Prenatal Care During The United States Essay
Prenatal care in the United States was not the way is today, there have been some improvements in
regards to prenatal care. The number of pregnant women who received prenatal care has increased
over the past 75 years (Zolotor and Carlough, 2014). Today, medical providers deliver more integrated
services, which includes evidence based screening, counseling, medical care, and psychosocial
support.
In the past, in the United States the majority of women delivered at home with no anesthetics; women
might have received assistance through a family doctor, including midwife care (Thomas, 2011). A
radical change happened by the 1960s, when hospital childbirths had become the norm, the pain of the
experience was reduced by epidural anesthesia controlled by a physician. Pregnant women received
education on breastfeeding and other topics during their medical visits (Thomas, 2011).
Prenatal care policies were implemented to reduce infant mortality rates and poor birth outcomes.
Over the past several years commissioners recommended improving access to prenatal care. In 1980
congress initiated the expansion of Medicaid eligibility for pregnant women for the purpose of
improving prenatal care (Schlesinger and Kronebusch, 1990.) Some states integrated the Aid to
Families programs with Dependent Children care (AFDC) to assist women who live at the poverty
level and do not qualify for Medicaid until they become pregnant.
Even though the nation has had a great improvement in regards to

Racism In A Raisin In The Sun
How would it feel to be racially assaulted? Racism is one of the worst ways to be insulted it could hurt
you emotionally and historically. Racism is one of the worst things that has been around in history.
There is no getting rid of racism, it has been around too long to get rid of it. Although people say
racism is a very bad thing, are they the reason it s still around the globe due to the people, themselves
individually, and how they were raised.
Racism is still a problem because of the people that keep it around. People are the reason why racism
is still around. When we watched A Raisin In The Sun and Karl was trying to buy the Youngers out of
there house. This is why racism is still around because people like Karl are trying to buy out there
house. Furthermore they also did not want them in the community from there cultural appearance.
Also people like him are keeping racism around because they do not want black people in there white
community. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are the ones that continue to do that acts that make the people use racism. For example black
people are always seen as criminals, and they always feel discriminated. Well if they would like to
stop being seen as that they should stop doing those certain acts. Yes although racism is bad again we
have to look at the people themselves and the acts they continue to do. If the people themselves stop
doing those specific acts. Furthermore people see mexicans as border hoppers. Again yes mexicans
have border hoped and they are always called that. Well if they would stop doing this maybe they
would stop being called these terrible

Business Value Chain Analysis Of Diageo
Diageo s code for business value creation does involve their tangible assets, however other
organizations can easily buy them, so these are rarely the source of competitive advantage. The
greatest tangible source that is not easily obtainable by other companies is their own resource to
produce raw and unique materials to their own products. Diageo has competitors purchase materials
from their owned and operated distilleries and land to make their own product. Intangible assets are
difficult to measure and can t be touched or seen. These assets drive innovation and contribute to
Diageo s success and competitive edge in the market place. Above, examining Diageo s unique mix of
resources explores how Diageo develops certain resources necessary to support corporate strategy. As
we have reviewed, Diageo has a purpose, vision, mission and objective, and has strategically
implemented internal assets and has the capability and resources to deliver their strategy. Diageo is
interested in growing their people and business as well as improving financial returns and shareholder
value to avoid situations of competitive parity. These views emphasize asset valuation using
accounting and economic measures over effectiveness measures and lack a holistic approach to
understanding value as an internally driven strategic effort (Barney 2001; Hawawini et al 2000). The
RBV performed here on Diageo showcases how Diageo creates value and profits from their internal
resources and focuses

How Does Stalin Deserve The Great Purges
During the 1930 s, Stalin ordered large scale purges, targeting anyone who displayed even the slightest
sign of being a threat to the government. The government was able to identify these people through
family members or close friends who informed on them. With this, people no longer expressed their
true opinions and instead conformed with the government s ideas in fear of persecution ( Purges and
Praises ). About 20 million people that were suspected of performing anti Soviet activities were
executed, sent to Gulag labor camps, or forced them to take part in a show trial, where they would be
forced plead guilty publicly to inconceivable crimes that they had never committed (Gracheva). Many
officials and military leaders were also executed after being convicted of treason. It is estimated that
one thirds of the Communist Party s three million members were put to death during the Great Purge.
However, the traces of the people that were murdered were eliminated after the government rewrote
history books and doctored photographs to exclude them. Additionally, members of the NKVD, the
Soviet secret police, were killed at the end of the Great Purges, so that the people that had known too
much about this event would be eliminated.
In order for the Soviet government to unify its citizens, it had to overcome the vast cultural differences

As an autocratic ruler, Stalin aimed to consolidate power and eliminate opposition. Stalin and the state
seized total control of the media: dictating what people say, read, and heard. Those who attempted to
do otherwise were imprisoned or sent to labor camps( Joseph Stalin ). Under the rule of Stalin, there
was no religious freedom. Churches were shut down and church leaders were arrested or executed.
The reasoning behind this was that anyone who worshipped God was a challenge to those who
worshipped Stalin through his personality cult

The United States And The Vietnam War
A Day to Remember
It seems as if the united states are always fighting a battle whether it is overseas or within its own
borders. The citizens were not ready for what the 1970 s was going to bring, socially, economically,
and religiously. Jim Jones was going to bring peace and relief to these people in the most tragic way
possible. With brain washing, manipulation, and isolation Jones convinced hundreds of people to
commit suicide. The Peoples Temple religious movement was one of the many going on during the
1970 s. During the 1970 s America hit rock bottom. The U.S. had lost the Vietnam war, there was an
oil crisis, and the automobile industry was going out of business due to the foreign cars. The Vietnam
war gave rise to many anti war protests and questioning of the nation s role in the world. Many
believed in pacifism and opposed of the U.S. involvement in the war. The oil embargo that members
of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries proclaimed in 1973 led to oil shortages.
Gas had to be rationed and prices increased drastically. Japan and Germany were making better cars
which caused U.S. automobile industries to go out of business, many Americans lost their jobs.
The American population grew skeptical; they could not turn to the government during this time. The
Watergate scandal in the 1970s destroyed Americans trust with the government. They didn t feel safe
with their political leaders and did not feel taken care of. As always, when there is a

