywhere as long as you re in a comfortable, seated position. However, I
found that there are other contributing factors to a successful meditation. After my first attempt
meditating, I came to the realization that it is much simpler to clear your mind in certain
locations. I began meditating in the comfort of my home alongside a scented candle, but I
noticed quite quickly that it is a lot easier to reduce stress when you aren t able to hear the
sources of your stress parading around in the kitchen. After moving my meditation location to a
hammock in my backyard, I was able to focus on my breath, the delicate inhalations and powerful
exhalations, and the cool September air that cooled my body, as opposed to what was assigned in

Law Enforcement Officers Face Incredible Dangers Essay
Law enforcement officers have encountered some very deadly days. The life of a law
enforcement officer is one of constantly being aware of your surroundings, dealing with the
uncertainty of not knowing the individuals you have to approach, and being able to cope with
the visual images seen after vicious crimes. The life of a law enforcement officer, who protects
and serves, is both challenging and rewarding. The first law enforcement system was established
in Boston, Massachusetts over 350 years ago. During this time in the Colonies that were not
heavily populated, the sheriff served as the main law enforcement officer. During the 1800 s, 24
hour law enforcement service and systems similar to what is used today began to emerge
(NLEMI). Law enforcement officers face incredible dangers. With over 900,000 law
enforcement officers nationwide the Federal Bureau of Investigations reported approximately
1,165,383 violent crimes in 2014. Approximately one law enforcement officer dies every 61
hours (NLEMI).The law enforcement profession is the most challenging and dangerous career,
because officers must be aware of every law and action they take at all times, manage constant
training and stress, and protecting others as well as themselves in the line of duty. Law
enforcement officers must be aware of the laws governing the state they work in and analyze every
action the decide to take. The number of statutes and laws is enormous. For example, there are

Animal Abandonment Research Paper
ANIMAL ABANDONMENT According to animal rights action.com, One of the largest problems

abandonment, they think of dogs on the streets or cats on a roof but animal abandonment is much

Many say reject the reason that it wasn t their fault. All the reasons so far all lead up to not
being educated about what they can do about the problem that is more productive and does not
affect the animal s health and does not affect the society. That is one of the reasons to be
educated to be aware of the problem and approach it at the right angle to solve it. According to
prime.peta.org, One of the reasons that does stick out is because of cruelty which is big but not a
very important one since it can be solved easily by an education. The reason for abandonment is
spayment and nurturing. When an animal is spayed or neutered, it is unable to create puppies
/kittens. However, this is not considered a bad thing to not have your dog/cat not have babies.
When people want a lot of cute puppies, they get a couple but then they want a lot more. So they
have their dog make more babies and create a large litter. Most people do not realize what they
are doing, they are giving birth to more puppies than they can handle. And once they realize that
their are too many they usually keep the cuter ones and abandon the other ones. Or, sometimes
they give them to someone else they just buy another dog instead of adopting dogs like them who
have been given up or abandoned. So far this shows that adopting a dog/cat is way more productive

The First Type Of A Person Essay
An individual can be one of three types of people when he is trying to remember someone. The
first type is someone who would off the bat recognize the other person as being familiar, but just
cannot recall that person s name in that exact moment. The second type would be someone who
recognizes the person by name, but would not recognize him when he sees him in person. The
third type is the person would be the star individual who could correctly recognize the person
and confidently greet the person by name. The majority of my friends, as well as myself, often
lean towards the first type of person. The feeling that the word, such as the name of a person, is
within grasp, but for some reason, you are incapable of verbalizing the word is known as the tip
of the tongue phenomenon. It is also frequently referred to as its abbreviated name: TOT. More
often than not, we are used to hearing about your parents or someone older who you know
experiencing episodes of forgetting where they placed items, such as their car keys, are. As
troublesome as it may be, it is merely a symptom of growing older.
As we age, our memory will start to deteriorate along with our youthful appearance, causing us to
have a harder time to recall information, such as names. Information lasting more than 30 seconds
in your mind gets moved from your working memory to your long term memory where it is stored
for the rest of your life. Psychologists believe long term memory is unlimited whereas short term or

