Poaching In Africa Essay
Poaching in Africa
Over the past 40 years, nearly 52 percent of the world s wildlife has been wiped out of existence.
Africa s large mammal population, alone, has taken a toll of 59 percent since 1970. A majority of this
massive deflation has been caused by the astounding abundance of poaching in these regions. Africa s
increasing rates of illegal poaching are a result of humanity s selfish demand for an individual body
part such as tusks, pelts, or bones, which can be sold on the black market for large sums of money.
Poaching in Africa is not only illegal, but morally wrong. Efforts to end poaching entirely should be a
priority, and with help, it can be stopped.
At current rates, elephants and rhinos may be completely killed off within our lifetime. Some other
animals that are on the verge of endangerment, due to poaching, are the gorilla, the lion, and the zebra.
These were not the first animals, however, to be this close to extinction. The quagga a zebra like
mammal, whose hide faded into a solid color was actually a real animal at one time. Its existence only
lasted until the early 1870s, when the last of its kind were killed off by hunters, and sold to the public
for their uniquely colored hides. This tragedy is something to learn from, and it is important that the
animals who face extinction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With an advantage such as this, poachers are able to take down their targets using high powered
weaponry. Some of the most common weapons used are AK 47s and grenade launchers. Their
purposes: to kill the animal as efficiently as possible. The tracking technology utilized on these
missions span from GPS devices, to night vision goggles, and even low flowing helicopters. Even if
these animals were not to be endangered, the level of brutality undertaken by their hunters is too
extreme to be

Importance Of Trade And Economic Growth Of Developing Nations
The Importance of Trade in Stimulating the Economies of Developing Nations
Nicole Memoly
Johnson Wales University Graduate School
Abstract This paper explores the importance of trade in stimulating the economies of developing
nations while focusing on the fictional country of Primaria. Topics include the potential opportunities
for growth, dynamic gains from trade, the impact of trade policies, the role of global organizations,
and reasons as to why the country of Primaria should open trade agreements with the United States to
import goods from the U.S. Machinery Corporation. Each topic is explained thoroughly and provides
examples from other developing nations so that Primaria can understand the benefits of trade and
economic growth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although there are many instances where there is potential for growth, here are a few specific
examples: opening your economy, benefits to your economy, taking advantage of comparative
advantages, building partnerships, and increased competition. By creating this trade agreement,
Primaria will open their economy and produce opportunities for growth in investments and joint
ventures. We can see from China that when a country opens their import/export business, that
opportunities for growth in investments and joint ventures increase. The trade agreement will bring
benefits to the economy, which can also be seen from China. China s economy has boomed since they
have become open to international trade, and imports have played a very large role in this economic
boom (Carbaugh, 2010, p. 254). This trade agreement will allow for Primaria to focus on their
comparative advantage, while utilizing s the United States comparative advantage. One of the United
States comparative advantage is machinery production. ( U.S. Exports. Where is U.S. Comparative
Advantage? ). When Primaria enters in to the trade agreement with the U.S., the U.S. will provide
Primaria with imports from the U.S. Machinery Corporation. This import will be one of the United
States comparative advantages, so by Primaria utilizing the U.S. comparative advantage, they will be
able to spend

Artemis Morley Essay
Last April (2016) when I made my inaugural trip to the Artemis Film Festival, I came in contact with
the works of a filmmaker that greatly intrigued me Jill Morley. Although I didn t meet her nor screen
her work at the festival, I have discovered that if Artemis promotes a filmmaker, it is worth my while
to investigate the person. And that is exactly what I did. A few months back, Jill and I had the
opportunity to chat, and in spite of her busy schedule, we briefly discussed her work within the indie
film community, her various films and projects, and her in progress works and future aspirations.
RH: What caused you to go the route of making films?

Yes, that s a piece that I did for Vice magazine. I was a host, and I helped produce it. I had been
fascinated with her for a long time. I knew a friend of hers said she was very sweet and nice and
actually girly, though a lot of people don t think that she s like that when they think of her. I reached
out to her and did this small piece on her with Vice. I was very proud of our work.
So between your two films Confessions of a Go Go Girl and Fight Like a Girl, which one seemed to
have the best reception do you think?
It s hard to say. It s been so long between the films. The first film got into more festivals, and we got a
broadcast distribution. But now so many more people are making films. I still don t feel like Fight
Like a Girl has reached its full potential. When we do play at festivals or even at women s events,
people are very responsive. They seem to respond strongly in very emotional ways.
I noticed you because of the Artemis Film Festival this past April, and they kept mentioning you and
your works.

