Making the Jump to a Digital-First Business Strategy: A Marketer’s Guide to P...Acquia
The global COVID-19 pandemic has permanently changed the way brands engage with their customers. Consumers are no longer shopping in stores, traveling long distances, visiting restaurants, or leaving their homes much at all. Instead, they have increased their reliance on ecommerce, home delivery, subscription services, and brands they trust.
In response, many companies are shifting their focus (and budgets) from acquiring new customers to retaining and cultivating loyalty in existing customers. To compete in this new reality, marketers must escalate their plans to become “digital first,” and become proficient in meeting customer needs as channel preferences shift and reliance on digital experiences grow.
Join speakers from Forrester and Acquia as they share market insights and best practices for brands making the digital leap. Their research will cover:
- How companies are shifting their priorities during COVID-19
- What consumers expect from brands as their buying behaviors have changed
- Why data gives marketers critical business insights on engagement strategy and channel migration
- How to successfully navigate re-openings across the country (and globe)
- How to boost agility so you can more nimbly adapt to future business changes
The talk provides a new perspective on leadership in the digital age. Key topics include:
1. Organisational development: changing from a top-down, military-style organisation towards a supportive, adaptive and open organisation. Led by a leader who supports those in contact with the customers as opposed to a director / dictator who dictates from the top.
2. How to lead: Leadership involves setting a direction which people can follow. The author proposes to use the OKR framework (objective and key results), introduced by google, as a basis. The key steps in implementing the same are laid out as follows:
#1 Start defining OKRs to set an example.
#2 Publish immediately, visible for everyone.
#3 Get everyone involved.
#4 OKRs are set jointly only. There is no top-down.
#5 Discussion happens in the team(s) only.
#6 There is no punishment, it is a joint experience.
#7 Ensure everyone is walking in the same direction.
3. Setting a direction & vision: leadership further involves setting a direction. This is ultimately the duty of both the customer and the organisation. Only jointly can a correct vision and direction be determined, else we miss the market requirements.
4. What is strategy in this context: strategy, at it's simplest, is a direction and a verified path how to get there (the later typically referred to as a roadmap). Most strategies are superb in painting a vision, but lack the roadmap aspects of it, so they ultimately fall short of explaining how to realise the vision.
5. How to execute: execution can only be agile. Over waterfall, it has several key advantages:
#1 Customer testing & fast market feedback!
#2 Product doesn‘t need to be fixed for the next 2 years
#3 Limited risk
#4 Significantly faster (if well executed)
#5 Attention: agile doesn‘t mean without a goal
We prefer to step on board when your company is looking to define its long-term strategies. Because that's when we can use the complete playing field - for developing strategies which result in a measurable improvement of your key indicators.
We've developed our own method for reorienting / relaunching digital projects. It takes a holistic approach to all the component parts: right from the business case, user experience and business requirements to the process design, technology and content.
Which is why we work intensively within interdisciplinary teams, make use of our frameworks, draw on our wide range of experience and lead workshops - until we've seen to it that you reach your goals. This process is typically followed by the development of a digital concept.

Cloud Computing Stats - Security and RecoveryRapidScale
Countless studies have shown that cloud security is the major factor standing in the way of cloud adoption. While in some cases companies are right to be wary, like most things, not all cloud providers are created equal. In fact, the security a company experiences with the cloud solely depends on the provider chosen.
And more than ever before, businesses everywhere are increasingly dependent on their IT technology for production, operation and communication. This means in the event of a disaster, whether it’s a hurricane or human-error power outage, it is extremely critical for a business to have an effective, quick recovery time to restore computer data and functioning infrastructure.
Luckily, the growing industry of cloud computing technology comes to the rescue with Disaster Recovery as a Service, which backs up a company’s data and infrastructure securely in remote, redundant data centers.
Here are some statistics all about cloud security and disaster recovery.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

How Happy Workers Make Happy Customers
1. Spending ~4 HOURS in a 40-hour workweek

Not getting regular, constructive feedback on
their performance.
BEING UNMOTIVATED… by negative feedback
during an obsolete year-end performance review.
OLD TECHNOLOGY — green screens, client server,
bad design, etc.
Only 34% OF EMPLOYEES ARE ENGAGED,
largely due to a LACK OF MOBILITY and/or a

Customers are most frustrated by having to go through

Having to go through multiple systems and/or
employees to complete a single transaction.
Being left to wonder “WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?”
— thanks to a lack of visibility into processes.
Cumbersome or OUTDATED USER
EXPERIENCES… in design and beyond.
72% of mobile users say it’s important to them
that websites are mobile-friendly, yet 96% have
