The Effects Of Violence On Groups And Out Groups
This paper aimed to determine whether or not violence affected in groups and out groups. Specifically,
the paper was looking at how and if violence affected divisions between in groups and out groups. The
conductor(s) used the postwar community in Kosovo for the research and experiments. The
researcher(s) found that violence does have an affect on in groups/out group divisions. The
researcher(s) found that violence is shown to increase the division between in groups and out groups
when the distinctions are already evident. Additionally, researcher(s) found that local communities
that experience more violence were more uncertain of people outside their local communities. I think
that this manuscript should be rejected because although the researcher(s) is missing a major true
experiment component, there is not a good argument for causation over correlation, and the paper does
not address the reliability and validity. The experiment used in this manuscript is very well put
together and thoroughly explained. The researcher(s) gives a very detailed account of the experiment,
as they should incase other researchers want to recreate the experiment. It is important that other
researchers are able to recreate the experiment because it shows reliability. However I would
recommend this paper for rejection because the experiment is lacking a control group. According to
Bachman and Schutt (2013), true experiments must have at least one experimental group and one
control group,

Course Taking And Apparatus Set Up
Course taking and apparatus set up will be the first steps in this project. For safety measures, the
apparatus needs to be reinstalled under the fume hood. Basic pretreatment processes will be carried
out in order to prepare the biosorbents for adsorption. Aiming to check the reliability of the system
and find possible pitfalls, some preliminary tests will be run, and the results will be analyzed. Once
the reliability of the apparatus, repeatability of the process, and standard operating procedure are
determined, the next phase of the project will be commenced.
5.2 Phase 2
In this phase, the experiments will be focused on single component and binary systems. Firstly, pure
methane will be fed into the column and the adsorption process will be investigated. Afterwards, the
same experiments at similar conditions will be carried out using pure water vapor. Based on the result
of these experiments, a new set of experiments will be designed and carried out for binary systems
(Methane and water vapor). Equilibrium and kinetics will be studied. Dynamic studies will be
accomplished. Generally, the performance of Flax Shive and Oat Hulls in PSA process will be
determined.
5.3 Phase 3
To further investigate the adsorption process, various isotherms will be fitted on the experimental data.
Equilibrium capacity, uptake of species, diffusion constants, and selectivity will be calculated. Based
on these results, the nature of the adsorption process will be determined. Afterwards, a set

Why Should Citizens Be Able To Own Exotic Animals
Should Citizens be able to Own Exotic Animals? What exactly is an Exoctic animal ? An animal that s
isn t usually kept as a pet. For instance, a Lion, Scorpion, or even a Tarantula. No, citizens should not
be able to own exotic animals. I say this for many reasons, one of which is the simple fact that these
animals are far to dangerous for any person who isn t a zoologist to care for. Exotic animals aren t
domesticated, in other words, they are not tamed. That fact is what many people fail to realize. They
may think It ll be so cool to own a baby tiger. But what about when that baby tiger is no longer a
baby? Not to mention that these animals are time consuming and extremely expensive. If you think vet

Chinese Immigrants In Canada
According to Statistic Canada, majority of Chinese Canadians are foreign born. In 2001, 72% of
Chinese Canadians were born outside of Canada. In addition, majority of the Chinese community are
in two provinces. In fact, about 82% reside in either province, 47% in Ontario and 34% in British
Columbia. In order for a psychologist to understand this ethnic group, they would want to look at the
correlation between foreign Chinese people, and any similar experiences they have or are currently
enduring in Canada. An anthropologist would want to identify why Chinese people chose Canada as
one of their destinations by comparing Canadian culture to Chinese culture. Finally, the immigration
of so many Chinese people would lead a sociologist to look at ... Show more content on

They are more likely than any other Canadian to be married. In 2001, 56% of people aged 15 and over
in the Chinese community were married. They were also less likely to be in a common law
relationship, as there are 2% of Chinese origin living as common law in comparison to 10% of all
Canadian adults. Furthermore, Chinese Canadians are less likely to be lone parents, as 4% of Chinese
adults were lone parents compared to 6% of adults in the whole population. This information may not
be as significant for a psychologist, however they may look at how each individual has been
conditioned to be against a common law relationship. An anthropologist might look at how the culture
of Chinese immigrants has grounded their beliefs in marriage. They might look at their traditions as
well, to give them a better idea as to why majority of the Chinese community get married as young as

identify the similarities portrayed among the Chinese community in Canadian society. They may also