Alpha Application Essay Sample
Winner of the Alpha Omega Contest is the highest honor that can a student at Joliet West High School
can receive. To win this award, to me, would be a realization of all the hard work I have put in over
the last four years. The goal of my efforts was not to build a strong resume for college applications or
even for the Alpha Omega contest, but to challenge myself to grow as an individual, and to serve my
community. Joining clubs and sports because they interested me, rather than in an attempt to have
something else to write on applications in the future, is a strategy that helped me to excel in these
endeavors. My passion for community service was cultivated in Students of Service (SOS), when I
joined as a sophomore. However because I of my dedication and leadership ability, I was awarded the
position of Vice President the following year, and those same traits have resulted in me being awarded
my current position of President. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Swimmeet-Personal Narrative
Next time you take your cousin with you to a competition you end up with sadness and then joy(if you
work hard enough). It was a Saturday morning. Michael woke up from his bed at 6:00am, my cousin
was staying over since the swimmeet was closer. Alex who was really enthusiastic about the
swimmeet(his first one by the way) he was jumping all over the place, looking for his goggles. We ate
breakfast, Ella, my mom cooked corn beef hash some eggs and pancakes. Robert, my dad who was
also really excited about Alex s first swimmeet. (He used to swim in college and his abs are still in
shape by the way). Michael who was the youngest in this mile swim team was extremely nervous. We
had to board an airplane that took about 5hrs to land. From Hawaii to California. We stayed in this
hotel provided by DACA.

smile back. Announcer: Take your mark. BEEP! My cousin launched into the pool with energy. He got
a 34 seconds in the end. My family cheering, their faces red at the sight of him winning his first event.
After I swam a mile, I was awfully exhausted. However My cousin when he looked at the results he
got disqualified for all of his races. My cousin was crying. He went to my parents sorrowfully to tell
him. Annabelle went up to congratulate me. I said thanks. My cousin was still crying. I went to the
snackbar and got two of those very overpriced hotdogs 6 dollars each! I found out that my cousins
coach was working.
Me: Did you know why my brother got DQ?
Coach: Yes, he waited too long on the flip turn.

Jonah s Attempt For Escape His Divine Mission
Jonah s Attempt to Escape His Divine Mission The book of Jonah is a fascinating one. It is full of
intrigue, suspense, questions, and unbelievable events that let the discerning believer in on the
awesome power of God s correction, His love, and especially His grace. For some reason Jonah,
though a prophet of God who seemingly was willing to follow the Lord s commands, did not adopt the
grace attribute of God s character. Jonah was judgmental, as human beings often are, and he could not
see past the egregious sin of Nineveh in order to understand the grace and the heart of God. Nineveh
was a city saturated with sin. Its inhabitants performed evil deeds in the sight of God. The Assyrian
empire ruled this very important city and all of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He wanted Nineveh totally destroyed. Jonah did not believed that the Ninevites deserved another
chance, possibly because of the ferociousness of their sin, so he decided that he was not going to bring
the prophetic word of God before them. Knowing that his words had the power to change people s
minds, Jonah did not want even the slightest chance of Nineveh repenting to God (Jonah 1:3). Some
ministers in modern day would be wise to revisit the book of Jonah. So many refuse to preach in
certain places because they feel the sin is too great, or that God cannot meet the need, or even that
they are not the right person to bring the word to that group of people. They will claim, as Jonah did,
that the people do not deserve mercy; therefore, it is better to run from the task (and God) than to
preach a word that might change the hearts of man. In running from God, readers can see just how
stubborn and steadfast in his convictions Jonah was. He boarded a boat to Tarshish hoping foolishly to
escape the presence of the Lord (Jonah 1:3). This is an interesting tactic because as a prophet of God,
and a very successful prophet at that, Jonah knew that there was no where he could go to escape God.
For the reader, one would do well to remember that God omnipresent. He is everywhere all the time.
He is also omniscient, so he hears every thought that enters the mind and knows the exact intentions of
each person s

