Dermal Fillers Research Paper
What is a Dermal Filler
There are a number of factors which can impact your skin s appearance: sun exposure, hormonal
changes and aging all can play a part in your skin losing Hyaluronic acid and collagen. Once this starts
to happen your skin is more prone to fine lines, wrinkles and a loss of fullness and elasticity.
The good news is that Serene Radiance has a range of dermal fillers that can reverse these signs of
aging by filling in lines and restoring lost volume while enhancing your facial contours and lips for
natural looking results.
All our dermal fillers are Hyaluronic Acid (HA) based. Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring sugar
found in your body. When it combines with the water that exists in your skin it instantly smoothes
lines and wrinkles, restores lost volume in the cheeks and jaw line and can also enhance your lips.
Dermal fillers have also been shown to naturally stimulate collagen production in your skin. ... Show

wrinkles and folds in Canada and the United States. Presently, hyaluronic acid based facial fillers are

Problems With Hurricane Katrina
Hurricane Katrina was a devastating category 5 that made landfall in Buras, Louisiana, on Monday,
August, 25, 2005. It was downgraded to a level 4 hurricane when it made landfall. This hurricane was
extremely devastating for the city of New Orleans 2004 (Haddow, Bullock, Coppola, 2014 p17). This
hurricane was so overwhelming that it crippled local government which ceased to exist immediately
after the disaster. The main problem with FEMA at the was President George W. Bush. This was less
that four years after 911 and a majority of its resources were applied to terrorism 2004 (Haddow,
Bullock, Coppola, 2014 p20). FEMA was focused on another 911 attack and was not prepared as
should have been to handle natural disasters. Hurricane Katrina was the biggest storm to hit the US
that year and was headlines on all media outlets. Not necessarily the ... Show more content on

I believe that the largest problem with FEMA and other emergency management agencies in the
United States is with its leadership. FEMA s leadership and direction fall upon the whim of the United
States President. The problem is that they place someone as director in the office with little to no
disaster management skills. These directors would maintain their role until they failed miserably at the
next major disaster. The government must realize that this is a service of government that cannot be
taken lightly that we are constant threat of natural disasters and that when local or state government
cannot provide then it becomes the responsivity of the United States Government. The person who is
chosen to lead this office must have the skills and experience to deploy resources of the government
into communities that need it the most with affected by disaster. Given the importance of this role the
leader must have been granted the authority by our government to override other bureaucratic
agencies especially when responding to these

Benefits Of Small Class Size
Smaller Class Sizes Imagine being in a classroom filled with 30 or more students and being unable to
concentrate due to the loud, obnoxious students. Children from ages 5 10 are known to get easily
distracted. Elementary school students fall into this category. Reducing the class size for this age
group is a solution to this matter. Providing smaller class sizes can allow students to participate in
higher achievements and build a stronger bridge to success. Elementary schools should have smaller
class sizes. One reason why elementary schools should have smaller class sizes is because students are
able to receive more one on one time with their teacher. Students are allowed to enhance their learning
by being able to concentrate fully and receive the proper engagement with their teacher. According to
Garrett Delavan, 12 students per class is more beneficial. He proclaims that, Common sense and
research suggest that there is an optimal grouping size range where peer and adult interaction mutually
benefit one another (94). While agreeing with Delavan, students should be given the chance to be
more familiar with their peers and teacher. Allowing 12 students per class, provides students the
chance to interact with each other regularly. This is beneficial to both the student and the teacher s by
allowing them to build a stronger relationship. Teachers can easily split these 12 students into groups
and have more time to recognize each student. Students are also allowed to focus

Holden s Pursuit Of Happiness In Catcher In The Rye
Happiness is only real when shared (Into the Wild). The idea of happiness is different from person to
person. Some people see it as a mindset, and others a way of life. Holden sees happiness as staying
young forever and never having to grow up and face responsibilities (Catcher in the Rye). Chris finds
happiness by escaping from all reality and being by himself in the wild (Into the Wild). But do either
of these characters find happiness? In parts of the book/ film these characters seem to be happy on the
outside, but how long does that burst of happiness last? How long can these characters last before they
hit bottom and [give] it up before they ever really even got started . Their happiness could even come
to an end because they were looking for something their own environment couldn t supply them with
(Quote A). Therefore, the idea of happiness is not long lasting from the beginning to the end of a ...

Throughout the book, Holden finds some sort of happiness, but eventually another conflict arises and
he gets pushed back to rock bottom. Then again, Holden and Chris don t know they hit rock bottom,
they just keep falling and falling (A) until it is too late to go back. In the book, Catcher in the Rye,
Holden hits bottom multiple times, but most of the time he bounces back. The worst feeling in the
world for Holden was when Phoebe, the only person that seems to matter to him in life, gets mad at
him. All she did was, she took off my red hunting hat the one I gave to her and practically chucked it
right at my face... It nearly killed me, but I didn t say anything (Catcher in the Rye, page 207). The
reader of the book knows that the red hunting hat belongs to Holden,

Birthday Mark by Nathaniel Hawthorne
The discovery of electricity opened the door to many mysteries that challenged scientists of the
nineteenth century. Nathaniel Hawthorne writes of some challenges that man could run into during the
exploration and application of new technology in The Birthmark. These challenges are not entirely
physical but they are more so about an internal struggle within Victorian mindsets. In The Birthmark
there are only three characters: Aylmer, a scientist, Georgiana, Aylmer s wife, and Aminadab, Aylmer s
lab assistant. Hawthorne isolates the characters in their caste to present individual viewpoints of a
tragic flaw. Each character promotes innocence but they are caught up in traditional values.
Hawthorne writes of an honest but fatal mistake ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His assistant, Aminadab is a sub human in his eyes (Fairbanks, 103). Aminadab is a complete contrast
to Aylmer but none of Aylmer s experiments would be possible without the help of this human
machine (Hawthorne, 298). He is of great importance to Aylmer, but Hawthorne makes it clear that
Aylmer thinks of himself much higher than the common man. Aminadab s importance to the story lies
within the fact that he is an invisible character everywhere except the lab. His profound contrast to
Aylmer s character away from Georgiana provides the reader with a clearer picture of the mad
scientist as he attempts to overthrow nature. When Aylmer fails to do so, Aminadab laughs
triumphantly at the tragic hero s attempt to control nature. These two characters show opposing
thoughts and reactions to the murder of Aylmer s now perfect, dead bride. Hawthorne s heavy use of
symbolism carries a lot of undertones that reveals irony on many levels as he wraps up the story. The
most obvious is that Aylmer murders his lovely bride when he perfects Nature. Georgiana is enamored
by Aylmer s experiments even though he often fails. She gains confidence and submits herself
willingly but only to vicariously pursue happiness through her husband s experiment. Knowing that
her birthmark makes her an object of horror to the one she loves, she finds life to be a burden and is
willing to risk her own life for both of their happiness (Hawthorne 292).

