Space Persuasive Essay
Does it feel like there are too many humans overpopulating the Earth? Cause eventually the Earth will
have no more space for humans and has exhausted its resources making life difficult to prosper. Well
fear not, there are space companies like the National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA)
and SpaceX trying to search throughout the universe for the possibilities of human survival. One of
Jupiter s four largest moon called Europa, discovered by the Galileo spacecraft created from NASA,
believed to contain water essential towards human life. The more reasons on why humans all over
Earth should consider space exploration as one of the top priority, because Earth s resources would
slowly be depleted as time goes on. Therefore, the use of space instruments to analyze evidence,
viewing Europa s surface on the possibilities of finding water, the building of fuel depots in space to
refuel spacecrafts, and information from spacecrafts are all necessary for human life outside of ...

The Punic Wars Essay
Romans were a very powerful people, and their influence grew and spread very quickly. Through
organized armies and great tactics they pushed themselves up the Italian peninsula, seizing land and
territory from the Etruscan League. Rome now owned most of the Italian peninsula except for what
was owned by the Gaelic Tribes. (Barker) They grew into quite the power and all of Europe
recognized them as a powerful force. Their influence grew and spread across the Mediterranean Sea
and it forced the meeting of the two greatest forces of the Mediterranean Sea. It is 264 BC and
hostilities between the Carthaginians and the Roman republic are on the rise.

Those who could not afford the expensive equipment served the military as light infantry, who mainly
wielded javelins and would hurl them into enemy lines.
The Carthage army wore very strong armor which included chainmail, bronze or iron greaves, full
helmets, and the iconic shield that has been on most of the battlegrounds of the ancient world, the
Hoplon. Hoplons were used by the Greeks for many generations. It is a sturdy shield of ingenious
design with rounded wood covered in bronze. Many Carthaginian soldiers painted religious symbols
on their armor and shield, such as the symbol of Tanit. (Basar)
All of this; however, pales in comparison to their ultimate weapons. Riding into battle the fearsome
African war elephants were a sight that would strike incredible fear into any heart. They were
sometimes even armored with chain mail and had men shooting arrows from the tops of them.
The Romans were also a force to be reckoned with. They will, after all, go on to conquer most of the
known western world and much of that comes from good equipment and training. The core of a roman
legionary soldier was his armor. Romans wore armor depending on what type of troop they were. The
most common armor of this time period was called Lorica Musculata. This armor was made of strong
solid bronze that would fit over the chest and back of the soldier. These chest plates were made in

Similarities Between Deucalion And Lycaon
In a Greek version Deucalion is warned of the flood. He builds an ark and stuffs it with creatures.
Deucalion also sends a pigeon to search for land, and the bird returns with an olive branch. When he
completes the voyage he gives thanks, and takes advice from the gods on how to repopulate the Earth.
In a more colorful version, Zeus was angered by the extreme pride of the Pelasgians , the indigenous
inhabitants of the Aegean Sea region, so he decided to punish them. Lycaon was the king of Arcadia,
which was a part of the Peloponnese peninsula. It was an unspoiled, harmonious wilderness, thought
to be the home of Pan. To punish Zeus for his oppression, Lycaon offered a blood sacrifice. Arcas, a
son of Zeus, was placed upon the burning altar. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They chastised and rebuked Salih, whom they had once adored. The poor and needy of the community
became His only believers. This caused the others to mock His efforts even more. Salih asked that the
rich stop oppressing the poor, and adopt a more virtuous behavior. A few more people accepted His
words. Not surprisingly, most of them refused to heed His warning, and instead began to harass Him
to cause a miracle as proof of the Power of God. Salih kept telling them to look around and remember
the numerous miracles God had already bestowed upon them. He reminded His people of the
countless castles and palaces they had built, and of their rich farm fields, and technical superiority. He
also reminded them of the fate of the Ad, and how they were destroyed for their similar, unrepentant
sins. Produce a camel from the rocks , they shouted. Still, He exhorted them to worship One God, and
be thankful to the One from whom all blessings flow. There was still time to turn from idolatry to
monotheism. Even a few of His believers turned away, because most people wanted proof that God

Although the book can be said to have a multitude of themes, these are encompassed within the
central idea of Tenacity. Braun received strict parenting from his father, who pushed him to do his best
without promising a reward and encouraged him to look past his window sill. He also gained
perspective on the world through his grandparents, who survived the Holocaust, fleeing to America in
hopes of a better life for them and their children. From childhood and all the way to adulthood, this

American Gender Roles
The social and cultural meanings attached to women and men refers to gender. In a way of organizing
social life, gender has been a way to divide labor and assign roles in our social and economic society.
Gender divisions make women and men unequal (Zinn, 2011: 173).
Gender roles and associated stereotypes describe differences between men and women, and prescribe
how they should behave in social and occupational settings (Eagly and Mitchell 2004) (Reilly and
Neumann 2013).
In a family, traditional gender roles view men as the breadwinner as the women played the domestic
role. Patriarchy is the term used for forms of social organization in which men are dominate over
women (Zinn, 2011: 175). In a private patriarchy, there is a male dominance role in the interpersonal
relation with a woman whereas in larger institutions, public patriarchy is seen.
Colonial America and the Emerging Modern Family Gender Roles.
In Colonial America, the godly family was seen as a patriarchal institution ruled by the father (Zinn,
2011: 37) and marriages were based on social and economic considerations, a more public patriarchy.
We have discussed our observations in our class sessions that men were the sole authority figures in
the family. They were responsible for the welfare of the family. Women were expected to help their
husbands and their majority of labor work was inside the home. The household was the basic
economic agricultural setting where goods were created, owned, and