The Lion King Essay
Disney s success continued in adapting their hit animated film into a theatrical phenomenon. I finally
got to go see the musical version of The Lion King last week, and the first few words that come to my
mind are: amazing, stunning, and unbelievable! My expectations were met, as my eyes grew wider
with the bright, colorful lights, breath taking costumes, and the superb music of the first scene. I was a
little unsure at first, wondering how in the world Disney was going to manage putting a film starring
non human characters, and animated ones at that, onto a three dimensional stage. Disney never ceases
to amaze me. The Lion King was one of the many impressive displays of an elaborate musical
production that I have ever had the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A bloody battle with the lionesses and the hyenas left Simba and Scar head to head in a battle for the
truth. Scar reveals that he in fact killed Mufasa and blames the hyenas for everything. In turn, the
hyenas change their loyalty towards Scar and kill him. Simba regains Pride Rock and circle of life
begins once more.
The Lion King was a festive and fantastic production. The success relied heavily on its use of masks
and costumes to make the production a complete musical. For starters, director Julie Taymor turned
the cartoon movie s story into a musical that takes not only the movie, but also the concept of
theatrical spectacle to a new level. The cartoon characters have been reinvented with wildly
imaginative masks and puppets, (co designed by Michael Curry) with actors and mask/puppets clearly
visible to the audience. The costumes, an extension of the masks, are equally canny. The hard to top

on stilts, leaping antelopes a lumbering giant, and a baby elephant with Afrikan batik ears, and
swooping birds.
The pop sound of Elton John and Tim Rice is not only present but includes three added numbers. The
most important musical addition, however, stems from the exciting African rhythms by Lebo M. His

language for the audience to respond to its

Karl Contoh Research Paper
Karl Barth was a mid 20th century Swiss theologian. Born in Basel, he is considered to be one of the
if not the greatest theologian of the 20th century. Working both as a pastor and a theologian at
different points in his life, he produced the massive 7,500 page work Church Dogmatics. A champion
of neo orthodoxy, he sought to change the direction of theology from the liberal slant it had taken,
causing him to develop a very Christocentric theology.
For Barth, the Bible is not itself the revelation of God. Rather, it is the record of the revelation of God.
It is a way by which the church recalls and attests to God s work in the past (284). We therefore do the
Bible a disservice when we think that it is God s revelation. It is meant to point ... Show more content

Whatever his reason for thinking this, it must appear so obvious to him as to be unnecessary to
mention to his readers. He also assumes that modern people are now incapable of believing in
supernatural or mythic assertions. However, speaking purely from an observational perspective that
does not seem to be the case. In reality, there are probably billions of people going about their daily
lives using technology while simultaneously believing in the supernatural. The problem seems not to
be with the technology itself, but with a certain philosophy that has placed the technology within a
certain context for certain people. Namely, metaphysical naturalism. The task of Christianity, then, is
to combat this philosophy, not destroy itself from within by removing most of its truth content. For,
while Bultmann does not think that the essence of Christianity is contained in the mythology, in this
he is mistaken. It may be possible to draw a philosophy from Christian principles, ideas and stories,
but this is not Christianity. Christianity must be bound up in things like the atonement and the
resurrection. Without these, you merely have a life philosophy and ethics which is similar to a
Christian philosophy and ethics, but comes from a different source. There is, however, here something
that may be instructive. While Bultmann s basic assumptions are wrong, it is possible that along the
road of his demythologization he will uncover important parts of a Christian philosophy of life. These
should be embraced, despite the fact that in no serious sense in Bultmann a

Oliver Wendell Holmes The Path Of The Law
THE PATH OF THE LAW BY OLIVER WENDELL HOLMES, JR.
The Path of the Law , originally put forth in the form of a speech, was presented by
Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. in the year 1897. He is considered as one of the forerunners of American
Legal Realism. In The Path of the Law, broadly speaking,
Holmes speaks about the Prediction Theory of law, the Bad Man Account of the law, and his criticism
of Legal Formalism. In this paper, the reader will find arguments either for or against these theories.
Holmes starts The Path of the Law with the Prediction Theory. He states that law is not a mystery but
a well known profession. In any given legal setup, the lives of people are governed by the command
of the law. The law lays down fixed rules and
regulations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Langdell s formalism is largely based on logic and codified laws. The judges simply apply the law of
the land to the issue at hand. They are bound by the letter of the law. Holmes criticized this form of
formalism by stating that, The life of the law has not been logic: it has been experience .6 In other
words, the way law has been practiced and its growth over the years has been based not on how the
judges deduce the laws from statutes and apply them, but how they apply laws is based on what they
feel is correct. Such decisions may seem arbitrary, but they are actually based on logical reasoning in
accordance with laws in force.
However, to critique Holmes s stand, one may say that a law needs to be uniform so that there is no
ambiguity as to what the stance of a law is with regard to a particular manner. An example from recent
times in India, with regard to the problems faced by following a legal realism model would be the Naz
Foundation case. This case was with regard to consensual sex amongst members of the same gender.