Sexually Transmitted Infection Paper
A STI (sexually transmitted infection) refers to more than 25 infectious organisms passed from person
to person primarily through sexual contact. The term form STI s has changed throughout history, from
venereal diseases to sexually transmitted diseases to sexually transmitted infections. STI is supposedly
a less judgmental than previous terms. Sexually transmitted infections do not have an agenda of a
certain race, ethnicity, or gender to affect. Some STI s can be cured and some require a lifetime of
treatment. I do not think anyone is invincible to STI s. I do not think there is such a thing as one
hundred percent safe sex. Therefore, the possibility of contracting an STI is always present. I believe
many people act as if they are immune to sexually transmitted infections because there is not much in

The example given, it feels better without a condom, is a sad excuse to have unprotected sex. This
excuse can be used by a man or woman and pressure their partner into participating in a high risk
activity, i.e. unprotected sex. Men and women should be educated on the possible consequences of
having unprotected sex. In the moment, I realize it is hard to weigh the rewards versus risks of unsafe
sex, but if the risks are taught early on, maybe the decision to have safe sex would not take any
thought. We live in a society where instant gratification is available in almost everything we do, so
why would that not apply to one s sex life. The use of a condom or protection seems so small in the
scheme of things to some people, surely the rewards would outweigh the risks. This is where sex
education should play a role. As a society the emphasis on sex education is small. In the sex education
one does receive, a visual of how many risks accompany having unsafe sex and the possible infections
one could contract could persuade one not to take part in those

The Fear Of Glossophobia
If speaking in front of a massive crowd terrifies you, you are not alone. Glossophobia or in layman s

degree of anxiety when it comes to speaking in public. Even prominent personalities such as Barbara
Streisand and Prince Harry of Wales admitted upon suffering this phobia. McClafferty (2015) cited
that the term glossophobia originated from the Greek word glōssa which translate to tongue, and

Visual Aspects of Mythology During The Greco-Roman Era...
Visual Aspects of Mythology During The Greco Roman Era Ancient Greece was a culture that took
great pride in flawlessness, superiority and on the whole greatness. The Greeks basically molded the
imaginative world with their cleverness in art, architecture, and astronomy for many cultures to come.
Even though so much of the Greeks culture has been shattered, much of it still remains within society
today. The Greeks were a culture that strived for excellence, and harmony. So many aspects of
contemporary day life have been in some way, influenced by the Greeks. They were fascinated with
the human form, which is revealed in most of their artwork. Perhaps the most common Greco roman
era can be seen from the Hellenistic period. Art still served a religious function or to glorify athletes,
but sculpture and painting were also used to decorate the homes of the rich. There was an interest in
heroic portraits and in colossal groups, but also in humbler subjects. The human being was portrayed
in every stage and walk of life. There was even interest in caricature. Landscapes and interiors
appeared for the first time in both relief s and painted panels. The great Altar of Zeus from Pergamum,
created by Greek artists for King Eumenes 2, was enclosed by a high podium documented with a
monumental frieze of the battle between the gods and the giants. Many Hellenistic tendencies were
realized in this work. The baroque style of the sculpture was characteristic of the time in its
exaggeration

Government spending on NASA
Around the nineteen fifties to nineteen the world experienced a drastic change in innovations and
technological development; however, the rate of change has had an iota to no change since then. One
of the most recognizable changes is the computer, computers were developed to process calculations
faster and more accurately to give a country an edge in the space race. Another recognizable change is
the Global Positioning System, GPS, which is used worldwide today. Of course, there has been
countless innovations since then, not to mention discoveries that affect how we view the world. The
government should increase its funding to NASA, to help in the discovery of things that can change
the world forever.

several valid reasons for this lapse of use. Even though there are several facilities that have most likely
gone unused since the Apollo program, we have to recall that the federal government tells NASA what
their current mission is, which dictates what facilities are used. An example of this is the rocket test
stand that would have been used for the Constellation program, this program was canceled by Obama
when it was near its completion (Cobb). As such, we can concur that while certain facilities are not
used presently, that they may be used in the future, and thus are not a waste of taxpayer

Masculinity and Gender Roles
How is gender and gender roles socially constructed? Soulliere states that gender is a cultural creation
that is frequently developed by and represented through popular cultural media such as
advertisements, music, sports, and entertainment television (Soulliere 2006). The article Wrestling
with Masculinity: Messages about Manhood in the WWE by Danielle M. Soulliere (2006), examines
messages about manhood revealed by televised professional wrestling (Soulliere 1). Messages
concerning masculinity and manhood were investigated and compared to the cultural version of
masculinity (Soulliere 2006). Soulliere s research proves that the World Wrestling Entertainment
(WWE) depicts messages, which supports the dominant hegemonic form of masculinity (Soulliere
2006). To further grasp and understand Soulliere s hypothesis, we must first examine her research
methods and outcomes.
Soulliere states that television programs and advertisements such as the WWE provide gender and
social role models (Soulliere 2006). Soulliere references that the dominant form of masculinity is
associated with various male characteristics that consistently appear in the media. Such attributes
include violence and aggression, emotional restraint, toughness, risk taking, physical strength,
courage, power and dominance, competitiveness, and achievement and success (Soulliere 2006).
Additionally, presentation of men in sports continues to reaffirm the traditional hegemonic notion of
masculinity and Soulliere

Social Interaction Influence Cognitive Development Essay
Social interaction plays an important role in people s life starting from the early childhood as infants
interact with their caregivers and build the emotional attachment that is the base for future
relationships. By social interaction with others children learn how to communicate, play and behave in
particular situation. Berk (2009) proposed the overview of the literature that concentrates upon the
early attachment and its importance. Knowing the influence of social interaction on child development
in the first few years, the essay is going to elaborate upon the implication of social interaction on the
development of cognition. Cognitive development as Lee Gupta (eds.) claimed is the term that refers

The interesting question is whether the social interaction is shaped in similar way across different
children. Therefore, specific groups of children as normally developed, deprived of parental care, with
Down syndrome, and Autistic are going to be considered to elaborate whether social interaction is a
necessity for cognitive development and how social interaction influences the later stages of children s
life. The essay is going to introduce short overviews of Piaget (1926) and Vygotsky s (1978) theories
to indicate their different approaches when considering cognitive development. Piaget (1926)
developed a constructivist theory which is the basis for the other cognitive development theories that
followed. He proposed the definition of schema which refers to children s construction of shaping
their thought and actions through the set of cognitive processes as assimilation, disequilibriums and
accommodation. When encountering new experiences, children try to interpret them in terms of
known cognitive schemas. In case of failing, they need to adjust their interpretation to the reality
(Schaffter Kipp,8th ed). Based on his assumptions, Piaget (1926) proposed that child as a lone
individual progress through four main stages of cognitive development. On the other hand, Vygotsky
(1978) presented sociocultural theory. Vygotsky (1978) concentrated on the social interaction between
child and adult considering

In the current global economy, companies continuously search to improve efficiency, reduce overhead,

which symbolizes the American belief that Chinese laundrymen were exploiting the American

Because of this, Sun stated that a modern and ideal government system must be established. Sun had
his new government system divided into two powers: the power of politics and the power of
governance. The powers of politics are the rights of the people to express their political wishes. An
example of this today is Britain s Parliament s House of Commons. Sun declares that the people have
four major rights or civil rights, which are: election, recall, initiative, and referendum (ABC CLIO Sun
Yat sen ). Election means the right to vote, recall is the right to remove an elected official from power,
initiative is the right to petition and referendum is the right to refer measures passed by the legislative
branch to the approval or rejection of the electorate. The second power was the power of governance
or the power of the officials. Sun proposed the use of a five branch government system within the
power of governance, including the three branch system of the U.S. (Legislative, Judicial and
Executive), the use of checks and balances, as well as two other branches: Control Branch (similar to
the Censorate Branch) and the Examination Branch (similar to the branch responsible for the Civil

and even some patients who have many intestinal accidents. To get through all this, one needs to keep
positive and have a smile on their face. Some other traits include having good communication skills,
being emotionally stable, good physical endurance, and diligence. Since nursing consists of talking a
lot, ones communication skills should be very well. They must be able to understand what patients are
saying, what orders are given by the doctors, and how to successfully chart ones activity. An important
trait is being able to be emotionally stable. It is crucial in order to survive all the ups and downs of
emotions nurses must experience. For instance, if one has become good friends with a patient and they
pass away. It would be hard, but they would need to pull through and put their job first. For nurses to