Sons Of Thunder Inc V Borden Case Analysis
Section Two: the Legal Ramifications Mr. Petersen could seek monetary compensation by litigation or
arbitration methods. If Mr. Petersen choices litigation he could file a lawsuit against me for breach of
contract. He could claim I have violated the terms of the written contract by not continuing to supply
him with the same volume and shipment quantity of grapes at the per market jump price. Mr. Petersen
could also claim promissory estoppel on the grounds that he believed my son was acting as a company
agent and I did not dispel that belief; therefore, my son would be considered authorized to act on my
behalf (Restatement (third) of Agency, 2006). If the court upholds the doctrine of estoppel, then under

Petersen could sue for compensatory damages. Within the Sons of Thunder case, a jury found the
defendant (Borden Inc) to have breach its implied duty of good faith and fair dealing by terminating
the contract and the jury awarded the plaintiff compensatory damages of $412,000, which the plaintiff
would have received if the contract had been fulfilled (Sons of Thunder, Inc v Borden, Inc, 1997).
Thus, Mr. Petersen could seek compensatory damages for lost profits which would have been gained if
the contract had not been breach. Mr. Petersen could also seek remedies for the breach. The U. C. C.
provides laws by which a buyer may obtain remedies for a breach of sale contract. Under section 2
716, the buy could compel the seller to fulfill the contract (specific performance) and has the right to
recover damages after the contract s cancellation (U.C.C. §2 716, 2012). But specific performance
mandates by courts are rare (Kubasek, Brennan, Browne, 2015); therefore, Mr. Petersen should seek
compensatory damages for breach of

Comparison Between Incarceration And Recidivism
Incarceration in my opinion is not a deterrent to recidivism. When someone is placed into an
environment that is surrounded by those who have committed crimes ranging from selling marijuana
to first degree murder, there is a bad recipe for change. People adapt to their surrounds and someone
for example that is in prison or jail for a minor offense may room with someone who murdered a
family. The mindset of someone selling marijuana isn t usually as immoral as someone who murdered.
If you placed a person with a little bit of morals left into an environment which none are really to be
found they will slowly lose those morals. The person adapts and beings to feel as though it is normal
to think and feel a specific way. A study done by the Department

A Comparison of Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic Cells Essay
A Comparison of Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic Cells
There are two main types of cells in the world. The simplest cells such as bacteria are known as
Prokaryotic cells, and human cells are known as Eukaryotic cells. The main difference between each
of these cells is that a eukaryotic cell has a nucleus and a membrane bound section in which the cell
holds the main DNA which are building blocks of life.
Prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus. The chromosomes which are found in prokaryotes are usually
spread in the cytoplasm. In eukaryotic cells the chromosomes remain together inside the nucleus and
there is a clear nuclear membrane that is surrounding the nucleus.
Another difference between the two cells is that, in prokaryotic cells ... Show more content on

The main function of the Endoplasmic Reticulum is to produce, store and transport proteins and lipid

There are two types of Endoplasmic Reticulum the Smooth ER and the Rough ER. you can distinguish

Clarkson Lumber Case Analysis Essay
Statement of the Problem
At first glance, Clarkson Lumber appears to be a healthy company. However, despite rapid growth and
increasing sales Clarkson Lumber finds itself searching for additional funding to compensate for a
shortage in cash to fund its expanding business. Clarkson Lumber is in this situation for a number of
reasons.
The company s inability to receive payments from customers in a timely manner created a severe
impact in the company s cash flows. The age of account receivables increased each year. In 1995 it
took 49 days on average to receive payments from customers. Because of the delay in accounts
receivable, Clarkson Lumber s ability to pay suppliers on time is also impacted. In 1995 it took
Clarkson 38 days on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We noticed the following financial health indicators in our forecast: Clarkson Lumber s ratio of total
assets to sales is moving from a position in line with high profit outlets to low profit outlets at 37.7%.
This is due to accounts receivable increasing to 14% of sales which is higher than the 13.7%
experienced by low profit ratios. Also, inventory as a percentage of sales has steadily increased from
11.5% in 1993 to 13.5% in 1996.
In order to expand and remain financially stable, Clarkson Lumber must take advantage of all trade
discounts. Exhibits A 1 A 2 compares the impact to net income with and without the trade discounts.
In conclusion Clarkson Lumber would need an estimated $833,000 in additional financing as shown in
exhibit B 2. Therefore, Clarkson Lumber would not be able to expand in 1996.
Recommendation
As Mr. Clarkson s financial advisor, we would caution him on expanding his business given the
current financial trends and ratios of the company. The investment in inventory and receivables is too
high. As a result, Clarkson Lumber s return on assets, return on equity and invested capital are lower
when compared to other high profit outlets as shown in exhibit C. Additionally, a significant increase
in debt, such as a $750,000 loan, will further reduce the current ratio of the company. Clarkson
Lumber could benefit from some changes in its collection policies for