Counseling And Christian Perspective On Counseling
Counseling and Christian Perspective Studying psychology and philosophy has made me ask
many questions. By what principles do people make decisions? What drives us? Where do
emotions come from? Are there such things as unconscious motives and thoughts or are those
ideas nothing more than the clever and profitable figment of psychologists imagination?
However, the main question I struggled with is who we are and how we operate? Counseling is
seen as a very solution focused approach. The temptation to rush quickly to the end of the
mystery novel must be resisted. The detective s clever conclusions cannot be fully appreciated
without first understanding the complexities of the tangle he unravels. The same principle
applies here: an adequate appreciation of solutions depends on an adequate understanding of
people and their problems. The Christian community and secular communities are overrun with
ideas about wholeness and growth. The solution of Calvary, for example, is only valued too the
degree that the problem of sin is grasped. If we skip the hard and sometimes tedious work of
figuring out who we are and why we struggle so much, then our efforts as counselors to help
others will be shallow and, in the long run, unhelpful. The relationship between Christianity and
Counseling Trust and obey, for there s no other way to be happy in Jesus. Could it really be as
simple as the hymn suggests? This sort of thinking sounds very hopelessly naive and dangerously
superficial. If

Pros And Cons Of Bruichladdich
Bruichladdich is no stranger to No Age Statement whisky. In fact over the past ten or twelve years

first viewed by the distillery as a necessary maneuver in order to get whisky on the shelves

Considering how fundamentally opposed I am to the idea of opaque marketing with whisky, I
imagine it s somewhat surprising (even to myself, if I m to be honest) how much I adore and
support Bruichladdich.
Let s face it...no other distillery has done as much to reinvigorate the whisky world over the last
few years as Bruichladdich. They ve pushed hard for higher bottling strengths first 46% as a
standard, and now 50%. They ve foregone artificial colouring. They ve made a mockery of the
concept of chill filtration. Their employment of local labour is staggering, especially viewed in

Abstract
E mail: shilisun@hotmail.com
As one of the key stable factors , culture within an organization is playing a critical role in the
organization s everyday operations. Although the culture literature has at times focused on the
culture of an organization as shared basic assumptions (Schein, 1985), or as metaphors within
organizations (Morgan, 1986, 1997), it is not sufficient to attempt to understand and measure them.

Whereas Hofstede (1984) wrote of the collective programming of the mind which distinguishes the
members of one human group from another as the meaning of the term organizational culture,
which seems an interesting way of understanding the notion, and despite he discovered four areas
of work related value differences at that time (power distance; uncertainty avoidance; individualism
/collectivism; masculinity/femininity), however, in 1992, Hofstede used the term practices to refer
to social and cultural phenomena, and in Hofstede s perspective, it is quite important to locate the
deeply held values of organization members at the very center of the organization s culture. In
reality, for some organization members, these values will be so deeply held that they will not be
possible to change at all. However, how we choose to define culture has considerable implications
for how we attempt to examine and study it, different authorities in the literature has introduced
different interpretations. In practice, no matter what size or nature it is, an organization might have

Management of innovation requires one to set goals and lay out concrete plans. Dean never shied
away from this. In his presentation of the slingshot technology, he elaborately layout his plans for
inventing the technology saying that; he intended to have the technology solve the water problem
around the world. He wanted to eliminate more than 3.5 million people who die annually due to
lack of access to clean drinking water around the world as per the World Health Organization
report. Initially, the machine was costing high, but Dean was planning on how best to have the
machine capped down to affordable prices based on the principle of economy of scales. This was
to enable the majority of the poor households in the developing countries easily access the machine
s services, and thus, increase their chance of accessing clean drinkable water through purification of
the available dirty water. His plan still goes further by ensuring his water purification technology

remains an integral part of every innovation as its manager endeavors to having it serve its purpose
in addition to him reaping its benefits; hence, Dean s innovation is no exception in this managerial

Feliks Skrzynecki explores the relationship between the poet and his father, and their contrasting
experiences of belonging in a new land. The poem is written from the poet s perspective of his
father. In the first two stanzas he sees him from the perspective of a loving son and builds up a
positive and respectful image of his father. The emotive word gentle suggests his fond attachment
and admiration for his father who has raised him. This admiration was not apparent in his youth as
Skrzynecki recognises that there were cultural barriers between them that hampered the father son
relationship. This poem explores Feliks s sense not fully belonging to Australia and his son s

Gold Standard Pros And Cons Essay
Gold standard means tying the value of the dollar to the price of gold. Gold standard provides
some significant pros for the economics. Firstly, the amount of gold that a country owns limits
the amount of paper money it can print. Therefore, the limited supply of money might prevent
inflation. Under the gold standard, it is difficult to inflate prices by excess issuance of paper
currency. In addition, the gold standard helps to keep prices stable and dollar fixed in terms of
gold also has the property of stability. More specific, the gold standard limits the rate of money
which could constrain the government s ability to abuse the money. Transitioning back to the gold

