Unit Plan Abstract
Blanco CI 350.
History of the English Language Abstract
For my unit plan, I have chosen to do the History of the English language and teach it to
twenty tenth grade honors English students. 12 males, and 8 females. All student have a good
work ethic and are various in their reaction to technology. Some will benefit some will not.
They are to define the history of the English language, important events, figures, pieces of
literature, and the evolving nature of the language. I have decided to teach by using a mixture of
technology and traditional class room techniques to convey information and show what Old,
Middle, and early Modern English sounded like so that students may have an understanding and
be encouraged to comment on videos by using social media rather than aloud discussions as a
way to get every student involved. By the end of the week, they will be split into four groups of
five and create an art bot based which will clearly convey the information they have learned in
class with one being for each of the four parts of English history.

History of the English Language Unit Plan Abstract.

  • 1. Kyle Mosley December 7, 2015 Unit Plan Abstract Blanco CI 350. History of the English Language Abstract For my unit plan, I have chosen to do the History of the English language and teach it to twenty tenth grade honors English students. 12 males, and 8 females. All student have a good work ethic and are various in their reaction to technology. Some will benefit some will not. They are to define the history of the English language, important events, figures, pieces of literature, and the evolving nature of the language. I have decided to teach by using a mixture of technology and traditional class room techniques to convey information and show what Old, Middle, and early Modern English sounded like so that students may have an understanding and be encouraged to comment on videos by using social media rather than aloud discussions as a way to get every student involved. By the end of the week, they will be split into four groups of five and create an art bot based which will clearly convey the information they have learned in class with one being for each of the four parts of English history.
