How Did The Royal Navy Affect Canada
The Royal Canadian Navy has impacted the Canada and the rest of the world in many different
ways. The Royal Canadian Navy was extremely important for Canada, and for the rest of the
world, in fact. It helped shape Canada to what it is now. Firstly, The Royal Canadian Navy helped
shape Canada in the First World War. The Royal Canadian Navy
managed to help defend Canada,
and helped shape Canada into the beginning of what it was becoming. The Royal Canadian Navy
defended Canada s harbours, and allowed for civilians in Canada to be safe. This all led to a
feeling of National Identity, as Canada had defended itself. Also, when Britain had first demanded
that the ships from Canada should go to Britain to merge with Britain s Navy, Canada managed to
resist that order and use it s own ships by itself. Also, Canada managed to succeed in some battles
that Britain hadn t, and this showed that Canada was different from Britain, Canada s mother
country. Along with that, Canadians began to feel a sense of identity, like Canada was truly
becoming a country, instead of just any old British colony.
Between the time of the First world war and the Second World War, the Royal Canadian Navy was
more of a symbol of National pride, as it had played a part in the first world war. However, it still
helped deter other invaders and inside ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the second World War, the Royal Canadian Navy and it s multiple successes allowed for
Canada to continue developing a sense of identity. Also, the Royal Canadian Navy became a
source of national pride, as it had carried out a vital ware in the Battle of Atlantic, guarding a huge
amount of merchant ships and a huge amount of merchandise. Along with all of that, in the second
world war, the RCN helped continue the separation from Britain. Canada, for once, didn t join the
war as soon as Britain joined. Canada postponed the joining of the war 10 days after

Cultural Development And Human Development
Evolutionary importance of Culture as a Hominin Adaptation Human beings have reached the
epitome of civilization, technological advancement and coexistence through cultural evolution.
They have been able to learn new trades over time that have improved societies and sharpened
skills that are passed down from generation to generation. The abilities that humans utilize to
improve their social lives have evolved from the very early times of the hominids. Cultural
behavior grew extensively from the era of the homo habilis and the homo rudolfensis. Hominids
recognized the importance of adaptation and organization as a means of survival. The skills and
tools developed did not depend on intelligence but rather improved social organization. Survival
required a coordinated approach where information could be shared amongst hominids with a
similar cultural behavior. They required a means of being able to alter their environments rather
than adjusting their bodily functions, which was provided by culture(Bruner 2004). Culture was
able to prove vital to hominin adaptation through gaining ability to plan, territorial organization and
development of practices such as monogamy that facilitated its existence. One way in which
cultural importance aided hominids is through isolation from groups with different behaviors like
the Australopithecus and connecting with those that did. The early man had begun associating
itself with groups that showed similarity such as hunting style. Groups

The Opt-Out System
On the other hand, proponents of opt out system emphasize the effectiveness of the restrictive
contracting out program to alleviate insufficient organs supply. English (2007) indicates that the
policy is likely to increase donors by eliminating a majority of unregistered supporters. This claim
seems persuasive by providing numeric proves. However, Fabre, Murphy Matesanz (2010) and
Hazony (1993) refutes that the variation on number of contributors might be irrelevant to the
potency of contracting out. For instance, Spain rank the highest organ donationrate, has been putting
tremendous effort in establishing comprehensive organdonation coordination. Nevertheless, the
numbers of donors in countries adopting presumed consent, such as France

Essay about Edward Witten s Work Led to a Revolution
Witten was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He is the son of Lorraine (Wollach) Witten and Louis
Witten, a theoretical physicist specializing in gravitation and general relativity.[3]
Witten attended the Park School of Baltimore (class of 68), and received his Bachelor of Arts
with a major in history and minor in linguistics from Brandeis University in 1971. He published
articles in The New Republic and The Nation. In 1968, Witten published an article in The Nation
arguing that the New Left had no strategy.[4] He worked briefly for George McGovern s
presidential campaign. McGovern lost the 1972 election in a landslide to Richard Nixon.

student before ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the late 1980s, Witten coined the term topological quantum field theory for a certain type of
physical theory in which the expectation values of observable quantities encode information about
the topology of spacetime.[5] In particular, Witten realized that a physical theory now called Chern
Simons theory could provide a framework for understanding the mathematical theory of knots and 3
manifolds.[6] Although Witten s work was based on the mathematically ill defined notion of a
Feynman path integral and was therefore not mathematically rigorous, mathematicians were able to
systematically develop Witten s ideas, leading to the theory of Reshetikhin Turaev invariants.[7]
Another result for which Witten was awarded the Fields Medal was his (nonrigorous) proof in
1981 of the positive energy theorem in general relativity.[8] This theorem asserts that (under
appropriate assumptions) the total energy of a gravitating system is always positive and can be
zero only if the geometry of spacetime is that of flat Minkowski space. It establishes Minkowski
space as a stable ground state of the gravitational field. While the original proof of this result due to
Richard Schoen and Shing Tung Yau used variational methods,[9][10] Witten s proof used ideas
from supergravity theory to simplify the argument.

Analysis Of Donald Trump s View On Political Issues And...
Think Twice About Voting For Trump
Trump s main appeal seems to be his projection of strength in free speech. This is his only trait
that carries him despite his blatant lack of knowledge on political issues and lack of experience.
Donald Trump s supporters follow him because he speaks his mind, but any sane individual should
be vehemently opposed to Donald Trump being president. Donald Trump lies with such ease and
tramples on free press and free speech, even going as far as stating he will change the laws that
we already have in place. We cannot accept Donald Trump to become a prestige leader to run our
country, he would be the most unqualified president in American history to become our president.
Every one of our presidents has had either government or military experience before being sworn
in, Mr. Trump, a real estate mogul and former reality television star, hasn t severed a day in public
office or the armed forces.
Moreover, Mr. Trump has admitted that he doesn t prepare for debates or study briefing books;
he believes such things get in the way of a good performance. No major presidential candidate
has ever been quite as disdainful of knowledge, as indifferent to facts as he is. Mr. Trump
believes he ll snap his fingers and everyone from his political opponents will bend to his will. He
is a man operating in his own thoughts in a fantasy world. Mr. Trump s main concern is winning
the election, not serving the people or leading the country. This is one

One film which is predominantly about the skill side of poker is a film called The Cincinnati
Kid . It is about poker and the levels of talent involved in such game play. The story takes after a
character Eric Stoner. Stoner is refered to as the kid which contrast with the best player who is
know as the man. Stoner tries to beat the best player in town so he can be the man.The film is
basically about his persuit to be the best and demonstrates the passion and the strain between the
challengers. For this reason I feel the Cincinnati Kid shows skill for poker and what it takes to be a
winner.

Bayerische Motoren Werke, modernly known as BMW, is the German automobile, motorcycle,
and engine manufacturing company that was established March 7, 1916. BMW is headquartered
in Munich, Bavaria, Germany and is also the parent company of Rolls Royce Motor Cars (
History of BMW , 2015). BMW s flourishing success has included the company in the German Big

BMW s aircraft engine plant was then forced to close, being that their only product at the time
was the IIIa aero engine ( History of BMW , 2015). Upper management quickly began seeking
other alternatives which resulted in them obtaining a license with a very successful Berlin
based company called Knorr Bremse AG. This partnership was pursued in effort to begin
manufacturing brake systems as a response to survive the cessation of aircraft engine
production. The contract was over a ten year span and was intended to provide BMW with
employment and profit until 1930 ( History of BMW , 2015). This directional shift resulted in
great advantage for BMW as manufacturing power was allocated to BMW from Knorr Bremse
AG because they could not handle the demand they were receiving for manufacturing in their own
factories. This allowed BMW to be accessible for governmental bodies to pursue contracted
agreements. Bavarian trains were then fit and prepared for Knorr brakes in which the Bavarian
government contracted with BMW permitting them to be the official Knorr brake producers of
Bavaria because BMW was located in the homeland ( History of BMW , 2015). Furthermore, these
conditions caused the company to pursue greater avenues which lead to the manufacturing of
motorcycle engines. In 1921 BMW created the first motorized bicycle

