Measurement And Measurement Of Measurement
Measurement Measurement is a number that shows the size or amount of something and usually
the number is reference to a standard measurement, such as kilogram. There are many things that
can be measured, including; length, area, volume, weight, mass, altitude, temperature and time.
Charles (2005) featured measurement is his big idea number 8 which states that measurements can
be approximated using known referents as the unit in the measurement process . This idea of
estimation means that a large number of objects can be approximated by calculating a sub section
and multiplying this by the number of subsections. This is demonstrated in my Topic 6 Thinking
Time Problem called the joined hands problem where I had to calculate the length covered if all
the people in the unit, university, Australia and the world stood with their arms linked (appendix 6).
To answer this I took the average person s arm span and multiplied it by the number of people;
rather than actually measuring all the people which would be extremely impractical. Thus, I
approximated the measurement using a known referent.
I showcased my knowledge of the
measurement mathematics area when answering question 5 of the Year 9 NAPLAN 2012
Numeracy Test for assessment 2 (appendix 14). This question involved writing out the scale used in
the diagram as a ratio, simplifying it and then converting it into a written statement. At first I could
not remember the method involved when converting scale and I could not

The Effects Of Fracking On The United States And Its...
Introduction With the proliferation of fracking in the United States and its impact on so many
different aspects of society from environmental to health and economic impact, it is an important
topic that demands more research and along with more community awareness. Another aspect of
fracking that is discussed much less than the environmental and public healthaspects is that the
people that benefit most from the fracking industry usually white affluent individuals do not live
in the area that drilling process or waste disposal process happens (Johnston, J. j., Werder, E.,
Sebastian, D. (2016). It is also important to keep in mind how the elites of society are able to mold
and manipulate public opinion to suit their needs (Davis, C., Fisk, J. M. (2014). It has been shown
how persistent opinions from elites and media messages can sway public opinion in whichever
direction they choose (Davis, C., Fisk, J. M. (2014). This paper demonstrates how the fracking
industry not only poisons the environment it poisons communities through creating conflict and
negative public health issues.
Methods In their research review Charles Davis and Jonathan Fisk (2014) set out to examine public
attitudes about the fracking industry, they based their findings on analysis of survey data of 2400
American adults. In their paper Shale Gas WastewaterManagement Under Uncertainty Xiaodong

Traits And Values In My Personal Leadership Model
Personal leadership model
Great leaders are able to identify their leadership style, and through continuous assessment of their
own abilities as leaders, they are able to develop and understand their own abilities and strengths.
When someone is able to understand his or her strengths and limitations, then they are able to
develop and grow themselves into effective leaders. This also helps them to challenge themselves
to find new skills to improve themselves through practice. After an assessment of my own abilities
and strengths, my personal theory states that a leader should be a transformational person, acting
on a set of both ethical and moral values. He or she should be able to be an inspiration, and
empower others to achieve their goals. Various traits and skills are the guiding values, which
inform my personal theory. This paper will discuss into details leadership traits, skills and values in
my personal model.
Traits and behaviors
Integrity, intelligence and sociability are the top most traits of my leadership model. My
intelligence is quite superb because I have good reasoning skills, and the capability to come up
with well articulated ideas, which I am able to implement and communicate to others. In addition, I
have the ability to understand and tackle even complex issues pertaining the organization that I am
leading. On the other hand, I am a person of integrity. I don t involve myself in corrupt and
immoral practices. Good leaders are honest, they can be trusted

Texas Southern College History
In the beginning of our great history of Texas Southern University, I ve come to learn that Texas
Southern was known by many other names before it became as we know it today. On September
14, 1927, the Houston Public School Board agreed to fund the creation of two new junior colleges,
one for whites and one for African Americans. Houston Colored Junior Collegefirst enrollment
count in the summer of 1927 was 300 which would dramatically change in the fall semester when
the school dropped to just 88 students. The Houston Colored College was established to give
African Americans the opportunity to receive a college education. The college progressed and
improved so much that it became a member of the Association of Colleges and the Southern
Association of Colleges, which is all about the improvement of education in the South through
accreditation. In 1934, the Houston School Board changed the school from a junior college to a
four year college and changed the name to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Evaluation Of Fungicides And Application Timing On Control...
Introduction The blackleg fungus is a major disease of canola and can cause significant losses. An
experiment to evaluate fungicides effect on blackleg was conducted by J.P. Damicone et. al. entitled
Evaluation of fungicides and application timing on control of black leg of winter canola, 2015 at
Oklahoma State University. This study involved evaluation of two fungicides, Proline and
Approach, applied at different times throughout the growing season to gauge their efficacy
controlling blackleg.
Blackleg
Black Leg of Canola Blackleg of canola is a disease that affects canola (Brassica napus) and other
Brassica spp. with the causal agent being a fungus, Leptosphaeria maculans (anamorph= Phoma
lingam). Canola is one of many cruciferous crops that is attacked by blackleg disease and losses
from the disease have been documented for over a century with the disease occurring in every
production area around the world (History occurrence impact, pg. 1).
Symptoms for blackleg include lesions, necrosis, stem cankers, shriveled seeds, premature
ripening, and lodging. When seedlings first emerge they can be killed in a manner similar to
damping off, but if the seedlings develop past emergence, lesions can develop on both the
cotyledons and leaves with a grayish appearance (History occurrence impact, pg. 1). As the crops
get larger, stem lesions called cankers develop and can restrict water flow causing premature
ripening and shriveled seeds (History occurrence impact, pg. 1). If

Essay on Drifters by Bruce Dawe
Drifters by Bruce Dawe This poem is about a family that s always on the move, with no place to
settle down for long, hence the poem was titled Drifters to describe this family. Drifters looks at
the members of this family response to frequently change and how it has affected them. This poem
is told in third person narration in a conversational tone. This gives the feeling as if someone who
knows this family is telling the responder the situation of this family. The use of phrases like notice
how the oldest girl... gives a feeling that the narrator is pointing out to the responder the family
members, as if the narrator and the responder are both present at the scene when the family s