Who Is Pontius Pilate The Roman Governor In The Death Of...
Question 3: Discuss the role of Pontius Pilate the Roman Governor in the death of Jesus. Who was he?
Did he want Jesus to die? What did he do to achieve his aims? Was he happy with the end result of his
actions? Pontius Pilate was the Roman Governor during the period of Jesus existence and is most
commonly known as the judge of Jesus trial. Pilate was appointed prefect of the Roman provinces of
Judaea, Samaria and Idumaea by the Roman Emperor, Tiberius in 26 AD. The title of a Roman prefect
granted Pilate the power of a supreme judge that had the only authority to demand a criminal s
execution. His crucial responsibility as a Roman prefect was maintaining law and order which it has
been said to be accomplished through brute force if Pilate couldn t negotiate. Initially, Pontius Pilate
did not want Jesus to be put to death as he saw him as innocent but was cautious to not offend the
Jews. After examining Jesus privately, he returned to the crowd that gathered and exclaimed that the
accused had done nothing worthy of death however, the crowd were displeased with his statement and
would not settle with anything less than His death. Trying to maintain his judgement that Jesus was
innocent, he offered the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Persuasive Essay On Conspiracy Theories
The Internet has played a large role in my interest in conspiracy theories. Although I definitely do not
believe all of them, they are fun to look into and are good tools for procrastination. Falling deeper into
the hole that is Wikipedia, I spent a large amount of my free time researching them. It got to the point
where I had to force myself to actually work on homework instead. However, I am not one of those
crazy conspiracy theorists; I am only interested in ones that seem legit. All interesting conspiracy
theories have similar qualities. A majority of them involve the government or celebrities. And
depending on the theory, they are believable.
My personal favorites all happen to involve the government, some classics included. It is said that
9/11 was an inside job perpetrated by Bush to purposely start a war with Afghanistan. Some survivors
recall that they heard separate explosions at the time of the attacks, which has led people to believe
that there were pre planted explosives inside the Twin Towers. It is a well known fact that the towers
collapsed at one point, but this is seen as suspicious to many conspiracy theorists. A common known
phrase among believers is jet fuel can t melt steel beams. Another widely believed theory is that the
Royal Family killed Princess Diana. There are a few versions, one of which is that they killed her to
prevent her from exposing the Family for being awful and corrupt. The other is where she was killed
for loving a man of color,

The Purpose of Advertising Essay
The Purpose of Advertising
The purpose of advertising is to familiarise the public with a certain brand or product. Companies
spend millions of pounds a year on advertising so that when the public are searching for a product or
service a certain brand is recognised and, as a result, their product or service is chosen.
Companies need to ensure that their money is spent wisely. They do this by completing extensive
market and physcological research. Members of the public from a company s target group or audience
are chosen to express their views about the advertisment before it is published or aired.
Media can include television, cinema and radio. This is the communications aspect of ... Show more

This is illustrated in the first advertisment, for Chanel No.5 perfume.
The classic, sophisticated design immediately sets the tone for the advert and for the type of audience
it has been aimed at.
Chanel is an icon of the 21st century and its image needs to be preserved by attracting new customers.
The modern, yet timeless layout of the promotion emphasises on this, but the advert is traditional
enough to appeal to older audiences. This shows that although Chanel wish to attract a newer
audience, they also desire to keep their traditional customers loyal to the marque, hence the non
controversial advertisment.
The advert itself has remained almost unchanged for the last forty years, as Chanel wish to preserve
their image. However, to appeal to successive generations the visual treatment has recieved subtle
changes, such as the inclusion of a more modern looking colour scheme.
The advert instantly grabs the reader with its striking, simplistic design. The contrast between the two
main colours adds to the classic meets modern feel that Chanel were aiming for.
Chanel is a name dating back to the 1930 s. Over the years, it has been associated with the world of
fashion, style and elegent living throughout the world.

Charles A Riley Disability And The Media Rhetorical Analysis
Rhetorical Analysis The mainstream press today when discussing a disabled celebrity disregards many
of the persons accomplishments throughout their life, but instead focuses and finds themselves
becoming more and more susceptible to drawing attention to their disability alone. Charles A. Riley II
enlightens the able bodied community on many issue s throughout his book, Disability and the Media:
Prescriptions for Change. He argues that the media is inaccurately depicting the disabled community
throughout the use of advertisements, but may also be unintentionally disrespecting the community as
well in face to face contact. Riley is a professor of journalism at Baruch College, and throughout his
career, has received multiple awards for his writing s on issues relating to disability. In Charles A.

Marius s Loyalty To Power
Besides gaining an army, Marius gained something else: the extreme personal loyalty of the same
landless masses which he recruited into his army. The recruiting of the masses would change the entire
relationship between citizens, generals, the Senate and Roman institutional ideology. Prior to Marius,
the armies may have been loyal to a particular commander or general, but still fought first and
foremost for the Senate and People of Rome, as well as the preservation and expansion of their own
estates. After Marius, they fought for their Legate, that is their legally appointed commander, and for
the plunder and glory he could provide. These troops had no life outside the army, and served for very
long periods, serving terms from 20 to 25 years. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Further, the extreme loyalty to generals leading the army rather than state would lead to open
rebellion, civil war, the combination military political power and eventually the crowning of emperors.
Marius himself used his position as a general to help himself gain votes when he ran for Consul in 107
BC. Sallust writes of one of Marius speeches delivered during his campaign, Compare now, my fellow
citizens, me, who am a new man, with those haughty nobles. What they have but heard or read, I have
witnessed or performed. What they have learned from books, I have acquired in the field; and whether
deeds or words are of greater estimation, it is for you to consider. Marius clearly understood that the
military and its functions were not in a vacuum in relation to politics and moved to capitalize on this
realization. His movement through politics would foreshadow those of his nephew Gaius Julius
Caesar, 50 years