Court ruled in favour of consensual sex amongst members of the same

The Cost Of Playing Hockey At The Elite Level
The cost of playing in hockey at the elite level is simply just too expensive for a typical middle class
Canadian family to be able to afford. Hockey Academies are private schools, which are a luxury where
you go to school and practice and perfect your skills as a hockey player at the same time. Personal
Training and Hockey Schools are tools that could be used to become a better hockey player by getting
stronger, faster and more practice time during the off season. The raise in prices for ice time, leagues
and Equipment has crippled families earnings every season. The middle class family simply cannot
afford these luxuries to help their kids become better hockey players. The middle class families are
looking for other ways of getting money to support their child throughout sport. These factors are
making hockey less competitive at the younger ages as there is an income discrimination within the
sport of hockey, the numbers of participants are lower, less players are keeping with the sport, and
kids are joining other cheaper sports. Well, Violence is the reason why the are moving away from the
sport. Violence is an issue, but there was more violence in the sport in the earlier days. We still have

The Different Levels Of Law Enforcement

enforcement within the United States who penalizes citizens who violate them. These agencies include
federal, state, and local law enforcement who conducts operation on different levels. Each law
enforcement agency is assigned specific duties within their jurisdiction. In order to maintain peace and
order within the United States law enforcement officers are called to duty to serve day in and day out
to protect public safety. Some believe that law enforcement is unorganized. However, these different

should maintain cooperation with each other in order to maintain balance and order with their

I think the multiple layers of police agencies within the United States benefits and provides better
outcome for the community as a whole. This has allowed some communities to gain the police trust
making it a part of the solution. However, a regional police force which would include different
participants from all communities could be useful during certain cases. For example, a drug dealer is
wanted in one city and is known to operate elsewhere within the state. The local law enforcement has
a lead but cannot execute a warrant based on the limitation of the authority it has. A special organized
crime unit (regional) could be assembled including the different officers from all communities to serve

Gary Soto
Gary Soto was born in Fresno, California, in April, 1952, to working class Mexican American parents.
At a young age, he worked in the fields of the San Joaquin Valley. He was not academically motivated
as a child, but became interested in poetry during his high school years. Soto uses his cultural
experiences lead him to write about his character how he does and throughout all of his short stories,

Gary grew up in a poor Catholic household. His father and grandfather had blue collar jobs and his
mother peeled potatoes. Because of the family s poverty, exacerbated by the father s early death in a
work related accident, Soto was forced to earn money as an agricultural laborer in the San Joaquin
Valley and at a tire retread factory in Fresno. Although he never mentions it in his poems, Soto does
have an impressive academic background: He was graduated magna cum laude from California State

Tim Kenda English 102 Short Story Essay 2/28/10 Heroism Through Choice When people think of

classified as heroes because of their willingness to defy the authoritive forces around them, whether it
be the store manager Lengel in A P or the Handicapper General in Harrison Bergeron, as well as their

Marijuana Side Effects
Perhaps more so than with any other illegal drug, side effects resulting from marijuana use can vary
widely. What side effects are felt is chiefly determined by the user s tolerance to tetrahydrocannabinol,
or THC, the active ingredient of marijuana plants. As with many other mind altering drugs, a user s
state of mind before using the drug plays a large part in the quality of the experience, as well as what
side effects are experienced. Side Effects in the Short Term People who use marijuana do so chiefly to
experience a change in their perception, increase their relaxation, and to feel good in general. While
consuming marijuana is usually reported to be a pleasureful activity by most users, harsh experiences
known as bad trips can occur. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Respiratory problems may arise from continued use as well as the usual coughing and wheezing
associated with smoking marijuana. Other common side effects of marijuana are decreased motor
skills, light headedness, and redness of the eyes. Long Term Effects of Marijuana Use When a person
has been using marijuana regularly over an extended period of time, many changes in mood and in
some cases, mental health, may take place. Short and long term memory are both decreased with
repeated usage of the drug. As tolerance to the psychoactive chemical THC is increased, as is the
amount of marijuana needed to afford the marijuana user an acceptable high. A user s mood may be
affected negatively by this need to use more drugs to get high. After use of marijuana has been
stopped, withdrawal symptoms can occur. The most common is dissatisfaction with life while not
high, resulting in a desire to consume the drug. Trouble sleeping is another minor symptom that results
from cessation of marijuana usage. Some studies have even shown that marijuana users are more
likely to develop mental health issues as severe as psychosis as opposed to people who do not use. On

appear simple and even trite to some a young man falls in love with a woman he can never be with
and deludes himself into believing that she loves him too only to be severely disappointed in the end.