As well as giving us an idea about how long the family stayed in this home for they berries were
also used as a symbol that relate to the Drifters themselves. When they arrived, She (Tom s wife)
held out her hand bright with berries, the first of the season, and said: Make a wish, Tom, make
a wish. The fresh berries signify fresh hope for the family, especially for the older members of
the family who hopes to be able to settle down at last. By the time of they re leaving, the berries
will have become Shrivelled fruits . The berries have changed and the hope that it once signified
will be dried like the berries. The different family members react differently to the decision to
move. The small children wouldn t be upset by having to move again, in fact they ll be excited
because they re young and it s all fun and adventure like to them. Perhaps for a family like this
the young children may have been in situations like this many times, maybe for as long as they
remember. and the brown kelpie pup dashing about and tripping everyone up, gives a very real
image of a family moving houses with pets. The first nine lines of the poem gives the responder a
feeling that this is just an ordinary family moving, though and she ll go out to the vegetable patch
and pick up all the green tomatoes from the vines, gives the reader a feeling that the decision made

Psychological Disorders Analysis
This week we learned about psychological disorders, what could be the cause of them, and how
we try to treat each one of the disorders. In truth, it is a hard task to discern which of the known
disorders that were covered in the chapters assigned for us to read this week would be more
difficult for me to live with. Depression could cause me to feel like everything I did would not
really amount to anything, deal with insomnia, and unable to find pleasure in my daily life.
Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can result from a terrifying or shocking event; this could
result in me having to experience the ordeal over and over again at any given time, losing sleep,
and closing off the relationships I have with my friends and relatives.

The Art Of Art Reflection
While visiting the SCAD museum of Art I came across an extraordinary piece of art that caught
my eye.You Diserve it mama!! by, Aaron Fowler this art piece caught my eye for many
reasons. One being it was a tribute to his mom.Secondly I liked the way the artist used everyday
items to create this piece. The Art piece was very visual with the mom cooking and cleaning
Fowler used cloths for her clothingand newspaper cutouts for the pots and pans she was using to
cook.He used iron boards to display the mom and husband in their house, the husband looks as
he is walking in from somewhere with their dog next to him.Fowler was very creative with the
way he designed the piece the everyday items and the iron board had the feels of home and the
way he betrayed the house with a fireplace and a painting above it. The scenery looks as if its a
real house with it looking messy and very decorative. Aaron Fowler is an amazing artist greatly
inspired by Jacob lawrence.Fowler is just now an uprising artist from moving into his east

Anne Frank Good Heart
Do you believe all people have a little good in them? Anne Frank did. She was a Jewish teenage
girl who went into hiding during Holocaust of World War II. She didn t want to live up to her
mother s expectations, mostly because she felt that she couldn t. All her mother wanted was for
her to be more like Margot, her older sister. In fact, she stated in her diary, In spite of everything,
I still believe that people are really good at heart. There are many reasons why she said this. But
they all circulate around the primary idea that she was an optimistic person and tried to always see
the brighter side in everything.
Initially, my evidence comes from Anne s Diary, which was found by Miep Giesafter the Franks
and Van Daans were taken to the concentration camps in 1944. This quote can be found on page
356 in lines 27 and 28. She says, As for us, we re quite fortunate. Luckier than millions of people.

Remember that she is only a young teenager, and that she s likely not aware of all the danger she

her to believe that people are all good at heart this way. In her diary, Anne once said I don t think
of all the misery, but of the beauty that still remains, this quote shows how Anne recognizes all
the hate and sadness in the world, but she always tries to look past it and see the beauty that is
still there. This also shows Anne s viewpoint on people, and how, unlike her, most people first
see the flaws of other people, but she always tried to look past the poor parts and see the best in
people. Also this is seen in the play, such as we saw how she is caring for her sister and father.
That is the last piece of evidence I have that shows that Anne was a positive

Coming up with development strategies can be difficult because it is not a one shoe fits all
concept. Many different countries and organizations have their own development plans that
specifically fit their needs, for example; in class we learned that Africa as well as Europe and
North America and Asia have their own development plans special to their wishes and desires. For
Partners in Health, I would focus on donations and getting the organization more widely popular.
This organization already has well known sponsors such as the American Cancer Society and the
Ronald McDonald House so I would reach out to more businesses and encourage them to donate.
There are a variety of development strategies but there is only about one or two that would be
useful for Partners in Health. One development strategy that would not work would be the import
substitution industrialization strategy because it is a trade and economic policy which advocates
replacing foreign imports with domestic production. It is based on the premise that a country

The Impact Of Media Industry On The World Essay
Media industry companies throughout the world has changed significantly during the last decade.
Just as once film industry has been threatened by and had to adjust to the introduction of DVDs
instead of VHS tapes, nowadays, a similar pattern can be identified with introduction of digital
platforms. Various media companies, including film and music production, distribution,
television, publishing, etc. have to not only adapt their services to this emerging development,
but also find new ways to keep up with direct and indirect competitors. The former ones include
large over the top services such as Netflix and Spotify, which have been a sort of pioneers in the
field of digital platform distribution and which are acquiring more and more power by day; the
latter ones are self production release platforms, most evident with Youtube replacing television
and blogs replacing printed magazines and newspapers. Canadian based media companies today
are struggling to keep up with the ongoing movement. This can be clearly seen from current
closures, merges that are the result of digital predominance of big american companies. Throughout
the course of the semester, both individually and in groups, we looked over various distribution
paths and explored the existing patterns both in class and through our assignments. In this carry

the industry, especially in Canadian premises and draw some

The Mexican American War Of Mexico
The Mexican American War was the war between the United States and Mexico that took place in
1846 through 1848 over disputes of land. By the time that the United States invaded Mexico,
Mexico had very few resources left to defend its nation, causing the United States to win the war
and making it possible for it to claim half of New Mexicos national territory. However, prior to the
Mexican America War, tired and exhausted Mexico was fighting a few battles of its own. The
City of Mexico was living in fear due to the destruction Comanche Indians and their allies
brought upon Mexico. During the 1830 s through 1840 s, prior to the Mexican American War,
Comanche Indians, Kiowa s, and other Indian allies invaded and attacked Mexican settlements
by using tactics such as raids. These raids claimed the lives of many Indians and Mexicans,
destroyed most of Northern Mexico s economy and slowed down Mexico s growth. The raids by
the Comanche Indians were what eventually shaped the outcome of the Mexican American war.
Indian raids by the Comanche and their allies like the Kiowa s generated many problems for
Mexico s agricultural, commercial and ranch life during the 1830 s. As a result, Mexico s ability
to defend itself declined when centralism, militarism, and American imperialism were devastating
the nation. Development on both sides of the Rio Grande in the 1830 s through the 1840 s, like
Mexico s swing to dictatorship in 1835, and the power struggle between civil and military