Quality Control Of Car Emission Efficiency
QUALITY CONTROL OF CAR EMISSION EFFICIENCY
1. Introduction
Energy efficiency of vehicles have become one of the most fundamental issue for modern trade,
business life and environment. Even though the zero emission systems hast still progress, it is
plausible to enlarge the fuel efficient vehicles with application of quality assurance practices. The
idea behind this is particularly true for the companies which is related to transportation, where even
small difference can save considerable amount of money.
Moreover, in the fuel economy website, it is mentioned that the fuel economy predicts the fuel
economy tags and to calculate a producer s corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) is received
from car when the testing is done at EPA s National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory in Ann
Arbor which is in Michigan, and by whole car producers who sent their own data to EPA. Every
year, EPA supplies car efficiency data to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Department of
Transportation (DOT) and the Department of Energy (DOE) with this way they can manage their
car efficiency which is associated with programs. (http://www.fueleconomy.gov). Many companies
have many instructions in order to inform the costumers about fuel efficiency. However, on the
other hand, none of these companies are certain on a particular car. That causes less motivation on
drivers because they encounter with something mindboggling. Therefore, we will use the quality
assurance and quality tools which

The Call For A Revised Study On Secession
The call for a revised study on secession come from one of the leading historians in Walter L.
Buenger s article, Secession Revisited: The Texas Experience. Buenger argues there exists an
extensive amount of studies on secession, but the focus of these studies centers on individual states
actions, no one has attempted to synthesize these works and write a history of secession for the
entire South. He asserts that Texascould serve as a model if someone conducted a synthesize study of
secession for the entire South. Buenger supports this claim utilizing Terry Jordan study previously
mentioned above study on Upper and Lower South, by outlining the attributes (culture, economic,
and political ideologies) of those found in Texascompared to the attributes found in the Upper and
Lower Southern states. Key to his analysis is his detailed description of the four political factions
found in Texas. Radical separatists, a small group wanting to secede immediately, shared the Lower
South culture and ideology of defending Southern rights. They believe the responsibility of the
nation centers on protecting the rights and property of the individuals. Moderate secessionists
shared the Lower South Democratic party characteristics, of the slaveholding and cotton growing
culture. These moderates also included some wheat growers from the Upper South and Germans
living in close proximity to the cotton growers that supported secession. Moderate unionists shared

The Beauty Myth, published by Doubleday in New York City, hit the shelves in 1992. Naomi
Wolf wrote this 348 page book. Wolf attended Yale University and New College, Oxford
University, where she was a Rhodes Scholar. Her essays have been printed in many well known
magazines and newspapers, including Esquire and the New York Times. The Beauty Mythwas Wolf

Flaws, wrinkles and other problems are airbrushed out of the picture. Wolf discusses the effect that
these standards are having on women in the workplace. A womans beauty, or lack of it, can be used
against her. In 1986, Mechelle Vinson lost a sexual harassmentcase. Vinson was young and
В‘beautiful and carefully dressed. The district court ruled that her appearance counted against
her. (Wolf 38) In Hopkins v. Price Waterhouse, Ms. Hopkins was denied a partnership because
she needed to learn to В‘walk more femininely, talk more femininely, dress more femininely, and
В‘wear makeup . She brought in more business than any other employee. (Wolf 39) I believe
that this book has value and people from all walks of life should read it. We all need to become
much more aware of how strong and how damaging this kind of media influence is. Women and
men need to realize that there are companies in our culture that thrive on making us feel bad
about ourselves, such as cosmetic companies, health clubs, clothing designers; anyone that is
trying to change us. The book was well written and extremely interesting. The reviews on the
back cover say it all; that this book is essential reading. I will recommend it to all of my friends.
Hopefully those who are very self doubting and considering cosmetic surgery will realize they are
trying to fit into an abnormal standard of beauty.

boxes destination or handling instructions. However, any container or box that you use needs to be

Top Heavy
If your package is more than a couple of feet tall, it should probably be labeled as top heavy. Your
package should also be labeled as top heavy if it can easily be tipped over. The symbol for top
heavy is a short horizontal line, with a long straight vertical line in the middle of the horizontal
line. At the top of the horizontal line two arrows should curve and point downwards, with the
words caution written at the top of the symbol and top heavy written at the bottom of the symbol.
The symbol kind of looks like an upside down anchor.

Consequences Of The Civil Rights Act Of 1964 And 1965
Consequences of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and 1965 The passage of the civil rights acts of
1964 and 1965 had immense impacts, especially on the unification of the American society. The
passage of the acts led to the beginning of a reconstruction period in America founded on
equality. While they did not result in the ending of the systemic injustices that had existed in the
periods before the civil rights movement, it created an avenue where future challenges could be
dialogued and logical sacrifices made to make the country a better place for all races. First, the
acts resulted in the barring of the unequal application practices in voter registration. For the first
time, the blacks were allowed to register as voters and choose their leaders.

The Importance Of Hard Work In The Short Story Hollywood
The only important thing in life is hard work (Gilb 483). In the short, story Hollywood By
Dagoberto Gilb. Luis, and his wife Marta, and their son Ramon are Hispanic, but only Ramon
speaks English. There are conflicts between each other and others act on the beach. They see
things differently than other, particularly Luis saying what hard work is or not. They do not have
a lot of money, and they are lower class. However, Luis has exceptions, for Ramon on the
importance of hard work. Luis shows irony of unforeseen difference, lack of agreement, truth, and
expectation of hard work.
The sun s out. , It s still cold. As Luis and his wife Marta Mention (Gilb 482). The sand was
moist, the air cool, the ocean as gentle as a bay (Gilb 482). They have the whole beach to
themselves, because it was winter in Santa Monica beach. Which meant hotels would be
discounted; thus, not a lot of people around. Luis believed it was a good time, for Ramon to
knowledge the importance of hard work. In addition, Luis would relate things to Ramon so he
would understand what Luis was talking about, hard work. Those boats go around and catch fish
so people can eat (Gilb 483). Such as, I work at the plantation, which is how men make a living off
the land.
Throughout Hollywood Gilb expresses their emotions in not having money, nor being able to
speak English, besides their son Ramon who learned it from the babysitter. Luis is Bitter,
critical, outraged, scornful, and miserable. Luis controls everything the family ensures, and
Marta learned, long ago you could not argue with Luis. If they worked like us they wouldn t
have to run, Luis said of the joggers. At least they move to keep warm, Marta shot back

Santa Monica beach. Luis and his family are lower class, therefore, did not have the funds for a
new blanket, Disneyland, or buying hotdogs on the beach. She lay down on the old blanket she d
never convinced him to replace, draped sweater oversell, and looped her arm over her eyes. The

The Ethical Requirements Protecting Confidential Information
The ethical requirements protect confidential information and only disclose such information as
mandated by law or where committed by law for a valid purpose (APA, 2005). In this particular
case, the social worker chose not to break confidentiality without her clients consent because there
was not a valid purpose in doing so according to her code of ethicsin her profession. Had she
complied with the court order, she would have gone against her professions ethical code and could
have faced punishment and possible loss of licensing. The justice system could not force the social
worker to testify because there was no imminent danger involved. When law and ethical standard
separate, confidentialitysituations become very complex. On one hand, a person could not fault a
social worker therapist for exposing confidential communication if ordered by the court. On the
other hand, a person could reasonably question the correctness of violating the law if believed
that in doing so they are behaving ethically. In the example of this case, the social worker was
required by law to disclose confidential information regarding a client during the course of their
social worker relationship. The social worker claimed that the law and ethical practices
conflicted, making it appear that the ethical practices in question seem illegal. The social worker
choose civil disobedience at her own risk, following the code of ethics provided by her practice,

Adolf Hitler once said, Demoralize the enemy from within by surprise, terror, sabotage, and

Odessa wasn t even integrated until the early 1980s. Even after it was integrated, the district
lines were drawn so that Permian would get most of the black students and Odessa High would
get the Mexicans students (105). Even with Permian getting the majority of African Americans,
there were only six black players on the team. Of those six, five of them started and one of them
was injured (107). The black players at Permian were usually regarded as the best on the field.
Even so, most coaches still considered them a lower class. Even Nate Hearne, a black coach that
usually dealt with the black players, described Boobie as just another dumb nigger if he couldn t
carry a football under his arm (18). The racism wasn t just within the town and the team, it was
affected other teams Permian played. When it came time to play the Carter Cowboys in the
quarterfinals, a meeting had to be set up to discuss the terms of the game. This was mostly due to

Racism In Freedom Writers
Racism is as relevant an issue today as it ever was. Old wounds have opened, and the dark side
of America is being brought to light. Freedom Writers, a 2007 movie adaptation of the 1999
book The Freedom Writers Diary (Freedom Writers), illustrates just how large an issue racism is
in society. Freedom Writers was directed by Richard LaGravenese and stars Hilary Swank, Scott
Glenn, Patrick Dempsey, and Imelda Staunton (Freedom Writers). Set in Long Beach, California,
a first time teacher educates her at first unmotivated students in English while giving them life
lessons and showing them the larger world around them. Those students live in an area that is a
battlefield, many of them embroiled in the ongoing gang wars. Freedom Writers deals with
racism by showing the students that they are all very similar and deal with the same problems,
regardless of their race. The movie opens with footage of the 1994 Los Angeles riots, then
transitions to the childhood of the narrator of the film, a Mexican American girl named Eva. It
shows how racism and gang violence has shaped her life, with her father being arrested for a crime
he didn t commit and being shot at and beat up among the various examples. We then meet Erin
Gruwell, an enthusiastic young teacher, whose class is comprised of Eva and other at risk teens.
Gruwell has difficulty getting through to her students, who self segregate into racial groups within
the classroom. Many students stop attending class when she forces them