Alcohol and Spiritual Deadlock--John Berryman Essay
Alcohol and Spiritual Deadlock In his introduction to John Berryman s unfinished work Recovery,
about his efforts to recover from alcoholism, Saul Bellows asserts that the act of writing poetry killed
Berryman, and alcohol helped fuel the writing process: Inspiration contained a death threat. He would,
as he wrote the things he waited and prayed for, fall apart, (Recovery xii). During his career as a poet,
he was diseased with alcoholism and suffered from extreme lapses of anxiety. Berryman wrote a
majority of the Dream Songs, his largest and best known collection of 385 poems, while suffering,
sometimes excruciatingly, from alcoholism. Throughout the Dream Songs, the narrators, Henry, Mr.
Bones, and sometimes an anonymous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Dream Songs, as will be discussed, reveal a dark past, a tortured identity, and alcoholic tendencies
that suppress the poet both spiritually and emotionally. Berryman initiates the Dream Songs with a
tone that well befits an alcoholic or one who is inclined towards self destructive behavior. His narrator,
the anonymous speaker, portrays Henry as pouting and resentful is nonetheless aware that he could
reach a compromise: Huffy Henry hid the day Unappeasable Henry sulked. I see his point, a trying to
put things over. It was the thought that they thought They could do it made Henry wicked away. But
he should have come out and talked. (#1) Henry is immersed in self pity and incapable of being
appeased, content to dwell in his malaise. The structure of the lines and stanzas also heighten the
effect of the sulking. The effect created by the meter in first two lines is analogous to experiencing the
whine of a demanding child (e.g. You can t make me! or I don t wanna! ). The brevity and simplicity
of his convictions also suggest that he is firmly rooted in his sulky disposition and will not easily be
swayed otherwise. However, the speaker sympathizes with Henry and understands his resentment, but
also recognizes that talking about and resolving the matter would be the best, most mature course, but
there is no resolution. Author Lewis Hyde states, in regard to the childish tone:

The Great Man Theory

historian of nineteenth century. The idea of the theory is leader and leadership. The basic idea of the
theory is that leaders are born and not made.
Thomas Carlyle, a historian in nineteenth century presented his ideas on leadership, named The Great
Man Theory. Carlyle focused on the influence great men had on historical events. Like great people
such as Mohammad, Shakespeare, and Napoleon among others (Goleman).
The basic theme of The Great Man Theory is that Leaders are born and not made (Bass). Research

strongly asserts that leaders are born having such mystical abilities and are different from their
followers.
Personal Factors: Cognitive pluralist, radical and unitary ideologies, orientation of social domination:
Motivational authoritarianism: Moral egalitarianism and moral development along with moral scope
(Goleman, 48).
Situational Factors: Deep structures norms, roles, history, distribution of wealth and hierarchy: Goal
Interdependence; and Culture (Goleman, 48).
From mid nineteenth century to the decade of 1940, the research on leadership was dominated by
efforts to show that there are characteristics or qualities that leaders have that set them from followers.
The research shows that leadership abilities are that of an effective and successful leader. Studies have
focused on the measurement of leadership traits and the relationship that is between criteria and traits

Consumerism Speech
How many times would you say you thought, I need that bag, or those shoes because everyone else
has them? How many people do you speak to that know who you are as a person and not just the
things you like or the types of food you don t eat. Is it possible that you could, unwillingly and
unintentionally be superficial? Good morning everyone and welcome to the mindset of modern
society, materialistic and consumer driven. Today, the desirable consumerist lifestyle outweighs the
instinct of compassion, which only proves my point that the inherent values of consumerism force you
all; yes you, to be insensitive. The Australian poet Bruce Dawe wrote The Not So Good Earth during
the Vietnam War, about these values influencing the response ... Show more content on

Twice? Three times? Does it end? The colloquialisms in the poem only further denote the inextricable
link of consumerism to relationships. When it is linked this closely to people, the very nature of their
interaction is shaped into a shallow never ending cycle of meaningless expression. The falseness of
communication today is directly linked to the consumerist lifestyle and has been increasing since the
late 1880 s. Clancy of the Overflow not only depicts the city as a giant symbol of materialism, but also
portrays the townsfolk as having eager eyes and greedy stating that they have no time to grow, they
have no time to waste . This statement is indicative of the busyness of people s lives and negligence of
other humans. Similarly, when Paterson wrote As they shoulder one another in their rush and nervous
haste he shows the carelessness of people affected by consumerism in this era, which has only
increased from the time of Paterson to the time of Dawe, and furthermore to present day. What can we
do to change? What can we do to stop this perpetual chain of meaningless things, people and
interactions? It begins with the consumer mindset; this is what influences our identity, and our
communications. When consumerism becomes something we understand and acknowledge we can
then bring about change in relationships and eventually

Self Realization in the Novel Beloved Essay
Self Realization in the Novel Beloved
Toni Morison s Pulitzer Prize winning novel Beloved centers on the powers of memory and the
history behind those memories. The characters of the novel are former slaves for whom the past is a
shackle that tethers them to their own personal slavery in their free lives. Each character seeks to find
what remains of their true self once the veil of slavery is peeled away. The novel shows how the
internalization of oppression can distort human relationships and subvert the self. The time frame of
the novel is a juxtaposition of past and present, which reinforces the idea that the past is indeed alive
and thriving inside of each character and must be reconciled before they can look towards a ... Show

Through or because of the character Beloved, most of the characters evolve and confront the demons
of the past that victimize them and stifle the growth of their selves.
The first character to gain her freedom in the novel was Baby Suggs. By working extra jobs, her son
Halle manages to buy her from their owner Mr. Gardner. At first Baby Suggs does not understand why
Halle would want to buy her freedom. She didn t understand what a sixty year old woman needed
freedom for. Once Baby Suggs set foot on free land however, she realized what freedom meant. She
realized that her hands belonged to her; she discovered her own heartbeat. Baby Suggs had found her
self when she became free. She had never known any identity before her freedom. She summed up her
lack of self identity when she said:
Sweet Home was a marked improvement. No question. And no matter, for the sadness was at her
center, where the self that was no self made its home
She goes on to question:
Could she sing? (Was it nice to hear when she did?) Was she pretty? Was she a good friend? Could she
have been a loving mother? A faithful wife? Have I got a sister and does she favor me? If my mother
knew me would she like me?
Before freedom she has no idea that she has a self identity; she knows nothing about herself. Because
of slavery, she has not been given the opportunity to be a friend, wife or mother; she doesn t even