Similarities Between Hinduism And Buddhism
Learning about both Hinduism and Buddhism, particularly about the art and architecture of both
cultures made me realize they are not that different as I thought first. Both cultures are beautiful
and rich, and if someone takes a deeper look can see that they are depending on each other.
Many people forget that Buddha was born into a Hindu society, and his views and beliefs which
led to a brand new culture are based on Hinduism. Of course I am not saying the two are the same
because that wouldn t make any sense. However, the similarities are visible, just the way
differences are visible too, and these things make both cultures so amazing. First I would like to
point out some of the similarities and differences between Hindu and Buddhist faiths which I think
are important to understand their art. Both religions put karma and reincarnation into the center of
believes. Both religions believe in several spiritual practices in attempts to get beyond the thinking
mind and into a state of relaxation and awareness. However, they do not share their gods, in
Hinduism they share their religion with many gods and goddesses, and in Buddhismthere is no god,
Buddha himself was a leader. Knowing the two cultures basic views and believes it is easier to
compare their art and architecture, since mostly they are based on the religions.
The first similarity which I think is very oblivious is the stupa. Stupas are present in both cultures
and the base for the temples in Hinduism and Buddhism

Holden s constant thoughts about suicide lead to his own loss of innocence and advancement

Essay on The Importance of Good Role Models
The Importance of Good Role Models
Charles Barkley stands in a dimly lit gym with a basketball squeezed between his beefy hands.
He is only filming a commercial. Or is he? As he looks squarely into the camera, he declares, I
am not a role model...I am paid to wreak havoc on the basketball court (Smith 1). After he says
this, a question begins to form in the minds of the viewers. Who, then Charles, should be a role
model? Now, just because this is a commercial for a basketball shoe does not mean Charles
Barkley does not have a reply floating around in that shiny bald head of his. He retorts, Parents

That is why it is time for a change. That is why it is time for qualified people and people who want
to be role models to be given a chance to be role models. Athletes such as Charles Barkley have
recognized this need for a change. Dave Winfield, a former major league baseball player with
such teams as the New York Yankees and the former California Angels, recognizes this need for
a change. He believes that athletes should not be the primary role models in a child s life.
Instead parents, not athletes, entertainers or politicians, should claim the position of being a role
model (Berlow 31). This statement not only speaks for itself, but it also poses an interesting
question. If athletes themselves continue to declare themselves ineligible to be a role model,
then why do people continually allow their children to admire these athletes for more than his
/her sports abilities? At this point in time, the parents should know better. Parents would not
allow their kids to admire some hoodlum on the street, but because sports are in a controlled
atmosphere, they do not see the dangers in athletes being role models. As Charles Barkley puts
it, There are a million guys in jail who can play ball. Should they be role models? Of course not
(Berlow 35). Yet, many parents do not realize or do not want to admit that many athletes have a

Peace In The Middle East Rhetorical Analysis
Peace in the Middle East: A Speech on the Israel Palestine Conflict
Imagine a world where you were shot, your parents were arrested, and your home was spied on.
This is the everyday life of Palestinian girl Ahed Tamimi. According to her father, she and her
brother have been shot, her mother has been arrested five times, and he has been arrested nine
times. Their house is under a demolition order. All of this due to one thing: Israeli oppression of
Palestinian citizens. In reaction for Ahed s family being maltreated, in December, she slapped a
soldier which was live streamed on Facebook by her mother. She bruised the soldier s brow, and
caused no further harm. She was swiftly arrested by the Israeli government and left with 12 charges.

The Holy Land
The Holy Land. What comes to mind when those words are read? To those living in Palestine and
Israel The Holy Land is the center of an ongoing and seemingly endless conflict. Two countries,
both unwilling to acknowledge the others existence, battling over land that holds a key role in
their extensive history. The topic of which country rightfully owns the land has been argued over
for years, all involved doing their best to validate their points. I personally believe that Israelis the
rightful owner of The Holy Land because the Jewswere there before the Muslim s, archaeological

The reason being that in the bible it is shown that God was the one to promise Abraham that the
land of Israel, including Jerusalem, belonged to him and his future descendants. Genesis 17:8
reads; I will give to you, and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojourning, all the land
of Canaan, for an everlasting possession. This part of the Old Testament, accepted by both Islam
and Judaism has been read and re read for centuries. This verse shows that the Jews were
personally promised the land by their God. Though something else that truly stands out is that in
the original Hebrew Scriptures I have given is the single verb natati the significance of this

land had been given to the Jews even earlier than this first encounter with Abraham. That single

Pslam 122:3 5, Jerusalem built as a city that is bound firmly together, to which as the tribes go up,

Analysis Of The Chronicle Of High Education, Evildoers And...
The unprecedented events of September 11, 2001 changed the way many Americans view
American Muslims. The events brought Muslims into the national and international spotlight but
with a new intensity. From the outside, the new intensity of the post 9/11 public pressures
reinforced the already existing differences between the Western World and the Islamic World. This
self and collective soul searching raised many questions: How have American Muslims managed
their identities as Muslims and Americans? How is American Muslim identities being articulated
and received by non Muslim Americans at numerous levels of society? To what extent are the
processes that have to do with identity, giving way to a critical engagement of religious pluralism...

More specifically, Patel focus is on the religious identities of young people in a world made up
of many religious identities and secular outlooks and argues that religious programs and people
can make a difference. These programs can be the right influence for today s youth in a
significantly positive way. On page 12 of the book Patel writes: How does one ordinary young
person s commitment to a religion turn into a suicide mission and other ordinary young person s
commitment to that same faith become an organization devoted to pluralism? The answer, I
believe, lies in the influences young people have, the programs and people who shape their
religious identities. (Acts of Faith Patel page 12)
From the reading, Patel sets out to not only convince people that programs and personal can shape
student s lives of all ages but also to give the reader some insight into the ways that programs and
initiatives can be successful. In the book Patel presents his own life story, which focuses on his
development of faith during his childhood, college years, teaching experience, and the founding of
the Interfaith Youth Core. Patel s stories are interwoven and are reflective reactions to the world
around him trying to puzzle through the challenges and struggles in order to balance and harmonize
with the incompatible relations among his personal, family, social, and most importantly his
religious identities that are no doubt linked to his growing