The Environment And Sustainable Development Essay
Living sustainably isn t always easy. It seems that every aspect of life can be looked at from a
sustainable perspective, and when trying to reduce your ecological footprint this can be very
overwhelming. Previously, I believed that our values must be redefined to live sustainably,
However, this series of lecture reflections made me realize that instead of changing our values to
live sustainably, we must apply our current values in a sustainable way! Elizabeth Mrema is an
environmental activist who uses her passion of law to help sustain the environment. Sharon Clark is
a principle at the office of the Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development
(CESD), and uses her background in political science to examine the government s impact on the
environment. Finally, graduates of Dalhousie s Sustainabilityprogram explain where their degree in
sustainability has taken them. Through the stories of people who have applied sustainability to
things they are passionate about, I have realized that we do not have to change our values to be
sustainable. Sustainable living can be achieved when we combine our passions with sustainability.
Elizabeth Mrema is passionate about law, and has an expertise in environmental law. She explains
how environmental law has developed, and how governments must change the way they protect the
environment. The government s role in protecting the environment became apparent in the 1930 s
when laws were created to preserve flora and fauna

The Importance Of Earnest By Oscar Wilde
First and foremost, The Importance of Earnest is a comedy of manners as Oscar Wilde s main
premise is to satirise the behaviours of upper class Victorian society, as he knew it. In order to
achieve this he created witty dialogue, ridiculed the institution of marriage and appealed, more, to
the audience s intelligence than their emotions. However, he also creates comedyby installing
farcical features such as mistaken identity, physical humourand an absurd plot.
Through the use of repartee (one of the main features of a Comedy of Manners), between Jack
and Algernon in Act 1, Wilde displays the upper class as hypocritical. When Jack says, My dear
Algy, you talk exactly as if you were a dentist. It is very vulgar to talk like a dentist when one isn
t a dentist. It produces a false impression. He tries to claim that Algernon is being deceitful but
instead, highlights his own hypocrisy, as previously he had been trying to deceive him about
Cecily. By using three consecutive short sentences, a slow and steady pace is created; contrary
to the effect it usually has or is used for. This casual pace is hilarious because it creates an
agreeable tone, when in fact, what he is saying is not of reason. From this, the audience can tell
that Jack is arguing for the sake of arguing, since his words are not of actual substance, which
makes it even funnier seeing that he is constructing an irrelevant link that does not even prove his
point. It highlights how trivial Jack is; perhaps

the fat content and ph value. In this regard, the fat contents was increased significantly (P 0.05)
with increasing the coconut milk percentage .While, the pH values were having significant (P 0.05)
differences between the treatments. Thus, these results may reflect high fat content and low pH
values of coconut milk.Though.the pH of all the yoghurt decreased with fermentation time,

percentage. While, addition of wheat germ slightly increased the time of coagulation .These results
are also in agreement with Imele and Atemnkeng (2001) who found that, the time of coagulation
was increased with increasing the coconut milk percentage. Moreover, Isono et al., (2001) reported
that coconut oil contained some antimicrobial compounds. The addition of coconut milk while the
yoghurt fermentation was already in progress may retard acidity development in yoghurt so
produced. This might be consequent upon the inhibitory effect of some chemical compounds
present in coconut milk on the yoghurt bacteria that were supposedly in the exponential (active)
phases of growth.

Cell Phones As A Moderator For The Relationship Between...
Cell phone dependency as a moderator for the relationship between passive cell phone
interaction and situation awareness INTRODUCTION Klauer et al. (2014) found a positive
correlation between the use of cellular phones (hands free or handheld) and the rate of traffic
accidents and distraction. These mobile phones, which are now capable of not only answering
calls, but are also capable of playing games, text messaging, browsing the internet, etc. are now
attainable for a vast number of individuals. According to the Cellular Telephone Industries
Association (CTIA; 2015), there were over 377 million U.S. mobile phone subscriptions by the
end of 2015. With the increased availability and technological abilities of mobile phones, has come
the ability of individuals to stay connected to their device and social networks throughout the
entirety of the day. When used during leisure, mobile phones can be quite useful; however, when
mobile phones are used during cognitively demanding situations (e.g., driving) there can be many
negative results stemming from distraction. Even with myriad data showing the potential negative
effects of phone interaction (e.g., Klauer, Dingus, Neale, Sudweeks, Ramsey, 2006; Strayer
William, 2001; Klauer, et al., 2014), many users still choose to use their phone while driving. In
fact, according to a 2011 study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control, 33% of U.S. drivers
reported using their mobile phone while driving at least once during the

The Value Of A Commodity
We live in an age where markets have reduced everything to the status of a commodity that can be
sold, bought, traded in and/or stolen. This includes factors such as labor, human beings and their
reproductive capacity (Scheper Hughes, 2002). This makes us wonder about what really makes
something qualify as a commodity and what the qualities of a commodity are. These questions
receive very different answers presently than what they would years ago. This is not due to
philosophizing the term commodity , but due to the fact that certain factors have to be considered
before anything can qualify as a commodity. For instance, a potato can be both a commodity and
not a commodity. If the potato is used by the producer, then it is not a commodity.... Show more

It is common in Central and South America, particularly in Brazil as well as in Africa, especially
in Rwanda. Coffee farmers in Rwanda plant the exceptional variety of coffee collectively. It is
also very common in Brazil. As the coffee leaves the farm, it can either be sold to processors or
marketers. For instance in 1999, Starbucks put 1000 bags of Ipanema bourbon coffee on its shop
as a trial. We find that the coffee beans were given a commodity status before leaving the farmers
stores. This is because we can see value being attached to them. The cost for the over the counter
bourbon coffee in the Starbucks shops was thrice as high as it was for the local buyers in Brazil
(Colitt, 2001). Thus, the Bourbon coffee attains the status of a commodity at the first instance
when the farmers sell it to the market. In the case of Starbucks in 1999, the coffee was sold at an
estimated $4.00 per pound. The fact that it is made with the aim of the market in mind is what
makes a good a commodity. Therefore, without the market, the good would not qualify as a
commodity (Wood, 1993). The coffee beans can be described as a commodity from the onset of
joining the market.
Coffee does not necessarily go directly to the market. Sometimes it has to undergo some
processing stages. Generally, the first step in the processing of coffee is the picking of the ripe
fruits and taking them to sell to the processing plant.

The White Class And The American Family
Moreover, in our interview, she described what her article The Normal American Family was about,
and stated that, while conducting her researches, she became interested in the internalized racial
oppression within families. This internalized racial oppression within families later became based
on the white middle class family, to which I like to refer to as the modern American family
ideology . The white class family was the ideology that would be seen on television shows such as
The Brady Bunch, as mentioned by Professor Pyke. She addressed the television show, The Brady
Bunch, as one of the white middle class families that many second generation Asian American
immigrant students would compare to their families, and question why not being the same. Korean
and Vietnamese second generation children seem to have built an ideal American family based on
what they see on television or other American family, and that is why they have created certain
ideals and characteristics that their families should meet. Many of the image of normal family life
that respondents brought to their description came in the form of references to television families
or the families of non Asian friends (Pyke, 247). Professor Pyke mentioned that students would see
these white middle class families, and ask themselves why their families could not be the same. Or
question why their parents could not be affectionate, just like their friend s parents. The truth is that
their parents could not be

Why Is Petipa Important
In general, I don t look to classical era ballets for great swathes of dramatic consistency. I do look
for technical innovation and development, because in my big book of ballet, that s what Petipa
was all about. Everyone s favorite anecdote about Petipa is (or at least the dance historian types I
hang out with love to remind you that) he would pick up whole variations and move them around
(with their scores intact) from balletto ballet depending on who was performing and what their
special skills were. The element that he seems to have held onto from the original court ballet was
the idea of physical virtuosity in the context of what would seem to us today like a variety show