Catholics Should Discriminate Against Same Sex Couples
From a feminist s perspective 2012 was a huge year for marriage equality. President Obama allowed
people of the same sex to get married. The LGBT celebrated by having parades and parties. The
course of LGBT rights history continued on. The sacrament of marriage has changed within our
society by becoming more sacred. It is the right thing to make same sex marriage legal because if it
wasn t then that wouldn t be fair to our LGBT community. Catholics can continue to believe their
religious beliefs in an appropriate way that does not discriminate against other groups. Catholics can
value the sacrament of marriage by sharing it amongst people from different cultures. Nobody, not just

E.e. Cummings, Poem, Anyone Li Essay
E.E. Cummings
quot;anyone lived in a pretty how town quot;
I first read this poem and I thought of love, two people in love. Anyone and noone are in love and that
is what matters to them, to be in love with each other and with life. It involves the day, the night, and
how the weather changes. The seasons revolve and the children grow up to become adults. As I read
the poem I realized there were three sections to it. Which consist of anyone and noone, quot;women
and men quot; in line four, and the children. The first stanza is strange the first time you read it. You
do not understand quot;anyone quot; is a person and not just anyone. I believe that line six is referring
to all of the adults in the town, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The portion of line two which states quot;many bells down quot;, is possibly referring to the death of
the children and somewhat the death of anyone and noone. The reference to death in lines twenty nine
and thirty by stating quot;deep by deep quot; and quot;more by more they dream their sleep quot;
shows how they surcome to death. In line thirty three quot;ding and dong quot; I think could be
anyone and noone.
Death is a part of the poem but the turning point lies in line twenty five, which states: quot;one day
anyone died i guess quot;. The main focal point is the uncapitalized quot;i quot;, in analyzing poems I
have begun to look at punctuation to tell me something about the author and look more deeply into the
poem and it amp;#8217;s meaning. The uncapatilized quot;i quot; gives a detached feeling when you
look at the line closely. It seems as though he could be detached because of the death that surrounds
this poem, has if does not want to involve himself as much in it. The quot;i quot; could also represent
the importance of something, probably love which one of the underlying themes of the poem. The
children are still alive until line twenty five. As in lines twenty two and twenty three they are thought
to be just playing, not being an important part, but Cummings is quite possibly showing their lack of
maturation. They do not seem as though they are too old to be just playing around, but as it says in

Importance Of Psychological Theories In Five BellsAndFive...
The crossing of boundaries is always psychologically challenging and confronting for an individual.
What do you think?
The crossing of boundaries is psychologically challenging and confronting as it can require an
individual to accept events the way that they occurred and make attempts to move on, which can be
difficult when it involves a traumatic situation. The psychological strain of crossing boundaries is
represented through the texts of Five Bells, by Gail Jones, Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and the
graphical novel Maus.
The crossing of a boundary can take a large toll on an individual, particularly when they are not able
to cross it. One type of boundary that is particularly challenging for an individual to cross is that of
their past and their current self. To find self forgiveness, an individual needs to be able to cross the
boundary out of their memories of the past and move forward with their life. In the novel Five Bells,
the character James struggles with his past immensely. He feels regret at how he left Ellie and their
relationship, and struggles to cross that boundary by meeting with her. James psychological struggle is
shown during his meeting with Ellie as he thinks He must also apologise. He must say sorry. He must
drag sincere words from his heart to his mouth... Of these things, at this time, James said nothing. The
use of internal monologue provides an insight into what is going on in James mind as he attempts to
cross a boundary. He wants to

Vegan Argumentative Essay
Vegan Power The correlation of health and diet has been an argument amongst many people whether
they are vegan or not. A whole food plant based diet, or being vegan, is a very healthy lifestyle
amongst many people for many reasons. First, eating meat and dairy products causes many health
problems that eventually catch up to people through the chemicals or toxins they produce or the
substances they have in the animal that people eat. Going vegan is very beneficial to everyone s health
and can prevent or actually reverse diseases. The second reason is it can help the environment since

Due to the fact that there are too many farm animals, the waste from these animals pile very high.
Raising these livestocks produces more greenhouse gases such as methane, carbon dioxide, and
nitrous oxide that contribute to global warming, the increase of temperature around the world. These
gases accumulate in the atmosphere and slowly heat up the planet, causing changes in climate. These
climate changes throw off the balance of nature and could cause the melting of the polar caps, drastic
changes in temperature, and other disastrous changes. Also, when farms and industries clear up forests
to make room for more farms and slaughterhouses, they are killing off the very things that are
capturing these greenhouse gases and also destroying habitats that animals live in. Not only that, but
the trees release the carbon dioxide they have been storing into the atmosphere. In addition, farms
dispose the waste of these animals into bodies of water, affecting the wildlife that live and thrive off
that body of the water and also people s water reserves. Also, there are farms and slaughterhouses
around communities such as some farms in North Carolina who spray the waste of the animals into
communities where the fecal bacteria and toxins from the animal will contaminate the water and make
the people sick from the smell of the bacteria. To fix this problem, farmers can find

Zombie Apocalypse History
6 Of The Most Original Zombie Movies Ever Made
Even the most passionate zombie movie fan will have to admit that the genre gets played out from
time to time. Sure, we all love a good walking dead/end of the world film. Yet, it s been a long time
since George A. Romero and Night of the Living Dead scared up audiences in 1968.
Since then, a slew of films have been produced and they ve varied wildly in terms of quality. Some
being quality, but most not so much. Yet, it s not always the quality of a zombie film that makes
people come. Some just want to see the undead devouring on some human flesh. Films have ranged
from classic horror themes to ridiculous plots about loved ones coming back from the dead. Some are
even timepieces that may only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Critics both loved and faulted FotLD s zany, largely original plot despite attempting to cash in on two
often cliche genres in one film. While the film did receive high marks from some critics, FotLD never
created much of a buzz. But it does have the bad guy from Kindergarten Cop in it. So, that should
make someone reading this interested, right?
Warm Bodies (2013)
A zombie love story isn t the most original concept in recent years. Yet, Warm Bodies went deeper
with a background into the main zombie character, R. In doing so, the film showed a human element
to the undead (thanks largely to Nicholas Hoult s voiceovers) that hasn t been explored in detail in
other films.
Another interesting twist to the genre was the addition of separate zombie factions. The far
deteriorated become the bad guys, along with the humans while those left in the middle are the heroes.
It s a classic tale of why extremes are never a good idea. Additionally, clever writing and a cast of
solid Hollywood veterans make Warm Bodies more endearing than other out there love stories.
Besides, it s not as if Warm Bodies was a trilogy centered on a love triangle involving a teenage girl, a
vampire and a werewolf. That would just be over the top.

