Descriptive Essay On Pleasant Memory
Pleasant Memory Think about a time that you have been really jubilant, a pleasant memory you have.
Whether that memory was with friends, family, on a school trip or at home, we have all had at least
one time where we have been just ecstatic. For me, one of my joyous memories is my trip to the
Bahamas. To explain my vacation and why it was so delightful, I ll break it up into three parts. First,
the plane ride there, then my actual time at Paradise Island and lastly, the plane ride home. So, first for
the plane ride there. Although we had to leave for the airport pretty early in the morning, around three
or four a.m., I was still so excited to go to Paradise Island. My parents had been there before due to it
being a free trip from father s workplace. They brought back souvenirs and told me all about the trip
and I was eager to go and now I was finally able to. The worst part about the ride there was actually
the wait to get on the plane. I did not have much fun at the airport but, we were only there for a few
hours so it ended up being fine. I was a little nervous, but mostly excited to get on the plane not only
because it was taking me to the Bahamas, but it was also my first time on a plane that I can actually
remember. While on the plane I loved looking out the window and just gazing at the view. I enjoyed
the view but, since I did get up early to get to the airport, I did end up sleeping through some of the
flight. After hours of being on my phone, sipping on soda and

Women Are The Victims Of War
Human rights are not only violated by terrorism, repression or assassination, but also by unfair
economic structures that create huge inequalities (Pope Francis). Just as women are victims of
economic systems, they are also the victims of many, if not most, acts of terrorism and violence. These
can include domestic violence, sexual slavery, emotional abuse, human trafficking, etc. In these
ceaseless cases of oppression and violence, women and children bear the brunt of it all. In short, they
are the casualties of war. The spoils of war. The victims of war. Two prominent ongoing acts of
conflict which impact women are ISIS s widespread regime and domestic violence in Papua New
Guinea. Both these events emphasize the dire situations women ... Show more content on

As a result, they find the sex slavery system established by ISIS very appealing and are more willing
to support ISIS in order to reap personal benefits. Thus, ISIS uses systematic slavery and rape of
young girls and women to gain more momentum and support. Their justification for such
inhumaneness? The Koran permits Muslim men to have more than one wife along with sex slaves. In
fact, ISIS lures the women into their system by convincing them that they are pleasing God through
their actions and decisions. Overall, women in Syria, Iraq, Iran, Jordon, and Lebanon face rape, forced
marriage, abuse, forced religious conversions, and being treated as currency in order to further a group
that only seeks to pulverize women, non Muslims, and anyone else that prevents the domination of
their men.
Another astoundingly important issue the media fails to cover daily is the domestic violence in Papua
New Guinea that has reached its highest point in 2015. In 1992 family violence occurred in about two
thirds of the households in Papua New Guinea; however, the numbers today are unreported and
unaccounted for because the government fails to keep track of a severe issue affecting most women in
the country. In a 2013 survey 80 percent of men reported that they had enacted some form of abuse on
their partner(s) at some point. Through all this, the police do not take an active part in helping victims

Analysis Of Moonlight By Barry Jenkins
Moonlight
Moonlight is a coming of age film released in October 21st, 2016, in the United States. It was written
and directed by Barry Jenkins, and based on Tarell Alvin McCraney s unpublished semi
autobiographical play In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue. The movie won Best Motion Picture in
the 74th Golden Globe Awards as well as Best Picture in the 2017 Academy Awards. It became the
first film with an all Black cast, and the first LGBTQ film to win Best Picture. The film divides in
three parts, Little , Chiron , and Black . It follows the infant, teenager, and adult life of Chiron, a gay
Black boy in Liberty City, Miami, Florida.
The film starts with Juan, a Cuban drug dealer, talking to other drug dealers on the street when
suddenly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This part of the film focuses on Chiron and Kevin starting to develop romantic feelings for each other,
and on how they deal with that. Chiron also has to deal with his mother, who has became a prostitute
in order to acquire money to buy drugs.
Finally, in the third part of the movie, the audience sees Chiron as a full grown adult that goes by the
nickname Black and lives in Atlanta. He is fully aware of his sexuality, but tries to repress it. Although
his physical appearance has changed, he still is that same boy that barely talks. He is now on the
streets involved in the drug business. Unfortunately, him and Kevin are not together and do not talk.
One night, though, Chiron gets a call from Kevin. Kevin talks about his life and asks Chiron how is
his. Kevin also tells Chiron that he should go visit Miami one day, saying that he would cook for him,
since he works in a restaurant now. Chiron decides to go, but first he visits his mother who is in a
rehabilitation center. Since the both of them do not have a good relationship, his mother tries to
apologize, and Chiron seems to forgive her. Chiron then meets with Kevin, who fulfills his promise of
cooking for him. They talk about what has happened throughout the years as well as their past lives as
teenagers. They go to Kevin s house, and then the movie finishes with an unclear ending.
I tried not to give a lot of spoilers of the movie because I would recommend

Research Paper on Gregory Rasputin
Grigori Rasputin was not a very great person in history. A great person in history does good and
important things for his people, country and the world. Early Life and Family: Grigori Efimovich
Rasputin was born on January 10, between 1864 1872, along the Tura River in the village of
Pokrovskoye. Rasputin was married to Praskovia Fyodorovna in 1889. His mother was Anna Egrovna
and his father was Efim Rasputin. Grigori had three children with Praskovia, named Varya, Maria and
Dmitry. Because of his constant drunkenness and sexual appetite, the people of Pokrovskoye resented
Rasputin. He grew tired of peasant life and in 1901, left behind his family and home in Siberia as a

The Tsarina, Alexandra, believed God spoke to her through Rasputin. This influence over the royal
family gave Rasputin power over the church of Russia. Later, a woman named Khioniya Guseva
attempted to murder Rasputin shouting she had ?killed the antichrist.? Rasputin would come to be
known as the most popular and published monk in Russian history. Relations With The Royal Family
and The Revolution: In St. Petersburg, Rasputin would meet Anna Vyrubova, one of Alexandra?s
closest friends. Through Anna, Rasputin was summoned to heal Alexandra?s son Alexis, who was a
hemophiliac, in 1905. Rasputin was able to cure Alexis? bleeding with his ?holy powers.? When
Alexis fully recovered, Rasputin gained the trust of the Tsar and Tsarina. Because Alexis? hemophilia
was so easily agitated, Rasputin was called multiple times to heal Alexis and through hypnosis, was
able to heal him every time. Little did the Tsar and Tsarina know that Rasputin would ultimately lead
to the downfall of the royal family. The Tsar saw Rasputin as a trustworthy friend to his family and
himself. Unfortunately, WWI made its way to Russia in 1914, and Rasputin urged the Tsar not to go to

like an epidemic, about Rasputin?s amount of power over the country and his debatable relationship
with Alexandra. In his drunken state, Rasputin was recorded saying he had the tsar

Seizures Essay
The Care of Seizure Patients Many people who have had a seizure disorders can have an ordinary life
while others may need the help of an aide. In an article by the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan, they
state, Living with epilepsy is often associated with fear: fear of having a seizure in public, fear of
injury, fear of losing one s job, fear of dying, and many other legitimate fears. With the help of an
aide, the patient may be able to overcome some fears associated with the seizure disorder. There is a
process of taking care of someone with a seizure disorder, which can improve their quality of life and
provide them with the support they need. The first step in taking care of a person with a seizure

The Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut states, Seizure drugs could effectively be withdrawn in 24
60% of patients with epilepsy who are seizure free for a minimum of 2 years. Taking their pills at a
specific time each day is essential to their health because it can help them have a better life and be
seizure free. Next, it is important for the caregiver to protect the patient from injury during a seizure
episode. This protection will help to ensure that the person having the seizure will fall and be guided
gently to the floor. It is essential to move anything that might cause further injury to the person during
the seizure. If the patient is already on the floor, do not try to hold the person down or move the
person because that can cause further injuries. Turning the patient on their side during a seizure will
help keep their airway clear of any fluids that they may produce during the seizure. After a seizure
episode, the aide will check to see if the person has any injuries or if the person is having trouble
breathing. If there is an obstruction in the airway they can use their fingers to clear the mouth of vomit
or saliva. It is possible that the person may be sleepy or confused about where they are once they
come out of the seizure, but the caretaker will need to stay with the

Irony Of Empathy In Raymond Carver s Cathedral

Looking beyond Empathy is the ability to understand and vicariously share the feelings and thoughts
of other people. Empathic feelings are fundamental for humans in social and interpersonal life because
they enable human beings to tune their mental states to their social environment as well as to
understand others intentions, actions, and behaviors. In particular, empathy for pain is a source of deep
emotional feelings and a strong trigger of prosocial behavior. In the fictional short Cathedral , written
by Raymond Carver, the author cast significant irony: a narrator who ignorantly disdains blindness

Comparing The English Civil War And The Glorious Revolution
While John Locke was writing both the Second Treatise of Government and A Letter Concerning
Toleration there were two influences that were his inspiration for those two writings. The English
Civil War (1642 1649) and The Glorious Revolution (1688 1689). The Civil War because of
disconnect between the people and the monarchy. The Glorious Revolution was a bloodless war that
installed William III and Mary II into power in France and he was very religious in his roman catholic
believes. Locks writing stresses two different aspects involving the issues he saw from these two
events and how they should be fixed.
First let get a background on Mr. Locke. Growing up during the middle of the English Civil War, his
views were heavily influenced by his father who fought with parliament against the Monarchy. He

He believes that the legislative branch is the most important part of the English government. Their
power, in the utmost bounds of it, is limited to the public good of society (pg. 746). Where instead of
the law makers only making laws to benefit themselves, they should do what is best for the
commonwealth. Locke continues to stay that the legislative s power should come from the
commonwealth. It is true, governments cannot be supported without great charge, and it is fit every
one who enjoys his share of the protection, should pay out of his estate his proportion for the
maintenance of it (pg. 749). Locke states that if someone partakes in the protection and services of the
government, they should pay takes in order to help the government. This makes sense, if someone
reeks the benefits that the government offers them, than we should contribute to the government. Even
if we were or weren t born in this country, we are old enough to make our decisions so if we do not
approve what our government is doing we have one of three options. Act and make changes, leave, or

Facebook Has Changed The Way People Communicate With Each...
Facebook, a social networking website, has changed the way people communicate with each other. A
social networking website is an online platform that allows users to create a public profile and interact
with other users on the website. Facebook has even changed our most personal and private
conversations and how they are conducted around the world. Since the internet s birth in 1983, this
trend of online communication has been growing. Created in 2004, now registered with more than one
billion participants, Facebook s user numbers surpass even the top four social networking websites
combined. According to Wikipedia statistics, Instagram has 300 million registered users, LinkedIn has
200 million users, Classmates.com has 50 million users, and Flickr has 32 million registered users. To
be further convinced of the claim that Facebook indeed changes the way we communicate, you would
only need to create your own Facebook account and start participating in their social networking
experience. Technology and internet usage is fused into every aspect of our society including the style
of communication. The launch of Facebook in 2006 also enabled other devices such as touch phones,
interactive tablets, and even advanced cars with their own networking capabilities starting in 2007.
Facebook is a multibillion dollar company and is highly recognized for connecting more people than
other networks. Facebook s long term success can be attributed to providing entertainment, world

Cloning Ethical And Moral Dilemma
Cloning an Ethical and Moral Dilemma
Scott Blakley Jr.

Cloning an Ethical and Moral Dilemma Science has been plagued with the limits of ethics and morals
of the people that fail to see the bigger picture that research can help to bring great things to the world.
Cloning is one of the major fields that are affected by closed minded beliefs and laws that prohibit
research. Should the search for finding medicine that could save lives and the chance for people to
have healthy offspring be denied because of the misconceptions of different generations? Cloning
should be allowed because of the medical benefits that it provides, the only way that it can become
more ethical is with research to find the best techniques, and yet none of this is possible because of the
laws that restrict the research. Cloning is an ethical and moral dilemma as it pertains to how we view
not only the lives of people but in fact what we can and cannot do with our own bodies. Many see
cloning as people trying to play god with others lives. This comes from the creation of life and then
the use of the life that was created. Similar to abortion we have to define the meaning of what it means
to be a person and whether or not they should be considered equal. Some may say yes declaring that a
person is equal to another because we are both human. This has not been the case though for a great
deal of people. Examples of this are wide and varied from

The Enduring Love Play Analysis
THE LAND ABOVE presents as a historical character driven drama. The script offers an excellent
main protagonist, whose life story is both dramatic and fascinating, thus providing a great potential for
an interesting biopic.
The story also provides some memorable combat scenes and shows a strong potential for compelling
visual portrayal.
Nevertheless, the overall dramatic premise with George Washington trying to demythologize himself
has room for more development in the areas of the structure and pace, as well as further character
development.
Unfortunately, the main plot is distracted by a multitude of subplots, characters, and events many
more than feels manageable within a feature film. As result, the overall pacing of the story often ...

Clarify what is the main theme/morale of the story. What is the lesson to be learnt by the character?
Depending on the definition of the focus in character s journey, the structure should reflect the change
he is about to undergo. For example, if Washington is to change from naïve boy into independent man
(who will place a significant role in creation of independent country) he needs to learn the truth about
political ambitions of the English, starting at perceiving them as allies in the beginning and continue to
show their true colors as the story progresses. As things stand, the English seem to behave the same
way throughout the story without a change.
The current script version suggests the story is to explain how the legend about the 1st US president
came to be and his own attempt to demythologize his own story. The story would need to provide
more clues as to what is the motivation behind this, as well as more information for audience to
compare the reality with fabrication of his imagination.
The first words the hero says should preferably be related to this main

Smoking During Pregnancy can at least be Linked to...
Many would argue that childbirth is a beautiful and miraculous event, however the process of the
pregnancy is a very fragile time in the mother s life. During this time most everyone would agree that
the mother should attempt to do everything that is possible to take care of her body. There are some
habits, however, that an extremely difficult to break, even during a pregnancy. The practice of
smoking tobacco is one of those habits. Many doctors would argue that smoking is never healthy for
the body especially during a pregnancy. For years institutions have sought to produce statistical data to
uncover the effects of smoking during a pregnancy. Even with the changing times, statistical studies
on this topic, continue to produce the same conclusions. In 1965, the Department of Obstetrics and
Gynecology at Palo Alto Medical Clinic in California, published a study of the pregnancy data of
5,659 women, who received care at their facilities from 1952 to 1958 (Downing) . This study recorded
the end results of each pregnancy for both smokers, of which there were 2,630, and non smokers, of
which there were 3,029 (Downing). This study found mixed results within different types of
pregnancy complications. The study found that there were 88 premature births in smokers, compared
to 66 in non smokers (Downing). At the same time there were more of both abortions and post natal
deaths in non smokers than in smokers. Chart 1 A illustrates the comparison of the pregnancies of both