Alternative Dispute Resolution And The Different Types Of It
In this essay I will address what alternative dispute resolution is and the different types of it. ADR
stands for Alternative dispute resolution is something that provides an alternative way of settling
civil disputes than the traditional way using the courts. The main forms of Alternative dispute
resolution are being arbitration, adjudication mediationand conciliation, however in the United
Kingdom the most commonly used alternative dispute resolutions are arbitration and mediation but
adjudication is becoming rapidly more popular. Adjudication is another form of alternative dispute
resolutionthat stems from Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act (Construction Act).
This Act was introduced in 1996 in the United Kingdom. Even though the Act was created to ensure
that the process remains informal, this has recently changed where parties that are in dispute are
now serving official documents such as witness statements, expert reports etc. Though recently The
Alternative Dispute Resolutionfor Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information)
Regulations 2015 was passed and deals with how consumer disputes are handled.
Arbitration is a form of alternative dispute resolution that aims to solve disputes outside the courts
by a third party called arbitrators. The arbitrators review the case facts and evidence and gives out
a verdict that is legally binding and therefore enforceable. Both parties agree beforehand to abide by
the decision that the arbitrators

The Role of Costume Design in Musical Theater
Courtney Cox 5 4 10 THEA 1334 Final Paper Costume Design THE ROLE OF COSTUME
DESIGN IN MUSICAL THEATER Imagine a classic Shakespearian play or Italian opera
performed in hip hugging jeans or baggy t shirts; or imagine the period musical 1776, produced
by the wonderful Stuart Ostrow, performed in the groovy attire of the 1970s. These performances
would seem completely out of place and confusing. One would not be able to grasp the

Defining each character separately allowing the audience the ability to follow a storyline with a
conceptualized look defined prior to a performance was, and is needed as part of preproduction
preparations. Early performers were generally male, therefore costuming was needed for gender
disguise so as to create the illusion of the opposite sex. In Asia, the men would dress up as
women. Young men also played women in the plays during the 1500s and 1600s. Many of these
young teenage boys were very sickly and often died at a very young age. This was a direct result
of skin eating diseases caused by the white, led based face paint they were forced to wear during
performances; a very sad and gruesome ending to such a short life. Costuming also helps create
other character building imagery such as age. The leading characters will always have more detail
and design to make them stand out and relate a sense of trust to the audience. Styles and technique
have changed significantly over the centuries but have maintained basic principles of clothing
design yet geared towards pushing the out the character s personality and traits in its appearance.
Many people simply show up to musicals and often take the costumes for granted and concentrate
only the performance of the actors. Many people don t realize the

Charter Of Rights And Freedoms Analysis
Many people believe The Charter of Rights and Freedoms, founded by Pierre Elliott Trudeau
benefited and became the base for Canada s foundation. Ironically, it is assumed that the Charter
created individual rights and freedoms. However, I will argue that the Charter of Rights and
Freedoms negatively impacted Canada, and that these affects are still being delt by Canadians. For
these reasons, I will also examine the Charter did more harm to Canadians than good. The Charter
Rights and Freedoms affected the operation of trials along with judiciary powers, multiculturalism
and criminal law rights, which undermined Canadas intended democracy and assisted in generating
a centralized government. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms negatively affected... Show more

Multiculturalism is raised in section 27 in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms (Jonson). An
instance where multiculturalism negatively impacts Canada, revolves around new immigrants. A
problem raised with the introduction of multiculturalism is that for some people, multiculturalism is
a descriptive term for demographic pluralism. Pluralism can stem from the coexisting of
longstanding minority groups (Bloemradd, Wright, 2014). This created issues of conflict between
minority groups which related to ethnic, racial, and religious diversity generated by immigrants and
their decedents (Bloemradd, Wright, 2014). The Charters regulations were often taken for granted
by minority groups, where many subnational minorities (...) often reject inclusion within a
framework of multiculturalism since they argue got self determination and sovereignty rights
(Bloemradd, Wright, 2014). Furthermore, these examples of minorities rejecting inclusion
exemplifies how multiculturalism is threatened by the Charter. The purpose of the charter was to

Essay On The Enlightenment Era
The Enlightenment era, which spanned the end of the seventeenth century through the beginning of
the nineteenth, was characterized by the idea that everything in the universe could be discovered
and understood in a rational way. Enlightenment thinkers also began to reconsider and challenge the
church by thinking of religion as congruent with science and logic. Mid nineteenth century Europe
started to transition away from this culture of intellectual prosperity. As political and social focus
drifted toward industrial development, the divide between high culture and the middle class
became more distinct. These societal changes affected attitudes about morality, culture, the arts, and
science. For example, the discussion about evolutionand creation... Show more content on

Firstly, the age of the earth was still heavily debated at the time of publication. In the early
nineteenth century, people assumed that the earth was approximately six thousand years old.
Later, William Kelvin theorized that the earth was between twenty and four hundred million
years old. Because Darwin s theory depended on the earth being more than six thousand years
old, it was hard for many people to accept it as truth. Darwin was also criticized, like Lamarck,
for missing transitional fossils that would potentially prove the gradual evolution of a species.
Also like Lamarck, Darwin lacked a specific mechanism by which traits were inherited by
offspring. Unfortunately, he had not heard of Gregor Mendel s research on genetics. Darwin
speculated on pangenesis in which gemmules (tiny hereditary particles) were emitted from all cells
and were collected in the organism s reproductive organs (Darwin). However, critics said this theory
was too Lamarckian. Furthermore, Darwin s theory of natural selection was also criticized on
religious grounds. Although Origin of Species did not explicitly challenge God s creation of man,
critics were quick to read between the lines. Scientists agreed that it was possible everything
evolved from one common ancestor, but rejected the idea that evolution was the only way that
species could

Character Analysis Of Henry V
ВЁWhen you feel valued, you feel important. When you feel equal, you feel as if you have more
opportunities.ВЁ Henry V demonstrated his ability to make all of his men feel valued and equal.
Although they are clearly of varying status, he still wanted them to feel valued and to have some
sort of freedom as to being equal. Henry Valways thought that if someone sets their mind to
something, they will then be able to succeed. ВЁGod shall be his hope, each and every day. God
is his stay, his guide, and lantern to his feet.ВЁ Henry V was a great warrior. If you could name
someone that did not care if he were to get harmed, it would be Henry V Yet it would be his
honor to bring victory. He was a leader and had only one desire. He took any opportunities that
came. Once he said his mind to something, he was going to do it. Even if it meant putting his life
on the line, the way he thought about it was different. For him, it would just lead him and his men
closer to success. As human beings ourselves, we like to feel valued and equal. His men are no
different than us. As a human being, we have feelings. This meant Henry V wanted to have the
ability to show his men that if they put their life on the line, he shall do the same. Not many men
who have other men to fight for them, do what he does. HeВґs not afraid of death and only wants to

Persuasive Essay On Being An Adult
When do you actually become an adult? There are legal terms that qualify someone as an adult, but
that doesn t necessarily mean that they act like one. I think being an adult means, being able to
support yourself; as in having a steady paying job, and most importantly being accountable to
yourself. Being able to make your own decisions without asking a parentor model figure first, is an
example of having an identity status of a moratorium. One with this type of mindset as a young
adult, will weigh their options and consider their values and what they believe themselves, whether
it s their own thoughtbranched off of their parents guidance, or it is completely their own ideaand

Ginseng Environmental Problems
Environmental Problems linked to ginseng production in Ontario:
However, although consumption of ginseng has a lot of health benefits, but growing ginseng comes
up with a lot of environmental problems in Ontario.
Ginseng plants can only be harvested after 3 5 years of maturation and it also has to be under
specific conditions such as rich sandy soils, moisture, shades and appropriate temperature to
produce high quality ginseng roots (Antonacci, 2014). . Also, growing ginseng plants requires a
lot of land, because after ginseng roots are harvested from a land, a particular fungus will
develop in to the soil and so that land cannot grow any other forms of ginseng plants (Hoag,
2015). This means ginseng farmers have to frequently seek out for new land available to grow and
harvest other forms of ginseng plants to produce a variety of ginseng products. The exploitation of
lands for ginseng production will not stop as the demand for ginseng products are increasing and it
will cause greater damage to the environment.
When ginseng plants are made into products, only the root will be used, as other parts of the plant
have no nutritional and medical value (Liu, 2017). This means other parts of the plant is useless
and will be disposed as waste, contributing to environmental damages.
Also, because of the high demand for ginseng, people were picking wild ginseng in forests (in
Southern Ontario) causing ginseng becoming an endangered species having a very low
reproduction rate