Americans that even the country has racked up scores of tributes, cities, highways, lakes,
mountains, schools and an entire state have been named in his honour. He even got multiple

Unit seats. Encompassing the seats are Crape Myrtles, trees that will grow up to about thirty
feet tall and the age wall, which grows one inch in stature for every year with respect to the ages
of the victims. The Pentagon Memorial has an emotive power that couple of different
memorials have, because of both the recency of the catastrophe it pays respect to and its
exhaustive posting of victims. At the first point, there is a dark rock stone expressing the date
and time of the shocking plane crash: September 11, 2001 at 9:47 a.m. Words depict its
motivation: We claim this ground in remembrance of the events of September 11, 2001, to

location at the time of the attack recorded on it. The seats are masterminded along an age line, as

Sun Also Rises Bullfighting Quotes
In The Sun Also Rises the past event World War I negatively affects Jake and his fellow expatriates,
causing their motivation in life to vanish, leaving them to find solace in bullfighting, travel and
alcohol.
Jake and his friends feel aimless in life, they do not feel strongly about many things except for the
magnificent tradition of bullfighting. Bullfighters within the novel are seen as people who live
their lives all the way up (18). These famous individuals receive anything they so please. This
quote demonstrates how miserable life must be for for Jake and his friends. The only thing the
characters feel passionate about in the novel is bullfighting, an activity to past time during the week
long fiesta, San FermГn. Hemingway puts a lot of emphasis on this sport to prove the pointlessness
of life and how World War I negatively affects the characters mentally leaving them to feel nugatory.

Male Dominance In A Rose For Emily
The short story by the name of A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner is linked to a zeal in the
name of love through repressions of outside. The main character Miss Emily Grierson is wounded
and defeated by the great impact of a male. For me this narrative became a brilliant example how
the story can repel with troublesome and unpleasant topic and simultaneously attract with hard
inner world of main heroine Miss Emily. The type of this person is very interesting and
controversial. Her personality seems me ambiguous from one side and impervious from another. No

Thief Of Always Character Analysis
Clive Barker s The Thief of Always truly develops the story through Harvey and

together and are on a quest to go home but when a stranger walks up onto Harvey s front porch
he is forced to turn back and defeat Mr. Hood. Harvey unlike Wendell hasn t been at the Holiday
House for very long. Wendell knows the in s and out s of the house, while Harvey and Wendell

Harvey is easily the bravest person in the holiday house. The first place that Harvey shows his
bravery is when he is transmutes into a vampire. The narrator of the story admits that Harvey is
brave enough to do this prank to Wendell. His cry became a whoop;his terror to joy (46). This
quote explains how Harvey cares about Wendell and didn t want to harm him at first but when
Jive pushed off the roof and into the night sky he was brave. He also has a mischievous side
underneath all the sweet, caring Harvey. Harvey s joy got the best of him and turned into
bravery. Wendell is a coward compared to his best friend Harvey. Wendell truly shows his
cowardness when Harvey transforms himself into a vampire. Wendell cries for mercy and
eventually gets his way. Don t kill me! Please, please, I beg you don t kill me (46)! This quote
truly proves that Wendell is a coward. It also proves he doesn t have the investigation side to this
scene. Harvey knows when something is wrong or something isn t right. And this shows that
Wendell does not have what it takes to be as brave as Harvey. This exemplifies that Wendell is
not the hero but the hero s sidekick who later on, helps Harvey a lot. This is the most important
part of Harvey and Wendell s friendship. They care about each other. Harvey is kind about Wendell
s weaknesses.

The Importance Of Communication And Personal Communication...
Communication is essential whether you are a student, teacher, nurse, or an elected official.
Communication is used to convey our thoughts, feelings, and information; this is why it is
important to improve these skills. The purpose of this paper is to explain the actions I took to
improve my communication skills which include eliminating verbal fillers and active listening. The
situations that I have experienced will be reviewed. Next, I will recall that improvements that I have
observed in addition to comments from my peers. After, I will describe unexpected opportunities
and how I went about handling these. Following this I will identify obstacles and issues I
encountered during my personal communication experiment.
Over the past five weeks I have attempted to improve my communication skills by eliminating
verbal fillers. I started off trying to eliminate verbal fillers by role playing the colleagues. This is
a strategy that did not seem to work because as I was focusing on our conversations I did not use
these verbal fillers. As I became aware of verbal fillers I noticed that use the more often when
speaking to someone with authority or when I became nervous for example calling a physician at
two in the morning because a patient had chest pain. With the help of colleagues identified which
verbal fillers I use the most which included um and so. When speaking to physicians I would keep
a tally of how many times I would use these verbal fillers. As I became aware of the

Addictions A Banquet In The Grave Summary
The book Addictions A Banquet in the Grave was very informative. I viewed the purpose of the
book as being for the author to share his beliefs about several things. He explained his belief
about how the Bible speaks about addictions, addresses the issue of addictions, the spiritual side
of addictions that get disregarded during counseling and how the bible is a really important tool
to use to address addictions. His book also gave me an overview of the spiritual realism of
addictions. Moreover, the book is divided into two parts. Part one of the book was a theological
viewpoint. For example, Jim s story is one of the stories used to help the reader understand the
nature of addiction. Jim struggled with his alcohol addiction. He had been sober for years and he
mentioned how he is angry at God because of his alcohol addiction. He compared himself to most
people whom he stated do not have to struggle to stay... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Jim was considered to be well educated in biblical theology. It was identified that Jim
operates out of two contrary systems and he does not know what to believe. His struggles are with
temptations. Furthermore explained was how looking to scripture was something we did and since
the psychotherapeutic of the 1960 s the Christian community looks to secular psychotherapies for
guidance of how to live successfully. Welch, struggles with the thought of addiction being a sin,
sickness, or both. While reading the book Welch opens up the door for us to view the problem of
addiction differently. While I was reading the book I started falling into the thought that he wanted
us to review treating addiction through a different lens such as the lens of scripture. For example,
Welch mentions that when our desires are conflicting to with scripture, human beings do not always
live according to our