Essay on The Outcomes of the War of 1812
The Outcomes of the War of 1812
Many historians have said that the War of 1812, a war fought between the United States and Great
Britain, was
senseless and insignificant . This statement, for the most part, is not true. Without this war, many of
the changes that were a result of the war, would not have taken place. The War of 1812 caused many
important events to occur. These events were both direct and indirect. Although The war did not
accomplish any of the things that it started out to accomplish, it became a turning point in American
history. Most of the issues that America started out fighting for disappeared shortly after the war, just

The British, also, no longer enforced blockades on
American ships after the war. This increased American sentiment towards Great Britain again,
especially in New England states due to the fact that their livelihood rested mainly in shipping. As a
result of their newfound fame caused by their actions during the war, Andrew Jackson and William
Henry Harrison gained respect throughout the states. Jackson, was the renowned hero of the Battle of
New Orleans, and Harrison, was known for his brilliance and success in fighting the Indians. Both
Jackson and
Harrison went on to become Presidents of the United States, due mainly to this newfound fame and
recognition of their strengths.
Both men greatly influenced the history of America as a result of their terms as President. Historians
even acknowledge a historical Age of Jackson as part of Jackson s contribution as
President.
Federalism waned in power and declined as an indirect result of the war. During the war, the
Federalists became upset over how the war was being conducted. New England leaders, many of
whom were Federalists, organized the Hartford Convention. The purpose of the convention was to
study ways in which to protest the conduct of the war. People participating in the convention, were
caught by their opponents and accused of treason. Never recovering from this blow, the Federalist
party declined in power. The main issues over which the war started, weren t

Animal Cloning Extinct Animals
My research is about the art of cloning cloning includes all things that are living. People have created
a way to clone things. What they have to do is they have to get a mature somatic cell from what they
wish to copy then they put the somatic cell in an egg cell that has its nucleus removed.Scientists have
created a lot of things from a big deer to a tiny little mouse and they are all cloned from the process
that I had mentioned at the top. They are also able to clone a lot more things than just those that I had
mentioned it is even a possibility that they could clone humans and have they already no one knows
only the people that have created them.
Cloning Extinct Animals
There are a lot of animals that are going extinct every day and there might be a way to not stop it but
we could clone the animals that are starting to go extinct. When we clone them we could have more of
those extinct animals. The way scientists or other people who wish to clone could clone animals that
are already extinct
Is that if we have some type of DNA of that animal we could do the same process that they use to
clone animals and that will clone that animal that is extinct and they could reproduce more
animals. Then they will be able to protect them and there won t be that much extinct animals. The
process that they use is called interspecies nuclear transfer and that is what they call it when they
clone an endangered animal. They way that it works is the same way they clone any other living thing

Pillbug Research Paper
Introduction Armadillidium vulgare commonly known as pillbug is an isopod, a type of non insect
arthropod also known terrestrial crustacean. (Pillbug Armadillidium Vulgare). The pillbugs roll into a
pill form when threatened hence the name pillbug. Pillbugs are active during night but can be found
during the day in the soil or under debris or between rocks. Pillbugs can reach a length of up to 18 mm
when matured (Capinera, 2001). In this experiment, I investigated whether pillbugs are attracted
towards a specific or different food types? I think this is a significant question because knowing what
type of food pillbugs consume is very helpful in studying the characteristics and nature of pillbugs.
What lead me in asking this question is that I was studying the nature of pillbugs and found that
pillbugs feed on decomposing materials, and I thought what if decomposing materials were removed,
what food the pillbugs would consume. To find this out, I set up behavior observation chamber (BOC)

of pillbugs were attracted towards the chamber with the kale in it when compared to the other

based on findings. One observation that I noticed was, the pillbugs were interested in kale because it
gave them a surface to hide under. Once the pillbugs were in the kale chamber, they directly went
under the kale and stayed there. One thing I could ve done better with the experiment was break the
kale into smaller bits so that the pillbugs had no chance of hiding underneath it. Another factor to
consider was, the amount of light that was present during the experiment, pillbugs are nocturnal,
which means that they are active night. If this experiment were to be retested, I would strongly suggest
to use the same size bits of food and for the test to be done at night or a much darker

The Problem Of Human Development
Experts have spent centuries attempting to obtain the secrets of human development and identify the
exact science behind it. Experts have not been able to discover any exact influences of normal human
development, nor have they been able to uncover the exact causes of developmental abnormalities
(Disabilities). What they have found can seem quite confusing and has caused much debate among
those trying to tackle the answer to the question. Is ones developmental trajectory determined by the
highness of their genetics or what they experience from the environment to which they are raised?
Because of the spectrum of disciplines that this subject crosses the weight of unanswered questions far
exceeds the amount of answers questions and most of those answers lead to more questions. As
confusing, frustrating, and interminable as all this may seem, the complexities have not discouraged,
instead have encouraged further exploration into the subject.
It has long been established that without development human survival. Development is essential for
the continuance and sequentially survival of every species, including but not limited to, the human
species. Equally as mystifying, are the differentiations of development from one human to another.
How is it that one human develop more effectively than another? If development is essential to the
survival of the human race why do some not develop enough skill to survive on their own? Charles
Darwin believed that one human having abilities

Overpopulation in China
Overpopulation in China
Background
1949 The Peoples Republic of China was formed. The population then was made up of mostly
workers. The Chinese families were paid to have babies.
1953 The Chinese population had grown to about 583 million people. The Chinese government no
longer offered an incentive of pay to have babies.
1963 The Chinese government realized that the families continued to produce babies and they were
headed for major problems. The Chinese government came out with, Later Sparcer Fewer Policy. The
Policy encouraged Couples to have children later in life, space the births farther apart, and have fewer
children. The problem with this policy was that there were already millions of people in China. ...