The Legalization Of Marijuana
This proposal would eliminate marijuana from the Control Substance Act and it would no longer be
categorized as a Schedule 1 substance. The proposal would also require a federal permit for growing
and distributing marijuana within state and national borders. The last aspect of the proposal would
require for marijuana to be regulated exactly like alcohol by the Food and Drug Administration as well
as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tabaco, Firearms, and Explosives. Both of these proposals are probable
options for the United States, but the key question they must answer is: Should marijuana be a
national issue or a states issue? When discussing current marijuana policy they are certain rules put in
place, which criminalize marijuana. Stone states ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of these factors cause a negative reaction by the public because they begin to feel untrustworthy of
their national government and it makes even more difficult to enforce these rules. The United States
must change their marijuana policy (rules) to something that utilizes proper scientific research; so the
public can feel that the rules put in place have some legitimacy. Even if they don t completely agree
with the policy, they will have to at least perceive the law in a more positive light. One example is the
restriction of texting while you drive; there is a portion of the public that doesn t agree with this
policy, but at the very least they are able to view the legitimacy of it because of the proper research
that is utilized. So the national government should ask itself, if their current marijuana policy has a
level of legitimacy? At the very least another question that could be asked is whether or not we have
the natural right to have access to medical marijuana. Stone discusses normative rights or rights that
cannot be given to you by the government, instead they come from religion, ideology, or natural law.
In the United States we have the unalienable rights, which consists of life, liberty, and the pursuit of
happiness. If this holds to be true, then the United States should not be allowed to

Theme Of The Lamb To The Slaughter By Roald Dahl
Roald Dahl has successfully presented creepy moments and ideas in his writing by the very
uncommon, but realistic scenarios the characters are put in, word choice, and character development.
The author gives very little background information at the beginning of the story causing the reader to
be surprised with how the characters develop throughout the story. One way the author has presented
scary ideas was by putting the characters in scenarios that are possible to happen to anyone, yet they
are very unlikely. In The Landlady, the main character is your average businessman just looking for a
place to stay for the night in a town he s not familiar with. He decides to stay in a bed and breakfast
ran by an old lady who keeps her guests ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She was just going home with the vegetables on Thursday evening to cook dinner for her husband.
The reader knows the real story, in which that one is not true. This is creepy because now there is
suspense toward whether or not she is going to get away with the story she tells everyone.
Comparatively, the author presents menacing and fearsome ideas by character development. In The
Landlady, the woman presents herself and a very pleasurable, harmless soul. The text says, ..she gave
him a warm welcoming smile. Toward the end, she keeps that eerie smile, but she starts to give hints
letting him know that she s going to kill him. Throughout the story she mentions Mr Mulholland and
Mr Perkins staying in her bed and breakfast. The text says, .. she looked up at him out of the corners
of her eyes and gave him another gentle little smile. No, my dear, she said Only you. The way this
developed in a creepy way was because she was giving vague answers, making it seem like the two
men she killed, were alive and in their rooms. In Lamb to the Slaughter, the main character is six
months pregnant and married. When the police come to search for evidence, they eat it. The police
were unforeseeable, assuming the lady who offered them to stay for dinner, wouldn t be a suspect of
killing the man who is pregnant with her child. This is scary because not only is there a killer on the
loose, but they will never find out it was her because there is no evidence due

Hiroshima The stories and events that unfold in John Hersey s, Hiroshima, have certainly been eye
openers for me. As a child in middle school and high school I, we have all heard of the atomic bomb
and of course of Hiroshima, but never in as much detail or on such a personal level as these stories.
Not even in chemistry or physics class, where I learned some of the specifics as to how the bomb
works, had I known of the destructive force of the bomb or it s gruesome effects on human beings. As
I mentioned before, this book was quite an eye opener for me because it has taught me just how
deadly nuclear weapons can be not only on material properties, but on human beings, and why nuclear
weapons must never again be used is such a way. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first story of the book we hear is that of the Reverend Tanimoto. He is dropping off some goods at
a friend s house for safekeeping some 3,500 yards, or two miles, away from the center of the
explosion and that house crumbles to the ground from the force of the blast. That seems so amazing to
me because in such a huge city, most of the time, you cannot even see two miles away. It may be
difficult for most people to appreciate the force of a bomb that can destroy something two miles away,
but most airplane bombs only destroy things within about 100 yards. That would be everything within
a football field completely wiped out, now imagine something that could level everything within 35
football fields!
The book also accounts just how much pressure the bomb exerted and how hot the bomb blast was
according to scientists of the time. These were two other awesome statistics. The pressure of the blast
was estimated to be somewhere between 5.3 to 8 tons per square yard. A yard is slightly larger than a
person s arm and most people cannot lift more than a hundred pounds on one arm. Imagine having
over 10,000 pounds, or five tons, of pressure being exerted on your arms? It s almost unbelievable.
The heat given off by the blast is just as astonishing a number as the pressure. There was evidence that
clay tiles, whose melting point is thirteen times hotter than that of the boiling point of water, had

Opportunities and Threats facing the U.S Airline Industry
The health of the overall U.S airline industry is still tenuous in spite of the passenger traffic volumes
returning to pre 9/11 levels. A survey estimated that from 2001 through 2003, the US airline industry
reported to have lost $23.2 billion dollars, compounded by an additional $1.6 billion in the first
quarter of 2004. This $24.8 billion shortfall exceeds the total profits earned over the entire six year
period 1995 2000
Drastic changes in the Economic, Political/legal and technological segment of airline s external
environment contributed to some of the major looses seen by the industry. The key factors that heavily

A recent survey of the airline economic health suggested that even though the industry hoped to return
to some degree of stability, if not profitability, yet new costs beyond the airlines control wiped out
recent efforts to cut costs and achieve new efficiencies. Record high oil prices and nation s on going
war on terrorism have presented new barriers to improving the industry s financial health.
Another cost factor that is heavily contributing to the overall cost is the Aviation Security
Infrastructure fee (ASIF). This fee is enforced after Congress passed the Aviation and Transportation
Security Act (ATSA) which necessitated additional security at the airports. This fee is expected to rise
to $750million in 2005 from $315 million in 2000. This fee is in additional to the additional federal
security mandates imposed since 9/11. The industry argues that impact of federal security mandate and
foregone revenue totals $2.8 billion per year.
The statute that directs FAA to extend war risk insurance to U.S airlines and air cargo carriers is set to

Nefertiti Book Report
Nefertiti by Michelle Moran is an entertaining book about the famous Royal Wife of Akhenaten. The
novel is told from the point of view of Nefertiti s little sister, Mutnodjmet. It begins immediately
before Nefertiti is chosen to become Akhenaten s Chief Wife. The book follows Nefertiti and her
family throughout their life as the royal family in Memphis and then transitioning into the move to
Amarna. The story stops only after the death of Nefertiti and Meritaten and the crowning of
Tutankhamun as Pharaoh of Egypt. Moran captures a Nefertiti that is ambitious, powerful, and
sometimes scared. Nefertiti is thrown into the royal family as a teenager and was told to try and
control the heretic Pharaoh, Akhenaten. At many times, the reader gets a glimpse of that worried and
terrified young girl, but throughout most of the novel, Nefertiti is portrayed to be a strong and
controlling Chief Wife of the Pharaoh. The author shows the fights between Nefertiti and her family as
she goes against what they want by supporting Akhenaten and his religious views. Moran tells about