Review Of Making And Keeping Peace
Review: Making and Keeping Peace
Suzanne Werner and Amy Yuen
Introduction
The article written by Werner and Yuen examines the durability of peace after interstate conflicts.
Criticizing the reliance of the past literature only on the strength of peace agreements, they suggest
two other key variables affecting peace durability: whether the ceasefire followed a consistent pattern
of battle outcomes; and whether the war was interrupted by third party pressure, resulting in a
ceasefire. The primary assumption behind both variables is that if the agreement reflects the
belligerents convergent expectations about the military consequences of continuing the war, it will be
less likely to fail. Wars interrupted by third party intervention or ended without a clear winner do not
reveal enough information about the prospects of continuing fighting and therefore, are more likely to
resume.
In this paper, the author critically analyzes this article from various perspectives. Although the article
is an important contribution to the IR literature on peace, some points in the article require further
clarification and research. First, some issues with the two new variables and the way they are coded
are discussed. Then, some general points about the conclusions they draw from the data are presented.
Variables
In my opinion, some aspects of the definition of the variables they introduce are problematic or at
least unclear. The battle consistency variable can take a value between 1 and 0.

Customs and Courtesies Essays
Marine Corps customs and courtesies are very important to the way the Marine Corps works. They are
intended to reinforce discipline and the chain of command, showing how Marines will treat their
superiors. They also enhance esprit de corps and unity. This is what makes the Marine Corps the
brotherhood that it has become. Military courtesies include correct forms of address like; Sir, and Ma
am, and when each should be used; the salute, and standing at attention, proper wear of military
covers, and the rules for behavior in different ceremonies. Specifics can change depending on an
individual s rank, location, and conditions. A military funeral, for example, requires stricter etiquette
than a normal day. Courtesies are sometimes relaxed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But one thing they all have in common is they show the respect and honor the soldiers and superiors
have for one another. Military courtesies are often very similar to the civilities found in the civilian
world as well as daily life. The only difference is that it is mandatory for the courtesies seen in the
military to be adhered to and followed by its soldiers. If these courtesies are not followed, the
offending soldier can, and almost always will, be punished. This punishment can come in the form of
corrective training, known commonly as essays, extra duty and can go as far as court martial, jail time
and/or being discharged from the military. In the military, manners and levels of respect help to
identify the difference between junior to senior ranking members. Courtesies and customs of the Army
have been practiced for hundreds of years. They involve a code of conduct that is mandatory for every
member of the army to follow. Some are obviously against the rules of professionalism such as public
display of affection in uniform, as is being intoxicated in uniform and exhibiting violent behavior are
conducts that are punishable in the military code of conduct. Others are unique codes of behavior that
must to be followed in order to present a one of a kind organizational structure to the military as these
customs and practices instill and show discipline and

Implication of Schizotypy as a Personality Trait Essay
Implication of Schizotypy as a Personality Trait
Gruzelier (1996) suggest that schizotypy consists mainly of impulsive non conformity, social anxiety,
positive features such as unusual perceptions, and negative features such as introversions. (Cited in
Miller P, et al. 2002, p.179).
In this essay one would like to explore the definition given to schizotypy and to give a brief discussion
on this concept and whether schizotypy is a single trait or whether there are more factors to be
considered, for it was conceptualized by Eysenck as a single personality trait named psychoticism,
however it was Claridge s work that suggested that this personality trait was much more complex, and

146). It was also suggested by Cooper that the concept of schizotypy, therefore, is said to have much
in common with Eysenck s idea of psychoticism. (Psychoticism is one of the three traits used by the
psychologist Hans Eysenck in his P E N model (psychoticism, extraversion and neuroticism) model of
personality. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Mental_illness_diagnosis_by_DSM_and_ISCDRHP 20k
) Both these traits are thought to predict the risk of developing schizophrenia, but researchers such as
Claridge have tried to predetermine all the main symptoms of schizophrenia from the clinical to the
non clinical population. It was said that Eysenck focused more on impulsive, sensation seeking, cruel
and solitary behaviors, who only mildly referred to the perceptual distortions or cognitive and
attention problems. Therefore he concluded that even if the traits have some similarities, they are
unlikely to be identical. (Cooper, 2002, pp. 146 7).
To determine whether schizotypy is a single trait can be complicated in the fact that if a personality
disorder description should include, at minimum, criteria relevant
To a person s characteristic patterns e.g. 1) thought, 2) affectivity,
3) motivation, and 4) behavior, the question that arisen to Westen, D., and Shedler, J. when

Examples Of Dementia In The Notebook
The Notebook is a 2004 romance based on the best selling Nicholas Sparks novel. In the beginning of
the film, there is an elderly woman and man in a nursing home who appear to have little relation. He
reads daily to her which gives her a daily routine. What she doesn t know is that he is actually her
husband and is retelling their life story over and over. She has no recollection of these events and

a brief time frame where she will remember him and their past, but this quickly fades and she becomes
aggressive and frightened. There are four identified forms of dementia: Alzheimer s disease, vascular

ANZAC Legend Assignment
History Term 4: ANZAC Research Assignment
Australia participated in of one of the greatest global wars in history, World War 1, as a part of the
Allied Forces. This war was also believed to be, at the time, the war to end all wars. It started on the
28th of July 1914 and was triggered by the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the Archduke of Austria.
On the 25th of April 1915, the British Empire sent the Australian and New Zealand Army Corp to
Gallipoli in an invasion where the young soldiers were essentially led on a suicide mission. They were
outnumbered. The campaign ended in a gruesome and horrific massacre of the ANZAC troops. The
battle between Australia and Turkey on the Gallipoli Campaign during World War 1 is often glorified
in the recognition of the ANZAC s excessive qualities such as courage and endurance; which is now
known as the ANZAC Legend. However, it is undeniable that the reality of how the ANZAC legend
was altered through propaganda, exaggeration and misunderstanding to portray a successful campaign.
The fact that the ANZAC Legend was highly exaggerated is not often debated for the purpose of
attempting to convince citizens that the deaths of the soldiers who fought in the Gallipoli Campaign
were not in vain. we need to scrape off the barnacles and make sure the commemorations are actually
about the soldiers and the tragedy of what they endured (Payne, 2015). Many of the legendary actions

Direct expertise in the semiconductor industry based on education and management experience
Direct experience in management of a company that buys from the semiconductor industry
You are correct in proclaiming that women and minorities are continuing to move into upper level

Currently the pool of candidates for our board of directors tends to very heavily represent the

Guantanamo Bay
As Nelson Mandela once said, To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity.