Effects Of The On Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
During 1720 1750, there was a limited amount of control on the production and selling of gin in
England due to Parliament. This resulted in an increase in alcohol intake. During this period, fetal
and infant death rates were at it highest [1]. The medical society did not believe consumption of
alcohol was the cause of the high rise in birth defects at the time. With the repeal of the prohibition
on alcohol in 1933, doctors believed it had beneficial effects to the point of intravenous treatments
with alcohol were used to delay preterm labor. In the 1950s to 1960s, there was another rise in fetal
birth defects called the thalidomide scare . Thalidomide was used to relieve morning sickness
experienced during pregnancy. This scare caused scientists to realize that certain types of drugs
given during pregnancy, affected the development of the fetus. It wasn t until 1973, when two
pediatricians, David Smith and Kenneth Jones, whom specialized in dysmorphology, the study of
abnormalities present at birth, published their article on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. In their study, they
examined eight children to determine what caused their developmental impediments. These
children were characterized with growth deficiencies, microcephaly, and impaired cognitive
development. All their mothers were alcoholics, which resulted in Smith and Jones to believe
alcohol was causing defects in the offspring [2]. Many discoveries have been made since 1973 that
involve fetal exposure to alcohol,

Beyle And Abrar Attack Essay

The eighth of July of 2011, Abukar Osman Beyle and Shani Nurani Shiekh Abrar pleaded not
guilty with multiple life sentences of twenty six counts for the capture and murdering of four
American citizens. On the eighteenth of February of 2011, Beyle and Abrar were two of the
nineteen pirates that had boarded the Quest and held the citizens hostage just off the Somalian
coast. Once their mission was done the pirates attempted to flee back to Somalia, but found their
escape impeded by the United States Navy. Throughout the altercation with the U.S. Navy, three of
the pirates (Beyle, Abrar and another pirate) fired and killed the four Americans hostages. As a

Beyle s reason for appeal is that the district court had insufficient jurisdiction over any charges with
relation to murder (Counts being 16, 17, 18, and 19) and as well as the consequent use of any
firearms (Counts being 22, 23, 24, and 25) due to the primary actions arising within Somalia s
territorial waters and not on high seas.
Abrar s argument is that he was denied his Fifth
Amendment and his Sixth Amendment. He specifically stated that he was not given the access to
any of his witnesses located abroad that could help justify his statement of being kidnapped and
involuntarily forced to work as a pirate. To conclude, both Beyle and Abrar were given a fair trial.
The court states that they did not deny Abrar to the Fifth Amendment right nor was the Sixth
Amendment he was able to disclose his witness material in his defense. However, in Beyle s
defense the locality of the murders, being thirty to forty miles the Somalian coast, laying within the
high seas and therefore being beyond the any territorial sea of any nation.

A tidal salt marsh is a community of plants and animals that thrive in wet saline conditions
(ADBC, 2010), which rely on the tides to bring nutrients, such as oxygen, nitrogen, and
phosphorous. As the tide leaves the wetlands, pools are exposed which shorebirds can feed on
larvae without competition from fish that was impossible during the time period of water
diversion and dam construction. The land became baron; an area of waste land, until 1967,
when the water originally diverted for irrigation of fields, was redirected to the lowland area. In
2006, a tidal inlet was successfully opened after 107 years, allowing the tide to flow to various parts
of the wetlands which had previously been closed off (ADBC, 2010).

Essay on The Simpsons
The Simpsons
The Simpsons is an original, satirical American sitcom cartoon, which is shown all over the world
and appeals to a wide range of audiences with its unique, yet basic form of humour. It stereotypes
and satirises the typical American lower middle class family. With its simple plots, exaggerated
situations, unrealistic scenarios, lurid colours, humour, animation and familiar pattern, it is a
typical cartoon but with an original twist. This makes it like no other cartoon made before, the twist
is the level of humour used in the Simpsons, and this type of humour is called satire. There are
many other types of humour involved in the Simpsons, but satire plays a large role in it The ... Show

Marge is also like Wilma in that they are both housewives, really care for their children and aspire
to be the perfect wife. Another thing that has linked on is that quite often the naming of the families
is used as the name of the show/programme for example, The Simpsons, The Jetsons and the
Flintstones.
The Flintstones did a spin off series and created a different sitcom that was almost identical to the
jokes and the theme, but it was set in the space age.
The only way that Flintstones and the Jetsons are different to the way in which the Simpsons
works, is the type of humour used. The Simpsons humour is a lot more complex and has clever
jokes; it satirises and makes a joke about political, literary, and cultural values of Americaand the
rest of the world. Whereas the Flintstones and Jetsons just make a joke about the time which they
are set in (stone age and space age) and the artefacts they use and twist them to be funny. For
example in the Flintstones they use a lawn mower which is really a pterodactyl which cuts the
grass and speaks. This is why the Simpsons is revolutionary, also because no cartoon sitcom has

Medical Care At The United States
Summary Medical care in the United States is complex at the individual provider level, at the
system level, and at the national level. While managed care works to streamline medical services,
and integrate systems, integration within safety net hospital systems providers that deliver a
significant level of care to vulnerable patients (Ko Et Al, 2015) and community health centers is
still undergoing transition. Although policymakers have worked to promote integration in large
hospital systems, and have been widely successful, integration among safety net providers and
health care centers for the uninsured, Medicaid and underinsured populations remains largely
fragmented. The study conducted by Michelle Ko, Julie Murphy and Andrew Bindman, in late
2015, aimed to address the challenges of integration between the two systems and propose ways to
implement integration within safety net hospitals and community health centers. In order to do so
Ko Et Al designed a qualitative study in which recognized leadership executives of five sites were
interviewed on their experiences with service integration. The interviews were projected to last up
to an hour and consisted of open ended question that allowed for participants to highlight what they
felt were the challenges to successfully implemented integrated systems within their organizations
and what strategies they implemented to effectively navigate the challenges. This study method

begin negotiations. These negotiations, which took place between Iran and the members of the
P5+1 comprised of the five permanent members of the UN Security council, joined by Germany
over the course of several years, resulted in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in
July of 2015. The JCPOA would entail lifting sanctions on Iran, in return for restrictions on the
Iranian nuclear program. The deal requires Iran to give up many of its centrifuge and much of its
uranium stockpile, while also limiting the level of uranium enrichment, and where enrichment can
occur. Furthermore, Iran agreed to allow inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency

unlikely to be able to develop weaponized nuclear technology, helping to head off nuclear
competition in the unstable Middle East, and, hopefully, preventing nuclear proliferation. Had a deal
not been struck, a weaponized nuclear program in Iran would have forced the Saudis to develop
nuclear weapons in response. It is important to note that, the nuclear deal does not prohibit Iran
from developing ballistic missiles, but the UN Security Council resolution endorsing the deal
called upon Iran to refrain from testing ballistic missiles designed to be capable of delivering