The Pros and Cons of the Neolithic Revolution Essay
Introduction
In the 1930 s, V. Gordon Childe proposed that the shift to food production was one of the two major
events in human history that improved the condition of human societies. Childe described the origins
of agriculture as a 哲eolithic Revolution. But the shift from hunting and gathering to food production
was not as advantageous to humanity as Childe believed. Although there were benefits, there were
also serious drawbacks, and humans paid a price for the advantages of agriculture.
The Neolithic, the period in history in which food production became widespread, began around
10,200 B.C, first appearing in Southwest Asia, and lasted until 4000 to 2200 B.C. The cultivation of
vegetables and domestication was becoming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

communities could support some people as artists and priests. Catal Hyuk is an example of astounding

Metalurgy first made an appearance in Europe during the Neolithic. (Levack et al 2009:16)
Architecture improved and in many areas dwellings were made with sturdy supplies like stone and
brick. Some villages, particularly in Southwest Asia, were surrounded by impressive stone walls for
protection against enemies. (Leonard 1973:18)
Disadvantages of Food Production
Sanitation and Disease
People living in sedentary villages in the Neolithic experienced worsened health and mortality.
Sedentary life brought with it sanitation problems like garbage and human waste accumulate, which
contributed to disease. The close association between humans and animals was also key to the

The City Of Arlington And The Boys And Girls Club Essay
Introduction and Background
In 1986, the City of Arlington and the Boys and Girls Club of Arlington established the Arlington Teen
Court. It works in conjunction with the Arlington Municipal Court and is considered a specialized
court for youth. The program was designed to prevent teens between the ages of 14 to 18, from
developing a pattern of committing crimes. It aimed to reduce teen offenses, allow teens to be held
accountable for their actions, and to educate teens on the justice system.
The City of Arlington Teen Court program offers first time teen offenders who commit misdemeanors
(class C) crimes an alternative to traditional juvenile courts. Some violations include driving over the
speed limit, fighting in public, theft under $200.00 dollars, possession of drugs and/or alcohol, etc.
The program is voluntary and it provides teen offenders the opportunity to avoid trial; thus preventing
an arrest on his/her permanent record.
Stakeholders believe that teens who participate in the program will have the knowledge and skills to
go on and live a productive life as a responsible adult, family member, citizen, and member of the
community.
Primary clients and stakeholders involved in the program are: teens, parents, volunteers, schools the
teen court coordinator Tamisha Fletcher, judges, Teen Court Advisory Board, City of Arlington
officials, and the community service agencies who provide work for teens to complete community
service hours. The program s success depends on

Hatshepsut was born in 1507 BC.
She was born to Thutmose I and Ahmose.

In Egypt, the tradition is that the woman is only the wife, nothing else.
Hatshepsut married her half brother, son of Thutmose I and his secondary wife, Mutnofret, when she
was about twelve years old. His name was also Thutmose, making him Thutmose II.
She was married to her half brother in order to make his reign more legitimate, since he was only the
son of a secondary wife and not the queen.
They had a daughter named Neferure.
Thutmose II died after about 14 years of rule.
The throne went to another son named Thutmose, who was born to Thutmose II and one of his

Goods and/or Services to be Provided
To help with rising number of people illegally entering the United States from Mexico, the
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) decided it needed better surveillance along its borders. It
has made a decision to award a contract to See All Surveillance Technologies, a contractor that
supplies high tech surveillance products. See All Surveillance Technologies will be providing the DHS
with the construction of watch towers along the border of Mexico and the states of Texas and Arizona.
The towers, which are pre fabricated, will be strategically placed along these borders according to the
terrain. They will be equipped with high tech cameras, day and night vision goggles, and ground
penetrating radar. See All Surveillance Technologies will also train the personnel who will be working
the towers, how to operate the surveillance equipment.

Essay on John Cheever Suburban Life
5 April 2006
John Cheever and the Suburban Life The average person from suburban America can be either valiant,
pathetic, or both. This is the description of an American suburbanite according to John Cheever, an
American novelist and short story writer during the fifties, sixties, and seventies. Cheever, an award
winning writer, balances hope, uncertainty, and anxiety in his stories characters. In Cheever s The
Swimmer , the main character, Neddy Merrill, incorporates this description into his actions. The
actions of Neddy Merrill can be compared to those of Francis Weed, the main character of Cheever s

through each pool in his county in order to swim home . This liveliness can be compared to John
Cheever and his writing style. In reference to Cheever, Samuel Coale, a critic, states that, He does not
attempt to penetrate the darker and desperate depths of life but eagerly delights in the absurdities and
arcane episodes of life (Coale 103). Cheever will always make the reader aware of his style of writing.
It is so different from others that it is easily recognized through his characters actions and problems.
This rare writing style is also evident in Cheever s The Country Husband . Cheever uses descriptions
so rare in his text that makes it evident it is his writing. In the short story, The Country Husband ,
Cheever uniquely describes the night, Then it is dark; it is a night where kings in golden suits ride
elephants over the mountains (Cheever 518). The main character, Francis Weed, is another
suburbanite, and in reference to Coale s thoughts on Cheever s writing, Cheever again does not show
the bad side to life, but instead shows the positive aspect of it. As Francis Weed barely cheats death
after a plane crash that nearly takes his life, he begins to look on the brighter side of his life. The

Arundel Partners Investment Analysis Essay
Arundel Partners Investment Analysis
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Background
The proposed business venture, Arundel Partners, is an investment group which would purchase the
sequels rights associated with all films produced by 1 or more selected U.S. movie production studios
for a specified period of time, or a specified number of films. As your investment analysts, our goal is
to assess the value of the sequel rights to allow a determination of the value of the overall investment
as well as a reasonable price per film for the sequel rights.

A sequel is typically released to theaters 3 years after the orignal film s initial release. Sequel rights
also expire 3 years from the films initial release. Note that Arundel must declare, based on the
profitability of the first release, whether or not it will produce the sequel, prior to the expiration of the
rights at year 4.
RECOMMENDATION
Based on our valuation of the investment, as outlined below in the Analysis portion of the report, we
have determined a per movie value of $8.9 million when considering purchasing the rights to the
entire portfolio of 99 movies analyzed in the sample data. Based on production of 10 sequels, the per
movie value of the portfolio would be $52.25 million. Our calculations based on the hypothetical
portfolio is that Arundel Partners should make this investment as long as the present value of the
expected cash flows from the sequel revenues exceeds the cost of production plus the cost of the
investment. Depending on what value a studio will accept as payment per sequel, there appears to be
significant profitability in the investment.
ANALYSIS
As with all options there is more potential profit if the value of the underlying asset is very volatile.
Purchasing sequel rights prior to release of the films

Integrative And Analytical Tools For The Business
Integrative and Analytical Tools To be successful in any modern business there are a few things that
must take place. The company has to get oriented; it needs to identify the primary objectives of the
business, as well as define the scope, and finally perform both internal and external analysis of the
operations. Each of these things has their place and since our company is one of the best out there, the
first three have already been established. What we are here today to do is to perform the analysis
portion. There are many different forms of analysis tools for the company to choose from. Some of the
heavy hitters are the SWOT or strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threat tool. The MOST
analysis tool focuses on the mission, the objectives, the strategies and the tactics in order for the
company to meet its needs. The last tool that will be discussed here is the PEST analytical tool. PEST
stands for political, economic, sociological, and technological. Breaking each one of these into more
details can show the level of value each one has in the analytical world. The SWOT analysis is most
often used in the beginning stages of a company. The main area of focus is the external and internal
factors to identify where the best opportunities for improvement are. The SWOT tool also helps point
out danger areas and where improvements can be made. The first area the tool analyze are the
company s strength. This is where your company has an advantage over the

says Saul and his men heard what Goliath said, but they were so frightened of Goliath that they couldn

difference is by when Goliath says if I kill the Israelites soldier and David is going to be the soldier, so

