2. Process of producing a dashboard
• Mostly the dashboard of a care are made of polymer such as a glass-
fiber-reinforced PC. Replacing metal because polymer is lighter,
cheaper and easier to produce.
• In terms of strength we can add addictive such as antioxidants,
pigments and etc.
• There are many process of manufacturing a dashboard such as plastic
injection molding, compression molding, vacuum forming and many
more.
• By using polymer also it also saves a lot of cost and economic by
reducing the number of components and increased the design
possibilities.

1) Clamping 2) Injection

5. Plastic Cowling of A Dashboard
The instrument panel made today consists
of 3 plastic components
• A glass-fiber-reinforced PC/ABS
support beam
• Polyurethane foam (PUR)
• PVC skin