Do You Want To Achieve Your Goals
Chapter 2:
Do you want to Achieve Your Goals?
Creating your mindset to succeed
Everyone in this world has its own goal. Whether to win that football game on Saturday night,
claim the employee of the year award of your company or to be able to spend a nice and relaxing
vacation at the Maldives.
Creating your mindset to succeed is the very first step when achieving your goal. This is where
it will all start. This is the part where you can create your plans and how you can make it happen.
This is where you will think of strategies on how you can overcome the challenges that may keep
you from achieving your goals. This is going to be the blueprint of your goal.
You would always hear people saying It s only in the mind . Yes it is. Most of the time, successful
people in the world start with a goal; they visualize their plan and make it happen. Why? Because
no goal or dream just appear from thin air. Planning and setting always comes first. ... Show more

You focus your mind power and emotions to it and it becomes very powerful depending on how
much you want it. It will depend on how hungry you are to succeed on this specific goal. More
often than not, the success of your goal depends on how you think. You have to be passionate on
this goal. You should ask yourself, what are you passionate about? What is your purpose in life?
When you are able to answer those two questions, you will realize that this goal that you have set
up for yourself to succeed is really for you. You ll realize that there will be no what ifs and you will

Analysis Of `` My Last Duchess And Carol Ann Duffy s ...
Several poems in the anthology explore the intensity of human emotion. Explore this theme,
referring to these three poems in detail and by referencing at least three other poems from your
wider reading.
The potent emotion of jealous love permeates throughout both Robert Browning s My Last Duchess
and Carol Ann Duffy s Medusa. Jealous love forms a central concern of the poets, with each one
focusing on different aspects, which the reader may come to identify the poems as exploring the
intensity of human emotion.
The themes of both poems show the complete mental consumption of the voice s. Their pre
dominative behaviour appears to emerge from perverted good values. The paranoid voice of a
woman, angered with her supposed cheating husband runs throughout the duration of Medusa,
seeming to grow in anger as it meets every line. In addition, Carol Ann Duffy creates an extended
metaphor of this women s transformation into the monstrous character Medusa, using members
present in Greek mythology, in order to paint a metaphorical juxtaposition of a once beautiful
woman, now a hideous gorgon due to the impact of detrimental human emotion. Detrimental
emotion being, as shown by the phrase: My brides breath soured, stank, with the use of sensory
imagery demonstrating how a slight suspicion has taken hold of the voice. Moreover, this build up
and outpour of the slight suspicion and emotion over the poem suggests that the voice has
succumbed to and has allowed herself

An Definition Of Public Relations
Introduction
Public relations today is a complex profession practiced by hundreds of thousands of people
around the world. Some public relations professionals are employed by a single organization.
Others work for public relations firms that have many organizations as clients. Public relations
people work for businesses, government agencies, professional and trade associations, nonprofit
charities, schools and universities, hospitals, hotels, and many more types of industries. Unlike the
practice of other professional fields, such as law and medicine, there are no regulations, but there is
great responsibility
Defining Public Relations
For many decades both PR academics and practitioners have struggled to construct a single
definition of what public relations actually are. In 1976, Rex Harlow made a bold attempt to
summarize just what public relations are. Harlow started by identifying and analyzing as many
definitions of public relations as he could. He ended up examining 472 definitions that had been put
forth by other academics, practitioners and scholars since the early days of the twentieth century
and interviewing nearly 100 current professionals. Out of that impressive research Harlow
combined their common elements to produce the first global definition of public relations, quoted
below:
Public Relations is the distinctive management function which helps establish and maintain mutual
lines of communication, understanding, acceptance and co operation between an

Celebrates Ovid In The Legend Of Philomela
Dr. Jessica Edmondes
SEL 1023: Transformations
15 April 2016
How Geoffrey Chaucer Translates Ovid in The Legend of Philomela There have been many
different translations of Ovid s Metamorphoses over the years such as Ted Hughes Creation: Four
Ages; Flood; Lyacon, A.D. Melville s Tereus, Procne, Philomela, and Geoffrey Chaucer s The
Legend of Philomela, each being more different than the last. Geoffrey Chaucer s The Legend of
Philomela translates Ovid by shifting the perspective of the story from Tereus to Philomela while
making her the protagonist. Chaucer s translation gives the reader the idea that he is much more
sympathetic towards women, is writing for a much different audience at the time, and wants to make

In Kline s version, there are many allusions to Greek gods and mythology such as Titan, the
Eumenides, the Furies, and the River Styx. It makes sense for Ovid to reference these ancient
Greek gods and mythological creatures because the audience he was writing to may have believed
in Greek mythology and its teachings when he wrote The Metamorphoses in 8 AD. However, in
Chaucer s work, a Christian God is mentioned several times as well as Greek gods and mythology,
such as Juno and Bacchus temple. Chaucer mentions God in his translation to appeal to the
audience he was writing to in the 14th century which was most likely a predominately Christian
population but keeps some of the original Greek mythological ties so the myth of Philomela still
parallels Ovid s original

Essay About My Best Friends
Best friends forever we said. We pinky promised it would be for a lifetime, but I learned that
some things change. Faith and I had the average friend relationship when we were younger. We
would tell each other secrets, help each other with homework, have slumber parties and play
dates, and just be fun kids together. Since we were in preschool, we were always there for each
other through the ups and downs of childhood. We loved each other like no other, or so I
thought. It started off as one of my favorite days in the world. It was mid December, the snow
fell for what seemed like hours on end. I always have loved these days. The ones where you sit
at home with your family at night and drink hot chocolate while the snow is falling outside. My
birthday was a couple days before, while Christmas would soon come after. Christmas songs
heard all over; on the radio, at home, in school, it was such a joyous time of year. I couldn t be
more happier. Laying in bed late at night, I received a text message from faith. This wasn t an
unusual occurrence as faith and I talked quite often. Half asleep I started reading the message.
Assuming it was some secret that she just found out about our classmates, or a funny meme, I
didn t think I had anything to worry about. That was until I saw the words terrible friend . She
wrote that we shouldn t be friends anymore and how she hasn t liked me for a while, that I was a
terrible friend who only thought about myself. Immediately I sat up,

or Deborah, or Ruth. Truth said, when asked which Bible character I am most like... I think of that
sheep, you know the one that wandered off from the others?
Yep, that s me, the rogue sheep. Baaaaaaaa! My 99 friends, grabbing cell phones to call and advise
me against bad mouthing myself, don t bother. I m good with being that sheep.
Think about it. Who did the shepherd go after?
You see, I face that sheep every morning, post prayer, pre shower. That s my time to write on our
book, working title being, In Spite of Us... Stalked by a Loving God. Clicking the keyboard,

In his defense, at least he showed up with a map, but staying on the straight and narrow path?
Too much of a challenge. Therefore, the sheep duet, wandered around the jagged cliffs, blind
and deaf to the Shepherd s persistent calls. We were dying, drowning in a pit of self inflicted,
excruciating pain... hopeless, with no sign of relief. Picture two sheep at the bottom of a ravine,
on their backs like turtles struggling to get up, bleating, Baaaaaa! The Shepherd should have said,
serves you right or at least jabbed us with an I told you so. Instead, He kept at us, gently coaxing
for us to stand up, climb back up the cliff, and follow the directions on the map.
You can laugh, I have. Still, I m honored to be that vagabond sheep. Grateful beyond explanation. I
turned my tail to the other 99 sheep, booing their blatherings. Worse, I felt no need of a Shepherd.
I had it handled. That is until I was floundering at the bottom of the gorge. At last, willing to call for
help.
Baaaaaaaa!
And the Shepherd answered.
An accurate description of his response is written perfectly in the 23rd Psalm.
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.