Sexual Fantasy Within The Odyssey
Cassidy Bulger
Professor Isser
Montserrat
September 22, 2015
Sexual Fantasy Within The Odyssey In the Odyssey, by Homer, Homer suggests that women can be
seductive traps that prevent or delay men from reaching their goals. The women that Odysseus
encounters on his journey home in The Odyssey all represent a different sexual fantasy figure in the
eyes of a male, and serve as a distraction that he must work around. Although the three women that
Odysseus encounters on his travels are desirable to him, the only thing that he wants is to get
home to his devoted wife. The soft, alluring, pastoral sensuality of Calypso, the purity, youth and
innocence of the young Nausicaa, and the adventurously sexy Circe are no contest to the loyal
and faithful Penelope. Penelope holds aspects of each of these three women, making her the
most sought after by Odysseus. The goddess Calypso resides in a cave on an island. The lush
and blossomed forest that surrounds her cave symbolizes the idea of and new life, whereas the
cave itself represents a womb. Around her cave the woodland was in bloom,...Four separate
springs flowed with clear water, crisscrossing channels as they meandered through meadows lush
with parsley and blossoming violets (Odyssey, 5. 67 76). These symbols of fertility are important

was to birth children and raise them. Odysseus was forced to stay on the island with Calypso for

Descriptive Essay About Ice Cream
On Monday, May 22, 2017, my mother and I visited the Museum of Ice Cream. The museum isn
t your typical museum, there wasn t much about the history of ice cream or why it was made, it
was more of an interactive art museum. There are ten different galleries in the museum with
gigantic ice cream themed art. These rooms include, a gummy bear themed room, a banana split
room, a chocolate mint room, a melting popsicle room, and more. Almost every room came with
samples of ice cream and candies, it was absolutely magic! In contrast, the drive there was not
quite as magical. The museum is in downtown Los Angles where there was a lot of traffic,
especially because we were scheduled to go at 5:30 p.m. As my mom and I were driving up, I
was questioning what we were getting into because it was an industrial area, then, we pulled up
to this bright pink building and that was when I began to get excited. Once we got there, we
were a little early, we went just outside the museum where there was a little waiting area
complete with ice cream themed connect four and a huge Jenga. Once it was time for us to enter
the museum, we waited in line for a worker from the museum to scan our ticket and I was elated.
Then, another worker from the museum came out from inside and showed us through the giant
glass doors into the museum. When we first entered, we were told to reach inside an ice cream
cart and grab a handful of chocolate. We were then led to a room covered in pink walls complete

your network. My father s workplace utilizes several different routing protocols. The majority of
their routing is managed by EIGRP. A fast and efficient protocol with minimal convergence time,
and it is easy to set up. OSPF is used for smaller areas on the network. Typically to exchange
routing tables between two to four routers only. Finally BGP is used with the edge devices. BGP
was designed as the main routing protocol of the Internet. IPX was never an option. This was
used primarily with the older Novell networks. Class A IP s are used in their environment. This
gives them great flexibility to split the network into smaller subnets based on each sites needs.
Class D E are not used. Class D is typically for multicasting. E is

entertainment for the group. Mouth, presented as the troublemaker and Mikey, presented as the

80 s and in fact, they are. There is definitely some deep space composition as Chunk is in the
background in a shot. In this scene, the camera is at a slightly low angle at in one shot and a
slightly high shot in another, and it is in a fixed position in all of them in this scene. There is not

Stereotypes And Perceptions Of The Media Essay
Stereotypes in Media
Ta Kendra Elbert
Indiana University
ВҐWhat is a stereotype that is used in the media? What are the consequences of those stereotypes?
Use examples to illustrate your points. Support with research.
The United States is often referred to as a melting pot ; a place where people of all races,
genders, and colors can live together and have the same opportunities. That sounds good, but it s
not always how things necessarily pan out. There are drawbacks that come from melting pots and
it has to do mainly with the way people think about others. With so many different humans living
together as a people, attitudes and views may arise that pertain to each specific group; that is the
basis of a stereotype. Diversity brings about stereotypes, which is defined as socially shared set of
beliefs about traits that are characteristic of members of a social category (Greenwald,1998, p.
11). Stereotypes are present in everyday society and are difficult to get away from. That statement
could be argued, but nearly every human being knows of at least one stereotype about themselves
or others. If they don t, it s not too hard to find, especially with the media being one of the biggest
offenders when it comes to stereotyping.
Humans knowledge of stereotypes are facilitated by the media, as it is one of the biggest mediums
that perpetuates stereotypes. These stereotypes fall into categories of gender, race, sexual preference
and many more. Just sitting down