In present, the U.S. gross domestic product is about $15 trillion, while the gold owned by the
government is about $405 billion dollars. This gold can t support the $15 trillion economy. What
s more, the supply and demand of gold is also a problem. When the demand of gold goes up, it
will encourage people to search for more gold, and that will devalue the existing money and
waste the resources. Also, when there is a shortage of the supply of gold, people will worry that
their bank couldn t exchange paper money to gold. That would be a terrible effect to the
economy. Great Depression is an example shows that the gold standard could put more people out
of work and cause instability to economy. Gold standard was a reason that caused the deflation
and unemployment during the Great Depression. According to Mark Thoma, an economics
professor at the University of Oregon, he stated on the New York Times that A gold standard
would mean that monetary policy could no longer be used to stabilize the economy. (Thoma,
2011). And James D. Hamilton, a professor of economics at the University of California, San
Diego, also supported that Recovery from the Great Depression typically began only after the
country abandoned the gold standard, which led to wage and price deflation. (Hamilton,

The Disadvantageous Of Web Gis
The Disadvantageous of Web GIS Their Solutions Whether it is scientific, social, technological, or
theoretical, there are always flaws and improvements that can be created for a particular topic. The
iPhone first came out in 2007 with features such as Visual Voicemail, multi touch gestures, HTML
email, Safari web browser, threaded text messaging, and Youtube. Many of the features that are
common in Smartphones today such as MMS, apps, and copy and paste, did not exist. However,
every year since 2007, the iPhone gradually became more advanced with a multitude of features
available. This same concept can be applied to the flaws of Web GIS. This system is faulty,
however, with the continuous advancement in technology and more research that can be conducted
on the structure of this platform, several InternetGIS may be resolved. Internet GIS, while a
powerful tool, has a broad range of issues varying from technological complications to social justice
issues.
There are many Web GIS issues that must be resolved in order for its full potential to be
maximized. Firstly, the Web GIS environment is dependent on several technological factors. Among
these are internet connection and speed (Dragicevic, 2004), traffic intensity, data efficiency, and
the capacity of the client and server machines (Kraak, 2004). Internet GIS relies heavily on the
extensive use of graphics, and connection speeds over the Internet can make heavy use of graphic
intolerably slow for users.

The Evolution Of Barbers
Barbers of the past and the future. When we look at designs that we put on ourselves now days,
we mostly think of Louis Vuitton clothes or bags, or those new pair of Jordan s that cost about

same. There are hundreds of kinds of natural hair and comes with it hundreds of kinds of hair

Reggae, a generic name for all Jamaican popular music since 1960, is defined as a West Indian
style of music with a strongly accented subsidiary beat (Chang). Reggae music is a great style of
music that was popularized by one of the world s most famous musicians, Bob Marley.
Personally, I never listened to it until I made it to college, and it has quickly become one of my
favorite genres. For that reason is why I chose to write this paper on Reggaemusic. This genre is a
very calming and relaxing style of music, which helps me when I am trying to focus on doing

In this portion of the paper I will be focusing on Bob Marley and give an introduction to who he is,
how he learned his music and how he became famous. On February 6, 1945 in Saint Ann,
Jamaica, Bob Marley was born. His father was a white Englishman and his mother was a black
Jamaican. When Marley was ten years old his father died, and at that point his mother moved
him to Kingston s Trechtown neighborhood. As a teenager in Kingston he became friends with
Bunny Wailer and this is when Marley learned to play music. When Marley was 14 years old he
decided to drop out of school so he could learn the welding trade, and at the same time he spent
his spare time jamming with Bunny and Ska musician Joe Higgs. In 1962 Bob had recorded his
first two singles but neither one of them had received any interest at the time. The following year
he began a Ska band with his friend Bunny and Peter Tosh, which was originally called The
Teenagers . They then became known as The Wailing Rudeboys and after a few more name
changes they eventually came up with simply The Wailers. In 1964 they came out with their
earliest Studio One hit which was recorded in the popular rock steady style, Simmer Down.
Following that track they came out with another hit in 1965 that was entitled Soul Rebel in which
both songs were written by Marley. In 1966 Marley married Rita Anderson, they had 12 kids