Opioid Drug Problem
More than 30,000 people are dying every year from Opioid drug addiction. (Katel833). That means
they are leaving behind 30,000 families grieving and at least another 30,000 people they may have
introduced to the addiction of the drugs each year. Opioids drug are a very serious matter that goes
around daily without being noticed. Although some precautions have not been a total fail, recent
epidemic shows the problems with the Opioid drug addiction is bigger than what we can handle and
cannot simply curb the epidemic. There have been precautions made in the past to decrease the rise of
Opioids and other harmful drugs, but nothing has made a big enough impact for it to matter. Congress
has created a Special drug law enforcement agency in the year 1930 to help enforce the drug laws, and
decrease the amount of drugs being imported into the U.S. This Agency was called The Federal
Bureau of Narcotics . (Katel 826) Opioids still find a way to take precious lives, as well as illegal
drugs themselves. Nothing has been done to actually put a stop to this crisis, and until the Government

the first federal law to regulate Opioids and other drugs. (Katel826) With the many actions taken to try

The Education And Teaching Field
In the education and teaching field there are countless amounts of issues that occur on an everyday
bases, whether the issues are big or small. For instance, some of the minor issues would be the lack of
parent support, technology, and poor attendance rates. On the other hand some bigger issues would be
the low teaching salaries, lack of funding for schools, and the overall problem of dealing with the
common core standards. Common core was established in 2010 to set a certain learning foundation in
each state. Specifically, the foundation is to keep every kid in America on a target goal and to be
working at the same pace when the standards came to the end of year testing. Many scholarly sources
have recognized the issue and has brought the subject into numerous articles. In the following review
the sources will discuss the relationship on how the CCSS affects the educational system in the
teaching field. Literature Review In Jamie Main s (2012) article the text goes into a discussion about
the issues and concerns of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) on a global level. The concerns
leads into a more specific issue of the investment being overlooked for the standards, because most of
the investments are not effective for the development of the program. Throughout the article, Main s
(2012) foremost perspective was trying to emphasize the comprehension that the CCSS can be
effective if there is structure. In the article Main (2012) states, the... practices emphasize

Introduction:
In this experiment, the purpose was to measure the acceleration due to gravity (g) by dropping a
plastic ball from several heights and recording the time intervals it took to pass through two photogate
sensors and the time it took for the ball to hit an impact sensor at the bottom. The photogate sensors
are the constant distance d apart, and the impact sensor is distance D away from the lower sensor.
Since the acceleration due to gravity is a constant, the difference in heights from which the ball was
dropped should not affect the value of g. With the data from the sensors, the position of the ball over
time and velocity could be calculated, allowing me to calculate the acceleration.
Equation 1 Derivation: d = distance between photogates
D = distance from lower photogate to impact sensor
T1 = time it takes ball to go between photogates
T2 = time it takes ball to go from lower photogate to impact sensor
In general, 〖velocity〗_avg (v)=(∆distance (d))/(∆time (t))
Between two photogates, v_(avg,d)= d/T_1
Between photogate and impact sensor, v_(avg,D)= D/T_2
Naturally, v_(avg,D) v_(avg,d)=D/T_2 d/T_1
In general, 〖acceleration〗_(avg ) (a)= ∆v/∆t, so a_(avg )= (v_(avg,D) v_(avg,d))/〖∆t〗_avg
〖∆t〗_total=T_1+T_2
〖∆t〗_avg=(T_1+T_2)/2

Marketing Strategy Of Vodafone
Telecommunications: Company Vodafone
Vodafone is a British multinational telecommunications company which operates its own networks in
26 countries and has partner networks in over 50 countries. Such a wide range of markets makes
Vodafone apply different marketing strategies to satisfy customers needs and make profits from it.
This chapter of the essay will focus on EU s and Indian marketing strategies of Vodafone to prove the
importance of having different marketing strategies in different markets.
The market in the EU is relatively mature compared with the Indian market. In a mature market of
telecommunications the number of consumers of a mobile network is relatively steady. On Financial
Times website, in Daniel Thomas s (2014) article Vodafone continues its evolution and widens
European foothold , he describes the marketing strategy of Vodafone in EU specifically. Now the main
strategy in EU is about expending Vodafone s business to other fields including the broadband and TV
markets. In order to realize the business expending Vodafone began to purchase other companies like
Ono of Spain, Cable Wireless Worldwide in the UK and Kabel Deutschland in Germany which
provide such service to customers. Also Building Vodafone s own network in Italy, Spain and Portugal
is another strategy used for business expending. Daniel Thomas (2014) mentioned Mr. Colao CEO of
Vodafone describes the strategy of Vodafone in EU s market as the next chapter . Mr. Colao also
pointed that

How to Get Away with Murder has a multitude of elements that come into play throughout the series.
The series follows a group of law students being mentored by Annalise Keating, a prominent defense
attorney. The group deal with multiple deaths, usually caused by them, by using anything ranging
from their knowledge of the law to hired hitmen to get their way. The repeated theme in the series
exposes the harsh reality of how the local government and the people within are corrupt. A
conscienceless society is a major concept that shapes each character s narcissistic frame of mind
where they will do anything to achieve their own personal goals. Even with all the murders and deceit,

become desensitized by being unsympathetic toward the shooting they were involved in. They even go
as far as plotting to kill the victim after finding out he is still alive. The students only show concern for
themselves and the people within their group. Oliver Hampton is the only character to openly express

Marjane Satrapi s Persepolis
The zeitgeist of 20th century Iran was nationalism. From the establishment of a constitutional
monarchy to the ongoing struggle against foreign invaders, it has been a tool utilized by ideologues to
further their own agendas. In Persepolis, a young Marjane Satrapi asserts the metaphorical truism, The
revolution is like a bicycle. When the wheels don t turn, it falls. Each revolutionary was able to gain
momentum by pedaling away from imperialist exploitation and domineering but then sought to pedal
the wheels towards the direction where their respective interests lie, and in turn immobilized the
bicycle, causing it to fall. Just as nationalism can be used to overthrow a dictator, it can also be used to
empower one.