Why Is It Important To Engage Young People In...
Young people bring a new perspective to the concept of leadership. Their age suggests limitations to
what is seen as conventional markers of leadership, however they still have the ability to lead or
influence others within a given context. Freire argues that knowledge gained from living experience
should not be rejected or valued less than developed knowledge. Living experience plays a valid part
in understanding the larger context. Young people may not understand the complexities of the
democratic system and broader contexts, but this does not invalidate their worldview and living
experience of how the decisions made impact them. Moreover, their living experience brings detail
and richness to the decision making process. However, young people can be easily marginalized in the
decision making processes, largely due to the lack of legal standing when under the age of eighteen.
Young people who are unable to vote are largely left to other measures such as protests and petitions
(Freire). Empowerment is, therefore, critical to the participation for them to become active in the
context and power relationships they are involved in. Empowered young people hold elected
representatives and other delegates accountable for the decisions they make, and the power they have

participation. Once the positive effects of youth participation are acknowledged, negative stereotypes
of young people will be eliminated, helping young Americans climb higher on the ladder of youth

Essay On Cinematic Techniques In Tim Burton
Tim Burton, arguably one of the most iconic directors in the world, is responsible for many popular
films including Frankenweenie, Alice in Wonderland, and Beetlejuice. His movies are easily
distinguishable due to his unique style of directing, which involve the brilliant use of cinematic
techniques. Two cinematic techniques incorporated in his films are color and sound, which are used to
establish the tone and mood of the scenes. If the tone and mood are not accurately shown, underlying
messages could be easily misunderstood or overlooked. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse
Bride, and Edward Scissorhands all have a common message: appearances can be deceptive.
Therefore, the cinematic technique of sound and color are essential ... Show more content on

Another cinematic technique that Burton incorporates throughout his films is sound. Sound establishes
the mood of the scene and complements the cinematic technique of color. For example, in Corpse
Bride, Burton not only uses vibrant colors as a contrast to the real world but sounds as well. The
scenes presented in the real world were very uptight and bland, however, in the underworld, we are
given an array of different sounds and music, involving a lively band playing groovy music. This sets
a mood of a lively vibe in comparison to the depressing mood in the real world which is also similar to
Willy Wonka s factory in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The exterior scene displaying Willy
Wonka s factory is silent and no music is heard. This leads to an assumption that Mr. Wonka is an
isolated man, however, as the film progresses, it is presented that he is a unique and quirky individual.
The songs made by the oompa loompas reflect his odd and creative character. This is yet again an
example of a misunderstood character, similar to that of Edward in Edward Scissorhands. When
Edward s castle comes into view, ominous music begins leaving the audience with an anxious or
uneasy feeling. However, when Peg meets Edward in
Pankovich 3 person, instead of scary music playing, an angelic choir is replaced giving a mood of the
innocence of Edward. These are some of the many examples where Burton uses music to demonstrate
that looks can be deceptive. By

Adoption Essay 15
Adoption
When a person decides to adopt, he takes the responsibility of raising a child who is not biologically
his own. There are various reasons why people decide to adopt. Some say adoption is the best thing
for certain children and many successful stories prove it to be true. However, there are also numerous
tragic reports of adopted children being abused. Basically, what adoption meant, and still means, is
that someone (the adoptive couple) is promising to assume all responsibilities for taking care of
someone else (Powledge 4). How the adoptive parents go about raising the child is completely up to
them. Although there are many different types of families in today s society, one special kind of family

There have been many various surveys taken concerning adoptees. Times reported various horror
stories concerning adoption. Some stories include children being poisoned, a child being shaken to
death, and children being sexually abused (Gay 89). Unfortunately these are just a few examples of
many. Adoptees often suffer from attachment disorders, which are more common in older children.
These disorders caused by adoption are extremely noticeable and should be taken seriously. These
unattached kids often experience unresponsiveness to affection, serious problems with hoarding or
stealing food, abnormal eye contact problems, often thinking about blood or fire, and are often
overfriendly to strangers (Adamec 73). Also identity and self image problems are a major cause of
distress to adopted children (Harnack 21). Counseling and therapy are highly recommended to help
kids deal with these disorders. Even though there are numerous negative stories about adopted kids,
there are also lots of success stories. Either way the adoptive parents are totally responsible for the
outcome of all situations concerning the child they decide to adopt. Families may have different
structures but they are all responsible for providing basic needs (Foster 99).
Adoptive parents and biological parents are both fully capable of providing all the basic needs. Some
people see adoption as a cruel decision an