Common House Construction Of Houses In The Aztecs
The Aztecs dwellings tended to be built on a similar pattern in the empire (though smaller for the
poorer classes and larger for the nobles), there were several variations on the theme. Some houses
would have flat pole roofs, others peaked roofs. Though it was common for houses to be built right on
the ground, some were built on platform.
Materials included in common house construction included straw, wood, stone, sand, lime, and clay.
Straw would often be used for the construction of roofs. Adobe bricks, very common in the
construction of houses in the Aztec empire, would be made from water, sand, clay, and a material such
as straw. The name translates to dried brick in Spanish. Floors might be dirt, stone, or plastered.

Subject: Role of Internal Audit
It has come to my attention that the role of internal audit is not clear to some members of the
organization outside the finance department. Therefore, it was decided that a memo is written to
explain clearly the role of internal audit.
Internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and consulting function intended to add value
and improve an organization s operations. The audit function can help an organization to achieve
objectives by evaluating an organizations risk management, control and governance processes to help
improve them.
Internal auditors (IA) assess how well risks are being managed in an organization, how the
organization is being governed and how well internal control systems and processes are working.
They report their findings to senior management, highlighting and advising management where
improvements in systems controls and processes are necessary.
By evaluating an organization s risk management and assisting management in improvement of
internal controls, IA s help management to clearly show stakeholders that they are managing the
organization well.
Different from external auditors, IA s work within an organization and their work can vary depending
on the business requirements. They do not only look at financial risks and statements but at a range of
issues that are key to a company s survival

The new Pharaoh s council was called about the situation with the Israelites and they gave him strong
advice to enslave the children of Israel so he could gain total control over this foreign race who were
becoming too powerful in a land where they were not wanted. Pharaoh limited the freedom of the
Hebrews and laid heavy taxes upon them. He then recruited their men into forced labour, slavery,
under the supervision of harsh taskmasters.
The children of Israel were now forced to build cities, erect monuments, construct roads, work in the
quarries, and hew stones or make bricks and tiles. However, the more the Egyptians oppressed them,
and the harder the restrictions imposed upon them became, the more the children of Israel multiplied.
Finally, when King Pharaoh saw that forcing the Hebrews to do hard work did not succeed in
suppressing their rapidly growing numbers, he ordered that all newly born male children of the
Hebrews to be killed, the midwives disobeyed and so they were made to throw the child into the Nile

Teen Stereotypes
In the United States teenage pregnancy outside of marriage is labeled as a social problem. Society
views young, poor, single teenage mothers as an liability and not an asset. Teenage mothers are
stereotyped as (a) welfare dependent (b) irresponsible (c) lazy (d) ignorant and (e) promiscuous.
However, the majority of society believes that their taxes were higher because of government benefits
that teenage mothers and their babies receive. The negative stereotype regarding teenage pregnancy in
society can be very damaging and discouraging to a young mother who simply made a mistake but

Analysis Of Bacon Rebellion
Brice Everson Mrs. Blomme Honors I 30 September 2014 Bacon s Rebellion The definition of
courage as defined by Dictionary.com is the ability to do something that frightens one. A rebellion
takes courage. It s not something the average human being can do. One cannot simply expect just
anyone to verbally stand up for what they believe is right. Courage is not something found in a
common human being. Sure, everyone has it somewhere deep down, but as for that select group of
people who aren t afraid to stand up for what they believe is right: They are the ones that make a
difference. Nathaniel Bacon wasn t by any means a great man but he definitely wasn t afraid to take
charge of a situation that involved him, directly or indirectly, and stand up for himself. He was the
type of relentless figure that made a difference in history because he had one thing we all strive to
have: Courage. Bacon s Rebellion, also known as the Virginia Rebellion, took place in Jamestown,
Virginia in 1676. Bacon s Rebellion was probably one of the most confusing yet intriguing chapters in
Jamestown s history (McCulley). This rebellion is considered to be the first stirring of revolutionary
sentiment in America,...(McCulley). It is still disputed by historians today about whether the attack by
Nathaniel Bacon on the governor of Virginia, Sir William Berkeley, was justified or not. It all started
in 1675, during the Susquehannock War. Many Virginians disagreed on the

Atrial And Ventricular Septal Defects
ATRIAL AND VENTRICULAR SEPTAL DEFECTS
Yulissa R. De Leon
June 26, 2016
BS 104 ME1
Dr. Ali Saleh A ventricular septal defect or VSD is a heart defect. It s congenital, this means that a
baby is born with it. It is an opening or hole in the dividing wall called the Septum, between the two
lower chambers of the heart, right and left ventricles. Ventricular septal defects are the most common
type of congenital heart defects. A VSD allows oxygen rich blood to pass from the left ventricle
through the opening in the septum. Then it mixes with oxygen poor blood in the right ventricle. There
are different types of ventricular septal defects, the type your child has depends on which part of the
wall between the ventricles is involved. Also the size of the opening or hole varies. A ventricular
septal defect may occur more often in some families, this is because of gene defects. But most of the
time, the cause is unknown. Similarly to ventricular septal defect, an Atrial septal defect is a birth
defect of the heart in which there is also a hole in the wall in the septum, but instead of dividing the
lower chambers it divides the upper chambers of the heart (atria), here a hole can vary in size and may
close on its own or may require surgery as well. An atrial septal defect is one type of congenital heart
defect, in which also the baby is born with it. For both Atrial and Ventricular septal defect the size of
the opening or hole affects how severe the child s

Sociology Arranged Marriage
Is there real love existing in an arranged marriage? Are arranged marriages successful in the long
term? These are some questions that many people think about before entering one. But, what exactly is
an arranged marriage? According to New World Encyclopedia, an arranged marriage is, a marriage
which involves the parents in a process of selecting marriage partners for their children, with or
without the help of a matchmaker. (New World Encyclopedia) (show visual). You don t hear the term
arranged marriage quite often here in North America. Why? Well, mainly because it s rare in this part
of the world. Where it is common though is in the Middle East. They have strong cultural traditions
and values, and do not allow themselves to necessarily ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of my sources titled, Confluence of Influence: Indian American Youths Perception, Negotiation,
and Transformation of Arranged Marriage Traditions in Modern American Society, written by Dianne
Laura Fabii, talked about the opinions of second generation Indian American youth on arranged
marriages (show visual). Their parents, grandparents, and past generations all had one, but since they
are growing up in the United States, a western country where individualism and freedom are highly
valued, they decided that the tradition will not apply to their futures (Fabii, 2017). In addition, I came
upon an article which was a real life story rather than a collection of data. It was from National Public
Radio written by Jamie Tarabay, titled, Arranged Marriage: Trapped Between Two Cultures. It focused
on a 25 year old female named Mediha Sandhu (show visual) who is dealing with her parents wanting
her to move to Pakistan to have an arranged marriage, as opposed to her wanting to stay in New
Jersey. The article dives deep into her story and explains her feeling trapped between two completely
different cultures. Sandhu is afraid of losing her freedom and identity, and how she won t be able to
express herself the way she is doing currently, because she is being forced to move back to a country
where women are seen as unimportant and simply useful for being a housewife (Tarabay,