The Anglo Persian Agreement followed in 1919, whereby the British gained control of the country s
treasury, army, and communications network, enforcing their power by declaring martial law. [add
something about the state of the country and how it fueled/surged nationalist resistance] As Marjane s
father tells her, it was Reza Khan who, with the assistance of the British, overthrew the corrupt Qajar
dynasty and was appointed shah (king). Propelled by the gust of nationalism that had emerged in
response to foreign takeover and domestic tumult, Reza worked to curtail outside influence, reform
and modernize the country. Nevertheless, he ruled with an iron fist that ultimately led to his downfall,
coming to be severely detested by the populace, succumbing to fascist sympathies during WII, and
being forced to abdicate in 1941. Though his son Mohammad Reza Pahlavi (Shah) inherited the
throne, Reza s real successor was Mohammad Mossadegh, a statesman of tremendous passion who
would come to represent Third World nationalism and go down as one of the most popular figures in
Iranian history. Two central beliefs shaped Mossadegh s political consciousness. The first was a
passionate faith in the rule of law, which made him an enemy of autocracy and, in particular, Reza
Shah. The second was a conviction that Iranians must rule themselves and not submit to the will of
foreigners. (Kinzer 53) It was in 1949 that Mossadegh, a vocal member of the majlis, formed and
became leader of the National Front, an umbrella organization dedicated to fortifying democracy and
limiting foreign influence. In a span of two years, the National Front became the governing coalition

John Wooden On Leadership And The Wooden s Pyramid Of Success
Introduction:
Leadership is an action of leading a group of people or an organization. For the purpose of the report, I
will be looking at John Wooden on leadership and the Wooden s Pyramid of Success. I will be
reflecting on how the Wooden s philosophy of what leadership should be relates to today s business
environment. I will be discussing the pyramid of success, looking at various building blocks and see
how that holds together and how it can help anyone to achieve whatever they want to achieve in life.
I will also be analyzing how the coaching philosophy of John Wooden and the Pyramid of Success can
be use in today s projects. John Wooden said, Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self
satisfaction in knowing you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I remember when I joined in the 90s the team was very welcoming and I could see the enthusiastic
about what they do, very cooperative and the team spirit was very high. The other thing that I saw was
how loyal the employees were in everything they did, they are always will go that extra mile for the
company.
I. Firstly, the company invested so much money on the people to improve the employees skills and
there were lots of specialized management training courses for team leaders and managers to lead
effectively. John Wooden said in his book Wooden on leadership Mastery of the skills you need in
your job requires learning and it is why leaders and those who are high achievers are lifelong learners.
I had this motto tacked on my office wall for many years: It s what you learn after you know it all that
counts. (Wooden, 2005)
II. Secondly, Loyalty was a big thing for Nokia to grow and became a leader. The company took very
good care of the employees, the benefit was so good that must people would like to work for Nokia.
They were one of the first companies to introduce profit sharing with the employees in Europe. We all
so believed in Jorma Ollila the then Nokia CEO that loyalty was a common thing amongst the
employees. Wooden mentioned is his book that a leader who has Loyalty is the leader whose team I
wish to be a part (Wooden, 2005).
III. Thirdly, we had great leaders and a CEO who was so confident with competitive greatness. You

Theme Of Alcoholism In The Picture Of The Dorian Gray
Sherwin B. Nuland proclaims that There is a nice Victorian reticence in denying the probability of a
miserable prelude to mortality . Wilde s character in The Picture of the Dorian Gray , Lord Henry, the
source of evil influence for the focaliser, clearly conveys this in his aristocratic indulgence, lack of
emotion, and seemingly dismissive attitude to death. Henry is able to twist Dorian s soul into a
malicious replication of his own arguably causing his fate at the end. It s clear this exploration of
human vulnerability is still prevalent today as The Goldfinch reflects in Boris, yet in a proletariat way,
where his morals have been shaped by a slavic, working class society but yielded similar results. Tartt

Vodka is a motif of Theo s growing indulgence throughout the novel. Firstly, Tartt reflects Theo as
having started to say yes, to impress him but rejects the vodka, reflecting his naïvety and good faith at
the start of the novel. However, later on, it is revealed he takes a post dinner shot of vodka, a habit I
soon picked up from him (Boris) conveying how his childhood sweetness has been eradicated by
Boris slavic lifestyle. The sharp juxtaposition between the anxious to casual nature shows a change in
Theo s morals, normalising excessive amounts of alcohol. There is a similar motif in The Picture of
Dorian Gray where Wilde conveys Dorian as having taken too much champagne which is Wilde
mocking the Victorian s aristocratic world of indulgence, deliberately portraying him as arrogant. Tartt
s image of vodka and Wilde s champagne clearly reflects the class different between the two
protagonists. While Wilde s novel is set in a bourgeoise class in society, Tartt s character belongs to
the proletariat class, to give it a Marxist

Employees In A Works Council
Works councils are expensive and put responsibility on the employer to keep up with the costs that are
associated with the works council. (Befort, 2004). Employees who are members of a works council
are still paid their normal wages, even if they are partaking in works council meetings. Members of
works councils are required to partake in additional training and apprenticeships which the employer
is responsible for these costs (Hubler, 2015). It was found that companies that have a works council
have incurred more net costs associated with training than companies without a works council
(Hubler, 2015). Works councils may cause too much employee power in larger union industries like
auto industry and fast food and cause demands for large

The Waco Siege Ended 22
The Waco siege ended 22 years ago in a colossal fire that ended up killed 76 people including two
pregnant women and over 20 children. The siege began on February 28, 1993, when the US Bureau of
Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) attempted to execute a search warrant at Mount Carmel Center
ranch, a property held by religious group Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas (leppard, 2013). The
government suspected a radical religious leader David Koresh of stock piling firearms and
manufacturing drugs. The raid rose into an intense gun fight that last lasted two hours with the result
four agents and six Davidians killed in action. The FBI then launched a long term assault while
attempting to negotiate with Koresh and force him to surrender the ranch. The siege ended on April
19, 50 days after the primary raid, when the FBI sprung a final assault against Koresh. Three fires
broke out in the building, killing 76 men, women, and children, including sect leader Koresh. A total
of 82 people died as a result of the Waco siege (Leppard, 2013).
In the spring of 1993, the Branch Davidian Christian gained global infamy from this siege on its
compound that laid a few miles just outside of Waco. On Sunday, February 28, a violent two hour gun
battle took place leaving six Davidians and four ATF agents dead. A 51 day standoff ensued. Amid the
siege, the Branch Davidians charismatic leader, Vernon Howell, a 33 year old musician who believed
himself to be the final prophet in Christian end times