A Farmer Is Reliable And Hard Working
And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, I need a caretaker. So God
made a farmer. A farmer is someone who can multitask. He can work long hours, raise livestock, till
the fields, sow seed for crops, maintain his home, support his family, and still attend a school board
meeting that runs past midnight. He not only provides for his family and animals, he provides for the
nation. It is proof, based on all these responsibilities, that a farmer is dependable and hard working.
So, Dodge made the Ram truck to take care of the farmer. Dodge would like you, the consumer, to
know that their Ram truck is also dependable and hard working, like a farmer. Because we the nation
rely on such a dependable individual to feed us, Dodge manufactured a dependable vehicle for the
farmer in order to fulfill his tasks. According to this commercial, the farmer is someone who can do all
these things, yet take care of his family, while supplying the nation with food and livestock. Dodge is
using this commercial as a way to associate the mighty farmer , who people depend on, with their
mighty truck, which is dependable for heavy farming needs. The commercial utilizes select
photographs, some of which feature a Dodge Ram truck being used on the farm, to portray the daily
life of a farmer. These pictures give us the impression that the truck is designed to be strong enough to
clear trees and heave bails , and yet provide a gentle enough ride for

This I Believe Essay
Life is all about change. It s pretty obvious to most of us that the corollary states that if you stop
changing, you are dead. Having said that it makes the job of describing my beliefs difficult. After all,
in a year I may see things very differently. When I look back at the things I have believed it is clear
that many have withered away, seemingly to make room for the growth of new ideas.
Perhaps this should discourage me from trying to form a personal philosophy but I can t be convinced
that the alternative is very attractive. How could I face each day without knowing what I value and
what I repudiate, both within myself and in the world at large.

Take a look at the people that you admire. Isn t it true to say that they clearly understand who they are
and what they stand for? Success doesn t always equate to admiration, at least in my experience. I take
great delight in a friend from my university days whose only notable achievement is to have a loving
marriage and be raising three wonderful children. A past workmate of mine who was very successful
and set to become even more so, made my list when she decided her job didn t match her soul and left
to become a Nun. There are heroes all around us, so be on the lookout.
As the child of a loving and secure family environment, the only danger I faced was the risk of
growing into a bland adult. I ve got nothing against mashed potato but if given the choice I will opt for
Cajun style crawdads every time. Just as a good chef knows it is the unique favours that define a dish,
it is equally true that we should cultivate the special attributes that define ourselves.
At this point a canny reader may be thinking that I am advocating a culture of freaks; far from it. What
could be more frustrating than watching a profound idea watered down and clouded by a mob of
people who chase the image by affecting its surface traits. Let s break it down further. Finding the core

Louis Biraille Accomplishments
Because of Louis Braille, the blind can read and write. People never thought that it would, or could,
ever happen. Louis Braille made a HUGE difference in the lives of blind people, starting in 1824
when he developed the 6 dot cell system. Even today he is still making a difference, such as the
Braille Olympics, where blind students use their braille skills in competitions. (Perkins) Louis Braille,
although was not born blind, created a system still being used today. Louis has become a major hero,
especially to the world of the blind. Louis childhood shaped the type of person he became later on.
Louis Braille was born in Coupvray, France in 1809. Then, when he was three years old, he wanted to
be like his father. He thought, I can do what my father can do, so he took an awl, a sharp tool to poke
holes into leather with, and tried to use it. But the awl slipped and stabbed him in the eye. He then
became blind in that eye. The now blind eye got an infection and it spread to his other eye making him
completely blind. He did very well in school, but he thought that it was too easy, he wanted a
challenge and to read books, so he went to an institute for the blind. But the ... Show more content on

Judaism follows the Ten Fundamental Principles which was derived from the Torah. The Torah is the
central reference of Judaism. The Jew s Torah is essentially the Christian s Bible. Although Judaism is
the main religion, it branches off into three denominations. These denominations include: orthodox,
conservative, and reform Judaism. Orthodox Judaism is then divided into modern orthodox and ultra
orthodox Judaism. Because Jews are often offended by the term ultra orthodox, they refer to
themselves as Haredi. An orthodox Jew is a person who follows the principles and practices of
traditional Judaism strictly. Modern orthodox Judaism is a orthodox practice that synthesizes Jewish
values and laws with the modern world, while an ultra orthodox, or Haredi Jew, distances themselves
from modern culture. Compared to orthodox Jews, conservative Jews adhere by the principles and
practices of traditional Judaism but allow some departure. Similar to orthodox Jews, conservative
Judaism once broke off into a branch called reconstructional Judaism. A reconstructionist Jew
followed the modern american movement that viewed Judaism as a progressively evolving civilization
rather than a religion during the late 1920s until the 1940s. This movement was based on the ideas of
Mordecai Kaplan, a rabbi, an essayist, and a Jewish educator. The final denomination is reform
Judaism. Reform Judaism is also known as liberal or progressive Judaism. Reform Judaism is the
abandonment of orthodox Jew aspects in order to adjust to modern changes in political, social, and
cultural life. Although the main goal of reform Judaism is to adjust to modern changes, the
denomination stills follows the moral lessons of the Torah. Because there are denominations that fit to
everybody s needs, it can be assumed that more people will convert to Judaism based on their desire to