Essay about Maya Angelou
Maya Angelou is one of the most influential and talented African American writers of our modern day.
Those who read Angelou s works should not pass the thought of where her influence came from.
Maya Angelou s work has been heavily affected by the era in which she began to write. The fifties and
sixties were a tumultuous time for most African Americans in the US. The civil rights movement, led
by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the National Urban
League, Martin Luther King, Jr., and others, was instrumental in securing legislation, notably the Civil
Rights Acts of 1964 and 1968 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

In 1957, Ku Klux Klansmen accused Alabama grocery chain truck driver Willie Edwards, 25, of
having made remarks to a white woman and forced him at pistol point January 23 to jump to his death
from a bridge into the Alabama River. His body was found down river in late April.
In 1959, Atlanta integrated its buses on January 21, but the governor of Georgia asked citizens to
continue quot;voluntary quot; segregation. In 1963, four black Alabama schoolchildren were killed
and nineteen people injured September 15 when a bomb exploded at Birmingham s 16th Street Baptist
Church while 200 were attending Sunday services. The deaths provoked racial riots where police dogs
were used to attack civil rights demonstrators. In 1964, an Atlanta restaurateur closed his restaurant
rather than submit to federal government orders that he serve blacks as well as whites.
His opposition to integration propelled him into the governorship of Georgia in 1967, and when he
was unable to succeed himself, he continued as lieutenant governor.
He passed out pickax handles on the street in front of his restaurant to partisans who would strike any
blacks who try to enter.
This is the world in which Maya Angelou grew up. She was born Marguerite Johnson in St. Louis,
Missouri. In the sixties, at

To What Extent Should Teenagers Get Their License Essay
Because of safety concerns, many states have increased the age at which teenagers can begin to drive.
Yet, many teens need to have a license in order to go to work, due to their guardian having jobs as
well. Also, teenagers can be taught discipline and responsibility when they learn to drive. As well, it is
quite convenient to have a car so you can do errands for your guardian while they are sick and can t
leave home or if the parents at work. I believe that teenagers should have their license at sixteen
because it gets them to work, can teach teenagers responsibility, and can be quite convenient for the
guardian(s).
First of all, teenagers at the age of sixteen usually have jobs and their guardian(s) are usually at work
themselves. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Wystan Hugh Auden Research Paper
The English American poet, Wystan Hugh Auden, better known as W. H. Auden, was known for his
ability to craft poems in different styles centering his work on different moral, social, and political
issues. W.H. Auden is recognized for having some of the most renowned poetry of the 20th century
due to his ability to use ancient moral issues, and relate them to current events of the time. Even
though Auden had a talent for using his personal experiences to create poetry of love and suffering,
some of his most powerful poems are written upon the immortality of war. Focusing on totalitarian
dictators, Auden created two of his most moving poems, September 1, 1939 and The Shield of
Achilles . Auden uses his poetry to express the ways bureaucratic dictatorship is used to control
citizens, leading dictators to unleash war upon the world. Due to his knowledge of the potential
destructive tendencies of dictators, Auden uses his poetry to convey the message that the power of
enduring human spirit has the ability to counteract the harmful effects of dictatorship if civilians
suppress the power of the tyrant. Wystan Hugh Auden was born on February 21, 1907, in York,
England. Auden was raised in a strict and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

BHIND THE SHILED
BEHIND THE SHILED is a police drama that sends strong messages about the challenges that face
law enforcement. The messages are relevant and the events in the script are similar to real life recent
events involving civilians and law enforcement.
The story focuses on four cops patrolling the streets with the lead character of O Donnell being a
veteran cop struggling with both professional and personal issues. The script does a good job of
showing what patrol officers go through. It s similar to the film END OF WATCH.
While the messages are well appreciated, the script could use more development.
One concern is the that there s no real actionable or external goal for the main character of O Donnell.
There s no strong hook. It s not until page 86 that the issue or complaint about police brutality is
introduced and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Remember, the protagonist needs to drive the story.
The dialogue has strengths and weaknesses. The dialogue nicely conveys the message about the lives
of police officers. It does push an agenda, so be careful of sounding too preachy. Sometimes there too
much dialogue. On page 98, the dialogue needs to be broken up vs. long passages. It s a bit
challenging to believe that O Donnell would also be so sarcastic towards the DA when questioned. He
s a veteran cop, so he probably wouldn t be so disrespectful.
Finally, there are numerous formatting errors and some misspellings. These issues to affect the read
and the pace. The formatting isn t properly aligned or spaced. There should be no space in between the
character element and the dialogue. There are too many spaces between the narrative descriptions and
the character elements (example page 1). There are several missing scene headings when the
characters go to a new location or get out of a car, (page 2). Introduce a character properly (i.e. age)
when first introduced. There s wrong dialogue formatting on page

Different Methods Of Preventing Vitamin D Deficiency And...
Seasonal affective disorder is a mood disorder characterized by depression, which occurs around the
same time every year (Partonen, 1998). It is hypothesized that being deficient in vitamin D is a reason
for having seasonal affective disorder. We have researched four different methods of preventing
vitamin D deficiency and seasonal affective disorder. The most used methods of achieving adequate
vitamin D levels were found to be indoor tanning, natural light, light therapy and vitamin D
supplementation. This research is important because it affects the well being and quality of life in
every day people. During this project, we will assess which of the following four methods: indoor
tanning, natural light, light therapy, or vitamin D supplementation is the most effective way to treat
seasonal affective disorder.
When looking at seasonal affective disorder, the environment where someone lives greatly affects
their depressive symptoms. As stated earlier, distance from the equator has proven to add to the
significance of people with depression in the winter months. A study was conducted to see the
difference in the rate of depression searches using the internet based on global location. The study
compared the United States with Australia, given that the U.S. lies in the northern hemisphere, and
Australia in the southern hemisphere. The two countries have greatly different climates, with Australia
remaining warm and sunny through most of the year. The results took into account the