How Did Oprah Winfrey Changed The World
January 29th, 1954, in Kosciusko Mississippi, Oprah Winfrey was born. Her father was a
coal miner and her mother a housemaid. Not having the easiest childhood, Oprah ran away from
home the age of 14. To avoid attending an juvenile detention center, she moved back to
Tennessee with her father . She attended East Nashville High and graduated as an honors
student. Later she went to Tennessee State University, graduating with a Degree in Speech and
Performing Arts. In school Oprah became the youngest and first African American female news

Independently and Collectively that
have changed the lives of many. Founded in 1988, Oprah s Angel Network was created to get
others to make a difference in the world. My personal favorite foundation is Oprah Winfrey s
Leadership Academy for Girls, founded January 1st 2007, is based in South Africa. It offers an
education for girls in the area. The program also gives the girls a chance to learn leadership skills
and be able to change the world/make a difference in their own ways. Through these foundations
Oprah has definitely changed the world.
Oprah has changed the world in many ways, from the 3 foundations that she owns to
being the being the first African American women to be included on Forbes billionaire list. She
is remembered fun memorable, like giving an entire studio audience cars. Twice!! But most
people can forget about the small facts. For example, she sang her own theme song for her show
for a couple of years. Another fun fact is that Oprah has 5 dogs. She has done a lot of life
changing things in her life but like Oprah herself has said Where there is no struggle, there is no

Tourism Planning
Introduction
Robinson and Novelli (2005) note niche tourism has become a growing trend occurring in current
years in contrast to what is frequently related to as mass tourism . Cusack and Dixon (2006) add niche
tourism is known to present diversity and provide opportunities with a form of tourism that aims
towards sustainability alongside considering expenditure from tourists. Furthermore, it suggests a
more practical set of strategies that distinguishes tourists. Gartner (1996) demonstrates how niche
tourism consists of distinct interests, culture and/or activity built tourism including small proportion of
tourist in authentic surroundings. Moreover, niche tourism can fall into more specific categories where

It is important to note Ecotourism accounts for 6% of the worldwide GDP with an astounding growing
rate of 5% per annum (Nora, 2012).
Page and Dowling (2002) cite the relevance of understanding the different components between hard
and soft ecotourism. For example hard ecotourism is the desirable type which emphasises a long term
attitude towards nature. Additionally, trips tend to be specialised i.e. undertaken for ecotourism
purposes only, with participants likely to be environmentalists who are dedicated to the principles of
sustainability (Sharpley and Telfer 2002). In contrast soft ecotourism is the consideration of the short
term and favourable with many participants who are tourists with less appreciation for the
environment. Moreover, soft ecotourism occurs in a less natural setting such as wildlife parks,
however is usually accompanied by a high level of service and facility provision (Weaver and Lawton,
2002).
Orams (1995) highlights the purpose for ecotourism becoming an important aspect in recent years. He
suggests the term can be outlined back to the 1980 s, with invention being the outcome of increased
acknowledgment of and response to negative effects as a consequence of mass tourism in natural
spaces. Middleton and Hawkins

Asylum Seekers In Australia
Where to Next?
The Papua New Guinea s Supreme Court ruling that Australia s detention of asylum seekers on Manus
Island is illegal and that the centre must close has once again raised in Australian society the very
divisive issue of asylum seekers and their treatment. Commentaries following the Supreme Court
decision have portrayed Australia s approach to asylum seekers as inhumane and uncaring. With
continual political, humanitarian and media attention, the histrionics surrounding the issue are rife and
many of the crucial facts as to Australia s response to asylum seekers and the purpose for our offshore
processing centres long forgotten. It s time to restore a factual basis and balance to the discussion. Can

The establishment by the Australian Government of offshore processing of asylum seekers on Manus
Island in Papua New Guinea and similarly in Nauru was a direct action to prevent this. By making it
clear internationally that anyone arriving without a visa in Australia by boat would have no chance of
being settled in Australia it removed the financial incentive for people smugglers. It ensured that
people smugglers had no product to sell. It was aimed at preventing people embarking on a trip across
dangerous seas with the high risk of death. The success of this approach cannot be denied. In 2007
2008, while the Howard Government s Pacific Solution was in place, only 25 asylum seekers travelled
by boat to Australia. In 2010, when the policy changed and asylum seekers were transferred to
Australia, 5000 people travelled by boat to Australia to seek asylum a 19900%

Blue Ridge Manufacturing Case Summary
The firm was considering devoting a greater share of the production resources to the sports line. What
do your results in part two imply about the product line s continued success, and whether the firm
should devote more resources to that line? You should consider and answer the following questions:
Should the sports line be dropped?
Blue Ridge Manufacturing should drop the sports line because it s operating at net loss of $247,127.
The sports line should consider increasing price while maintaining current market shares in order to
continue operations. Also, indirect cost is high for sports line compared to designer and children s line
hence firm should consider cost reduction items as outlined below.
Can you determine why market share (sales) for the sports line was increasing?
I can t determine why the sales for sports line was increasing. In order to determine the reason I would
like to review previous year income statement for comparison. Also, it would be helpful to have
activities based cost information from previous year for comparison.

the firm should consider are Designer s Pay, number of unique items, and number of material moves.
What are the benefits of an ABC allocation of indirect costs that a single, volume based allocation
cannot provide?
Activity based costing is more accurate because it takes important factors into account before
assigning a cost to a product. It s also more thorough and considers nonmanufacturing expenses as
well, such as administrative and managerial costs. The ABC method is accurate, however it s

