HEATH PARK RISING
HEATH PARK RISING
• The idea of my UK film Heath Park Rising will start showing the character “Barry” walking
through a ally that is surrounded by trees and gives a quite dangerous vibe as he walks
through. While he is walking he turns around and notices something which causes him to
run. This will show the end of the scene and with the new scene the atmosphere will
change as well as a group of friends are meeting up and talking and having the friendly
banter that is shown in everyday life's. Just before the group is about to leave Alan who is
played by john boyega notices that something has happened to Barry but he does’t say
anything and gets in the car to leave for school. Towards the middle that’s when the cast
will realise what’s happening as as MrCark gets eaten alive. Towards the end of the film
the group of friends escape the school after losing there friend Alan played by dev Patel.
• The running time for my film will be roughly about 92 minutes. This will be good for the
genre of the film because the horror film wont drag on it will be short so the audience
doesn’t get bored of the film that they are viewing.
TARGET AUDIENCE
• The target audience of my film will be teenagers and horror film fanatics. The social
economic grouping will be E because the teenagers will have disposable income. The
characters in the from will help attract the target audience because they are young an
popular. They also have a large fan base.
WHY IS IT UK
• My film will be a UK film because all cast that are appearing within the film are from the
UK. The other aspects of the film that make it a UK is that the director of my film will be
from the UK as well. The final reason is that all locations in the film are shot around the
west midlands so all the locations are English
MIKE BAILEY- BARRY
• The reasons I have chose Mike bailey to play the character
Barry in the film is because he is an UK actor that is famously
known for playing Sid in the TV series Skins. The other reasons
that I have chosen to use him is that even though he is well
known by audiences he will be relatively cheap to pay and won’t
affect the budget that much.
DEV PATEL- SAM
• Dev Patel is another UK actor that is well known by British
audiences for being in the TV series Skins. He is also famous
for appearing in Slum dog Millionaire which was a massive hit
and produced a lot of money. This indicates to me that he has a
big fan base that will attract people to come and watch the film.
The downside to this will be that because of how well
established the actor is he will cost more to have in the film.
JOHN BOYEGA- ALAN
• The reasons behind me choosing John Boyega to play the
character Alan because of the two faced way in which the
character must be played in order for the story to flow through.
The other reasons I have chose him is that the characters he
has had to play in other films such as attack the block he will be
suitable for the role. His age is another reason that I have
chosen to use him because he will be able to play the age of a
sixth former. He is also a UK actor so it wont change the type of
the Film.
JACQUELINE JOSSA- KATIE
• Jacqueline Jossa is a UK actress that is famously known for
playing in Lauren from eastenders. The other reason that I have
chosen to use her is that because she has only appeared in
soap opera’s so she wont costs a lot of money for my film. She
matches the character because she is able to play a fun poppy
character that lightens up the mood.
BROOKE VINCENT- LAUREN
• the reason id chose Brooke Vincent is that is she is a young UK
actress that is well known to the audience and has a good fan
based. By having Brooke she will attract my target audience
because she is popular. she is also around the sixth form age so
she will fit the preferences of the character i will be using.
DANNY DYER
• I have chosen him to play a hard nut school teacher who later
turns in to gut hungry zombie. The reason i would prefer to have
Danny Dyer is because the audience will recognized him to be a
hard gangster like he's played in other media productions but
see the soft side when the zombies attack to show the severity
of the zombie attack. He is also a UK actor so it won’t affect the
film.
UNIQUE SELLING POINT
• The unique selling point that my cast will have is that they have
huge fan bases which will mean that they will attract my target
audience. This will be the selling point of my film because they
will be the success of my film. I also think the actors that I have
chosen will suit the roles of the characters because of there
young ages.
PRE PRODUCTION
COSTUME DESIGN
This will be the costume
design for the zombie
because the person has gone
from being a teenager to a
zombie so the costumes
between the teenagers and
the zombies will be similar. I
will do this because I'm trying
to create the teenage image
that teenagers are associated
with today.
EXAMPLES OF MY STORY BOARDS
PRODUCTION
EXAMPLE OF MY SAMPLE SCENE
CAMERA SHOTS AND MISE EN SCENE
• The camera shots that I plan to have in my film will be Close ups and cut shots because it
will help to build the tension within the horror film. The cut shots will be in place to help
build suspension for the audience. I will also use a lot of tracking shots and steady cam
shots because I will want to follow the actors during the film so the audience will be able
to focus on the emotion of them.
• The Mise en scene will be so that my film is well composed and everything that is being
used for example props and actors are being used in the best possible way to help show
the theme and the narrative of the film.
POST PRODUCTION
RELEASE DATE
• The release date for my film will be aimed towards the start of the six weeks holiday. The
reason for this will be because this will be the time where my target audience has there
longest period away from school so they will be able to be more flexible to go and see
this.
THE BUDGET
• The budget that I have worked out for my film and put it into 3 categories.
• The crew and others needed for m film had a sub total of £396,046