All My Sons Essay
Life is full of many hard decisions that people have to take, often on the spur of the moment.
Some we get right others turn horribly wrong. Joe Keller, the tragic hero of Arthur Miller s play All
My Sons, was no different. His whole life was dedicated to his family and their well being but all
his plans were undone by one fatally flawed decision.
The audience can relate to Joe and feel sympathy for him because he was a good man who did
many great things for his family and in the end paid the ultimate price. Towards the end of the play,
Joe s son Chris anguishes over the fatally flawed decision made by his father, thus eliciting the
sympathy of the audience. However, this is not enough to detract from the audience relating to Joe

Joe doesn t have many bad qualities in him the only times the audience do see such qualities is
when he speaks ill of Steve to others like when he says, I owe him a good kick in the teeth (Act 2,
p47). However, the audience knows he does not really mean these things but only says them to
cover up his fatal mistake. So we forgive Joe his mistake because as Plutarch, the Delphic priest,
said almost 2000 years ago, to make no mistakes is not in the power of man and also because Joe
tries to rectify his mistake by offering to give Steve a good job when he gets out of prison and
offering to help Steve s children.
Joe has spent his life making many decisions most of which appear to have been good decisions
resulting in his family enjoying a comfortable life. The audience admires him for this.
Unfortunately, late one night Joe made a hurried decision, which he believed he could get away
with. The reasons for his decision comes to light near the end of the play, in Act 2, when he tells
Chris why he made that decision, I m a business man, a man is in business; a hundred and twenty
cracked, you re out of business, you got a process, the process don t work you re out of business;
you don t know how to operate, your stuff is no good; they close you up, they tear up your contract

Mamie P. Kenneth B. Clark
Biographical Information
Mamie Phipps and Kenneth Bancroft Clark are best known for their doll studies, and the use of
their findings regarding the effects of racism on the psychological identity of black children in the
historic Brown vs. the Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas case, which lead to the
determination that separate but equal education for black students was unconstitutional. Mamie

Kenneth Bancroft Clark was born July 24, 1914 in the Panama Canal Zone to parents of Jamaican
and West Indian descent (Kennedy, 2015). Like his wife, Kenneth Bancroft Clark also attended
Howard University and then Columbia University where he would become the first black man to
earn a Ph.D. in psychology (Kennedy, 2015). While at Columbia University, he was associated
with Gunnar Myrdal, a Swedish economist known for both his study of race relations and his
contributions to desegregation in the United States (Larson, 2014). Both Clarks are tied to the
Civil Rights Movement and their work is aligned with the social reconstructionist curriculum
ideology of the time period. Both Clarks define the ideal of what W.E.B. Du Bois (1903) hoped to
achieve with his Talented Tenth in that both pursued the highest levels of education and then
sought to use that education as a means of improving the lives of black people, particularly black
children. Kenneth Bancroft Clark was committed to the promotion of social action and believed
that change needed to occur in the behavior of both white and well as black people (Freeman,
2008, p. 419).
Theoretical Information
The psychological work of both Clarks is focused in the area of racial identity among black youth
(Gibbons Van Nort, 2009, p. 29). They sought to provide evidence of the detrimental effects of a
society where social norms are biased toward white culture. Though the Clarks are most widely

Memories Of Murder
Why the isn t the case solved in memories of murder
The movie memories of murder takes a unique take on a mystery movie where the case is never
solved even though it could have been easily solved due to a plot point in the story. There are
some other reasons behind the decision to not solve the case one of them being that this movie
was based off a true ,story korea s first serial killer witch was made not to long after the original
case. this case was never solved so it s only fair that the movie was as well, and because of this
the director could do some interesting takes on some scenes that he couldn t do otherwise. First
off the mystery could have been solved at the very beginning the detectives found a witness of the
killer but because they interrogate the witness and beat a confession out of him they learned
nothing about who the true killer is. This was done to show as a detective you don t you want to
find the killer but you don t want to get a fake confession. This was a very common practice by
cops at the time to beat suspects and a recurring theme with all the other suspects in the film.
Arrested beat until they confessed then evidence appears that proves them innocent. ... Show more