He leadeth me beside the still

Comparing Eva s Story, Paperclips, And The Sneetches
During the Holocaust, obstacles in many categories were a commonality shared by many
people. The Holocaust is a horrid example of evil in humans. It was one of the most important
events in World War II and killed over 11 million people, including Jews, Jehovah s Witnesses,
Roma, the disabled, and homosexuals. Obstacles and how they are overcome are everywhere in
Holocaust literature and films, including Eva s Story, The Book Thief, Paperclips, and The
Sneetches. In Eva s Story, Eva and her family attempt to overcome the obstacle of hiding from the
Nazis because they are Jews. Eva and her mother, Mutti, hid together in multiple different houses.
Her father, Pappy, and her brother, Heinz, hid together in separate houses from Eva and Mutti so
they would have a lesser chance of all four of them getting caught. At one point, Nazis searched the
house Eva and her mother were staying in. Eva and Mutti were hiding behind a faux wall in the
bathroom. Eva and her family were caught while transferring houses which led to them being taken
to a Jewish concentration camp. Eva and her family showed courage in trying to hide from the
Nazis, even though they were eventually caught.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 2. How Did The Royal Navy Affect Canada The Royal Canadian Navy has impacted the Canada and the rest of the world in many different ways. The Royal Canadian Navy was extremely important for Canada, and for the rest of the world, in fact. It helped shape Canada to what it is now. Firstly, The Royal Canadian Navy helped shape Canada in the First World War. The Royal Canadian Navy managed to help defend Canada, and helped shape Canada into the beginning of what it was becoming. The Royal Canadian Navy defended Canada s harbours, and allowed for civilians in Canada to be safe. This all led to a feeling of National Identity, as Canada had defended itself. Also, when Britain had first demanded that the ships from Canada should go to Britain to merge with Britain s Navy, Canada managed to resist that order and use it s own ships by itself. Also, Canada managed to succeed in some battles that Britain hadn t, and this showed that Canada was different from Britain, Canada s mother country. Along with that, Canadians began to feel a sense of identity, like Canada was truly becoming a country, instead of just any old British colony. Between the time of the First world war and the Second World War, the Royal Canadian Navy was more of a symbol of National pride, as it had played a part in the first world war. However, it still helped deter other invaders and inside ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the second World War, the Royal Canadian Navy and it s multiple successes allowed for Canada to continue developing a sense of identity. Also, the Royal Canadian Navy became a source of national pride, as it had carried out a vital ware in the Battle of Atlantic, guarding a huge amount of merchant ships and a huge amount of merchandise. Along with all of that, in the second world war, the RCN helped continue the separation from Britain. Canada, for once, didn t join the war as soon as Britain joined. • 3. Cultural Development And Human Development Evolutionary importance of Culture as a Hominin Adaptation Human beings have reached the epitome of civilization, technological advancement and coexistence through cultural evolution. They have been able to learn new trades over time that have improved societies and sharpened skills that are passed down from generation to generation. The abilities that humans utilize to improve their social lives have evolved from the very early times of the hominids. Cultural behavior grew extensively from the era of the homo habilis and the homo rudolfensis. Hominids recognized the importance of adaptation and organization as a means of survival. The skills and tools developed did not depend on intelligence but rather improved social organization. Survival required a coordinated approach where information could be shared amongst hominids with a similar cultural behavior. They required a means of being able to alter their environments rather than adjusting their bodily functions, which was provided by culture(Bruner 2004). Culture was able to prove vital to hominin adaptation through gaining ability to plan, territorial organization and development of practices such as monogamy that facilitated its existence. One way in which cultural importance aided hominids is through isolation from groups with different behaviors like the Australopithecus and connecting with those that did. The early man had begun associating itself with groups that showed similarity such as hunting style. Groups ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Opt-Out System On the other hand, proponents of opt out system emphasize the effectiveness of the restrictive contracting out program to alleviate insufficient organs supply. English (2007) indicates that the policy is likely to increase donors by eliminating a majority of unregistered supporters. This claim seems persuasive by providing numeric proves. However, Fabre, Murphy Matesanz (2010) and Hazony (1993) refutes that the variation on number of contributors might be irrelevant to the potency of contracting out. For instance, Spain rank the highest organ donationrate, has been putting tremendous effort in establishing comprehensive organdonation coordination. Nevertheless, the numbers of donors in countries adopting presumed consent, such as France ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay about Edward Witten s Work Led to a Revolution Witten was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He is the son of Lorraine (Wollach) Witten and Louis Witten, a theoretical physicist specializing in gravitation and general relativity.[3] Witten attended the Park School of Baltimore (class of 68), and received his Bachelor of Arts with a major in history and minor in linguistics from Brandeis University in 1971. He published articles in The New Republic and The Nation. In 1968, Witten published an article in The Nation arguing that the New Left had no strategy.[4] He worked briefly for George McGovern s presidential campaign. McGovern lost the 1972 election in a landslide to Richard Nixon. Witten attended the University of Wisconsin Madison for one semester as an economics graduate student before ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the late 1980s, Witten coined the term topological quantum field theory for a certain type of physical theory in which the expectation values of observable quantities encode information about the topology of spacetime.[5] In particular, Witten realized that a physical theory now called Chern Simons theory could provide a framework for understanding the mathematical theory of knots and 3 manifolds.[6] Although Witten s work was based on the mathematically ill defined notion of a Feynman path integral and was therefore not mathematically rigorous, mathematicians were able to systematically develop Witten s ideas, leading to the theory of Reshetikhin Turaev invariants.[7] Another result for which Witten was awarded the Fields Medal was his (nonrigorous) proof in 1981 of the positive energy theorem in general relativity.[8] This theorem asserts that (under appropriate assumptions) the total energy of a gravitating system is always positive and can be zero only if the geometry of spacetime is that of flat Minkowski space. It establishes Minkowski space as a stable ground state of the gravitational field. While the original proof of this result due to Richard Schoen and Shing Tung Yau used variational methods,[9][10] Witten s proof used ideas from supergravity theory to simplify the argument. • 6. Analysis Of Donald Trump s View On Political Issues And... Think Twice About Voting For Trump Trump s main appeal seems to be his projection of strength in free speech. This is his only trait that carries him despite his blatant lack of knowledge on political issues and lack of experience. Donald Trump s supporters follow him because he speaks his mind, but any sane individual should be vehemently opposed to Donald Trump being president. Donald Trump lies with such ease and tramples on free press and free speech, even going as far as stating he will change the laws that we already have in place. We cannot accept Donald Trump to become a prestige leader to run our country, he would be the most unqualified president in American history to become our president. Every one of our presidents has had either government or military experience before being sworn in, Mr. Trump, a real estate mogul and former reality television star, hasn t severed a day in public office or the armed forces. Moreover, Mr. Trump has admitted that he doesn t prepare for debates or study briefing books; he believes such things get in the way of a good performance. No major presidential candidate has ever been quite as disdainful of knowledge, as indifferent to facts as he is. Mr. Trump believes he ll snap his fingers and everyone from his political opponents will bend to his will. He is a man operating in his own thoughts in a fantasy world. This partnership was pursued in effort to begin manufacturing brake systems as a response to survive the cessation of aircraft engine production. The contract was over a ten year span and was intended to provide BMW with employment and profit until 1930 ( History of BMW , 2015). This directional shift resulted in great advantage for BMW as manufacturing power was allocated to BMW from Knorr Bremse AG because they could not handle the demand they were receiving for manufacturing in their own factories. This allowed BMW to be accessible for governmental bodies to pursue contracted agreements. Bavarian trains were then fit and prepared for Knorr brakes in which the Bavarian government contracted with BMW permitting them to be the official Knorr brake producers of Bavaria because BMW was located in the homeland ( History of BMW , 2015). • 11. Quality Control Of Car Emission Efficiency QUALITY CONTROL OF CAR EMISSION EFFICIENCY 1. Introduction Energy efficiency of vehicles have become one of the most fundamental issue for modern trade, business life and environment. Even though the zero emission systems hast still progress, it is plausible to enlarge the fuel efficient vehicles with application of quality assurance practices. The idea behind this is particularly true for the companies which is related to transportation, where even small difference can save considerable amount of money. Moreover, in the fuel economy website, it is mentioned that the fuel economy predicts the fuel economy tags and to calculate a producer s corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) is received from car when the testing is done at EPA s National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory in Ann Arbor which is in Michigan, and by whole car producers who sent their own data to EPA. Every year, EPA supplies car efficiency data to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Department of Energy (DOE) with this way they can manage their car efficiency which is associated with programs. (http://www.fueleconomy.gov). Many companies have many instructions in order to inform the costumers about fuel efficiency. However, on the other hand, none of these companies are certain on a particular car. That causes less motivation on drivers because they encounter with something mindboggling. • 12. The Call For A Revised Study On Secession The call for a revised study on secession come from one of the leading historians in Walter L. Buenger s article, Secession Revisited: The Texas Experience. Buenger argues there exists an extensive amount of studies on secession, but the focus of these studies centers on individual states actions, no one has attempted to synthesize these works and write a history of secession for the entire South. He asserts that Texascould serve as a model if someone conducted a synthesize study of secession for the entire South. Buenger supports this claim utilizing Terry Jordan study previously mentioned above study on Upper and Lower South, by outlining the attributes (culture, economic, and political ideologies) of those found in Texascompared to the attributes found in the Upper and Lower Southern states. Key to his analysis is his detailed description of the four political factions found in Texas. Radical separatists, a small group wanting to secede immediately, shared the Lower South culture and ideology of defending Southern rights. They believe the responsibility of the nation centers on protecting the rights and property of the individuals. Moderate secessionists shared the Lower South Democratic party characteristics, of the slaveholding and cotton growing culture. These moderates also included some wheat growers from the Upper South and Germans living in close proximity to the