Summary of Daily Evaluations from the Health Open Educational
Resources (OER) Technology Africa Regional Workshop
3 - 5 October 2012

Daily feedback forms were collected from participants at the end of each day.
Responses have been aggregated, anonymized and randomized. The agenda and
collection of associated materials is at http://openmi.ch/oertechafrica2012notes.

Institutions represented in the evaluations include: University of Cape Town,
University of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology,
University of the Western Cape, University of Nairobi, National University of
Rwanda, St. Paul Hospital Millennium Medical College, University for Development
Studies, University of Cape Coast, Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in
ICT, University of Michigan, and the South African Institute for Distance Education.



To what extent did today’s workshop meet your expectations?

Of 51 responses, 41 reported that the workshop met their expectations and 10
reported that their expectations were exceeded. Some highlights from the
responses:

   •     “Flexible agenda, unconference style, was able to adapt to people's schedules
         and interests”
   •     “The rich diversity of technical people and faculty from various institutions
         provided a great opportunity for the exchange of information.”
   •     “I have learnt greatly about policy development and implementation.”
   •     “Good mix of discussion, presentation, and hands-on work”
   •     “Good discussions at right level and length”
   •     “As a media expert have been exposed to some challenges in OER materials
         production such as clearing the content and now I know how to do that

perfectly and can assist others to do the same.”
   •   “Workshop was straight to the point”
   •   “I got more than that I expected. It is very participatory.”
   •   “All expectations were met: social interactions, time adherence, content rich
       presentations.”
   •   “Today was great a lot of information, ideas, it really did meet my expectation
       re-energized my OER initiative”
   •   “I especially liked the hands-on activities for the analytics, in-depth
       knowledge on Google Analytics”

most useful. I thought already knew many e-tools but I learnt a lot from everything.”