The experts that are against spanking say that it is a violent act and teaches children that hitting is
okay. Pro spanking advocate, Dr. James Dobson, reprinted a very informative article by Dr. Den
Trumbull M.D. and Dr. S. DuBose Ravenel M.D. entitled To Spank or Not to Spank: A look at an age
old question that baffles many physicians. It states, There is no evidence in the medical literature that
a mild spank to the buttocks of a disobedient child by a loving parent teaches the child aggressive
behavior (Dobson, 2004, p. 127). Dr. Dobson also cited the doctors whose article said that it is
impractical to suppose that a child wouldn t show violent behavior if parents used other forms of
discipline rather than spanking. Most toddlers, who have yet to be spanked because of their age,
commonly strike out against others in aggravation. This is true of any toddler, seen out in public, who
throws a temper tantrum over not getting his way. Countless parents, frustrated themselves, simply
remove the child from making an undesirable scene. The only thing to do for a child of that age is to
remove temptation and distract the child with a toy or juice cup. As the toddler grows, distraction is
more difficult and the disciplining methods increase intensity. Some experts against spanking also

Essay About My Best Day
Have you at any point had an exceptionally paramount day that you wish you could remember those

only see each other once every eight months or so. The way these people were treated was abusive,
and all of it was inflicted upon them by Columbus and the Spaniards that were along with him. The
natives died by the thousands. For example, in 1515 there was about 50,000 natives and in 1550 there
was about five hundred. When any of the natives had tried to escape or run away they were hunted

grandmother got divorced, they couldn t even be in the same room together. Therefore, in order to be
able to spend time with both of them during the holidays we would need to have two of each holiday.
Christmas Eve is when we would have Christmas with my grandfather. Lasagna isn t just my favorite
meal because it tastes good, it is the memories of my grandfather s strength and fight that are
associated with it that makes the meal special. People often said that wherever my grandfather went he
always made new friends or enemies. This explains his personality perfectly, he always made an
everlasting impression, not afraid to voice his opinions. When I was around him he was always telling
stories about his days of playing minor league baseball under the Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota
Twins organizations or his days of being a K9 trooper for the New Hampshire State Police. He was
someone that I admired and loved being around. Some of the best memories are the ones where we are
sitting around the table on Christmas Eve eating our lasagna and munching on some garlic bread.
Everything changed when he became sick, but he was a fighter. My grandfather wasn t going to let the
lung cancer take

Phoenix County Budget Case Study
Getting control of a county s budget may be a difficult task. My mindset must transform in order to
control the county budget, which will result in a positive turnaround. Although our friends in Phoenix
County feel a negative effect of the way our county is run, it is still functioning. However, I would try
to familiarize some of the leadership aspects of Phoenix. Furthermore, spending less money not to
become bankrupt again would be ideal. Moreover, since no one has never succeeded in convincing
Maricopa to be a team, I m willing to try to work as a team to restore our budget. In return, this will
give Maricopa an advantage in gaining tourist attraction, being efficient and have financial
management.
The sheriff is the chief executive officer

My Most Favorite Time Of The Year At The Best Place
As August approaches, excitement runs through my veins. It s that time of year... I think to myself, My
most favorite time of the year at the best place. Mac s Landing Resort in Michigan is the hot spot for
my family and friends to have a great week of fun. The whole week is consumed with tubing, riding
the jetski, swimming, and relaxing on the beach at Arbutus Lake. This resort was my very first
vacation ever. I was only two weeks old the first time I went, and I don t remember a smidge of it.
Although I don t remember anything from when I was two weeks old, I remember and cherish the
memories I ve made since I was the age of seven. Ever since I had started school, this week of
vacation meant that I would miss the first week of school. I was always so excited to miss some of the
beginning of school. This time of the year excited me since it was vacation and I got to miss school.
My mom had always said, Missing a little school isn t going to hurt. It s a family vacation and they
will get over it. I always thought it was funny how she said would say this about me missing school.
Being on vacation is a lot more fun than being at school the first week. From days on the beach to
campfires, my cousins, my friends, and I enjoy many activities. My cousins, Allison, Jada, and
Lauren, helped to make this vacation mean something to me. We would play multiple games on the
beach. Some of them were King of the Raft and Categories, but one of my favorite that we made up

Gender Differences In The Help Movie
The help is a movie about race, gender and class inequalities in Jackson Mississippi during the 1960 s.
It is told from the point of view of a young writer named Skeeter. She was born into a middle class
family who s servants and maids are called The help and are exclusively African American and treated
as if they were diseased and below any white American. The maids did the cooking, cleaning and even
raising white children as if they were their own. Skeeter recognized this as a problem and decided she
wanted to write a book about the struggles of a black woman s experience being in service to white
women. Because of the laws set in place in the south to restrict maids and their sympathizers from
raising awareness to inequality, Aibileen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
African Americans are known to be stereotyped as uneducated, thieving, unclean and diseased. No
matter how untrue these characteristics are when pertaining to blacks they were still portrayed in the
film. The African American characters were portrayed as being uneducated through them using slang
and incorrect English. They were portrayed as thieves when a maid stole a ring after being turned
down for a loan to send her son to college. Blacks were perceived as unclean and diseased when Hilly
states that as her reasons for wanting separate bathrooms for the