Types Of Risk As Small Business Manager
Types of Risk
Introduction
There are all types of risks involved if one is small business manager or a manager of a larger
corporation. The responsibilities on a day to day basis can be vital towards the success of the
organization. The company facilities can be associated with working capital, production, and sales.
The manager would need to reflect a common awareness of the potential risks that can be involved.
Although, there can always be a risk involved in an organization, the manager would and should have
the capability to identify the type of risks that the company can surface. In this paper, one will provide
a further explanation on the various risks and along with presenting a way for financial managers on a
moderate approach towards these risks.
Property Risks Property risks defined under a business can comprise of various things that can cause
damage to a property of the business. For example, a business can be damaged due to a flood.
According to Pielke, Downton, Miller, (2002), Flood damage has increased in the United States,
despite local efforts and federal encouragement to mitigate flood hazards and regulate development in
flood prone areas (p. 1). Although flood insurance is not federally required, in some cases, individuals
can be financially vulnerable to floods. If and when flood insurance is available, disaster assistance is
usually a loan that one must repay with interest. In essence, there is not a sure way to avoid things

Aviophobia And Phobia
Introduction
Air travel is an incredibly useful mode of transportation that enables practically anyone in the world to
go practically anywhere they want to. Unfortunately, for some people, it is not as simple and as
wonderful as it sounds. Although it is now counted amongst one of the safest ways to travel, many
individuals have what is called aviophobia: The fear of flying in an airplane (Faraci, Triscari,
Catalisano, D Angelo Urso, 2015). Indeed, phobia of flying is a specific phobia that affects around
25% of the population in varying degrees (Hirsch, 2012). While most people don t catch flights every
day, this phobia can still have countless negative effects on affected individuals daily lives. Centered
on the main common fears of plane crash and turbulence, symptoms can range from severe
anxiousness to full blown panic attacks (Hirsch, 2012) which explain why individuals will go to great
lengths if it will allow them to avoid having to endure such distress. When it seems as though catching
a flight will be inevitable, individuals with aviophobia might resort to self medication with alcohol or
mild sedatives (Hirsch, 2012). The following design assignment will describe a procedure that hopes
to make the lives of those with aviophobia easier and allow them to utilize air travel while avoiding
distress.
Treatment Options
In the past, treatment for phobias such as aviophobia were centered around various forms of

The Center And Yorkdale Mall
The socioeconomic significance of malls is seen through visual culture, where the mall has become a
place to meet up with friends and family, on any day of the week weekends being the busiest. Hence
the mall has become a centre of life, where the most memorable moments, holidays and birthdays are
spent, dinners are held all under one roof (Stokrocki 80). In Toronto the two largest malls I explored
were the Toronto Eaton s Centre and Yorkdale Mall both of which included over 200 stores, eateries,
rainforest cafés, and a movie theatre. However what was evident about these two malls apart from the
rest included anti social behaviours despite families being grouped together. Although people were
together, the sense of togetherness was plastic just like the manikins of store displays. It appeared as
though families were shopping just as an excuse to go out as a family even though children, teens and
adults would disperse into the stores of their choice and meet up at the end for a takeout meal,
contacting each other through their phones. In addition to this observation included the fact that
families shopping with other families or family friends were more of an exploitation of social and
economic class. People being able to spend at stores like Michael Kors, Coach, Tory Burch,
Abercrombie Fitch, Lululemon, Kate Spade and many more, without worrying about going over
budget meant being affluent. What really needs to be questioned is the idea that if these people spend

High School Naps Benefits
I am pleased to submit this essay in support of my application to the University of Florida. I hope to
spend many years at the University including receiving my bachelor s degree and attending law
school. The following ideas would supplement the University of Florida environment on an individual
basis and as a community.
One project I would employ is a campus wide afternoon nap. This may seem like a silly, far fetched
idea; however, taking naps has amazing benefits. This time could greatly benefit all college students,
one of the most sleep deprived group of people. We all have those days when we are exhausted and
everything is annoying so we decide to be grumpy. Students would be less grumpy if they got more
sleep. A positive attitude would resonate from well rested students. Secondly, a naptime could
positively impact student s academic profiles. Students would be apt to stay awake during lectures and
not fall asleep doing their homework. Most importantly, adequate sleep has been scientifically proven
to slow aging, more commonly referred to as getting wrinkles. I life goal I have set for myself is to, if
at all possible, age gracefully. This is a cause I strongly advocate for. A campus wide nap would
improve students mentally, academically, and physically. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

It is quite clear that the struggles that were aimed at fighting the inequalities are the same ones that
have guided the manner by which the Americans relate with each other and with the rest of the world.
They try to prove that they are conscious about issues that deal with racism and inequality.
In the contemporary society, it is common to hear that the Americans stand up against any person or
institution that is trying to indicate or advocate for any kind of iniquity. They rose up against the
policies that were being advocated for by the current president while on a campaign trail. They even
went ages and demonstrated after his elections just to prove to him that they are in total disagreement
with the policies that he is trying to advance. With such firm foundation, there is no doubt that
America as a country should come up and act as the guardian and custodian of justice to the whole
world.
It needs to oversee and dictate the manner by which injustices and issues that pertain to injustice are
addressed. By being the overall supervisor, it will have the mandate on assisting different citizens and
governments when it comes to coming up with policies that end segregation and