  • 2. Descriptive Essay On Pleasant Memory Pleasant Memory Think about a time that you have been really jubilant, a pleasant memory you have. Whether that memory was with friends, family, on a school trip or at home, we have all had at least one time where we have been just ecstatic. For me, one of my joyous memories is my trip to the Bahamas. To explain my vacation and why it was so delightful, I ll break it up into three parts. First, the plane ride there, then my actual time at Paradise Island and lastly, the plane ride home. So, first for the plane ride there. Although we had to leave for the airport pretty early in the morning, around three or four a.m., I was still so excited to go to Paradise Island. My parents had been there before due to it being a free trip from father s workplace. They brought back souvenirs and told me all about the trip and I was eager to go and now I was finally able to. The worst part about the ride there was actually the wait to get on the plane. I did not have much fun at the airport but, we were only there for a few hours so it ended up being fine. I was a little nervous, but mostly excited to get on the plane not only because it was taking me to the Bahamas, but it was also my first time on a plane that I can actually remember. While on the plane I loved looking out the window and just gazing at the view. I enjoyed the view but, since I did get up early to get to the airport, I did end up sleeping through some of the flight. After hours of being on my phone, sipping on soda and ... • 3. Women Are The Victims Of War Human rights are not only violated by terrorism, repression or assassination, but also by unfair economic structures that create huge inequalities (Pope Francis). Just as women are victims of economic systems, they are also the victims of many, if not most, acts of terrorism and violence. These can include domestic violence, sexual slavery, emotional abuse, human trafficking, etc. In these ceaseless cases of oppression and violence, women and children bear the brunt of it all. In short, they are the casualties of war. The spoils of war. The victims of war. Two prominent ongoing acts of conflict which impact women are ISIS s widespread regime and domestic violence in Papua New Guinea. Both these events emphasize the dire situations women ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result, they find the sex slavery system established by ISIS very appealing and are more willing to support ISIS in order to reap personal benefits. Thus, ISIS uses systematic slavery and rape of young girls and women to gain more momentum and support. Their justification for such inhumaneness? The Koran permits Muslim men to have more than one wife along with sex slaves. In fact, ISIS lures the women into their system by convincing them that they are pleasing God through their actions and decisions. Overall, women in Syria, Iraq, Iran, Jordon, and Lebanon face rape, forced marriage, abuse, forced religious conversions, and being treated as currency in order to further a group that only seeks to pulverize women, non Muslims, and anyone else that prevents the domination of their men. Another astoundingly important issue the media fails to cover daily is the domestic violence in Papua New Guinea that has reached its highest point in 2015. In 1992 family violence occurred in about two thirds of the households in Papua New Guinea; however, the numbers today are unreported and unaccounted for because the government fails to keep track of a severe issue affecting most women in the country. In a 2013 survey 80 percent of men reported that they had enacted some form of abuse on their partner(s) at some point. Through all this, the police do not take an active part in helping victims ... Chiron also has to deal with his mother, who has became a prostitute in order to acquire money to buy drugs. He is fully aware of his sexuality, but tries to repress it. Although his physical appearance has changed, he still is that same boy that barely talks. He is now on the streets involved in the drug business. Unfortunately, him and Kevin are not together and do not talk. One night, though, Chiron gets a call from Kevin. Kevin talks about his life and asks Chiron how is his. Kevin also tells Chiron that he should go visit Miami one day, saying that he would cook for him, since he works in a restaurant now. Chiron decides to go, but first he visits his mother who is in a rehabilitation center. Since the both of them do not have a good relationship, his mother tries to apologize, and Chiron seems to forgive her. Chiron then meets with Kevin, who fulfills his promise of cooking for him. Locke continues to stay that the legislative s power should come from the commonwealth. Cloning Ethical And Moral Dilemma Cloning an Ethical and Moral Dilemma Scott Blakley Jr. YC English 101, Period 3 Dr. Palm 1 December 2014 Cloning an Ethical and Moral Dilemma Science has been plagued with the limits of ethics and morals of the people that fail to see the bigger picture that research can help to bring great things to the world. Cloning is one of the major fields that are affected by closed minded beliefs and laws that prohibit research. Should the search for finding medicine that could save lives and the chance for people to have healthy offspring be denied because of the misconceptions of different generations? Cloning should be allowed because of the medical benefits that it provides, the only way that it can become more ethical is with research to find the best techniques, and yet none of this is possible because of the laws that restrict the research. Cloning is an ethical and moral dilemma as it pertains to how we view not only the lives of people but in fact what we can and cannot do with our own bodies. Many see cloning as people trying to play god with others lives. This comes from the creation of life and then the use of the life that was created. Similar to abortion we have to define the meaning of what it means to be a person and whether or not they should be considered equal. Nevertheless, the overall dramatic premise with George Washington trying to demythologize himself has room for more development in the areas of the structure and pace, as well as further character development. For example, if Washington is to change from naïve boy into independent man (who will place a significant role in creation of independent country) he needs to learn the truth about political ambitions of the English, starting at perceiving them as allies in the beginning and continue to show their true colors as the story progresses. As things stand, the English seem to behave the same way throughout the story without a change. Many would argue that childbirth is a beautiful and miraculous event, however the process of the pregnancy is a very fragile time in the mother s life. During this time most everyone would agree that the mother should attempt to do everything that is possible to take care of her body. There are some habits, however, that an extremely difficult to break, even during a pregnancy. The practice of smoking tobacco is one of those habits. Many doctors would argue that smoking is never healthy for the body especially during a pregnancy. For years institutions have sought to produce statistical data to uncover the effects of smoking during a pregnancy. Even with the changing times, statistical studies on this topic, continue to produce the same conclusions. In 1965, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Palo Alto Medical Clinic in California, published a study of the pregnancy data of 5,659 women, who received care at their facilities from 1952 to 1958 (Downing) . This study recorded the end results of each pregnancy for both smokers, of which there were 2,630, and non smokers, of which there were 3,029 (Downing). This study found mixed results within different types of pregnancy complications. The study found that there were 88 premature births in smokers, compared to 66 in non smokers (Downing). The proposal would also require a federal permit for growing and distributing marijuana within state and national borders. The last aspect of the proposal would require for marijuana to be regulated exactly like alcohol by the Food and Drug Administration as well as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tabaco, Firearms, and Explosives. Both of these proposals are probable options for the United States, but the key question they must answer is: Should marijuana be a national issue or a states issue? When discussing current marijuana policy they are certain rules put in place, which criminalize marijuana. Stone states ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All of these factors cause a negative reaction by the public because they begin to feel untrustworthy of their national government and it makes even more difficult to enforce these rules. The United States must change their marijuana policy (rules) to something that utilizes proper scientific research; so the public can feel that the rules put in place have some legitimacy. Even if they don t completely agree with the policy, they will have to at least perceive the law in a more positive light. One example is the restriction of texting while you drive; there is a portion of the public that doesn t agree with this policy, but at the very least they are able to view the legitimacy of it because of the proper research that is utilized. So the national government should ask itself, if their current marijuana policy has a level of legitimacy? At the very least another question that could be asked is whether or not we have the natural right to have access to medical marijuana. Stone discusses normative rights or rights that cannot be given to you by the government, instead they come from religion, ideology, or natural law. Theme Of The Lamb To The Slaughter By Roald Dahl Roald Dahl has successfully presented creepy moments and ideas in his writing by the very uncommon, but realistic scenarios the characters are put in, word choice, and character development. The author gives very little background information at the beginning of the story causing the reader to be surprised with how the characters develop throughout the story. One way the author has presented scary ideas was by putting the characters in scenarios that are possible to happen to anyone, yet they are very unlikely. This is creepy because now there is suspense toward whether or not she is going to get away with the story she tells everyone. Comparatively, the