Informative Speech On Hitler
Hi guys! I want to start my speech with this nice photo in my presentation. This photo shows that if
you had seen him when he was a child, you wouldn t think that he would be a destroyer, or even as
some people say: a killer of Jews. In 1889 there was a family with 8 members. Father s name was
Alois Hitler, mother s name was Klara Polzl. They had 6 children, 4th of them s name was Adolf
Hitler. They were living in Austria Hungary Empire, city of Branau Inn, this city situates now in
Austria. When Hitler was 3 years old family went to Passau city of Germany to live there. Klara Polzl
died of breast cancer when she was 47 and Hitler was only 18 years old. After that he didn t have any
money so he forced to live in homeless shelters. And ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It started in 1939 by invasion of Poland by German army. At that times Hitler was a Fuhrer of German
Empire. So, it means he was the highest person in Germany. He killed a lot of Jewish people during
WW the 2nd, that s why Jews hate him now. During the WW the 2nd, actually at the end of the war he
married to Eva Braun. She was the longtime companion of Hitler and actually first and last wife of
him. She was wife of Hitler for less than 40 hours. I know that sounds a little bit weird but it is fact. At
the end of the WW the 2nd he could invade 21 countries totally, I think that it is a huge number for an
Empire. I always admire Hitler because of his leadership. I don t understand why people think of him
only like a destroyer when they hear his name. Actually when I hear his name the first thing that
comes to my head is how he was brave, how he was a good commander, leader, he took a lot of
countries against himself. It needs bravery to do that so, that s why I admire him. Of course no one can
be perfect, everyone has positive and negative characteristics. Most people think that he was heartless
but it is not true, in some parts of his life he loved someone who was

Effects Of Shrooms On The Brain
Pedro Cervantes Jerusalem Miramontes Melissa Rendon Mr. Chang Chemistry B 29 May 2018
Research Topic: The Effects of LSD, DMT, and Shrooms on the Brain The purpose of this research
paper is to examine the different effects of different types of hallucinogenic drugs on the human brain.
The paper will focus specifically on LSD, DMT, and Shrooms as they are amongst the strongest types
of drugs in their category. The chemical structure of the different drugs and the way they alters
chemicals in the brain will be examined as well. This topic is worth investigating because if you or
anyone you know is interested in trying LSD, DMT, and Shrooms, it is important to know the effects
they will have on your brain if you are unaware or don t ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the hallucinations caused by the drug are short, the effect is almost instant. DMT is passing
through three barriers with the help of three different active transport mechanisms to be
compartmentalized and stored within the brain. With this process, high intracellular and vesicular
concentrations of DMT can be achieved within neurons. The outlined stages of uptake reveal that
considerable physiological effort is exerted for the accumulation and storage of DMT and suggest that
it has vital importance, since only a few compounds such as glucose and amino acids are known to be
treated with similar priority. These extensive specialized processes would not have evolved to target a
toxic compound or merely because of the psychedelic effects of DMT. DMT is a powerful and
psychologically dangerous drug because the trip is so strong for such a short amount of time the user
can actually lose sense of reality and experience seeing aliens or beings from another