  • 2. Measurement And Measurement Of Measurement Measurement Measurement is a number that shows the size or amount of something and usually the number is reference to a standard measurement, such as kilogram. There are many things that can be measured, including; length, area, volume, weight, mass, altitude, temperature and time. Charles (2005) featured measurement is his big idea number 8 which states that measurements can be approximated using known referents as the unit in the measurement process . This idea of estimation means that a large number of objects can be approximated by calculating a sub section and multiplying this by the number of subsections. This is demonstrated in my Topic 6 Thinking Time Problem called the joined hands problem where I had to calculate the length covered if all the people in the unit, university, Australia and the world stood with their arms linked (appendix 6). To answer this I took the average person s arm span and multiplied it by the number of people; rather than actually measuring all the people which would be extremely impractical. Thus, I approximated the measurement using a known referent.
I showcased my knowledge of the measurement mathematics area when answering question 5 of the Year 9 NAPLAN 2012 Numeracy Test for assessment 2 (appendix 14). This question involved writing out the scale used in the diagram as a ratio, simplifying it and then converting it into a written statement. At first I could not remember the method involved when converting scale and I could not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introduction With the proliferation of fracking in the United States and its impact on so many different aspects of society from environmental to health and economic impact, it is an important topic that demands more research and along with more community awareness. Another aspect of fracking that is discussed much less than the environmental and public healthaspects is that the people that benefit most from the fracking industry usually white affluent individuals do not live in the area that drilling process or waste disposal process happens (Johnston, J. j., Werder, E., Sebastian, D. (2016). It is also important to keep in mind how the elites of society are able to mold and manipulate public opinion to suit their needs (Davis, C., Fisk, J. M. (2014). It has been shown how persistent opinions from elites and media messages can sway public opinion in whichever direction they choose (Davis, C., Fisk, J. M. (2014). This paper demonstrates how the fracking industry not only poisons the environment it poisons communities through creating conflict and negative public health issues. Methods In their research review Charles Davis and Jonathan Fisk (2014) set out to examine public attitudes about the fracking industry, they based their findings on analysis of survey data of 2400 American adults. An experiment to evaluate fungicides effect on blackleg was conducted by J.P. Damicone et. al. entitled Evaluation of fungicides and application timing on control of black leg of winter canola, 2015 at Oklahoma State University. This study involved evaluation of two fungicides, Proline and Approach, applied at different times throughout the growing season to gauge their efficacy controlling blackleg. Blackleg Black Leg of Canola Blackleg of canola is a disease that affects canola (Brassica napus) and other Brassica spp. with the causal agent being a fungus, Leptosphaeria maculans (anamorph= Phoma lingam). Canola is one of many cruciferous crops that is attacked by blackleg disease and losses from the disease have been documented for over a century with the disease occurring in every production area around the world (History occurrence impact, pg. 1). Symptoms for blackleg include lesions, necrosis, stem cankers, shriveled seeds, premature ripening, and lodging. When seedlings first emerge they can be killed in a manner similar to damping off, but if the seedlings develop past emergence, lesions can develop on both the cotyledons and leaves with a grayish appearance (History occurrence impact, pg. 1). As the crops get larger, stem lesions called cankers develop and can restrict water flow causing premature ripening and shriveled seeds (History occurrence impact, pg. 1). If ... The fresh berries signify fresh hope for the family, especially for the older members of the family who hopes to be able to settle down at last. The Art piece was very visual with the mom cooking and cleaning Fowler used cloths for her clothingand newspaper cutouts for the pots and pans she was using to cook.He used iron boards to display the mom and husband in their house, the husband looks as he is walking in from somewhere with their dog next to him.Fowler was very creative with the way he designed the piece the everyday items and the iron board had the feels of home and the way he betrayed the house with a fireplace and a painting above it. The scenery looks as if its a real house with it looking messy and very decorative. In fact, she stated in her diary, In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart. There are many reasons why she said this. Just as once film industry has been threatened by and had to adjust to the introduction of DVDs instead of VHS tapes, nowadays, a similar pattern can be identified with introduction of digital platforms. Various media companies, including film and music production, distribution, television, publishing, etc. have to not only adapt their services to this emerging development, but also find new ways to keep up with direct and indirect competitors. The former ones include large over the top services such as Netflix and Spotify, which have been a sort of pioneers in the field of digital platform distribution and which are acquiring more and more power by day; the latter ones are self production release platforms, most evident with Youtube replacing television and blogs replacing printed magazines and newspapers. By the time that the United States invaded Mexico, Mexico had very few resources left to defend its nation, causing the United States to win the war and making it possible for it to claim half of New Mexicos national territory. However, prior to the Mexican America War, tired and exhausted Mexico was fighting a few battles of its own. The City of Mexico was living in fear due to the destruction Comanche Indians and their allies brought upon Mexico. During the 1830 s through 1840 s, prior to the Mexican American War, Comanche Indians, Kiowa s, and other Indian allies invaded and attacked Mexican settlements by using tactics such as raids. These raids claimed the lives of many Indians and Mexicans, destroyed most of Northern Mexico s economy and slowed down Mexico s growth. The raids by the Comanche Indians were what eventually shaped the outcome of the Mexican American war. Indian raids by the Comanche and their allies like the Kiowa s generated many problems for Mexico s agricultural, commercial and ranch life during the 1830 s. As a result, Mexico s ability to defend itself declined when centralism, militarism, and American imperialism were devastating the nation. Similarities Between Hinduism And Buddhism Learning about both Hinduism and Buddhism, particularly about the art and architecture of both cultures made me realize they are not that different as I thought first. Both cultures are beautiful and rich, and if someone takes a deeper look can see that they are depending on each other. Many people forget that Buddha was born into a Hindu society, and his views and beliefs which led to a brand new culture are based on Hinduism. Of course I am not saying the two are the same because that wouldn t make any sense. However, the similarities are visible, just the way differences are visible too, and these things make both cultures so amazing. First I would like to point out some of the similarities and differences between Hindu and Buddhist faiths which I think are important to understand their art. Both religions put karma and reincarnation into the center of believes. Both religions believe in several spiritual practices in attempts to get beyond the thinking mind and into a state of relaxation and awareness. However, they do not share their gods, in Hinduism they share their religion with many gods and goddesses, and in Buddhismthere is no god, Buddha himself was a leader. Knowing the two cultures basic views and believes it is easier to compare their art and architecture, since mostly they are based on the religions. The first similarity which I think is very oblivious is the stupa. Stupas are present in both cultures and the base for the temples in Hinduism and Buddhism ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This statement not only speaks for itself, but it also poses an interesting question. If athletes themselves continue to declare themselves ineligible to be a role model, then why do people continually allow their children to admire these athletes for more than his /her sports abilities? At this point in time, the parents should know better. Parents would not allow their kids to admire some hoodlum on the street, but because sports are in a controlled atmosphere, they do not see the dangers in athletes being role models. • 30. Effects Of The On Fetal Alcohol Syndrome During 1720 1750, there was a limited amount of control on the production and selling of gin in England due to Parliament. This