United States invaded Guantánamo bay and established a base during the Spanish American war (

Many issues have risen because of this detention facility. The detainees held at the facility have to and
had to face many challenges. The government took away their human rights and treats these detainees

Summary of Theodore Roethke s Poem My Papa s Waltz
Affection in My Papa s Waltz
Theodore Roethke s My Papa s Waltz is a gentle poem, made so by its affectionate and simple tone, its
innocence, its light heartedness, and its humor. While other readers, like John Ciardi, have found it to
be a poem of terror (Fong 80), when one considers the original drafts, as John J. McKenna does, one
sees a much less forbidding melodrama and a much more down to earth representation of home life.
This paper will show how Roethke s Waltz uses language, tone, and rhyme to convey, with childlike
sensibility, a happy image of an energetic dance with one s father.
Roethke s corrections in the original draft seem to be geared towards removing any type of suggestive
language or imagery that might rob the poem of its lightheartedness. In the original draft, the boy is a
girl and the mother s countenance / Could not unscrew itself (McKenna 35). Apparently the sexual
connotations of the latter term were to be avoided and the closeness of a small, dizzy girl to whiskey
on your breath was likely an unwanted image as well. By replacing the girl with a boy, and changing
unscrew to unfrown, Roethke removed from the poem the two main potential obstacles: abusive,
neglectful tone and sexual imagery. Carefully observing the suggestions associated to terms in the
English language, Roethke sets the reader in front of a scene of rough housing between father and son,
with mother looking on disapprovingly (but comically) because their

The Evolution of the Microscope Essay
Microscope Research Paper The evolution of the microscope. The first form of the microscope was a
crystal that was found by someone from a long time ago. The crystal was thick in the middle, but
thinner around the egdes. The crystal made things look bigger when someone looked through it. The
pearson also noticed that if the sun shone through the crystal, certain things could get burnt or set on
fire. They were known as magnifiers . Magnifiers were mentioned in the writings of the two Roman
philosophers, Seneca and Pliny. Apperantly, maginfiers weren t really used much until the invention of
the spectacles. The oldest actual microscope was actually just a tube with a plate at one end and a
glass lens at the other end. They magnified ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the 19th century, a man named Carles A. Spencer had made major improvements to the microscope.
He made the microscope have a magnification of 1250 diameters with ordinary light, and a
magnification of up to 5000 diameters with blue light. Successes of the Microscope. The microscope
has succeded at multiple things. It succeded at allowing scientists to study small, tiny things that
cannot be seen, or barely can be seen, to the human eye. It has allowed scientists to make
extraordinary discovieries. Failures of the Microscope. While the microscope has many successes,
there are also failures that it has had. The microscope has a limited magnification, unfortanetly not
allowing some small things to be seen. Feilds/Proffesions that use the Microscope. There are many
jobs that use a microscope. One of those jobs is Microbiologists. Microbioligists use microscopes to
identify microorganisms such as bacteria. The health care industry uses microscopes to identify
pathogens in tissue samples. Another Profession that uses the microscope are Chemists and
Biochemists. Microscopes are used in these professions to observe materials at molecular level or
below. Microscopes help chemists and biochemists do research on how substances react. It also helps
others develop new materials or products. Zoologists and wildlife biologists also use microscopes.
They usually study wildlife, but they also do lab work. They use microscopes to analyze samples, so

Power Dynamic Between A Years Old And A Bengal Tiger
The Power Dynamic between a Sixteen Year Old and a Bengal Tiger Who has the power? A sixteen
year old or a Bengal tiger? Power is typically concerned with who or what has control over someone
or something else, so the question almost seems silly, because what could a young teenage boy have
over a carnivorous, wild animal? Although it may seem obvious that the wild animal would have
control over the boy, the answer is not as definite in the Life of Pi by Yann Martel. In the novel, the
tiger, Richard Parker, and the teenage boy, Pi Patel share power. In other words, the two characters
share power because of the unusual dynamic of equals between them. As a result of their dynamic, it
brings up the question of how this situation came to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My agency was pure and miraculous. It conferred power upon me (Martel 248). To further support Pi
s claim, Pi even provides evidence for why Richard Parker s reliance on him gave him power: Proof: I
remained alive day after day, week after week. Proof: he did not attack me, even when I was asleep on
the tarpaulin. Proof: I am here to tell you this story (Martel 248). If Pi Patel had not been on that
lifeboat with Richard Parker, the chances of survival of the tiger would have been slim. Richard
Parker would have eventually died of starvation or dehydration if Pi had not been there taking care of
him. Thus, Richard Parker s reliance on Pi gave Pi power over Richard Parker.
The way in which Pi assumed this power over Richard Parker was by establishing himself as an equal
to him. As Pi brought food to the tiger, Pi would use whistles to remind Richard Parker of who
provided him with food and water: ...not forgetting to blow the whistle hard several times, to remind
Richard Parker of who had so graciously provided him with fresh food (Martel 206). This method Pi
had developed proved to be successful on his mission to become equals with Richard Parker when Pi
stared into [Richard Parker s] eyes, wide eyed and defiant, and [they] faced off (Martel 246). Pi knew
that if he looked away and backed down, the tiger would never see him as an equal, because Richard
Parker would see

(Benefits of Training)
Issue #3
Project Management Training
Nick seems very excited about the project that Warren is proposing and the fact that he is being
entrusted with this new venture. However, he is clearly unqualified and overwhelmed. Warren says all
of the complex things that Nick is in charge of, but he says you have plenty of time for planning.
There are a couple of issues here. First that Warren hasn t been very specific with the details regarding
the scope, budget, and timing. The other issue is that Nick doesn t have any experience managing a
project like this and this is important to CanGo s success.
Resolution
Nick needs to tell Warren that he needs more specific information on scope, timing, and budget for the
project. He also needs some Project Management training to create a Microsoft Project WBS to
outline all of the tasks and assign resources to determine if the project is feasible and in the best
interest of the organization. Creating the WBS and Gantt chart will also help determine if they have
the necessary resources in house to do the work or if it is better to outsource some of the project to
offset some of the risks. Right now, Nick doesn t have any visibility into everything that needs to be
accomplished to complete the project without a plan, nor can he anticipate any risks that would
prohibit them from successfully completing the project. By creating a project plan Nick can identify
all tasks, dependencies, costs, and

Vanilla Stocks and Bonds
Phase 5 IP Vanilla Stocks and Bonds
Part 1 Bonds
It has been established that it is crucial to be able to properly value a bond for finance. Two companies
have been chosen to represent this action for this document Apple Inc. as well as IBM which are both
in the technology sector and have long term debt, have bonds and also stocks available for sale. We
are going to determine the length until maturity, the yield to maturity and then also the price of the
bond today. While keeping this information in mind we can determine what time value of money
illustrates about each bond. A credit rating has been assigned to each company and we can determine
which company may be the better investment for the bank as well as the investor. In the ... Show more

Apple currently has 16,958 million dollars of long term debt according to the U.S. Security and
Exchange Commission (2013).
Next we have International Business Machines (IBM) which is one of the largest computer
manufacturers in the world developing mainframes personal and business computers and helped to
ignite the computer revolution. Again using Morningstar (2013) it was discovered that IBM had a 3
stars and a rating of AA . According to the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission (2013) IBM has a
long term debt of $26,292 million. Morningstar revealed that their debt ratio is 65.8% which is
extremely high. The bond that was chosen to evaluate was thhe Intl Busn Machs 4.0% which also has
a maturity date of 30 years. The accrual start date is June 20, 2012 and has the first payment date of
December 20 2012 which a conclusion can be made that it has semiannual coupon frequency.
Let us look at some more information in a chart as it may be easier to understand.
So if we start to compare the separate bonds that are presented by these two powerhouse companies
we can see that they both have a maturity date of 30 years for a face value of $1,000 and the coupon
type is fixed. The coupon rate is less than the current interest rate which means a buyer may want to
pay less for that bond. However there are some differences such as the issue size of the two bonds.