In his delusional quest to consider himself unique and then prove it, he had only used Lotte as an
excuse. When it is clear that Lotte is not interested in him, Werther still keeps on deceiving himself by
decoding her words and actions. In one scene, after his frustrated explosion, Lotte sternly tells him off:
I was, please, to think of myself, Werther then tries to decode her words as Angel! For you I have to
live! (48). At the very first perceived sign of her interest, Werther declares: [She] loves me .and how
precious I have become to myself, how I I can say this to you, who have understanding for such
emotions how I worship at my own altar since I know that she loves me! (50 51). Romantics viewed
genius as some kind of tragedy in itself. For some odd reasons greater intellectual power was seen as a
magnet for chaos and suffering. Werther seems to understand this better than anyone else around him
and thus predicts and almost expects a tragic ending for himself. Werther becomes fatalistic in his
views since he subscribes to romantic views on genius and its connection with fatality. He writes to
William: why genius so rarely breaks its bonds, why it so seldom bursts upon us like a raging torrent
to shatter our astounded souls? My friend, it is because of the sober gentlemen who reside on either

Gandhi: The Essence of Civil Disobedience A vocal minority should not be in control over an
oppressed majority. History has repeated itself in correcting bent ways of society, seen through the
Civil Rights Movement, the Confederates vs. the Union, slaves against slave owners, and India as a
country, as opposed to a British Colony. Henry David Thoreau s Civil Disobedience had an influence
on most all modern acts of clearing corruption, including the works of the Mahatma, Mohandas
Karamchand Gandhi. Noted in Thoreau s essay is that the practical reason why a majority are
permitted to rule is not because they are most likely to be in the right... but because they are physically

A Brief History Of Rock And Roll And The Woodstock Music...
A Brief History of Rock and Roll and The Woodstock Music Festival of 1969
Throughout history, major social transformations have taken place that has changed how people
perceive themselves and the world around them. With each social reformation, cultural forms and
institutions also change as well as their meanings. For Example, the development of recording and
electronic communication within United States capitalism spurred the unique coming together of
music traditions in twentieth century United States society. The development of these technologies
allowed music to reach beyond regional boundaries, which led to the clashing of vastly different
cultures of all parts of the United States. The most influential form of music spread across ... Show

Such double images were nothing new in blues music (which was mostly limited in exposure to
jukeboxes and clubs) but were new to the radio airwaves. After the success of Good Rocking Tonight
many other rhythm and blues artists used similar titles through the late 1940s including a song called
Rock and Roll recorded by Wild Bill Moore in 1949. These songs were mostly played as part of
rhythm and blues, but at the time was called race music . and were barely known by mainstream white
audiences.
Rock and Roll emerged as a defined musical style in America in the 1950s, though elements of rock
and roll can be seen in rhythm and blues records as far back as the 1920s. Early rock and roll
combined elements of blues, boogie woogie, jazz and rhythm and blues, and is also influenced by
traditional folk music, gospel music, and country and western.
One example of the success and power that Rock and Roll inflicted on our nation was the Woodstock
Music Festival that took place in 1969.
Woodstock was a famous music and art fair that occurred in August of 1969.It was an important event

popular. Many things happened before, during and after Woodstock that made it important in the

The Balkan Peninsula, Or The Balkans, Is A Peninsula And
The Balkan Peninsula, or the Balkans, is a peninsula and a cultural area in Southeastern Europe with

eastern and southern European areas. Many of these areas are highly developed, but some are also
currently experiencing economic, political and / or social problems. However, two particular nations

Albanian language is a treasure of the country. It is the most ancient language in Europe and it belongs
to the group of Indo European language, but with its own branch, and with no similarities to other

it is either Slavic or French. While the Romanian language is also a language that belongs to the group

above, in terms of the language, although these two countries have Indio European language, they
have no similarities between each other at all.
Regarding the religion, Albania is one of the countries where the people of different religions live in
harmony together and no extremism is seen in this aspect. Back in times, Albanian people believed in
Christianity . However, after the Turkish invasion, the majority of them where turned into Muslims;

population of Romania is Christian and they all believe and respect all the events of Christianity.