cotton growers that supported secession. Moderate unionists shared ... The passage of the acts led to the beginning of a reconstruction period in America founded on equality. The Ethical Requirements Protecting Confidential Information The ethical requirements protect confidential information and only disclose such information as mandated by law or where committed by law for a valid purpose (APA, 2005). In this particular case, the social worker chose not to break confidentiality without her clients consent because there was not a valid purpose in doing so according to her code of ethicsin her profession. Had she complied with the court order, she would have gone against her professions ethical code and could have faced punishment and possible loss of licensing. The justice system could not force the social worker to testify because there was no imminent danger involved. When law and ethical standard separate, confidentialitysituations become very complex. On one hand, a person could not fault a social worker therapist for exposing confidential communication if ordered by the court. On the other hand, a person could reasonably question the correctness of violating the law if believed that in doing so they are behaving ethically. In the example of this case, the social worker was required by law to disclose confidential information regarding a client during the course of their social worker relationship. Five years later, Adolf had the choice of going to the gymnasium, where he would further his art education, or Realschule, which prepared students for a future career. Since Adolf wanted to become an artist, he wanted to go to the Gymnasium. His father thought opposite. Alois pushed Adolf to go to Realschule in Linz. While it does use football as a main theme, I don t believe it is a book mainly about sports. The story is mostly about the people in a town that has nothing to look forward to except football. Even after it was integrated, the district lines were drawn so that Permian would get most of the black students and Odessa High would get the Mexicans students (105). Even with Permian getting the majority of African Americans, there were only six black players on the team. Of those six, five of them started and one of them was injured (107). The black players at Permian were usually regarded as the best on the field. Even so, most coaches still considered them a lower class. Even Nate Hearne, a black coach that usually dealt with the black players, described Boobie as just another dumb nigger if he couldn t carry a football under his arm (18). The racism wasn t just within the town and the team, it was affected other teams Permian played. When it came time to play the Carter Cowboys in the quarterfinals, a meeting had to be set up to discuss the terms of the game. This was mostly due to racism since over 90% of the Carter school was African American. The Permian coaches argued over where the game would be held. A neutral location was chosen for the safety of the fans. After the final pass of the game, player Clint Duncan knew it was incomplete when he looked up and saw a bunch of cocky niggers jumping up and down (334). • 21. Racism In Freedom Writers Racism is as relevant an issue today as it ever was. Old wounds have opened, and the dark side of America is being brought to light. Freedom Writers, a 2007 movie adaptation of the 1999 book The Freedom Writers Diary (Freedom Writers), illustrates just how large an issue racism is in society. Freedom Writers was directed by Richard LaGravenese and stars Hilary Swank, Scott Glenn, Patrick Dempsey, and Imelda Staunton (Freedom Writers). Set in Long Beach, California, a first time teacher educates her at first unmotivated students in English while giving them life lessons and showing them the larger world around them. Those students live in an area that is a battlefield, many of them embroiled in the ongoing gang wars. Freedom Writers deals with racism by showing the students that they are all very similar and deal with the same problems, regardless of their race. The movie opens with footage of the 1994 Los Angeles riots, then transitions to the childhood of the narrator of the film, a Mexican American girl named Eva. It shows how racism and gang violence has shaped her life, with her father being arrested for a crime he didn t commit and being shot at and beat up among the various examples. We then meet Erin Gruwell, an enthusiastic young teacher, whose class is comprised of Eva and other at risk teens. Gruwell has difficulty getting through to her students, who self segregate into racial groups within the classroom. Many students stop attending class when she forces them ... It seems that every aspect of life can be looked at from a sustainable perspective, and when trying to reduce your ecological footprint this can be very overwhelming. Previously, I believed that our values must be redefined to live sustainably, However, this series of lecture reflections made me realize that instead of changing our values to live sustainably, we must apply our current values in a sustainable way! Elizabeth Mrema is an environmental activist who uses her passion of law to help sustain the environment. Sharon Clark is a principle at the office of the Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development (CESD), and uses her background in political science to examine the government s impact on the environment. Finally, graduates of Dalhousie s Sustainabilityprogram explain where their degree in sustainability has taken them. Through the stories of people who have applied sustainability to things they are passionate about, I have realized that we do not have to change our values to be sustainable. Sustainable living can be achieved when we combine our passions with sustainability. Elizabeth Mrema is passionate about law, and has an expertise in environmental law. • 23. The Importance Of Earnest By Oscar Wilde First and foremost, The Importance of Earnest is a comedy of manners as Oscar Wilde s main premise is to satirise the behaviours of upper class Victorian society, as he knew it. In order to achieve this he created witty dialogue, ridiculed the institution of marriage and appealed, more, to the audience s intelligence than their emotions. However, he also creates comedyby installing farcical features such as mistaken identity, physical humourand an absurd plot. Through the use of repartee (one of the main features of a Comedy of Manners), between Jack and Algernon in Act 1, Wilde displays the upper class as hypocritical. When Jack says, My dear Algy, you talk exactly as if you were a dentist. It is very vulgar to talk like a dentist when one isn t a dentist. It produces a false impression. He tries to claim that Algernon is being deceitful but instead, highlights his own hypocrisy, as previously he had been trying to deceive him about Cecily. By using three consecutive short sentences, a slow and steady pace is created; contrary to the effect it usually has or is used for. This casual pace is hilarious because it creates an agreeable tone, when in fact, what he is saying is not of reason. From this, the audience can tell that Jack is arguing for the sake of arguing, since his words are not of actual substance, which makes it even funnier seeing that he is constructing an irrelevant link that does not even prove his point. It highlights how trivial Jack is; perhaps ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moreover, Isono et al., (2001) reported that coconut oil contained some antimicrobial compounds. The addition of coconut milk while the yoghurt fermentation was already in progress may retard acidity development in yoghurt so produced. • 30. Cell Phones As A Moderator For The Relationship Between... Cell phone dependency as a moderator for the relationship between passive cell phone interaction and situation awareness INTRODUCTION Klauer et al. (2014) found a positive correlation between the use of cellular phones (hands free or handheld) and the rate of traffic accidents and distraction. These mobile phones, which are now capable of not only answering calls, but are also capable of playing games, text messaging, browsing the internet, etc. are now attainable for a vast number of individuals. According to the Cellular Telephone Industries Association (CTIA; 2015), there were over 377 million U.S. mobile phone subscriptions by the end of 2015. With the increased availability and technological abilities of mobile phones, has come the ability of individuals to stay connected to their device and social networks throughout the entirety of the day. When used during leisure, mobile phones can be quite useful; however, when mobile phones are used during cognitively demanding situations (e.g., driving) there can be many negative results stemming from distraction. Even with myriad data showing the potential negative effects of phone interaction (e.g., Klauer, Dingus, Neale, Sudweeks, Ramsey, 2006; Strayer William, 2001; Klauer, et al., 2014), many users still choose to use their phone while driving. In fact, according to a 2011 study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control, 33% of U.S. drivers reported using their mobile phone while driving at least once during the ... • 32. The Value Of A Commodity We live in an age where markets have reduced everything to the status of a commodity that can be sold, bought, traded in and/or stolen. This includes factors such as labor, human beings and their reproductive capacity (Scheper Hughes, 2002). This makes us wonder about what really makes something qualify as a commodity and what the qualities of a commodity are. These questions receive very different answers presently than what they would years ago. This is not due to philosophizing the term commodity , but due to the fact that certain factors have to be considered before anything can qualify as a commodity. For instance, a potato can be both a commodity and not a commodity. If the potato is used by the producer, then it is not a commodity.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is common in Central and South America, particularly in Brazil as well as in Africa, especially in Rwanda. Coffee farmers in Rwanda plant the exceptional variety of coffee collectively. It is also very common in Brazil. As the coffee leaves the farm, it can either be sold to processors or marketers. For instance in 1999, Starbucks put 1000 bags of Ipanema bourbon coffee on its shop as a trial. We find that the coffee beans were given a commodity status before leaving the farmers stores. This is because we can see value being attached to them. The cost for the over the counter bourbon coffee in the Starbucks shops was thrice as high as it was for the local buyers in Brazil (Colitt, 2001). Thus, the Bourbon coffee attains the status of a commodity at the first instance when the farmers sell it to the market. In the case of Starbucks in 1999, the coffee was sold at an estimated $4.00 per pound. The fact that it is made with the aim of the market in mind is what makes a good a commodity. Therefore, without the market, the good would not qualify as a commodity (Wood, 1993). The coffee beans can be described as a commodity from the onset of joining the market. Coffee does not necessarily go directly to the market. Sometimes it has to undergo some processing stages. Generally, the first step in the processing of coffee is the picking of the ripe fruits and taking them to sell to the processing plant. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The White Class And The American Family Moreover, in our interview, she described what her article The Normal American Family was about, and stated that, while conducting her researches, she became interested in the internalized racial oppression within families. This internalized racial oppression within families later became based on the white middle class family, to which I like to refer to as the modern American family ideology . The white class family was the ideology that would be seen on television shows such as The Brady Bunch, as mentioned by Professor Pyke. She addressed the television show, The Brady Bunch, as one of the white middle class families that many second generation Asian American immigrant students would compare to their families, and question why not being the same. Korean and Vietnamese second generation children seem to have built an ideal American family based on what they see on television or other American family, and that is why they have created certain ideals and characteristics that their families should meet. Many of the image of normal family life that respondents brought to their description came in the form of references to television families or the families of non Asian friends (Pyke, 247). Or question why their parents could not be affectionate, just like their friend s parents. The truth is that their parents could not be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