author presents menacing and fearsome ideas by character development. In The Landlady, the woman presents herself and a very pleasurable, harmless soul. The text says, ..she gave him a warm welcoming smile. Toward the end, she keeps that eerie smile, but she starts to give hints letting him know that she s going to kill him. Throughout the story she mentions Mr Mulholland and Mr Perkins staying in her bed and breakfast. The text says, .. she looked up at him out of the corners of her eyes and gave him another gentle little smile. No, my dear, she said Only you. The way this developed in a creepy way was because she was giving vague answers, making it seem like the two men she killed, were alive and in their rooms. In Lamb to the Slaughter, the main character is six months pregnant and married. When the police come to search for evidence, they eat it. The police were unforeseeable, assuming the lady who offered them to stay for dinner, wouldn t be a suspect of killing the man who is pregnant with her child. As a child in middle school and high school I, we have all heard of the atomic bomb and of course of Hiroshima, but never in as much detail or on such a personal level as these stories. Not even in chemistry or physics class, where I learned some of the specifics as to how the bomb works, had I known of the destructive force of the bomb or it s gruesome effects on human beings. He is dropping off some goods at a friend s house for safekeeping some 3,500 yards, or two miles, away from the center of the explosion and that house crumbles to the ground from the force of the blast. That seems so amazing to me because in such a huge city, most of the time, you cannot even see two miles away. It may be difficult for most people to appreciate the force of a bomb that can destroy something two miles away, but most airplane bombs only destroy things within about 100 yards. That would be everything within a football field completely wiped out, now imagine something that could level everything within 35 football fields! The book also accounts just how much pressure the bomb exerted and how hot the bomb blast was according to scientists of the time. These were two other awesome statistics. The pressure of the blast was estimated to be somewhere between 5.3 to 8 tons per square yard. A yard is slightly larger than a person s arm and most people cannot lift more than a hundred pounds on one arm. Imagine having over 10,000 pounds, or five tons, of pressure being exerted on your arms? It s almost unbelievable. The heat given off by the blast is just as astonishing a number as the pressure. A recent survey of the airline economic health suggested that even though the industry hoped to return to some degree of stability, if not profitability, yet new costs beyond the airlines control wiped out recent efforts to cut costs and achieve new efficiencies. Record high oil prices and nation s on going war on terrorism have presented new barriers to improving the industry s financial health. Another cost factor that is heavily contributing to the overall cost is the Aviation Security Infrastructure fee (ASIF). This fee is enforced after Congress passed the Aviation and Transportation Security Act (ATSA) which necessitated additional security at the airports. This fee is expected to rise to $750million in 2005 from $315 million in 2000. This fee is in additional to the additional federal security mandates imposed since 9/11. The industry argues that impact of federal security mandate and foregone revenue totals $2.8 billion per year. The statute that directs FAA to extend war risk insurance to U.S airlines and air cargo carriers is set to expire on August 31st of this year. The novel is told from the point of view of Nefertiti s little sister, Mutnodjmet. It begins immediately before Nefertiti is chosen to become Akhenaten s Chief Wife. The story stops only after the death of Nefertiti and Meritaten and the crowning of Tutankhamun as Pharaoh of Egypt. Moran captures a Nefertiti that is ambitious, powerful, and sometimes scared. Nefertiti is thrown into the royal family as a teenager and was told to try and control the heretic Pharaoh, Akhenaten. At many times, the reader gets a glimpse of that worried and terrified young girl, but throughout most of the novel, Nefertiti is portrayed to be a strong and controlling Chief Wife of the Pharaoh. RECOMMENDATION Based on our valuation of the investment, as outlined below in the Analysis portion of the report, we have determined a per movie value of $8.9 million when considering purchasing the rights to the entire portfolio of 99 movies analyzed in the sample data. Based on production of 10 sequels, the per movie value of the portfolio would be $52.25 million. Our calculations based on the hypothetical portfolio is that Arundel Partners should make this investment as long as the present value of the expected cash flows from the sequel revenues exceeds the cost of production plus the cost of the investment. Depending on what value a studio will accept as payment per sequel, there appears to be significant profitability in the investment. Teenage mothers are stereotyped as (a) welfare dependent (b) irresponsible (c) lazy (d) ignorant and (e) promiscuous. However, the majority of society believes that their taxes were higher because of government benefits that teenage mothers and their babies receive. The negative stereotype regarding teenage pregnancy in society can be very damaging and discouraging to a young mother who simply made a mistake but still have dreams and goals in which she plans to obtain through continuing her education and obtaining a good job to support her as well as her child. Analysis Of Bacon Rebellion Brice Everson Mrs. Blomme Honors I 30 September 2014 Bacon s Rebellion The definition of courage as defined by Dictionary.com is the ability to do something that frightens one. A rebellion takes courage. It s not something the average human being can do. One cannot simply expect just anyone to verbally stand up for what they believe is right. Courage is not something found in a common human being. Sure, everyone has it somewhere deep down, but as for that select group of people who aren t afraid to stand up for what they believe is right: They are the ones that make a difference. Nathaniel Bacon wasn t by any means a great man but he definitely wasn t afraid to take charge of a situation that involved him, directly or indirectly, and stand up for himself. He was the type of relentless figure that made a difference in history because he had one thing we all strive to have: Courage. Bacon s Rebellion, also known as the Virginia Rebellion, took place in Jamestown, Virginia in 1676. Bacon s Rebellion was probably one of the most confusing yet intriguing chapters in Jamestown s history (McCulley). This rebellion is considered to be the first stirring of revolutionary sentiment in America,...(McCulley). • 41. Atrial And Ventricular Septal Defects ATRIAL AND VENTRICULAR SEPTAL DEFECTS Yulissa R. De Leon June 26, 2016 BS 104 ME1 Dr. Ali Saleh A ventricular septal defect or VSD is a heart defect. It s congenital, this means that a baby is born with it. It is an opening or hole in the dividing wall called the Septum, between the two lower chambers of the heart, right and left ventricles. Ventricular septal defects are the most common type of congenital heart defects. A VSD allows oxygen rich blood to pass from the left ventricle through the opening in the septum. Then it mixes with oxygen poor blood in the right ventricle. There are different types of ventricular septal defects, the type your child has depends on which part of the wall between the ventricles is involved. Also the size of the opening or hole varies. A ventricular septal defect may occur more often in some families, this is because of gene defects. But most of the time, the cause is unknown. Similarly to ventricular septal defect, an Atrial septal defect is a birth defect of the heart in which there is also a hole in the wall in the septum, but instead of dividing the lower chambers it divides the upper chambers of the heart (atria), here a hole can vary in size and may close on its own or may require surgery as well. An atrial septal defect is one type of congenital heart defect, in which also the baby is born with it. For both Atrial and Ventricular septal defect the size of the opening or hole affects how severe the child s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was from National Public Radio written by Jamie Tarabay, titled, Arranged Marriage: Trapped Between Two Cultures. It focused on a 25 year old female named Mediha Sandhu (show visual) who is dealing with her parents wanting her to move to Pakistan to have an arranged marriage, as opposed to her wanting to stay in New Jersey. Auden is recognized for having some of the most renowned poetry of the 20th century due to his ability to use ancient moral issues, and relate them to current events of the time. Even though Auden had a talent for using his personal experiences to create poetry of love and suffering, some of his most powerful poems are written upon the immortality of war. Focusing on totalitarian dictators, Auden created two of his most moving poems, September 1, 1939 and The Shield of Achilles . Auden uses his poetry to express the ways bureaucratic dictatorship is used to control citizens, leading dictators to unleash war upon the world. Due to his knowledge of the potential destructive tendencies of dictators, Auden uses his poetry to convey the message that the power of enduring human spirit has the ability to counteract the harmful effects of dictatorship if civilians suppress the power of the tyrant. Seasonal affective disorder is a mood disorder characterized by depression, which occurs around the same time every year (Partonen, 1998). It is hypothesized that being deficient in vitamin D is a reason for having seasonal affective disorder. We have researched four different methods of preventing vitamin D deficiency and seasonal affective disorder. The most used methods of achieving adequate vitamin D levels were found to be indoor tanning, natural light, light therapy and vitamin D supplementation. This research is important because it affects the well being and quality of life in every day people. During this project, we will assess which of the following four methods: indoor tanning, natural light, light therapy, or vitamin D supplementation is the most effective way to treat seasonal affective disorder.