Media Laden Day And Age Collective Memory
There is Candy in little bowls on an old serving table by the front door. Pumpkins are all lit up around
the porch rails,
There is chatter of delight as children run through dry crunchy leaves..... I remember being 8 years
old, trying to see in the dark through a sweaty plastic mask strapped around my head with a flimsy
elastic band,
We would run up and down the neighborhood streets in poorly made plastic costumes with our winter
jackets stuffed underneath. At the end of the hunt My friends and I would dump out all of our sugary
bounty onto the couch, trade some nerds for some whoppers and gorge ourselves sick. This happened
every year on the night of October 31st. It is Christmas. Everything feels special. The night is electric

groups of people. Our collective memories have constructed our languages, social practices, ritual,
religion, cooking, architecture, our physical expressions such as art, music, dance, mythology,

A Comparison Of Detective Marvel And Detective Comics
It is without a doubt that DC and Marvel, these gigantic comic book companies, have been extremely
influential. Both creating characters, stories, and lores, that will surely stand the test of time. Creating
references and influencing our pop culture to great lenghts. However, it is quite evident which of the
two companies has had, not just the most successful run, but the most influential run. Detective
Comics, better known as DC, is superior due it s content, film production, and overall impact on
history. First of all, DC comics has some of the most recognized icons and characters. Just to name a
few, there is Batman and his infamous The Batsignal . The Batsignal first appeared in the February
1942, in the comic book Detective Comics #60. DC comics also have the rights to Superman, one of
its first comic book superheroes, a well known icon. DC has a great collections of characters, and a
plethora of superheroes. Some of such heroes being, Superman, Batman, Zatman, the Flash, Captain
Atom, Robin, Wonder Woman, and the list continues. All of these Superheros have something in
common, emphasises on the super, they all are extremely godlike. They were all born super, either by
inheritance in the case of Batman, or powers at birth. They are born powerful, and are deeply
motivated by justice. This philosophy is quite interesting, however at time sound unattractive, where
the audience finds it hard to relate to these heroes. In spite of this gap between audience and hero,

Wuthering Heights Thesis
At the center of Wuthering Heights lies a tragic vision of decay and detachment which depends
completely on the severances Emily Bronte has created between characters, estates, and social
statuses. Bronte reveals societal flaws that had never before been recognized during her time and
creates a raw vision of Victorian life; one in which the differences between characters and their social
standings outweigh their true beliefs and desires when it comes to who they choose to be, who they
choose to surround themselves with, and how they choose to treat those around them. In its most
distinct form, Wuthering Heights is a love story that chronicles the lives of Catherine Earnshaw and
Heathcliff, regardless of the distance between them. It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bronte illustrates the Heights as having a very blunt and intimidating appearance. It is a very strong
and prominent structure, however it proves to be a very desolate and lonely place. Likewise, those
who inhabit it prove to be somewhat tormented souls. Nelly describes Heathcliff after his subjection to
the Heights without Catherine, A half civilized ferocity lurked yet in the depressed brows and eyes full
of black fire, but it was subdued; and his manner was even dignified: quite divested of roughness,
though too stern for grace (Bronte, 95). Just a few miles away, the Grange represents sanity and
sensibility with its refinement and pleasant appearance. The civility of its inhabitants, the Lintons, and
their distinguished status stand in stark contrast to the more disturbed Wuthering Heights. Bronte takes
great care to create these images of the two estates for readers because it is what they stand for that
drives Catherine and Heathcliff apart in the first place. Ironically, Bronte also uses setting to reunite
Catherine and Heathcliff. The moors that separate the two estates represent a sort of heaven for the
two, where they used to lose themselves when they were young, the only place either of the two ever
truly felt they belonged. It is here that the two roam together in the afterlife.
As previously discussed, Bronte is fully aware of the division between

