The student used various media technologies at each stage of their coursework project. During research, they used a desktop computer, the internet, books, magazines, YouTube, and cinema viewings to research different genres and examples. During planning, they took practice photos with a camera and uploaded them to their computer. During production, they filmed footage and edited using Adobe Premiere Pro to create a trailer and used Photoshop and InDesign to design a poster and magazine cover. For evaluation, they used a computer and internet to create a Prezi presentation of their findings.

research, planning and
evaluation stages?

2. Research
 For the research stage, I used numerous amount of media to help me
decide what to create for my coursework. I decided to create a film
trailer, film poster and film front cover of a magazine based on the
research I did – I looked at many examples on YouTube to see how
other examples were like.
 I used a desktop computer to help me find many examples on the
internet (for example; Google, yahoo, YouTube) along with books and
magazines to see aswell for different images that represent my chosen
genre and style . In some cases whenever I went to the cinema with
friends I would look at film trailers and displays to see what genre I
wanted, which I chose to do the horror genre. This helped me find
techniques I could use in my own magazine, poster and trailer.

3. Research
 I used a desktop computer during the research stage. I also used
the internet and some books during my research stage, because I
was able to look at what I could make and then see how I can
use this to help with my understanding and knowledge of the
coursework. I would look at trailer on YouTube as well as
IMDB.com to help me choose what genre I wanted to do. I also
looked some images of magazine and film posters on the internet
because there are some many examples to look at. I then used
WordPress to help me write about example I have found and
how it would link back. There was a limited amount of research
done using media technology because all I was doing was looking
up examples to help me for the planning stage.

4. Planning
 During the planning stage, I started to use more types of media
technologies such as the camera to take some practise shots of
the location, I used. I was able to upload these types of photos I
token and put them onto the computer which would be used in
my draft version of my poster and magazine. I went online to get
some types of fonts that I may use in my piece aswell as a bar
code to help my product look more effective to the chosen
genre.
 I used a desktop computer to complete my reasearcg stage. This
was the most effective type of media to use because I was able to
look at different types of posters, magazines and covers to see
how I can plan my own work.

5. Production
 In my production I used different media technologies
to construct my research and planning stage. The
product I was going to make was a film trailer with two
ancillary products which are a magazine front cover and
a film poster. I looked theses types of media; books, the
internet, magazines and television & cinema adverts to
see how it would be combined together and this helped
me chose what type of genre I was going to do, which
was horror.

6. Constructing
 For this stage, I used a number of different media technologies for
many reasons. I mostly used a desktop computer and a camera. The
camera I used was to film my piece and to record footage I am
going to use, aswell as the sound. With this camera I was able to
zoom, in and out, and to show different shots and angles. For the
film poster and magazine image, I used the camera to take the
photos
 Finally I used a computer to create my three products, I used a
programme called adobe premier pro to edit and add effects to
make my trailer. I also used the desktop computer for the ancillary
pieces, I used another programme called adobe Photoshop to create
my film poster and parts of the magazine cover and they edit and
change features to what I want it to be, but for the magazine I
mostly used another programme called Indesign to create my
magazine.

7. Evaluation
 For the evaluation stage, I used a desktop
computer, I used the internet for this as well
which was key resource in my tasks overall and
used Slideshare and Prezi to show my findings
for part of my evaluation questions.
