MAINTENANCE
AND INSPECTION
Ensure your laboratory fume hood receives
routine maintenance and inspection to identify
any potential issues with airflow, seals, or
mechanical components. Regular checks help
prevent malfunctions and maintain optimal safety
and efficiency.
PROPER USE AND
TRAINING
Train laboratory personnel on the correct use of
the fume hood, including proper techniques for
setting up experiments, positioning equipment,
and adjusting airflow settings. Emphasize the
importance of keeping the sash closed when not
in use to maintain containment and prevent
exposure to hazardous fumes.
OPTIMIZE
AIRFLOW AND
CONTAINMENT
Adjust the airflow velocity and sash position
according to the specific requirements of the
experiment or procedure being conducted. Keep
the sash at the recommended height to maintain
adequate containment while allowing for
