Cast and Costumes
Young Brian (Albert
Gulliford)
The decision to use my younger brother in
my film is for several reasons. Firstly the
first half of my opening consists scenes of
a younger Brian (myself) and so albert is
the obvious choice due to him being my
brother and looking very similar to me.
Albert is also very interested in theatre
and acting and has been is several
productions including recently “A
Christmas Carol” at Salisbury hall where he
played “Young Scrooge” so I trust him to
play the role well. Also due to me living
with him it makes filming much more
convenient as it is easy to organise days to
film
Costume
I have chosen Young Brian to have a
costume that reflects his “nerdy” but
innocent personality at his age. It shows
how is the kind of boy who has had a
good up bringing and is always dressed
smartly made obvious with the smart
clothes worn such as the tie and his
glasses add to the stereotypical view of a
geeky guy
Brian (Stanley Gulliford)
I chose to cast myself for Brian. Firstly because
of how half of the opening is Brian and the
other half is of a younger version of himself.
This means casting myself and my brother
who looks very similar to me is perfect. This
also means it is very convenient for my
production schedule. I had the choice to cast
my peers within my school however finding
times when they are free is difficult and
finding someone who had a younger sibling
that looked like them would be even harder.
While do not have much acting experience I
am still confident I can give a somewhat
convincing performance and will be much
easier in terms of filming as I know exactly
what I want my final product will look like
Costume
The costume I have chosen for Brian is to
show overall show his failed attempt of
becoming cool. The leather jacket he has
chosen is oversized and has a ridiculous
bike gang on the back that he has no clue
of but assumes it makes him seem cool.
The sunglasses he wear are also too small
and he wears them instead of glasses he
needs as his priority is becoming a rebel
he also wears them indoors and at night
to show how desperate he is too be cool.
This is all used for comic relief as the
character himself is meant to be
laughable.
Anthony (Jake
Witherington)
Anthony is a young, drug dealer. I chose
Jake to play this role for several reasons.
Firstly due to his height and physical build
Jake can play the role of this young adult
and can be intimidating in the first scene.
Furthermore Jake is a very close friend of
mine which will make filing very
convenient and will allow us to work
together well. I am confident Jake can pull
off this aggressive character and give a
good performance
Costume
The costume I have chosen for Jake is one
that makes him look like a thug. This is
because of him being a drug dealer and
shows how dangerous he is. It is almost a
typical outfit for this kind of character and
will show the audience the kind of
antagonist he is. The dark colours used
show how shady the character is and how
not much good can come from being
around him
Rosie Patton
(Anthony’s Customer)
I chose Rosie as the client at the start of
the film mainly due to convenience
reasons. This is because of how she also
lives in Fordingbridge and is my neighbour
so it will be easy to organise days to
record according to my production
schedule. In addition to that Rosie has
been in many school productions and
took Drama GCSE where she has
developed her skills in acting so I am
confident she can give a convincing
performance.
Costume
The costume Rosie will be to portray her
character will be clothes that are scruffy
and very casual that look like they have
been worn for an entire week with the
state of them to reinforce her role as a
drug addict and how she has little money
to spend on clothes. Her hair will be messy
and make up will be used to give her the
look of a drug addict aswell.
Props
Recorder and Piano/Keyboard: These props will be
used when scenes of Brian’s child are shown. They are
Used to emphasise what his childhood was like and
The kind of person he is. This reinforces the question of
Brian has ended up where he has and how serious
the situation is.
Gun: This is used by Anthony. In the film he uses it to
Intimidate his customer but when Brian falls into him he
accidentally shoots the client. It first show the intimidating
and dangerous character Anthony is and also how reckless
he is due to a gun only meant for intimidation being fully loaded
Brian’s Bike: Brian rides off on this at the end of the scene and
Is used for comic relief. The ending of the film builds Brian to be
Cool with music and costume. The scene implies he is getting
On a motor bike and all of this is broken with the bike bell and
Then he rides out of the scene and this is where my opening end