Radio in the New Age
Radio in the New Age
The essay is a popular form for writers to express their ideas. It can be found in many sources:
newspapers, magazines, and journals. The essay is no longer limited to these mediums, and as
communication technology develops, the essay has extended into new arenas. What was once an
exclusively paper and ink technology is now available over the airwaves and through the phone lines.
The essay has found its way to new formats through the radio and internet. We were once readers, but
have now become listeners and spectators through the cyberculture revolution.
The term cyberspace was invented by writer William Gibson to describe the interconnection of society
and its technology (Tribble 162). Cyberculture implies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Listening to recorded essays allows for a greater involvement of the listener than by reading. The
narrator s voice is clearly distinct from the voice of each person in the converstaion. While names and
introductions are still used, they are not necessary since the vocal uniqueness of each speaker allows
for easy comprehension of the listener. Background sounds are often picked up through the essay
while the recorder is on site the call of a bird, the laughter of a crowd, a congested intersection and is
instantly filtered and prioritized by the listener to fill in a greater understanding of place. The audio
clues are further enhanced by selected music to provide a transition between paragraphs , or changes
in subject. These musical transitions are so effective in performing the subject change, as well as
holding the listeners attention so they don t wander to another channel, that an NPR web site is
dedicated to the musial interludes. At All Songs Considered, the viewer can listen to the entire track
from which the music transistion was taken. The viewer can then become buyer if he likes what is
heard.
The stories themselves evolve in the mind. Interpreting meaning from visual clues is significantly
different than interpreting meaning from audio clues. Miriam Schacht

Reflection On Dodgers Training Activity
I arrived early at the dodgers training session today. I started off communicating to Anthony who is
currently dealing with lack of motivation. You could improve Anthony s lack of motivation by playing
uplifting music or the coach giving him a pep talk before the game and also maybe ask Anthony why
he enjoys the sport or why he did in the first place so that he can find his passion again. Then I
communicated with Mathew has no inability to focus when on the field. To improve Mathews focus
we will have to look at where he looses the most focus, this is during after the second inning. Also use
mental imagery before a game eg mediation. During half time the coach could play an uplifting song
through the intercom to help Mathew focus on the game and get him ready for the next two quarters.

Essay about A Child Called It, The Lost Boy and A Man...
For this report, I have read all three of Dave Pelzer s books about his life: A Child Called It , The Lost
Boy and A Man Named Dave. A Child Called It chronicles Dave s life as a child, and is told from that
viewpoint. From his earliest recollections of a relatively happy life with the Mommy to his life and
death struggle with The Mother , this book details the horror of Dave s dehumanizing existence.
Going far beyond typical physical, emotional and psychological abuses, Dave s story tells of
intentional starvation, forced coprophagia, poisoning and much more. This volume covers his life
from his earliest memories at age 4 until his rescue at age 12. The Lost Boy picks up the story where
the first book leaves off, following ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dave took food from other children s lunches at school in order to survive. His schoolmates were
aware of this, and it served to set him further apart from them. The children called him names and he
had no friends. Two of the disabilities that were apparent to me while reading these books were the
alcoholism of Dave s parents and Dave s developmental issues. Application of Developmental
Theories Families are systems in which each individual has a unique relationship with the other
individuals in the family. Dave s place in his family was, indeed, unique. The subsystem consisting of
Dave and his mother had a foundation in the boundaries set by the mother. Dave s role in the family
was, essentially, that he was not a part of the family. Not only that, Dave s identity was stripped away
by his mother. At the onset of the abuse, she began referring to him as the boy. As the situation
worsened, she referred to him as It , hence the title of the first book in this series. At the time of Dave
s rescue, he exhibited two of the four behavioral indicators of abuse that were established in 1979 by
the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare. He exhibited overly compliant, passive and
undemanding behaviors aimed at maintaining a low profile, avoiding any possible confrontation with

Allen Slate-Personal Narrative
As one drives up the California coast, they will begin to notice several things. First, the general
atmosphere shifts. The further north they travel from Los Angeles palms and golden beaches, the cities
begin to lose their positive, sunny vibes. They go from beach villas to industrial apartments to
suburban neighborhoods to run down harbor towns. The positive emotional vibrations emitted from
such architecture slowly surrenders its grip on its surroundings to a grim, hopeless one. As new,
booming cities fade into sleepy and ancient villages only occupied by drunken sailors and lost tourists,
the traveler will soon realize they are in a much less pleasant place as where they originated their
journey.
Secondly, the traveler will notice the fog. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

monitor give out a long, monotone blare.
His younger self collapsed to the ground like a ragdoll dropped form a little girl s hand. Another
scratch ticket appeared in Allen s hand.
God s dice chose her. You couldn t stop it. You never really had control, did you? You have lived your
life running from chance, uncertainty, luck. You thought that by running from it, you could avoid it.
The door swung open again. The homeless man walked in, holding a lottery ticket. Blood stained his
fingerless gloves.
His skin was pale and raw, shackles attached to broken chains were wrapped around his neck and
wrists.
His eyes were glowing white. A pair of horns had sprouted from he head.
He read the card aloud, his voice cutting through the air and filling the room like coastal mist.
The words reverberated in Allen s skull. He stared down at his hands as his palms bubbled black like
tar.
He felt vertigo as his neck snapped backwards.
His vision turned red. His eyes rolled back.
The demonic words played one more time in his head. Hear that? that s the sound your fate. The sound
of dice rolling.