Coraline Symbolism
A dream turned into a nightmare. This happens to Coraline, the main protagonist in the novel
Coraline by Neil Gaiman. In the novel, a young girl named Coraline moves into a large house
divides into apartments. She lives with her parents who both work, leaving Coraline to feel
ignored. One day she accesses a portal to a mirror like house where her other parents live. At first
her other parents seem like a dream, offering her whatever she wants and giving her constant
attention. Coralinesoon learns that the other world is not all that it seems and that she must escape
in order to save herself and her parents. Unlike most children books, Coralineis a creepy postmodern
fairy tale that uses elements of the uncanny to evoke fear in the reader. Freud s concept of the
uncanny is helpful in explaining the text s appeal, and it s creepy uneasiness. Coraline focuses
on people s fears about existence and identity as individual beings. Coraline must battle against
her other mother to be independent from her and thus develop her own identity and desires.
While the novel appears to be a mild horror story, Henry Selicks stop action photography
adaptation of the novel has a different tone and uses concepts of the uncanny is more subtle ways.
By using added characters, deleted scenes, and less grotesque imagery Henry Selick is able a
children s adventure story while Neil Gaimans novel focused on concepts of the uncanny and the
fear of losing one s identity. The film begins with an evocative opening scene in which a pair of
skeletal, robotic hands stich a doll identical to Coraline and then sends it floating out of a
window. For most viewers the doll is viewed as a spy for the other mother. It is a portal between
the two worlds that allows the other mother to cross between both. It is used to heighten the picture
s anti realistic, otherworldly mood (time). The scene was not in the novel and was instead added to
make references to the uncanny that is used more in the novel. The doll being made is uncanny.
The stitching of the doll is unsettling because it is non human hands acting in a human way. The
doll acts as a doppelganger, an inanimate thing that appears to move but yet is controlled by the
other mother,

Unlike classical and contiguity theories which are ultimately based on the association, operant

The behaviourism learning theory makes use of any number of these three main strategies as a

Because behaviourism may incorporate many different teaching methods in it the results produced

The Effects Of Positive And Negative Police Relations
The Effect of Positive and Negative Police Community Relations
Anastasia Allen
American Public Community System
An understanding of police community relations is crucial because both positive and negative
police relations can greatly impact policing. Positive or negative police community relations can
result from a variety of factors including cooperation, race issues, corruption, fear or assurance of
police, and violence. When the community and police relations are positive, the police better
understand the community s needs and the community is more inclined to report crimes and aid the
police. When community and police relations are negative, the police do not understand the
community s needs which leads the pubic, especially those who experience high levels of crime, to
feel that the police do more harm than good.
Throughout the 20th century there have been major issues relating to poor police community
relationships. In more recent years they have been numerous problems with the police community
relations that have led to difficult situations including the Rodney King beating and the 1992 LA
riots, the Timothy Thomas shooting and the 2001 Cincinnati riots, as well as the more recent
Michael Brown shooting and 2014 Ferguson riots. In all of these situations the police community
relationship was strained and after a final straw event, rioting erupted to force a change. As seen
with these examples, many of the most explosive events resulting from poor