Health Disparities In The Transgender
Transgender is a metaphorical umbrella term that covers a person whose self identification, anatomy,
appearance, manner, and/or expression is different from the sex assigned to them at birth and does not
fit with societies interpretation for the norm of gender roles. Included in the transgender umbrella are
transsexual people, non binary gender identities, and cross dressing (LGBT Youth, 2017). Transgender
individuals are often the target of discrimination, injustice and social stigma that can lead to negative
health outcomes.
Health Disparities The transgender population often have complicated medical needs and encounter
numerous health disparities including discrimination, lack of access to quality health care and social
stigma. Some health disparities include various chronic diseases, cancers, as well as mental health
issues (Vanderbilt University, 2017). Transgender individuals are at increased risk of HIV infection
with their rates being reported over four times the national average of HIV infection, with higher rates
among transgender people of color (Grant, Mottet, Tanis, 2011). In addition, they usually do not have
health insurance (Makadon, 2017) and have a lower probability of preventative cancer screenings in

In 1959, Ali went on to win Amateur Athletic Union National Title of the Heavyweight Division as
well as the Golden Glove championship. These first 3 awards Ali won was just the start of many to

After this he was heralded as an American Hero, he boasted about his skills before fights and often

History Of Sam Phillips
Sam Phillips founded Memphis Recording Services in the early 1950s to record any and every artist
interested in performing at his studio, he had no particular limits on who the artists were expected to
be or what they were supposed to be singing as long as they made him money. The early years would
be spent primarily recording blues artists such as B. B. King, Rufus Thomas, Rosco Gordon, Joe Hill
Louis, and Howlin Wolf. Sam Phillips vision was to bring artists as well as genres together and work
alongside them with the objective to create an entirely new style of music. The studio s name was later

His philosophy was similar to that of Sam Phillips in that he was willing to accept artists from
anywhere on his way to the top, if he could profit from an artist, a deal could be made. He differed
from Sun Studios with his approach to as well as appreciation for artists though as he was careless and
burned relationships with supremely talented artists. He grew up in the Bronx playing guitar and piano
and composed music while still in his teenage years, all of which proved to be important tools in his
producing studio. He reportedly had the extraordinary ability to organize music with artists to
perfection in addition to a recording technique that some referred to as the Wall of Sound. Basically,
the wall of sound was a unique style resembling a raucous roar which was created by many
instruments being played as loudly as possible, mixed with an echoing effect. Phil Spector s success is
evidenced by the many top hits he orchestrated though his studio by artists such as the Crystals,

The first organic mercury compounds were studied in the 1800s, with serious incidences of
methylmercury poisoning reported in 1865. Initial reports indicated a divergent symptoms associated
with methyl mercury poisoning. The symptoms include: loss of coordination, tunnel vision, deafness,
extremities, impaired speech and altered face sensation. Approximately a century later, contrary to the

harm to human health was suspected. However, international agreement to control pollution by

methylmercury toxicity such as forgetfulness, lack of coordination affected the research on
environmental health (Bernhoft, R. 2011). In 1914, methylmercury developed a commercial

Many philosophies are established during our upbringings, and personal experiences. A family, for
instance, is like a team in many ways. We have to collaborate, encourage, and motivate one another to
strengthen our cohesiveness. The unbelievable bonds formed within a family are naturally created
during a process. As stated from Leadership and Professionalism, collaboration s purpose is to create a
shared vision and joint strategies to address concerns that go beyond the purview of any particular
party (Anderson and Bolt, 2013, p.36). I have found that my experiences with CLA correlate with this
idea. As time progressed, our group began to understand each other, and utilize our strengths to
maximize efficiency. This is because we became more comfortable with each other, learned how to
constructively criticize one another, and developed a productive system. My views on the process
obviously go far beyond my experiences in this class, but the experiences have undoubtedly reassured
my philosophy. The Relational Leadership Model provides many ideas that can guide one s
philosophy about leadership, but there are many other concepts that can equally contribute. At the
beginning of the semester, we took the Clifton s Strength Assessment. Knowing one s strengths can be

Grit Is Never Giving Up By Angela Lee Duckworth
According to Angela Lee Duckworth, success is not based on intelligence, good looks, health or IQ.
Success is based on one thing: Grit. Grit is being determined to work hard. Grit is being determined to
do your best and to give it your all. Grit is never giving up. Angela Lee Duckworth said, Grit is
sticking with your future, day in and day out, not just for the week, not just for the month, but for
years. To me, this quote means that you should never give up on your dreams and to always try your
best to achieve them. This quote can be connected to my life, the arts, and even the world around us. A
time in my life that I showed grit was when I was about 9 years old, I took my first acting class at the

Physics Of Pitching Essay
In the 2014 season, Aroldis Chapman threw twice as many 100+ mph fastballs than the rest of the
league combined. While normal pitchers stride 87% of their height, Chapman strides 120% of his
height (6 4 ), or 7 and ½ feet. Striding is directly related to pitch velocity because of the momentum
that is created during striding.
Pitching, it is said, to be the most difficult position on the baseball field. There are lots of different
things happening to the pitcher s body when pitching. For example, Lizabeth Hardman states When
pitching a baseball, the created momentum is transferred through the pitcher s body movements. When
momentum is transferred from a larger object, (the pitcher) to a smaller object (the baseball), it causes