Aristotle s Idea of Tragedy and the Play Fires in the...
Aristotle was a phenomenal Greek philosopher. His words and thoughts inspired millions, and
continue inspiring today. He taught lessons to those who would listen, he preached his scientific
findings, but above all, Aristotle enjoyed the theatre. In fact, Aristotle had his own views about
different genres. Today we will look at tragedy. In Aristotle s mind, a tragedy was the process of
imitating an action which had serious implications, was complete, and possessed magnitude. He even
composed six elements that a tragedy must contain. Aristotle s six elements of tragedy are a plot,
characters, thought, verbal expression, song composition, and visual adornment. Each contributes to
an aspect of a tragedy. Fires in the Mirror, written ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is another place where Fires in the Mirror challenges Aristotle. Fires in the Mirror had many
characters, but no hero. Not to mention that Fires in the Mirror also had female roles. In Aristotle s
day, women could not perform in plays because it was against the law. In fact, women didn t have a
significant role in society at all. They were merely domestic property unless they were of royal status.
This meant the protagonist in the plays were usually male. Nowadays, women have rights and many
plays use both men and women to act as the protagonist. The third element in Aristotle s tragedy list is
thought. The way we describe thought is the way a character reasons. Aristotle argues that the
characters of a play are logical. Fires in the Mirror challenges this element because Anna Devere
Smith made most of her characters react off of emotion, rather than logicality. During the Greek era,
the hero of a play was directly related to the situation, but they still used logic to determine their
action. I believe Anna Devere Smith illustrated reality a bit better. Very few people use logic to
describe their opinion. Instead, many of us use emotional ties because we base our thoughts on past
experiences, parental beliefs, and the popularity votes. Fires in the Mirror covers some very personal
and sketchy issues where emotions typically would come before logistics, such as racism, death,
slavery, the holocaust, and poverty. Aristotle s

The Hateful Eight-Personal Narrative
The Hateful Eight
The splendid and cruel Quentin Tarantino now gives us an immeasurable American epic set for the
most part in only one room. Truth be told, the different areas and corners of that room begin to feel as
far off as urban areas or deserts. At one stage, a character recommends separating this space to speak
to the Unionist North and Confederate South, and it s not all that quite a bit of a stretch to envision, in
spite of the fact that the elusive severe amoralism of every last one is such that tribal unwaveringness
segment was never going to work. Tarantino has made another stunningly snazzy and sharp film, a
Jacobean western, insinuate yet some way or another peculiarly huge, at the end of the day
discharging his own particular sort of unwholesome insane interesting brutal nitrous oxide into the
silver screen assembly room for every one of us to breathe in. Additionally, Tarantino now makes a
genuine star of Walton Goggins, giving a silly execution as the profoundly temperamental Chris

Similarities Between The Tale Of Cupidyche
The story of Cupid and Psyche is a classic greek myth about gods and goddesses interacting with
mortals, The Tale of Cupid and Psyche was written by Lucius Apuleius and is located in his book The
Golden Ass. This tale is one of the first Beauty and the Beast esque stories. Aside from Beauty and the
Beast, Rebecca (1940) directed by Alfred Hitchcock shares many similarities and motifs. The love
story within this thriller of Maxime de Winters and I (the new Mrs. de Winters) is comparable to that
of Cupid and Psyche. Possible linkages between the two include family/ mothers, voyeurism, and
female beauty/ male power. Michael Walker s book Hitchcock s Motifs (2005) is the main basis for
the links between the two stories.

Berdan Primers
The Berdan Primer or as I like to call it, the Burden primer, is referred to as non U.S. ammunition due
to the USA primarily using Boxer primers. Berdan primers are widely used outside of the U.S. and
normally found on cheap surplus ammunition. Berdan primers were created by Col. Hiram Berdan,
but not widely accepted in the U.S. due to its failure to easily be reloaded. These primers are; very
difficult to remove, time consuming and often require costly special tools to remove. The Berdan
primer has an anvil with a minimum of two flash holes, that are located inside the primer pocket of the
case. Berdan primed cartridges are still common around the globe, and it can perform like the Boxer.
Some aluminum and steel cartridges are often Berdan primed with the initials NR because they are not
manufactured to be reloaded. This also saves manufactures a little money, making it a single shot
cartridge. It s low cost and can be used for hunting and target shooting. Some older Berdan primed
cartridges had problems with corrosion, but modern cartridges don t seem to have this problem.
Throughout the years, hand loaders and Gunsmiths have become innovative and created better ways to
not only de prime Berdan primers, but to also reload and even convert the cases. When de priming the

conducting reloads. In my experience in dealing with the Berdan primer, I must say just avoid it,

Molarity Lab Report
The concept investigated in this lab was the relationship between absorbance and concentration, or
molarity. This relates to the guiding question, How could you make 1 liter of Pirate Purple #2 dye? ,
because in order to create more dye, you must obtain an equation from the graph to calculate the
amount, in grams, of blue and red dye that must be mixed to create the certain shade of purple. The
molarity of a substance is the amount of moles per one liter of liquid that it contains. A solution is a
mixture that contains two or more substances. A solute is one substance that is dissolved in another
substance, while a solvent is the matter that the solute is dissolved in. When plotted on a graph,
absorbance and concentration (molarity) have a

The ad for American apparel giant Van Heusen the world s largest shirt company was created in 1952.

to appear like a Neanderthal. The blonde Caucasian image bears the caption, college and alumni
tradition! , while the tribal dressed man reads, rumor has it that even he would gladly swap his boar s