resulted in an increase in alcohol intake. During this period, fetal and infant death rates were at it highest [1]. The medical society did not believe consumption of alcohol was the cause of the high rise in birth defects at the time. With the repeal of the prohibition on alcohol in 1933, doctors believed it had beneficial effects to the point of intravenous treatments with alcohol were used to delay preterm labor. In the 1950s to 1960s, there was another rise in fetal birth defects called the thalidomide scare . Thalidomide was used to relieve morning sickness experienced during pregnancy. This scare caused scientists to realize that certain types of drugs given during pregnancy, affected the development of the fetus. It wasn t until 1973, when two pediatricians, David Smith and Kenneth Jones, whom specialized in dysmorphology, the study of abnormalities present at birth, published their article on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. In their study, they examined eight children to determine what caused their developmental impediments. These children were characterized with growth deficiencies, microcephaly, and impaired cognitive development. All their mothers were alcoholics, which resulted in Smith and Jones to believe alcohol was causing defects in the offspring [2]. Beyle And Abrar Attack Essay The Act The eighth of July of 2011, Abukar Osman Beyle and Shani Nurani Shiekh Abrar pleaded not guilty with multiple life sentences of twenty six counts for the capture and murdering of four American citizens. On the eighteenth of February of 2011, Beyle and Abrar were two of the nineteen pirates that had boarded the Quest and held the citizens hostage just off the Somalian coast. Once their mission was done the pirates attempted to flee back to Somalia, but found their escape impeded by the United States Navy. Throughout the altercation with the U.S. Navy, three of the pirates (Beyle, Abrar and another pirate) fired and killed the four Americans hostages. Beyle s reason for appeal is that the district court had insufficient jurisdiction over any charges with relation to murder (Counts being 16, 17, 18, and 19) and as well as the consequent use of any firearms (Counts being 22, 23, 24, and 25) due to the primary actions arising within Somalia s territorial waters and not on high seas.
Abrar s argument is that he was denied his Fifth Amendment and his Sixth Amendment. He specifically stated that he was not given the access to any of his witnesses located abroad that could help justify his statement of being kidnapped and involuntarily forced to work as a pirate. To conclude, both Beyle and Abrar were given a fair trial. The court states that they did not deny Abrar to the Fifth Amendment right nor was the Sixth Amendment he was able to disclose his witness material in his defense. This structured framework allows the prescriber to assess all appropriate factors and problems and make an informed decision whether to issue a prescription or discuss other options with the patient Humphries (2002). Examples of these options would be offering advice about their condition/problem or informing them that the treatment/items they require would be cheaper over the counter, thus making optimum use of the NHS budget, Prescription Pricing Authority (PPA) (2003). The land became baron; an area of waste land, until 1967, when the water originally diverted for irrigation of fields, was redirected to the lowland area. With its simple plots, exaggerated situations, unrealistic scenarios, lurid colours, humour, animation and familiar pattern, it is a typical cartoon but with an original twist. The Flintstones did a spin off series and created a different sitcom that was almost identical to the jokes and the theme, but it was set in the space age. The only way that Flintstones and the Jetsons are different to the way in which the Simpsons works, is the type of humour used. The Simpsons humour is a lot more complex and has clever jokes; it satirises and makes a joke about political, literary, and cultural values of Americaand the rest of the world. • 36. Medical Care At The United States Summary Medical care in the United States is complex at the individual provider level, at the system level, and at the national level. While managed care works to streamline medical services, and integrate systems, integration within safety net hospital systems providers that deliver a significant level of care to vulnerable patients (Ko Et Al, 2015) and community health centers is still undergoing transition. Although policymakers have worked to promote integration in large hospital systems, and have been widely successful, integration among safety net providers and health care centers for the uninsured, Medicaid and underinsured populations remains largely fragmented. The study conducted by Michelle Ko, Julie Murphy and Andrew Bindman, in late 2015, aimed to address the challenges of integration between the two systems and propose ways to implement integration within safety net hospitals and community health centers. In order to do so Ko Et Al designed a qualitative study in which recognized leadership executives of five sites were interviewed on their experiences with service integration. The interviews were projected to last up to an hour and consisted of open ended question that allowed for participants to highlight what they felt were the challenges to successfully implemented integrated systems within their organizations and what strategies they implemented to effectively navigate the challenges. This study method allowed for the researchers to identify conflicts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These sanctions were, at least in part, responsible for bringing Iran to the Geneva conference to begin negotiations. These negotiations, which took place between Iran and the members of the P5+1 comprised of the five permanent members of the UN Security council, joined by Germany over the course of several years, resulted in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in July of 2015. The JCPOA would entail lifting sanctions on Iran, in return for restrictions on the Iranian nuclear program. The deal requires Iran to give up many of its centrifuge and much of its uranium stockpile, while also limiting the level of uranium enrichment, and where enrichment can occur. Furthermore, Iran agreed to allow inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to check the declared nuclear sites at any time. Under the terms of the JCPOA, Iran is unlikely to be able to develop weaponized nuclear technology, helping to head off nuclear competition in the unstable Middle East, and, hopefully, preventing nuclear proliferation. Had a deal not been struck, a weaponized nuclear program in Iran would have forced the Saudis to develop nuclear weapons in response. It is important to note that, the nuclear deal does not prohibit Iran from developing ballistic missiles, but the UN Security Council resolution endorsing the deal called upon Iran to refrain from testing ballistic missiles designed to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons and ... Sexual Fantasy Within The Odyssey Cassidy Bulger Professor Isser Montserrat September 22, 2015 Sexual Fantasy Within The Odyssey In the Odyssey, by Homer, Homer suggests that women can be seductive traps that prevent or delay men from reaching their goals. The women that Odysseus encounters on his journey home in The Odyssey all represent a different sexual fantasy figure in the eyes of a male, and serve as a distraction that he must work around. Although the three women that Odysseus encounters on his travels are desirable to him, the only thing that he wants is to get home to his devoted wife. The soft, alluring, pastoral sensuality of Calypso, the purity, youth and innocence of the young Nausicaa, and the adventurously sexy Circe are no contest to the loyal and faithful Penelope. Penelope holds aspects of each of these three women, making her the most sought after by Odysseus. The goddess Calypso resides in a cave on an island. The lush and blossomed forest that surrounds her cave symbolizes the idea of and new life, whereas the cave itself represents a womb. Around her cave the woodland was in bloom,...Four separate springs flowed with clear water, crisscrossing channels as they meandered through meadows lush with parsley and blossoming violets (Odyssey, 5. 67 76). What are the consequences of those stereotypes? Use examples to illustrate your points. Support with research. The United States is often referred to as a melting pot ; a place where people of all races, genders, and colors can live together and have the same opportunities. That sounds good, but it s not always how things necessarily pan out. There are drawbacks that come from melting pots and it has to do mainly with the way people think about others. With so many different humans living together as a people, attitudes and views may arise that pertain to each specific group; that is the basis of a stereotype. Diversity brings about stereotypes, which is defined as socially shared set of beliefs about traits that are characteristic of members of a social category (Greenwald,1998, p. 11). Stereotypes are present in everyday society and are difficult to get away from. That statement could be argued, but nearly every human being knows of at least one stereotype about themselves or others.