  • 3. Toddlers And Tiaras Analysis In her first Toddlers and Tiaras episode, beauty pageant contestant Alana Thompson proclaimed, A dollar makes me holler, honey boo boo! The interviewers and camera crew laughed in response. This and other statements rocketed Honey Boo Boo Child Alana Thompson s popularity as the clips were turned into memes and GIFs and shared all over the internet. As a result, a Toddlers and Tiaras spinoff was created with Alana and her family as the focus Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. The show and family promoted the brand of the authentic life of a white, Southern family. However, they fell victim to the producers who edited the way the family was portrayed and the audiences who interpreted their performance of authenticity. Therefore, they were stereotyped as a Southern, white trash family, despite their proud claims of being themselves. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the object to be understood, producers must encode messages that reflect reality. Hall says that television is...constituted by the combination of two types of discourse, visual and aural...[and] it possesses some of the properties of the thing represented. Language exists outside of reality, but images and sounds exist within reality: the linguistic sign, cow possesses none of the properties of the thing represented, whereas the visual sign appears to possess some of those properties. When one says Cow, it does not necessarily mean it is a cow. The word cow does not possess any of the properties of a real cow. However, the image of cow must possess some of the properties of a real cow to be the image of a cow. If one were to present an image of a dog, it would not be a cow. If one heard audio of a dog barking, this also would not be a cow; however, if they heard audio of a cow mooing, then this would be a cow. Therefore, the images and sounds that constitute television reflect reality. The producerthen encodes messages into these images and sounds, which are then decoded by the ... Elsie De Wolfe s The House In Good Taste Amongst my many interests when it comes to design, interior is one of my favourites, I am forever changing my room dГ©cor and colours scheme it fit my mood or the season. Whilst skimming through piles of text I came across Elsie De Wolfe s book The House in Good Taste . Elsie De Wolfe was one of the first female interior designers of her time and I really like her take on the aspects of interior design, rejecting the Victorian style that she grew up with and chasing after a more vibrant and comfortable scheme. Though I have great respect for the grandeur of the Victorian era with its gothic beauty I couldn t agree more with Elsie, when it comes to my own interior exploits functionality and comfort are an important. An Analysis Of Equality s So Long A Road Individuality and the strive to achieve happiness through science shown by Equality is represented by So long a road lies before us and what care we if we must travel it alone. . A metaphor for the life ahead of Equality is showcased by So long a road lies before us... . Equality displays his determination to learn when he states ...what care we if we must travel it alone. . He recognized his newfound love to research, he is more than willing to take on life alone if he was doing something he enjoyed. Equality s mindset of ...what care we... is a individualist approach very different from his brothers way of thinking. The citizens of his society believe your actions should benefit The will of our brothers... . They believe you should follow the Counsels orders, only going into depth at their request. • 6. How Did Orpheus Feel Like After Eurydice I feel like the written myth was better than the movie adaption of it. The movie made some sense more dramatic than they needed to be and other sense that I thought were pretty important in the myth was not in the movie at all. None the less I did not think the movie was all that bad when are you are comparing it to the written myth. Reading the myth before watching the movie might be the best thing, it helps explain some information that helps explain some things in the movie. One aspect of the written myth that I really enjoyed is how they explained Orpheus and how his mother gave him the gift of music, in the movie it is easy to tell that Orpheus really enjoyed music. It was enjoyable to read the background information that explained... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After reading the myth I feel like the director added the Death to show that Eurydice and Orpheus relationship was failed from the beginning. They never had a chance to be together they were doomed from the start. Apart from Death they also had to deal with Orpheus crazy fiancГ© (Or ex fiancГ© but Orpheus never ended things with her) who did not want them together. Mira was the total opposite of Eurydice. Eurydice had a feeling of innocence with her where Mira just seemed to flaunt everything she had. I feel like Mira also could represent the Viper that killed Eurydice in the myth. After she found out that Eurydice pretended to be her cousin to be by Orpheus during the carnival she went crazy and chased after Eurydice. I feel like the main image that showed Mira as the Viper is when she grabbed the giant staple like thing they could represent fangs of a viper. I do not think the director put this scene in the movie for no reason. One aspect of the movie that I liked would be the two little boys. They helped the movie flow and the story seemed to be mostly told from their points of view. I did really like how the end of the movie they seemed to end on more of a happy note compared to the myth. I like how they represented a new Orpheus as one of the little boys since when he played Orpheus guitar and sun started the rise. They ended the movie but still left ... This group of men looked like they were part of a bike gang, and they all had either a knife or a gun on them. The group of men had scary tattoos all over them, leather vests, and distressed jeans on with boots. The men took off and were headed to an apartment complex in search of someone. They didn t knock on any doors or try to break into a specific apartment; they were just walking around looking for someone outside the apartment buildings. She also added that when she was living with her, she felt like her stepmom did not love her and that from the very beginning she was trying to separate her from her dad. Then, when I ask her to tell me about her dad, she went on to tell me that her dad and her, have always had a close bond, and that