What happened because of each ad? Were there protests? Was the ad taken down? Or did the reverse
happen, meaning did the brand thrive because of the controversial ad?
In 1952, this advertisement would not have raised any eyebrow, due to the culture dogma of the time.
Some members of society during that era believed that the white community was superior to the
minority community. Even though this is the era of the Civil Rights Movement, no one marched or
boycotted Van Heusen. These types of ads contain subliminal messages. Surely, this advertising may
have boldly offended many people. Nevertheless, this print ad was obviously effective. Without a
doubt this ad persuaded the target market to buy the oxford shirts to maintain their predominant status
in the social circle. Shirt sales didn t decrease and Van Heusen is a major global brand in this era.
However, critics have taken to social media platforms to complain about the 2011 Nivea ad. One tweet
boldly stated that Nivea claims that black people aren t civilized. Others called the ad unapologetically
racist. The company withdrew the 2011 advertisement after numerous complaints and released an
apology stating, This ad was inappropriate and offensive. It was never our intention to offend anyone,
and for this we are deeply sorry. This ad will never be used again. Diversity and equal opportunity are
crucial values of our company. Nivea wasn t interested in debating its ad,

Mujers Fibres Research Paper
The anarchist/women s rights organization Mujeres Libres was a pioneering force in the egalitarian
movement. The organization faced much backlash during its existence solely because it was an
organization of anarchist women during a time when patriarchy and nationalism were the dominating
norms. Therefore, the group had to overcome many obstacles put in place by Spanish society to prove
themselves as both a women s rights and an anarchist organization. Mujeres Libres used this unique
intersection between anarchism and women s rights to bring a distinctive and specialized approach to
equality that proved to be effective for giving a voice to silenced anarchist women.
Though political fluctuation was abundant in early 1900s Spain, one constant within the society was
its predominantly patriarchal nature. It was a society in which power was not associated with women,
because women were not viewed as equals to men. Consequently, women lived very restricted lives;
their place was limited to the household and their was worth determined by whether or not they were
married or by how submissive they acted towards men. Because of the society s expectations that
women should assume roles within the home, there was a vast discrepancy between the educational
levels of men and women. Higher education was exceedingly rare among Spanish women and female
illiteracy rates reached nearly 70%. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

involved in the Spanish Civil War. These other groups argued that because Mujeres Libres was only

Slavery And The Slave Owners
Slaves; people who are the property of and wholly subject to another. Why did it begin in the first
place? It was not until December 6th of 1865 when congress finally ratified a law to abolish slavery.
However, words of the law still had not spread and it would take around a year for the slave owners to
finally set the slaves free. The process of freeing the slaves was full of misery, pain, and constant
insults by the majority of the white population. However, despite discouragement from the whites, the
black people (with the support of some whites) pulled through and achieved the main goal of being
independent. That event took a while to occur, the real question is how did blacks and whites resist
slavery until it was finally abolished. How did the slaves counter the abuse and harassment of the
slave owners? I hypothesized that the blacks were able to withstand the punishment and slowly
undermine slavery due to their intelligence. And at the end of slavery, both races would be
intellectually equal. Back then slaves were supposedly inferior to white people and they did not and
also could not have the same intelligence as the whites. This idea was disproven countless times, one
unique example documented in the book Rebels Against Slavery is:, This master took his very light
skinned black to the marketplace to be sold. Meanwhile he went to make arrangements for a hotel
room. When the master returned he was bound in chains. While he was trying to prove that he wasn t a