Children from ages 5 10 are known to get easily distracted. Elementary school students fall into this category. Reducing the class size for this age group is a solution to this matter. Providing smaller class sizes can allow students to participate in higher achievements and build a stronger bridge to success. Elementary schools should have smaller class sizes. One reason why elementary schools should have smaller class sizes is because students are able to receive more one on one time with their teacher. Students are allowed to enhance their learning by being able to concentrate fully and receive the proper engagement with their teacher. According to Garrett Delavan, 12 students per class is more beneficial. He proclaims that, Common sense and research suggest that there is an optimal grouping size range where peer and adult interaction mutually benefit one another (94). While agreeing with Delavan, students should be given the chance to be more familiar with their peers and teacher. Allowing 12 students per class, provides students the chance to interact with each other regularly. • 6. Birthday Mark by Nathaniel Hawthorne The discovery of electricity opened the door to many mysteries that challenged scientists of the nineteenth century. Nathaniel Hawthorne writes of some challenges that man could run into during the exploration and application of new technology in The Birthmark. These challenges are not entirely physical but they are more so about an internal struggle within Victorian mindsets. In The Birthmark there are only three characters: Aylmer, a scientist, Georgiana, Aylmer s wife, and Aminadab, Aylmer s lab assistant. Hawthorne isolates the characters in their caste to present individual viewpoints of a tragic flaw. Each character promotes innocence but they are caught up in traditional values. Aminadab is a complete contrast to Aylmer but none of Aylmer s experiments would be possible without the help of this human machine (Hawthorne, 298). He is of great importance to Aylmer, but Hawthorne makes it clear that Aylmer thinks of himself much higher than the common man. Aminadab s importance to the story lies within the fact that he is an invisible character everywhere except the lab. His profound contrast to Aylmer s character away from Georgiana provides the reader with a clearer picture of the mad scientist as he attempts to overthrow nature. When Aylmer fails to do so, Aminadab laughs triumphantly at the tragic hero s attempt to control nature. These two characters show opposing thoughts and reactions to the murder of Aylmer s now perfect, dead bride. Hawthorne s heavy use of symbolism carries a lot of undertones that reveals irony on many levels as he wraps up the story. The most obvious is that Aylmer murders his lovely bride when he perfects Nature. Georgiana is enamored by Aylmer s experiments even though he often fails. She gains confidence and submits herself willingly but only to vicariously pursue happiness through her husband s experiment. Knowing that her birthmark makes her an object of horror to the one she loves, she finds life to be a burden and is willing to risk her own life for both of their happiness (Hawthorne 292). ... Visual Aspects of Mythology During The Greco Roman Era Ancient Greece was a culture that took great pride in flawlessness, superiority and on the whole greatness. Even though so much of the Greeks culture has been shattered, much of it still remains within society today. The Greeks were a culture that strived for excellence, and harmony. So many aspects of contemporary day life have been in some way, influenced by the Greeks. They were fascinated with the human form, which is revealed in most of their artwork. Perhaps the most common Greco roman era can be seen from the Hellenistic period. Art still served a religious function or to glorify athletes, but sculpture and painting were also used to decorate the homes of the rich. There was an interest in heroic portraits and in colossal groups, but also in humbler subjects. The human being was portrayed in every stage and walk of life. There was even interest in caricature. The LGBT celebrated by having parades and parties. The course of LGBT rights history continued on. The sacrament of marriage has changed within our society by becoming more sacred. It is the right thing to make same sex marriage legal because if it wasn t then that wouldn t be fair to our LGBT community. • 24. E.e. Cummings, Poem, Anyone Li Essay E.E. Cummings quot;anyone lived in a pretty how town quot; I first read this poem and I thought of love, two people in love. Anyone and noone are in love and that is what matters to them, to be in love with each other and with life. It involves the day, the night, and how the weather changes. The seasons revolve and the children grow up to become adults. As I read the poem I realized there were three sections to it. Which consist of anyone and noone, quot;women and men quot; in line four, and the children. The first stanza is strange the first time you read it. The portion of line two which states quot;many bells down quot;, is possibly referring to the death of the children and somewhat the death of anyone and noone. The reference to death in lines twenty nine and thirty by stating quot;deep by deep quot; and quot;more by more they dream their sleep quot; shows how they surcome to death. In line thirty three quot;ding and dong quot; I think could be anyone and noone. Death is a part of the poem but the turning point lies in line twenty five, which states: quot;one day anyone died i guess quot;. The main focal point is the uncapitalized quot;i quot;, in analyzing poems I have begun to look at punctuation to tell me something about the author and look more deeply into the poem and it amp;#8217;s meaning. The uncapatilized quot;i quot; gives a detached feeling when you look at the line closely. It seems as though he could be detached because of the death that surrounds this poem, has if does not want to involve himself as much in it. The quot;i quot; could also represent the importance of something, probably love which one of the underlying themes of the poem. The children are still alive until line twenty five. As in lines twenty two and twenty three they are thought to be just playing, not being an important part, but Cummings is quite possibly showing their lack of maturation. • 25. Importance Of Psychological Theories In Five BellsAndFive... The crossing of boundaries is always psychologically challenging and confronting for an individual. What do you think? The crossing of boundaries is psychologically challenging and confronting as it can require an individual to accept events the way that they occurred and make attempts to move on, which can be difficult when it involves a traumatic situation. The psychological strain of crossing boundaries is represented through the texts of Five Bells, by Gail Jones, Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and the graphical novel Maus. The crossing of a boundary can take a large toll on an individual, particularly when they are not able to cross it. One type of boundary that is particularly challenging for an individual to cross is that of their past and their current self. To find self forgiveness, an individual needs to be able to cross the boundary out of their memories of the past and move forward with their life. In the novel Five Bells, the character James struggles with his past immensely. He feels regret at how he left Ellie and their relationship, and struggles to cross that boundary by meeting with her. James psychological struggle is shown during his meeting with Ellie as he thinks He must also apologise. He must say sorry. He must drag sincere words from his heart to his mouth... Of these things, at this time, James said nothing. The use of internal monologue provides an insight into what is going on in James mind as he attempts to cross a boundary. He wants to ... A whole food plant based diet, or being vegan, is a very healthy lifestyle amongst many people for many reasons. First, eating meat and dairy products causes many health problems that eventually catch up to people through the chemicals or toxins they produce or the substances they have in the animal that people eat. Going vegan is very beneficial to everyone s health and can prevent or actually reverse diseases. The second reason is it can help the environment since the environment is also being destroyed because of the production of meat and dairy products. Due to the fact that there are too many farm animals, the waste from these animals pile very high. Raising these livestocks produces more greenhouse gases such as methane, carbon dioxide, and nitrous oxide that contribute to global warming, the increase of temperature around the world. These gases accumulate in the atmosphere and slowly heat up the planet, causing changes in climate. These climate changes throw off the balance of nature and could cause the melting of the polar caps, drastic changes in temperature, and other disastrous changes. Also, when farms and industries clear up forests to make room for more farms and slaughterhouses, they are killing off the very things that are capturing these greenhouse gases and also destroying habitats that animals live in. Not only that, but the trees release the carbon dioxide they have been storing into the atmosphere. In addition, farms dispose the waste of these animals into bodies of water, affecting the wildlife that live and thrive off that body of the water and also people s water reserves. Also, there are farms and slaughterhouses around communities such as some farms in North Carolina who spray the waste of the animals into communities where the fecal bacteria and toxins from the animal will contaminate the water and make the people sick from the smell of the bacteria. Sure, we all love a good walking dead/end of the world film. Yet, it s been a long time since George A. Romero and Night of the Living Dead scared up audiences in 1968. Since then, a slew of films have been produced and they ve varied wildly in terms of quality. Some being quality, but most not so much. So, that should make someone reading this interested, right? Warm Bodies (2013) A zombie love story isn t the most original concept in recent years. Yet, Warm Bodies went deeper with a background into the main zombie character, R. In doing so, the film showed a human element to the undead (thanks largely to Nicholas Hoult s voiceovers) that hasn t been explored in detail in other films. Another interesting twist to the genre was the addition of separate zombie factions. The far deteriorated become the bad guys, along with the humans while those left in the middle are the heroes. It s a classic tale of why extremes are never a good idea. Additionally, clever writing and a cast of solid Hollywood veterans make Warm Bodies more endearing than other out there love stories. • 28. Review Of Making And Keeping Peace Review: Making and Keeping Peace Suzanne Werner and Amy Yuen Introduction The article written by Werner and Yuen examines the durability of peace after interstate conflicts. Criticizing the reliance of the past literature only on the strength of peace agreements, they suggest two other key variables affecting peace durability: whether the ceasefire followed a consistent pattern of battle outcomes; and whether the war was interrupted by third party pressure, resulting in a ceasefire. The primary assumption behind both variables is that if the agreement reflects the belligerents convergent expectations about the military consequences of continuing the war, it will be less likely to fail. Wars interrupted by third party intervention or ended without a clear winner do not reveal enough information about the prospects of continuing fighting and therefore, are more likely to resume. In this paper, the author critically analyzes this article from various perspectives. Although the article is an important contribution to the IR literature on peace, some points in the article require further clarification and research. First, some issues