The delivery that comes with the baseball is important too. For instance, Hardman states When the
ball is spinning forward as it moves, the pitcher is said to have topspin on it. When this happens,
another principle of physics, Bernoulli s principle, comes to play. Bernoulli s principle says that the
faster air moves over the surface of an object, the less pressure the air puts on the object. When a ball
has topspin on it, the top of the ball is moving in the opposite direction from the flow of the air
(relative to the direction of the ball) but the bottom of the ball is moving the same direction as the flow
of the air. This creates drag on the top of the ball, and less on the bottom. (Hardman, 2011) In addition,
physics play a big part in one s body when pitching a baseball. According to Mechanics of Throwing,
When one throws a baseball properly they are using their entire body to generate a large force to
propel the baseball. The torque in the arm comes from all the forces in their body working together
and acting on the arm. During the loading phase of throwing, one s

  • 2. Poaching In Africa Essay Poaching in Africa Over the past 40 years, nearly 52 percent of the world s wildlife has been wiped out of existence. Africa s large mammal population, alone, has taken a toll of 59 percent since 1970. A majority of this massive deflation has been caused by the astounding abundance of poaching in these regions. Africa s increasing rates of illegal poaching are a result of humanity s selfish demand for an individual body part such as tusks, pelts, or bones, which can be sold on the black market for large sums of money. Poaching in Africa is not only illegal, but morally wrong. Efforts to end poaching entirely should be a priority, and with help, it can be stopped. At current rates, elephants and rhinos may be completely killed off within our lifetime. Some other animals that are on the verge of endangerment, due to poaching, are the gorilla, the lion, and the zebra. These were not the first animals, however, to be this close to extinction. The quagga a zebra like mammal, whose hide faded into a solid color was actually a real animal at one time. Its existence only lasted until the early 1870s, when the last of its kind were killed off by hunters, and sold to the public for their uniquely colored hides. This tragedy is something to learn from, and it is important that the animals who face extinction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With an advantage such as this, poachers are able to take down their targets using high powered weaponry. Some of the most common weapons used are AK 47s and grenade launchers. Their purposes: to kill the animal as efficiently as possible. The tracking technology utilized on these missions span from GPS devices, to night vision goggles, and even low flowing helicopters. Even if these animals were not to be endangered, the level of brutality undertaken by their hunters is too extreme to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Importance Of Trade And Economic Growth Of Developing Nations The Importance of Trade in Stimulating the Economies of Developing Nations Nicole Memoly Johnson Wales University Graduate School Abstract This paper explores the importance of trade in stimulating the economies of developing nations while focusing on the fictional country of Primaria. Topics include the potential opportunities for growth, dynamic gains from trade, the impact of trade policies, the role of global organizations, and reasons as to why the country of Primaria should open trade agreements with the United States to import goods from the U.S. Machinery Corporation. Each topic is explained thoroughly and provides examples from other developing nations so that Primaria can understand the benefits of trade and economic growth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although there are many instances where there is potential for growth, here are a few specific examples: opening your economy, benefits to your economy, taking advantage of comparative advantages, building partnerships, and increased competition. By creating this trade agreement, Primaria will open their economy and produce opportunities for growth in investments and joint ventures. We can see from China that when a country opens their import/export business, that opportunities for growth in investments and joint ventures increase. The trade agreement will bring benefits to the economy, which can also be seen from China. China s economy has boomed since they have become open to international trade, and imports have played a very large role in this economic boom (Carbaugh, 2010, p. 254). Although I didn t meet her nor screen her work at the festival, I have discovered that if Artemis promotes a filmmaker, it is worth my while to investigate the person. And that is exactly what I did. A few months back, Jill and I had the opportunity to chat, and in spite of her busy schedule, we briefly discussed her work within the indie film community, her various films and projects, and her in progress works and future aspirations. • 9. Jonah s Attempt For Escape His Divine Mission Jonah s Attempt to Escape His Divine Mission The book of Jonah is a fascinating one. It is full of intrigue, suspense, questions, and unbelievable events that let the discerning believer in on the awesome power of God s correction, His love, and especially His grace. For some reason Jonah, though a prophet of God who seemingly was willing to follow the Lord s commands, did not adopt the grace attribute of God s character. Jonah was judgmental, as human beings often are, and he could not see past the egregious sin of Nineveh in order to understand the grace and the heart of God. Nineveh was a city saturated with sin. Its inhabitants performed evil deeds in the