Cause eventually the Earth will have no more space for humans and has exhausted its resources making life difficult to prosper. Well fear not, there are space companies like the National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA) and SpaceX trying to search throughout the universe for the possibilities of human survival. One of Jupiter s four largest moon called Europa, discovered by the Galileo spacecraft created from NASA, believed to contain water essential towards human life. Through organized armies and great tactics they pushed themselves up the Italian peninsula, seizing land and territory from the Etruscan League. Rome now owned most of the Italian peninsula except for what was owned by the Gaelic Tribes. (Barker) They grew into quite the power and all of Europe recognized them as a powerful force. Their influence grew and spread across the Mediterranean Sea and it forced the meeting of the two greatest forces of the Mediterranean Sea. The Carthage army wore very strong armor which included chainmail, bronze or iron greaves, full helmets, and the iconic shield that has been on most of the battlegrounds of the ancient world, the Hoplon. Hoplons were used by the Greeks for many generations. It is a sturdy shield of ingenious design with rounded wood covered in bronze. Many Carthaginian soldiers painted religious symbols on their armor and shield, such as the symbol of Tanit. (Basar) All of this; however, pales in comparison to their ultimate weapons. Riding into battle the fearsome African war elephants were a sight that would strike incredible fear into any heart. They were sometimes even armored with chain mail and had men shooting arrows from the tops of them. The Romans were also a force to be reckoned with. They will, after all, go on to conquer most of the known western world and much of that comes from good equipment and training. The core of a roman legionary soldier was his armor. Romans wore armor depending on what type of troop they were. The most common armor of this time period was called Lorica Musculata. • 4. Similarities Between Deucalion And Lycaon In a Greek version Deucalion is warned of the flood. He builds an ark and stuffs it with creatures. Deucalion also sends a pigeon to search for land, and the bird returns with an olive branch. When he completes the voyage he gives thanks, and takes advice from the gods on how to repopulate the Earth. In a more colorful version, Zeus was angered by the extreme pride of the Pelasgians , the indigenous inhabitants of the Aegean Sea region, so he decided to punish them. Lycaon was the king of Arcadia, which was a part of the Peloponnese peninsula. It was an unspoiled, harmonious wilderness, thought to be the home of Pan. Not surprisingly, most of them refused to heed His warning, and instead began to harass Him to cause a miracle as proof of the Power of God. Salih kept telling them to look around and remember the numerous miracles God had already bestowed upon them. He also reminded them of the fate of the Ad, and how they were destroyed for their similar, unrepentant sins. Produce a camel from the rocks , they shouted. • 6. American Gender Roles The social and cultural meanings attached to women and men refers to gender. In a way of organizing social life, gender has been a way to divide labor and assign roles in our social and economic society. Gender divisions make women and men unequal (Zinn, 2011: 173). Gender roles and associated stereotypes describe differences between men and women, and prescribe how they should behave in social and occupational settings (Eagly and Mitchell 2004) (Reilly and Neumann 2013). In a family, traditional gender roles view men as the breadwinner as the women played the domestic role. Patriarchy is the term used for forms of social organization in which men are dominate over women (Zinn, 2011: 175). In a private patriarchy, there is a male dominance role in the interpersonal relation with a woman whereas in larger institutions, public patriarchy is seen. Colonial America and the Emerging Modern Family Gender Roles. In Colonial America, the godly family was seen as a patriarchal institution ruled by the father (Zinn, 2011: 37) and marriages were based on social and economic considerations, a more public patriarchy. We have discussed our observations in our class sessions that men were the sole authority figures in the family. They were responsible for the welfare of the family. Women were expected to help their husbands and their majority of labor work was inside the home. The household was the basic economic agricultural setting where goods were created, owned, and ... When someone is placed into an environment that is surrounded by those who have committed crimes ranging from selling marijuana to first degree murder, there is a bad recipe for change. People adapt to their surrounds and someone for example that is in prison or jail for a minor offense may room with someone who murdered a family. The mindset of someone selling marijuana isn t usually as immoral as someone who murdered. The simplest cells such as bacteria are known as Prokaryotic cells, and human cells are known as Eukaryotic cells. The main difference between each of these cells is that a eukaryotic cell has a nucleus and a membrane bound section in which the cell holds the main DNA which are building blocks of life. Prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus. The chromosomes which are found in prokaryotes are usually spread in the cytoplasm. However, despite rapid growth and increasing sales Clarkson Lumber finds itself searching for additional funding to compensate for a shortage in cash to fund its expanding business. Clarkson Lumber is in this situation for a number of reasons. The company s inability to receive payments from customers in a timely manner created a severe impact in the company s cash flows. The age of account receivables increased each year. In 1995 it took 49 days on average to receive payments from customers. Because of the delay in accounts receivable, Clarkson Lumber s ability to pay suppliers on time is also impacted. In 1995 it took Clarkson 38 days on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We noticed the following financial health indicators in our forecast: Clarkson Lumber s ratio of total assets to sales is moving from a position in line with high profit outlets to low profit outlets at 37.7%. This is due to accounts receivable increasing to 14% of sales which is higher than the 13.7% experienced by low profit ratios. Also, inventory as a percentage of sales has steadily increased from 11.5% in 1993 to 13.5% in 1996. In order to expand and remain financially stable, Clarkson Lumber must take advantage of all trade discounts. Exhibits A 1 A 2 compares the impact to net income with and without the trade discounts. In conclusion Clarkson Lumber would need an estimated $833,000 in additional financing as shown in exhibit B 2. Therefore, Clarkson Lumber would not be able to expand in 1996. Recommendation As Mr. Clarkson s financial advisor, we would caution him on expanding his business given the current financial trends and ratios of the company. The investment in inventory and receivables is too high. As a result, Clarkson Lumber s return on assets, return on equity and invested capital are lower when compared to other high profit outlets as shown in exhibit C. Additionally, a significant increase in debt, such as a $750,000 loan, will further reduce the current ratio of the company. Unfortunately, for some people, it is not as simple and as wonderful as it sounds. Although it is now counted amongst one of the safest ways to travel, many individuals have what is called aviophobia: The fear of flying in an airplane (Faraci, Triscari, Catalisano, D Angelo Urso, 2015). Indeed, phobia of flying is a specific phobia that affects around 25% of the population in varying degrees (Hirsch, 2012). While most people don t catch flights every day, this phobia can still have countless negative effects on affected individuals daily lives. Centered on the main common fears of plane crash and turbulence, symptoms can range from severe anxiousness to full blown panic attacks (Hirsch, 2012) which explain why individuals will go to great lengths if it will allow them to avoid having to endure such distress. When it seems as though catching a flight will be inevitable, individuals with aviophobia might resort to self medication with alcohol or mild sedatives (Hirsch, 2012). The following design assignment will describe a procedure