The Tell Tale Heart and A Confession Found In A Prison In...
Compare and Contrast The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe and A
Confession Found In A Prison In The Time Of Charles II by Charles
Dickens
====================================================================
We have looked at two different short stories by two different authors. The first story is called The Tell
Tale Heart by Edgar
Allan Poe and the second is called A Confession found in a prison in the time of Charles II by Charles
Dickens. I have found out that that they both have a murder theme in common. There are also other
similar themes between the two poems such as early confessions.
The plot in The Tell Tale Heart is about a mad man that has the motive to kill an old man because of
the look of his eye. We ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The boy could also be a problem in the future. We know quite quickly that all is not well for both
narrators because they both hint of the outcome, and confess early. In A confession found in a prison
in the time of Charles II the narrator says I will set down the naked truth without disguise showing that
he will reveal the whole story. He also says My name is written in the black book of death, which
shows that he is line for execution for something that he has done wrong. The same sort of theme
applies for The Tell Tale
Heart when the narrator quotes How calmly I can tell you the whole story. This shows that something
is going to be confessed in the near future. Both authors use short sentences at the beginnings of their
stories.
They use this writing technique to build tension. This is shown better in the The Tell Tale Heart, line
15 where he starts of the paragraph with three sentences in the first line. Now this is the point. You
fancy me mad. Madmen know nothing.
In The Tell Tale Heart, the only relationship is between the old man and the narrator. They seemed to
be good friends at the beginning of the story, as the narrator claims to Love the old man. He had never
wronged me shows that the old man had never done anything to offend the narrator or to turn the
narrator against him. This shows that the
relationship

Three Main Ideas Associated With Romanticism
1. The revolutions connect the Enlightenment to the Romantics. The Enlightenment s ideas revolved
around social order, reason, and knowing your place in society. The Romantics views were polar
opposite from these ideas. Their main ideas were personal fulfillment, emotion over reason, and
having a follow your heart attitude. These opposing viewpoints and the rise of the middle class
disrupted the social order and eventually led to revolutions across the world, but especially in Europe.
2. The three main ideas associated with Romanticism are emotion over reason, personal fulfillment,
and follow your heart. These ideas were often associated with living simply on a farm and being with
nature. Often they reflected more of a middle class lifestyle. Two authors I read about that used this
style of writing are Goethe and Monzaemon.
3. The three main ideas associated with Realism are survival of the fittest, do what it takes, and
pragmatism. These ideas were often associated with poverty and living in the slums of a city. Two
authors I read about that used this style of writing are Tolstoy and Baudelaire.
4. I personally think that lyric is the best fit for Romanticism. Romanticism is all about emotion and
nature and poetry is a perfect way to express ones feelings about anything without having to make a
point or story.
5. I personally think that narrative is the best fit for Realism, because in a narrative you tell a story and
stuff happens. A narrative is more like real life than

Woman On The Run
Directed by Norman Foster, Woman on the Run, is a noir thriller packed with hard boiled dialogue,
humor and unexpected plot twists. Woman on the Run tells the story of Frank Johnson; a starving
artist who witnesses a gangland killing while walking his dog late at night. Arriving on the murder
scene, Detective Martin Ferris identifies Frank as the last living witness in an ongoing investigation.
Frank senses that he is in great danger and flees from the scene, leaving his dog, Rembrandt, behind.
Detective Ferris interrogates Frank s wife, Eleanor Johnson, in hopes of finding him. Much to Ferris
dismay, Eleanor shows the same indisposition to help the police as her husband.

During her search, however, Eleanor discovers much more than her husband s whereabouts. The
deeper meanings of this film are set up by the film s title and plot sequence. The title of this film,
Woman on the Run is misleading. Eleanor is not on the run, her husband Frank is. Norman Foster used
a misleading title to indicate a duality in meaning. Although Eleanor is not running from the police,
she is running around the city trying to protect her husband from impending danger. Beyond that, she
is searching for the love she once shared with her husband. At the beginning of this film, Eleanor is
snarky and resentful towards her husband. She doesn t like the lifestyle of a starving artist; having to
barter for goods and constantly drifting from place to place. Eleanor longs for stability, something her
husband has yet to provide her. Throughout the film, Eleanor rediscovers her love for her husband.
Frank sends a letter, encrypted with information only Eleanor knows. Eleanor is then forced to re live
the happiest moments of their marriage in order to find her husband. Along the way, she discovers he
has a serious heart condition which saddens and frustrates her; but in end, makes her love for Frank
stronger. Eleanor also discovers that her husband hasn t given up on their marriage. When she speaks

Example Of Syntactical Ambiguity
4. CLARITY. In order for our writing to be clear there are some common discursive elements that the
user must avoid. Some of those elements have relevance in writing but they would only confuse the
reader in smaller work. As the Style Guide for The Economist states: Clarity of writing usually
follows clarity of thought . Clarity conveys readers comprehending our message effortlessly; writing
properly involves successful communication.
Examples:
*The horse raced past the barn fell.
✓The horse which was raced past the barn fell. (Pinker, 2014) *As linguist Geoffrey Pullum has

4.3.2 SYNTACTICAL The syntactical ambiguity is when words can be interconnected into more than
one tree. It must be avoid as much as possible. Example: The French teacher speaks very fast
We find two interpretations:
1. The teacher that teaches French
2. The teacher from France
Best choice: The teacher that teach French speaks very fast  Does the text contain any ambiguity? If
it does, substitute it with another word or phrase.
4.4 HEDGING The heading is usually used by the writer, in order to distance their opinion from the
text and avoid responsibility for mistake. Words such as: almost, apparently, comparatively, fairly, in
part, nearly, partially, predominantly, presumably, rather, relatively, seemingly, so to speak, somewhat,
sort of, to a certain degree, to some extent, and the ubiquitous I would argue (Pinker, 2014) are