sight of God. The Assyrian empire ruled this very important city and all of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He wanted Nineveh totally destroyed. Jonah did not believed that the Ninevites deserved another chance, possibly because of the ferociousness of their sin, so he decided that he was not going to bring the prophetic word of God before them. Knowing that his words had the power to change people s minds, Jonah did not want even the slightest chance of Nineveh repenting to God (Jonah 1:3). Some ministers in modern day would be wise to revisit the book of Jonah. So many refuse to preach in certain places because they feel the sin is too great, or that God cannot meet the need, or even that they are not the right person to bring the word to that group of people. They will claim, as Jonah did, that the people do not deserve mercy; therefore, it is better to run from the task (and God) than to preach a word that might change the hearts of man. In running from God, readers can see just how stubborn and steadfast in his convictions Jonah was. He boarded a boat to Tarshish hoping foolishly to escape the presence of the Lord (Jonah 1:3). This is an interesting tactic because as a prophet of God, and a very successful prophet at that, Jonah knew that there was no where he could go to escape God. For the reader, one would do well to remember that God omnipresent. He is everywhere all the time. He is also omniscient, so he hears every thought that enters the mind and knows the exact intentions of each person s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The success relied heavily on its use of masks and costumes to make the production a complete musical. For starters, director Julie Taymor turned the cartoon movie s story into a musical that takes not only the movie, but also the concept of theatrical spectacle to a new level. The cartoon characters have been reinvented with wildly imaginative masks and puppets, (co designed by Michael Curry) with actors and mask/puppets clearly visible to the audience. The costumes, an extension of the masks, are equally canny. The hard to top quot;Circle of Love quot; opening number is a parade that fills the entire theater. Working both as a pastor and a theologian at different points in his life, he produced the massive 7,500 page work Church Dogmatics. A champion of neo orthodoxy, he sought to change the direction of theology from the liberal slant it had taken, causing him to develop a very Christocentric theology. For Barth, the Bible is not itself the revelation of God. Rather, it is the record of the revelation of God. It is a way by which the church recalls and attests to God s work in the past (284). In reality, there are probably billions of people going about their daily lives using technology while simultaneously believing in the supernatural. The problem seems not to be with the technology itself, but with a certain philosophy that has placed the technology within a certain context for certain people. Namely, metaphysical naturalism. The task of Christianity, then, is to combat this philosophy, not destroy itself from within by removing most of its truth content. For, while Bultmann does not think that the essence of Christianity is contained in the mythology, in this he is mistaken. It may be possible to draw a philosophy from Christian principles, ideas and stories, but this is not Christianity. Christianity must be bound up in things like the atonement and the resurrection. Without these, you merely have a life philosophy and ethics which is similar to a Christian philosophy and ethics, but comes from a different source. There is, however, here something that may be instructive. In The Path of the Law, broadly speaking, Holmes speaks about the Prediction Theory of law, the Bad Man Account of the law, and his criticism of Legal Formalism. In this paper, the reader will find arguments either for or against these theories. Holmes starts The Path of the Law with the Prediction Theory. The judges simply apply the law of the land to the issue at hand. They are bound by the letter of the law. Such decisions may seem arbitrary, but they are actually based on logical reasoning in accordance with laws in force. However, to critique Holmes s stand, one may say that a law needs to be uniform so that there is no ambiguity as to what the stance of a law is with regard to a particular manner. Werther seems to understand this better than anyone else around him and thus predicts and almost expects a tragic ending for himself. Werther becomes fatalistic in his views since he subscribes to romantic views on genius and its connection with fatality. While normal pitchers stride 87% of their height, Chapman strides 120% of his height (6 4 ), or 7 and ½ feet. Striding is directly related to pitch velocity because of the momentum that is created during striding. Pitching, it is said, to be the most difficult position on the baseball field. There are lots of different things happening to the pitcher s body when pitching. The delivery that comes with the baseball is important too. For instance, Hardman states When the ball is spinning forward as it moves, the pitcher is said to have topspin on it. When this happens, another principle of physics, Bernoulli s principle, comes to play. Bernoulli s principle says that the faster air moves over the surface of an object, the less pressure the air puts on the object. When a ball has topspin on it, the top of the ball is moving in the opposite direction from the flow of the air (relative to the direction of the ball) but the bottom of the ball is moving the same direction as the flow of the air. This creates drag on the top of the ball, and less on the bottom. (Hardman, 2011) In addition, physics play a big part in one s body when pitching a baseball.