she feels until this day that she has to protect her dad from her stepmom, as she has done some pretty bad stuff to her dad during and after their marriage. I then ask the dreamer to explain what her stepmom has done to her dad in the past and now that they are divorce? She discloses that when her dad was marry, her stepmom was not a very responsible caregiver because she used to leaved her dad to take care of all the children and all of the responsibilities of the house, and when her stepmom returned home there always seem to be a lot of conflicts between her and her dad as he was starting to suspect that she was probably cheating on him, but he was never sure if that was true or not. As a result, the start of gay equality was seen when same sex marriage became legal on June 26 2015. Peaceful protests were popular during 2015 to allow equality for homosexuals. However homosexuals still face opposition in America as these groups are becoming unemployed due to sexual discrimination; as well as denied basic accommodations and inadequate health care. Yet other American s feel that oppression is necessary because people feel uncomfortable and believe homosexualityis unnatural. • 9. Persuasive Essay On The Pension Crisis Pension Crisis When looking at for a governor that will contribute to a state s long term success, one must look for the candidate that is not promising quick, instant relief, as citizens will have to pay for it eventually. In the gubernatorial debate, while both candidates are unable to fully answer the pension crisis question, Kim Guadagno seems to have the best ideas for addressing the issue. Phil Murphy s take on the issue is that he desires to fully fund pension obligations as fast as possible, as this will gain the trust of New Jersey citizens back. This sounds great in theory, but it is important to look at how he is going to do this; in the debate he is unable to explain his plan. Guadagno addresses the issue by stating that in order to fix the problem, fifteen billion dollars of New Jersey s thirty four billion dollar budget will be required. This would mean budget cuts in almost all other areas of spending such as education and transportation. While Phil Murphy s plan seems great, Guadagno quickly makes it clear that it is nearly impossible to achieve. If Murphy were to achieve his goal, New Jersey citizens would pay the price, and they would continue to pay the price for a long time. Guadagno, while not clearly stating her plan, believes that it is best to address the issue with a thoughtful, affordable approach. In conclusion, Murphy s plan might benefit certain citizens for a brief period of time, but will hurt citizens in the long run, therefore, Kim Guadagno ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In my life, I ve loved them all (The Beatles, In My Life). Us humans spend our time in the world as voyagers on an endless journey. Our curiosity propels us into new, exhilarating situations that result in more mistakes, more mishaps, and more memories as a result of it. Without these mementos that are tucked away in our minds, who would we be? What would become of us? It is these moments in life, whether pleasurable or painful, that mold us into the individuals we are. In her book, Bossypants, Tina Fey speaks about her journey through the entertainment industry, and says, I know that on that first writing night, I completely froze up. I sat at my computer from one p.m. Tuesday afternoon until nine a.m. Wednesday morning and nothing came out. . . I d been improvising with five other people every night for two years (Fey, 133). Teaching Is An Integral Part Of My Personality Teaching is an integral part of my personality, it is not just a job that takes a few hours of my day, nor is it a means to earn a living, rather it is a way of life. Since the early days of my youth, I used to imagine myself as a teacher, and to discuss with myself what I have learned, directing questions and trying to extract answers. Such a way proved to be very fruitful, not only in explaining the targeted topics, but also in raising new ideas in my mind. Afterwards it became clear to me; I know that I understand something when I can explain it to others. This has become my way of dealing with any subject. When the topic is difficult, I consider myself in front of a personal challenge, and do my best to simplify it into its easiest possible level. This has become my basic contribution in teaching, to dismantle any complex topic to its simplest elements, so that students do not face any problem in dealing with it; that is in discussing, analysing, and understanding it. The conversion of complex ideas into simpler equivalents is such an arduous task that requires time and effort, but I chose this it as my method in teaching, because I believe that it is the students right to get clear ideas, not a confused set of thoughts. Apart from my personal inclinations, my teaching experience has provided me with a good opportunity to deal with students from diverse backgrounds, and to explore different teaching methods with them. According to prime.peta.org, One of the reasons that does stick out is because of cruelty which is big but not a very important one since it can be solved easily by an education. The reason for abandonment is spayment and nurturing. When an animal is spayed or neutered, it is unable to create puppies /kittens. However, this is not considered a bad thing to not have your dog/cat not have babies. When people want a lot of cute puppies, they get a couple but then they want a lot more. So they have their dog make more babies and create a large litter. Most people do not realize what they are doing, they are giving birth to more puppies than they can handle. And once they realize that their are too many they usually keep the cuter ones and abandon the other ones. Or, sometimes they give them to someone else they just buy another dog instead of adopting dogs like them who have been given up or abandoned. So far this shows that adopting a dog/cat is way more productive that buying from a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The First Type Of A Person Essay An individual can be one of three types of people when he is trying to remember someone. The first type is someone who would off the bat recognize the other person as being familiar, but just cannot recall that person s name in that exact moment. The second type would be someone who recognizes the person by name, but would not recognize him when he sees him in person. The third type is the person would be the star individual who could correctly