that hopes to make the lives of those with aviophobia easier and allow them to utilize air travel while avoiding distress. • 20. The Center And Yorkdale Mall The socioeconomic significance of malls is seen through visual culture, where the mall has become a place to meet up with friends and family, on any day of the week weekends being the busiest. Hence the mall has become a centre of life, where the most memorable moments, holidays and birthdays are spent, dinners are held all under one roof (Stokrocki 80). In Toronto the two largest malls I explored were the Toronto Eaton s Centre and Yorkdale Mall both of which included over 200 stores, eateries, rainforest cafés, and a movie theatre. However what was evident about these two malls apart from the rest included anti social behaviours despite families being grouped together. Although people were together, the sense of togetherness was plastic just like the manikins of store displays. It appeared as though families were shopping just as an excuse to go out as a family even though children, teens and adults would disperse into the stores of their choice and meet up at the end for a takeout meal, contacting each other through their phones. • 21. High School Naps Benefits I am pleased to submit this essay in support of my application to the University of Florida. I hope to spend many years at the University including receiving my bachelor s degree and attending law school. The following ideas would supplement the University of Florida environment on an individual basis and as a community. One project I would employ is a campus wide afternoon nap. This may seem like a silly, far fetched idea; however, taking naps has amazing benefits. This time could greatly benefit all college students, one of the most sleep deprived group of people. We all have those days when we are exhausted and everything is annoying so we decide to be grumpy. Students would be less grumpy if they got more sleep. A positive attitude would resonate from well rested students. Secondly, a naptime could positively impact student s academic profiles. Students would be apt to stay awake during lectures and not fall asleep doing their homework. Most importantly, adequate sleep has been scientifically proven to slow aging, more commonly referred to as getting wrinkles. I life goal I have set for myself is to, if at all possible, age gracefully. This is a cause I strongly advocate for. A campus wide nap would improve students mentally, academically, and physically. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Promoting kindness is something I feel is very important. A Child Called It chronicles Dave s life as a child, and is told from that viewpoint. From his earliest recollections of a relatively happy life with the Mommy to his life and death struggle with The Mother , this book details the horror of Dave s dehumanizing existence. Going far beyond typical physical, emotional and psychological abuses, Dave s story tells of intentional starvation, forced coprophagia, poisoning and much more. Application of Developmental Theories Families are systems in which each individual has a unique relationship with the other individuals in the family. Dave s place in his family was, indeed, unique. The subsystem consisting of Dave and his mother had a foundation in the boundaries set by the mother. Dave s role in the family was, essentially, that he was not a part of the family. Not only that, Dave s identity was stripped away by his mother. At the onset of the abuse, she began referring to him as the boy. As the situation worsened, she referred to him as It , hence the title of the first book in this series. At the time of Dave s rescue, he exhibited two of the four behavioral indicators of abuse that were established in 1979 by the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare. He taught lessons to those who would listen, he preached his scientific findings, but above all, Aristotle enjoyed the theatre. In fact, Aristotle had his own views about different genres. Today we will look at tragedy. In Aristotle s mind, a tragedy was the process of imitating an action which had serious implications, was complete, and possessed magnitude. He even composed six elements that a tragedy must contain. Aristotle s six elements of tragedy are a plot, characters, thought, verbal expression, song composition, and visual adornment. Each contributes to an aspect of a tragedy. Fires in the Mirror, written ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is another place where Fires in the Mirror challenges Aristotle. Fires in the Mirror had many characters, but no hero. Not to mention that Fires in the Mirror also had female roles. In Aristotle s day, women could not perform in plays because it was against the law. In fact, women didn t have a significant role in society at all. They were merely domestic property unless they were of royal status. This meant the protagonist in the plays were usually male. Nowadays, women have rights and many plays use both men and women to act as the protagonist. The third element in Aristotle s tragedy list is thought. The way we describe thought is the way a character reasons. Aristotle argues that the characters of a play are logical. Fires in the Mirror challenges this element because Anna Devere Smith made most of her characters react off of emotion, rather than logicality. During the Greek era, the hero of a play was directly related to the situation, but they still used logic to determine their action. I believe Anna Devere Smith illustrated reality a bit better. Very few people use logic to describe their opinion. Instead, many of us use emotional ties because we base our thoughts on past experiences, parental beliefs, and the popularity votes. Fires in the Mirror covers some very personal and sketchy issues where emotions typically would come before logistics, such as racism, death, slavery, the holocaust, and poverty. Aristotle s ... Berdan primers are widely used outside of the U.S. and normally found on cheap surplus ammunition. Berdan primers were created by Col. Hiram Berdan, but not widely accepted in the U.S. due to its failure to easily be reloaded. Some aluminum and steel cartridges are often Berdan primed with the initials NR because they are not manufactured to be reloaded. The organization faced much backlash during its existence solely because it was an organization of anarchist women during a time when patriarchy and nationalism were the dominating norms. Therefore, the group had to overcome many obstacles put in place by Spanish society to prove themselves as both a women s rights and an anarchist organization. Mujeres Libres used this unique intersection between anarchism and women s rights to bring a distinctive and specialized approach to equality that proved to be effective for giving a voice to silenced anarchist women. Though political fluctuation was abundant in early 1900s Spain, one constant within the society was its predominantly patriarchal nature. It was a society in which power was not associated with women, because women were not viewed as equals to men. Consequently, women lived very restricted lives; their place was limited to the household and their was worth determined by whether or not they were married or by how submissive they acted towards men. It was not until December 6th of 1865 when congress finally ratified a law to abolish slavery. However, words of the law still had not spread and it would take around a year for the slave owners to finally set the slaves free. The process of freeing the slaves was full of misery, pain, and constant insults by the majority of the white population. However, despite discouragement from the whites, the black people (with the support of some whites) pulled through and achieved the main goal of being independent. That event took a while to occur, the real question is how did blacks and whites resist slavery until it was finally abolished. How did the slaves counter the abuse and harassment of the slave owners? I hypothesized that the blacks were able to withstand the punishment and slowly undermine slavery due to their intelligence. And at the end of slavery, both races would be intellectually equal. Back then slaves were supposedly inferior to white people and they did not and also could not have the same intelligence as the whites. This idea was disproven countless times, one unique example documented in the book Rebels Against Slavery is:, This master took his very light skinned black to the marketplace to be sold.