  • 2. Prenatal Care During The United States Essay Prenatal care in the United States was not the way is today, there have been some improvements in regards to prenatal care. The number of pregnant women who received prenatal care has increased over the past 75 years (Zolotor and Carlough, 2014). Today, medical providers deliver more integrated services, which includes evidence based screening, counseling, medical care, and psychosocial support. In the past, in the United States the majority of women delivered at home with no anesthetics; women might have received assistance through a family doctor, including midwife care (Thomas, 2011). A radical change happened by the 1960s, when hospital childbirths had become the norm, the pain of the experience was reduced by epidural anesthesia controlled by a physician. Pregnant women received education on breastfeeding and other topics during their medical visits (Thomas, 2011). Prenatal care policies were implemented to reduce infant mortality rates and poor birth outcomes. Over the past several years commissioners recommended improving access to prenatal care. In 1980 congress initiated the expansion of Medicaid eligibility for pregnant women for the purpose of improving prenatal care (Schlesinger and Kronebusch, 1990.) Some states integrated the Aid to Families programs with Dependent Children care (AFDC) to assist women who live at the poverty level and do not qualify for Medicaid until they become pregnant. • 3. Racism In A Raisin In The Sun How would it feel to be racially assaulted? Racism is one of the worst ways to be insulted it could hurt you emotionally and historically. Racism is one of the worst things that has been around in history. There is no getting rid of racism, it has been around too long to get rid of it. Although people say racism is a very bad thing, are they the reason it s still around the globe due to the people, themselves individually, and how they were raised. Racism is still a problem because of the people that keep it around. People are the reason why racism is still around. When we watched A Raisin In The Sun and Karl was trying to buy the Youngers out of there house. This is why racism is still around because people like Karl are trying to buy out there house. Furthermore they also did not want them in the community from there cultural appearance. Also people like him are keeping racism around because they do not want black people in there white community. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Business Value Chain Analysis Of Diageo Diageo s code for business value creation does involve their tangible assets, however other organizations can easily buy them, so these are rarely the source of competitive advantage. The greatest tangible source that is not easily obtainable by other companies is their own resource to produce raw and unique materials to their own products. Diageo has competitors purchase materials from their owned and operated distilleries and land to make their own product. Intangible assets are difficult to measure and can t be touched or seen. These assets drive innovation and contribute to Diageo s success and competitive edge in the market place. Above, examining Diageo s unique mix of resources explores how Diageo develops certain resources necessary to support corporate strategy. As we have reviewed, Diageo has a purpose, vision, mission and objective, and has strategically implemented internal assets and has the capability and resources to deliver their strategy. Diageo is interested in growing their people and business as well as improving financial returns and shareholder value to avoid situations of competitive parity. These views emphasize asset valuation using accounting and economic measures over effectiveness measures and lack a holistic approach to understanding value as an internally driven strategic effort (Barney 2001; Hawawini et al 2000). The RBV performed here on Diageo showcases how Diageo creates value and profits from their internal resources and focuses ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. How Does Stalin Deserve The Great Purges During the 1930 s, Stalin ordered large scale purges, targeting anyone who displayed even the slightest sign of being a threat to the government. The government was able to identify these people through family members or close friends who informed on them. With this, people no longer expressed their true opinions and instead conformed with the government s ideas in fear of persecution ( Purges and Praises ). About 20 million people that were suspected of performing anti Soviet activities were executed, sent to Gulag labor camps, or forced them to take part in a show trial, where they would be forced plead guilty publicly to inconceivable crimes that they had never committed (Gracheva). Many officials and military leaders were also executed after being convicted of treason. It is estimated that one thirds of the Communist Party s three million members were put to death during the Great Purge. However, the traces of the people that were murdered were eliminated after the government rewrote history books and doctored photographs to exclude them. Additionally, members of the NKVD, the Soviet secret police, were killed at the end of the Great Purges, so that the people that had known too much about this event would be eliminated. In order for the Soviet government to unify its citizens, it had to overcome the vast cultural differences that were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As an autocratic ruler, Stalin aimed to consolidate power and eliminate opposition. Stalin and the state seized total control of the media: dictating what people say, read, and heard. Churches were shut down and church leaders were arrested or executed. • 8. The United States And The Vietnam War A Day to Remember It seems as if the united states are always fighting a battle whether it is overseas or within its own borders. The citizens were not ready for what the 1970 s was going to bring, socially, economically, and religiously. Jim Jones was going to bring peace and relief to these people in the most tragic way possible. With brain washing, manipulation, and isolation Jones convinced hundreds of people to commit suicide. The Peoples Temple religious movement was one of the many going on during the 1970 s. During the 1970 s America hit rock bottom. The U.S. had lost the Vietnam war, there was an oil crisis, and the automobile industry was going out of business due to the foreign cars. The Vietnam war gave rise to many anti war protests and questioning of the nation s role in the world. Many believed in pacifism and opposed of the U.S. involvement in the war. The oil embargo that members of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries proclaimed in 1973 led to oil shortages. Gas had to be rationed and prices increased drastically. Japan and Germany were making better cars which caused U.S. automobile industries to go out of business, many Americans lost their jobs. The American population grew skeptical; they could not turn to the government during this time. The Watergate scandal in the 1970s destroyed Americans trust with the government. • 9. Alcohol and Spiritual Deadlock--John Berryman Essay Alcohol and Spiritual Deadlock In his introduction to John Berryman s unfinished work Recovery, about his efforts to recover from alcoholism, Saul Bellows asserts that the act of writing poetry killed Berryman, and alcohol helped fuel the writing process: Inspiration contained a death threat. He would, as he wrote the things he waited and prayed for, fall apart, (Recovery xii). During his career as a poet, he was diseased with alcoholism and suffered from extreme lapses of anxiety. Berryman wrote a majority of the Dream Songs, his largest and best known collection of 385 poems, while suffering, sometimes excruciatingly, from alcoholism. Throughout the Dream Songs, the narrators, Henry, Mr. Bones, and sometimes an anonymous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Dream Songs, as will be discussed, reveal a dark past, a tortured identity, and alcoholic tendencies that suppress the poet both spiritually and emotionally. Berryman initiates the Dream Songs with a tone that well befits an alcoholic or one who is inclined towards self destructive behavior. His narrator, the anonymous speaker, portrays Henry as pouting and resentful is nonetheless aware that he could reach a compromise: Huffy Henry hid the day Unappeasable Henry sulked. I see his point, a trying to put things over. It was the thought that they thought They could do it made Henry wicked away. But he should have come out and talked. (#1) Henry is immersed in self pity and incapable of being appeased, content to dwell in his malaise. The structure of the lines and stanzas also heighten the effect of the sulking. The effect created by the meter in first two lines is analogous to experiencing the whine of a demanding