recognize the person and confidently greet the person by name. The majority of my friends, as well as myself, often lean towards the first type of person. The feeling that the word, such as the name of a person, is within grasp, but for some reason, you are incapable of verbalizing the word is known as the tip of the tongue phenomenon. It is also frequently referred to as its abbreviated name: TOT. More often than not, we are used to hearing about your parents or someone older who you know experiencing episodes of forgetting where they placed items, such as their car keys, are. As troublesome as it may be, it is merely a symptom of growing older. As we age, our memory will start to deteriorate along with our youthful appearance, causing us to have a harder time to recall information, such as names. Information lasting more than 30 seconds in your mind gets moved from your working memory to your long term memory where it is stored for the rest of your life. Psychologists believe long term memory is unlimited whereas short term or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Counseling And Christian Perspective On Counseling Counseling and Christian Perspective Studying psychology and philosophy has made me ask many questions. By what principles do people make decisions? What drives us? Where do emotions come from? Are there such things as unconscious motives and thoughts or are those ideas nothing more than the clever and profitable figment of psychologists imagination? However, the main question I struggled with is who we are and how we operate? Counseling is seen as a very solution focused approach. The temptation to rush quickly to the end of the mystery novel must be resisted. The detective s clever conclusions cannot be fully appreciated without first understanding the complexities of the tangle he unravels. The same principle applies here: an adequate appreciation of solutions depends on an adequate understanding of people and their problems. The Christian community and secular communities are overrun with ideas about wholeness and growth. The solution of Calvary, for example, is only valued too the degree that the problem of sin is grasped. If we skip the hard and sometimes tedious work of figuring out who we are and why we struggle so much, then our efforts as counselors to help others will be shallow and, in the long run, unhelpful. The relationship between Christianity and Counseling Trust and obey, for there s no other way to be happy in Jesus. Could it really be as simple as the hymn suggests? This sort of thinking sounds very hopelessly naive and dangerously superficial. If ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In fact over the past ten or twelve years they ve probably been one of the most visible proponents of the concept. I think this approach was first viewed by the distillery as a necessary maneuver in order to get whisky on the shelves throughout the first decade of production after their 2001 reopening. Considering how fundamentally opposed I am to the idea of opaque marketing with whisky, I imagine it s somewhat surprising (even to myself, if I m to be honest) how much I adore and support Bruichladdich. Let s face it...no other distillery has done as much to reinvigorate the whisky world over the last few years as Bruichladdich. They ve pushed hard for higher bottling strengths first 46% as a standard, and now 50%. They ve foregone artificial colouring. They ve made a mockery of the concept of chill filtration. Their employment of local labour is staggering, especially viewed in contrast to the two man crews running some of Diageo s multi million litre producers. The poem is written from the poet s perspective of his father. In the first two stanzas he sees him from the perspective of a loving son and builds up a positive and respectful image of his father. The emotive word gentle suggests his fond attachment and admiration for his father who has raised him. This admiration was not apparent in his youth as Skrzynecki recognises that there were cultural barriers between them that hampered the father son relationship. This poem explores Feliks s sense not fully belonging to Australia and his son s growing detachment from their polish heritage. In many ways father and son grow to become strangers to each other, with individual attitudes towards belonging in an Australian context. As they share no common cultural background, the connection and sense of belonging to each other is not complete. When the demand of gold goes up, it will encourage people to search for more gold, and that will devalue the existing money and waste the resources. Also, when there is a shortage of the supply of gold, people will worry that their bank couldn t exchange paper money to gold. That would be a terrible effect to the economy. • 50. Coraline Symbolism A dream turned into a nightmare. This happens to Coraline, the main protagonist in the novel Coraline by Neil Gaiman. In the novel, a young girl named Coraline moves into a large house divides into apartments. She lives with her parents who both work, leaving Coraline to feel ignored. One day she accesses a portal to a mirror like house where her other parents live. At first her other parents seem like a dream, offering her whatever she wants and giving her constant attention. Coralinesoon learns that the other world is not all that it seems and that she must escape in order to save herself and her parents. Unlike most children books, Coralineis a creepy postmodern fairy tale that uses elements of the uncanny to evoke fear in the reader. Freud s concept of the uncanny is helpful in explaining the text s appeal, and it s creepy uneasiness. Coraline focuses on people s fears about existence and identity as individual beings. Coraline must battle against her other mother to be independent from her and thus develop her own identity and desires. While the novel appears to be a mild horror story, Henry Selicks stop action photography adaptation of the novel has a different tone and uses concepts of the uncanny is more subtle ways. By using added characters, deleted scenes, and less grotesque imagery Henry Selick is able a children s adventure story while Neil Gaimans novel focused on concepts of the uncanny and the fear of losing one s identity. The film begins with an evocative opening scene in which a pair of skeletal, robotic hands stich a doll identical to Coraline and then sends it floating out of a window. For most viewers the doll is viewed as a spy for the other mother. It is a portal between the two worlds that allows the other mother to cross between both.
