Will Matthews
Throughout the planning and research stages of my music video I used lots of
different programmes and also for deciding my song and also getting ideas for my
own music video I used many different programmes to help me on the way to
completing my music video, here examples of what programmes I used;
For the research of my music video genre I
received most help from search engines such as
google. Using google I would research
information about my artist, Karen Harding, and
also other artist that work in the same genre of
music. Also usingYouTube to see what the artists
would add into their music videos with this
genre. I also used Blogger which is an online
website that I could post all of my work as I
completed it.
Blogger is a free online website which we used to publish all of our work on.This
allows us to look back at all of our previous work, having a backlog of research and
planning. This was useful as we can go back and edit our post easily at any point we
needed to. Overall I have found the use of blogger very helpful as it has allowed me
to be able to post all of my work in one place and added a real structure to all of my
work.
I usedYouTube throughout the making of my research and planning. I chose my artist,
Karen Harding through watching her music video onYouTube. After I had made this
choice I continued to useYouTube for my further research looking at her other music
videos to create inspiration for my own music video. I also finally usedYouTube to upload
my final music video.
Through the use of twitter I was able to get into contact with the producer of Karen
Harding, ‘say something’ video. I was able to get permission from emailing him and
talking to him making sure that there were no copyright boundaries I was
overstepping.
Cannon 600D
The majority of filming and photos that I used the cannon 600D.The reason why I used the
600D is because I feel that it has the best quality footage is used on the correct settings. It
also worked well with the editing soft wear I was using as the footage was a larger frame
size making the film looking more professional.Along with this I also used a tripod to have
a good still image without there being any movement due to I was happy with how most of
the footage came out. Along with the cannon I used an SD card which I used to transfer my
footage across from the camera to the computer.
I used Adobe Premier Pro to edit my final piece together, I enjoyed editing my video
as I have used Adobe before. However during the making of my video I attempted to
add different effects onto it to make it look different or more interesting however I
felt that my video looked better with only a slight change in of the brightness and
contrasting. I also did short sharp cuts between some of my clips which I landed on
each beat of the song which made my music video look more professional.
Microsoft Outlook
I used to receive feedback from my peers in my class. This was helpful as I was able
to quickly and easily transfer the notes onto my question 3 for the evaluation.