child (e.g. You can t make me! or I don t wanna! ). The brevity and simplicity of his convictions also suggest that he is firmly rooted in his sulky disposition and will not easily be swayed otherwise. However, the speaker sympathizes with Henry and understands his resentment, but also recognizes that talking about and resolving the matter would be the best, most mature course, but there is no resolution. Author Lewis Hyde states, in regard to the childish tone: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Thomas Carlyle, a historian in nineteenth century presented his ideas on leadership, named The Great Man Theory. Carlyle focused on the influence great men had on historical events. How many people do you speak to that know who you are as a person and not just the things you like or the types of food you don t eat. Is it possible that you could, unwillingly and unintentionally be superficial? Good morning everyone and welcome to the mindset of modern society, materialistic and consumer driven. Today, the desirable consumerist lifestyle outweighs the instinct of compassion, which only proves my point that the inherent values of consumerism force you all; yes you, to be insensitive. The Australian poet Bruce Dawe wrote The Not So Good Earth during the Vietnam War, about these values influencing the response ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Twice? Three times? Does it end? The colloquialisms in the poem only further denote the inextricable link of consumerism to relationships. When it is linked this closely to people, the very nature of their interaction is shaped into a shallow never ending cycle of meaningless expression. The falseness of communication today is directly linked to the consumerist lifestyle and has been increasing since the late 1880 s. Clancy of the Overflow not only depicts the city as a giant symbol of materialism, but also portrays the townsfolk as having eager eyes and greedy stating that they have no time to grow, they have no time to waste . This statement is indicative of the busyness of people s lives and negligence of other humans. Similarly, when Paterson wrote As they shoulder one another in their rush and nervous haste he shows the carelessness of people affected by consumerism in this era, which has only increased from the time of Paterson to the time of Dawe, and furthermore to present day. What can we do to change? What can we do to stop this perpetual chain of meaningless things, people and interactions? It begins with the consumer mindset; this is what influences our identity, and our communications. When consumerism becomes something we understand and acknowledge we can then bring about change in relationships and eventually ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Self Realization in the Novel Beloved Essay Self Realization in the Novel Beloved Toni Morison s Pulitzer Prize winning novel Beloved centers on the powers of memory and the history behind those memories. The characters of the novel are former slaves for whom the past is a shackle that tethers them to their own personal slavery in their free lives. Each character seeks to find what remains of their true self once the veil of slavery is peeled away. The novel shows how the internalization of oppression can distort human relationships and subvert the self. The time frame of the novel is a juxtaposition of past and present, which reinforces the idea that the past is indeed alive and thriving inside of each character and must be reconciled before they can look towards a ... At first Baby Suggs does not understand why Halle would want to buy her freedom. She didn t understand what a sixty year old woman needed freedom for. Once Baby Suggs set foot on free land however, she realized what freedom meant. She realized that her hands belonged to her; she discovered her own heartbeat. Baby Suggs had found her self when she became free. She had never known any identity before her freedom. She summed up her lack of self identity when she said: Sweet Home was a marked improvement. No question. And no matter, for the sadness was at her center, where the self that was no self made its home She goes on to question: Could she sing? (Was it nice to hear when she did?) Was she pretty? Was she a good friend? Could she have been a loving mother? A faithful wife? Have I got a sister and does she favor me? If my mother knew me would she like me? That means they are leaving behind 30,000 families grieving and at least another 30,000 people they may have introduced to the addiction of the drugs each year. Opioids drug are a very serious matter that goes around daily without being noticed. Although some precautions have not been a total fail, recent epidemic shows the problems with the Opioid drug addiction is bigger than what we can handle and cannot simply curb the epidemic. There have been precautions made in the past to decrease the rise of Opioids and other harmful drugs, but nothing has made a big enough impact for it to matter. • 14. The Education And Teaching Field In the education and teaching field there are countless amounts of issues that occur on an everyday bases, whether the issues are big or small. For instance, some of the minor issues would be the lack of parent support, technology, and poor attendance rates. On the other hand some bigger issues would be the low teaching salaries, lack of funding for schools, and the overall problem of dealing with the common core standards. Common core was established in 2010 to set a certain learning foundation in each state. Specifically, the foundation is to keep every kid in America on a target goal and to be working at the same pace when the standards came to the end of year testing. Many scholarly sources have recognized the issue and has brought the subject into numerous articles. In the following review the sources will discuss the relationship on how the CCSS affects the educational system in the teaching field. Literature Review In Jamie Main s (2012) article the text goes into a discussion about the issues and concerns of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) on a global level. The concerns leads into a more specific issue of the investment being overlooked for the standards, because most of the investments are not effective for the development of the program. Throughout the article, Main s (2012) foremost perspective was trying to emphasize the comprehension that the CCSS can be effective if there is structure. Physics Lab Report Sample Experiment 2: Measurement of g Isaac Carrera 10/21/15 Wednesday 12 PM TA: Shawn Tang Partner: Xi Lin 24 cm 32cm 47cm 62cm 91cm g (m/s^2) 9.29±.85 9.39±.69 9.51±.53 9.47±.44 9.62±.34 Introduction: In this experiment, the purpose was to measure the acceleration due to gravity (g) by dropping a plastic ball from several heights and recording the time intervals it took to pass through two photogate sensors and the time it took for the ball to hit an impact sensor at the bottom. The photogate sensors are the constant distance d apart, and the impact sensor is distance D away from the lower sensor. Since the acceleration due to gravity is a constant, the difference in heights from which the ball was dropped should not affect the value of g. With the data from the sensors, the position of the ball over time and velocity could be calculated, allowing me to calculate the acceleration. Equation 1 Derivation: d = distance between photogates D = distance from lower photogate to impact sensor T1 = time it takes ball to go between photogates T2 = time it takes ball to go from lower photogate to impact sensor In general, 〖velocity〗_avg (v)=(∆distance (d))/(∆time (t)) Between two photogates, v_(avg,d)= d/T_1 Between photogate and impact sensor, v_(avg,D)= D/T_2 Naturally, v_(avg,D) v_(avg,d)=D/T_2 d/T_1 In general, 〖acceleration〗_(avg ) (a)= ∆v/∆t, so a_(avg )= (v_(avg,D) v_(avg,d))/〖∆t〗_avg 〖∆t〗_total=T_1+T_2 〖∆t〗_avg=(T_1+T_2)/2 Substitution yields: ... This chapter of the essay will focus on EU s and Indian marketing strategies of Vodafone to prove the importance of having different marketing strategies in different markets. The market in the EU is relatively mature compared with the Indian market. In a mature market of telecommunications the number of consumers of a mobile network is relatively steady. On Financial Times website, in Daniel Thomas s (2014) article Vodafone continues its evolution and widens European foothold , he describes the marketing strategy of Vodafone in EU specifically. Now the main strategy in EU is about expending Vodafone s business to other fields including the broadband and TV markets. In order to realize the business expending Vodafone began to purchase other companies like Ono of Spain, Cable Wireless Worldwide in the UK and Kabel Deutschland in Germany which provide such service to customers. Also Building Vodafone s own network in Italy, Spain and Portugal is another strategy used for business expending.
