Heat is a form of energy that can do work and be transferred between objects. Temperature is a measure of how hot or cold an object is. There are two main scales used to measure temperature - Celsius and Fahrenheit. A thermometer is used to read temperatures on these scales and comes in clinical and laboratory varieties.