ADR stands for Alternative dispute resolution is something that provides an alternative way of settling civil disputes than the traditional way using the courts. The main forms of Alternative dispute resolution are being arbitration, adjudication mediationand conciliation, however in the United Kingdom the most commonly used alternative dispute resolutions are arbitration and mediation but adjudication is becoming rapidly more popular. Adjudication is another form of alternative dispute resolutionthat stems from Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act (Construction Act). This Act was introduced in 1996 in the United Kingdom. Even though the Act was created to ensure that the process remains informal, this has recently changed where parties that are in dispute are now serving official documents such as witness statements, expert reports etc. Though recently The Alternative Dispute Resolutionfor Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information) Regulations 2015 was passed and deals with how consumer disputes are handled. Arbitration is a form of alternative dispute resolution that aims to solve disputes outside the courts by a third party called arbitrators. The arbitrators review the case facts and evidence and gives out a verdict that is legally binding and therefore enforceable. Young men also played women in the plays during the 1500s and 1600s. Many of these young teenage boys were very sickly and often died at a very young age. Pluralism can stem from the coexisting of longstanding minority groups (Bloemradd, Wright, 2014). This created issues of conflict between minority groups which related to ethnic, racial, and religious diversity generated by immigrants and their decedents (Bloemradd, Wright, 2014). Mid nineteenth century Europe started to transition away from this culture of intellectual prosperity. Firstly, the age of the earth was still heavily debated at the time of publication. In the early nineteenth century, people assumed that the earth was approximately six thousand years old. Later, William Kelvin theorized that the earth was between twenty and four hundred million years old. Because Darwin s theory depended on the earth being more than six thousand years old, it was hard for many people to accept it as truth. Darwin was also criticized, like Lamarck, for missing transitional fossils that would potentially prove the gradual evolution of a species. Also like Lamarck, Darwin lacked a specific mechanism by which traits were inherited by offspring. Unfortunately, he had not heard of Gregor Mendel s research on genetics. Darwin speculated on pangenesis in which gemmules (tiny hereditary particles) were emitted from all cells and were collected in the organism s reproductive organs (Darwin). However, critics said this theory was too Lamarckian. Furthermore, Darwin s theory of natural selection was also criticized on religious grounds. When you feel equal, you feel as if you have more opportunities.ВЁ Henry V demonstrated his ability to make all of his men feel valued and equal. Although they are clearly of varying status, he still wanted them to feel valued and to have some sort of freedom as to being equal. Henry Valways thought that if someone sets their mind to something, they will then be able to succeed. ВЁGod shall be his hope, each and every day. God is his stay, his guide, and lantern to his feet.ВЁ Henry V was a great warrior. If you could name someone that did not care if he were to get harmed, it would be Henry V Yet it would be his honor to bring victory. He was a leader and had only one desire. He took any opportunities that came. Once he said his mind to something, he was going to do it. Even if it meant putting his life on the line, the way he thought about it was different. For him, it would just lead him and his men closer to success. As human beings ourselves, we like to feel valued and equal. His men are no different than us. As a human being, we have feelings. This meant Henry V wanted to have the ability to show his men that if they put their life on the line, he shall do the same. Not many men who have other men to fight for them, do what he does. The young adult wants the security of having the approval of a decision and being told what to do and pointed what direction to go towards. This is essentially making the decision for them. This type of identity status if called foreclosure. At a very young age, I was given the responsibility to take care of my youngest sister after school. • 44. Ginseng Environmental Problems Environmental Problems linked to ginseng production in Ontario: However, although consumption of ginseng has a lot of health benefits, but growing ginseng comes up with a lot of environmental problems in Ontario. Ginseng plants can only be harvested after 3 5 years of maturation and it also has to be under specific conditions such as rich sandy soils, moisture, shades and appropriate temperature to produce high quality ginseng roots (Antonacci, 2014). . Also, growing ginseng plants requires a lot of land, because after ginseng roots are harvested from a land, a particular fungus will develop in to the soil and so that land cannot grow any other forms of ginseng plants (Hoag, 2015). This means ginseng farmers have to frequently seek out for new land available to grow and harvest other forms of ginseng plants to produce a variety of ginseng products. The exploitation of lands for ginseng production will not stop as the demand for ginseng products are increasing and it will cause greater damage to the environment. When ginseng plants are made into products, only the root will be used, as other parts of the plant have no nutritional and medical value (Liu, 2017). This means other parts of the plant is useless and will be disposed as waste, contributing to environmental damages. Also, because of the high demand for ginseng, people were picking wild ginseng in forests (in Southern Ontario) causing ginseng becoming an endangered species having a very low reproduction rate ... • 46. Analysis Of `` My Last Duchess And Carol Ann Duffy s ... Several poems in the anthology explore the intensity of human emotion. Explore this theme, referring to these three poems in detail and by referencing at least three other poems from your wider reading. The potent emotion of jealous love permeates throughout both Robert Browning s My Last Duchess and Carol Ann Duffy s Medusa. Jealous love forms a central concern of the poets, with each one focusing on different aspects, which the reader may come to identify the poems as exploring the intensity of human emotion. The themes of both poems show the complete mental consumption of the voice s. Their pre dominative behaviour appears to emerge from perverted good values. The paranoid voice of a woman, angered with her supposed cheating husband runs throughout the duration of Medusa, seeming to grow in anger as it meets every line. In addition, Carol Ann Duffy creates an extended metaphor of this women s transformation into the monstrous character Medusa, using members present in Greek mythology, in order to paint a metaphorical juxtaposition of a once beautiful woman, now a hideous gorgon due to the impact of detrimental human emotion. Detrimental emotion being, as shown by the phrase: My brides breath soured, stank, with the use of sensory imagery demonstrating how a slight suspicion has taken hold of the voice. Moreover, this build up and outpour of the slight suspicion and emotion over the poem suggests that the voice has succumbed to and has allowed herself ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Public relations people work for businesses, government agencies, professional and trade associations, nonprofit charities, schools and universities, hospitals, hotels, and many more types of industries. Unlike the practice of other professional fields, such as law and medicine, there are no regulations, but there is great responsibility Defining Public Relations For many decades both PR academics and practitioners have struggled to construct a single definition of what public relations actually are. In 1976, Rex Harlow made a bold attempt to summarize just what public relations are. Harlow started by identifying and analyzing as many definitions of public relations as he could. He ended up examining 472 definitions that had been put forth by other academics, practitioners and scholars since the early days of the twentieth century and interviewing nearly 100 current professionals. It makes sense for Ovid to reference these ancient Greek gods and mythological creatures because the audience he was writing to may have believed in Greek mythology and its teachings when he wrote The Metamorphoses in 8 AD. However, in Chaucer s work, a Christian God is mentioned several times as well as Greek gods and mythology, such as Juno and Bacchus temple. • 49. Essay About My Best Friends Best friends forever we said. We pinky promised it would be for a lifetime, but I learned that some things change. Faith and I had the average friend relationship when we were younger. We would tell each other secrets, help each other with homework, have slumber parties and play dates, and just be fun kids together. Since we were in preschool, we were always there for each other through the ups and downs of childhood. We loved each other like no other, or so I thought. It started off as one of my favorite days in the world. It was mid December, the snow fell for what seemed like hours on end. I always have loved these days. The ones where you sit at home with your family at night and drink hot chocolate while the snow is falling outside. My birthday was a couple days before, while Christmas would soon come after. Christmas songs heard all over; on the radio, at home, in school, it was such a joyous time of year. I couldn t be more happier. Laying in bed late at night, I received a text message from faith. This wasn t an unusual occurrence as faith and I talked quite often. Half asleep I started reading the message. Assuming it was some secret that she just found out about our classmates, or a funny meme, I didn t think I had anything to worry about. That was until I saw the words terrible friend . She wrote that we shouldn t be friends anymore and how she hasn t liked me for a while, that I was a terrible friend who only thought about myself. Immediately I sat up, ...