with the two new variables and the way they are coded are discussed. Then, some general points about the conclusions they draw from the data are presented. Variables In my opinion, some aspects of the definition of the variables they introduce are problematic or at least unclear. The battle consistency variable can take a value between 1 and 0. ... (Cited in Miller P, et al. 2002, p.179). In this essay one would like to explore the definition given to schizotypy and to give a brief discussion on this concept and whether schizotypy is a single trait or whether there are more factors to be considered, for it was conceptualized by Eysenck as a single personality trait named psychoticism, however it was Claridge s work that suggested that this personality trait was much more complex, and that such ... (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Mental_illness_diagnosis_by_DSM_and_ISCDRHP 20k ) Both these traits are thought to predict the risk of developing schizophrenia, but researchers such as Claridge have tried to predetermine all the main symptoms of schizophrenia from the clinical to the non clinical population. It was said that Eysenck focused more on impulsive, sensation seeking, cruel and solitary behaviors, who only mildly referred to the perceptual distortions or cognitive and attention problems. Therefore he concluded that even if the traits have some similarities, they are unlikely to be identical. (Cooper, 2002, pp. 146 7). To determine whether schizotypy is a single trait can be complicated in the fact that if a personality disorder description should include, at minimum, criteria relevant To a person s characteristic patterns e.g. 1) thought, 2) affectivity, 3) motivation, and 4) behavior, the question that arisen to Westen, D., and Shedler, J. when researching the classification of personality disorders, is how to develop a classification system for ... This war was also believed to be, at the time, the war to end all wars. It started on the 28th of July 1914 and was triggered by the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the Archduke of Austria. On the 25th of April 1915, the British Empire sent the Australian and New Zealand Army Corp to Gallipoli in an invasion where the young soldiers were essentially led on a suicide mission. They were outnumbered. The campaign ended in a gruesome and horrific massacre of the ANZAC troops. The battle between Australia and Turkey on the Gallipoli Campaign during World War 1 is often glorified in the recognition of the ANZAC s excessive qualities such as courage and endurance; which is now known as the ANZAC Legend. However, it is undeniable that the reality of how the ANZAC legend was altered through propaganda, exaggeration and misunderstanding to portray a successful campaign. The fact that the ANZAC Legend was highly exaggerated is not often debated for the purpose of attempting to convince citizens that the deaths of the soldiers who fought in the Gallipoli Campaign were not in vain. we need to scrape off the barnacles and make sure the commemorations are actually about the soldiers and the tragedy of what they endured (Payne, 2015). • 42. Summary of Theodore Roethke s Poem My Papa s Waltz Affection in My Papa s Waltz Theodore Roethke s My Papa s Waltz is a gentle poem, made so by its affectionate and simple tone, its innocence, its light heartedness, and its humor. While other readers, like John Ciardi, have found it to be a poem of terror (Fong 80), when one considers the original drafts, as John J. McKenna does, one sees a much less forbidding melodrama and a much more down to earth representation of home life. This paper will show how Roethke s Waltz uses language, tone, and rhyme to convey, with childlike sensibility, a happy image of an energetic dance with one s father. Roethke s corrections in the original draft seem to be geared towards removing any type of suggestive language or imagery that might rob the poem of its lightheartedness. In the original draft, the boy is a girl and the mother s countenance / Could not unscrew itself (McKenna 35). Apparently the sexual connotations of the latter term were to be avoided and the closeness of a small, dizzy girl to whiskey on your breath was likely an unwanted image as well. By replacing the girl with a boy, and changing unscrew to unfrown, Roethke removed from the poem the two main potential obstacles: abusive, neglectful tone and sexual imagery. Carefully observing the suggestions associated to terms in the English language, Roethke sets the reader in front of a scene of rough housing between father and son, with mother looking on disapprovingly (but comically) because their ... • 45. Power Dynamic Between A Years Old And A Bengal Tiger The Power Dynamic between a Sixteen Year Old and a Bengal Tiger Who has the power? A sixteen year old or a Bengal tiger? Power is typically concerned with who or what has control over someone or something else, so the question almost seems silly, because what could a young teenage boy have over a carnivorous, wild animal? Although it may seem obvious that the wild animal would have control over the boy, the answer is not as definite in the Life of Pi by Yann Martel. In the novel, the tiger, Richard Parker, and the teenage boy, Pi Patel share power. In other words, the two characters share power because of the unusual dynamic of equals between them. As a result of their dynamic, it brings up the question of how this situation came to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My agency was pure and miraculous. It conferred power upon me (Martel 248). To further support Pi s claim, Pi even provides evidence for why Richard Parker s reliance on him gave him power: Proof: I remained alive day after day, week after week. Proof: he did not attack me, even when I was asleep on the tarpaulin. Proof: I am here to tell you this story (Martel 248). If Pi Patel had not been on that lifeboat with Richard Parker, the chances of survival of the tiger would have been slim. Richard Parker would have eventually died of starvation or dehydration if Pi had not been there taking care of him. Thus, Richard Parker s reliance on Pi gave Pi power over Richard Parker. The way in which Pi assumed this power over Richard Parker was by establishing himself as an equal to him. As Pi brought food to the tiger, Pi would use whistles to remind Richard Parker of who provided him with food and water: ...not forgetting to blow the whistle hard several times, to remind Richard Parker of who had so graciously provided him with fresh food (Martel 206). This method Pi had developed proved to be successful on his mission to become equals with Richard Parker when Pi stared into [Richard Parker s] eyes, wide eyed and defiant, and [they] faced off (Martel 246). Pi knew that if he looked away and backed down, the tiger would never see him as an equal, because Richard Parker would see ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(Benefits of Training) Issue #3 Project Management Training Nick seems very excited about the project that Warren is proposing and the fact that he is being entrusted with this new venture. However, he is clearly unqualified and overwhelmed. Warren says all of the complex things that Nick is in charge of, but he says you have plenty of time for planning. There are a couple of issues here. First that Warren hasn t been very specific with the details regarding the scope, budget, and timing. The other issue is that Nick doesn t have any experience managing a project like this and this is important to CanGo s success. Resolution Nick needs to tell Warren that he needs more specific information on scope, timing, and budget for the project. He also needs some Project Management training to create a Microsoft Project WBS to outline all of the tasks and assign resources to determine if the project is feasible and in the best interest of the organization. Creating the WBS and Gantt chart will also help determine if they have the necessary resources in house to do the work or if it is better to outsource some of the project to offset some of the risks. Right now, Nick doesn t have any visibility into everything that needs to be accomplished to complete the project without a plan, nor can he anticipate any risks that would prohibit them from successfully completing the project. • 51. A Comparison Of Detective Marvel And Detective Comics It is without a doubt that DC and Marvel, these gigantic comic book companies, have been extremely influential. Both creating characters, stories, and lores, that will surely stand the test of time. Creating references and influencing our pop culture to great lenghts. However, it is quite evident which of the two companies has had, not just the most successful run, but the most influential run. Detective Comics, better known as DC, is superior due it s content, film production, and overall impact on history. First of all, DC comics has some of the most recognized icons and characters. Just to name a few, there is Batman and his infamous The Batsignal . The Batsignal first appeared in the February 1942, in the comic book Detective Comics #60. DC comics also have the rights to Superman, one of its first comic book superheroes, a well known icon. DC has a great collections of characters, and a plethora of superheroes. Some of such heroes being, Superman, Batman, Zatman, the Flash, Captain Atom, Robin, Wonder Woman, and the list continues. All of these Superheros have something in common, emphasises on the super, they all are extremely godlike. They were all born super, either by inheritance in the case of Batman, or powers at birth. They are born powerful, and are deeply motivated by justice. This philosophy is quite interesting, however at time sound unattractive, where the audience finds it hard to relate to these heroes. • 52. Wuthering Heights Thesis At the center of Wuthering Heights lies a tragic vision of decay and detachment which depends completely on the severances Emily Bronte has created between characters, estates, and social statuses. Bronte reveals societal flaws that had never before been recognized during her time and creates a raw vision of Victorian life; one in which the differences between characters and their social standings outweigh their true beliefs and desires when it comes to who they choose to be, who they choose to surround themselves with, and how they choose to treat those around them. In its most distinct form, Wuthering Heights is a love story that chronicles the lives of Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, regardless of the distance between them. It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bronte illustrates the Heights as having a very blunt and intimidating appearance. It is a very strong and prominent structure, however it proves to be a very desolate and lonely place. Likewise, those who inhabit it prove to be somewhat tormented souls. Nelly describes Heathcliff after his subjection to the Heights without Catherine, A half civilized ferocity lurked yet in the depressed brows and eyes full of black fire, but it was subdued; and his manner was even dignified: quite divested of roughness, though too stern for grace (Bronte, 95). Just a few miles away, the Grange represents sanity and sensibility with its refinement and pleasant appearance. The civility of its inhabitants, the Lintons, and their distinguished status stand in stark contrast to the more disturbed Wuthering Heights. Bronte takes great care to create these images of the two estates for readers because it is what they stand for that drives Catherine and Heathcliff apart in the first place. Ironically, Bronte also uses setting to reunite Catherine and Heathcliff. The moors that separate the two estates represent a sort of heaven for the two, where they used to lose themselves when they were young, the only place either of the two ever truly felt they belonged. It is here that the two roam together in the afterlife. As previously discussed, Bronte is fully aware of the division between ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