  • 2. The Effects Of Violence On Groups And Out Groups This paper aimed to determine whether or not violence affected in groups and out groups. Specifically, the paper was looking at how and if violence affected divisions between in groups and out groups. The conductor(s) used the postwar community in Kosovo for the research and experiments. The researcher(s) found that violence does have an affect on in groups/out group divisions. The researcher(s) found that violence is shown to increase the division between in groups and out groups when the distinctions are already evident. Additionally, researcher(s) found that local communities that experience more violence were more uncertain of people outside their local communities. I think that this manuscript should be rejected because although the researcher(s) is missing a major true experiment component, there is not a good argument for causation over correlation, and the paper does not address the reliability and validity. The experiment used in this manuscript is very well put together and thoroughly explained. The researcher(s) gives a very detailed account of the experiment, as they should incase other researchers want to recreate the experiment. It is important that other researchers are able to recreate the experiment because it shows reliability. However I would recommend this paper for rejection because the experiment is lacking a control group. According to Bachman and Schutt (2013), true experiments must have at least one experimental group and one control group, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Aiming to check the reliability of the system and find possible pitfalls, some preliminary tests will be run, and the results will be analyzed. Once the reliability of the apparatus, repeatability of the process, and standard operating procedure are determined, the next phase of the project will be commenced. 5.2 Phase 2 In this phase, the experiments will be focused on single component and binary systems. Firstly, pure methane will be fed into the column and the adsorption process will be investigated. Afterwards, the same experiments at similar conditions will be carried out using pure water vapor. Based on the result of these experiments, a new set of experiments will be designed and carried out for binary systems (Methane and water vapor). Equilibrium and kinetics will be studied. Dynamic studies will be accomplished. Generally, the performance of Flax Shive and Oat Hulls in PSA process will be determined. 5.3 Phase 3 To further investigate the adsorption process, various isotherms will be fitted on the experimental data. Equilibrium capacity, uptake of species, diffusion constants, and selectivity will be calculated. Based on these results, the nature of the adsorption process will be determined. What did he do to achieve his aims? Was he happy with the end result of his actions? Pontius Pilate was the Roman Governor during the period of Jesus existence and is most commonly known as the judge of Jesus trial. Pilate was appointed prefect of the Roman provinces of Judaea, Samaria and Idumaea by the Roman Emperor, Tiberius in 26 AD. The title of a Roman prefect granted Pilate the power of a supreme judge that had the only authority to demand a criminal s execution. His crucial responsibility as a Roman prefect was maintaining law and order which it has been said to be accomplished through brute force if Pilate couldn t negotiate. However, I am not one of those crazy conspiracy theorists; I am only interested in ones that seem legit. All interesting conspiracy theories have similar qualities. A majority of them involve the government or celebrities. And depending on the theory, they are believable. My personal favorites all happen to involve the government, some classics included. It is said that 9/11 was an inside job perpetrated by Bush to purposely start a war with Afghanistan. Some survivors recall that they heard separate explosions at the time of the attacks, which has led people to believe that there were pre planted explosives inside the Twin Towers. It is a well known fact that the towers collapsed at one point, but this is seen as suspicious to many conspiracy theorists. A common known phrase among believers is jet fuel can t melt steel beams. Pillbugs are active during night but can be found during the day in the soil or under debris or between rocks. Pillbugs can reach a length of up to 18 mm when matured (Capinera, 2001). In this experiment, I investigated whether pillbugs are attracted towards a specific or different food types? Their age suggests limitations to what is seen as conventional markers of leadership, however they still have the ability to lead or influence others within a given context. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, and Edward Scissorhands all have a common message: appearances can be deceptive. Therefore, the cinematic technique of sound and color are essential ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another cinematic technique that Burton incorporates throughout his films is sound. Sound establishes the mood of the scene and complements the cinematic technique of color. For example, in Corpse Bride, Burton not only uses vibrant colors as a contrast to the real world but sounds as well. The scenes presented in the real world were very uptight and bland, however, in the underworld, we are given an array of different sounds and music, involving a lively band playing groovy music. This sets a mood of a lively vibe in comparison to the depressing mood in the real world which is also similar to Willy Wonka s factory in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The exterior scene displaying Willy Wonka s factory is silent and no music is heard. This leads to an assumption that Mr. Wonka is an isolated man, however, as the film progresses, it is presented that he is a unique and quirky individual. The songs made by the oompa loompas reflect his odd and creative character. This is yet again an example of a misunderstood character, similar to that of Edward in Edward Scissorhands. When Edward s castle comes into view, ominous music begins leaving the audience with an anxious or uneasy feeling. However, when Peg meets Edward in Pankovich 3 person, instead of scary music playing, an angelic choir is replaced giving a mood of the innocence of Edward. These are some of the many examples where Burton uses music to demonstrate that looks can be deceptive. By ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He then became blind in that eye. The now blind eye got an infection and it spread to his other eye making him completely blind. Orthodox Judaism is then divided into modern orthodox and ultra orthodox Judaism. Because Jews are often offended by the term ultra orthodox, they refer to themselves as Haredi. An orthodox Jew is a person who follows the principles and practices of traditional Judaism strictly. Modern orthodox Judaism is a orthodox practice that synthesizes Jewish values and laws with the modern world, while an ultra orthodox, or Haredi Jew, distances themselves from modern culture. It states, There is no evidence in the medical literature that a mild spank to the buttocks of a disobedient child by a loving parent teaches the child aggressive behavior (Dobson, 2004, p. 127). Dr. Dobson also cited the doctors whose article said that it is impractical to suppose that a child wouldn t show violent behavior if parents used other forms of discipline rather than spanking. Most toddlers, who have yet to be spanked because of their age, commonly strike out against others in aggravation. This is true of any toddler, seen out in public, who throws a temper tantrum over not getting his way. Countless parents, frustrated themselves, simply remove the child from making an undesirable scene. She was wife of Hitler for less than 40 hours. I know that sounds a little bit weird but it is fact. At the end of the WW the 2nd he could invade 21 countries totally, I think that it is a huge number for an Empire. I always admire Hitler because of his leadership. I don t understand why people think of him only like a destroyer when they hear his name. DMT is passing through three barriers with the help of three different active transport mechanisms to be compartmentalized and stored within the brain. With this process, high intracellular and vesicular concentrations of DMT can be achieved within neurons. The outlined stages of uptake reveal that considerable physiological effort is exerted for the accumulation and storage of DMT and suggest that it has vital importance, since only a few compounds such as glucose and amino acids are known to be treated with similar priority. These extensive specialized processes would not have evolved to target a toxic compound or merely because of the psychedelic effects of DMT. DMT is a powerful and psychologically dangerous drug because the trip is so strong for such a short amount of time the user can actually lose sense of reality and experience seeing aliens or beings from another ...
